Most of the various sectors in today's life such as bank, transport, voting, health, electricity, etc., are currently digitalized. In our research paper, we have surveyed the voting system and explored the existing drawbacks of the voting system concerning security and malfunction. The demerits in the existing schemes include less data security, vote modification, man in the middle attack, masquerade attack, denial of service attack, impersonation attack, etc. Such attacks can compromise security and allows attackers to modify the results. To resolve the above-mentioned issues as well as the attacks, this research paper proposes a protocol to overcome security-based issues. In the proposed system, a secure online e-voting system is developed for end-to-end users to avoid misappropriation on the vote during the result publication in India or any other country. The proposed E-Voting Cloud System (ECS) system has three phases: The first phase is the registration phase, the second phase is vote polling, and the third phase is result announcements. In the proposed system, the election commission of India can search and verify the vote data through cloud computing. For a detailed description of our proposed protocol, a cube data storage structure and user differentiated system are first implemented. Based on the cube data structure and user differentiated system model, the proposed protocol helps to store voter data in the cloud with the encrypted model and ECS. Finally, the candidate can decrypt the data using their key. The people can verify the result announced by the ECS. The performance analysis clearly shows that our proposed system is highly secure when compared to the existing system. This paper explores the different insider employee-led cyber frauds (IECF) based on the recent large-scale fraud events of prominent Indian banking institutions. Examining the different types of fraud and appropriate control measures will protect the banking industry from fraudsters. In this study, we identify and classify Cyber Fraud (CF), map the severity of the fraud on a scale of priority, test the mitigation effectiveness, and propose optimal mitigation measures. The identification and classification of CF losses were based on a literature review and focus group discussions with risk and vigilance officers and cyber cell experts. The CF was analyzed using secondary data. We predicted and prioritized CF based on machine learning-derived Random Forest (RF). An efficient fraud mitigation model was developed based on an offender-victim-centric approach. Mitigation is advised both before and after fraud occurs. Through the findings of this research, banks and fraud investigators can prevent CF by detecting it quickly and controlling it on time. This study proposes a structured, sustainable CF mitigation plan that protects banks, employees, regulators, customers, and the economy, thus saving time, resources, and money. OBJECTIVE The aim of this research paper is to analyse and provide suggestions to overcome challenges of data security and data privacy in the healthcare sector. The objective is to also conduct a SWOT analysis to understand the current scenario of the healthcare sector. It will provide detail on the concerns of the healthcare sector. DESIGN AND SETTING A quantitative data analysis was conducted. The online Google forms were used to gather primary data. Statist ical analysis software was used for data analyses like independent sample t-tests and one-way anova. RESULTS The healthcare sector is concerned about data security and data privacy. The violation of privacy cases in India has increased over several years. The data security and data privacy in healthcare sector are very important. The female respondents felt that it is very important that their consent is taken before their personal information is sold or shared wi th others plus before tracking their movement on the internet than male respondents. CONCLUSION Healthcare and information technology sectors are among the most important sectors in the current online world. The strengths are healthcare awareness and mobile applications while weakness are ineffectively protected systems and infrastructure problems. The opportunities are investments for different facilities in the sector plus increase in research and development. The threats are violation of data privacy, data thefts and cyber -attacks putting a question on data security. Proper effective procedures have to be implemented to improve data security. Introduction: This paper proposed two separate tests for checking the conditional dependence between returns and risk of selected securities using Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model. Methodology: The proposed first test is based on Special Wald's F-statistic. This test was employed in order to check whether the expected returns conditionally depend on risk and past year returns if the returns follow normal distribution. Similarly, in order to scrutinize the conditional dependence of risk on return and past years risk, the second test based on Lagrange's multiplier (LM) statistic was employed. The methodology consists to model the data over the security returns of selected 5 companies under FMCG Industry listed in National Stock Exchange (NSE), India over the period between Jan 1, 2020 to Dec 31, 2020. Results: From the result of the study, it is revealed that even though the stock liquidity of Britannia and Marico is good, their expected returns reveals that this was not a deciding factor on their past year risk and return during the period of the study. Due to lack of a central bureaucrat in mobile ad hoc networks, the security of the network becomes serious issue. During malicious attacks, according to the motivation of intruder the severity of the threat varies. It may lead to loss of data, energy or throughput. This paper proposes a lightweight Intruder Node Detection and Isolation Action mechanism (INDIA) using feature extraction, feature optimization and classification techniques. The indirect and direct trust features are extracted from each node and the total trust feature is computed by combining them. The trust features are extracted from each node of MANET and these features are optimized using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm as feature optimization technique. These optimized feature sets are then classified using Neural Networks (NN) classifier which identifies the intruder node. The performance of the proposed methodology is studied in terms of various parameters such as success rate in packet delivery, delay in communication and the amount of energy consumption for identifying and isolating the intruder. This paper aims to report on the information security practices on the smartphone by the students of the University of Calicut, Kerala. Data were gathered by using a survey questionnaire which was administered to 344 smartphone cohorts at the postgraduate level. The study findings reported the scanty knowledge of the participants regarding the issues and risks associated with smartphones even though most of the respondents were aware of the information security practices available in the smartphones. The data analysis delineated the habit of students storing secret and sensitive information like ATM password, bank or credit card account details and personal photos on their smartphones. Data leakage resulting from device loss or theft was the major security risk faced by the participants. The number of participants misplaces their smartphone also found high. Data backup and blocking the device once lost were the major security practices adopted by the participants to recover from the disaster. This is to be sure, first of its kind study to survey the postgraduate students at the university level in India and the findings of the study would help the smartphone users in general and students in particular to protect their information stored in their smartphones. Digital transformation in the health sector can revolutionize a country's healthcare system. However, the effective sustainability of digital health relies on various factors that influence its implementation. Addressing such implementation challenges is crucial in designing and delivering digital health services. Therefore, this systematic review attempted to identify the potential barriers to the implementation of digital transformation in the health sector of India. Systematic searches were employed across databases PubMed, PsycINFO, Science Direct, Web of Science, and Google Scholar for studies that reported digital transformation in India from inception to December 2022. Following narrative synthesis, studies were assessed for quality using JBI and the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Out of 1129 initially identified records, 26 studies that met the inclusion criteria were deemed eligible for final analysis. Although digital transformation in India's health sector occurred rapidly, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still potential barriers that impede its successful implementation in the country. Barriers identified are mainly associated with limited technological and medical infrastructure, data security and privacy, and a lack of physical examination. This study examines the complexities of neobank marketing in India, moving beyond traditional banking paradigms. Using a descriptive research methodology, primary data was collected from 200 respondents through a self-structured questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS. The findings reveal that all respondents were aware of neobanks, but continued to use traditional banking services like savings accounts, credit, loans, and fixed deposits. Hypothesis testing indicates that neobanks achieve higher customer engagement through digital channels compared to traditional banks. Despite this, neobanks face significant challenges related to perceived trustworthiness, especially concerning data security. This has led to a lower level of trust in their marketing communications. However, the study highlights the agility of neobanks in adapting their marketing strategies to regulatory changes and their consistent innovation to stay competitive. Neobanks are more flexible and responsive to changing regulations and market demands, which is a notable advantage. The research recommends that neobanks reassess their marketing strategies to bridge the identified performance gap. Enhancing trustworthiness and data security measures is crucial to align with current market expectations. The strategic maritime environment of the Indian Ocean exhibits growing geopolitical tussle between the U.S. and China and have regional implications. In an attempt to contain the rising influence of China, U.S. strengthens its collaboration with India to elevate its status as a 'net security provider' in the region by offering it access to highly sophisticated defence related equipment. This paper is an attempt to contextualise the regional dimension of superpower rivalry. It offers analysis of India's evolving maritime strategy and primarily focuses on two significant trends that directly undermine regional stability. These include: first, introduction of 'Indo-Pacific' as a regional construct that enables India to enhance its naval capabilities and use maritime diplomacy to forge strategic relationships in its pursuit of dominating the Ocean and secondly, the maritime dimension of South Asian strategic environment where India's pursuit of sea-based nuclear forces further adds to New Delhi's aggressive nuclear posture and directly undermines deterrence stability vis-à-vis Pakistan. In the rapidly developing world of the Internet of Things (IoT), data security has become increasingly important since massive personal data are collected. IoT devices have resource constraints, which makes traditional cryptographic algorithms ineffective for securing IoT devices. To overcome resource limitations, lightweight cryptographic algorithms are needed. To identify research trends and patterns in IoT security, it is crucial to analyze existing works, keywords, authors, journals, and citations. We conducted a bibliometric analysis using performance mapping, science mapping, and enrichment techniques to collect the necessary information. Our analysis included 979 Scopus articles, 214 WOS articles, and 144 IEEE Xplore articles published during 2015–2023, and duplicates were removed. We analyzed and visualized the bibliometric data using R version 4.3.1, VOSviewer version 1.6.19, and the bibliometrix library. We discovered that India is the leading country for this type of research. Archarya and Bansod are the most relevant authors; lightweight cryptography and cryptography are the most relevant terms; and IEEE Access is the most significant journal. Introduction: The use of social networking sites (SNSs) is growing among higher education students, including healthcare students. Nonetheless, limited research has examined the perceived use behavior among healthcare students in developing countries such as India. Objective: This study attempts to assess the use behavior of SNSs by undergraduate students in the fields of nursing and pharmacy in India through the lens of Connectivism and New Social Learning theories. Method: The study used a Google form to collect data through an online questionnaire. A sample of 483 participants included 258 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students, 161 General Nursing and Midwifery students, and 64 Bachelor of Pharmacy students from various Indian nursing and pharmacy schools. Results: The majority of the respondents prefer to use SNSs for several purposes such as watching academic videos on YouTube, sharing their ideas, thoughts, and current development in their respective fields through WhatsApp, getting job-related information from different Facebook pages, etc. A substantial number of nursing students believed that these SNSs help them build relationships with professionals across the country. At the same time, many students also indicated that extensive use of SNSs might cause sleep difficulties, data privacy concerns, and a lack of focus while studying. Conclusion: To have an impact on how SNSs are used in healthcare education, more attention should be paid to build connectivism between educators and their students on social learning environment, which the findings of this study's suggestions could be put into practice. An ease of data or record sharing at will has compelled most of the physicians to adopt EHR (Electronic Health Record) for record-keeping of patients. It also makes convenient to the other stake holders of healthcare ecosystem such as nurses, specialists and patient. Due to lower costs and scalability of application, the cloud is becoming the infrastructure for most of the EHR but without comprising the privacy of data. In this paper we have proposed a frame work for storing the health records and accessing them by patients and physicians as authorized by key-control scheme. The scenarios we have considered here are of rural and urban health care centers and hence more appropriate for Indian health care services. The proposed scheme has double data security by introducing isolation between encryption schemes of transmitted data and stored data. Blockchain technology has recently been at the center stage of academic discussions. This is owing to its use in the financial sector and the rise of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. In essence, digital ledger technology (DLT) is shared digital data spread across multiple sites. A blockchain is a type of DLT consisting of a growing list of records, called blocks, securely linked with a time stamp. Maintaining data privacy and security is one of the core benefits of using the blockchain network. In healthcare, efficient data sharing is desirable with secure long-term access to data. In recent years, numerous applications built on blockchain infrastructure have been introduced in the healthcare sector. In this narrative review, we intend to introduce the science of blockchain technology, its core concepts, and its application to healthcare. The rules employed to govern cross-border data flows are in dispute, the outcome of which will certainly affect digitalisation policies in the so-called Global South. Against this backdrop, data localisation has become one of the most prominent and disputed policy measures for states seeking to regulate cross-border data flows. This article argues that data localisation can be understood as the product of a new type of resource securitisation, namely data securitisation. This process is shaped by a range of state-specific political and economic issues, and by the outcome of the pressure exerted by national and foreign interest groups. Specifically, the article examines the case of India, where a set of policy measures and initiatives introduced in 2018 began a set of strict data securitisation moves; however, their results were ambivalent. On the one hand, economically driven data localisation requirements have been softened by the stark lobby of foreign governments and transnational corporations, in tandem with local actors, illustrating the structural limits faced by Global South states' sovereign digitalisation policies. On the other hand, a geopolitically driven data securitisation move against Chinese firms has been successful. Mobile applications are strongly emerging as a medium of purchase for consumers all across the world, while in India we have still not been able to realise the full potential of this medium. India is a leading market not only in the Asia-Pacific region but the world over for mobile usage, internet usage, mobile internet usage, despite that fact there has been a slow growth of mobile application-based shopping. Thus, the purpose of the current study has been to understand about consumers' demographic profile with respect to their preference for mobile app-based shopping and highlight the various barriers coming in the way of its growth, such as, lack of consumer trust, perceived security risk and privacy concerns. For the purpose, the data which was collected through a structured questionnaire from 1,498 respondents was analysed. This study used the multinomial logistic regression model to empirically investigate as to how some specific factors such as privacy, trust, and risk of payment security concerns influence the preference for mobile-app based shopping over the brick and mortar markets for retail shopping among different age, gender, occupational and income groups of consumers in India. As internet penetration increases in Lower and Middle Income Countries (LMIC), more older people are now conducting financial transactions online and using social media to stay in touch with family and friends. We discuss concerns that existing financial regulations and controls in India may afford older people insufficient protection from cybercrime, using qualitative interviews from our recent study exploring older people's experiences of cybercrime in Mumbai. A fingerprint is an impression left by the friction ridges of a human finger. The recovery of partial fingerprints from a crime scene is an important method of forensic science. Moisture and grease on a finger result in fingerprints on surfaces such as glass or metal. Objective: To determine the predominant fingerprint pattern in and around Mandya district. The present study was conducted at department of Forensic Medicine Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya from 1st January to 31st January 2019. Total subjects included were 50 Male and 50 Female students. Subjects who were healthy and having normal hands were included in the study. In present study the Ulnar loop was the most frequently observed pattern followed by Plain whorl, in the total subject population in all ten digits. The least frequently observed pattern in the total population were Simple arches, twinned loops, tented arches, radial loops, accidental types and Exceptional arches both in Male and Female. Fingerprints can be captured as graphical ridge and valley patterns. Because of their uniqueness and permanence, fingerprints emerged as the most widely used biometric identifier in the 2000s. The explosion of availability of information on the Internet requires that libraries evolve into value-added information providers, rather than mere curators of collections. Modern libraries need to stay relevant to a diverse, technologically savvy patron base and to facilitate and add value to the research community, while facing significant resource constraints. To face these challenges, libraries need to embrace digital technologies and library management systems (LMS) in order to work smart and achieve more with less. While LMS systems have been around for decades, libraries can explore the new frontier by embracing open source solutions, like open source software (OSS) library systems, which are free to acquire. They need to collaborate with computer experts and become technologically savvy to harness the full power of OSS solutions to meet the specific needs of the library and patron base. In the last few years, numerous remote user authentication and session key agreement schemes have been put forwarded for Telecare Medical Information System, where the patient and medical server exchange medical information using Internet. We have found that most of the schemes are not usable for practical applications due to known security weaknesses. It is also worth to note that unrestricted number of patients login to the single medical server across the globe. Therefore, the computation and maintenance overhead would be high and the server may fail to provide services. In this article, we have designed a medical system architecture and a standard mutual authentication scheme for single medical server, where the patient can securely exchange medical data with the doctor(s) via trusted central medical server over any insecure network. We then explored the security of the scheme with its resilience to attacks. Moreover, we formally validated the proposed scheme through the simulation using Automated Validation of Internet Security Schemes and Applications software whose outcomes confirm that the scheme is protected against active and passive attacks. The performance comparison demonstrated that the proposed scheme has lower communication cost than the existing schemes in literature. In addition, the computation cost of the proposed scheme is nearly equal to the exiting schemes. The proposed scheme not only efficient in terms of different security attacks, but it also provides an efficient login, mutual authentication, session key agreement and verification and password update phases along with password recovery. Recently, many authentication protocols have been presented using smartcard for the telecare medicine information system (TMIS). In 2014, Xu et al. put forward a two-factor mutual authentication with key agreement protocol using elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). However, the authors have proved that the protocol is not appropriate for practical use as it has many problems (1) it fails to achieve strong authentication in login and authentication phases; (2) it fails to update the password correctly in the password change phase; (3) it fails to provide the revocation of lost/stolen smartcard; and (4) it fails to protect the strong replay attack. We then devised an anonymous and provably secure two-factor authentication protocol based on ECC. Our protocol is analyzed with the random oracle model and demonstrated to be formally secured against the hardness assumption of computational Diffie-Hellman problem.
