In this work, three N'-arylidene-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazide (3a-3c), derivatives have been synthesized and fully characterized by IR, 1H & 13C NMR and ESI-MS using experimental and theoretical methods. Theoretical calculations were carried out by DFT/B3LYP method using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. For theoretical IR, 1H & 13C NMR (with GIAO method), MEP, HOMO-LUMO energies analyses of compounds 3a-3c were performed over the optimized structures. All newly synthesized compounds were screened for their cytotoxicity, proylenpeptidase and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities. Compounds 3c showed significant anticancer activity against lung cancer cell line (H460) with the IC50 value 0.15 ± 0.01 µM. The other compounds exhibited prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) activity. Compounds 3a and 3c have demonstrated a potent α-glucosidase inhibitory activity with the IC50 value 360.4 ± 0.7 µM and 370.3 ± 1.17 µM, respectively. Furthermore, in-silico based molecular docking study was performed between the title ligands and lung cancer cell line-H460 protein: 1M17. The best affinity bond was observed between compound 3c and the protein 1M17 with an energy of −8.6 (kcal/mol), an inhibition constant of 0.496769 μM and an active hydrogen bond to three.

We investigated the effect of fluorination of a nanocomposite photocatalyst on phenol photodegradation. We synthesized a new photocatalyst (SG750, SBET = 16.58 m2 g−1) by a sol–gel route, using titanium (IV) tetrabutoxide- and pyrophyllite-type clay, respectively, as precursor and support. The samples were characterized by FTIR, XRD, BET, SEM and DRS UV–Vis techniques. A fluorinated photocatalyst (F-SG750, SBET = 13.32 m2g−1) was synthesized with properties unlike other fluorinated photocatalysts reported in the literature. The results obtained prove that, contrary to other investigations in which the generation of free hydroxyl radicals (·OHfr) was increased with the fluorinated photocatalysts, in F-SG750 it resulted from the generation of surface hydroxyl radicals (·OHsf), which considerably increased. Consequently, the title photocatalyst gave rise to a higher photodegradation rate constant of phenol (kapp) than SG750. The response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the operational parameters in the phenol photodegradation under UV light with F-SG750 based on the composite central design (CCD). Optimal operational parameters were found to be a solution pH of 5, photocatalyst amount of 2.5 gL−1, hydrogen peroxide concentration of 8 mmol.L−1, temperature of 40 °C. Operating at optimized parameters, total degradation, 91% mineralization and non-toxicity were found, at 50 mgL−1 phenol during 2 h of degradation.

The degradation and mineralization of phenol have been studied by means of photocatalysis process using UV light (λmax ≈ 365 nm). The investigated nanocompositephotocatalyst TiO2-Py(750) (SBET=16.58 m2.g− 1), with mixed phases of Anatase and Rutile (52.2/10.7), have been sol-gel synthetized and calcined at 750 °C using a decarbonatedpyrophyllite as layered clay and titanium (IV) t-butoxide, Ti(OCH2CH2CH2CH3)4as precursor. Best results were achieved with TiO2-Py(750), which showed great photo-activity than that of labe-made TiO2 ECT1023t and commercial TiO2AEROXIDE®P25. The influences of different operating parameters, like pH, H2O2 concentration, photocatalyst dose, on the photodegradation of phenol by UV/TiO2-Py(750) system were examined. The TiO2-Py(750) showed total degradation, detoxification and good TOC mineralization at optimum conditions (pH = 5, [H2O2] = 10 mmol.L− 1, m = 2 g.L− 1). The toxicity analysis was carriedout based on the inhibition of bioluminescence of the marine bacteria Vibrio fischeri. The title photocatalysts have been investigated by UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and BET specific surface area.

Epoxy nanocomposite coatings are an essential way to protect petroleum storage tanks from corrosion. For this purpose, the new nanocomposite epoxy coatings (P-M/epoxy composites) have been successfully designed. The P-M/epoxy composites are based on the metal vanadium oxy-phosphate M0.5VOPO4 (where M = Mg, Ni, and Zn). The function of P-M/epoxy composites as anti-corrosion coatings was explored using electrochemical and mechanical tests. Using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), it has been noticed that the pore resistance and polarization resistance of the P-M/epoxy composites remain higher as compared to the neat epoxy. The P-M/epoxy composites have the greatest impact on the cathodic dis-bonded area and water absorption. Besides, P-M/epoxy composites exhibit a very high order of mechanical properties. Further, Mg0.5VOPO4 has the greatest effect on the anti-corrosion properties of epoxy coating followed by Zn0.5VOPO4 and Ni0.5VOPO4. All these properties lead to developing effective anti-corrosion coatings. Thus, the net result from this research work is highly promising and provides a potential for future works on the anti-corrosion coating.

A local perlite mineral (P1) was used to remove the industrial dyes Remazole Brilliant 19 (RB19) and Drimarene Yellow (YD) from an aqueous solution. Prior to any investigation, P1 was characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis, and electrophoretic mobility in order to establish the adsorption behavior-properties relationship. We used a sequential methodology of factorial design of experiments (DOE) and response surface methodology (RSM) to evaluate experimental variables that influence the adsorption process. Under optimal conditions, removals of RB19 and YD were achieved at respectively 95% and 88%. The validity of the process was justified by the values of three statistical indicators: Fisher’s high value (F = 58.79 for RB19, F = 34.82 for YD), the probability P (P ≤ 0.001 for DY and RB19) and the coefficient of determination R2 (0.9674 for YD and 0.9821 for RB19). The mass transfer of RB19 and YD at the solution/adsorbent interface was described using a pseudo-second-order rate law. The adsorption process for RB19 was endothermic, while it is exothermic for YD. The phyto-toxicity was also investigated to evaluate the toxicity level of YD and RB19 before and after sorption on P1 material. Overall P1 is very attractive as an efficient, low-cost and eco-friendly sorbent for the remediation of hazardous organic pollutants in industrial effluents.

Bioactive powders of the binary SiO2-CaO, ternary SiO2-CaO-P2O5 and quaternary systems SiO2-CaO-P2O5-Na2O/Mg2O were synthesized using a sol-gel route. The gels were converted into bioglasses powders by heat treatments at the temperature of 700°C. The resulting materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy (ESEM) and in vitro bioactivity in acellular Simulated Body Fluid (SBF). The in vitro tests showed that the samples had good apatite-forming ability. Glasses doped with sodium and magnesium show good results in terms of bioactivity and mechanical properties. The results showed that the quaternary glass SiO2-CaO-P2O5-Na2O containing Na is the most bioactive, only 6 hours after its immersion in SBF; a layer of hydroxycarbonated apatite (HAC) was deposited on the glass and compressive strength of up to 233.08 MPa with a porosity of 11.02%, due to the presence of the Na2Ca2Si3O9 phase. Magnesium also affects bioactivity because it has improved from binary to ternary to quaternary doped with magnesium, bioactive from 12h of contact with the SBF.

The copper complex [Cu2(Bipy)2(H2O)2(C2O4)(NO3)2] (Bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine; C2O42− = oxalate) has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and FTIR spectroscopy. The structure determination revealed that the title compound contains centrosymmetric doubly charged dinuclear oxalato-bridged copper(II) complex cations, nitrate counter ions and water molecules. In this complex, the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis-bidentate bridging mode to the copper atoms. Each Cu(II) atom has a distorted tetragonal–bipyramidal environment, being coordinated by two N atoms of a chelating 2,2′-bipyridine ligand and two O atoms of the doubly deprotonated oxalate anion. Pairs of monodentate nitrate anions and aqua ligands are linked to the metallic cations in an axial position. The H-bonds occurring in the crystal structure result in the formation of 2D supramolecular chains and 3D networks. The Hirshfeld surface analysis of the complex has shown the presence of strong O–H…O and C–H…O hydrogen bonds together with non-classical weak C–H…π, π…π, π…lp/lp…π and lp …lp interactions. Furthermore, the theoretical calculations results are in agreement with the experimental geometric parameters. The NMR spectra and the MEP maps were also calculated.

A novel pyrazole-based Co(II) complex, namely dichloro-tetrakis(1H-pyrazole)-cobalt(II), was synthesized and characterized. Its X-ray crystal structure showed that it crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group with discrete [CoPz4Cl2] units held together via intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The non-covalent interactions were explicitly analyzed by means of the topological and Hirshfeld surface analyses, revealing the presence of 0-periodic binodal 1,6-connected 1,6M7–1 and 14-connected uninodal bcu–x topologies built up through N—H…Cl and C—H…Cl hydrogen-bonding networks in addition to weak non-classical H…H, Nsingle bondH…C, Csingle bondH…N, N—H…π, π…lp/lp…π and lp…lp interactions. Additionally, interactions energy and energy frameworks analyses were performed in order to compute the total energies of the possible intermolecular interactions. The empty space in the crystal lattice was analyzed using void mapping which lead to the presence of small cavities. The structure was furthermore optimized showing a very good agreement with the experimental results, the molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) maps were obtained with their active regions and the non-linear optical properties estimated. Additionally, the optical properties of the title complex were investigated at room temperature using optical UV-visible absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy, exhibiting π → π*, n → π*, d → d and ligand-field transitions which result in a large variety of emission bands predominant by a bright red photoluminescence. An in silico study was carried out and the binding ability of the title complex with Staphylococcus aureus tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase and Pyrococcus kodakaraensis aspartyl-tRNA synthetase was evaluated displaying a good inhibition activity towards the last one., Funding was provided by the General Direction of research and development technologies/Ministry of Higher Education and Research Sciences DGRSDT/MESRS, Algeria. The objective of this study was to perform phytochemical screening, estimate the total phenolics and flavonoids, and to evaluate the antioxidant potential of Tomborissa comorensis fruit. The dried and pulverized fruit of Tomborissa comorensis (150 g) were extracted exhaustively by the Soxhlet method with increasing polarity of solvents (hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol). Folin–Ciocalteu reagent and aluminum chloride colorimetric methods were used to estimate the total phenolic and flavonoid content of the extracts. Three different methods, namely, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity, reducing power scavenging activity (FRAP), and total antioxidant capacity, were used to determine in vitro antioxidant activity. Phytochemical screening concerns the presence of flavonoids in the ethyl acetate and methanol extracts and tannins only on the methanol extract. The total phenolic and flavonoid content results show greater dominance in the methanol extract. All tests showed significant dose-dependent antioxidant activities. The ethyl acetate extract shows high activity in DPPH radical scavenging activity, but in a reducing power assay, it is the methanol extract that manifested high activity. The results of this study show that the fruit of T. comorensis is a rich source of phenolic compounds that can play an important role in preventing the progression of many diseases.

This study is planned to perform phytochemical screening, evaluate antioxidant activity and assess total phenolics and flavonoids content of methanolic and ethyl acetate extracts from the leaves of Stachys germanica subs cordigera briq. The dried powdered leaves of Stachys germanica subs cordigera briq (80 g) were extracted exhaustively by Soxhlet apparatus with increasing polarity of solvents (hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol). The total phenol and flavonoid contents in the methanolic and ethyl acetate extracts were determined by using the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent and aluminum chloride method, respectively. The antioxidant activities were examined by three different methods, namely 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity, reducing power scavenging activity (FRAP) and total antioxidant capacity. Phytochemical analysis of all extracts showed the presence of major classes of phytochemicals such as, flavonoids, tannins and polyphenols. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents results are showed in a large dominance in ethyl acetate extract. In vitro antioxidant activities of both extracts (ethyl acetate and methanol) were significant and ethyl acetate extract showed a higher potency than reference antioxidant Butylated Hydroxy Toluene (BHT) in total antioxidant capacity essay. It can be concluded that the crude extracts from the leaves of Stachys germanica subs cordigera briq. are a potential source of natural antioxidants which can be used in preventing the progression of many diseases.

The title compound, 4,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)-2-phenyl-2-oxazoline 2, a well-known substance, was resynthesized in high yields through a conventional method. The structure of compound 2 was characterized for the first time by a single-crystal X-ray structure determination. The compound was further established through NMR spectroscopy (1D and 2D). In the molecular packing, two molecules of 4,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)-2-phenyl-2-oxazoline interact through H-Bonds to define “dimers” in which phenyl groups interact especially using π…π contact.

We successfully synthesized an efficient photoactive pyrophyllite/TiO2 heterostructures using a sol-gel route at ambient temperature. The samples were prepared by exfoliation of a pyrophyllite layered-type clay by TiO2. The prepared samples exhibited strong photocatalytic activity for the degradation of phenol. The heterostructure PTi750 (SBET = 16.58 m2/g) calcined at 750 °C, in which the mixed phases of anatase and rutile exist (52.2% anatase/10.7% rutile), showed the highest photocatalytic activity against commercial TiO2 Aeroxide P25. The methanol washed PTi750 was 5 times faster than the corresponding unwashed sample; phenol was totally degraded with a TOC reduction of 89.2%. The materials have been characterized by: X-ray diffraction (XRD), Diffuse reflectance UV–vis spectrophotometry (UV–Vis DRS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and BET specific surface area.

We report on the successful synthesis of diammonium magnesium dihydrogendiphosphate (V) dihydrate compound (NH4)2Mg(H2P2O7)2•2H2O using a wet chemical route. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and micro Raman spectroscopy are employed to characterize the compound. We demonstrate, using a multidisciplinary approach, that this compound is ideal for carbon dioxide (CO2) capture in addition to other anthropogenic gasses. We show here -from both an experimental as well as from a density functional theory (DFT) calculations routes- the potential for adopting this compound into domestic air-conditioning units (ACUs). From these experiments, the resistance to bacterial growth is also investigated, which is critical for the adoption of this compound in ACUs. Our compound exhibits a higher methane (CH4) sorptivity as compared to CO2 at 25 °C and 45 °C under pressures up to 50 bars. Furthermore, DFT electronic structure calculations are used to compute the main structural and electronic properties of the compound, taking into consideration the characteristics of the identified pores as a function of the progressive CO2 vs. CH4 loadings. Finally, the antibacterial assay reveals a strong antibacterial activity against the tested Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, with a large zone of inhibition against the tested E. Coli, S. Aureus and K. Pneumonia.

The synthesis and characterization of new functionalized bipyrazolic compounds namely 1,6-Bis(3′-ethoxycarbonyl-5′-methyl-l '-pyrazolyl) hexane (2), 1,6-Bis(3′-hydroxymethyl-5′-methyl-l '-pyrazolyl) hexane (3) and 1,6- Bis(3′-carboxyl-5′-methyl-l '-pyrazolyl) hexane (4) were reported. The antibacterial activity against two Gram positive and two Gram negative bacteria was also investigated. Quantum calculations using DFT method have been performed to determine the structure activity relationship (SAR). The molecular electrostatic potential surface (MEPS) evidenced the favorable effect of the presence of an electrophilic site in enhancing the antibacterial activity of such compounds.

Pyrophyllite–TiO2 nanocomposite PTi750 was successfully synthesized using a sol–gel method at ambient temperature based on exfoliation of the pyrophyllite layered clay by incorporation of the TiO2 precursor titanium(IV) t-butoxide. PTi750 exhibited higher photocatalytic activity in phenol degradation compared with commercial TiO2 Aeroxide P25. Ag-photodeposited PTi750 was more photoactive than PTi750, exhibiting detoxification, total degradation, and good mineralization of polluted solution and excellent stability after five reuses at optimal conditions in terms of the parameters pH, H2O2 concentration, and photocatalyst amount. The nanocomposites were investigated using several techniques, viz. diffuse-reflectance ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectrophotometry, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) specific surface area measurements.

The synthesis of three macrocycles, containing four pyrazolic units, with different side arms is described and the crystal structure of one of the intermediate compounds is also presented. The complexing properties of these compounds towards alkaline metal ions (Cs+, K+, Na+ and Li+) was studied by the liquid–liquid extraction process. The percentage values of extraction were determined by atomic absorption measurements and UV spectroscopy. These macrocycles extract selectively K+ and highlight the good effect of using a long side chain bearing a donor group, on the percentage of extraction of the alkali cations K+, Na+ and Li+. They also showed a good antibacterial against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms with minimum inhibitory concentrations at the range of 32–64 μg/mL.

Heterogeneous Fenton-like reactions on pillared clays were investigated for the degradation of 4-Nitrophenol (4-NP). A Box–Behnken Design coupled with response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to evaluate and optimize the important variables. In this process, copper-pillared clays were prepared by intercalation of a Moroccan Bentonite and tested in the catalytic wet peroxide oxidation of 4-NP. The prepared catalysts were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). A significant quadratic model (P-value < 0.0008, R2 = 0.9526) was derived using analysis of variance (ANOVA), which was adequate to perform the process variables optimization. More than 90% of 4-NP was experimentally degraded after 4 h of reaction time under the optimum conditions. The model predicted maximum removal of 98.66% of 4-NP under the optimum conditions of operational parameters (9.48 mM peroxide concentration, 0.325 g L−1 catalyst dose and 51 ℃).

[Co(H2P2O7)2(H2O)2][(CH3)3C-NH3]2·2H2O, a new organically templated dihydrogen-pyrophosphate compound, was synthesized and characterized. The crystal structure was determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction data; [Co(H2P2O7)2(H2O)2][(CH3)3C-NH3]2·2H2O crystallizes in orthorhombic space group Cmce (n 64), Z = 4, a = 11.9 642(10), b = 9.1565(8), c = 24.488(2), V = 2682.7(4) A3. Final agreement factors for the refined structure model are R/Rw (%) were 3.96/9.12. The open framework of [Co(H2P2O7)2(H2O)2][(CH3)3C-NH3]2·2H2O might be described as phosphor-metallic slabs, made of isolated octahedrons [Co(H2P2O7)2(H2O)2], which interact through intra-slab H-bonds, while inter-slabs H-bonds ensure the interactions of neighbouring slabs. The inter-slabs host the counter ion [(CH3)3C-NH3)]+ ions and H2O molecules. Raman and FTIR spectra of the newly synthesized compound confirm the structural data obtained by X-Ray diffraction. The complementary information about vibrational modes prove the presence and the coordination of the phosphates as well as the organic moieties. UV–Vis spectrophotometry provide evidence of d-d transitions that are typically found in octahedral Co(II) compounds. In the visible region, the electronic spectrum is dominated by a well resolved strong band at 505 nm assigned to the spin allowed transition 4T1g(F) →4T1g(P), and a shoulder at about 460 nm which is assigned to 4T1g(F) →4A2g(F) transition that is manifold splitted due to multiplet coupling.

NaCo(H2PO2)3 was synthesized in solution and its structure was studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the cubic space group P213 (#198), Z = 4, a = 9.2563(16) A, V = 793.1(2) A3. Final residual factors of the refined structure model R/Rw were 0.0367/0.0941. The cations Na+ and Co2+ are both octahedrally coordinated. [NaO6] and [CoO6] share edges to form channels propagating along [1,−1, −1] with the [H2PO2] pseudo-pyramids adjusted inside the channels to the above mentioned octahedra. The IR and Raman spectroscopic studies show the expected bands of the hypophosphite anion. NaCo(H2PO2)3 did not show any electrochemical activity under the electrochemical test conditions (2.4–4.5 V vs. Na/Na+).

The synthesis of two macrocycles containing two bipyrazolic subunits, with different side arms is reported. These structures were characterised by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The macrocycle bearing a hydroxyl group in the side arms, crystallizes in triclinic (S.G.: P-1) systems, with the unit cell parameters: [11.3086(4), 13.6865(5), 14.6311(5), 108.774(3), 105.408(3), 107.131(3), V=1879.28(15) A3]. It possesses 3D crystal structure with molecules interacting through weak H-bonds. The complexing properties of new macrocycles towards alkaline metal ions (Li+, Na+, K+ and Cs+) were studied by a liquid–liquid extraction process. The percentage values of extraction were determined by atomic absorption measurements and UV spectroscopy. Their macrocyclic cavities are better adapted to extract the Cs+ cation. The macrocycle with side chains bearing donor groups shows the best extraction due to its participation in complexation.

NiCl2(H2O)(C12N2H8) was synthesized in solution and its structure was studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system (S. G.: P21/n), Z = 4, with the cell parameters (A, °): a = 12.6640(5), b = 6.8322(3), c = 14.2054(5) and β = 93.569(3). The final residual factors of the refined structure model R/Rω were 0.031/0.082 for 2156 independent reflexions and 172 parameters. The crystal structure is described in terms of Ni2Cl4(H2O)2(Phen)2 dimmers interacting through weak intermolecular O H…Cl Hydrogen bonds. The 2D fingerprint plots, built using the Hirshfeld surface analysis, helped analyzing and quantifying all the intermolecular contacts and revealed the main intermolecular interactions around the title complex. The computational investigation was undertaken at M06–2X/6–31G(d)(LANL2DZ) level by using Gaussian.

Crystals of HTmP2O7·3H2O were prepared via a soft chemistry route. Its crystal structure was solved from single-crystal diffraction data. The compound crystallises in the triclinic space group P-1, with the unit cell parameters: a = 6.3724(4) A, b = 6.8224(3) A, c = 9.7299(5) A, α = 82.039(4) °, β = 79.758(5) °, γ = 88.200(4) ° and Z = 2. In its lamellar structure, edge-sharing polyhedra of eightfold coordinated Tm(III) form chains along [010]. These chains are joined in turn to each other using pyrophosphates O-P-O bridges. A network of O H…O hydrogen bonds reinforces the cohesion of the structure. The IR spectrum of HTmP2O7·3H2O is interpreted on the basis of characteristic vibrations of PO3 group, POP bridge, and in addition, H2O. The optical properties of HTmP2O7·3H2O were analysed with UV–Vis. The spectrum is characterized by bands corresponding to the transitions starting from the 3H6 ground state to the different higher levels 1G4, 3F2, 3F3, 3H5, and 3F4 of Tm3+ ion.

A new one-dimensional coordination polymer [(N2H5)2Co(HPO4)2] was synthesized by slow evaporation method and characterized by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Its catalytic activity was tested using UV–visible absorption measurements. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system (S.G: P21/c) with the cell parameters (A, °): a = 5.3665(3), b = 11.1271(6), c = 7.7017(4), β = 104.843(4), V = 444.55(4) A3 and Z = 2. The crystal structure, consisting of a linear chain, is made of rings of [CoN2O4] octahedra and [PO3(OH)] tetrahedra sharing vertices via oxygen atoms coordinated to cobalt centers. The rings are linked to chains running along [100] and form thereby polymeric chains that are connected by hydrogen bonds in a three-dimensional arrangement. The FTIR spectroscopy shows the expected bands of hydrazine and phosphate groups. The thermal behavior consists mainly of the loss of hydrazine moieties leading thus to the formation of anhydrous cobalt phosphate. The phosphate complex exhibits efficiency in catalytic oxidation and degradation of methylene blue dye. The ac magnetic susceptibility shows a peak indicating antiferromagnetic order with a Neel temperature of 5.5 K. Fitting the Curie-Weiss equation to the ac magnetic susceptibility above 50 K gives the average Curie-Weiss Constant to be −11.8 K.
