Abstract

Myanmar's garment industry is one of the most important sectors for sustainable development and creates a number of formal jobs for women. The Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association estimates that its nearly 600 member factories employ approximately 500,000 workers. The combination of inexpensive labour and strict adherence to product quality are two important factors that make Myanmar an attractive place to outsource for garment products. Profitability of the garment industry depends on the productivity and quality improvement. Therefore, the quality improvement is vital in a garment industry. This paper is about the study on the quality of puffer jacket production in Zhejiang Clothing Co., Ltd. The main aim of this paper is to improve the product quality using total quality management (TQM) tools (Check sheet, Histogram, Pareto chart, cause and effect diagram). Case study methodology was applied step-by-step procedure. Data Collection and observation were done in the selected production line where the most defects were found. Then the TQM tools were applied to reduce the defects for the product quality improvement. After applying the proposed methodology, the Defect per hundred-unit (DHU) percentages were compared in terms of initial and final states and it was analyzed that there was a 66.762% decrease in Defect per hundred unit (DHU). These observations indicate that an industry can achieve increase productivity by improving quality constraints by minimizing rework activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

International audience; Damaged DNA bases are removed by the base excision repair (BER) mechanism. This enzymatic process begins with the action of one of DNA glycosylases, which recognize damaged DNA bases and remove them by hydrolyzing N-glycosidic bonds with the formation of apurinic/apyrimidinic (AP) sites. Apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1 (APE1) hydrolyzes the phosphodiester bond on the 5′-side of the AP site with generation of the single-strand DNA break. A decrease in the functional activity of BER enzymes is associated with the increased risk of cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and oncological diseases. In this work, we developed a fluorescence method for measuring the activity of key human DNA glycosylases and AP endonuclease in cell extracts. The efficacy of fluorescent DNA probes was tested using purified enzymes; the most efficient probes were tested in the enzymatic activity assays in the extracts of A549, MCF7, HeLa, WT-7, HEK293T, and HKC8 cells. The activity of enzymes responsible for the repair of AP sites and removal of uracil and 5,6-dihydrouracil residues was higher in cancer cell lines as compared to the normal HKC8 human kidney cell line.; Les bases d'ADN endommagées sont éliminées par le mécanisme de réparation par excision de base (BER). Abstract

'Hayabusa (MUSES-C: Asteroid Sample-return Spacecraft)' succeeded in the touchdown to the asteroid 'Itokawa' on November 2005. In this paper, the Automatization and Autonomy (onboard feedback) of DHU (Data Handling Unit)/AOCU (Attitude and Orbit Control Unit) and real time operation (operator feedback), which were used in the touchdown phase, are summarized, and how these functions worked together in order to accomplish a purpose is described., 「はやぶさ(MUSES-C: Asteroid Sample-return Spacecraft)」は、2005年11月に、小惑星イトカワへのタッチダウンを成功させた。そこで駆使されたDHU(Data Handling Unit)/AOCU(Attitude and Orbit Control Unit)の自動化機能、自律化機能(オンボードフィードバック)、リアルタイムオペレーション(人間の判断によるフィードバック)についてまとめ、それらがどのように有機的に組み合わされることにより、目的が達成されたかを述べる。

Abstract

After the completion of the Hayabusa (MUSES-C: Asteroid Sample-return Spacecraft) touchdown operation onto the asteroid Itokawa, the telemetry link with the Earth station was interrupted due to the spacecraft attitude loss, of which reason was thought to be the attitude disturbance by the onboard RCS (Reaction Control System) fuel leak. When the radio beacon was acquired four days after the loss, the spacecraft was in a condition that RCS thrusters normally used for the attitude control were not working. Then, to cope with this circumstance Hayabusa operation team developed the attitude control scheme which utilizes the weak thrust generated by the cold Xenon gas ejection from ion engine neutralizer nozzles. The adopted scheme enabled the attitude control, the telemetry link recover and the Earth/Sun tracking. In this paper the newly developed attitude control using cold Xenon gas jet is outlined and the operation result up to the present is reported., タッチダウン運用終了後、小惑星探査機「はやぶさ(MUSES-C: Asteroid Sample-return Spacecraft)」は燃料リークが原因と思われる外乱により姿勢を喪失し地上との通信リンクが途絶えた。再度ビーコンが受信できるようになった時には、通常姿勢制御に使用するRCS (Reaction Control System)スラスターが使えない状態にあった。はやぶさ運用チームはイオンエンジンの中和器からキセノンガスを噴射することで得られる微弱な推力を使った姿勢制御方式を開発した。これにより探査機の姿勢維持、テレメトリーの復旧、地球/太陽追尾の運用が可能となった。本レポートでは、これらの制御の概要と現在までの運用結果について述べる。
