Smartphone users' satisfaction is related to several factors of interaction that represent criteria evaluated in the choice of the operating system. This paper investigates the usage satisfaction of Android, iOS and Windows Phone mobile operating systems users' and deals with multicriteria decision making. A survey was applied and 314 answers were obtained. The evaluated criteria and the scores obtained through the survey were the initial parameters for the multicriteria decision-making method TOPSIS. The method classified the three alternatives based on preferences over screen, terminology, learning and system capabilities. The iOS was the best classied in the proposed evaluations. Android got the second place in the Screen factors. In the others, Windows Phone was second and Android was third. A small variation in the weights did not change the order of classification found. Although ranking should reflect the decision makers preference, further investigations can be carried out using the TOPSIS method and its relationship to mobile devices interface.

Background: Plant lectins have long been used in biomedical research as immunomodulators against tumor cells and microbial infections.Purpose: To test the ability of plant lectins ConBr (Canavalia brasiliensis) and CFL (Cratylia argentea) to activate antimicrobial and immunomodulatory activities of murine peritoneal macrophages (pMØ) infected with a virulent strain of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium (STm).Methods: We incubated pMØ with non-toxic amounts of ConBr and CFL either before (preventive schedule) or after (curative schedule) exposure to STm.Results: In uninfected pMØ, ConBr and CFL greatly increased levels of mRNA transcripts for IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-6 and the inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOs), but not IL-10 and IL-12. Exposure to naïve splenocytes of culture supernatants of pMØ previously stimulated with CFL resulted in expression of IL-12 and IFN-γ. Both preventive and curative treatment schedules significantly reduced the intracellular load of Salmonella. Experiments in infected macrophages exposed to lectins in the preventive schedule showed that mRNA transcripts for IL-6 and TNF-α were increased by CFL, whereas ConBr enhanced IL-12 (subunit p40). In the curative schedule, CFL induced significant expression of IL-12 (p40) whereas ConBr enhanced expression IL-1β and TNF-α genes. The lectin treatments did not influence on iNOs expression in pMØ infected with STm C5 regardless of the treatment schedule. Curative treatments with CFL increased approximately 130-fold expression of TLR-4 whist expression of TLR-9 was increased by treatments with ConBr.Conclusion: We conclude that lectins ConBr and CFL have immunomodulatory properties that are beneficial on control of cells infected by Salmonella. Introduction: Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a genetically and clinically heterogeneous disorder caused by disruption of type I collagen synthesis. Previous Brazilian molecular OI studies have been restricted to case reports or small cohorts. The Brazilian OI Network (BOIN) is a multicenter study collecting clinical OI treatment data from five reference centers in three regions of Brazil., Objective: To describe the molecular analysis of a large cohort of OI registered at BOIN., Methods: Targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) was performed at a centralized laboratory with the Ion Torrent platform, covering 99.6 % of the coding regions of 18 OI-associated genes. Clinical information was obtained from a clinical database., Results: We included 156 subjects in the molecular analyses. Variants were detected in 121 subjects: 65 (53.7 %) in COL1A1, 42 (34.7 %) in COL1A2, 2 (1.7 %) in IFITM5, one (0.8 %) in CRTAP, three (2.5 %) in P3H1, two (1.7 %) in PPIB, four (3.3 %) FKBP10, one (0.8 %) in SERPINH1, and one (0.8 %) in TMEM38B. Ninety-one distinct variants were identified, of which 26 were novel. Of the 107 variants identified in COL1A1 and COL1A2, 24.5 % cause mild OI, while the remaining 75.5 % cause moderate, severe, or lethal OI, of which 49.3 % are glycine to serine substitutions. A single variant in FKBP10 (c.179A>C; p.Gln60Pro) was found in three unrelated and non-consanguineous participants living in the same geographic area in Northeast Brazil, suggesting a possible founder effect., Conclusion: Consistent with the literature, 88.4 % of the subjects had a variant in the COL1A1 and COL1A2 genes, with 10 % inherited in an autosomal recessive manner. Notably, one variant in FKBP10 with a potential founder effect requires further investigation.
