Several alkyl glucosides exhibit various bioactivities. 1-Octyl β- d -glucopyranoside produced by organic synthesis is used as a nonionic surfactant. However, no convenient method has been developed for the selective production of alkyl α-glucosides (α-AGs), such as 1-octyl α- d -glucopyranoside (α-OG). Therefore, we developed a simple method for selective production of α-AGs using the glucosyl transfer enzyme XgtA, (E.C. 3.2.1.20), derived from Xanthomonas campestris WU-9701. When 0.80 M alkyl alcohol and 2.5 units XgtA were incubated in 2.0 mL of 30 mM HEPES-NaOH buffer (pH 8.0) containing 1.2 M maltose at 45 °C, a specific α-AG corresponding to each alkyl alcohol (C2–C10) was detected. Under the standard conditions, we examined the selective production of α-OG from 1-octanol and maltose using XgtA. The reaction product was isolated and identified as α-OG via 1H nuclear magnetic resonance and nuclear overhauser effect spectroscopy analyses. No other glucosylated products, such as maltotriose, were detected in the reaction mixture. Under the standard conditions at 45 °C for 96 h, 243 mM α-OG (71 g/L) was produced in one batch production. Moreover, the addition of glucose isomerase to the reaction mixture decreased the concentration of glucose released via the reaction and increased the amount of α-OG produced; 359 mM α-OG (105 g/L) was maximally produced at 96 h. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the selective production of α-AGs using a simple enzymatic reaction, and XgtA has the potential to selectively produce various α-AGs. Ethyl α- d -glucopyranoside (α-EG) is detected in sake (Japanese rice wine), that has moisturizing and skin conditioning effects. The production of α-EG by fermentation or enzymatic synthesis to date generates unwanted by-products such as maltooligosaccharides and/or organic acids. In this study, we employed a reaction involving selective α-glucosylation of ethanol by the α-glucosyl transfer enzyme (XgtA) of Xanthomonas campestris WU-9701. Under standard conditions, when 0.80 M ethanol and 1.2 M maltose were used as substrates with XgtA (2.5 units) and incubated in 30 mM HEPES–NaOH buffer (pH 8.0) at 45°C, only one form of ethyl glucopyranoside was selectively obtained as a product. The isolated product was identified as ethyl α- d -glucopyranoside by 1H NMR, 1H–1H COSY, and NOESY analyses. In the reaction mixture, other glucosylated products such as maltotriose and ethylmaltoside were not detected. Under optimum conditions, 180 mM (37.5 g/L) α-EG was produced in one batch production for 80 h. Further, the reaction rate of α-EG production decreased with an increase in glucose, especially more than 500 mM. In contrast, the addition of glucose isomerase decreased the concentration of glucose and was useful for maintaining a glucose concentration of less than 500 mM in the reaction mixture. Thus, owing to the enzymatic reaction with XgtA and glucose isomerase, as much as 260 mM (54.1 g/L) α-EG was produced in one batch production for 100 h. • All dispersants considered acted in synergy with resins in peptizing asphaltenes. • Ionic liquid yielded the best dispersing power and the highest self-association. • Significant electron-withdrawing sites were main contributors to dispersing power. • Steric hinderance associated with molecular structure affected dispersing behavior. In confronting the global climate change, reusing waste asphalt materials stands out as a key strategy for the transportation sector to preserve natural resources and reduce the carbon footprint. Recycling additives or rejuvenators are usually required in this practice, especially for boosting the recycling rate. Given the imperative need for a general compositional design principle of rejuvenators, we previously proposed an innovative formulation concept by combining softeners with asphaltene dispersants, and reported that the use of dispersants largely reduced the total quantity of rejuvenators needed and thus would minimize the environmental impacts. The present study is aimed for probing the molecular mechanisms underlying this observation, with additional interest focused on the synergistic effect of the dispersants with resins and also on the impacts due to their self-association. Selection of representative materials consisted of three types of dispersants including an ionic liquid, a phenolic amphiphile, and an ester plasticizer, in combination with an aromatic oil as the softener. Long-time molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was employed to inspect the aggregation of asphaltenes. Quantum chemical (QC) computation was performed to provide insights into the source of different dispersing behaviors. The results indicated that the three dispersants all acted in concert with resins in dispersing asphaltenes. The dispersion characteristics of asphaltenes could be viewed as a net result of the two competing mechanisms of the dispersing capability and self-association of the dispersant used. The ionic liquid exhibited much higher propensity to self-association at increasing concentrations than the phenolic dispersant, and yet the optimum performance was achieved for both when they were added at low dosages. The ester plasticizer showed minimal self-association and yielded improved dispersion with increasing concentrations. In all cases, the dispersing functionality mainly originated from the presence or formation of significant electron-withdrawing sites, collectively due to the highly electronegative cation and anion, hydrogen bonding, and polar groups. Comparison of the dispersing power was also conducted from different perspectives. Accurate prediction of the rate of penetration (ROP) is a difficult issue in the drilling process, especially under complex formation conditions. Many methods, such as mechanism and machine learning, were introduced to investigate it. However, most of them are offline prediction methods which may not be capable of capturing the online trend of ROP. In this paper, a novel dynamic model for ROP prediction is proposed considering the process characteristics, which consists of three stages. In the first stage, the correlations between ROP and eight drilling parameters are analyzed, and the rotational speed, weight on bit, depth are selected as the model inputs. In the second stage, the drilling data are pre-processed by using the filtering and re-sampling techniques. In the last stage, the moving window strategy, extreme learning machine, and 10-fold cross validation are used to establish the ROP model. Our main idea of online prediction of ROP lies in this last stage. Specifically, two steps (modeling and prediction) are executed alternately in the moving drilling depth windows so as to predict the ROP more accurately. Finally, the proposed ROP prediction model is applied to the drilling well ZK3 in Xiangyang area, Central China. The prediction accuracy is improved by at least 7% compared with seven well-known ROP prediction methods, two online and five offline, which validates the effectiveness of the proposed method. • Semi-analytic methods are used to solve 3D DPL problems. • Compared with FEM, the semi-analytic method has higher computational efficiency. • The phase lag of heat flow and the phase lag of temperature gradient have influence on the temperature response speed and the formation of temperature field. With the development of picosecond laser technology, the dual-phase-lagging (DPL) model is more suitable to describe the heat transfer problem with micro-scale effect and micro-time effect. In this paper, a three-dimensional dual-phase-lagging heat transfer model for picosecond laser processing is established. Then Fourier transform (FT) and Laplace transform (LT) are used to derive the frequency response functions (FRFs) of the problem in the frequency domain, and the inverse Laplace transform (ILT) and discrete-convolution fast Fourier transform (DC-FFT) algorithm are used to solve the temperature field. The calculation accuracy of this method is verified and the effect of phase lag constants on temperature field is studied. The results show that the semi-analytical method has a high accuracy for solving the dual-phase-lagging heat conduction model, and the phase lag of heat flux will affect the heating rate in the heating stage, and the phase lag of temperature gradient will delay the formation of temperature field. The effect of phase lag constants on temperature-time history is investigated and the related phenomena are explained by using the two-step heat transfer theory. Herein, we describe a flexible strain-temperature sensor fabricated by employing conductive 1D multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), 2D reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and a flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate to construct a sandwich structure. Consequently, the flexible MWCNTs@RGO hybrid film with optimized conductivity exhibits a high gauge factor (GF = 1888) at a strain up to 40 %, prominent long-term durability (8000 cycles at 25 % strain), low strain detection (0.05 %) and rapid response (57 ms). The significantly enhanced performance is attributed to the synergy of tubular MWCNTs and layered RGO, as revealed by finite element analysis. Additionally, the hybrid film sensor exhibits temperature-sensing ability with a typical negative temperature coefficient of resistance and delivers an improved sensitivity upon thermal stimulus via prestrain-induced microcracks and a thermal expansion strategy. Owing to its excellent sensing properties, it can not only detect human motions in various situations but also be adopted as a temperature warning/cooling system, supporting its feasibility for use by patients lacking temperature perception and bringing convenience to daily life. • The aromatic additive was not capable of deagglomerating the asphaltenes due to low polarity and nearly planar structure. • The two polar additives disintegrated the asphaltene dimer by exfoliating off and separating the top monomer. • Hydrogen bonding and the distribution of polar groups were key to deagglomeration. • A single additive molecule yielded temporary dimer disintegration and could not prevent the eventual re-dimerization. Recycling agent plays an increasingly important role in promoting asphalt pavement sustainability, as it allows to bump up the incorporating dosage of recycled asphalt materials. The desired characteristics of a recycling agent includes not only the softening effect but also the capability of deagglomerating the oxidized asphaltenes by effectively interacting with them. The objective of this study was to provide novel insights into the deagglomerating potential of three additives selected based on the structural and compositional discrepancies, including an aromatic extract C 12 H 16 , a bio-additive myristamide C 14 H 29 NO, and a common plasticizer tributyl citrate (TBC) C 18 H 32 O 7. Steered molecular dynamics simulation was performed to obtain the intercalation in which each additive was intercalated between the stacking asphaltene sheets, with the objective to simulate the outcome of blending and mixing. These configurations were then subjected to long-time simulations during which the structural changes and the interactions were tracked. The results indicated that the aromatic extract yielded the least impact on the asphaltene dimer configuration during intercalation and had little deagglomerating effectiveness. Owing to the higher molecular flexibility and polarity, the other two additives produced more pronounced changes in the dimer structure during intercalation. They were able to disintegrate the dimer by exfoliating off and separating an asphaltene monomer, even though the effects were only temporary before re-dimerization occurred. Different types of interactions of the additives with the asphaltenes were visualized based on quantum chemical computations and discussed with respect to their contributions to the deagglomerating behaviors. Multicomponent heterogeneous nanomaterials generally have the potential to exhibit excellent electrochemical performance. Herein, Mn-doped Ni(OH) 2 , NiO and C heterogeneous composites are designed and synthesized by using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as self-sacrificial templates. The synergistic effect brought by the multicomponent heterogeneous composition effectively improves the charge storage capacity, the two-dimensional nanosheet structure provides a large specific surface area, and the graphitic carbon enhances the electrical conductivity. The Mn-Ni(OH) 2 /NiO@C composite as an electrode material exhibits a specific capacity of 732.1 C g−1 at 1 A g−1. Furthermore, the assembled Mn-Ni(OH) 2 /NiO@C//AC HSC device can output 38.0 Wh kg−1 at a power density of 849.2 W Kg−1, with 82.9% retention after 5000 cycles. This study investigated the rejuvenating effectiveness of two plasticizers via rheological evaluation and explored the underlying mechanism by analytical characterizations and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. A conventional plasticizer dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and an environmentally friendly tributyl citrate (TBC) were selected given the discrepancies in their molecular structures. Both plasticizers were effective in restoring the rheological performance of the aged asphalt; TBC was relatively more efficient which was attributed to its higher molecular polarity and the formation of hydrogen bonds with the oxidized asphalt molecules. Analyses based on the gel permeation chromatography and differential scanning calorimetry suggested the capability of the plasticizers in dissociating the oxidized asphalt molecules and improving the molecular mobility. The improved molecular mobility was considered responsible for the reversing effect of the plasticizers, as compared to aging, in terms of widening the relaxation spectrum and broadening the glass transition region. The plasticizers' dissociating effect was confirmed and visualized in the simulations by inspecting their impacts on the spatial arrangement and distribution of the asphaltenes. • A multi-scale convolutional neural network (MS-CNN) model for transfer learning is proposed. • A domain alignment method based on local central moment discrepancy in class subspace is proposed. • Compared with the central moment discrepancy (CMD), the local center moment discrepancy (LCMD) performs better in transfer diagnosis. Transfer learning is an excellent approach to deal with the problem that the target domain label can not be adequately obtained when rolling bearing cross-condition fault detection. A transfer learning fault diagnosis method of multi-scale CNN rolling bearings based on local central moment discrepancy is presented in this research. The method maps bearing vibration data to a shared space by building a shared multi-scale feature extraction structure and fully connected layers. The source domain label and target domain pseudo-label are used to divide the category subspace in the shared space. And then the local central moment discrepancy is used to match source and target domain in the category subspace to realize fault knowledge transfer under different conditions. The experimental findings reveal that multi-scale CNN migration diagnosis based on local central moment discrepancy has superior accuracy and stability in diverse diagnostic tasks when compared to classic transfer learning approaches. With China's rapid urbanization and socioeconomic development, cultivated land has been experiencing continuous reduction, spatial shift, and ecological degradation in the past few decades, coupled with the decreasing and aging agricultural labor force, thus improving cultivated land utilization efficiency while minimizing associated environmental impacts is one of the major challenges facing China. This study first establishes an index system to access the eco-efficiency of cultivated land use (EECLU) considering both carbon sequestration and carbon emissions, next, employs the Super-SBM model to evaluate the spatial–temporal characteristics of EECLU, then, uses landscape metrics to describe landscape pattern dynamics of cultivated land, and finally conducts panel data analysis to investigate the relationship between landscape pattern changes and the EECLU variations. This framework was applied to Jiangsu Province, a major grain-producing area with a developed economy. The results showed that the average EECLU of the counties in rural Jiangsu from 2000 to 2020 slightly decreased, most counties were in the medium–low efficiency range (0.6–0.8), and Southern Jiangsu generally has the lowest EECLU values while Central Jiangsu has the highest. The total area and the average patch sizes of cultivated land have significantly positive impacts on EECLU, while the shape complexity and patch fragmentation have significantly negative impacts on EECLU. Therefore, comprehensive low-carbon strategies and better management and technology in the agricultural sector are needed to further improve EECLU. On the premise of protecting the total area of cultivated land, larger and more aggregated land patches should be promoted in the land consolidation process, and the cultivated land targeted for occupation or compensation should be able to simplify the overall shape of cultivated land patches. [Display omitted] Development of electrode materials with high electrochemical charge storage capabilities through cost-effective methods has attracted intensive attention from researchers. Herein, a low-cost and scaled-up method for electrochemical synthesis of monolithic electrodes is presented. Nickel foam (NF) was chemically etched using the transition metal (NiCo-based) nitrate solutions with different ratios of Ni and Co. After being rinsed and dried, the etched NF was used as anode in an alkaline solution and a Pt mesh was utilized as cathode. Shortly after a constant voltage was applied to the two-electrode system, NiCo-based layered double hydroxides (NiCo-LDHs) were found to be self-grown on the NF with an ultra-fast rate. The in situ grown NiCo-LDHs were composed of hierarchical nanosheets with rough and porous surfaces, and had a high specific area. The monolithic Ni 1 Co 2 /NF electrode exhibited the best electrochemical performance with a high specific capacity of 3.01 C cm−2 at 1 mA cm−2. A hybrid supercapacitor was assembled using the Ni 1 Co 2 /NF as positive electrode and activated carbon as negative electrode. The maneuvering motion of a supercavitating vehicle pitching and yawing inevitably occurs when navigating in three-dimensional space. In order to give some insights into design of underwater vehicles, the maneuvering motion in the longitudinal and horizontal planes is investigated in this paper. Considering the definition of multi-body coordinate frames, a three-dimensional cavity topology model is proposed to predict the development of the shape of cavity and interact with the supercavitating vehicle in the simulations. Based on the cavity model, an improved planning model is established to calculate the necessary critical parameters of the planning force. According to the mathematical model above, a numerical algorithm is developed to simulate the maneuvering motion of the supercavitating vehicle. The higher algorithm efficiency is validated by the relative error of 10% order of magnitude and the more stable performance. The real-time scene figures and time-varying curves of the dynamic characteristics are obtained through the developed algorithm to study the influence of fins deflection on the maneuvering motion. The developed algorithm is validated to some extent to be a better alternative than the empirical one and provides a new method for analyses of simulation results of supercavitating vehicles. [Display omitted] • Computational modeling-based machine learning can facilitate predictive exploration. • There are some hidden pitfalls in 3D computational modeling-based machine learning. • The pitfalls of modeling and machine learning cannot be avoided only by algorithms. • Two cases taught us how to use machine learning prediction in mature settings. The 3D computational modeling-based machine learning (ML) prediction is an innovative methodology for exploration-targeting. This paper presents our studies on its application in the Fenghuangshan (FHS) and Anqing (AQ) mines, its benefits and pitfalls and the strategies for applying benefits and avoiding pitfalls. The 3D geological models of the FHS and AQ orefields show that the topography and attitudes of the intrusions' contact zones have spatial constraints on orebodies. The 3D variation of resistivity can provide some ambiguous evidences for inferring contact zone and orebodies. The dynamic simulations of the intrusions' cooling processes suggest that the dilatant deformation produced by the coupled mechano-thermo-hydrological (MTH) processes is favor for mineralization. Based on the results of 3D geometric and geodynamic modeling, we conducted the random forest (RF) ML model in the FHS mine and the ML models respectively of artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM) and RF in the AQ mine to predict mineral potentials. The RF prediction indicates that there is no significant potential in the FHS mine down to depth of 1400 m. The drills of the FHS Deep Drilling Program (FHSDDP) are all at the locations with low RF prediction probability (PP) of mineralization, which can explain why the FHSDDP had not discovered any orebodies and verifies the reliability of the RF prediction. The ANN, SVM and RF models of AQ mine gave different predictions, although the same data were imputed. The RF prediction indicates that there is no significant potential there down to −1520 m, whilst the SVM prediction shows a few small high potentials there, and ANN prediction shows prominent high potentials there. The drills of the AQ Mine Outer Drilling Program (AQMODP) that failed in ore discovery are all at the locations with low RF PP, but with high ANN PP, suggesting that the RF prediction is more reliable than that of ANN. Such inconsistent predictions of different algorithms and the unsuccessful exploration stories in FHS and AQ mines demonstrate that the 3D computational modeling-based ML technologies are a two edged sword. On the one hand, they can facilitate mineral exploration by characterizing the mineralization system in 3D visual and quantitative prediction of ore potentials. But on the other hand, they have some hidden pitfalls to impede or misguide mineral exploration, such as over extrapolation producing false model, over interpolation creating false big data, overfitting generating false knowledge and over simplification causing false prediction. The right strategies for applying benefits and avoiding pitfalls of 3D computational modeling-based ML prediction are pursuing high quality data, applying a capable ML algorithm, reinforcing field geology-based investigation and ratiocination, and keeping full feedback coupling with exploration processes to ensure correct decision-making and timely updating of data. Heavy liquid metals such as sodium and liquid lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) have excellent heat transfer capability and receive increasing attention as the primary coolant in fast reactors and accelerator driven systems (ADS). In ADS system, coolant system is designed as natural circulation, to simplify the primary system, improve the compactness of reactors and most important of all is to increase the inherent safety of reactor. Because the electromagnetic pump that drives the flow of liquid metal is eliminated in the coolant natural circulation system. In such situation, gas-lift technique named gas-lift pump could be adopted to enhance the coolant natural circulation capacity. The open research on the performance of gas-lift liquid metal pump is much less than that of air- lift water pump. The physical properties of large density ratio of liquid to gas, small kinematic viscosity and high surface tension of liquid metal is believed to have effects on the performance of gas-lift liquid metal pump. The present paper carries out some preliminary numerical simulation work on the two-phase flow characteristics of argon-liquid LBE in the up-riser tube and the performance of gas-lift liquid metal pump. Eulerian-Eulerian two-fluid model is used to describe the two-phase flow. Some interphase momentum transfer models from literature are used to account for the interfacial momentum transfer between liquid and gas phases. SST k-ω model with mixture treatment is used to compute the turbulence parameters of the homogeneous mixing phase in the present study. The influence of such parameters as argon injection superficial velocity, submergence ratio and diameter of up-riser tube on the discharged LBE mass flow rate and pressure drop of gas-lift pump are checked. Sr(Li 1/4 Nb 3/4) x Ti (1- x) O 3 (0.000 ≤ x ≤ 0.04) (STLN) ceramics were synthesized via a solid-state reaction under a flowing nitrogen atmosphere. Co-doping with Li+ and Nb5+ considerably enhanced the dielectric properties of SrTiO 3 ceramics. These dielectric properties increased with the co-doping concentration x up to x = 0.012 and decreased for higher x. The STLN ceramic with x = 0.012 exhibited a colossal permittivity of ε r = 17,300 (1 kHz) and an ultralow dielectric loss of tan δ = 0.017 (1 kHz), with excellent frequency (20–106 Hz) and temperature (room temperature to 450 °C) stabilities. Their dielectric relaxation mechanisms and point-defect structures were also investigated. With an excessive increase in x , the formation of point defects is inhibited, resulting in the deterioration of the dielectric properties of the STLN ceramics. Further studies showed that acceptor doping Li+ and N 2 atmosphere sintering provided a large number of oxygen vacancies. These oxygen vacancies contribute to the formation of some defect dipoles and defect-dipole clusters (Ti Ti ′ − V O • • − Ti Ti ′ , Nb TI • − Ti Ti ′) related to oxygen vacancies. These defect dipoles and defect-dipole clusters restrict non-localized electrons, leading to electron-pinning. Consequently, the sample exhibits colossal permittivity and low dielectric loss. Detonation performance is fundamental to the power evaluation of high explosives (HEs). This paper assesses the detonation performance (including detonation velocity D , detonation pressure P , detonation heat Q , specific kinetic energy E k , detonation products, working capacity, etc.) of HEs by an optimized method. Firstly, "exp-six" intermolecular potential function was used to optimize the theoretical VLW (Virial-Wu) EOS (equation of state), which exhibits a good precision in calculations of detonation performance. Then, the detonation performance of three new HEs (LLM-105, FOX-7, and TKX-50) was calculated and compared with traditional HEs (TATB, HMX, and CL-20). The results indicate that, for D and P , LLM-105, FOX-7, and TKX-50 are superior to TATB, but inferior to HMX and CL-20 except for D of TKX-50. The descending order for Q and E k is CL-20, HMX, TKX-50, FOX-7, LLM-105, and TATB. By analyzing detonation product components, more gaseous products with a higher proportion of heavy and medium molecules favor better detonation performance. Finally, the JWL (Jones-Wilkins-Lee) EOS was fitted by theoretically acquired isentropic expansion process of detonation products and cylinder test was simulated by the hydrodynamic program LS-DYNA. MoS 2 -based nanocomposites on carbon fibers (CFs) have been well developed, but their practical applications are still limited owing to the unsatisfactory adsorption and photodegradation performances. To deal with these issues, we report the growth of UiO-66-NH 2 nanoparticles as a porous co-photocatalyst to decorate MoS 2 nanosheets on CFs. CFs/MoS 2 /UiO-66-NH 2 bundles are woven into a macroscopical cloth (4 × 4 cm2, 0.15 g). CFs/MoS 2 /UiO-66-NH 2 cloth can efficiently adsorb 34.9% levofloxacin (LVFX) and 35.3% hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) after 60 min, which is an obvious improvement (1.3–2.9 times) compared with that by CFs/MoS 2 cloth. Importantly, the cloth can remove 88.4% LVFX or 98.4% Cr(VI) within 120 min, which is 1.6–2.7 times compared with that by CFs/MoS 2 cloth, resulting from the high adsorption and two-component synergistic photocatalytic activity. Furthermore, CFs/MoS 2 /UiO-66-NH 2 shows a slight decline from 88.4% to 76.9% under visible light irradiation after 4 cycles. Boron (B) has potential applications in energetic materials as additive fuel. In order to understand the combustion mechanism of B with various scales, the ignition and combustion characteristics of micro- and nano-sized B under different pressures (0.4 MPa, 0.8 MPa and 1.2 MPa) and atmospheres (60% O 2 + 40% N 2 , 80% O 2 + 20% N 2 and 100% O 2) were studied by a laser ignition and combustion experimental system. The evolution images and specialized parameters of ignition and combustion under different conditions were obtained, and the effects of atmosphere and pressure on the ignition and combustion characteristics of micro- and nano-sized B were discussed. Meanwhile, the crystal structure and morphology of condensed combustion products were observed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), and then the compositions in micro-areas were analyzed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The results show that, the burning of micro-sized B is relatively slow, while the burning of nano-sized B is intensified, and a deflagration-like phenomenon is observed for nano-sized B in pure oxygen with pressures of 0.8 and 1.2 MPa. The ignition delay time, combustion time and maximum flame temperature of nano-sized B are smaller than those of micro-sized B, while the maximum characteristic spectral intensity of nano-sized B is stronger. Besides, B 2 O 3 , B 6 O and BN exist in condensed combustion products of micro-sized B, but only B 2 O 3 is detected for nano-sized B, and products agglomerating is observed for nano-sized B. In general, nano-sized B has significant advantages than micro-sized B in the ignition and combustion characteristics, especially under conditions of high oxygen concentrations and high pressures. The resulting CB/CNT@TPU strain sensor delivers a desirable integration of sensing performances: good sensitivity, wide work range, fast response speed (<150 ms) and reliable cyclic stability (5000 cycles). Reactive materials consisting of aluminum (Al) and fluorine-containing oxidizers have been extensively developed owing to high energy density and potential applications in propellants and explosives. Herein, graphite fluoride (CF) as a new fluorine-containing oxidizer was introduced to construct nano-Al based reactive materials. Systematic investigation and comparison were executed on exothermic reaction behavior and combustion performance of nano-Al/CF and nano-Al/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) based reactive materials. The energy output and exothermic peak of nano-Al/CF were approximately 2367 J/g and 641 °C, which were 300 J/g and 85 °C higher than those of nano-Al/PTFE, respectively. The effects of nano-Al/CF mass ratio and packing density on burning rates were examined to fully understand combustion reaction and flame propagation behavior. Nano-Al/CF exhibited excellent burning rate (1670 m/s), much higher than that of nano-Al/PTFE (930 m/s). More interestingly, flame splitting phenomenon including three distinct flame regions was observed on the critical position with the highest burning rate for nano-Al/CF with the mass ratios of 25/70 and 30/75. The burning rate of nano-Al/CF increased and then decreased with the packing densities ranging from 20.87% to 53.47% TMD. The dominating combustion reaction products (AlF 3 and C) were further determined to figure out the reaction mechanism. • A novel 3D anisotropic random porous structure based on anisotropic Voronoi diagrams with high strength and high stiffness. • The parallel 3D anisotropic Voronoi diagram algorithm which eliminates the need for iterative calculations and is applicable to complex 3D shapes, including intricate concave shapes and structures with non-zero genus. • The stress driven strategy in which the distribution of Voronoi cells is related with the spatial distribution of stress magnitudes, while the cell orientations are controlled by the direction of stress tensor. By customizing the anisotropic design of each pore in the porous structure, the strength and stiffness of the structure can be significantly enhanced. In this work, we present a novel method for designing 3D anisotropic Voronoi porous structures (AVPSs). To construct these structures, we propose a novel algorithm for generating 3D anisotropic Voronoi diagrams (AVDs) based on Riemannian distance. The geometries of Voronoi cells are controlled to conform with both the stress distribution and the principal stress directions. The distribution of Voronoi cells are graded using a stress-based site sampling strategy, the orientation of Voronoi cells are modified by introducing stress-mapped Riemann tensor fields. The AVPSs are then modeled by computing implicit surfaces based on AVDs. The AVPSs conform closely to the geometric profile of the input model by clipping AVDs using the tetrahedral mesh. As global demand for ecological resources continues to surpass ecosystem capacity, predicting future changes in ecological supply, consumption, and carrying capacity is crucial for informed decision-making regarding sustainable land use and ecological security. This study forecasts ecological carrying states in Nepal, a representative region in the southern Himalayan foothills, from 2020 to 2030. We employ three alternative scenarios from the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway and Representative Concentration Pathway (SSP-RCP): SSP2-RCP4.5 (BAU), SSP1-RCP2.6 (TSS) and SSP5-RCP8.5 (SSS). Our findings indicate a continuous rise in ecological consumption, particularly in densely populated tropical areas such as the hilly region (HR) and Terai region (TR). Under the BAU and SSS scenarios, ecological supply decreases rapidly in these regions. Alarmingly, over one-third of Nepal's districts, mainly in central and eastern HR and TR, are projected to experience overloaded ecological carrying states by 2030. Climate change sensitivity and escalating consumption due to improved living standards and population growth pose significant challenges for these regions to reverse ecological deficits. The imbalanced dataset in actual engineering negatively affects the precision of fault diagnosis because of the severe lack of collected fault data. To effectively address this issue, an adaptive feature fusion assisted generation adversarial network is proposed, which can use very restricted numbers of samples for data augmentation. Firstly, the U-Net network is introduced into the generate adversarial network, which can ensure the spatial characteristics of samples and accurately extract characteristics from extremely finite samples. Secondly, to avoid the problem of reducing the diversity of generated samples due to single signal input, a module for adaptive feature fusion is constructed to guide the generator to learn and effectively improve the diversity of generated samples. Finally, construct a new loss function by utilizing a dual discriminator network to keep the training process running smoothly. To validate the proposed method, experiments are conducted on the datasets from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and a self-built test bench. The outcomes demonstrate that the proposed method can generate high-quality samples using very restricted samples, outperforming the comparison methods in terms of structural similarity (SSIM), maximum mean discrepancy (MMD), and Fréchet inception distance (FID) metrics. The high cost and unfavorable catalytic performance for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is one of the crucial obstacles that impede widely commercialization of proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Herein, we provide a novel, mass-producible ORR catalyst made of low-loading (10 wt%) Pt nanoparticles bound to patchy nitrogen-doped carbon (PNC) with uniformly dispersed FeN 4 sites (Pt/FeN 4 -PNC). The derived catalyst exhibits significantly improved catalytic activity and stability, obtaining a promising mass activity (MA) of 0.94 A mg pt −1 at 0.9 V (vs. RHE) with a negligible decay after 30,000 cycles accelerated durability test (ADT). In the fuel-cell assessment (under H 2 -Air conditions at 80 ℃), the Pt/FeN 4 -PNC and Pt/FeN 4 -PNC-10 g (scaled-up production) achieved peak power densities of 1.13 W cm−2 and 1.14 W cm−2, respectively, and retained 88.5 % and 88.1 % of the initial values after 30,000 voltage cycles (0.60–0.95 V). The patchy structure of PNC substrate guarantees fast electron routes and resistance to corrosion. With the FeN 4 active sites in the PNC substrate, the oxygen molecules are concurrently reduced on the surfaces of the carbon substrate and Pt nanoparticles, thereby causing the ORR reaction zone on the catalyst layer to expand. Natural products often contain a large number of structurally similar compounds, however, from which the isolation of monomer compounds is complex and time-consuming. In this study, for the first time, a Zr-based metal-organic framework (MOF), UiO-66, was used for the separation of three isoflavones (genistein (GEN), puerarin (PUE), and daidzein (DDZ)) with similar structures. UiO-66 was demonstrated to have a distinct high adsorption capacity (q e , 105.42 ± 2.36 mg/g) for GEN with high separation factors from PUE (α, 35.52 ± 1.22) and DDZ (α, 7.41 ± 0.76), dramatically increasing the purity of GEN from ∼33–92% after primary separation. According to SEM-EDS and XPS characterizations together with RDF analysis, GEN and PUE were adsorbed on the surface of UiO-66 at the same dominant Zr cluster site (O...Zr), while DDZ was bound onto the inferior site via weak hydrogen bonding (H...O), indicating the separation of GEN from PUE was in a competitive manner, while the separation from DDZ was selective. For these three drugs, their adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherms conformed Pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir model, respectively, indicating that the monolayer adsorption of isoflavones on UiO-66 surface was the dominant mechanism. The thermodynamic study demonstrated that both adsorptions of GEN and PUE were spontaneous (Δ G 0 < 0), whereas the DDZ adsorption is non-spontaneous (Δ G 0 > 0). Compared to traditional separation techniques, this study provided a simple and efficient approach to isolate structurally similar compounds from natural products in drug discovery. The post-buckling equilibrium paths (including the whole unstable region) and natural characteristics of fiber-reinforced composite laminated plates with different imperfections under thermal load are studied. Based on the Incremental Von Karman nonlinear relationship, Third-order shear deformation plate theory and Hamilton's principle, the theoretical governing equations are formulated. Firstly, the Cylindrical Arc-length method is developed with a direction judgement to capture the unstable post-buckling path including a number of snap-back and limit points. Then the natural characteristics are derived at the stable buckling position. The results show that in post-buckling state, the number of limit points along the unstable paths is directly related to the number of negative eigenvalues at the initial position. As long as the perturbation load is small enough, the buckling deformation of the flat plate keeps the same under different perturbation load. For the plate with imperfection, if the imperfection is really small, the buckling deformation is the same as that of the flat plate. If the imperfection is relatively larger, the buckling deformation is of high correlation with the imperfection shape. The government service platform, exemplified by the government hotline, has to handle extensive volumes of business documents that contain rich and timely public opinion information and citizens' demands. However, manual processing struggles to process large-scale text data, adversely impacting operating costs and the quality of government services. This study proposes a comprehensive system for business document classification of the government hotline (BDCGHS) in China to address these challenges. BDCGHS leverages information entropy fused with term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) weight to mine new words from business documents of the government hotline, and store them in a new word repository. These new words optimize Chinese word segmentation and text representation for text classification. We introduce a novel data structure called nested balanced binary tree to expedite new word mining, yielding a computational speed of almost five times than the Trie trees. Comparative experiments on the THUNews and government hotline datasets validate our proposed improvement BDCGHS algorithm's superior performance 3 % over text classification algorithms. Compared to the latest bidirectional encoder representations from the transformers (BERT) model, BDCGHS enhances the accuracy of order dispatch based on business documents by almost 3 %. It has also demonstrated stable operations in two Chinese cities for over a year, yielding favorable results. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to analyze the soluble portions (SPs) of eight lignites which were obtained by extracting using cyclohexane, methanol and ethanol, respectively, as the solvent. For thermal dissolution at 300 °C using cyclohexane, the intermolecular interactions between mobile phase and macromolecules in coal were weakened. Consequently, non- and low-polar compounds such as alkanes and aromatics were well dissolved. Methanol and ethanol were more likely to closely interact with oxygen-containing functional groups and promoted the breakage of hydrogen bonds and weak covalent bonds. Hierarchical cluster analysis classified all the 24 SPs, and the SPs from cyclohexane and ethanol solvents exhibited more similarity. Partial least squares discriminant analysis was established to reproduce the classification results of SPs entirely and accurately. Polycyclic aromatic compound (PAC) contamination in soil as a result of oil spills is a serious issue because of the huge global demand for fossil energy. This study assessed the vertical variation in polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), derivatives of PAHs (dPAHs) and bacterial community structure in deep soil with long-term contamination by oil spillage. Our results suggest that the content of total PACs ranged from 1196.6 μg/kg to 14980.9 μg/kg and decreased with depth at all sites. PAHs were the most abundant PACs, with a mean concentration of 6640.7 μg/kg, followed by oxygenated PAHs (mean 156.3 μg/kg) and nitrated PAHs (mean 33.4 μg/kg). PAHs are mainly low molecular weight PACs such as naphthalene, fluorene and phenanthrene, while derivatives of PAHs are all low molecular weight PACs and mainly oxygenated PAHs. Low molecular weight PAHs were an important source of dPAHs under specific conditions. The bacterial community structure showed higher bacterial diversity and lower bacterial richness in shallow soil (2–6 m in depth) than in deep soil (8–10 m in depth). Spearman's analysis confirmed that dramatic bacterial community shifts are a response to contamination. At the genus level, the presence of PACs highly selected for Pseudomonas , belonging to Proteobacteria. Moreover, functional predictions based on Tax4Fun revealed that soil with long-term contamination had a strong potential for PAC degradation. In addition, statistical analysis showed that oxidation-reduction potential (Eh) was closely related to variations of bacterial community composition and function. Finally, Ramlibacter , Pseudomonas , Pseudonocardia , c_MB-A2-108 , f_Amb-16S-1323 , and Qipengyuania were identified by cooccurrence network analysis as keystone taxa contributing to the maintenance of bacterial ecological function. Together, our results provide evidence of tight bacterial effects of PAHs and dPAHs and a more complete understanding of the fate of PACs in deep contaminated soils. Soil-slurry bioreactor based bioremediation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) contaminated soil was studied through laboratory and pilot-scale trials, in which the degradation mechanism was explored. Indigenous PAH-degrading consortium was firstly screened out and it degraded 80.5% of total PAHs in lab-scale bioreactors. Then a pilot-scale trial lasting 410 days was conducted in two bioreactors of 1.5 m3 to examine the operating parameters and validate the optimum running conditions. During the initial 200 days, the crucial running parameters affecting PAH removal were evaluated and selected. Subsequently, an average PAH removal rate of 93.4% was achieved during 15 consecutive batches (210 days) under the optimum running conditions. The kinetic analysis showed that the reactor under optimum conditions achieved the highest PAH degradation rate of 0.1795 day−1 and the shortest half-life of 3.86 days. Notably, efficient mass transfer of PAHs and high biodegradation capability by bioaugmented consortia in soil-slurry bioreactors were two key mechanisms for appreciable PAH removal performance. Under the optimal operating conditions, the degradation rate of low-molecular-weight (LMW) PAHs was significantly higher than high-molecular-weight (HMW) PAHs; when the mass transfer was limited, there was no significant difference between their degradation behaviors. Both microbial co-metabolism and collaborative metabolism might occur when all PAHs demonstrated low degradation rates. The product C-ZIF-CuPt has high activity and high stability ORR, HER bifunctional catalytic performance, which is better than commercial Pt/C (20 wt%). The Pt activity in C-ZIF-CuPt is 4.4 times (ORR) and 6.7 times (HER) than Pt/C. Spectromicroscopic determinations unveiled that strong interactions between carbon carrier and the CuPt alloys contribute to the overall stabilities. DFT calculations show that Cu doping can increase the d-band center of Pt, reduce the ORR overpotential, and the activation energy barrier to water molecules, which is beneficial to ORR and HER catalysis. Under the same carrier conditions, the performance of sub-nano (single atoms, clusters) platinum-supported catalysts (C-ZIF-Cu-Pt) is inferior to C-ZIF-CuPt. Humulus scanden, rich in flavonoids, is a traditional Chinese medicine. It is widely used in China to treat tuberculosis, dysentery and chronic colitis. In this study, Humulus scandens (H.S) was extracted in different solvents (water, n-butanol, acetic ether and chloroform) and the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory activities of extracts were investigated by four assays including DPPH, reducing power, xylene-induced mouse ear edema and cotton pellet-induced granuloma methods. And then, the acute oral toxicity of extracts and biochemical parameters such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) in blood serum and edematous tissue of rats were also evaluated. Moreover, the active compounds were identified by LC-ESI-QTOF-MS-MS. Results showed that ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts had the stronger antioxidant activities, while water extract appeared to be weakest among them. The anti-inflammatory test showed that the extract of n-butanol and chloroform had significant anti-inflammatory effects and could improve the activity of SOD and CAT in mice. In general, the site of n-butanol has a stronger antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, and 15 compounds were analyzed by LC/Q-TOF-MS/MS technology. The present study confirms the ethnobotanical use of H.S extracts as natural antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and the composition of the active compound was preliminarily identified. Fluorinated reactive materials as new energetic materials are widely studied because of their high combustion heat and the ability to release large amounts of gaseous products. In order to further improve combustion reaction and the energy release efficiency, structural processing strategy is usually adopted to construct unique microstructures for fluorinated reactive materials. In this work, it is found that fluorinated graphene (FG) and nano-aluminum (nAl) can be rapidly assembled by the intercalation-like method to form multilayer nanostructured energetic materials with particle mosaic. Based on this, the energy output performance of these multilayer nanostructured energetic materials can be effectively regulated by changing the ratio of FG to nAl. The shortest laser ignition delay time (8 ms) and the longest burning time (56 ms) can be achieved for the multilayer nanostructured energetic material with proper FG/Al ratio, while the burning rate of the sample spline can reach 14.83 cm/s. In addition, the reaction process of multilayer nanostructured FG/Al energetic materials depends upon oxygen content that participates in the reaction in different atmospheres, leading to the different pressure output performance. Via UV crosslinking, the water absorbing moiety, acrylic acid (AA), can be polymerized and crosslinked with gelatin methacrylate (GelMA). The resulting GelMA-AA MN (G-A MN) can rapidly extract different analytes. One piece of G-A MN patch can aspirate about 1.29 mg (≈ 1.29 µL) of ISF from mice within 60 s. We further applied G-A MN for breast cancer screening in the 4T1 orthotopic mice breast cancer model and genetically engineered breast cancer model. By measuring the tumor markers carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and glycoantigen CA15-3, G-A MN could detect the cancer occurrence earlier than other standard screening methods, including blood tests, ultrasound, or Micro-CT. Furthermore, earlier diagnosis led to timely chemotherapy treatment and resulted in prolonged survival in the mice 4T1 breast cancer model. In conclusion, G-A MN enabled rapid ISF extraction for biomarker analysis in a minimally invasive manner. The ECL emission of simple and stable zirconium dioxide nanomaterials has always been a blank slate in the ECL sensors field. In this work, zirconium dioxide (ZrO 2)-titanium dioxide (TiO 2)-gold nanoparticle (AuNPs) composite (ZT-Au), a novel self-enhanced ECL emitter, was introduced the system of dual-quenching ECL immunosensor. The anodic luminescence of ZrO 2 in the system of tripropylamine (TPrA) as a co-reagent was first reported and explored. Meanwhile, TiO 2 was designed into the ECL scheme as a co-reaction accelerator to form the ZrO 2 /TPrA/TiO 2 ternary system, which can efficiently amplify the ECL signal of the emitter. In addition, cuprous oxide-triaminophenol (Cu 2 O-APF) as the quencher was devoted to the dual-quenching sensing strategy. The dual-quenching mechanism that effectively boosted the immunosensor sensitivity was adequately investigated and conjectured in this paper. The sensing model based on the luminophor ZT-Au and the quencher Cu 2 O-APF was utilized for the detection of D-dimer, a reliable marker for the diagnosis and evaluation of thrombotic diseases. The short peptide ligands NARKFYKGC (NFC) with efficient biological affinity were used to site-directionally capture antibodies for adequately protecting the activity of antigen binding sites during the construction of the immunosensor. The implemented immunosensor was equipped with a broad linear range of 0.01–500 ng/mL and a low detection limit of 3.6 pg/mL. In this work, we present a cross-dimensional strategy by decorating 0D Co 3 O 4 onto 2D Co(OH) 2 to form a multifunctional photocatalyst. The one-pot hydrothermally synthesized Co 3 O 4 @Co(OH) 2 composite is capable of degrading polystyrene microplastics with an efficiency of 40% under 0.495 W white LED illumination. In a separated experiment, H 2 evolution reaction from water splitting was evaluated in absence of sacrificial agents leading to 43 μmol g−1 and to an apparent quantum efficiency of 3.48% at 420 nm. The study of the energy band diagrams by UV–Visible and ambient photoemission spectroscopy and the analysis of the radicals involved in the reaction of photocatalytic degradation allow to unveil the mechanisms for both the processes herein studied. However, what methods or models can be applied to an integrated analysis of connectivity and modularity are rarely discussed. An integrated approach is proposed to model connectivity of habitat networks and identify module structure on the basis of comparing Least Cost Path (LCP) with circuit-theoretic model, Informap with Newman Girvan's modularity score Q method. To measure connectivity between habitat patches, dispersal probability based on LCP and effective conductance based on circuit-theoretic model were calculated respectively and compared under different cost-weighted distance thresholds of 150, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, 10,000. Then, results of six scenarios were compared using Infomap and Newman-Girvan's modularity score Q to demonstrate the utility of the two methods in identifying modular structure. These procedures were carried out in a simulated landscape. The results show that (1) compared with effective conductance, dispersal probability is more sensitive to the change of cost-weighted distance thresholds.(2) increasing cost-weighted distance thresholds lead to a decrease in current density of pinch points and resistance distance of corridors between two habitats, but it improves habitat connectivity.(3) the results of modules identified by Newman-Girvan's method differ noticeably from that of Infomap, but Infomap can identify the hierarchical module structure of the habitat network. Our approach offers an effective means for characterizing functional structure of habitat networks combining connectivity with modularity. Effective conductance has a wider application in identifying important landscape elements, and Infomap can extract multiple levels of network structure, which likely reflect structures determined by different ecological processes at different scales. • Four new lytic phages infecting Cronobacter sakazakii were isolated from sewage samples. • Morphological, physiological, genomic characteristics of phages were characterized. • C. sakazakii phage origin, evolution and their connections were studied by a comparative genomics analysis. Cronobacter sakazakii, a foodborne pathogen, can contaminate powdered infant formula (PIF) and cause life-threatening meningitis, necrotizing colitis and meningoencephalitis in infants. Bacteriophages are increasingly considered an efficient approach to target pathogenic microorganisms. In the current study, four virulent phages that can infect C. sakazakii were isolated from sewage samples, and their biological and complete genomic characteristics were analyzed. A comparative genomic analysis was performed to investigate the functional genes and phylogenetic evolution of the four phages. The results revealed that all four phages belonged to the Ackermannviridae family. Notably, the viral burst size of the phages ranged from 10 to 250 PFU/cell, following a latent period of 5 min to 20 min. Moreover, phages were stable over a pH range of 4 to 10 and a temperature range of 50 ℃ to 60 ℃. The full length of the complete genomes of the four phages ranged from 41,929 bp to 146,806 bp, containing lysis genes but no virulence genes. Phylogenetic tree analysis showed that the four phages were members of two distinct genetic groups with a significant genetic evolutionary distance between each C. sakazakii phage. Furthermore, the antibacterial assay revealed that all phages could inhibit the growth of C. sakazakii for up to 24 h. Efficient removal of arsenic (As) and lead (Pb) from industrial wastewater has long been a critical environmental issue due to their serious risk to human health. Therefore, in this work, a modified banana peel biochar (MBPB) was prepared by mixing calcium nitrate, diammonium hydrogen phosphate, sulfuric acid, ferric nitrate with dehydrated banana peel biochar as adsorbent for As(V) and Pb(II) removal in wastewater, and their absorption mechanism was investigated. SEM-EDS, TEM, FTIR, XRD, XPS, BET, kinetic, and isothermal characteristics of MBPB and pristine banana peel biochar (PBPB) were conducted. The behavior of both metal ions on MBPB and PBPB was well explained by the pseudo-second-order kinetic with Langmuir and Freundlich models. We found that the two biochar's behaviors were mixture processes of monolayer and multilayer adsorption, achieving maximum capacities as determined by the Langmuir model of 39.5 mg g−1 (MBPB-As), 33.2 mg g−1 (MBPB-Pb), 30.8 mg g−1 (PBPB-Pb), and 23.5 mg g−1 (PBPB-As), with maximum efficiencies of 98.7% (MBPB-As) and 90.3% (MBPB-Pb) under optimum conditions. Thermodynamic tests showed that As(V) and Pb(II) removal on MBPB was a spontaneous and endothermic physisorption process. MBPB showed great reusability in As(V) and Pb(II) removal, with removal rates as high as 71.4% and 66.5% after five cycles, respectively. Selective adsorption of As(V) and Pb(II) was also investigated on MBPB, and the removal rate was still high in the mixture of heavy metals. These findings provide a feasible method for the environmental-benign utilization of banana peel as a low-priced adsorbent in wastewater treatment. • The local search algorithm based on K-Nearest Neighbor adaptively adjusts the K value in the natural neighbor searching process. • The search scheme improves the accuracy and efficiency for the natural element method. • The algorithm has high calculation accuracy in both the elastic analysis and large plastic deformation. Natural element method (NEM) is a meshless method based on the Voronoi diagram and Delaunay triangulation. It has the advantages of the meshless method, and simplifies the imposition of essential boundary conditions. NEM has great potential to solve the problems with large deformation. However, the high computational cost for searching natural neighbors is one of the main problems in NEM. In this paper a local algorithm based on K-Nearest Neighbor is presented for searching natural neighbors. Compared with the global sweep algorithm and other local search algorithms, the proposed algorithm introduces K to reduce the search scope. The value of K can be adjusted adaptively with the distribution characteristics of local neighbors of the calculation point and so the search can reach the global optimal value. The search scope changes with the flow of nodes, avoiding the problem that the natural neighbors exceed the search scope and reducing the calculation error. The proposed approach realizes the meshless characteristic in the natural neighbor searching process. The approach was used to solve the elastic deformation of a cantilever beam and a porous structure and the large plastic deformation in metal forming process. Developing a novel nanofiltration membrane for effectively purifying antibiotic wastewater has been a daunting challenge in recent years. However, a convenient and controllable strategy for constructing membranes with two-dimensional nanomaterials (2DNMs) and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) needs to be further studied. Herein, a loosely hierarchical architecture composite membrane has been fabricated, utilizing an electrostatic layer-by-layer (LBL) self-assembly method to intercalate chitosan crosslinked UiO-66-NH 2 MOFs (CMOF) into MoS 2 laminates. Through regulating the CMOF content, lower hydraulic-resisted channels and precise separation regions have been formed in the hierarchical architecture. The well-designed MoS 2 /CMOF composite membrane exhibited enhanced water permeance (78.98 ± 1.45 L·m-2h−1 bar−1) and superior antibiotic rejection capability (98.01 ± 1.12% for ciprofloxacin and 94.31 ± 0.68% for ofloxacin), which are increased by 27–55% more than monomer membranes. Detailed analysis results indicate the nanofiltration performance of the MoS 2 /CMOF composite membrane depends heavily on the synergistic mechanism, including the molecular sieving effect (size exclusion), electrostatic repulsion, and hydrophilic-hydrophobic interaction. Besides, the MoS 2 /CMOF composite membrane has emerged with excellent antifouling ability and long-term stability, which could maintain favorable rejection efficiency in continuous nanofiltration for 72 h under an alkaline and acidic environment. Furthermore, it presents over 90% antibiotic rejection rates for real water samples obtained from the municipal domestic sewage and livestock wastewater along the Xiangjiang River in China, indicating its good availability. In general, this work provides a new vision and a reasonable design strategy to construct 2DNMs/MOFs-based nanofiltration membranes with hierarchical architecture, further expanding their application in wastewater treatment and reclamation, in harmony with the global trend of green and low-carbon development. The construction of advanced systems that can accurately detect neuron-specific enolase (NSE) is critical to the rapid diagnosis of small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Herein, a luminol-based electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor enhanced by reactive oxygen species (ROS) is proposed to perform the ultrasensitive detection of NSE. D-Fe 2 O 3 @Pt, synthesized as a signal indicator, was combined with luminol to significantly shorten its electron transfer pathway. Its peroxidase activity catalyzed the decomposition of H 2 O 2 to generate a large amount of •OH, thus considerably increasing the ECL signal of the luminol–H 2 O 2 system. CePO 4 /CeO 2 heterostructures with improved surface-active areas were then employed as sensing substrates. The platform enabled the accelerated generation of O 2 •− through enriched Ce4+/Ce3+ redox pairs, thereby amplifying the strength of the response of the foundation. Through integrated dual ROS amplification, the proposed sandwich ECL immunosensor configuration achieved sensitive detection in the detection range of 76 fg/mL – 100 ng/mL, with a detection limit of 72.4 fg/mL. Furthermore, the sensor exhibited high selectivity for the determination of NSE in human serum. Overall, this study serves as an important reference for integrating ROS and enzymatic strategies in ECL research to achieve accurate, sensitive, and highly selective detection of a target. To improve and adjust the combustion and energy output of HMX/Al, graphite fluoride (CF) as oxidizer was introduced in HMX/Al and gradient structured HMX/Al/CF was prepared by additive manufacturing technology. For HMX/Al added with CF, a significantly exothermic peak is observed ranging from 860 to 950 °C due to the reaction of Al and fluorine derived from CF decomposition, and the heat release increases by 106.63% compared to that of HMX/Al. The fourth exothermic heat increases from 161.48 to 955.25 J/g with the increased Al content from 10 to 30 wt%. Moreover, the combustion rate and pressure output of HMX/Al have been improved by introducing CF. For HMX/Al added with CF, the combustion time decreases from 10.3 to 2.5 s, which is dependent on the Al content from 10 to 30 wt%. And the highest peak pressure is 1712.2 kPa when Al content is 20 wt% in HMX/Al/CF composites. Furthermore, gradient structured HMX/Al/CF consisting of three layers with Al content of 10, 20 and 30 wt% was prepared to improve combustion and pressure output. The combustion rate and peak pressure of gradient structured HMX/Al/CF are higher than those of single structured HMX/Al/CF. The highest peak pressure (∼2.24 MPa) is obtained when the Al content of the middle layer and outer layer is 30 wt% and 20 wt% in the gradient structured HMX/Al/CF cylinder, respectively. Finally, the reaction intermediates and combustion reaction products were fully characterized to understand the enhanced effect of CF in HMX/Al. Though carbonates are known for several decades, their role in sun-light driven photocatalysis is still hidden. Herein, carbonate boosted solar water splitting in nickel-based plasmonic hybrid nanostructures is disclosed for the first time via in-situ experiments and density-functional theory (DFT)-based calculations. Ni@NiO/NiCO 3 core@shell (shell consisting of crystalline NiO and amorphous NiCO 3) nanostructure with varying size and compositions are studied for hydrogen production. The visible light absorption at ∼470 nm excludes the possibility of NiO as an active photocatalyst, emphasizing plasmon driven H 2 evolution. Under white light irradiation, higher hydrogen yield of ∼80 µmol/g/h for vacuum annealed sample over pristine (∼50 µmol/g/h) complements the spectroscopic data and DFT results, uncovering amorphous NiCO 3 as an active site for H 2 absorption due to its unique electronic structure. This conclusion also supports the time-resolved photoluminescence results, indicating that the plasmonic electrons originating from Ni are transferred to NiCO 3 via NiO. The salinity of soil can result in serious potential environmental hazards such as increased collapsibility and corrosiveness. Microbially induced carbonate precipitation is an upcoming and pollution-free treatment modality that can eliminate environmental and engineering hazards of saline soil. To verify the feasibility of the method of curing saline soils, a series of tests were conducted to investigate the impact of chloride salt on urea hydrolysis, the impact of the method on engineering and mechanical properties of coarse-grained soils containing chloride salt and the deterioration mechanism of curing effect caused by salt. The study demonstrated that, even though the curing effect of the method is excellent, the negative effect of salt cannot be ignored. With increased salt concentration, the hydrolysis rate and calcium carbonate precipitation efficiency sharply decrease at first and tend to be flatter. The unconfined compressive strength and shear strength of the samples can be greatly improved through the application of the method. However, calcium carbonate content reduces with an increase in the salt content, which decreases the strength. Compared to uncured samples, the permeability coefficient of cured samples reduced from 1 to 2 orders of magnitude. On the other hand, as the dominant aperture size increases with a decrease in the calcium carbonate content, the permeability coefficient increases with an increase in the salt content. Furthermore, micro-mechanical tests, such as X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope tests, were conducted to analyze the mechanism by which salt degrades the reinforcement. As a guiding agent, while chloride salt can improve the proportion of calcite in calcium carbonate, it decreases the total quantity of calcium carbonate through the limiting urea hydrolysis process. A significant amount of calcium carbonate is deposited on the surface of the particles in each sample, especially the contact surface. In conclusion, even though salt has a certain deterioration effect, microbially-induced carbonate precipitation is still an effective and environment-friendly method to cure saline soil. However, it remains a great challenge for large-scale fabrication of high-quality polymer piezoelectric films by a cost-effective melt processing approach, mainly due to the difficulty of acquiring well-defined electroactive phases. Herein, a readily implementable and scalable strategy is reported to achieve poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) film with ultrahigh content of electroactive β-phase (∼96%) via melt stretching of slightly crosslinked PVDF. Upon controlled temperature and stretch ratio, the β-phase adopts an oriented nanofibril (diameter, 21.6 nm) morphology, while nanofibrils are further densely and parallelly aligned to fill the film space. The hierarchical nanoscale phase morphology endows the slightly crosslinked film with high optical transmittance (∼90%), good flexibility and also superior mechanical properties. Moreover, flexible piezoelectric device constructed on the film is demonstrated to have excellent electrical output with sensitive and repeatable responses in sensing dynamic pressure (0–250 kPa), temperature variation (3.3 mV oC-1), human motions and subtle physiological activities. Compared to polymer fibers, it is still challenging for fabricating large-scale polymer products with superb mechanical properties. Herein, high density polyethylene (HDPE) films reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were prepared via an ingenious high-speed melt stretching strategy. With employing a homemade two-drum extensional rheometer, the maximum 80 × stretch ratio of supercooled melt was realized within very short time of 220 ms. The achieved nanocomposite films present the highest tensile strength of 147 MPa in reported HDPE-based composites, while the Young's modulus keeps simultaneously a high level of 2300 MPa in spite of low filler fraction of 3 wt%. Furthermore, the nanocomposite films display an excellent erosion resistance, ensuring the durability in harsh using environments. Microstructural characterization indicates a strong synergy between high-speed melt stretching and CNTs in (1) forming the densely distributed shish-kebab superstructures, (2) making a nearly perfect orientation of shish-kebab crystal and (3) reinforcing the physical connectivity of shish-kebab network. The construction of such characteristic microstructures greatly improves the transfer of mechanical load and underlies a significant enhancement on the mechanical performance. Due to the ultrastrong nanocomposite films fabricated directly by melt processing, the current work is of guiding significance in engineering practice and lights a feasible path towards expanding applications of general plastics to some special occasions like collision protection and structural materials.
