Conventional approaches to ethics in comparative and international educational research often entail researchers seeking institutional ethics approval; attempting to manage fieldwork's practical ethical dilemmas using institutional and disciplinary protocols; and 'writing up' methodology, primarily an account of the institutional ethics approval process. This approach largely excludes participants' conceptions of ethics, manifested through their ethical values, virtues, worldviews, knowledge, perspectives, traditions, norms, epistemologies, etc. This paper proposes a participant-centred, values-based approach which deepens the conventional approach by positioning participants' values alongside institutional and disciplinary ones; centring participants' values during fieldwork's ethical dilemmas; and articulating a situated ethics account. This alternative approach deepens researchers' capabilities for situated ethical action, and underscores the need for continuous negotiation of ethics with participants towards meaningful ethical partnerships. Such partnerships are ultimately facilitated by institutional ethics committees' flexibility in enabling, and even encouraging, researcher-participant ethical negotiations at various stages of research. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the limited research on universities' decision to innovate, using the network and knowledge-based perspectives as our theoretical underpinning. The first conclusion is that universities are more likely to locate their scientific productivity on a standalone campus than in a multi-campus system when the knowledge effect is more favorable. To make a contribution to industry and collaboration, universities are more likely to locate their scientific productivity in a multi-campus system. The second conclusion is that after controlling for endogeneity bias, the mean of academic performance for scientific productivity on a standalone campus is higher than it is on a multi-campus system. The third conclusion is that locating innovation activities in either a standalone or multi-campus system under theoretically appropriate conditions increases academic performance. Graphic facilitation is a growing international practice and is often used to describe what professionals do when visually facilitating group processes. Although the professional arena has grown, there is a lack of empirical research in the field, especially regarding long-term perspectives on applying the practice in organisations. This paper aims at investigating employees' experiences and competence development over time within graphic facilitation. The study followed three employees, first in a 2-day basic graphic facilitation course, then in follow-up interviews, eight months, and two years after completing the course. The empirical data were analysed based on a literature review conducted on long-term perspectives, focusing on three themes: 1. The graphic facilitation practice at individual, group, and organisational level; 2. Contextual knowledge and knowing about the participants; 3. Relation between objects, processes and competencies needed. The findings show that all three employees from different organisations continued to use graphic facilitation and found it valuable for giving new insights and overviews of processes and tasks. The methods aided in creating common ground and goals. The employees activated their contextual organisational knowledge to aid the process and found that being sensitive to various groups' needs and personal preferences were effective when applying the methods. The doctoral journey is a complex endeavour, and like any complex project, deserves to be managed accordingly. Agile Project Management has been used successfully by practitioners in the Software industry for the last two decades and recently is being adopted in other industries, including in Higher Education. Based on the author's personal experience, this autoethnographic paper discusses the situations in which a model based on Agile principles might be applied to doctoral research and thesis write-up and the ways in which it might make the process more predictable and successful. The model developed in this paper can be generalised at least in part to various types of doctoral programmes, where candidates and supervisors can benefit from risk reduction through incremental knowledge creation, continuous learning, and increased visibility into progress. This study aims to provide a contribution to the systematisation of the state-of-the art of the literature on Big Data for the process of New Product Development (NPD). Based on the evidence of a structured literature review (SLR) on articles published from 2015 to 2021, the paper aims to identify new areas for future research, by highlighting the contribution of Big Data in the perspective of knowledge management for the improvement of the new product development process. Findings demonstrate a lack of research in this field and the fragmentation of the publications that require more in-depth investigation. Advancing equity is a major challenge facing education systems globally. This creates an imperative for researchers to work with policymakers and practitioners to affect change. There have been many attempts to do this using various forms of action-oriented research and a considerable body of knowledge exists about their strengths and limitations. The paper describes the development of a methodological approach, Design-Based Equity Research (DBER), which draws on these existing traditions but is also distinct in its explicit consideration of values. It is marked out by a process of knowledge generation, in which researcher and practitioner knowledge meet, in context, to produce new knowledge about ways in which broad values of equity might be better realized in future practice. The paper explains how the approach was developed, conceptually and empirically, through a series of studies carried out over the last twenty years. It concludes that the process has the potential to generate two important types of knowledge: substantive knowledge about how equity can be realized in practice, and processual knowledge about the DBER process itself. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many businesses, forcing them to either close down or suspend operation for an extended time period. Since hospitality and tourism (H&T) companies are interrelated, closure of business may cause ripple effects and negatively affect individuals, organizations, and communities. Maintaining operation is especially important for some H&T units, when they are integral parts of larger H&T operations, such as the restaurants in the integrated resorts in Macao. Fighting to lose less, therefore, becomes one of their new business objectives in this prolonged battle. This paper explores how fine-dining restaurants in the integrated resorts in Macao adjust their business and operations in a highly uncertain and unpredictable environment. The findings present a Three-R Strategy Model (Reducing, Revising, and Reviving), which differs from strategies deployed in other crisis scenarios. In this article, I make sense of my encounters with the language of objectivity as a student, tutor, mentor, and researcher. I rely on Dorothy E. Smith's conceptualisation of the ethic of objectivity, a practice that requires the student to devalue their embodied experience while ripping it from their experiential knowledge, which in turn they must rewrite in the language of objectivity. In conversation with Patricia Hill Collins and bell hooks, I reflect on whose perspective the language of objectivity represents. In doing so, I argue it is the language of the oppressor, and thus, the ethic of objectivity creates in the student an internal division between an experienced world written in their own language and an objectified world written in the oppressor's language. Identifying the ethic as an expression of dominant language ideology, I suggest that any critical writing pedagogy must relinquish the ethic of objectivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper analyses how SMEs manage the knowledge needed to carry out innovation, focusing on how the various knowledge management (KM) processes (acquisition, documentation, sharing, application) come into play during the different phases of the innovation process (idea generation, ideas selection, project development, launch). In fact, little is known about the KM processes and practices that SMEs employ during their innovation activities. Given the novelty of the issue, a multiple case study was carried out on 13 innovative projects implemented by as many Italian manufacturing SMEs. Empirical evidence shows that all KM processes play a role in the various phases of the innovation process, but this role changes from phase to phase. Furthermore, the study highlights that the practices used in the various processes may vary in relation to the type of innovation that is being developed. How to evaluate and predict potential source terms quickly and effectively is very important for emergency response. In this paper, the traditional forward analysis calculation based on deterministic method was combined with probability theory calculation, and a large number of typical accident sequences were calculated with severe accident analysis software to obtain data of source terms. According to expert knowledge base, probabilistic safety analysis, and other information, a model of nuclear power plant was established based on Bayesian network algorithm, so as to carry out researches on rapid source term calculation and prediction methods. Based on the Bayesian network model of a specific power plant and the pre-calculated source term results of typical accident scenarios, the best available knowledge and observation results of events were used to estimate the relevant typical source terms and their possibilities, which provide a strong basis for effectively grasping and predicting the accident process, quickly predicting source terms and release characteristics of radioactive materials, and quickly and accurately evaluating the radioactive consequences. Knowledge extraction and reuse are critical topics for manufacturing companies willing to strengthen their Product-Service Systems (PSS) offerings. In manufacturing's maintenance processes, effectiveness and efficiency depend on the ability to learn from past field interventions. Dealing with unstructured descriptions of maintenance activities has prevented manufacturing companies from analyzing them, causing the loss of useful information. Natural Language Processing (NLP) demonstrated high potential, allowing simplified text knowledge extraction and summarization. Besides, the literature presents only a few applications of topic modeling for maintenance improvement in the manufacturing domain. Using a case study, the paper demonstrates the potentialities of NLP adoption to improve not only the maintenance management and execution but also the asset design and management, impacting the whole PSS. This paper draws on the fund of regional knowledge about career guidance that comparative research has generated in the "global South". The goal of the paper is to add another voice to the challenge to the universalising language that characterises career guidance theory and practice, and to further highlight the serious attention that needs to be given to "localisms" and "particularisms" so that responses that are sensitive to context can emerge. While several authors make a case for attention to context, few explicitly link epistemological and ontological concerns to the issue of political power. In contrast, in this paper I argue that inductive theorising is more likely to not only generate relevant and useful knowledge and practices: it is also more likely to serve the interests of social justice. The productivity of worker is crucial not only for company performance but also for sustainable development. In the context of knowledge-economy firms, leadership issues and knowledge resources capabilities are likely to enhance knowledge worker productivity. The purpose of this study is to design a preliminary conceptual analysis of spiritual leadership and knowledge explorative-exploitative on knowledge worker productivity. This study adopts a systematic literature review (SLR) through searching, analysing, and selecting research studies comprising a total of 1355 research papers. The literature was searched in digital scientific libraries and big indexing systems such as Web of Science and Scopus. This research essentially contributes to providing a conceptual/theoretical model of effective knowledge explorative-exploitative in the context of knowledge workers productivity. Several enabler factors such as spiritual leadership (vision, hope/faith, altruistic), knowledge explorative (socialization and internalization), knowledge exploitative (combination and externalization), and knowledge worker productivity (job outcome, problem-solving, work scheduling) were explored and explained. The research provides beneficial knowledge and strategy for managers/leaders on ways to initiate and develop a knowledge-sharing strategy to enhance employee's effectiveness through pursuing and maximizing leadership contributions. This paper traces the sociological roots of the 'knowledge turn' and a concept centrally identified with it, 'powerful knowledge', beginning with the work of Basil Bernstein which was subsequently elaborated in a wide range of contexts-of-use in the broad field of curriculum studies. This paper provides a structured literature review (SLR) on knowledge management (KM), digital transformation (DT), and Industry 4.0, defining these new research streams' interactions, ties, and interdependencies. Playing an essential role in a progressive discipline, our research summarises the state of the art of the past literature using rigorous methodological approach. The researchers adopt the Scopus database in their analysis and use the Bibliometrix R package. The analysis reveals 761 peer-reviewed English articles. The study shows several research clusters: KM and DT; KM and innovation ecosystems; KM and frontier technologies; and KM, decision-making, and Industry 4.0. Additionally, our paper contributes to identifying a flourishing field of research that has uncovered a previously unknown and exciting link between KM, DT, and the public sector. Finally, the article emphasises the crucial role of DT in KM development, addressing future research perspectives as quantitative and joint academics and practitioners' analysis. Calls for reframing the subject matter of Religious Education in schools include the tricky question of how to select from a world of potentially interesting and relevant material. Pedagogues have long questioned the educational logic that takes so-called substantive knowledge as its starting point and imagines education to follow a linear path from simple to complex. Scholars of Religious Studies have addressed similar questions of how to bring the subject matter to life through taking a more disciplinary orientation , though this approach is problematized by RE's multi-disciplinary foundations This paper brings together pedagogical and disciplinary perspectives to the question of exemplification in the production of curricular subject matter. Taking as its context RE in schools, the paper assumes the didactic principle that there is considerable difference between putative disciplinary knowledge and school subject matter and that the production of school subject matter requires considered processes of pedagogical transformation and reduction. This study examines the challenges and methods of knowledge management (KM) effectiveness assessment in knowledge-intensive organisations. Specifically, the authors put the spotlight, for the first time, on KM professionals' perceptions regarding the examination of KM success that relies on non-financial indicators. The research was conducted with the participation of 21 KM experts through in-depth interviews and focus groups. The results reveal that many organisations do not carry out systematic and consistent KM measurements. Recognising the ever changing dynamics of organisations, the reasons behind the neglect of this evaluation are presented in the paper. As the challenges of the field and the KM effectiveness evaluation are of the lesser developed aspects of the discipline, the present study gives rise to significant innovations. A translanguaging lens in educational research focuses on social, cultural, and power dynamics of language and multilingualism in practice. It also represents a potentially transformative pedagogical practice that centers the languaging practice, power, and agency of multilingual learners to transgress classroom language borders. However, translanguaging research that focuses on only the social aspects of classroom languaging can be subject to critique for failing to disrupt material inequities related to language and power in the classroom. This conceptual paper explores how thinking across multiple frameworks can generate innovative methodological approaches to knowledge production for translanguaging inquiry in the context of EL and multilingual education. Exploring how translanguaging can be plugged into Blumer's Symbolic Interactionism, Foucault's Discourse, and Barad's Agential Realism, this paper thinks within and against these frameworks to highlight important analytic provocations for now only how translanguaging relations emerge, but also what methodological territory is claimed in the process. Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems (RMS) have gained attention in the aerospace industry in the past years, as post-pandemic context shows drastic production capacity changes and new environmental regulations to which it must adapt quicker than before to maintain competitiveness. Nevertheless, current RMS design methods have not thoroughly considered this industry specificities, nor industrial resources requirements in the current concurrent design practice. These limitations have been identified in several recent research works. Ontology-based Engineering (OBE) systems can stand overly complex collaborative design processes involving multidisciplinary stakeholders and various digital tools, integrating different levels of decision. Models for Manufacturing (MfM) is an OBE methodology aiming to enable industrial design and decision-making in manufacturing by preserving the company knowledge in ontology models, usable as knowledge base to generate and integrate the aircraft and manufacturing systems design. This paper presents an MfM application for RMS design in aerospace, introducing innovative design concepts that allow implementing RMS in a collaborative engineering process of an aerospace product. An implementation is shown designing the RMS of a model aircraft family to illustrate the concepts introduced and considerations are given to transfer this knowledge base into an OBE system to support complex real-life applications. This paper is about the politics of policy knowledge production. It calls for spaces to be forged to allow teachers' voices to have centre stage in knowledge creation and production. Specifically, this paper discusses the need for alternative ways of conducting educational research so that power in research design is utilised as a capacity for change. First, the politics of knowledge production is explored. The second and most central task of this paper is to highlight the role that teachers' knowledge can play in shaping education policy through emancipatory research practices. Overall, this paper advocates that the time has arrived for a fresh look at teachers' participation in the production and validation of knowledge. Valuing teachers' embodied knowledge and the unique position teachers hold within the education system, this paper is a window on the present, and suggests the direction the conversation should take in order to move education policy beyond the endless accumulation of evidence towards impactful change. This research examines critical elements of knowledge management and industry 4.0 that assist human resources in the air transport industry. In addition, we look at the essential components that connect the divide between Industry 4.0 and knowledge management. This paper uses the Grey- DEMATEL technique to comprehend the cause-and-effect factors and their interrelationships. A seven-scale ranking, and sensitivity analysis was further applied for better results. It was observed from the findings that information sharing (F15) was the most significant factor for the aviation sector as the causal factor was ranked as the top criterion. Joint knowledge creation (F15) was ranked as the second topmost criteria as effect factor. E-learning (F9) is the third-ranking effect factor. This paper seeks to conceptually explore the use of social media platforms such as Twitter as a microblog to share Covid-19 prescribed knowledge through developing a conceptual framework of university ecosystem knowledge regime. The literature discusses data science (DS) as a very promising set of techniques and tools to support lean production (LP) practices. DS could aid manufacturing companies in transforming massive real-time data into meaningful knowledge, increasing process transparency and product quality information and supporting improvement activities through data-driven decision-making. However, no attempt has been made in the literature to formalise the links between DS and LP practices. Thus, this study aims to overcome this gap by clarifying the DS techniques and tools that can support LP practices and how to apply them. This study employs a quantitative bibliometric method – specifically, a keyword co-occurrence network analysis – on a set of papers extracted from Scopus. The results obtained allowed the researchers to identify a set of DS techniques and tools that can support LP practices and to develop a model to guide their implementation based on the typical improvement implementation stages of the plan-do-check-act cycle. The model shows how to use DS techniques and tools in LP for: identifying areas for improvement and subsequent implementation (plan); enabling a better knowledge and process management (do); identifying/predicting potential problems and employing statistical process control (check); providing remedial actions and effectively applying process improvement (act). The paper investigates the impact of digital technologies in the academic entrepreneurship by enhancing the creation of public value and engaging with stakeholders in all the stages of the entrepreneurial process. We analyse the university of Bari as a pilot case to show emerging digital technologies in the academic environment. The research question is answered through a single case study approach based on Yin's prescriptions.The analysis consists in a single case study and includes semi-structured interviews with student representatives, the Rector, the General Director, the IT coordinator and the academic delegate for innovation. Knowledge management is intended to achieve organisational goals through effective management of knowledge resources and performance. This paper presents a review of knowledge management effects and performance in health care. Six databases were searched, the searches employing Boolean operators and combinations of key words. In total, 16 articles fulfilled the criteria set for inclusion. Data were analysed using inductive content analysis. The review shows that in health care knowledge management effects and performance have been viewed from various perspectives: it has been linked to health care functions such as management, finance, patient care, quality and safety, IT, continued improvement of clinical operations, and organisational culture. However, the effects of knowledge management extend also to employees' work, job satisfaction, learning, knowledge distribution, and productivity. This review aims to summarise the recent research on knowledge management effects and performance in health care. Some of the effects are universal and some are context-specific. Given the relevance of project risk management (PRM) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which need to adopt an efficient and effective methodology coherent with their peculiarities to support their innovation and growth, this research provides a framework derived from systematic literature that could foster the adoption of PRM in SMEs. It offers an extended and iterative PRM process that includes the strategic selection and evaluation of projects, a flexible a dynamic approach according to the characteristic of the SME and the project, the inclusion of the stakeholders' perspective, the mitigation of potential bias on risks evaluation, the use of risk clustering to improve project organization, the adoption of systematic and transparent communication to increase awareness on risk exposure, and the integration of Risk Knowledge Management into the PRM process, in order to obtain an enterprise learning process. Due to the lack of a significant volume of research on factors that affect employee fluctuation in the quality management profession, the paper is focused on exploring certain individual and organizational factors as possible influencers on quality management professionals' turnover. As a business and employment-oriented social networking service, LinkedIn was used to gain data on education, contacts, company ownership type, workplace type, and fluctuation behavior of 1014 quality management professionals. For statistical analysis, χ2 contingency table, ANOVA with Tukey/Tamhane posthoc, and CHAID Decision Tree Analysis were employed. The results showed that employees' fluctuation depends on the degree of education, career development activities as well as the type of current examinee workplace. There is also an association between the type of company ownership and employee fluctuations. Further, the greater number of LinkedIn contacts was found to be related to more pronounced fluctuation. Since employees' fluctuation significantly influences company performance and competitiveness, the paper could provide valuable insight for managers to understand what could predict employees' fluctuation, which is especially important for knowledge-based contemporary organizations. In this paper, we aimed to develop a system for knowledge management mimicking the memory in the human brain. This system was used to create a multilingual guide for patients suffering from disorders of the spine. We viewed the transfer of knowledge as the transmission of a chain of small, interchangeable, semantic units. We defined the smallest amount of information that can be accurately communicated as a Knowledge Transfer Unit (KTU). Combining these KTUs in different sequences allowed us to create text chapters on more than 70 diseases. Through using KTUs, we reduced the number of characters by 72%, from 528,821 in the final output files to only 147,451 in our text database. This paper aims at examining the role played by Industry 4.0 (I4.0) on the relationship between knowledge management (KM) practices (i.e., knowledge acquisition, knowledge dissemination, and responsiveness to knowledge) and innovation performance (represented by process and product innovation). For that, 153 practitioners from manufacturing firms in India and Brazil were surveyed. The data were analysed through multivariate data techniques. This study was grounded on the concepts from the socio-technical systems theory. Our findings indicated that I4.0 design principles positively moderate the relationship between KM practices and innovation performance. In particular, this moderation seems to be more prominent for product innovation performance, although it was also found for process innovation performance. I4.0 design principles determine the expected mindset and behaviours in companies undergoing digital transformation. Physicists in academic institutions utilize a variety of resources and strategies to seek, find, and use scholarly information and news. Using a sample of physicists, researchers surveyed 182 students and faculty at seven Canadian university institutions to explore self-perceived success rates, resources consulted, databases used, and use of social media and citation management systems. To complement the survey, 11 follow up interviews/focus groups were completed with participants to further uncover information-seeking behaviors, choices, strategies, and feelings around keeping up to date with information needs. According to survey results, a minority of physicists (15.4%) acknowledged that they were successfully keeping up to date. However, a significant number of physicists (28.6%) indicated that they were unsuccessful and could do better in remaining current with information needs. Co-investigators, using qualitative analyses, identified four emergent themes: (1) There are "too many papers – and not enough time" to effectively search, evaluate and read scholarly papers of interest; (2) Staying up to date is important especially in competitive research areas; (3) Graduate students seek information differently than faculty and experienced researchers; and (4) The arXiv database is important to many physicists. The data-driven method has been widely used to mine knowledge from the smart shop floors' production data to guide dynamic scheduling. However, the mined knowledge may be invalid when the production scene changes. In order to address this problem and ensure the validity of the knowledge, this paper studies a data-driven scheduling knowledge life-cycle management (SKLM) method for the smart shop floor. The proposed method includes four phases: knowledge generation, knowledge application, online knowledge evaluation, and knowledge update. Specifically, the extreme learning machine (ELM) is applied to learn knowledge based on the composite scheduling rules. The quality control theory is used to evaluate the quality of scheduling knowledge. And the online sequential ELM (OS-ELM) is adopted to update the knowledge. Knowledge life-cycle management is implemented through the iterative knowledge update. The proposed method is validated on the MIMAC6, which is a simulation model of the semiconductor production line. Despite the growing interest in knowledge management (KM) for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), research on this topic is still fragmented and loosely focused. This paper adds to this research by providing a state-of-the-art of the current literature and outlining overlooked areas of investigation in order to address further studies towards bridging this gap. To this purpose, through a systematic review process, 121 articles have been coded and analysed according to distinct dimensions. Findings reveal that, despite the growing trend of papers on the topic, research on KM in HEIs is still in its embryonic stage with high levels of heterogeneity and lack of wider theoretical constructs. Furthermore, a thematic analysis highlights six main research concepts, from which this paper derives a comprehensive framework integrating the key issues from the literature and suggesting new possible research avenues in the field. E-commerce has provided ample opportunities for facilitating rural economic development. However, the existing rural e-commerce models are far from enough to reach potential customers and satisfy their heterogeneous needs. To fully leverage the advantages of e-commerce, the rural economy needs innovative business models to sustain its growth. Some rural Internet celebrities, such as Li Ziqi in China, have recognized the values of short videos and used them as a creative entrepreneurial model to promote and sell their products to customers in rural areas. This paper applies the reverse engineering method to study and generalize Li Ziqi's entrepreneurial process in rural e-commerce based on the information adoption model and attention mechanism. We find that Li Ziqi's short videos promote rural e-commerce by attracting consumers' attention through the associated distinctive cultural knowledge. The unique, heterogeneous knowledge of products can boost rural e-commerce via short videos as the intermediaries. Short videos' attention mechanism facilitates the development of new business models driven by business influences for rural e-commerce. This paper empirically examines the effects of customers who invested in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on the technological capabilities of a firm for upgrading toward Industry 4.0. This paper focuses on three groups of firm technological capabilities such as production planning, inventory management, and data analysis. Each group consists of four levels of technological capabilities ranging from the fundamental to the most complex levels of technology usage. A hierarchical multiple linear regression method is used to analyze 141 respondents collected from the Thai manufacturing firms during March–April 2019. The results indicate that customers who invested in ICTs significantly and positively affect the technological capability upgrading of a firm in the groups of production planning, inventory management, and data analysis. However, there is no evidence to support that customers who invested in ICTs have positively affected firms to achieve the most complex levels of technology usage in these three groups. For the engineering implications, managers are encouraged to work closely with customers, especially customers with high technological capability. Knowledge is recognised as having more value when it is created and shared amongst stakeholders. Applying knowledge management principles can assist tourism organisations in achieving a competitive advantage. Importantly though, one-way, top-down transfer of knowledge, particularly in developing countries, can result in ignoring valuable local knowledge and compromise sustainable development objectives. Certainly, when considering the context of sustainable tourism, relying solely on more powerful stakeholders' knowledge inputs to make decisions can result in injustice and undermine sustainability values. Given the importance of justice principles to sustainable tourism, this study applies the concept of organisational justice with a focus on the three dimensions of distributive, procedural and interactional justice to examine local knowledge sharing in tourism development. To address issues of justice and fairness in the context of sustainable tourism development, this study proposes a safe space framework to facilitate knowledge sharing in a local context that is based on recognition of diversity in social patterns and embedding multiple forms and sources of knowledge. This conceptual paper contributes to the framing of justice principles with regards to local knowledge sharing and discusses practical implications for how different claims of justice by local actors can be addressed in sustainable tourism development. Although in recent years intangible assets are considered a basic factor of production, it is necessary to show that their mere possession will not always guarantee superior performance. Accordingly, based on the resource-based view of the firm and the intellectual capital-based view, this paper has a twofold purpose. First, it analyses the existing relationship between sustainable intangible capital and performance. Second, it analyses the role played by corporate social responsibility and strategic knowledge management as mediator capabilities in the relationship between sustainable intangible capital and performance. Three hypotheses are proposed and a quantitative methodology based on PLS on 120 Spanish hotels with three or more stars is used. The findings do not support the hypothesis that sustainable intangible capital directly influences hotel performance. However, the two mediating hypotheses are supported, showing that corporate social responsibility and strategic knowledge management act as mediators by creating the values, philosophy and necessary foundations for sustainable intangible capital to have a significant influence on hotel performance. Brokerage is a process through which actors gain strategic advantage from being in-between two others. Traditionally, research has focused on people and organizations to understand how brokerage either facilitates or impedes the transmission of information or knowledge, and how this impacts both the actors and their networks. Here, we demonstrate how firms and other economic actors facilitate brokerage between cities and regions by drawing upon research from eight special issue papers. Collecting examples from the current COVID-19 crisis, this paper discusses the role of prosocial expert knowledge behaviour that is proposed to produce resourceful heuristic methods such as experimentations, extensions, combinations, and reconversions, under causal and intervening conditions. In turn, these resourceful heuristic methods are proposed to have a positive influence on organisational coping strategies, organisational crisis readiness, and organisational survival. Mass personalisation production is one of the strategic priorities for the next transformation of the production paradigm and market economy. With the purpose of offering personalised products to satisfy customers on an individual basis, tacit knowledge rooted in individuals has become increasingly accepted as an integral part of product design. This paper aims to explore the state-of-the-art in tacit knowledge management with a product design focus. Particularly, methods for tacit knowledge acquisition, transfer, and reuse are reviewed and analysed. Research on tacit knowledge acquisition is mainly dedicated to making tacit knowledge explicit. In knowledge transfer, both formal and informal approaches have been adopted to enable knowledge circulation. Research on tacit knowledge reuse is much less and scattered, and the main work focuses on user modelling and the reuse of empirical knowledge. Five challenges of tacit knowledge management are identified in this paper: lack of unified tacit knowledge definition, massive heterogeneous data, authenticity and completeness verification, uncertainty and gaps in bridging tacit knowledge management and personalised design, lack of practical knowledge sharing and inheritance tools. To fill these research gaps, five thematic future directions are suggested with possible visions to facilitate knowledge circulation, customer co-creation and innovation in mass personalised design. This paper aims to advance the state of knowledge related to innovation and philanthropy, by exploring the emerging field of 'participatory grantmaking' (PGM) through the lens of innovation literature. While there are increasing amounts of European and global grantmakers utilizing more participatory methodologies in their grantmaking as a means to move power and increase the collective ability to create social good, there is yet to be any literature specifically exploring the links between these two fields. This conceptual paper, therefore, uses a broad reading of innovation literature to argue that it is most fruitful to consider PGM as innovation within four modalities: as a form of social innovation, process innovation, both radical and incremental innovation, and user-driven innovation. The paper ultimately finds that user-driven innovation (and in particular co-creation / co-production as a strategy to user-driven innovation) may provide the best examples of theory and practical relevance for those utilizing PGM as a means to democratize philanthropy in Europe and beyond. There is trauma in how Indigenous knowledge collections in libraries are managed. This paper seeks to understand the tikanga Māori context of Indigenous knowledges management in library collection policies. A review of selected library policies from five major AotearoaNew Zealand libraries regarding collection development, tikanga Māori integration and specifically Māori collection content will be explored using a modified Mead's Tikanga Test (of 2003). From this analysis will be inferred the ways in which the various library policies negate or affirm tikanga Māori. This will be followed by a brief introduction to the model Ngā Matatiki Mātauranga for culturally safe management of Indigenous collections to be integrated into collection policies. This paper will draw from a Māori perspective, in Aotearoa-New Zealand. The testing of library policies from five major libraries will drive the findings to represent the state of Indigenous collection policy in Aotearoa and how best for Māori to distinguish our futures in libraries. Production control in the manufacturing industry involves complex circumstances and high demand for timeliness. Unlike traditional production control methods, the approach that integrates machine learning and industrial big data can enable manufacturing industries to dynamically adapt to the changing environment and respond in a timely manner to market changes due to production optimisation and improve economic benefits. In order to explore the relationship between production system optimisation and lean strategic planning based on machine learning and big data, the paper conducts an exploratory case analysis based on Suzhou GCL Photovoltaic Technology, a successful company in the photovoltaic industry in China. We sort and investigate the first-hand interview data and second-hand news and video data, and then use the qualitative research method. Based on the analysis and observation, we find that machine learning has a positive impact on quality management. Data, information, knowledge, intelligence collectively impact the performance of intelligence production systems. Building on previous studies, this paper addresses the geopolitics of knowledge circulation in an academic field known as sociolinguistics in France, showing firstly the common erasure of research produced in the Global South and in languages other than English, and secondly the need to decolonise entire fields of research, in which analytic frameworks are mostly produced in hegemonic Global centres. As part of this special issue, we ask how far concepts rooted in Southern or non-hegemonic experiences are marginalised, co-opted or reused in academic circles in the West in general and in France in particular. As a modest epistemological contribution, this paper then focuses on two concepts – sumak kawsay/buen vivir and translanguaging – looking at their archaeology and development and at how they circulate in these fields, both in Northern and Southern academic circles. This paper analyses the characteristics of a knowledge management system supporting an Engineer-To-Order manufacturing strategy in the context of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In every sector, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of mental health resources for wellbeing. Although scholars have long recognized the interdependent relationship between academic success and positive mental health, research that can be used to guide mental health service design and delivery in post-secondary institutions is relatively unexplored. Further, the experiences of practitioners, in their day-to-day operations toward understanding and responding to student mental health problems, are an under-recognized source of data that can contribute to more effective planning and implementation. The objective of this project is to use practitioner action research principles to design, implement, and evaluate a mental health and addiction services plan at Brock University in Ontario, Canada. This paper details what occurred in the plan-act-observe-reflect cycles as practitioners gathered qualitative data using interviews and the World Café methodology. Results show improvement in student satisfaction ratings with on-campus mental health services. Our experience reveals that practitioner action research is a useful framework for practitioners seeking a systematic process to contribute to both fields of knowledge and fields of practice. This paper presents an ontology for AFDD (Automated Fault Detection and Diagnostics) of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning) systems in buildings called "AFDDOnto". Presently, the AFDD models are mainly data-centric and often lack semantic information such as contextual information and spatial information; additionally, configuration information, analysis, and results used for model development are lost once developed. This impedes an effective mechanism for tracking changes and updating the model for future developments and use cases. The Proposed ontology can be used for AFDD model development, tracking changes, analytics, visualization, and digital twinning by enabling integration of BIM with BAS/BMS (Building Automation System/Building Management System) concepts and secondly to store AFDD configuration and analytics in the AFDDOnto. Select competency questions are constructed using SPARQL queries to access the proposed knowledge model. The proposed ontology has been tested against different measures using multiple metrics and a case study and further validated using a semi-structured survey of experts. Applied AI engineers, Facility managers, Asset managers, and building owners aiming to develop AFDD models for HVAC systems can benefit from adopting this ontology for HVAC maintenance, including analysis, model development, and knowledge management. Processing large and heterogeneous numbers of ideas submitted to crowdsourcing contests is a regular challenge for idea evaluators. The aim of this study is to investigate a potential use case for AI-based innovation management and to extend the knowledge of using automated novelty detection in idea evaluation processes. AI-based language models can automatically allocate short texts according to their semantic similarity in an embedded space. We represent the semantic content of crowdsourced ideas with the three contemporary text embeddings – Doc2Vec, SBERT, and GPT-3-based Ada Similarity – and compute their semantic distance to different reference sets using different novelty detection algorithms. We then compare the algorithm-generated scores with human novelty assessments to validate them. While selected novelty scores based on text embeddings correlate with humans, our results show that scores based on SBERT embeddings best match human novelty assessments. We also find that AI-based novelty detection approaches perform better for ideas below the median word count and when compared to a set of existing solutions, suggesting that the chosen language model is not the only factor influencing the applicability of the proposed approach. Furthermore, the study highlights important features and limitations of automatically generated novelty scores that need to be considered when complementing evaluators searching for new ideas in crowdsourcing contests and beyond.
