In recent years, many projects have been developed to reduce the energy consumption of buildings, both from the point of view of energy efficiency and the integration of renewable energies. However, few projects are related to the problem of integrating DER in environments dominated by high-tech equipment, the so-called ”critical loads”: data centers, railroad stations, airports, and hospitals. The European Interreg Sudoe IMPROVEMENT project aim is to renovate existing public buildings where critical loads predominate, converting them into nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEB), and for this purpose, it integrates combined cooling, heat, and power (CCHP) microgrid with renewable and other distributed energy resources (DER) like hybrid energy storage systems (ESS). With still one year to go before the end of the project, the consortium partners present in this position paper the latest progress of their respective work packages to date.

In this paper, a comprehensive statistics-based review of islanding detection methods (IDMs) in microgrids (MGs) is presented. Islanding detection is the situation of isolating the MG from the main grid whether programmed as a result of load managing purposes or un-programmed due to the occurrence of faults. Islanding detection is a vital issue in MG's analyses due to the prevention of subsequent protection problems in the power system. In other words, when the MG's operation mode changes, the current passing through the protective devices changes subsequently and the protection system should be able to adapt the new settings to the protective devices. So, IDMs are vital for electrical engineers to overcome the abovementioned protection issue. This review paper surveys the existing literature in IDMs by concentration on total publications, type of publications (journal, conference paper, or book), five authors with the highest number of publications (including the affiliations), and five most published sources. Also, the five most cited publications and state-of-the-art IDMs are investigated in detail, utilizing some known and novel categorizations. The distribution system's economic operation is significantly impacted by the management of distributed generation (DG) resources, energy storage (ES), and controllable loads. The paper employs a smart distribution system that incorporates dispatchable and non‐dispatchable DG resources, as well as battery storage, in addition to the demand response (DR) scheme. New modelling was performed in hourly steps to achieve the optimal unit commitment. In smart homes, appliances are prioritized and classified into four types: adjustable, interruptible, shiftable, and uncontrollable loads. Load reduction in smart homes is also considered based on load prioritization and customer participation in the DR scheme to achieve the proposed scheme's objectives. The proposed method considers costs associated with microturbines (MTs), including manufacturing, start‐up, shutdown, and pollution. Additionally, planning is conducted to purchase or sell electricity to the upstream network. The simulation is run on an IEEE 33‐bus system to demonstrate the proposed method's effectiveness. The system is assumed to be capable of operation in both island and grid‐connected modes. Integrated energy microgrids and shared energy storage have significant benefits in improving the energy utilization of the system, which is gradually becoming the current research hotspot. And the uncertainty of new energy output also significantly affects the stable and economic operation of integrated energy microgrid. So how to establish a set of integrated energy microgrids optimization operation model considering photovoltaic (PV) output uncertainty and shared energy storage is an urgent problem to be solved nowadays. Firstly, this paper introduces the framework of an integrated energy system microgrid containing a shared energy storage operator (ESO), and analyzes the scheduling method of the upper tier operator within the system as well as the economic benefits at the lower tier user end. Secondly, to address the randomness of PV output, Monte Carlo method is used to generate the scenarios, and then the scenarios are cut down by using the fast antecedent elimination technique. Then, an optimal operation model is established for micro grid operator (MGO) and user aggregator (UA), respectively, and based on the master-slave game relationship, so that the MGO is the leader and the UA is the follower, a Stackelberg game model is proposed to consider the integrated demand response of electricity and heat between the MGO and UA in the context of the participation of ESO in the auxiliary service of the UA. Finally, the proposed model is brought into a typical residential building community for simulation verification, and the results show that the model proposed in this paper can effectively balance the interests of MGOs and UAs, and realize win-win benefits for UA and ESO. To achieve frequency stability and economic efficiency in isolated microgrids, grid operators face a trade-off between multiple performance indicators. This paper introduces a data-driven adaptive load frequency control (DD-ALFC) approach, where the load frequency controller is modeled as an agent that can balance different objectives autonomously. The paper also proposes a priority replay soft actor critic (PR-SAC) algorithm to implement the DD-ALFC method. The PR-SAC algorithm enhances the policy randomness by using entropy regularization and maximization, and improves the learning adaptability and generalization by using priority experience replay. The proposed DD-ALFC method based on the PR-SAC algorithm can achieve higher adaptability and robustness in complex microgrid environments with multiple performance indicators, and improve both the frequency control and the economic efficiency. In the context of the global drive towards sustainability and rapid integration of renewables, electric vehicles, and charging infrastructure, the need arises for advanced operational strategies that support the grid while managing the intermittent nature of these resources. Microgrids emerge as a solution, operating independently or alongside the main grid to facilitate power flow management among interconnected sources and different loads locally. This review paper aims to offer a comprehensive overview of the different control strategies proposed in the literature to control microgrids with electric vehicle charging stations. The surveyed research is primarily categorized according to the employed control algorithms, although distinctions are also made based on defined microgrid architecture, utilization of specific power sources, and charging stations configurations. Additionally, this paper identifies research gaps in the current research. These gaps encompass the use of oversimplified models for charging stations and/or renewable sources operation, limited simulation time periods, or lack of experimental testing of proposed approaches. To enhance the power supply reliability of the microgrid cluster consisting of AC/DC hybrid microgrids, this paper proposes an innovative structure that enables backup power to be accessed quickly in the event of power source failure. The structure leverages the quick response characteristics of thyristor switches, effectively reducing the power outage time. The corresponding control strategy is introduced in detail in this paper. Furthermore, taking practical considerations into account, two types of AC/DC hybrid microgrid structures are designed for grid-connected and islanded states. These microgrids exhibit strong distributed energy consumption capabilities, simple control strategies, and high power quality. Additionally, the aforementioned structures are constructed within the MATLAB/Simulink R2023a simulation software. Their feasibility is verified, and comparisons with the existing studies are conducted using specific examples. Finally, the cost and efficiency of the application of this study are discussed. Cloud model similarity algorithm is an important part of cloud modelling theory. Most of the existing cloud model similarity algorithms suffer from poor discriminability, poor classification, unstable results, and low time efficiency. In this paper, a new similarity algorithm is proposed that considers the triangular cloud model distance and shape. First, according to the D T distance formula, a new exponential closeness measure is defined, with which the distance similarity of cloud models is characterized. Then, the shape similarity is calculated according to the variance of the cloud model cloud drops. Finally, the two similarities are synthesized to define a similarity algorithm for determining the distance from the D T distance formula and shape based on the triangular cloud model (DDTSTCM). In this paper, discriminability, stability, efficiency and theoretical interpretability are taken as the evaluation indices. Equipment security system capability evaluation experiment, cloud model differentiation simulation experiment and time series classification accuracy experiment are set up to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm in terms of the four above aspects. The experimental results show that DDTSTCM has good differentiation and excellent classification effects. In the classification experiment for the time series, the average classification accuracy of DDTSTCM reaches 91.78%, which is at least 2.78% higher than those of the other seven commonly used algorithms. The CPU running efficiency of DDTSTCM is also extremely high, and the average CPU running time of group training is always on the order of milliseconds, which effectively reduces the time cost. Finally, a case study is conducted to analyse a risk assessment problem for China's island microgrid industry, and the evaluation results based on DDTSTCM are in line with human cognition and have good value for engineering applications. Due to the advantages of micro‐grids including power losses and voltage drops reduction, reliability improvement and reduction in transmission network cost, numerous clean micro‐grids including renewable resources such as wind, tidal and solar are developed in different countries of world. The investment cost of the renewable energy‐based generation units especially tidal barrages is high, and to generate the cost‐effective electricity from the renewable resources, the optimization process should be performed. In this paper, optimal planning of a micro‐grid containing energy storage device and new mixture of renewable resources including tidal barrage and photovoltaic system is performed. For this purpose, optimal characteristics of barrage type tidal plant including number of turbines, sluices and hydro‐pumps, turbine tip and hub diameters and sluice width are determined to maximum energy of tidal plant is generated. Then, number of photovoltaic systems and batteries are obtained to supply the required load in minimum cost. To optimize the objective functions, different heuristic approaches including particle swarm, genetic and imperial competitive algorithms (ICAs) are applied, in the paper. To study the effectiveness of the proposed approach, optimal planning of a micro‐grid is performed. This paper describes an innovative method to provide a micro-electric tractor which has been developed as part of an initiative that aims to provide socially inclusive and affordable green energy solutions to smallholders in sub-Saharan Africa. It utilizes a 15.0-kW solar array and battery system to power micro-electric tractors for an agricultural practice called deep bed farming in Malawi. Deep bed farming increases smallholder crop yield by about two and half times, which increases revenue by up to 12 times. The extra revenue can then be used to perpetually purchase domestic energy from the solar array, creating a self-sustaining model for decentralized energy access. However, the requirement for land preparation is onerous, and mechanization is needed to help overcome barriers to entry. This paper describes the technical requirements of a solar base station and micro-tractor for use with the deep bed farming technique. The objective of a power system is to provide electricity to its customers as economically as possible with an acceptable level of reliability while safeguarding the environment. Power system reliability assessments are routinely performed to ensure adequate system resources and reliable operation using well-established methods, quantitative metrics, regulatory standards and compliance incentives in the jurisdictions of responsibilities. The alarming increase in the occurrence of extreme events, which are not included in routine reliability evaluation, has raised growing concerns due to the catastrophic impacts of these events on distribution systems. The potential economic losses due to prolonged and large-scale outages have motivated utility planners, operators and policy makers to acknowledge the importance of system resiliency against such events. Power system resiliency, however, lacks widely accepted modeling frameworks, standards, assessment methods and metrics. This paper presents a resilience assessment framework, along with quantifiable metrics to assess the resiliency of a distribution system against extreme winds, which are among the most common form of natural disasters affecting the North American region. The paper assesses the effectiveness of infrastructural and operational resilience enhancement strategies. With the development of distributed generation and power electronics technology, DC microgrids have made certain progress with their advantages of simple structure, economic efficiency, and easy control. Considering factors such as the geographical location of some residential areas, microgrids with fuel cells that can operate independently are also receiving increasing attention. In this paper, an online control method named virtual hydrogen consumption is proposed based on an independent DC microgrid which solves the problem of electro‐hydrogen conversion successfully. By solving the overall consumption function, the analytical solution is further obtained to realize the online control. With the rapid development of renewable energy and the increasing maturity of energy storage technology, microgrids are quickly becoming popular worldwide. The stochastic scheduling problem of microgrids can increase operational costs and resource wastage. In order to reduce operational costs and optimize resource utilization efficiency, the real-time scheduling of microgrids becomes particularly important. After collecting extensive data, reinforcement learning (RL) can provide good strategies. However, it cannot make quick and rational decisions in different environments. As a method with generalization ability, meta-learning can compensate for this deficiency. Therefore, this paper introduces a microgrid scheduling strategy based on RL and meta-learning. This method can quickly adapt to different environments with a small amount of training data, enabling rapid energy scheduling policy generation in the early stages of microgrid operation. This paper first establishes a microgrid model, including components such as energy storage, load, and distributed generation (DG). Then, we use a meta-reinforcement learning framework to train the initial scheduling strategy, considering the various operational constraints of the microgrid. The experimental results show that the MAML-based RL strategy has advantages in improving energy utilization and reducing operational costs in the early stages of microgrid operation. Municipal water supply system (WSS) consist of different pumping stages viz. intake, water treatment plant (WTP) and intermediate pumping station (IPS). Usually, the power supply for WSS is obtained through public power tapping sources. However, this often leads to load shedding and disruption of the water supply. This paper focuses on the concept, considering WSS as a multi-source multi-area microgrid scheme, this includes renewable energy sources (RES) such as solar, wind, etc. Moreover, the study incorporates a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and a Diesel Engine Generator (DEG) to provide power supply during peak demand at each pumping station. Frequency control is essential for optimizing system performance. This paper proposes Enhanced Harris Hawks Optimization Algorithm (EHHO) based PID controller for regulating the frequency in the multi-microgrid-based water supply system. The proposed controller is implemented in MATLAB simulation software, and its response is compared with other optimization methods such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO). Moreover, implementation and comparison of higher degree order controller such as 3DOF-FOPIDN controller and 3DOF-TIDN controllers are tested under PSO method to observe the performance as well as robustness of the controller. The results indicate that the proposed controller provides better performance in controlling the load frequency deviation, thus improving the efficiency and reliability of the multi-microgrid system for consideration of municipal water supply. Load variation, distributed power output uncertainty and multi‐microgrids network complexity have brought great difficulties to the frequency stability of the whole microgrid. To address this problem, this paper uses a multi‐agent deep reinforcement learning(DRL) algorithm to design the controllers to control the frequency of the multi‐microgrids. Firstly, a load frequency control (LFC) model for multi‐microgrids was built. Secondly, based on the centralized training and decentralized execution (CTDE) multi‐agent reinforcement learning (RL) framework, the multi‐agent soft actor‐critic (MASAC) algorithm was designed and applied to the multi‐microgrids model. The state space and action space of multi‐agent were established according to the frequency deviation of every sub‐microgrid and the output of each distributed power source. The reward function was then established according to the frequency deviation. The appropriate neural network and training parameters were selected to generate the interconnected microgrid controllers through multiple training of pre‐learning. Finally, the simulation study shows that the MASAC controller proposed in this paper can quickly maintain frequency stability when the system is disturbed. A reasonable allocation of production schedules and savings in overall electricity costs are crucial for large manufacturing conglomerates. In this study, we develop an optimization model of off-site industrial production scheduling to address the problems of high electricity costs due to the irrational allocation of production schedules on the demand side of China's power supply, and the difficulty in promoting industrial and commercial distributed photovoltaic (PV) projects in China. The model makes full use of the conditions of different PV resources and variations in electricity prices in different places to optimize the scheduling of industrial production in various locations. The model is embedded with two sub-models, i.e., an electricity price prediction model and a distributed photovoltaic power cost model to complete the model parameters, in which the electricity price prediction model utilizes a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network. Then, the particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to solve the optimization model. Finally, the production data of two off-site pharmaceutical factories belonging to the same large group of enterprises are substituted into the model for example analysis, and it is concluded that the optimization model can significantly reduce the electricity consumption costs of the enterprises by about 7.9%. The scale of multi-microgrid (MMG) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCVs) is increasing dramatically with the increase in the new energy penetration ratio, and developing an integrated energy system containing a multi-microgrid for hydrogen fuel vehicles brings great challenges to power grid operation. Focusing on the difficulties of the access of multiple microgrids for the low-carbon and economic operation of the system, this paper proposes an optimal interconnected heterogeneous multi-microgrid power–heat–carbon scheduling strategy for hydrogen-fueled vehicles. Firstly, an HFCV model is established, and then an optimal scheduling model is constructed for the cooperative trading of power–heat–carbon in a multi-microgrid, on the basis of which the low-carbon economic operation of the multi-microgrid is realized. The results of the case study show that the scheduling strategy in this paper reduces carbon emissions by about 7.12% and costs by about 3.41% compared with the independent operation of the multi-microgrid. Due to the unpredictability of the majority of green energy sources (GESs), particularly in microgrids (μGs), frequency deviations are unavoidable. These factors include solar irradiance, wind disturbances, and parametric uncertainty, all of which have a substantial impact on the system's frequency. An adaptive load frequency control (LFC) method for power systems is suggested in this paper to mitigate the aforementioned issues. For engineering challenges, soft computing methods like the bat algorithm (BA), where it proves its effectiveness in different applications, consistently produce positive outcomes, so it is used to address the LFC issue. For online gain tuning, an integral controller using an artificial BA is utilized, and this control method is supported by a modification known as the balloon effect (BE) identifier. Stability and robustness of analysis of the suggested BA+BE scheme is investigated. The system with the proposed adaptive frequency controller is evaluated in the case of step/random load demand. In addition, high penetrations of photovoltaic (PV) sources are considered. The standard integral controller and Jaya+BE, two more optimization techniques, have been compared with the suggested BA+BE strategy. According to the results of the MATLAB simulation, the suggested technique (BA+BE) has a significant advantage over other techniques in terms of maintaining frequency stability in the presence of step/random disturbances and PV source. The suggested method successfully keeps the frequency steady over I and Jaya+BE by 61.5% and 31.25%, respectively. With advancements in communication systems and measurement technologies, smart grids have become more observable and controllable, evolving into cyberphysical-power systems (CPPS). The impact of network security and secondary equipment on power system stability has become more evident. To support the existing grid toward a smart grid scenario, smart metering plays a vital role at the customer end side. Cyber-Physical systems are vulnerable to cyber-attacks and various techniques have been evolved to detect a cyber attack in the smart grid. Weighted trust-based models are suggested as one of the most effective security mechanisms. A hardware-in-loop CPPS co-simulation platform is established to facilitate the theoretical study of CPPS and the formulation of grid operation strategies. This paper examines current co-simulation platform schemes and highlights the necessity for a real-time hard-ware-in-the-loop platform to accurately simulate cyber-attack processes. This consideration takes into account the fundamental differences in modeling between power and communication systems. The architecture of the co-simulation platform based on RT-LAB and OPNET is described, including detailed modeling of the power system, communication system, and security and stability control devices. Additionally, an analysis of the latency of the co-simulation is provided. The paper focuses on modeling and implementing methods for addressing DDOS attacks and man-in-the-middle at-tacks in the communication network. Direct current microgrid (DCMG) clusters are gaining popularity in power systems due to their simplicity and high efficiency. However, DCMG clusters are susceptible to minor disturbances due to low system inertia. This paper proposes a method to enhance the small‐signal stability of a DCMG cluster by optimizing the main control parameters of the system. This paper presents a small‐signal state‐space model of a DCMG cluster system at the system level, considering a multi‐bus network topology. Then, the control parameters that significantly affect the small‐signal stability of the DCMG are selected using the participation factor method. To enhance the system damping, the Pareto‐optimal frontier of the bi‐objective problem was determined using the elite non‐dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA‐II). The optimal compromise is determined by using the fuzzy membership function method to extract it from the generated Pareto optimal front. Being multivariable in nature, voltage and current control loops have controllers in the forward and cross-coupling paths. Most methods discussed in the literature focus on tuning the controllers in the forward paths to reduce the dq coupling. A modified pole-zero cancellation (MPZC) technique has recently been discussed, which uses the concepts of pole-zero cancellation and particle swarm optimization to effectively tune the forward path controllers. However, given the fixed gains in the cross-coupling paths, it is not possible to realize a superior transient response from this technique. Therefore, to achieve enhanced vector control of VSIs under transient conditions, this paper proposes a hybrid MPZC (HMPZC) method, which incorporates multivariable control along with the MPZC technique for both voltage/current control loops. In the proposed HMPZC method, the MPZC method is used to tune the forward path controllers, and multivariable control-based PI controllers are assigned in the cross-coupling paths of dq-axes loops rather than fixed gains. In this paper, these multivariable control-based PI controllers are designed using direct synthesis method-based internal model control (IMC). From the simulation results, it is verified that the proposed HMPZC method has reduced the coupling between the d- and q-axes loops of the current/voltage, leading to the improved transient response and power delivery capability of VSIs. As a deep connection between agriculture and energy, the rural integrated energy system (RIES) is a micro-scale supply-distribution- storage-demand network, which provides an important means to realize the utilization of rural clean energy. This paper proposes a day-ahead scheduling model of the RIES to improve its economical effectiveness, where three energy carriers, namely, biogas, electric power, and heat, are integrated. To address the source and load uncertainties composed of photovoltaic power, power load, and heat load, this paper develops a constrained distributionally robust optimization (CDRO), which optimizes the cost expectation related to the extreme distribution to enhance the robustness, while limiting the loss of cost expectation in the historical distribution to ensure economical effectiveness. In addition, an ambiguous set of the source and load uncertainties incorporating 1-norm and infinity-norm constraints is established, which realizes a flexible adjustment for the conservativeness of CDRO. The distributionally robust dispatch is formulated as a deterministic programming in a two-stage solving framework, where the subproblem uploads its extreme probability distribution to the master problem, and these two problems are iteratively optimized until the convergence. Finally, the numerical simulations in a modern farm park prove the performance of the constructed dispatch model and the flexibility of CDRO in balancing the economical effectiveness and robustness of the dispatch. In recent years, the ever-rising penetration of distributed photovoltaics (PV) power has presented substantial challenges in power system dispatch due to its inherent randomness and unpredictability. To bridge this gap, this paper proposes a two-stage robust optimization method for power system security dispatch considering traditional generators as well as flexible resources, such as load demand response and energy storage systems. Specifically, a price-based demand response model is established to optimize the system's load curve during a day. On this basis, a two-stage optimization problem for day-ahead and intraday power system dispatch model is proposed. The dispatch objective is to minimize the overall cost in worst-case scenarios through properly scheduling unit commitment (UC) as well as flexible resources in each dispatch interval. Column and constraint generation (C&CG) algorithm is adopted for problem solving. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by case studies based on a modified 6-node system and a 24-node system. Simulation results indicate that through appropriately scheduling the energy storage system and load demand response, the proposed dispatch method can significantly reduce the total operation cost of a PV rich power system, which in turn facilitates the integration of PV power. This research paper introduces an optimization methodology for the strategic electric sources' placement at multiple positions in a DC islanded microgrid characterized by a mesh network, aiming to minimize line losses while considering minimal cable weight. The DC microgrid studied in this paper is composed of PV panels, batteries, a diesel generator, and 20 residential loads. Employing Dijkstra's algorithm, a graph algorithm used in Google Maps, the study identifies the shortest path (resistance) between potential source nodes and various variable loads within a predefined electric distribution mesh network topology. This study focuses on active power considerations and offers valuable insights into the placement optimization of multiple sources' positions in DC microgrid mesh networks. A key contribution of this paper lies in the ranking of source node positions based on minimal to maximal line losses, taking into consideration optimal cable weights, while using MATPOWER to validate sources' ranking based on Dijkstra's hypothesis. The energy management (EM) solution of the multi-microgrids (MMGs) is a crucial task to provide more flexibility, reliability, and economic benefits. However, the energy management (EM) of the MMGs became a complex and strenuous task with high penetration of renewable energy resources due to the stochastic nature of these resources along with the load fluctuations. In this regard, this paper aims to solve the EM problem of the MMGs with the optimal inclusion of photovoltaic (PV) systems, wind turbines (WTs), and biomass systems. In this regard, this paper proposed an enhanced Jellyfish Search Optimizer (EJSO) for solving the EM of MMGs for the 85-bus MMGS system to minimize the total cost, and the system performance improvement concurrently. The proposed algorithm is based on the Weibull Flight Motion (WFM) and the Fitness Distance Balance (FDB) mechanisms to tackle the stagnation problem of the conventional JSO technique. The performance of the EJSO is tested on standard and CEC 2019 benchmark functions and the obtained results are compared to optimization techniques. As per the obtained results, EJSO is a powerful method for solving the EM compared to other optimization method like Sand Cat Swarm Optimization (SCSO), Dandelion Optimizer (DO), Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO), Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), and the standard Jellyfish Search Optimizer (JSO). The obtained results reveal that the EM solution by the suggested EJSO can reduce the cost by 44.75% while the system voltage profile and stability are enhanced by 40.8% and 10.56%, respectively. With the growing energy crisis and environmental problems, distributed photovoltaic (PV), as a clean and renewable form of energy, is receiving more and more attention. However, the large-scale access to distributed PV brings a series of challenges to the distribution network, such as voltage fluctuation, frequency deviation, protection coordination, and other problems. In order to solve these problems, this paper provides a research overview of distribution network consumption strategies containing distributed PV. Firstly, this paper introduces the characteristics of distributed PV and its impact on the distribution grid. Then, the difficulties and challenges of distributed PV consumption are analyzed from the technical and economic levels. On this basis, a comprehensive consumption strategy is proposed, including the following aspects: firstly, it is mentioned to optimize the access method of distributed PV and to reduce the impact on the distribution grid by reasonably choosing the access point and access capacity of distributed PV. Secondly, it summarizes the ways to improve the regulation capacity of distribution networks and improve the consumption capacity of distribution networks for distributed PV through the introduction of energy storage equipment, flexible loads, and other means. Finally, advanced control strategies are summarized to improve the stability and reliability of the distribution network by implementing measures such as power prediction, voltage control, and protection coordination for distributed PV. The semantic segmentation of the 3D operating environment represents the key to intelligent mining shovels' autonomous digging and loading operation. However, the complexity of the operating environment of intelligent mining shovels presents challenges, including the variety of scene targets and the uneven number of samples. This results in low accuracy of 3D semantic segmentation and reduces the autonomous operation accuracy of the intelligent mine shovels. To solve these issues, this paper proposes a 3D point cloud semantic segmentation network based on memory enhancement and lightweight attention mechanisms. This model addresses the challenges of an uneven number of sampled scene targets, insufficient extraction of key features to reduce the semantic segmentation accuracy, and an insufficient lightweight level of the model to reduce deployment capability. Firstly, we investigate the memory enhancement learning mechanism, establishing a memory module for key semantic features of the targets. Furthermore, we address the issue of forgetting non-dominant target point cloud features caused by the unbalanced number of samples and enhance the semantic segmentation accuracy. Subsequently, the channel attention mechanism is studied. An attention module based on the statistical characteristics of the channel is established. The adequacy of the expression of the key features is improved by adjusting the weights of the features. This is done in order to improve the accuracy of semantic segmentation further. Finally, the lightweight mechanism is studied by adopting the deep separable convolution instead of conventional convolution to reduce the number of model parameters. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of semantic segmentation in the 3D scene and reduce the model's complexity. Semantic segmentation accuracy is improved by 7.15% on average compared with the experimental control methods, which contributes to the improvement of autonomous operation accuracy and safety of intelligent mining shovels. A grid-forming wind generation system exhibits exceptional grid frequency support abilities. The DC capacitor of the grid-forming wind generation system, which is characterized by rapid response and high sensitivity to minor disturbances, can provide short-term inertia support for the power system. This paper proposes the capacitor virtual inertia control for the grid-forming wind generation system, coupling the DC capacitor voltage with the power system frequency, which enables the DC capacitor to participate in the system frequency response process and reduces the rate of change of the system frequency during the disturbance. To analyze the inertia of the wind power generation system, this paper establishes an equivalent Philips-Heffron model for the grid-forming wind generation system and uses the equivalent inertia constant to quantify the inertia of the wind power generation system. With the rapid development of hydrogen production by water electrolysis, the coupling between the electricity-hydrogen system has become closer, providing an effective way to consume surplus new energy generation. As a form of centralized management of distributed energy resources, virtual power plants can aggregate the integrated energy production and consumption segments in a certain region and participate in electricity market transactions as a single entity to enhance overall revenue. Based on this, this paper proposes an optimal scheduling model of an electricity-hydrogen coupling virtual power plant (EHC-VPP) considering hydrogen load response, relying on hydrogen to ammonia as a flexibly adjustable load-side resource in the EHC-VPP to enable the VPP to participate in the day-ahead energy market to maximize benefits. In addition, this paper also considers the impact of the carbon emission penalty to practice the green development concept of energy saving and emission reduction. Droop control is widely used in multi-terminal flexible DC (VSC-MTDC) transmission systems by virtue of the advantage of multi-station cooperative unbalanced power dissipation, however, the essence of the droop control strategy is to change the DC current to realize the unbalanced power dissipation, and the resulting DC voltage deviation will affect the normal operation of the system. Firstly, this paper theoretically analyses the working characteristics of the conventional droop control and proposes a control method to realize the quasi-differential-free regulation of DC voltage by translating the droop curve. Second, according to the power margin of the converter station, the feedforward compensation amount of each converter station is reasonably set to avoid the power impact on the converter station. Finally, for the problem that the actual value of DC voltage still deviates from the rated value, a control strategy containing secondary regulation of DC voltage is proposed to further restore the DC voltage to the initial value on the basis of ensuring the effect of power regulation, which improves the stability of the operation of the VSC-MTDC system. In order to cope with the problems of energy shortage and environmental pollution, carbon emissions need to be reduced and so the structure of the power grid is constantly being optimized. Traditional centralized power networks are not as capable of controlling and distributing non-renewable energy as distributed power grids. Therefore, the optimal dispatch of microgrids faces increasing challenges. This paper proposes a multi-strategy fusion slime mould algorithm (MFSMA) to tackle the microgrid optimal dispatching problem. Traditional swarm intelligence algorithms suffer from slow convergence, low efficiency, and the risk of falling into local optima. The MFSMA employs reverse learning to enlarge the search space and avoid local optima to overcome these challenges. Furthermore, adaptive parameters ensure a thorough search during the algorithm iterations. The focus is on exploring the solution space in the early stages of the algorithm, while convergence is accelerated during the later stages to ensure efficiency and accuracy. The salp swarm algorithm's search mode is also incorporated to expedite convergence. MFSMA and other algorithms are compared on the benchmark functions, and the test showed that the effect of MFSMA is better. Simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of the MFSMA for function optimization, particularly in solving the 24 h microgrid optimal scheduling problem. This problem considers multiple energy sources such as wind turbines, photovoltaics, and energy storage. A microgrid model based on the MFSMA is established in this paper. Concerning energy waste and rational use, this paper studies the optimal scheduling of day-ahead energy supply and the community's demand with a combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) system in summer. From the perspective of bilateral costs and renewable energy use, this paper examines the impact of energy storage systems integrated into cogeneration systems. The Gurobi solver is used to optimize the residential community's supply and demand sides of the traditional CCHP system (T-CCHP) and the CCHP system with energy storage (CCHP-ESS) under insufficient solar power. Subsequently, two optimal arrangements for energy consumption on the user side under these systems are suggested. In the optimization model, energy storage is added to the T-CCHP system on the energy supply side. On the user side, the energy use scheme is optimized considering the user's comfort. The high expansion of a variable and intermittent nature of distributed generation, such as photovoltaics (PV), can cause technical issues in existing distribution networks (DN). In addition to producing electrical energy, PVs are inverter-based sources, and can help conventional control mechanisms in mitigating technical issues. This paper proposes a multi-stage optimal power flow (OPF)-based mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) model for improving an operation state in LV PV-rich DN. A conventional control mechanism such as on load tap changer (OLTC) is used in the first stage to mitigate overvoltage caused by PVs. The second stage is related to reducing losses in DN using reactive power capabilities from PVs, which defines the optimization problem as a fully centralized observed from the distribution system operator's (DSO) point of view. The optimization problem is realized under the co-simulation approach in which the power system analyzer and computational intelligence (CI) optimization method interact through an interface. This approach allows keeping the original MINLP model without approximations and using any computational intelligence method. OpenDSS is used as a power system analyzer, while particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used as a CI optimization method in this paper. Detailed case studies are performed and analyzed over a single-day period. To study validation and feasibility, the proposed model is evaluated on the IEEE LV European distribution feeder. The obtained results suggest that a combination of conventional control mechanisms (OLTC) and inverter-based sources (PVs) represent a promising solution for DSO and can serve as an alternative control method in active distribution networks. As the finite nature of non-renewable energy resources is realised and climate change concerns become more prevalent, the need to shift to more sustainable forms of energy such as the adoption of renewable energy has seen an increase. More specifically, wind energy conversion systems (WECS) have become increasingly important as a contribution to grid frequency support, to maintain power at the nominal frequency and mitigate power failures or supply shortages against demand. Therefore, limiting deviations in frequency is imperative and, thus, the control methods of WECS are called to be investigated. The systematic literature review methodology was used and aimed at investigating these control methods used by WECS, more specifically variable-speed wind turbines (VSWT), in supporting grid frequency as well as the limitations of such methods. The paper identifies these to be de-loading, energy storage systems and emulated inertial response. Further classification of these is presented regarding these control methods, which are supported by literature within period of 2015–2022. The literature indicated a persistent interest in this field; however, a few limitations of VSWTS were identified. The emulated inertial response, specifically using a droop control-based frequency support scheme, was the primary means of providing frequency support. This systematic literature review may be limited by the number of papers selected for the study. Results and conclusions will not only be useful for WECS development but also in assisting with the security of the transmission grid's frequency stability. This paper demonstrates an enhancement of power quality for a photovoltaic (PV) system connected to the grid with a hybrid energy storage system (HESS). The proposed system utilizes a ramp-rate control (RRC) strategy to limit severe fluctuations in the PV power output. Battery storage is integrated to store surplus energy generated by the PV system and is used for continuous power application. A high-power density device, known as a supercapacitor (SC), is employed to mitigate transient fluctuations in the battery. The proposed system facilitates smooth PV power generation, stabilizes the DC bus voltage (VDC), and eliminates source current harmonics induced by non-linear loads. The Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) discussed in this paper serves two primary purposes. Firstly, it acts as a reactive power buffer, smoothing out fluctuations and reducing current harmonic distortions. Secondly, it enables active power injection into the grid, utilizing a specific renewable solar PV source. The efficiency of the modeled compensation system is demonstrated by the sinusoidal shape of the current and the compensation of reactive power (RPC). The targeted system showcases the effectiveness of the current setup by exhibiting low total harmonic distortion (THD). The multifunctional features of the proposed system were implemented using the MATLAB/Simulink software, and the results were validated using an OP5700 Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test bench. Photovoltaic inverters are widely utilized in microgrid systems working as the key equipment for converting solar energy into usable electricity. This paper presents a fuzzy sliding mode control (FSMC) method for the photovoltaic inverter in a microgrid. The inverter module uses voltage control to achieve stable AC output voltage. Moreover, to deal with system uncertainty and non-linearity in the photovoltaic inverter, a fuzzy controller was designed to realize real-time adaptation of the gains of the constant term and the reaching term in the sliding mode control law, which serves as a compensating controller for traditional sliding mode control. The gains of the exponential reaching law can be adjusted according to the system state instead of fixed gains, which can effectively reduce the chattering phenomenon and improve the robustness of the photovoltaic microgrid. Finally, the Lyapunov stability theory was used to ensure the stability of the entire control system, achieving a high-performance independent power supply for loads in a microgrid. Dual active bridge (DAB) converters are widely used in DC microgrids because of their superior bidirectional energy flow regulation capability and characteristics, such as wide voltage gain and zero-voltage switching (ZVS). However, due to the inherent contradiction between the minimum backflow power and the ZVS of the power switches, the existing modulation methods are difficult to optimize and coordinate. Most of the studies increase the complexity of energy flow regulation in the optimization process. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a collaborative modulation method of dual-side backflow power optimization and ZVS for DAB. The method constructs a dual-side backflow power optimization modulation strategy that is simple to control and uniform in all working conditions by analyzing the mathematical model of backflow power. Meanwhile, based on this optimized modulation strategy, a regulatory factor of phase-shift ratio is introduced to collaborate with the ZVS of the power switches, which reduces the backflow power while ensuring the ZVS of the primary and secondary sides. With the increasing use of renewable energy sources and decentralized power systems, certain challenges have emerged in meeting consumers' electrical energy demands. The intermittent nature of renewable energy generation means that it cannot always align with consumers' needs, resulting in periods of excess energy production when it is not required. To bridge this gap between production and consumption, energy storage systems are necessary. This paper defines the work of an isolated microgrid, which consists of renewable sources (wind and PV) for energy production, households with electric vehicles as consumers, and a combined storage system. This storage system is made from batteries, hydrogen storage, and a control system that defines the best use of the storage. Stored energy is utilized through fuel cells to generate electricity for consumption when renewable sources cannot meet the demand. This paper presents the principles of electrolysis and models of individual elements within such a system, as well as the definition and principle of control of the system functionality based on rules and conditions. The proposed control system aims to increase the energy storage lifecycle by deciding when and how to utilize which type of storage and define a self-sufficient microgrid based on renewable sources of production. An economic analysis of the storage part of the system was carried out in which the levelized cost of energy stored and the NPC of the storage systems are calculated. A simulation of the system's operation is conducted using one-hour measurements of wind turbines, solar panels, and household consumption in Serbia. How to effectively utilize renewable energy and improve the economic efficiency of microgrid system and its ability to consume renewable energy has become one of the main problems facing China at present. In response to this challenge, this paper establishes a multiobjective capacity optimization model with the minimum levelized cost of energy, the maximum proportion of renewable energy consumption, and the minimum comprehensive system cost. Based on this model, a new improved beluga whale optimization algorithm is proposed to solve the multiobjective optimization problem in the capacity allocation process of wind–solar–storage microgrid system with the goal of ensuring that the microgrid can meet the maximum load demand at different moments throughout the year. In this paper, opposition‐based learning, artificial bee colony, dynamic opposite, and beluga whale optimization are combined to improve the population diversity and convergence accuracy, thereby enhancing the optimization performance of the algorithm. Finally, after finding the optimal Pareto front solution, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution is used to help decision‐makers select the optimal solution. Using real load data and meteorological data, the results of this paper show that the multiobjective capacity allocation optimization method of grid‐connected scenic storage microgrid system based on the improved beluga whale optimization algorithm can improve the economics of the wind–solar–storage microgrid system and promote the photovoltaic consumption simultaneously, providing a solution for the realization of low‐carbon power and regional economic development. This paper presents a machine learning (ML)-based approach for the intelligent control of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) utilized in solar panel cleaning systems, aiming to mitigate challenges arising from uncertainties, disturbances, and dynamic environments. Solar panels, predominantly situated in dedicated lands for solar energy production (e.g., agricultural solar farms), are susceptible to dust and debris accumulation, leading to diminished energy absorption. Instead of labor-intensive manual cleaning, robotic cleaners offer a viable solution. AVs equipped to transport and precisely position these cleaning robots are indispensable for the efficient navigation among solar panel arrays. However, environmental obstacles (e.g., rough terrain), variations in solar panel installation (e.g., height disparities, different angles), and uncertainties (e.g., AV and environmental modeling) may degrade the performance of traditional controllers. In this study, a biologically inspired method based on Brain Emotional Learning (BEL) is developed to tackle the aforementioned challenges. The developed controller is implemented numerically using MATLAB-SIMULINK. The paper concludes with a comparative analysis of the AVs' performance using both PID and developed controllers across various scenarios, highlighting the efficacy and advantages of the intelligent control approach for AVs deployed in solar panel cleaning systems within agricultural solar farms. Energy exchange between AC grid and DC supply that is a part of a hybrid electric micro-grid takes place using various power converter designs. The single-phase, single-stage, AC-DC power dual active bridge converter is one option. The phase-shift modulation is used to regulate energy flow in both directions. The topology of one stage AC-DC dual active bridge converter based in bidirectional switching modules has been introduced. This paper next introduces the analysis of the AC side current considering basic modulation functions and suggests an optimum phase-shifted modulation strategy. The proposed modulation function provides minimum harmonics distortion. A simulation study is presented to compare the proposed strategy to the basic sinusoidal and triangular modulation techniques. The results show that the modified modulation reduces the average THD by about 55% and 39% compared to the standard sinusoidal and triangular modulation strategies respectively and ensures linear relationship between the transferred power and magnitude control coefficient. Green storage plays a key role in modern logistics and is committed to minimizing the environmental impact. To promote the transformation of traditional storage to green storage, research on the capacity allocation of wind-solar-storage microgrids for green storage is proposed. Firstly, this paper proposes a microgrid capacity configuration model, and secondly takes the shortest payback period as the objective function, and uses the improved sparrow search algorithm (ISSA) for optimization. Firstly, the Logistic-Tent compound chaotic mapping method is added to the population initialization of the sparrow search algorithm (SSA). Secondly, the adaptive t-distribution mutation is used to improve the discoverer, and the overall optimization ability of the algorithm is improved. Finally, the hybrid decreasing strategy is adopted in the process of vigilance position update. The ISSA can improve the search efficiency of the algorithm, avoid premature convergence and enhance the robustness of the algorithm, which is helpful to better apply to the optimal configuration of wind-solar-storage microgrid capacity in green storage. The elimination of traditional thermal generators and the increase of renewable energy source access reduced the inertia of the power system, and thermostatically controlled loads have the potential to provide ancillary services to the power system. This paper introduces a decentralized control strategy for thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs), which focuses on assisting large-scale TCLs in providing frequency support to power systems while considering energy efficiency ratio and measurement error correction. Initially, the nonlinear relationship between heat flow and TCLs' power is modeled using a polynomial relationship, and the coefficients are determined through a data-driven method to enhance accuracy in TCLs modeling and assess their regulation potential precisely. Subsequently, a decentralized control strategy tailored for power system frequency regulation is developed. To account for measurement errors in TCLs controllers, a measurement error back-correction method is proposed. Simulation examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy in achieving accurate modeling and control of TCLs and reducing power system frequency fluctuations. Here Multi-Input SEPIC converter offers both versatility in handling output voltage ranges and efficiency in power flow, even under challenging operating conditions like lower duty cycle values. These features contribute to the converter's effectiveness in managing power within a DC microgrid. In this configuration, the DC sources can supply energy to the load together or separately, depending on how the power switches operate. The detailed working states with equivalent circuit diagrams and theoretical waveforms, under steady-state conditions, are shown along with the current direction equations. This paper also demonstrates the typical analysis of large-signal, small-signal, steady-state modeling techniques and detailed design equations. The proposed configuration is validated through the conceptual examination using theoretical and comprehensive MATLAB simulation results. Detailed performance analysis has been done for different cases with various duty ratios. This paper studies the stability of a real-world wind farm, Bison Wind Generation System (BWGS) in the state of North Dakota in the United States. BWGS uses an AC collector grid rated at 34.5 kV and a symmetrical bipolar high-voltage DC (HVDC) transmission grid rated at ±250 kV. The HVDC line transfers a total power of 0.5 GW, while both the HVDC rectifier and inverter substations use line-commuted converters (LCCs). The LCC-based rectifier adopts constant DC current control to regulate HVDC current, while the inverter operates in constant extinction angle control mode to maintain a fixed HVDC voltage. This paper proposes a frequency scan-based approach to obtain the d–q impedance model of (i) BWGS AC collector grids with Type 4 wind turbines that use permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs) and two fully rated converters, and (ii) an LCC-HVDC system. The impedance frequency response of the BWGS is acquired by exciting the AC collector grid and LCC-HVDC with multi-sine voltage perturbations during its steady-state operation. The resulting voltage and current signals are subjected to a fast Fourier transform (FFT) to extract frequency components. By analyzing the impedance frequency response measurement of BWGS, a linear time–invariant (LTI) representation of its dynamics is obtained using the vector fitting (VF) technique. Finally, a Bode plot is applied, considering the impedance of the BWGS and grid to perform stability analyses. This study examines the influence of the short circuit ratio (SCR) of the grid and the phase lock loop (PLL) frequency bandwidth on the stability of the overall system. The findings provide valuable insights for the design and verification of an AC collector and LCC-based HVDC transmission systems. The findings suggest that the extraction of the impedance model of a real-world wind farm, achieved through frequency scanning and subsequent representation as an LTI system using VF, is regarded as a robust, suitable, and accurate methodology for investigating the dynamics, unstable operating conditions, and control interaction of the wind farm and LCC-HVDC system with the AC grid. In this paper, the notion of a cohesive and self-sufficient grid is proposed. Based on a cohesive and self-sufficient virtual microgrid, an active distribution network is optimally planned, and an optimal configuration of demand-side resources, distributed generations, and energy storage systems are generated. To cope with stochastic uncertainty from forecast error in wind speed and load, flexibility reserves are needed. In this paper, the supply relation between flexibility and uncertainty is quantified and integrated in an innovative index which is defined as cohesion. The optimization objectives are a minimized operational cost and system net-ability cohesion as well as self-sufficiency, which is defined as the abilities both to supply local load and to deal with potential uncertainty. After testing the optimal configuration in the PG&E 69 bus system, it is found that with a more cohesive VM partition, the self-sufficiency of VMs is also increased. Also, a case study on uncertainty-caused system imbalance is carried out to show how flexibility resources are utilized in real-time operational balance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
