Background: CD4+ T cells play a central role in control of L. donovani infection, through IFN-γ production required for activation of macrophages and killing of intracellular parasites. Impaired control of parasites can in part be explained by hampered CD4+ T cells effector functions in visceral leishmaniasis (VL) patients. In a recent studies that defined transcriptional signatures for CD4+ T cells from active VL patients, we found that expression of the IL-7 receptor alpha chain (IL-7Rα; CD127) was downregulated, compared to CD4+ T cells from endemic controls (ECs). Since IL-7 signaling is critical for the survival and homeostatic maintenance of CD4+ T cells, we investigated this signaling pathway in VL patients, relative to ECs. Methods: CD4+ T cells were enriched from peripheral blood collected from VL patients and EC subjects and expression of IL7 and IL7RA mRNA was measured by real time qPCR. IL-7 signaling potential and surface expression of CD127 and CD132 on CD4+ T cell was analyzed by multicolor flow cytometry. Plasma levels of soluble IL-7 and sIL-7Rα were measured by ELISA. Result: Transcriptional profiling data sets generated previously from our group showed lower IL7RA mRNA expression in VL CD4+ T cells as compared to EC. A significant reduction was, however not seen when assessing IL7RA mRNA by RT-qPCR. Yet, the levels of soluble IL-7Rα (sIL-7Rα) were reduced in plasma of VL patients compared to ECs. Furthermore, the levels of soluble IL-7 were higher in plasma from VL patients compared to ECs. Interestingly, expression of the IL-7Rα protein was higher on VL patient CD4+ T cells as compared to EC, with activated CD38+ CD4+ T cells showing higher surface expression of IL-7Rα compared to CD38- CD4+ T cells in VL patients. CD4+ T cells from VL patients had higher signaling potential baseline and after stimulation with recombinant human IL-7 (rhIL-7) compared to EC, as measured by phosphorylation of STAT5 (pSTAT5). Interestingly, it was the CD38 negative cells that had the highest level of pSTAT5 in VL patient CD4+ T cells after IL-7 stimulation. Thus, despite unaltered or potentially lowered IL7RA mRNA expression by CD4+ T cells from VL patients, the surface expression of the IL-7Rα was higher compared to EC and increased pSTAT5 was seen following exposure to rhIL-7. Accordingly, IL-7 signaling appears to be functional and even enhanced in VL CD4+ T cells and cannot explain the impaired effector function of VL CD4+ T cells. The enhanced plasma IL-7 may serve as part of homeostatic feedback mechanism regulating IL7RA expression in CD4+ T cells. While altered, the findings presented here do not attributed the impaired effector function of VL CD4+ T cells to defective IL-7 signaling. The peculiar illumination and insolation conditions at the poles of the Moon lead to the formation of Permanently Shadowed Regions (PSR) that act as cold traps for volatiles and are important for In Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU). However, since these regions lie in shadows of surrounding topographic highs, the ability of optical remote sensing in imaging these regions for photo reconnaissance is limited and using other modes of remote sensing becomes imperative. In this work, reflectance from optical data, backscatter from active microwave data and temperature from thermal data from the surfaces of three craters – de Gerlache, Haworth and Shoemaker – on the South Pole of the Moon, in close proximity to the Artemis III candidate landing sites, has been studied. Images from Clementine UVVIS, LRO WAC and LRO NAC have been compared with fully polarimetric data from the L-bands sensor of Chandrayaan-2 DFSAR. Further, the temperatures at the surface of the craters have been studied using data from LRO DIVINER. Since large parts of the craters under study lie in permanent shadows, Clementine UVVIS and LRO WAC could image only some parts of the rims. LRO NAC, with its longer exposure times, could image some parts within the crater however the walls of the crater and the floor near the walls remained in shadow. DFSAR was found to be useful in viewing the permanently shadowed regions of the craters. Overall, the backscatter in HH and VV (co-pol) channels was higher than the backscatter in HV and VH (cross-pol) channels. The elevated rims of the craters were clearly visible in co-pol channels and the rough texture of the ejecta of the craters had a distinct high backscatter in cross-pol channels. This fully polarimetric data can be used to map the interiors of the craters where optical data has low albedo. Analysis of the thermal data revealed that within the craters, in the regions that were in perpetual shadows, the maximum summer temperatures were less than 150 K making these regions cold traps for volatiles and possible locations of surface water–ice. The parts of craters lying in the shadows of surrounding higher features had lower maximum temperatures in summer and the parts facing them had higher maximum temperatures due to reflected insolation. Imaging spectrometry is a powerful tool among remote sensing techniques to analyze the chemical compositions and physical properties of the lunar regolith. Recalibration of the classical method byLucey and co-workers with Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) data provides an opportunity to understand the FeO, TiO 2, and optical maturity distributions over the lunar nearside on a global scale. We estimated the chemical compositionsand optical maturity from the M3 spectral reflectance around the 1 µm region. The standard chemical compositions of the lunar landing sites were estimated based on origin optimization and data fitting. We obtained an optimized origin of (0.08, 1.18) for FeO and (0.07, 0.71) for TiO 2. The Spectrophotometric evaluations of Catharina and Cyrillus craters, located in the lunar nearside are categorized under the matured category. The estimation results reveal that the FeO wt % of the Catharina crater varies from 0.0002 to 19.62, and that of the Cyrillus crater varies from 0.0001 to 12.32. TiO 2 wt% of Catharina crater varies from 0.01 to 86.12, while Cyrillus Crater varies from 0.01 to 4.34. The optical maturity (OMAT) of the Catharina crater varies from 0.0001 to 0.19 to that of the Cyrillus Crater Varies from 0.01 to 0.17. The overall summary of the results points out that lunar regolith is a fabulous repository of FeO and TiO 2 and quantitatively this metal abundance may be more than the anticipated values. This review article provides an overview of various aspects of lunar exploration, including missions to the Moon, collection and analysis of lunar sample data in laboratories, and the processing and analysis of remote sensing data, particularly using radar techniques. Both remote sensing and in-situ methods are critical for advancing our understanding of the lunar surface and its properties. This review article focuses on the identification and quantification of water–ice deposits located in areas such as Permanently shadowed areas (PSRs) and the lunar poles (section " Lunar Poles and PSRs: A Special Environment "). These volatile resources have the potential to serve as valuable sources of fuel for future missions, making it crucial for the lunar community to determine their abundance and distribution. After thoroughly examining lunar samples using high-precision laboratory techniques, many preconceptions were dispelled which is highlighted in the section " Laboratory Investigation of Lunar samples ". But as in-situ observations are difficult to acquire, especially terrestrial bodies samples, remote sensing techniques allow the global understanding of the surface. The article specifically highlights the importance of understanding the electrical characteristics of the lunar surface and how radar inversion can provide valuable information in this regard. The " Conclusion " section of this review article serves as a key takeaway for readers, underscoring the critical role that both in-situ and remote sensing techniques play in advancing our understanding of the Moon. This paper analyses the effects of a non-uniform laminar flow past a circular cylinder using the direct numerical simulation approach. Compared to the cylinder immersed in a uniform flow case, modifications caused by the non-uniform approaching flow on the evolution of the flow and sound fields are studied in detail in the present work. The prescribed non-uniform velocity profile at the inlet has a Gaussian distribution and imitates a jet or a wake flow velocity profile. The sound is generated due to periodic vortex shedding behind the circular cylinder. The frequency of vortex shedding and the strength of the shed vortices depend on the inflow velocity profile. Hence, variation of the inflow velocity profile alters the shed vortices, changing the generated sound field. It is observed that the amount of gain or deficit present in the prescribed inflow velocity profile compared to the uniform inflow profile alters the sound field information. The jet kind of inflow profile creates a sound of higher frequency and intensity in contrast to the wake kind of inflow profile. The presence of shear in the inflow velocity profile is also expected to change the sound propagation direction. However, in present simulations, the distance over which sound propagation is considered is small compared to the wavelength of the sound waves, and sound beam drift effects are not observed much. In this paper, we derive the necessary conditions for time-energy optimal control of input-affine nonlinear systems using Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation. The objective function is chosen as a weighted combination of control effort and time-horizon minimisation. The necessary conditions of optimality are transformed such that the resultant conditions are structurally similar to a differential matrix Riccati equation. A closed-form approximate solution to these necessary conditions is derived such that the resulting closed-loop dynamics is locally exponentially stable around the origin. Furthermore, it is also shown that the states converge within a ball of an arbitrarily small radius around the origin within a finite time. Finally, the performance of the proposed controller is tested using numerical simulations for Vander Pol's oscillator as well as spacecraft detumbling problem. The bis(azolium) salt [L1‐H2]Br2 was found to serve as a suitable platform for accessing the heterobimetallic IrIII‐M (M=PdII/AuI) and PdII‐IrIII complexes. Initially, selective mono‐metalation of [L1‐H2]Br2 yielded an orthometalated IrIII‐ or non‐orthometalated PdII‐complex. Sequential metalation of the mono‐IrIII complex resulted in the formation of heterobimetallic IrIII‐PdII/AuI complexes. Similarly, a distinct heterobimetallic PdII‐IrIII complex was synthesized starting from the mono‐PdII complex. Further, the corresponding homobimetallic IrIII‐IrIII and PdII‐PdII complexes were directly obtained from [L1‐H2]Br2. Additionally, monometallic PdII and IrIII analogues were synthesized from [L2‐H]Br and [L3‐H]Br, respectively. The heterobimetallic IrIII‐PdII and PdII‐IrIII complexes were then evaluated as catalysts in various one‐pot tandem catalytic reactions in which they demonstrated superior activity than the mixtures of both their corresponding homobimetallic IrIII‐IrIII/PdII‐PdII and monometallic IrIII/PdII counterparts, under the constant concentrations of metal centers. Moreover, while comparing complexes IrIII‐PdII and PdII‐IrIII, the former exhibits higher activity in all the studied reactions. All these findings suggest the presence of some form of cooperativity between the two metal centers (Ir and Pd) connected by a single ligand framework in IrIII‐PdII and PdII‐IrIII complex, with IrIII‐PdII displaying better cooperativity that has been validated by electrochemical, NMR, and DFT studies. Effective access to azolium salts with varying stereoelectronic properties has always fascinated the organometallic chemists. Herein, we described a Ru(II)‐catalyzed one‐step access to diverse meta‐alkylated N‐aryl (benz)imidazolium salts (>40 examples) via σ‐bond activation strategy starting from the readily available azolium salts using alkyl bromide. Notably, the present method is compatible with a wide range of azolium salts and secondary/tertiary alkyl bromides, including the biologically relevant motifs. Various control experiments along with the DFT calculation established the reaction pathway of orthometalated Ru(II)‐NHC complex (6) formation followed by the generation of a Ru(III)‐intermediate, which controls the observed meta‐selectivity, via single electron transfer. The polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data sets have been widely exploited for land use land cover (LULC) classification due to their sensitivity to the structural and dielectric properties of the imaging target. In this study, the potential of fully polarimetric L‐ and S‐band Airborne SAR (LS‐ASAR) data sets were explored for the machine‐learning‐based classification of Urban, Vegetation, Waterbody, and Open Ground. This work was done by utilizing dual‐frequency L‐ and S‐band airborne data of Santa Barbara, California, USA, acquired under the Airborne SAR (LS ASAR) campaign, a precursor airborne mission to the space‐borne NASA‐ISRO (NISAR) mission. The LS‐ASAR polarimetric information was utilized for LULC classification using the SVM classifier. The roll‐invariant Barnes, and eigenvalue/eigenvector‐based Cloude and H/A/Alpha decomposition were implemented to retrieve the scattering parameters. The backscatter response of classes was studied, and separability analysis was done to reduce the misclassification error between six class pairs‐ Vegetation—Urban, Vegetation—Waterbody, Vegetation—Open Ground, Urban—Waterbody, Urban—Open Ground, and Water—Open Ground. The decomposition models failed to achieve the desirable separability index for all six class pairs; consequently, the classification of Barnes, Cloude, H/A/Alpha decomposition showed misclassification between vegetation‐urban class, and waterbody‐open ground class for both L‐ and S‐band data sets. The effort was made toward improving the classification accuracy by integrating the roll‐invariant and eigenvalue‐eigenvector scattering parameters of the multifrequency L‐ and S‐band data set. This method presented the desirable separability index for all class‐pair; eventually highest classification accuracy was achieved i.e. 93.35% (kc ${k}_{c}$ = 0.91) by significantly reducing the misclassification error between class pairs. The present study was designed to find a suitable microaerobic condition and ratio of glucose and xylose for maximum ethanol production using co-culture of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia stipitis. The maximum ethanol concentration and yield were achieved at 0.05 vvm aeration rate and 2:1 glucose/xylose ratio. The co-culture resulted in maximum ethanol concentration, ethanol yield, and volumetric productivity of 12.33 ± 0.10 g/L, 0.43 g/g, and 0.26 g/L/h, respectively. While, the monoculture of P. stipitis resulted in 8.96 ± 0.13 g/L, 0.36 g/g, and 0.19 g/L/h respectively. The fermentation carried out in microaerobic mode delivered 10.68% and 10.56% more ethanol concentration and ethanol yield respectively from glucose compared to the combination of anaerobic and microaerobic mode. Also, the glucose uptake rate increased to 0.83 g/L/h, which corresponds to an improvement of 50.16%, suggesting that the lower microaerophilic condition not only supports P. stipitis metabolism but also does S. cerevisiae to convert glucose faster in a co-culture system. Analysis of protein thermostability is vital in protein science to aid the understanding of evolutionary aspects of organic life as well as in protein engineering for modern day industrial applications. In the present study, supervised machine learning (ML) algorithms are employed to unravel potential patterns behind protein thermostability. This computational analysis conclusively shows inverse gamma turns, VIII turns, and the propensity of cysteine (Cys) to be the most important biophysical–biochemical attributes responsible for protein thermostability. From the propensity analysis of amino acids, polar residues, specifically glutamine (Gln) and serine (Ser), and charged residues, specifically glutamic acid (Glu) and lysine (Lys), are found to favor the enhancement of protein thermostability. To confirm the presence of water on the moon, many scientists of the world are making continuous efforts through remote sensing data of different missions. In this direction, the Dual Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR) sensor of the Chandrayaan-2 mission adds a very important chapter which is the world's first Planetary SAR mission of fully polarimetric capability with L- and S-band. This study utilizes the L-band fully polarimetric DFSAR data of Chandrayaan-2 mission for the PolSAR parameters-based analysis and ice detection in permanently shadowed regions (PSRs) of the lunar South Polar craters. The PSR IDs SP_875930_3125710, SP_837670_3387710, and SP_874930_3578760 of the lunar South Pole were selected for the polarimetric analysis using DFSAR L-band. Based on previous studies ((Li et al., 2018), two out of three PSR Ids (SP_875930_3125710 and SP_874930_3578760) were easy to identify for surface ice. That is why only two PSR IDs were used for polarimetric SAR analysis of DFSAR data for surface ice characterization and detection. The hybrid polarimetric simulation was also performed to the fully polarimetric L-band data to study stokes vectors and associated child parameters for the selected study area. The analysis of polarimetric distortions confirms the persistence of the polarimetric quality of the SAR data and for this, the polarimetric distortion analysis was performed with co-pol and cross-pol channels. Wave dichotomy-based Huynen decomposition and Barnes decomposition models were implemented to the fully polarimetric quad-pol DFSAR data. The eigenvalue-eigenvector-based decomposition model was also implemented to characterize the scattering behavior of the PSRs. A high correlation was obtained between Circular Polarization Ratio (CPR), entropy, and alpha for the 200 hundred points randomly collected from the image. Diversity index also showed a high positive correlation with CPR. The polarimetric quality of the data was evaluated with the scatterplot between the cross-polarimetric channels and it was observed that the L-band quad-pol data of DFSAR satisfies the criteria for PolSAR data of a monostatic SAR system. Analysis of the results obtained from the polarimetric SAR data indicated that the high volumetric scattering and CPR for the PSR ID SP_875930_3125710 may be due to ice clusters within the permanently shadowed region. Polarimetric analysis of the PSR (SP_874930_3578760) at Howarth Crater using L-band DFSAR data shows a low amount of volumetric scattering and a low CPR for most locations in the PSR. The different ranges of CPR and volume scattering for both craters indicate that polarimetric parameters and indices should be studied in conjunction with geomorphological parameters of the lunar surface, for unambiguous identification of surface ice clusters in the PSR. Due to the intelligent, adaptive nature of various operations and their ability to provide maximum comfort to the occupants residing in them, smart buildings are becoming a pioneering area of research. Since these architectures leverage the Internet of Things (IoT), there is a need for monitoring different operations (occupancy, humidity etc.) to provide sustainable comfort to the occupants. This work proposes a novel approach for intelligent building operations monitoring using rule-based complex event processing (CEP) and query-based approaches for dynamically monitoring the operations. Siddhi is a CEP engine designed for handling multiple sources of events data in real time and processing it according to predefined rules using a decision tree. Since datastream is dynamic in nature, to keep track of different operations, we have converted the IoT data into an RDF (Resource Description Framework) dataset. The RDF dataset is ingested to Apache Kafka for streaming and for stored data we have used GraphDB tool that extracts information with the help of SPARQL query. Additionally, a large number of events are passed through CEP for correlating and analyzing events in real time, and we measure the performance of CEP engines through SPARQL for enhancing decision support. The proposed approach is evaluated by deploying rules to events through the CEP engine and assessing their processing efficiency in terms of time. Subsequently, a risk estimation scenario is proposed to generate alerts for end users if any smart building operations need immediate attention. In the field of forestry studies, microwave remote sensing has broad applications due to the penetration into the semi-transparent media. This feature is used for the estimation of biophysical parameters and monitoring of deforestation. Therefore, the estimation of biophysical parameters is essential for assessing carbon stock management. Hence, the aboveground biomass (AGB) using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data is recognized as typical approaches in forest application. However, the integrated use of polarimetric (PolSAR) and interferometric (PolInSAR) data might be more efficient tools for AGB mapping. Accordingly, in this study with the integrated data, the efficiency of machine learning techniques including random forest regression (RFR) and multiple linear regression (MLR) model were assessed and compared for the prediction of AGB. The analyses were performed using an image pair of fully polarimetric Radarsat-2 C-band data set and the related field data of Malhan Forest Range, Dehradun Forest Division, which were collected using the systematic sampling technique. Particularly, the training and testing of the models were done using the field sample plots. The experimental results showed that the RFR algorithm provided a better prediction result of AGB than the MLR model. The correlation coefficient (R2) and root-mean-square error (RMSE) for the RFR algorithm was estimated to be around 0.65 and 24.33 Mg/ha, respectively, while for the MLR model, R2 and RMSE are estimated as 0.54 and 33.05 Mg/ha, respectively. Therefore, it was concluded that the prediction of AGB through the machine learning technique using PolSAR and PolInSAR data has a significant advantage for accurate estimation of the AGB. Scattering identification ambiguity has significant effects in the polarimetric SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) decomposition and can be reduced by discriminating the permanent and time-varying features using PolInSAR (Polarimetric SAR Interferometry) coherence. PolInSAR based polarimetric decomposition using cosine-squared distribution (PCSD decomposition) is an algorithm that demonstrates the incorporation of PolInSAR coherence in the decomposition model by assuming the distribution of forest structure and vegetation as cosine-squared. This study presents a multifrequency analysis of PCSD decomposition to evaluate its potential to rightly represent the scatterer by reducing the identification ambiguity. The false-color composites (FCC) of PCSD decomposed images are presented to examine the results. A comparison study is also conducted between the PCSD decomposition and the Yamaguchi-4 component (Y4C) decomposition to demonstrate the improvement in the representation of the ground targets. This paper analyzes the effects of a periodic suction-blowing excitation on the aerodynamic sound generated by a laminar flow past a square cylinder using the direct numerical simulation approach. The periodic suction-blowing excitation has been prescribed on the top and bottom surfaces of the square cylinder. The proper orthogonal mode decomposition (POD) technique has been used to find information about important modes associated with disturbance pressure fields. The POD technique separated the contribution of the dominant lift dipole equivalent sources and the drag dipole equivalent sources to the disturbance pressure field for the no-excitation case. The POD technique also revealed that the periodic suction-blowing excitation introduced an additional monopole equivalent sound source and a drag dipole equivalent sound source due to periodic enhancement and reduction of the body's effective cross-sectional area. Modifications in the sound field due to changes in excitation amplitude, forcing frequency, and the phase delay between the excitation and vortex shedding process have been studied in detail. Although no significant changes in the flow field were noticed due to a small amplitude of excitation, the directivity of the sound field was significantly altered. The sound fields have been classified into five distinct zones for different periodic suction-blowing excitation frequencies. The beats of sounds were noted when the forcing frequency of excitation and the Strouhal frequency associated with vortex shedding were sufficiently close. It is observed that the in-phase excitation in which either blowing or suction is applied on both surfaces of a cylinder at a particular instant introduces a significant bias in the sound field directivity. The interaction between the lift dipole equivalent sources due to vortex shedding and the monopole and the drag dipole equivalent sources due to excitation introduces a bias in the sound field directivity. The polarimetric distortions present in the polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) data sets leads to unexpected results from the polarimetric decomposition and classification models, which in turn result in the ground target misinterpretation. The most important polarimetric distortions in airborne PolSAR data sets are the channel imbalance and crosstalk. The minimization of these polarimetric distortions using polarimetric calibration techniques is very important to carry out the quantitative analysis using PolSAR data and time series analysis and to compare results between different sensors. In the current state of the art, the spatial variability of the polarimetric distortions at different slant‐range positions in the data set was not completely analyzed and also the temporal variability of the polarimetric distortions using multiple data sets needs to be more investigated. Therefore, the main objectives of this study were to develop an operational processor to perform the external polarimetric calibration of the L‐band Uninhibited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar system and to analyze the spatio‐temporal behavior of the polarimetric distortions. The polarimetric distortion matrix (PDM) was formulated after considering the crosstalk and channel imbalance polarimetric distortions to derive the scattering matrix free from all kinds of polarimetric distortions from the observed scattering matrix. The Quegan, improved Quegan, and Ainsworth methods for polarimetric calibration were implemented to solve the PDM. The residual channel imbalance and crosstalk after polarimetric calibration were estimated to compare the calibration efficiency of these methods. After that, a spatio‐temporal analysis was carried out with several data sets to assess the spatio‐temporal behavior of these polarimetric distortions. The polarimetric signatures and the coherency matrix behavior of the trihedral corner reflectors were used to analyze the ground target characterization improvement after polarimetric calibration. The results obtained from this study revealed that the crosstalk is the major cause for the polarimetric distortions and the channel imbalance and phase bias present in the data sets were not high. From the spatio‐temporal analysis, it was found that the variability of these polarimetric distortions both in spatial and temporal domains was minimum and can be discarded without causing any considerable error in the polarimetric calibration process. The Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) systems use electromagnetic radiations of different polarizations in the microwave frequency to collect the scattering information from targets on the Earth. Nevertheless, as with any other electronic device, the PolSAR systems are also not ideal and subjected to distortions. The most important of these distortions are the polarimetric distortions caused due to the channel imbalance, phase bias, and crosstalk between the different polarization channels. For the spaceborne PolSAR systems, the Earth's ionosphere also contributes to an additional polarimetric distortion known as the Faraday rotation. An effort was made in this study to perform the polarimetric calibration of the Quad-pol and Compact-pol PolSAR datasets acquired using different airborne and spaceborne PolSAR systems to estimate and minimize these polarimetric distortions. The investigation was also done to analyze the impact of these polarimetric distortions on the scattering mechanisms from ground targets and on its dependency on the radar wavelength. The study was done using the UAVSAR L-band Quad-pol dataset, RADARSAT-2 Quad-pol dataset, ALOS-2 PALSAR-2, ISRO's L&S- Band Airborne SAR (LS-ASAR) Quad-pol and Compact-pol datasets, and the RISAT-1 Compact-pol dataset. Calibration of the airborne PolSAR data was carried to understand the level of polarimetric distortions in the LS-ASAR product that is a precursor mission to the spaceborne Dual-Frequency L&S Band NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission. It is understood that the crosstalk is the dominant polarimetric distortion, which severely affects the PolSAR datasets compared to the other polarimetric distortions, and it is more for the higher wavelength PolSAR systems. The Quegan, Improved Quegan, and Ainsworth algorithms for crosstalk estimation and minimization was performed for the different Quad-pol datasets and it was found that the Improved Quegan algorithm is suitable for removing crosstalk from datasets having high crosstalk and the Ainsworth algorithm is suitable for removing crosstalk from datasets having low crosstalk. The Freeman method of the polarimetric calibration was implemented for the compact-pol datasets and it was able to considerably minimize the polarimetric distortions. The coherency matrix, scattering matrix, model-based decomposition, polarimetric signatures, and roll invariant parameter-based analysis revealed that all the datasets after polarimetric calibration were showing the correct scattering responses expected from the ground targets. This paper addresses the maintenance of a halo orbit around the L1 point of the Sun-Earth system in a circular restricted three-body problem. To this effect, a trajectory tracking problem is formulated and solved by designing various controllers using the linear quadratic method and Lyapunov stability theory. The linear quadratic formulations are performed using two approaches: the first one linearizes the equations of motion at several operating points, while the second approach uses a state-dependent coefficient system matrix that requires solving the state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE). To handle the nonlinearity and to reduce the computational complexity as compared to the linear quadratic method, the controller is also derived using Lyapunov stability theory. The proposed controllers are tested for their effectiveness in reducing the orbit insertion errors as well as for disturbance rejection. The disturbances being considered are primarily due to the eccentricity of Earth's orbit around the Sun, solar radiation pressure, and the gravitational pull of the Moon. The simulation results are presented to delineate the performances of the proposed controllers. The superiority of a Lyapunov theory-based controller over the LQR-based controllers is demonstrated. This article proposes a guidance strategy that enables the interceptor to control its impact time against stationary targets, while also meeting the field-of-view (FOV) constraints of the on-board seeker. The guidance strategy, so designed, always keeps the target within its FOV using its seeker. A barrier Lyapunov function is used to meet the FOV constraints, and an approximate expression for the interceptor's lead angle is obtained analytically. This facilitates the computation, as well as control, of impact time. The proposed guidance consists of two stages, with the former stage being deviated pursuit, while during the latter stage, the deviation angle or lead angle decreases to zero. This, in turn, ensures a zero terminal lateral acceleration. Furthermore, through a cooperative selection of tuning parameters, simultaneous interception of the target by multiple interceptors (also called salvo) can be achieved. In this article, a nonlinear three-dimensional guidance strategy for multiple identical constant speed interceptors is proposed to capture a stationary target simultaneously. To design this proposed guidance strategy, a proportional navigation based time-to-go estimate, without any small angle assumption, is used. Based on the maximum value of time-to-go estimates of all interceptors, the range error for each interceptors is computed. Sufficiency conditions for simultaneous capture are satisfied by ensuring the range errors and their rates converge to zero for all interceptors. The proposed guidance strategy employs Lyapunov and sliding-mode control-based techniques to achieve these sufficiency conditions. The versatile application of different functional groups such as alcohols (1° and 2°), alkyl arenes, and (aryl)olefins to construct carbon‐oxygen bond via oxidation is an area of intense research. Here, we report a reusable heterogeneous V2O5@TiO2 catalyzed selective oxidation of various functionalities utilizing different mild and eco‐compatible oxidants under greener reaction conditions. The method was successfully applied for the alcohol oxidation, oxidative scission of styrenes, and benzylic C−H oxidation to their corresponding aldehydes and ketones. This study was aimed at exploring whether latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) contributes to the pathogenesis of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases in a TB endemic setting. We screened 198 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with tuberculin skin test (TST) and studied 61 (median DAS28-ESR = 6.3) who were positive. Whole blood T cell proliferative responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) membrane (MtM) antigens, including the latency-induced protein alpha crystallin (Acr), were determined by flow cytometry using Ki67 expression as the marker for nuclear proliferation. Serum antibody levels were determined by ELISA. Follow-up investigations (at 3–6, 9–12 and 15–18 months after baseline) were performed in 41 patients who were classified empirically as 'high' (HR-T/HR-B) or 'low' (LR-T/LR-B) responders based on their dynamic T cell or antibody responses. Significant correlations were seen between baseline T cell responses to MtM and Acr, and between IgG, IgA and IgM antibody responses to MtM. However, no correlation was seen between T and B cell responses. At all time points during the follow-up, T cell responses to both antigens (except for MtM at one point) were significantly higher in HR-T (n = 25) than LR-T (n = 16) patients. Levels of IgA and IgM (but not IgG) antibodies to MtM were also significantly higher in HR-B (n = 13) than LR-B (n = 28) at all time points. Importantly, HR-T patients exhibited significantly higher baseline and follow-up DAS28 scores than LR-T. Ten (of 61) patients had a history of TB and developed RA 6 years (median) after contracting TB. Three new TB cases (1 from TST-positive and 2 from TST-negative groups) emerged during the follow-up. This article discusses the synthesis and catalytic activity of heterobimetallic complexes bridged by an unsymmetrical bis(NHC) ligand. The complexes, IrIII−M (M=PdII/AuI), were found to exhibit enhanced catalytic activity in one-pot tandem catalytic reactions compared to homobimetallic and monometallic catalysts. The improved activity was attributed to better communication and cooperativity between the two different metal centers, as supported by NMR, electrochemical, and theoretical studies. The work reported in this paper describes the design and simulation of a novel current mirror readout circuit based MOSFET integrated cantilever structure for micro-gram (μ g) mass sensing applications. The proposed mass sensing structure consist of silicon cantilever as the micromechanical structure, MOSFET as strain sensing element and current mirror as a readout circuit. In this paper, studies have been carried out on three structures (a) n-channel MOSFET based resistive loaded current mirror integrated cantilever mass sensor (b) p-channel MOSFET based resistive loaded current mirror integrated cantilever mass sensor and (c) n- and p- channel MOSFETs based dual current mirror integrated cantilever mass sensor. The input MOSFET(s) of the current mirror acts as the reference transistor(s) while the output MOSFET(s) of the mirror circuit acts as strain sensing element(s) to measure the cantilever deflection under externally applied load. The structural and the electrical characteristics of the sensors were simulated using COMSOL Multiphysics and TSPICE software respectively. Simulation results showed a sensitivity of 21.89 μ V/ μ g, 1 μ V/ μ g and 115.57 μ V/ μ g for nMOS, pMOS and dual channel cantilever mass sensor. The fabrication steps and mask layout of the proposed sensor have also been presented in this paper. To develop effective adaptation strategies for climate change, particularly in regions where water is scarce, it is crucial to comprehend and quantify how hydrological responses are influenced by anthropogenic activities and climate change. The primary concern nowadays is to identify the hydrologic sensitive and resilient catchment under these diverse conditions. Thus, a framework is developed in this study to analyse the hydrologic sensitivity and resiliency of a catchment incorporating the elasticity-based Budyko approach. The developed framework is applied to three neighbouring catchments (Brahmani, Baitarani, and Subarnarekha) in eastern India that have received less attention in light of resiliency and sensitivity perspectives. The Budyko approach is first applied using hydro-climatic records of historical phase (1979–2018) and then extended for future phase (2025–2064) under four different Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) (1-2.6, 2-4.5, 3-7.0 and 5-8.5) of Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) projections which will provide new insights to the hydrological community. The results highlight that streamflow variations of the Subarnarekha is more sensitive to anthropogenic activities in all time phases. In contrast, the Brahmani and Baitarani are more sensitive to climate change in future phases. During historical phase, the Brahmani and Baitarani are identified to be resilient catchments with high water yield and dry climate, whereas the Subarnarekha is found to be sensitive catchment, exhibiting low water yield and dry climate. However, in future phase, all three catchments are predicted to be resilient, characterized by high water yield and wet climate. The major inference from this study is excess anthropogenic activities can disrupt the anticipated hydrological functioning of a catchment, particularly under critical climatic conditions, which can result in decreasing hydrological resiliency. The finding of this study mainly highlights the response of a hydrological system to climate change and anthropogenic activities to explore the approach of sensitivity and resiliency from a socio-hydrological perspective. Identification and extraction of material in the urban scenario are always challenging due to the presence of different heterogeneous materials. Airborne hyperspectral sensors with the advantage of both high spectral and spatial resolution can be used in such areas for the identification and mapping of urban materials. Manual extraction of the endmembers in highly dense heterogeneous urban regions is a very difficult task to achieve, but with automated extraction techniques, it yields promising results. To counter the mixed pixels problem in heterogeneous urban areas automated endmember extraction techniques like Endmember Average RMS (EAR), Minimum Average Spectral Angle (MASA), and Count Based Endmember Selection (CoB) was used for pure endmember identification in the densely populated urban area of Kolkata region using AVIRIS NG imagery. Spectral Unmixing Multiple Endmember Spectral Mixture Analysis (MESMA), Linear Spectral Unmixing (LSU), and Mixture Tuned Matched Filtering (MTMF) was performed on AVIRIS NG data using the extracted endmembers of different urban materials. The rule-based classification was performed on abundance images obtained from MESMA, MTMF, and LSU techniques for comparative analysis. Classification using MESMA abundance images outperformed in mapping mixed urban environments with an overall accuracy (OA) of 88.6 % followed by the rule-based classified output of MTMF and LSU with OA of 75.27% and 72.45% respectively. The potential of single date fully Polarimetric RADARSAT‐2 data in retrieving crop biophysical parameters using Machine Learning techniques was investigated. Various polarimetric parameters along with coherent and incoherent decomposition techniques were assessed for its sensitivity toward crop parameters like Wet and Dry Biomass, Crop Height, Leaf Area Index and Vegetation Water Content. A set of 39 polarimetric observables extracted from the Quad‐Pol data were used for regression analysis. In this study two Machine Learning techniques Random Forest Regression (RFR) and Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) models were assessed for the prediction of Wet Biomass (gm−2) and Height (cm). The most significant (6 out of 39) variables were applied for prediction. The results revealed that RFR algorithm performed better than MLR. The coefficient of determination (R2) and root‐mean‐square‐error of estimating wet biomass and height were 0.646, 655.65 (gm−2) and 0.71, 14.5 (cm) respectively in RFR and 0.566, 683.86 (gm−2) and 0.65, 16.14 (cm) respectively in MLR. Thus this study explored the effective application of quad‐pol data for assessing sensitivity and accurate retrieval of parameters using optimum PolSAR observables. Our closest neighbor (Moon) is full of wonders and potentials that can help us learn more about the solar system and provide a habitat for space colonies. The lunar surface contains several potential volatiles implanted by the solar wind that can be used for In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU). Also by characterizing the lunar surface we can comprehend many solar system phenomenon. Radar has been proven to be very effective in characterizing and understanding the physical properties of the lunar surface. The success of Chandrayaan-2 (CH-2) in 2019 opened numerous doors to better understanding the lunar surface. The Dual Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR), is the first L-band SAR ever used for lunar mapping. We approximated the dielectric values for the Permanently Shadowed Regions (PSRs) by combining the Integral Equation Model (IEM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The two-dimensional Gaussian model proved to be more accurate when correlated with in-situ measurements made by the Apollo 17 mission out of four different configurations, but the validation process has its limitations, thus we analyzed the result from all the models. The real part of complex dielectric values of unknown craters near Malapert crater (PSRs SP 83260 0090770 and SP 841420 0059530) and Faustini crater (PSR SP 871460 0840750) were high in certain sections of the region and moderate in others. The high dielectric values of 11.2 and 10.9 were estimated by the two-dimensional Gaussian and Exponential model for the right-side walls of the PSRs SP 83260 0090770 and SP 841420 0059530, respectively. For three-dimensional Gaussian and Exponential models, the same region but with fewer pixels showed high dielectric values of approximately. However, the estimated dielectric value for the left side wall was around 3.4 for two-dimensional models and 2.3 for three-dimensional models. On the left side of the region, the PSR SP 871460 0840750 had high dielectric values of 10.6 and 10.2, as calculated by the two-dimensional Gaussian and Exponential models and approximately 13 for the three-dimensional models. The right side of the region showed approximately 3.6 dielectric values for two-dimensional models and 4 for three-dimensional models. We noticed that some pixel values showed ambiguous dielectric values (<1) during the retrieval and validation process, notably in three-dimensional models, which could be linked to incidence angle variability and model sensitivity. This indicates the model's limitation and is treated as outliers, which we rectified by optimizing the threshold. This study outlines a method for identifying high-quality recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) obtained after mechanical treatment. In the present approach, the physical and mechanical properties of RCA are considered as quality parameters. As a first step, mechanically treated (Los Angeles) RCA is produced with 28 combinations of charges and drum revolutions. Twenty-eight sets of mechanically treated RCA are produced, each with different physical and mechanical properties. Furthermore, the 28 sets of RCAs are compared using the performance-based quality optimization approach. The performance index for each set of RCAs is calculated applying a multicriteria decision-making approach named "technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution." This approach considers physical and mechanical properties as a response and the combination of charges and drum revolutions as alternatives to obtain the performance index of alternatives. Based on its performance, the leading rankings RCAs are selected for an experimental study to validate the methodology. As a result of RCA's optimized quality, recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) has excellent physical, mechanical, and durability characteristics that agree with natural aggregate concrete (NAC) composed of parent aggregate. The 28- and 91-day compressive strengths of RAC exceed those of NAC by 8.5% and 30.65%, respectively. Flexural strength, split tensile strength, fracture energy, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) values, rapid chloride-ion penetration test values, water absorption, and abrasion resistance are comparable with NAC. The quality optimization approach identifies RCA with superior shape, texture, and elastic properties. An RCA with optimized qualities also strengthens the new interfacial transition zone and old interfacial transition zone as well as RAC's associated properties. The RAC's dynamic modulus of elasticity is superior to the reported values and is 0.95 fractions of NAC. Optimized quality of RCA reduces the sorptivity of RAC compared with the reported values. The RAC may not have equivalent sorptivity to NAC without lowering RCA parts, whether mortar-attached, mortar-covered, or mortar-only type aggregate or applying other treatments that may increase the production cost. This research presents a standard procedure for identifying mechanically treated recycled concrete aggregate with properties (physical properties and mechanical properties) similar to those of the parent aggregate (natural aggregate). The method demonstrated in this study may be adapted to real-life worksite conditions—but not exactly. In Los Angeles abrasion machines, recycled concrete aggregates obtained from a source can be processed by varying drum revolutions and charges. Based on the charges and drum revolutions selected for treatment, treated recycled concrete aggregate can be prepared with different sets of physical and mechanical properties. Based on the present research, the physical and mechanical properties of treated recycled concrete aggregate can be compared between these sets. In this way, recycled concrete aggregates can be produced that resemble their parent aggregates. The Galapagos Archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, situated 1000 km from the Ecuadorian coast, has been considered one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Its geographical location, ongoing seismo_volcanic activities, and the island's extreme isolation have led to the development of a wide variety of unique plant and animal species, which inspired Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. La cumbre volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the Galapagos archipelago and is situated closest to the mantle plume. Eruptions are frequent here, with a record of 30 eruptions since 1800. Recently La Cumbre volcano erupted on 2020 January 12, with 11 seismic tremors recorded on that day with a maximum magnitude of 4.7. The Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) is an advanced Differential Interferometric SAR technique used to generate the deformation time series from the sequence of SAR datasets with a reduced spatiotemporal decorrelation. It is one of the best approaches for monitoring and analyzing surface deformations from space with a millimeter level of accuracy. In this paper, we analyze the January 2020 eruption of the La cumbre volcano using the SBAS technique. 9 Sentinel-1C band SAR data granules from 2019 November 17 to 2020 February 21 were used to generate the deformation time series map for estimating the degree of deformation at the volcanic edifice. In this paper, we propose Lyapunov theory-based nonlinear guidance scheme to achieve an angle-constrained interception of a high-speed target (targets with speed advantage). An impact angle based classification between head-on and head-pursuit interception geometries is first proposed to uniquely match a desired impact angle to a corresponding desired line-of-sight (LOS) angle for successful target interception. The proposed guidance scheme comprises two phases, namely orientation and LOS tracking phases. The orientation phase corrects the interceptor's lead angle based on the desired interception geometry whenever required. The LOS tracking phase then enables the tracking of desired LOS angle by enforcing the error is LOS angle to converge onto a manifold with finite-time convergent properties. The applicability of the proposed guidance strategy is validated using numerical simulations for various engagement geometries, in the presence of autopilot, for constant speed as well as time-varying speed interceptors. Unlike leader-follower cooperative guidance techniques, the swarm of interceptors has no leader and each interceptor executes its own guidance command in a distributive fashion, thus obviating the residency of the mission over a single interceptor. We first design cooperative guidance commands subject to target's mobility, followed by the same when the target is stationary, and also account for interceptors' changing topologies. We further show through rigorous analysis that the proposed cooperative guidance laws guarantee consensus in the interceptors' time-to-go values within a predefined-time. The proposed design allows a feasible time of consensus in time-to-go to be set arbitrarily at will during the design regardless of the interceptors' initial time-to-go values, thereby ensuring a simultaneous target interception. This paper addresses the problem of controlling impact time against various types of target – stationary, constant velocity, or maneuvering. Analytical expression of time-to-go, that is exact for non-maneuvering target but approximate for maneuvering ones, is first presented based on true-proportional-navigation guidance concepts. Guidance strategies are then derived, using Lyapunov theory, to meet impact time constraints, without linearizing the engagement dynamics. Hence, the proposed strategies remain effective even for large initial heading errors. Further, a cooperative guidance strategy to achieve simultaneous target interception by multiple interceptors is also proposed. Guidance commands that ensure consensus among the time-to-go values of the interceptors are utilized for this purpose. Using judicious choices of gains, the common time of target interception may be either pre-fixed, or the same may be decided cooperatively during the engagement. Stability analysis of the possible equilibria in heading angle dynamics, for different choices of parameters, is also performed. This work proposes two different cooperative integrated guidance and control schemes for a group of interceptors, each steered by combined effects of canard and tail aerodynamic surfaces, aiming a simultaneous interception of a non-maneuvering target. The first approach is based on a leader-follower framework, in which the time of interception can be prescribed before homing, while the second approach is of a leaderless framework, in which the time of interception is decided during engagement. The proposed integrated guidance and control design for multi-body engagement is carried out under nonlinear settings, with time-to-go formulations that relax the restrictive assumption of interceptors' small heading angles. This facilitates wide applicability of the proposed design in scenarios necessitating large terminal time requirements. In addition to the nonlinearity in kinematics of engagement and interceptors' dynamics, effect of actuators are also considered, making the design suitable for practical implementation. Since canard and tail aerodynamic surfaces have different capabilities, a weighted effort allocation scheme is devised to apportion the total effort in both control surfaces in a suitable manner. Studies of the lunar surface from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data have played a prominent role in the exploration of the lunar surface in recent times. This study uses data from SAR sensors from three Moon missions: Chandrayaan-1 Mini-SAR, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) Mini-RF and Chandrayaan-2 Dual Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR). DFSAR sensor is the first of its kind to operate at L-band and S-band in fully and hybrid polarimetric modes. Due to the availability of only L-band data out of the two bands (L-and S-band) for the study site, this study only used DFSAR's L-band data. The dielectric characterization and polarimetric analysis of the lunar north polar crater Hermite-A was performed in this study using Chandrayaan-1 Mini-SAR, LRO Mini-RF and Chandrayaan-2 DFSAR data. Hermite-A lies in the Permanently Shadowed Region (PSR) of the lunar north pole and whose PSR ID is NP_879520_3076780. Because of its location within the PSR of the lunar north pole, the Hermite-A makes an ideal candidate for a probable location of water-ice deposits. This work utilizes S-band hybrid polarimetric data of Mini-SAR and Mini-RF and L-band fully polarimetric data of DFSAR for the lunar north polar crater Hermite-A. This study characterizes the scattering mechanisms from three decomposition techniques of Hybrid Polarimetry namely m-delta, m-chi, and m-alpha decompositions, and for fully polarimetric data Barnes decomposition technique was applied which is based on wave dichotomy. Eigenvector and Eigenvalue-based decomposition model (H-A-Alpha decomposition) was also applied to characterize the scattering behavior of the crater. This study utilizes the hybrid-pol and fully polarimetric data-based Integral Equation Model (IEM) to retrieve the values of dielectric constant for Hermite-A crater. The dielectric constant values for the Hermite-A crater from Chandrayaan-1 Mini-SAR and LRO Mini-RF are similar, which goes further in establishing the presence of water-ice in the region. The values of the dielectric constant for Chandrayaan-2 in some regions of the crater especially on the left side of the crater is also around 3 but overall the range is relatively higher than the compact/hybrid polarimetric data. The dielectric characterization and polarimetric analysis of the Hermite-A indicatively illustrate that the crater may have surface ice clusters in its walls and on some areas of the crater floor, which can be explored in the future from the synergistic use of remote sensing data and in-situ experiments to confirm the presence of the surface ice clusters. We evaluate the penetration depth of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) signals into the ground surface at different frequencies. We applied dielectric models (Dobson empirical, Hallikainen, and Dobson semi-empirical) on the ground surface composed of different soil types (sandy, loamy, and clayey). These models result in different penetration depths for the same set of sensors and soil properties. The Dobson semi-empirical model is more sensitive to the soil properties, followed by the Hallikainen and Dobson empirical models. We used the Dobson semi-empirical model to study the penetration depth of the upcoming NASA-ISRO synthetic aperture radar (NISAR) mission operated at the L-band (1.25 GHz) and the S-band (3.22 GHz) into the ground. We observed that depending upon the soil types, the penetration depth of the SAR signals ranges between 0 to 10 cm for the S-band and 0 to 25 cm for the L-band. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, a nonlinear suboptimal three-dimensional guidance strategy based on a finite-time state-dependent Riccati equation technique is proposed to achieve interception of a non-maneuvering target at a desired impact time. To design the proposed guidance, range error for a spatial engagement between an interceptor and non-maneuvering target is introduced as the difference between the desired range-to-go and range-to-go of the predicted interception point. It is shown that forcing the range error and its rate to the origin are sufficient to achieve impact time constrained interception. Several existing impact time guidance strategies require a time-to-go estimate, to implement their guidance command, which may become erroneous in the presence of measurement noise and affect their performance. However, the proposed guidance does not require any such time-to-go estimate in its design process. Furthermore, guidance for the case of planar engagements is shown to be a special case of the proposed guidance scheme. Finally, numerical simulation studies for multiple engagement geometries, along with a comparison study with an existing strategy, are provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed technique. The problem is addressed considering nonlinear engagement kinematics and the interceptor is steered using the combined effects of canard as well as tail configurations (dual-controlled interceptors). Different formulations of time-to-go, without the restrictive assumption of interceptor's small heading angle, have been used in deriving the guidance commands, allowing the proposed strategy to remain effective over a wide range of impact time values. A weighted effort allocation scheme, in canard and tail deflections, has been proposed to generate the required lateral acceleration. The overall design uses sliding mode control owing to its simplicity of design, while a nonlinear finite-time disturbance observer is used to estimate the target's maneuver. This paper deals with nonsingular guidance and control design for an interceptor, using a decoupled approach, steered by the combined effects of both canard and tail, to intercept a moving but non-maneuvering target at a time specified a priori. First, interceptor's desired lateral acceleration, consisting of nominal and corrective components, is derived using deviated pursuit guidance. While the nominal component is the pursuit guidance law, the corrective component drives the time-to-go error to zero within a finite-time in an optimal manner. Using a desired error dynamics and a meaningful performance index, the lateral acceleration demand is minimized during the transient phase. With exact knowledge of time-to-go and the consideration of nonlinear kinematic model, the proposed design circumvents the errors arising out of any approximations. Interceptor's canard and tail deflection commands are derived using predefined-time convergent sliding mode control, which allows the autopilot to precisely track the commanded lateral acceleration within a time specified during design. This paper addresses the problem of maximizing the warhead effectiveness, by achieving impact at the structurally vulnerable points of the targets. The impact direction is first defined using target frame, and then a unique relation between the desired impact angles and the desired line-of-sight angles is derived. Using this relation, two nonlinear guidance strategies, based on finite-time sliding mode and optimal control methods, are proposed to achieve interception of maneuvering targets at a pre-specified desired impact orientation. Unlike most of the existing three-dimensional guidance strategies, the proposed guidance strategies are derived without decoupling nonlinear coupled engagement kinematics into two mutually orthogonal planes and performing linearization, thereby avoiding possible performance deterioration for engagement with large heading errors. The performances of proposed guidance strategies are evaluated for various engagement geometries as well as constant speed and different realistic time-varying speed pursuer models subjected to aerodynamics parameter variations, and found to be satisfactory. This paper presents a novel nonlinear guidance law for an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that enables it to track any predefined path while taking into account wind effects. The approach involves treating the desired path as the trajectory of the virtual target, which the UAV tracks without relying on knowledge of the path's curvature. This makes the design applicable to paths with varying levels of complexity and smooth curvatures. Additionally, the proposed method draws inspiration from pursuit guidance, known for its simplicity and ease of implementation. Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) has been associated with several diseases including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's and multiple sclerosis. ApoE also has documented immunomodulatory functions. We investigated gene expression in circulating monocytes and in bone marrows of patients with visceral leishmaniasis (VL) living in an endemic area in Bihar, India, and contrasted these with control healthy subjects or other diagnostic bone marrows from individuals in the same region. Samples from VL patients were obtained prior to initiating treatment. Our study revealed significant upregulated expression of the apoE transcript in patients with VL. Furthermore, the levels of ApoE protein were elevated in serum samples of subjects with VL compared with healthy endemic controls. Simple Summary: The natural astaxanthin from algae (marketed only 5%) is the most powerful antioxidant for health compared to the synthetic that shares about 95% of the market. Therefore, there is a huge demand for natural astaxanthin from algae, which can accumulate significantly higher astaxanthin. We have isolated a new algal strain from the Himalayan region, Northern India, which was identified as Dysmorphococcus globosus-HI based on morphological and molecular analysis. Its growth conditions were optimized in the laboratory. Among the seven different tested culture media, MBBM and 3N-BBM provided the maximum growth and astaxanthin production. The highest biomass production (1.14 g L−1) was observed in the modified BBM medium. It is an excellent source of producing natural astaxanthin, to a tune of 391 mg L−1, which is greater than any other known algal species. The productivity of astaxanthin was about 15.6 mg L−1 d−1 under normal conditions, which is higher than the commercially used H. pluvialis species. It is the first report of natural astaxanthin production from D. globosus-HI that has great potential for commercial application. Synthesized astaxanthin (ASX), stereoisomers of 3S,3′R, 3R,3′R, and 3S,3′S, have over 95% market share and have relatively poor antioxidant and bioactivity properties, with persistent issues in terms of biological functions, health benefits, and biosafety if compared to natural ASX. Bioprospecting of new microalgal strains could be vital for a new source of powerful antioxidant (ASX). In this study, a new algal strain was isolated from the Indian foothills of the Himalayas. Its identity was discerned by morphological and DNA barcode studies. It is a unicellular spheroidal cell-shaped alga with 100–200 μm diameter. The isolate has 93.4% similarity to Dysmorphococcus globosus species based on 18S-rDNA phylogenetic analysis and named as D. globosus-HI (HI stands for Himalayan India). Its growth and major cellular components (carotenoids, carbohydrates, protein, lipids, fatty acid profile, and ASX) were optimized using the seven different culture media. The highest biomass (1.14 g L−1) was observed in the MBBM medium, with a specific growth rate (0.087 day−1), division/day (0.125), and cellular yield (6.16 x 106 cells/mL). The highest carotenoids (1.56 mg g−1), lipids (32.5 mg L−1), and carbohydrates (135.62 mg L−1) were recorded in the 3N-BBM medium. The maximum ω3-FAs (17.78%), ω6-FAs (23.11%), and ω9-FAs (7.06%) were observed in MBBM, JW, and BG-11 medium respectively. The highest amount of antioxidant ASX was accumulated in the 3N-BBM medium (391 mg L−1). It is more than any other known algal species used in the production of natural ASX. This paper proposes a polynomial-based three-dimensional (3D) impact angle-constrained guidance law considering the seeker's field-of-view (FOV) bound. The guidance laws are derived using nonlinear coupled dynamics of the interceptor-target engagement against stationary as well as constant velocity targets. Line-of-sight (LOS) orientations between the interceptor and the target in both pitch and yaw planes are shaped as two cubic polynomial functions of relative range. An explicit expression for the look angle of the interceptor is acquired in terms of the LOS polynomials. This expression facilitates the embodiment of the FOV constraint in the boundary conditions inflicted on the polynomials. A system of equations with the eight unknown coefficients is obtained by employing the appropriate launch and terminal conditions of the interceptor-target engagement. Reference LOS angle and lead angle profiles are generated using the calculated coefficients, complying to which the interceptor achieves a zero miss distance with desired impact angle and FOV constraints. A tracking controller is then designed using a nonlinear control technique that enables the interceptor to follow reference lead angle profiles in mutually orthogonal planes. Unlike the already existing guidance strategies for 3D impact angle and FOV-constrained target interception, the proposed nonlinear guidance strategy is designed without the use of linearization or decoupling. Moreover, no switching logic or multi-phase guidance structures are employed in the proposed guidance strategy, which eliminates possible jumps in the guidance command.
