17. A Domain Generalization Method Based on Hybrid Meta-Learning for Face Anti-Spoofing

Abstract

For face anti-spoofing, many methods have been proposed to improve the security of face recognition systems. Due to distribution discrepancies among different domains, it is difficult to seek a generalized space which can generalize well to unseen attacks. In this paper, we propose a framework based on meta-learning method to improve the generalization ability of face anti-spoofing. The feature extractor is trained with forcing the distribution of real faces more compact while the distribution of fake faces is more dispersed among domains. Then we add a hybrid-domain meta learner module to simulate multiple domain shift scenarios. Moreover, we add a refined triplet mining to constrain the distance between real faces and fake ones. Multiple gradient information is integrated to optimize the feature extractor and train the model with good generalization performance to unseen attacks of various scenarios. Extensive experiments on four public datasets show that our proposed method can get better generalization ability to unseen target domain compared with state-of-the-art methods. &nbsp

23. Impact of CnRx Structure on Soft Error Rates of Flip-Flop Designs at 22-nm FD SOI Node

Abstract

Embedded Silicon Germanium (eSiGe) is used in the channel region of PFET devices at the 22-nm FD SOI node. The use of eSiGe results in channel regions becoming strained, which results in better hole mobility and increased performance. However, if the active diffusion regions are too short on each side of a PFET gate, then the effect of channel strain is reduced, and performance is reduced. The Continuous Active Diffusion (CnRx) layout construct suggested by the foundry is a way to help keep channel strain present within a single-cell design. In this article, the CnRx construct is implemented in a 22-nm FD SOI test chip and soft error rates (SER) of stacked-transistor flip-flops (FFs) are shown to increase with heavy ion irradiation. The effect of channel strain on PFETs results in higher collected charges from ion strikes, and charges are more easily passed between adjacent transistors through strained channels. However, with careful schematic and layout design, these effects can be mitigated to produce both high-performance and radiation-tolerant cells using the CnRx construct.

34. Efficient and environmentally friendly uric acid voltametric sensor based on Ni-MOF and Carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes nanocomposites

Abstract

Uric acid (UA) levels are significant in the monitoring of human health, making their detection very important. In this paper, a simple and innovative electrochemical method for the detecting UA was established, using a sensing platform based on hybrid electrodes of Nickel-Metal Organic Framework (Ni-MOF) and carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH). Detailed investigations into the electrocatalytic activity of Ni-MOF/MWCNTs-COOH/GCE for The Ni-MOF/MWCNTs-COOH exhibited remarkable catalytic activity for UA oxidation. The detection limit was 0.005μM, with a sensitivity calculation result of 6.377µAµM-1, and a wide linearity interval (0.03 - 10μM, 10 - 300μM). Utilizing its high sensitivity and selectivity, this sensor was used for the measurement of UA in biological fluids, including human serum and urine samples, recovery amounts being 96.6 - 100.8%, and 98.9 - 101.3%. This work is highly significant; offering new perspectives for the application of Ni-MOF based chemical sensors in the realms of environmental monitoring and healthcare.

35. Facile electrochemical determination of sertraline at nanomolar concentration using bimetallic MXene NbTiCTxand MWCNTs hybridized electrodes as sensing platform

Abstract

A novel and facile electrochemical determination of Sertraline at nanomolar concentration using bimetallic MXene NbTiCTxand MWCNTs hybridized electrodes as sensing platforms is demonstrated. NbTiCTx/MWCNTs composites were produced by etching NbTiAlC to obtain NbTiCTx, and ultrasonically mixing this with MWCNTs. An electrochemical sensor based on NbTiCTx/MWCNTs nanocomposite modified (NbTiCTx/MWCNTs/GCE) was constructed, for use in the sensitive detection of Sertraline (SER). The successful preparation of NbTiCTx/MWCNTs and the electrochemical performance of the electrodes were verified by Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance characterization methods. The experimental results show that NbTiCTx/MWCNTs/GCE can increase the SER oxidation peak current, with two good linear relationships (R2 = 0.9910 and 0.9967) between the current and the concentration of SER (5.0–10.0 μM and 10.0–100.0 μM), with a detection limit of 0.16 μM (S/N = 3). The sensor has good selectivity, repeatability, reproducibility and stability, and enables the sensitive determination of SER in human serum and urine samples of clinical biological fluids. It is believed that this work is significant and is of broad interest for work in innovative material development and biomedical applications.

36. eCASH concept-based care for patients with small-area burns: a pilot randomized controlled trial.

Abstract

Background: Small-area burn is a common but specific type of injury that can still lead to serious complications if not managed properly. Researchers have introduced a number of interventions., Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the effects of eCASH concept-based care (ie, eBCare) with those of standard treatment on wound healing in patients with small-area burns., Methods: In this prospective randomized controlled trial, patients with small-area burns received either eBCare (n = 35) or standard burn treatment (n = 35) for 2 weeks. Pain, anxiety, heart rate, exudate, and wound area were measured during and after dressing changes. Scar color and thickness were assessed 4 years or longer after discharge., Results: The eBCare group had a lower median pain score, anxiety score, and heart rate compared with the control group (P < .001). The eBCare group also had a higher median wound healing rate on day 14 than the control group (P < .05). At follow-up 4 years or more after discharge, the eBCare group had better scar color and thickness than the control group (P < .05)., Conclusion: The use of eBCare reduced pain and anxiety, accelerated wound healing, and improved scar outcomes in patients with small-area burns, which suggests that eBCare may be a feasible option for this population.
