With the development of globalization, transnational higher education is gradually becoming an essential means for many countries to achieve internationalization. Nowadays, Sino-foreign cooperative universities and programmeshave been turned into an important form of internationalization of Chinese higher education, increasingly attracting the attention among policy-makers and academic researchers. This paper focuses on student satisfaction with Sino-foreign cooperative universities by both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Based on the case study, the development trend of Sino-foreign cooperative universities is discussed. Therefore, this paper is of far-reaching significance in improving the student satisfaction of Sino-foreign cooperative universities and promoting the internationalization of other ordinary public universities in China. Through the mixed empirical methods and case study approach, this paper found that the student evaluation of Sino-foreign cooperative universities shows the characteristics of "integration" that effectively absorbs the maternal resources and characteristics of both Chinese and foreign parties, and also realizes self-management and education innovation. As we all know, the random forest algorithm has the advantages of high classification intensity and wide application range. Nevertheless, it still has a lot of room for improvement. This paper introduces the basic idea and working principle of classification algorithm and random forest algorithm, so this paper proposes some improved algorithms on the basis of all current research studies. College students, as the most innovative and adaptable group, have gradually become a development direction of China's education reform to cultivate their innovative employment ability and develop innovative employment education. By constructing a model of the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship education and college students' employability, this paper examines the impact of innovation and entrepreneurship education mode on college students' employment and entrepreneurship. At the same time, the model is tested by improving the random forest algorithm. The process of talent quality evaluation is to select talents with the best comprehensive quality based on various indicators of students' performance in school, which can be regarded as a classification problem of unbalanced data sets. The improved random forest algorithm proposed in this paper has little difference in precision and recall rate when it is used for talent training evaluation but has a certain degree of improvement in accuracy rate, which meets the design requirements. China has undergone unprecedented changes since the Reform and Opening-up policy in 1978. Policy experimentation (PE) has been key in generating and catalysing reforms in the process. This study proposes a conceptual framework to describe the different pathways of PE-enabled reforms. Comparing two empirically informed case studies, this study demonstrates the functions of this policy tool plays within China's higher education policy-making and development: generative, rhetorical and regulatory. The paper argues that PE can be a genuinely productive mechanism for producing, identifying and negotiating new policy options while allowing the government to supervise and regulate institutional reform behaviours. However, under certain conditions, it assumes more of a symbolic role allowing the government to acquire or consolidate reform legitimacy without engaging substantial innovation. By highlighting those key roles of PE, this paper provides a distinctive perspective for understanding the policy-making and reform process in China's higher education development. The outbreak of COVID-19 has triggered a worldwide upsurge in online education. This paper first reviews the actions implemented by Tsinghua University in response to COVID-19 as an example. Based on the experience, the paper further discusses how to turn the 'forced innovation' happened in the pandemic into an 'anti-pandemic dividend' that could expedite the transformation of higher education, through institutionalizing and normalizing the actions taken under the outbreak. In view of the fact that the research method of innovative talent education model is too single, this paper studies the education model of industry-university-research (IUR) cooperation in training application-oriented innovative talents from the two aspects of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Firstly, this paper analyses the education status of IUR cooperation in training application-oriented innovative talents. Then, based on the previous studies, it conducts qualitative analysis on the education model of IUR cooperation to cultivate applied innovative talents. Finally, it proposes a quantitative analysis method for the application-oriented innovative talent education model based on IUR cooperation. The quantitative analysis method proposed in this paper is applied to the research of application-oriented innovative talent education model for the first time, which has made a useful attempt to introduce quantitative analysis in this field. The research results, from qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, show the evaluation method of the education model for application-oriented innovative talent based on IUR cooperation, which provides a theoretical reference for the development of innovative talent education in various fields, and also has important practical significance for promoting the transformation of talent training ideas in higher education. Purpose – Over the past few decades China's higher education has gone through dramatic growth and multiple rounds of reforms accompanied by a remarkable amount of financial investment, all aiming at developing world-class universities to grow innovative talents. Yet the outcomes so far have been disappointing. This paper aims to investigate this issue.Design/methodology/approach – By reviewing and analyzing selected educational reforms in higher education in China, this article discusses the reasons of the gap between the massive input for innovation in higher education in China and abysmal results. This paper also reports and analyzes a case that challenges central control and the gaokao system.Findings – Central control and the gaokao, the infamous college entrance exam, are the bedrocks of China's higher education and also the culprit for China's failure to cultivate innovative talents. Unless they are fundamentally changed it is unlikely that China will have the higher education system it dreams of having.Originality/value – This article provides an overview of China's efforts to cultivate innovative talents by strategically investing in building world-class higher education institutions (HEIs) and analyzes the reasons behind the apparent gap between its massive input and the abysmal results achieved. Purpose – This paper aims to review policy innovations in China for addressing the graduate unemployment crisis that has been created by the expansion of higher education in the past decade.Design/methodology/approach – The authors draw on government documents, research findings, and mass media reports to highlight the key measures of the Chinese government to alleviate the over-education problem and to improve college graduates' employment prospects.Findings – The review describes government efforts both at the institutional level to enhance student employability and at the national level to create alternative employment channels. The Chinese experiences show that the challenges posed by the graduate employment crisis may turn out to be a new opportunity to reform higher education in order to better address the needs unique to a country's own society.Social implications – The review of the Chinese case will inspire policy makers in other countries to seek alternative routes for the development of their own higher education.Originality/value – This is the first study of its kind to address the recent policy innovations and their implications for potential reform. With the further development of the reform of higher education system in China, the role and status of innovation and entrepreneurship education are becoming more and more prominent. In the future, the society urgently needs talented people with innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities. In order to better meet the social needs of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and to promote in-depth innovation and entrepreneurship education in schools, Guangdong University of Technology has established a base for innovation and entrepreneurship training and incubation. In this paper, the base construction ideas, base function construction and safeguard measures are discussed. After years of exploration and practice, the school was named seven national-level honorable titles such as the first hatch of national deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education model universities, national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience universities, state-level public space and so on. This paper describes a study of ICT-related teacher development in the context of a national reform of College English teaching in China. The reform, in which emphasis was placed on use of information and communications technology (ICT) in classroom teaching and self-access learning, had challenged teachers of English as a foreign language to adapt to new teaching materials, student-centred classroom teaching and to guide students in their autonomous learning. The study examined teachers' attitudes towards ICT use in education and ICT-related continuing professional development (CPD) policies and practices in a university in southern China. Mixed methods were used: questionnaires to teachers, classroom observation, interviews with teachers, management and administrative staff, and focus groups with both teachers and students. The findings indicated that limited ICT skills and pedagogic expertise were obstacles to the use of ICT in English language teaching. Moreover, although initially the majority of teachers had held positive attitudes towards ICT use in English teaching and the national reform, their enthusiasm was waning in the light of inadequate support and training. Implications for policy and teacher education are discussed and an ICT-based CPD model for language teachers is proposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The global economic trends and the winds of technological change have elevated the status of integration between industry and education for innovation and entrepreneurship. Technologies and the Internet have significantly changed all aspects of our lives. College education has improved as a result of the enormous benefits of the Internet and big data. Reforms and development have still a lot of application space in the training and practice of educational technology talents of a college education. To improve the performance evaluation capabilities of educational technology experts in Chinese universities through education and "Internet +" has become a challenge that has to be addressed. This article is under such a formal background to have a detailed study about the current college education in China. In this study, an analysis is presented for the performance evaluation of the education technology talent training in modern universities based on big data technology. A fuzzy evaluation algorithm based on composite elements is proposed to evaluate the multielement and multilevel college education system. Experimental results illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The proposed method has the potential to solve the complicated performance evaluation problem in colleges. This paper explores student perceptions of transnational education undergraduate programmes offered in Hong Kong, including their motivation for choosing to study such courses, and their satisfaction. The findings give insight into the role of transnational education (TNE) within higher education provision and issues that providers and policy-makers may need to address. It is based on a survey and student group interviews conducted as part of a wider market research report: Hong Kong: Transnational Education at the Turning Point (British Council and FCE, 2011). The survey and qualitative interview findings affirmed the important role that TNE had to play in extending access to higher education and offering provision in niche subjects that might not be available in the local sector. Responses offered some good news, with positive perceptions of the quality of courses and teaching. However, they also highlighted the challenges that TNE providers and their local partners face, as this type of provision was perceived as a less favourable option for securing a degree and for meeting young people's expectations of a university experience. Higher education, an integral part of China's nation-building project, is a critical element in China's strategic policy initiative of building national strength through science and education. One way to achieve this goal is to develop a higher education system of international stature. Perhaps more than any other country, through national programs such as 211 and 985, China has been explicit in selecting its best universities for intensive investment, with the expressed aim of making them world-class within coming decades, and contributing more to overall R&D and scientific development. Analysing how these top-tier universities in China are reaching for the gold standard, and using Tsinghua University as an example, this article examines the role of higher education in China's rise and how Chinese universities are responding to the drive for innovation, against a background of globalisation and internationalisation. It analyses the experience of Tsinghua, a Chinese flagship university, sometimes dubbed 'China's MIT', through an in-depth case study in an international context, seeking to answer the question of how far Tinsghua embodies the qualities of a world-class university. The article discusses a study on the significance and impact of developments across Chinese higher education for sustainable development (SD). Developments, challenges, and prospects of SD were reviewed in which educational and operational activities in different universities were analyzed. It was found in the study that key barriers for education for sustainable development (ESD) were regional differences and the need for broader educational approaches. it is discussed that resources and capacity are limited for teaching about SD, also, economically effective and environmentally friendly innovations research have been undertaken.

Chinese higher education has changed tremendously since the reformation of the People's Republic of China. Policy directions for higher education, as raised in the national policy paper Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta (2008-2020), are encouraging Hong Kong to develop its education industry in order to become a regional education hub. This article discusses the growth and innovation in higher education in the Pearl River Delta by analysing the development of China and the Delta, as well as by elaborating the experiences of the United International College in creating an innovative education model and integrating education in the Hong Kong and Guangdong regions. For university faculty team, the innovation ecology within the school not only helps to improve the atmosphere and ability of innovation, but also is an important condition to optimize the whole university. It is an issue that all universities urgently need to improve under the development of the times. Based on the relevant literature and theories, we systematically put forward the model of the influencing factors of the innovation and ecological development of colleges in China under the background of the thesis. We focus on analyzing the mediating role of team heterogeneity and the leading role of knowledge governance. To a certain extent, this makes up for the deficiencies of the existing literature. Finally, the conclusion of the study shows that the heterogeneity of university faculty team and the good mechanism of knowledge governance improve the effectiveness of college behavior integration. This makes the continuous development of university faculty, innovation and ecological development of colleges is getting better and better. This not only provides a new perspective for the theoretical exploration of knowledge sharing in universities, but also provides theoretical guidance and methodological support for the subsequent research on knowledge management. Whereas a great deal of literature based upon the context of Western societies has concluded criminology is an ideal discipline for active learning approach, it remains uncertain if this learning approach is applicable to Chinese learners in the discipline of criminology. This article describes and provides evidence of the benefits of using active learning approach in a criminology class in a publicly funded university in a Chinese city − Hong Kong. Using quantitative and qualitative data collected from four cohorts of students enrolled in the course over four years (2008–2011) through structured questionnaire, focus group meetings and students’ self-reflection, it was evident that active learning could not only enable Chinese learners to achieve the course-intended outcomes but also could advance their attitude, knowledge and skills of learning. In the last three decades or so, China has managed to become the second largest economy in the world, especially after engaging in economic reforms since the late 1970s. Despite being a "world factory" and playing a very significant role in manufacturing products and exporting to different parts of the globe, the Chinese government has realized that depending upon this production mode cannot sustain the country's long term economic growth and development. Hence, the Chinese government has tried to invest more in advancing technology, research and innovation, knowledge transfer, and promoting entrepreneurship education. This article sets out to critically examine the major strategies and policies that the Chinese government has adopted in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation against the wider policies outlined above, with a focused reflection given to the major challenges facing Chinese universities during the process of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, and entrepreneurship education. This article presents the findings of a study conducted to determine whether blogs can be used as an effective educational tool. The research subjects were a class of postgraduate students at a university in Hong Kong, China over a period of a single semester. The author of the study focused on a primary question of whether blogs can contribute to an improved learning environment. He also examined the use of other Web 2.0 applications such as Wikies, social networking tools, and social book-marking tools in the classroom.
