In rural India, traditional medicine continues to be the only available form of care. Many communities continue to treat patients using their old methods, unaffected by contemporary medical advancements. Due to their accessibility, affordability, and ease of use, tribal tribes prefer to utilize and consult their own traditional healers. These are likewise thought to be highly effective and without any adverse effects. This paper aims to identify various traditional medicines used for treating illness and infirmities, by taking accounts from the residents of Chungtlang village, Mamit District, Mizoram. This study investigates the reading habits of higher secondary students from two schools in Chhingchhip village of Mizoram, India. A survey was conducted with 25 students from each school, namely Sainik School Chhingchhip and St. Peter's Higher Secondary School Chhingchhip, to gather data on their reading habits. The survey collected information on the frequency and types of reading materials used by the students, the factors influencing their reading habits, and their attitudes toward reading. The results show that the majority of students in both schools read for pleasure, and that reading for academic purposes is also common. The study finds that the reading habits of the students in both schools concerning leisure reading have many similarities, while the fundamental reading culture and frequency of reading and utilizing libraries seem to be different in many ways. Indigenous wisdom uncovered in the past has been determined to be valuable and necessary for modern society's survival. It may also be stated to be a part of some culture's or society's everyday existence. Handloom weaving is one of the Mizo people's necessities since it may be utilized to make a broad variety of various designed handloom items. This study describes how the Mizo tribe's handloom weaving is done and the significance of handloom weaving in Mizo civilization. As a source of knowledge, libraries play an important role in protecting and preserving diverse types of knowledge in various formats. This study explores the research performance of LIS faculties from Central Universities of India through Web of Science using scientometric indicators. It was observed that there were 81 LIS faculties working in 17 Central Universities in India. A total of 157 unique publications were retrieved belonging to 42 LIS faculties from 14 Central Universities. BibliometrixR and VOSviewer were used for analyzing and visualization of data retrieved from WoS. Mukherjee B, of BHU, emerged as the most influential author (faculty) of LIS in terms of publications, citations, h-index and g-index. BHU was the most productive Central University in terms of LIS research. DESIDOC Journal of Library and Information Technology emerged out as the most productive source for LIS research while Scientometrics was the most cited source. The purpose of study is to measure the coverage of LIS academia in Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic using scientometric indicators. The study is based on simple search queries in Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic for each LIS faculty whose information is available on their university website. Duplicate names for LIS faculties have been filtered by adding the extra search string with their names and non-LIS publications have been removed from the study. The study found more coverage for Google Scholar than Microsoft Academic. Google Scholar based "document types" are quite unclear and considered as its' limitations. The study is limited to 26 LIS faculties from five Central Universities of North-East India. The results are limited due to use of simple search in Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic rather than profile search. Study analyses scientometric assessment of LIS research performance of OPEC member countries. The research publication data indexed in Scopus for the OPEC member countries were extracted and used for the analysis. The data are analyzed to identify quantitative research performance of OPEC member countries in terms of total documents, citable documents, and non-citable documents. The citation impact is measured by different parameters, like total citations, citations per document, Relative Citation Impact, self-citations, and self-citations per document. Finally, the quality of the document is assessed by means of h-index. Nigeria has been found to be most productive country in LIS research and Iran is receiving highest citations and also in h-index performance amongst OPEC member countries. Iraq, Libya, and Ecuador are far away in LIS research productivity and needs strong steps to improve LIS research productivity for future endeavor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Library, the source of information is witnessing diminishing physical presence of the users in view of their accessibility of information through Internet mostly among the scholars. Hence, Librarians' initiatives using push and pull technologies and other associated initiatives are pragmatic to attract the users to the library by providing need based adequate information to the users of the university. Revitalizing the resources using various technologies and through skilled professionals have become imminent to generate more productive value of resources. This is primarily intended to optimize the use of library resources and justify Return on Investment. Taking this perspective into account, the authors intended to ascertain initiatives of the librarian undertaken to excel the use of library resources and services to the users communities especially the scholars.
