The article features Japanese artist Naoko Matsubara. Despite spending the first few years of her childhood in the midst of World War II, Matsubara still pursued her passion and was admitted to the College of Fine Arts when she was 19. Learning design from Lizze Ueno Rix, Matsubara was so inspired with Western art and began traveling and explore art from the West. She has become known for woodcuts using her unique techniques. She has also written books like "Tu Tze-Chun" and "The Tale of the Shining Princess."
