This paper analyzes twelve poems by Federico Garcia Lorca that Marina Cvetaeva received from the Russian Hispanist F. Kel'in and translated in 1941. Out of them, five poems were translated into Russian, five into French (these texts were identified and republished only in 2020), and two poems remained untranslated. In this paper, we analyse Cvetaeva's translation process as a reception of texts and compare poetic images from Garcia Lorca's original poems with Marina Cvetaeva's images in translations and her work. It is a well-known fact that Cvetaeva wrote to Kel'in saying she liked Lorca and that the poems were well chosen for her. This statement became the starting point of the work. We demonstrate the typological proximity and similarities of imagery between Garcia Lorca's poems and Cvetaeva's work and trace possible echoes of Cvetaeva's poetry in translations from the Spanish poet. In searching for translation solutions, Cvetaeva activates her vocabulary, as well as metrical, rhetorical, and compositional techniques, and introduces allusions to the works of other Russian authors into the texts. Edgar Allan Poe's life was plagued by melancholy and disaster, which is evident in all of his writings. Among the many other poets of his generation, his solitude and individuality set him apart from the rest. He gave the Gothic genre a completely new meaning, making it both dark and significant at the same time. First, as an overview is given, of the 19th century, Edgar Allan Poe, and the tragedies that influenced his poetry. This study employs a comprehensive methodology focusing on the close reading of three of Poe's wellknown poems: "The Raven," "A Dream within a Dream," and "Alone." By analyzing how sadness and sorrow are portrayed in these poems, the paper investigates the extent to which these emotions impacted Poe's writing. The analytical approach involves delving into the thematic and stylistic nuances of the selected poems, shedding light on the intricate ways in which Poe articulates his emotions. The purpose of this study is to tackle the sense of gloominess and sadness by employing textual and analytical approaches. The significance of the feelings of loss and sorrow in Poe's writings is addressed, drawing connections to Poe's life story. The findings demonstrate that Poe's writings occasionally converge with personal catastrophes, tragedies from his own life, and stories about death sadness, and grief come together on multiple occasions over the course of his demanding career. Concluding that sadness, sorrow, and everything that comes with it were indeed lurking in every one of his statements, this paper contributes to the existing literature by portraying the semi-autobiographical image of the author within the realm of his poetry. The textual and analytical approaches used in this study provide a nuanced understanding of how personal experiences influenced Poe's poetic expression, enriching our comprehension of the intricate relationship between his life and art. How to migrate text-to-image models based on pre-trained diffusion models to adapt them to domain generation tasks is a common problem. In particular, the generation task for Chinese landscape paintings with unique characteristics suffers from a scarcity of fine-grained contextual details specific to such artwork. Moreover, the use of substantial amounts of non-landscape painting data during pre-training predisposes the model to be swayed by alternative visual styles, thereby leading to generated images that inadvertently lack the distinctive traits inherent to Chinese paintings. In this paper, we propose a Fine-grained Hierarchical Semantic Adapter for Chinese landscape paintings generation, namely FHS-adapter. The method orchestrates the diffusion process in a batch-wise manner, leveraging external fine-grained multi-perspective information to guide it. It gradually diminishes the influence of other style images embedded in the pre-trained diffusion model, ultimately preserving a greater number of landscape painting elements. The encoder was also replaced with the Taiyi-CLIP encoder, which is adapted for Chinese. We propose T2ICLP, a multimodal dataset containing 10,000 high-quality image-text pairs of Chinese landscape paintings. Unlike previous datasets, this dataset extracts fine-grained textual information from four perspectives, including Meta, Description, Sentiment, Poem. We compared the proposed model with the mainstream diffusion-based T2I models. Through an anonymous user study, our FHS-adapter method performs well in simulating various aspects such as brushwork, e.g.'Gou, Cun, Dian, Ran' means hooking, texturing, dotting, and dyeing, compositional space, elemental proportions, and color usage of different painting genres and artists. The analysis of Robert Browning's poems “My Last Duchess” & “Porphyria’s Lover” utilizes graphological, phonological, morphological, and lexico-syntactic features, this study aims to uncover how Browning crafts his narrators' voices and conveys their psychological complexities. The analysis will also consider the poems' use of imagery, irony, and narrative structure, highlighting how these elements contribute to the overall effect and meaning. "My Last Duchess" presents a portrait of a possessive and controlling Duke, whose speech reveals his authoritarian nature and moral ambiguity. In contrast, "Porphyria's Lover" explores themes of love, obsession, and madness through the perspective of a narrator who oscillates between tenderness and violence. By comparing and contrasting these two poems, the paper will illustrate Browning's nuanced portrayal of power dynamics and human emotions. Ultimately, this stylistic analysis will demonstrate how Browning's innovative use of the dramatic monologue form not only engages readers but also invites them to question the reliability and motivations of his speakers. In this paper, attempt is made to delineate the English teachers’ experiment of teaching romantic poetry and students’ experience of learning. It focuses on the two famous short lyrical poems of the romantic period: William Wordsworth’s I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud (1804) and Lord Byron’s She Walks in Beauty (1815). These lyrical poems are written in iambic tetrameter. The former celebrates the beauty of the nature, while the latter celebrates the beauty of the unknown maid. The linguistic and literary peculiarities in both the contemporary poems are explored. The advanced learners of the literature are necessarily expected to know these linguistic and literary subtleties for better appreciation of these poems. The analyses of the selected poems are presented in the paper. These analyses are based on the framework of Leech (1969) in which he considers criticism and stylistics as complementary and necessary for literary analysis. The paper concludes that both Wordsworth and Byron succeeded in representing their perceptual experiences through I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud and She Walks in Beauty, respectively. We observed their unique style in their poetry despite of the numerous similarities. It is to be noted that a creator of the text (a poet), the process of creation (creativity, imagination, etc.), its representation in a form of the text (a product), and the (linguistic and/or non-linguistic) context are most prominent aspects in poetic composition. This paper, which is part of the field of studies on Roman dialectal and regional phraseology, analyzes the idiomatic expression tre ppigne e 'na tenaja and its variant tre ppinze e 'na tenaja. This phraseological unit is documented in the 19th century: it is found in a roman poem of G.G. Belli (L'arma de Papa Grigorio, 1836). The article examines Slovak poems by a wide range of authors published in the last third of the 20th century and linked by taking as its theme erotic social interactions in urban public transport. The analysis is conceptually related to Bakhtin's chronotope of the journey and the topos of the encounter and to existing research on poetry with the motifs of accidental male-female encounters in the urban environment and especially in the context of public transport (Walter Benjamin, Alejandro Hermida de Blas, Josef Hrdlička, Pavol Minár). The essay also makes connections with related topoi and paradigmatic texts. The core of the paper focuses on encounters that are motivated erotically on the part of the subject and notices their various forms and distinctive features. It explores both the sensual side of the erotic theme and its reflexive overlaps that are typical of these poems. Two major poets of the Russian Neo-Avant-Garde—Gennady Aygi and Elizaveta Mnatsakanova—created textual works that transgressed the limits of language and the borders between the arts. Each pursued their own method of the visualization and musicalization of verbal matter, yet both share a particular musical sensibility, which guarantees the integrity of the linguistic structure of their verse, despite the fragmentation and logical incoherence of its elements. The atonal (serial) musical tradition has a special significance for these experimental poetics of minimalism. Mnatsakanova, herself a musicologist, who was friends with Dmitri Shostakovich, not only used the techniques of contemporary music composition in her visual and sound poetry, but also collaborated with electronic musicians in her recorded poetry performances. Aygi experimented with language, not only crossing the boundaries between music and poetry, but also between sound and silence. For him, music was a way of expressing pre-verbal subjectivity and reproducing signs of meaning that are hidden from ordinary perception. In his poems, Aygi brought together Chuvash folk music with experimental techniques of minimalism, correlating his own work with such Soviet unofficial composers as Andrey Volkonsky and Sofia Gubaidulina. E.E. Cummings's concrete poetry raises the canonical problem of poetic untranslatability. It is commonly accepted that a poem is constituted as a unity of form and content, and any change in the form of a poem results in the loss of the poetic value and, eventually, translation failure. Two basic approaches have been proposed regarding the untranslatability of Cummings's concrete poetry: mimicry and equivalence of effect. However, the former is impractical, and the latter is an indirect one. This paper proposes employing Wittgenstein's conception of translation in his later philosophy of language to solve the question of the untranslatability of Cummings's concrete poetry. By analysing three of Cummings's concrete poems 'r-p-o-ph-e-s-s-a-g-r', 'mOOn Over tOwns mOOn', and 'Buffalo Bill's', this study suggests that poetry is translatable in the sense that the same language-game in the source text (ST) can be played in the target text (TT) by reconstruction or invention. The present paper offers a new approach to the poetry of the Egyptian Sufi poet 'Umar Ibn al-Fāriḍ (576-632AH/1181-1235AD). This approach is based on the text of Ibn al-Fāriḍ's Great Sufi Poem, al-Tā'iyyat al-kubrā, in which the poet expresses in full his spiritual experience. First, the basic hermeneutical question is discussed, e.g., what is the way of approaching a literary text in order to understand the experience of the poet' Also, it deals with a Sufi text, its context and the relationship between text and experience. To what extent does the author express his inner world verbally? In the end, there is a distance between the interior experience of a Sufi and his verbal expression. Eventually, this method is applied to the poetry of Ibn al-Fāriḍ. He describes his Sufi experience as a journey through three steps: from separation (farq) to unity (ittiḥād) to universal union (gam'). Holism evolution states that although energy, matter, life, consciousness and the human personality are independent and different substances/levels of evolution, they are holistically and intimately related. This paper presents the findings from teaching chemistry to high school science students and post-graduate university science-education students using poetry constructed from physical science ideas embedded in holism evolution. The research findings are based on observations of student behaviour and their written feedback from being taught chemistry using poems on the periodic table and acids and bases. Both poems demonstrate the holism intimacy between various substances/levels of evolution, with the periodic table poem also presenting groups of chemical elements as representing the characteristics of infant, teenager, adult and old age of matter, presenting a holistic relationship between matter and life. The findings indicate that using holism evolution infused content led to a personally meaningful engagement with chemistry even among students with limited previous interest in the subject. Many post-graduate students expressed new levels of engagement with chemistry as well as new insights to enliven their teaching practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper reflects on the absurd humour contained in Kafka's novel The Trial in two selected works of Russian literature. Using the example of two texts representing different genres (a short story and a poem) by Daniil Kharms and Vladimir Yermolayev, it shows how these two authors were inspired by this aspect of Kafka's work: in the case of Vladimir Yermolayev, the source of inspiration is completely unquestionable and is already referred to by the direct allusion in the title. The entire poem is then constructed as a lawsuit that originates, unfolds and concludes within the lyrical subject, which is the metaphorical Kafka himself. For Daniil Charms, the source of inspiration is unacknowledged, though obvious: Charms was inspired by one particular passage of Kafka's novel, which he altered in accordance with his poetics. AI-generated art, text, and audio have emerged in the last year as potentially disruptive technologies: can students now simply plagiarize entire papers whole cloth from an internet chat tool? Is the digital art on display created by a human, or an amalgamation of digital repositories which create art in many styles in seconds? Is the audio or video clip on the screen legitimate, or a forgery produced from a provided bank of samples? Shown in this negative light, the technological advancements in AI are anathema to the traditional spirit of learning and collaboration which is key in the literature classroom. This guide attempts to invert the potentially nefarious uses of AI in education by using its inherently accessible nature to benefit students who might learn best in a visual or creative mode in the study of poetics. By experimenting with free-to-use AI art generation tools, students will come to better understand not only the function and form of poetry, but also poetic paraphrase and figurative language. The aim of the paper is to analyze Enfants du lichen, a book of poems by Maya Cousineau Mollen, an Innu poet born in 1975, in order to see if the labyrinth can be considered as a figure of the postcolonial Native American experience. Although the word « labyrinth » does not make its explicit emergence in the poems, their lexical field evokes a whole imagination which makes it emerge implicitly and allows us to believe that the figure of the labyrinth corresponds to the situation of the former colonized. Our contribution is divided into three parts. The first characterizes the postcolonial Native American experience, as described in the poems, and explains why it may be seen as a labyrinth. The second shows the exploration of the paths of possible escape and the last focuses on the exit, the « passage from darkness to light », which can be read as a new era in the life of Canadian Native Americans. Classical Chinese poetry has been increasingly popular in recent years, and modeling its topic is quite a promising area of research. Chinese poems have the characteristic of short in length, but traditional topic models perform poorly when faced with short texts due to the text sparsity. Therefore, topic model should be improved to satisfy the scenario of classical Chinese poems. In this paper, a relational background knowledge boosting based topic model (RBKBTM) was proposed to overcome the text sparsity of Chinese poems. We incorporated background information into the model, which expanded the text content from the semantic perspective. The background knowledge was combined using word embedding and TextRank and was then fed into the core computing process. Subsequently, a new sampling formula was derived. Our proposed model was tested on three different tasks using three different datasets. The results demonstrate that the incorporated background knowledge can effectively overcomes text sparsity, improving the performance and effectiveness of the topic model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we are interested in pointing out the importance of Pythagoreanism as a possible philosophical path to sustain Western thought, according to María Zambrano’s criteria. In her El hombre y lo divino, Zambrano questions the decisions that philosophy has adopted in its origin and proposes an integrative reason that is capable of including the feeling and the becoming of life in consideration of thought. From this perspective, we will point out the original contribution of Pythagoreanism, its dependence on the “sacred core,” and its expression through alternative forms of language that reflect perceived but not generated harmonies. We will highlight the Orphic basis of thought since its fundamental notions serve the meanings Zambrano prioritizes. We will also point out the consonances between Pythagoreanism and poetic reason, on which the author proposes a different way of thinking from current European systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Integrating literacy practices in science classrooms can help students read complex scientific text, write arguments as part of shared cross-disciplinary practices, and engage with content. In the Linking Science, Mathematics, and Literacy for All Learners program, middle school science, mathematics, ELA, and special education teachers have been implementing multimodal STEM text sets that include a range of texts and scaffolds that support instruction and students' content learning. One of these strategies combines reading and writing in unique and creative ways: poetry writing! Blackout and found poems are accessible approaches to help students focus on key words and ideas in a complex text, pull out those words to work with them, and then reconstruct them into a poem. This article presents an argument about the reasons for the exclusion of Spanish women and their literary production in relation with the rest of the Group of '27 literary canon. In order to evidence the marginalization of these authors and demonstrate their absence in the cultural Spanish landscape, the article begins with an explanation of the historical and sociopolitical context of Spain during the early decades of the 20th century. Afterward, this paper presents a conceptualization of literary canon as a starting point to approach the polemic associated with the --commonly referred to as-- Generation of '27 as well as the configuration of poetry as a characteristic genre in comparison to the other literary work, and the role that critics and history played in the conformation of the canon of the '27 movement. Finally, it is concluded that women were not part of the modernization attempts in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century for different reasons: relegation of them to the domestic sphere, the high representation of men in the Group of '27, the significant role of anthologies and magazines in shaping the canon, and the repression caused by the dictatorship of the Franco regime. This paper establishes a transnational dialogue between different island spaces impacted by mass tourism and highlights poetry's contribution to the political reconfigurations of the Balearic and Caribbean islands. Notwithstanding these island spaces' different historical circumstances, it acknowledges that the tourist industry illustrates crucial historical continuities in each archipelago. The poetics analysed question the pro-growth ideology of the industry, the subservient role of their islands' political classes that disregard human well-being and environmental sustainability, and put the islands' survival at risk. This study identifies resemblances in Caribbean and Balearic island spaces' poetic responses to tourism and recognises local emancipatory alliances that not only bring to the surface shared forms of oppression, but also propose alternatives beyond the (hotel) chains of global capitalism. STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) are a valuable part of a student's education. However, not all students find STEM subjects engaging on their own. This paper investigates the relationship between science and poetry and how these seemingly disparate subjects can be used in tandem to better understand and explore each other. This sitespecific case study offers a glimpse into how a single alternative classroom located in the state of Georgia linked scientific and poetic inquiry to increase student understanding and enjoyment of science and writing. Among the wide variety of Persian manuscript categories, there is a distinctive genre that includes recipes on materials and technics of manuscript production. And within this genre, we come across distinctly interesting works that adopt charming romantic poetry to record subjects that are rather dull, dry, and unattractive to the general audience! One of such historical sources is a sixteenth century manuscript entitled Rose Garden of Purity (Golzār-e Ṣafā) by ʿAlī Ṣayrafī, preserved in Paris Central Library. The subject of this research is the manuscript's impressive Preface in which the poet expresses his sincere devotion to his Creator, and begs for forgiveness - all in melodious poetic language, using technical manuscript terms, colors and pigments as symbols and metaphors. The essay provides an opening remark entitled 'Manuscripts on Manuscript Production' followed by and introduction to the manuscript of 'Golzār-e Ṣafā (Rose Garden of Purity). The little knowledge extracted about ʿAlī Ṣayrafī from the manuscript is shared under 'The Author-cum-Poet.' 'Preface with 12 Couplets' is the focal point of the essay; there the 12 couplets (24 hemistiches) are presented in the original language (Farsi/Persian) along with an English translation that is published here for the first time. A detailed analysis of technical terms used in the Preface, and an elaboration of their symbolic significance, is presented under 'Expression of Devotion in Technical Manuscript Vocabulary.'. This research examines and analyzes the emergence of literary rhetoric in Āshūrāī poetry in order to educate the audience. The study is descriptive-analytical and employs a reference method based on library data. Based on the results of the research, the Āshūrāī poet, in addition to observing literary rhetoric, takes step towards the rhetoric of edification. The rhetoric of Āshūrā poetry, with the help of three literary branches, follows two lofty goals; it observes simultaneous attention to speech and the audience and aims to spread Āshūrāī culture. The rhetorical components of the poem, using various tools and techniques, become the communication bridge between the speech and the audience and provide a platform for forming the heroic and revolutionary spirit of the audience. In this manner, the world of imagination and the dynamics of Āshūrāī poetry progresses towards a philosophy of Āshūrā at a larger scale, and rhetorical layers aligned with literary rhetoric create a vibrant spirit in the audience. In Shāhnama, valor is a fundamental and extensive concept, interlinked with other notions such as wisdom, nobility, warriorship, courage, and reputation. This article aims to examine how the concept of valor is linguistically and visually expressed in Shāhnama; what conceptual metaphors has Ferdowsi employed to elucidate the concept of valor in his poetry, and what techniques has the miniature artist utilized to visualize these metaphors? Has the artist merely adhered to the text or employed creative approaches to convey this concept? To answer these questions, the research adopts George Lakoff and Mark Johnson's conceptual metaphor theory as its theoretical framework. The miniatures are selected from the Houghton (Tahmāsebi) Shāhnama, and their analysis is conducted using Kress and van Leeuwen's social semiotic approach to visual analysis. The findings indicate that, in addition to employing conventional elements such as the appearance of actors, composition, information value, framing, and salience, the miniature artist has utilized elements of performance like participant presence, scene requirements, and vector types to create action. Furthermore, relational elements such as point of view, distance, and contact have been used to depict conceptual metaphors of valor. In some of these images, the artist has been innovative in representing these metaphors, sometimes aligning with the overall narrative and sometimes diverging from it. Nimā Yushij's comprehensive look at poetry and the understanding that any change in poetry must be fundamental and general, prompted all elements in Nimā's "free verse" to undergo a fundamental transformation. Compared to classical poetry, one of the elements that underwent significant change in Nimā's free verse poetry was "language". The issue of language in Nimā's poetry has been the concern of his supporters and the excuse for his opponents since the beginning. Mahdi Akhavān-Sāles was an advocate of Nimā who sought to resolve the complexities and difficulties of his language and wrote the first independent book about the language of Nimā's poetry. This research initially deals with the opinions of Nimā's supporters and opponents regarding the language of his poetry. Then Akhavān's ideas in his book (Atā va laqāye Nimā Yushij) are analyzed using the "critical analysis" method. The study clarifies that Akhavān has tried to defend Nimā's style by finding analogies from the classic poetry for Nimā's language deviations in order to prove that Nimā has used most of the permissions and facilities available to his predecessors. Since Saeed Nafisi's research until now, various collections of Rudaki's poems (Divan-e Rudaki) have been published. The authors of these collections have endeavored to provide a more accurate correction and explanation of Rudaki's verses. The disappearance of Rudaki's Divan and the scattering of his poems in various versions have made the compilation of all versions and providing texts containing Rudaki's poems a challenging task for editors. Consequently, correcting Rudaki's compositions to achieve a revised and refined text has also faced difficulties. Sometimes, despite the existence of versions, editors have incorrectly incorporated deviations into the text of their books deviations that are unsupported by any version. In such cases, editors have either followed Nafisi's corrections and his alternative versions or they have been indifferent to the old and challenging versions, neglecting the distortions and alterations introduced by copyists. Careful consideration of the aforementioned issues, and taking into account the recurring mistakes in Rudaki's collections raises the question of which verses the editors of Rudaki's Divan have included in their books with disregard for the accuracy of versions. In the present study, an attempt has been made to propose corrections for some of Rudaki's verses with precision in manuscript versions, including the vocabulary versions of Asadi Tusi (Lughat-e Furs) and the historical version of Sistan. To correct and complete Sana`i’s works, it is necessary to refer to secondary sources, including Persian dictionaries. In this study, verses attributed to Sana`i in thirteen early Persian dictionaries are reviewed and his nineteen newly found verses are introduced. The method of this research is citation analysis, where, first, the verses attributed to Sana`i are extracted by the library method and based on some Persian dictionaries, and next, by applying the method of citation analysis, the status of each of the attributions is determined. His nineteen verses not available in his edited works are mentioned here. The cases where other verses are mistakenly attributed to Sana`i are introduced in brief. For critical editing and completing Sana`i’s works, it is necessary to resort to his poetic evidence in Persian dictionaries. By assessing thirteen Persian dictionaries from the 7th to the 13th century AH, a total of 1515 verses, are attributed to Sana`i is found, among which, his nineteen verses are absent in his printed works. The attribution of poetic evidence in Persian dictionaries is sometimes incorrect and a verse is mistakenly attributed to another poet. As in these thirteen dictionaries, thirty-one verses and one stanza are wrongly attributed to Sana`i. This mistake occurred mostly in the Suzani Samarqandi poems and Nezami Ganjavi's Haft-Peykar. In Persian dictionaries, among the works of Sana`i, the verses of Hadiqat al-Haqiqah and his Divan are cited the most. Sana`i’s printed works do not represent all his poems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study analyzes the depiction of nature in poetry, especially in Ibn-Khafaja's and Wordsworth's selected poems. This study is based on New Criticism's conceptual, analytical, and theoretical approaches. New Criticism studies the achievement of the works' meanings by studying their "interrelationships of sound, texture, structure, rhetoric, and a host of other literary devices" (Bressler, 2011, p. 57). The significance of the study is to provide a parallel comparative study between these two poets whose religions, traditions, languages, and eras are dissimilar. Ibn-Khafaja recognizes his surrounding nature as the ideal and beautiful place where people feel relaxed, hopeful, and pleased. He states that humankind and nature are originally adapted to each other, and people are always fascinated by the beauty of nature. He sees nature as the typical shelter to stay happy and peaceful. He is fascinated by the images of the mountains, horses, birds, and trees. On the other hand, Wordsworth shows nature as a place of happiness, perfectness, and peace. He accentuates the deep relationship between human beings and nature, and how people admire nature in its beautiful images. The purpose of the work is to analyze the early texts of Timur Kibirov and determine his involvement in the group "Moscow romantic conceptualism" (B. Groys). The article shows that personal friendship with D. A. Prigov, L. Rubinstein, D. Novikov, M. Eisenberg and other conceptualists and soc-artists does not make Kibirov a conceptualist in the exact sense of the word. It is demonstrated that already in the early poems Kibirov overcomes the limited framework of conceptual art, following the path of perception of the tradition of Russian classical literature, inheriting its best examples. This study aims to investigate the prominent linguistic features in the poetry collection I Feel Different by the poet Ismail Al-Saudi. It seeks to highlight the role of language and grammar in constructing literary texts and uncovering their aesthetic and intended meanings. The study is divided into four main themes: the empty exception and its significance in the poetry collection, prohibition and command and their significance in the poetry collection, interrogation and its significance in the poetry collection, and justification and its significance in the poetry collection. The introduction provides an overview of the importance of language and its role in literary text interpretation. The study employs both descriptive and analytical approaches to explore the linguistic features. It begins by presenting an overview of the linguistic features as mentioned in language and grammar books. This essay discusses two approaches I use to teach Anne Finch's—and others'—poetry. Drawing on certain habits of early modern manuscript culture, I make visible to my students ways that reading and writing are socially embedded practices, which may variously involve exchange, reciprocity, or censorship. By adapting the "quaint" habits of manuscript culture practiced by Finch and many others to specific assignments, I encourage students to experience poetry as living, sociable occasions of reading and writing. To augment my students' engagement with early modern poetry I connect it to frameworks from their twenty-first-century reading and writing worlds. These exercises in "early modern social media" provide students with an intimate structure for studying a poem that resonates with many of their interests in creative writing and with their participation, mutatis mutandis, in one or more kinds of twentyfirst-century social media. This article stems from a workshop presented at the 15th TQR conference on poetry in teaching and learning qualitative research. Over the last few decades, scholars have argued for the use of poetry and other arts-based techniques in qualitative research. Most of the research, however, focuses on using poetry for data analysis and representation. In this article, we shift the conversation to the use of poetry for teaching and learning qualitative research. Starting with a poem in three voices of educator, student, and researcher, we provide an overview of poetry use in qualitative inquiry. We then offer brief overviews of poetic forms such as found poetry, identity poems, haikus, and free verse poetry. Subsequently, we share examples of how we have used these poetic forms in our own teaching and learning of qualitative research. In sharing the reasoning, guidelines, and examples of poetry use in the qualitative research classroom, we invite others wanting to implement poetry in their work to try one or more of the practices. This article reads Love Again (1992), the last poem written by contemporary Palestinian poet Walid Saif based on Heidegger's concept of the Dasein as detailed in Being and Time and his concept of art as detailed in "The Origin of the Work of Art" as well as in other of his works. In Love Again "togetherness," which is the essence of the Dasein, dissolves completely into the kind of being of "the Others". Heidegger's definition of "the truth of being" has the tendency of combining two contesting groups of theories: the first is a modernist group that advocates an intrinsic/textual approach to read literary texts in light of new criticism and other formalist schools. The second is a group that advocates a contextual/extrinsic/political approach to read literary texts like new historicism, postcolonialism and others. A Heideggerian reading of Saif's poem debunks the modernist claim that a detachable aesthetic experience can safeguard the poem's "historical permanence" and transcend its political context. Unlike formalists of his time, Heidegger was not concerned with the tension that emerged between the above two groups since he took both the extrinsic and intrinsic elements of a literary work as indispensable elements towards exploring the literary work.
