Molybdenum cofactor sulfurase (MoCoS) is a key gene involved in the uric acid metabolic pathway that activates xanthine dehydrogenase to synthesise uric acid. Uric acid is harmful to mammals but plays crucial roles in insects, one of which is the immune responses. However, the function of Bombyx mori MoCoS in response to BmNPV remains unclear. In this study, BmMoCoS was found to be relatively highly expressed in embryonic development, gonads and the Malpighian tubules. In addition, the expression levels of BmMoCoS were significantly upregulated in three silkworm strains with different levels of resistance after virus infection, suggesting a close link between them. Furthermore, RNAi and overexpression studies showed that BmMoCoS was involved in resistance to BmNPV infection, and its antivirus effects were found to be related to the regulation of uric acid metabolism, which was uncovered by inosine‐ and febuxostat‐coupled RNAi and overexpression. Finally, the BmMoCoS‐mediated uric acid pathway was preliminarily confirmed to be a potential target to protect silkworms from BmNPV infection. A dinuclear Fe(II) spin crossover (SCO) complex with the formula [Fe2L5(NCS)4]·2DMF·2H2O (1) was synthesised from 1-naphthylimino-1,2,4-triazole (L). Complex 1 exhibits an incomplete thermally induced spin transition with a transition temperature T1/2 of 95 K and a thermally trapped metastable high-spin state at low temperatures. In the event of a postulated severe accident, fission products may leak into the reactor building through the containment wall, exerting a radiological impact on the emergency response team as they are tasked with performing mitigative missions. It is thus important to estimate the potential radiological consequences of the mission before taking action so that an optimized plan can be devised to avoid putting the team in harm's way unintentionally. Some of the most well-known accident simulation codes were attempted to do the estimation, but were found to be too time consuming to get the results, making them not suitable for emergency use. The problem evidently arises from the fact that there are too many (about 200) compartments in a typical reactor building. In this study, the software REMADA is developed to simulate fission product dispersion in a reactor building (with about 200 compartments) within a reasonable timeframe, and to estimate the radiation doses to those who are carrying out mitigative missions in the reactor building. Auxin regulates plant growth and development through downstream signaling pathways, including the best-known SCFTIR1/AFB-Aux/IAA-ARF pathway and several other less characterized "noncanonical" pathways. Recently, one SCFTIR1/AFB-independent noncanonical pathway, mediated by Transmembrane Kinase 1 (TMK1), was discovered through the analyses of its functions in Arabidopsis apical hook development. Asymmetric accumulation of auxin on the concave side of the apical hook triggers DAR1-catalyzed release of the C-terminal of TMK1, which migrates into the nucleus, where it phosphorylates and stabilizes IAA32/34 to inhibit cell elongation, which is essential for full apical hook formation. However, the molecular factors mediating IAA32/34 degradation have not been identified. Here, we show that proteins in the CYTOKININ INDUCED ROOT WAVING 1 (CKRW1)/WAVY GROWTH 3 (WAV3) subfamily act as E3 ubiquitin ligases to target IAA32/34 for ubiquitination and degradation, which is inhibited by TMK1c-mediated phosphorylation. This antagonistic interaction between TMK1c and CKRW1/WAV3 subfamily E3 ubiquitin ligases regulates IAA32/34 levels to control differential cell elongation along opposite sides of the apical hook. Study Design. A retrospective study. Objective. To compare the mini nutritional assessment-short form (MNA-SF), geriatric nutritional risk index, prognostic nutritional index (PNI), and preoperative serum albumin level as predictors of postoperative adverse events (AEs) in degenerative spine deformity (DSD) patients. Summary of Background Data. Although various nutritional screening tools have been well evaluated in patients undergoing spinal fusion surgery, the most suitable tool for the DSD population remains uncertain at present. Patients and Methods. The authors reviewed consecutive patients who underwent thoracolumbar fusion surgery for DSD between August 2016 and May 2023. Four screening tools were used to assess preoperative nutritional status. Patients were divided into two categories according to each screening tool, and the four screening tools were compared regarding their predictive power for postoperative AEs, including the rates of extended length of hospital stays (LOS), complications, and readmission within three months. Physical functional indicators such as time to first ambulation, nonhome discharge, and postoperative LOS were assessed as secondary outcome measures. A multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with postoperative AEs. Results. A total of 228 patients were included. The demographic characteristics, underlying disease, and magnitude of correction were not significantly different between well-nourished and malnourished groups. The nutritional risks shown by MNA-SF and albumin level were significantly associated with infectious complications (P<0.05). The nutritional risk shown by MNA-SF was significantly associated with nonhome discharge, prolonged postoperative LOS (12.5±8.2 vs. 10.3±6.1, P=0.039), and delayed ambulation (3.7 ±2.1 vs. 2.2±1.8, P= 0.001). Multivariable logistic regression revealed that PNI <50 was significantly associated with total AEs and minor AEs after DSD surgery. Conclusions. PNI was significantly associated with the incidence of total AEs and minor AEs, while preoperative albumin level and MNA-SF were more effective in predicting postoperative infectious complications and delayed recovery of physical function, respectively. Objective • The objective of this study is to investigate effective pain management strategies for women undergoing labiaplasty surgery. By focusing on pain relief, patient rehabilitation, and satisfaction improvement, we aim to enhance the overall patient experience and outcomes of this common gynecological plastic surgery. Methods • A total of 126 individuals diagnosed with labia minora hypertrophy and who underwent plastic surgery on their labia minora within the period of July 2020 to July 2023 were chosen as the participants for this study. They were divided into an observation group and a comparison group, each consisting of 63 cases, based on the different nursing methods. The comparison group was treated with routine perioperative nursing after labia minora surgery, and the observation group was treated with perioperative pain nursing management based on the comparison group. Postoperative pain score, comfort score, incision healing time, first urination time, night Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score, complications, and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. All data were established in an Excel database, and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS26.0. Statistical methods used include descriptive analysis, t tests, and Chi-square tests. Results • The mean incision healing time of the observation group was 3.90±0.61 days, and that of the control group was 3.62±0.64 days. The mean incision healing time of the observation group was significantly different from that of the control group (P < .05). VRS scores and PSQI scores were significantly lower in both groups 1 week aftercare compared with 1 day before care, indicating improvements in pain and sleep quality. The improvement degree of VRS score and PSQI score in the observation group was significantly different (P < .05). The number of incision infections, hematoma, flap necrosis, skin scar, delayed healing, and total complication rate were 3 in the observation group and 11 in the comparison group, indicating that the complication rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the comparison group. The comparison difference was statistically significant (P < .05). Through the Chi-square test, the nursing satisfaction and perineal aesthetic effect satisfaction of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the comparison group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < .05). Conclusions • The implementation of perioperative pain nursing management has been shown to effectively alleviate pain in patients diagnosed with labia minora hypertrophy. This approach not only enhances treatment comfort but also significantly reduces the occurrence of postoperative complications. Additionally, it accelerates the healing process of incisions, improves the quality of incision healing, and enhances patient satisfaction with both the aesthetic outcome of the perineal area and the quality of nursing care provided. The hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-mediated hypoxia signaling pathway influences oxygen homeostasis in aerobic organisms. This pathway is regulated by several other pathways. Elucidation of its regulation and the underlying mechanisms may provide insights into the strategies of adaptation and tolerance of organisms to hypoxia. In this study, we found that loss of ubiquitin-specific protease 3 (usp3) in zebrafish promotes hypoxia tolerance. Zebrafish usp3 specifically binds to hif-1αa and induces its proteasomal degradation, which is dependent on its deubiquitinase activity. This process leads to the suppression of hypoxia signaling under hypoxia. In addition, usp3 catalyzes the deubiquitination of K63-polyubiquitinated hif-1αa. Endogenous evidence indicated that mammalian USP3 behaves like zebrafish usp3 in regulating the activity of HIF-1α. These findings revealed a novel role for usp3 in influencing hypoxia signaling and showed that usp3-mediated HIF-1α degradation impairs hypoxia signaling, leading to a decrease in hypoxia tolerance. Shadow education has burgeoned into a global phenomenon, and over the last 30 years, a substantial body of literature has emerged to explore this trend. Drawing on bibliometric data from 377 articles retrieved from the Web of Science (WOS), this study investigates the evolving landscape of shadow education research. It examines historical publication trends through performance analysis, intellectual sources and evolving themes using co‐citation analysis, complemented by co‐word analysis. Major authors and collaboration dynamics are discerned through co‐authorship analysis, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of collaborative networks. Additionally, the study constructs an evolution path for shadow education research published in journals, employing citation analysis supplemented by social network analysis methods. In conclusion, the study not only illuminates the historical trajectory of shadow education as a concept but also poses pertinent questions and offers recommendations for future research. Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a leading cause of hospital-acquired acute kidney injury (AKI). Recently, ferroptosis was reported to be crucial for AKI pathogenesis. Our previous studies indicated antioxidant tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) prevent CIN in vivo. However, whether ferroptosis is involved in TMP nephroprotective mechanism against CIN is unclear. In the present study, we investigated the role of renal tubular epithelial cell ferroptosis in TMP reno-protective effect against CIN and the molecular mechanisms by which TMP regulates ferroptosis. Classical contrast-medium, Iohexol, was used to construct CIN models in rats and HK-2 cells. Results showed that tubular cell injury was accompanied by ferroptosis both in vivo and in vitro, including the typical features of ferroptosis, Fe2+ accumulation, lipid peroxidation and decreased glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4). Ferroptosis inhibition by classic inhibitors Fer-1 and DFO promoted cell viability and reduced intracellular ROS production. Additionally, TMP significantly inhibited renal dysfunction, reduced AKI biomarkers, prevented ROS production, inhibited renal Fe2+ accumulation and increased GPX4 expression. Expressions of various proteins associated with iron ion metabolism, including transferrin receptor (TFRC), divalent metal transporter 1, iron-responsive element binding protein 2, ferritin heavy chain 1, ferroportin 1, and heat shock factor binding protein 1, were examined using mechanistic analyses. Among these, TFRC changes were the most significant after TMP pretreatment. Results of siRNA knockdown and plasmid overexpression of TFRC indicated that TFRC is essential for TMP to alleviate ferroptosis and reduce LDH release, Fe2+ accumulation and intracellular ROS. For a class of three-by-three block systems of linear equations arising from many practical problems, we develop a multi-parameter dimensional split (MPDS) preconditioner to accelerate the convergence of the Krylov subspace methods. Inasmuch as the preconditioning effect of the MPDS preconditioner depends on the values of its parameters, an effective method for computing the optimal parameters is also proposed. Moreover, the eigenvalue distribution of the preconditioned matrix is carefully analyzed. Numerical examples arising from the discretizations of the Navier–Stokes equations and the partial differential equation (PDE) constraint optimization problems are employed to illustrate the robustness and the efficiency of the MPDS preconditioner. The genus Samsoniella was erected based on orange cylindrical to clavate stromata, superficial perithecia and conidiophores with Isaria-like phialides and to segregate them from the Akanthomyces group. In this study, based on morphological features and multigene (SSU, LSU, TEF, RPB1 and RPB2) phylogenetic analysis six Samsoniella species parasitizing spiders were collected in China. Three of them belong to known species S. alpina, S. erucae and S. hepiali. Three new species S. anhuiensis sp. nov., S. aranea sp. nov. and S. fusiformispora sp. nov. are illustrated and described. They are clearly distinct from other species in Samsoniella occurring in independent subclades. Furthermore, among the four insect-pathogenic fungi specimens collected from similar sites, three of them were identified as the new species described below. Our study significantly broadens the host range of Samsoniella from Insecta to Arachnida, marking a noteworthy expansion in understanding the ecological associations of these fungi. Additionally, the identification of both mononematous and synnematous conidiophores in our study not only expands the knowledge of Samsoniella species but also provides a basis for future research by comparing the ecological significance between these conidiophore types. In conclusion, our study enhances the understanding of Samsoniella diversity, presenting a refined phylogenetic framework and shedding light on the ecological roles of these fungi in spider parasitism. Keratin 80 (KRT80) is a filament protein that makes up one of the major structural fibers of epithelial cells, and involved in cell differentiation and epithelial barrier integrity. Here, KRT80 mRNA expression was found to be higher in esophageal cancer than normal epithelium by RT-PCR and bioinformatics analysis (p < .05), opposite to KRT80 methylation (p < .05). There was a negative relationship between promoter methylation and expression level of KRT80 gene in esophageal cancer (p < .05). KRT80 mRNA expression was positively correlated with the differentiation, infiltration of immune cells, and poor prognosis of esophageal cancer (p < .05). KRT80 mRNA expression was positively linked to no infiltration of immune cells, the short survival time of esophageal cancers (p < .05). The differential genes of KRT80 mRNA were involved in fat digestion and metabolism, peptidase inhibitor, and intermediate filament, desosome, keratinocyte differentiation, epidermis development, keratinization, ECM regulator, complement cascade, metabolism of vitamins and co-factor (p < .05). KRT-80-related genes were classified into endocytosis, cell adhesion molecule binding, cadherin binding, cell-cell junction, cell leading edge, epidermal cell differentiation and development, T cell differentiation and receptor complex, plasma membrane receptor complex, external side of plasma membrane, metabolism of amino acids and catabolism of small molecules, and so forth (p < .05). KRT80 knockdown suppressed anti-apoptosis, anti-pyroptosis, migration, invasion, chemoresistance, and lipogenesis in esophageal cancer cells (p < .05), while ACC1 and ACLY overexpression reversed the inhibitory effects of KRT80 on lipogenesis and chemoresistance. These findings indicated that up-regulated expression of KRT80 might be involved in esophageal carcinogenesis and subsequent progression, aggravate aggressive phenotypes, and induced chemoresistance by lipid droplet assembly and ACC1- and ACLY-mediated lipogenesis. The effects of general anesthetic agents (GAAs) on microglia and their potential neurotoxicity have attracted the attention of neuroscientists. Microglia play important roles in the inflammatory process and in neuromodulation of the central nervous system. Microglia-mediated neuroinflammation is a key mechanism of neurocognitive dysfunction during the perioperative period. Microglial activation by GAAs induces antiinflammatory and pro-inflammatory effects in microglia, suggesting that GAAs play a dual role in the mechanism of postoperative cognitive dysfunction. Understanding of the mechanisms by which GAAs regulate microglia may help to reduce the incidence of postoperative adverse effects. Here, we review the actions of GAAs on microglia and the consequent changes in microglial function. We summarize clinical and animal studies associating microglia with general anesthesia and describe how GAAs interact with neurons via microglia to further explore the mechanisms of action of GAAs in the nervous system. Metabolites are important indicators of cancer and mutations in genes involved in amino acid metabolism may influence tumorigenesis. Immunotherapy is an effective cancer treatment option; however, its relationship with amino acid metabolism has not been reported. In this study, RNA-seq data for 371 liver cancer patients were acquired from TCGA and used as the training set. Data for 231 liver cancer patients were obtained from ICGC and used as the validation set to establish a gene signature for predicting liver cancer overall survival outcomes and immunotherapeutic responses. Four reliable groups based on 132 amino acid metabolism-related DEGs were obtained by consistent clustering of 371 HCC patients and a four-gene signature for prediction of liver cancer survival outcomes was developed. Our data show that in different clinical groups, the overall survival outcomes in the high-risk group were markedly low relative to the low-risk group. Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that the characteristics of the 4-gene signature were independent prognostic factors for liver cancer. The ROC curve revealed that the risk characteristic is an efficient predictor for 1-, 2-, and 3-year HCC survival outcomes. The GSVA and KEGG pathway analyses revealed that high-risk score tumors were associated with all aspects of the degree of malignancy in liver cancer. There were more mutant genes and greater immune infiltrations in the high-risk groups. Assessment of the three immunotherapeutic cohorts established that low-risk score patients significantly benefited from immunotherapy. Then, we established a prognostic nomogram based on the TCGA cohort. In conclusion, the 4-gene signature is a reliable diagnostic marker and predictor for immunotherapeutic efficacy. When the airlift bioreactor is applied to the field of industrial fermentation, there is a common problem of low mixing and flow efficiency due to its simple structure. In order to expand the application of airlift bioreactor in the field of industrial fermentation, a new type of airlift bioreactor with three-dimensional bumps in the draft tube has been designed to enhance the mixing and flow of gas-liquid two-phase in the reactor. In order to determine the specific influence of the three-dimensional bumps on the internal flow field of the reactor, and to provide technical reference for the improvement of the structure of the airlift bioreactor, in this paper, the CFD simulation of this type of bioreactor is carried out. Based on the Euler multiphase flow, the Realizable k-ε model was used to analyze the flow field of the reactor with average gas-liquid flow linear velocity and temperature as parameters. The results show that under certain conditions, the three-dimensional bumps inside the draft tube can effectively accelerate the gas-liquid two-phase flow and better promotes the mixing of pig manure fermentation broth and air. Yi Qi Chu Tan Formula (YQCTF), a prescription consisting of eight traditional Chinese medicine for treating lung cancer, has been clinically proven to be effective in improving the life quality and prolonging the survival time of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of YQCTF on NSCLC mice model and further explore its therapeutic targets by using network pharmacology, proteomics and pharmacodynamic methodologies. The network pharmacology analysis was firstly conducted to screen out the potential active ingredients and therapeutic targets of YQCTF against NSCLC. Three kinds of extracts, i.e. the water extract (WE), water extraction-alcohol precipitation (WEAP) and alcohol extract (AE) of YQCTF were prepared, which chemical compositions were subsequently analyzed by using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS), and which anti-neoplastic efficacy was examined on NSCLC mice model. Mice tumor tissues were collected for proteomics analysis, and the immunomodulatory effects of YQCTF extracts on the tumor microenvironment (TME) were further validated by using flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western blot. Network pharmacology identified 60 conjunct genes and ample cancer-related signaling pathways as potential therapeutic targets of YQCTF. Protein-protein interaction (PPI), Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis indicated that YQCTF might negatively regulate cancer-related inflammation. UPLC-MS/MS analysis showed that the main components of YQCTF include at least ginsenosides, solasodine, solamargine, solasonine, peimisine, peiminine, peimine and sipeimine-3β-D-glucosihde. All kinds of YQCTF extracts significantly inhibited the growth of lung cancer allograft and regulated the ratio of immune cells in tumor tissues, i.e. upregulated the fractions of T cells, promoted the maturation of dendritic cells (DCs), increased the M1/M2 ratio of tumor-related macrophages, but reduced the number of Tregs and immunosuppressive neutrophils. Proteomics identified neutrophils to be the most prominently enriched target linked to NETs formation in mice tumor tissue, which is verified by the downregulation of neutrophil recruiting factors involving IL-6, HIF-1α and IL-8, as well as the decreases of NETs-related biomarkers including H3cit, MPO, CD18, MMP9 and ICAM-1 in immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western blot analysis. YQCTF inhibited the progress of mice NSCLC allograft, suppressed the pro-tumorigenic tumor-associated neutrophils and improved the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME). Aristolochic acid nephropathy (AAN) has drawn increasing public attention. Organic anion transporters (OATs) are considered to be responsible for mediating nephrotoxicity of aristolochic acids (AAs), as AAs are typical OAT1 substrates that exhibit anionic properties and contain one hydrophobic domain. Inspired by the OAT1 three-dimensional structure or substrate/protein interactions involved in transport, we designed a magnetic polymeric hybrid, mimicking the effect of basic and aromatic residues of OAT1, for efficient enriching aristolochic acid I (AA I) and aristolochic acid II (AA II) in Traditional Chinese patent medicines (TCPM). N, N-dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide (DMAPAm) was used as a cationic monomer and copolymerized with divinylbenzene (DVB) onto the surface of monodisperse magnetic nanoparticles (denoted as MNs@SiO2T-DvbDam). The magnetic polymer hybrid demonstrated high selectivity and capacity for AAs, which was mainly attributed to (1) electrostatic interactions from the cationic or basic moiety of DMAPAm and (2) the hydrophobic and p-p stacking interactions from the aromatic ring of DVB. Additionally, the surface of the hybrid exhibited amphiphilic property according to the ionization of DMAPAm, thus improving the compatibility of the adsorbent with the aqueous sample matrix. This strategy was proven to be robust in the analysis of real drug samples, which was characterized by a good linearity, high recovery and satisfactory reusability. On June 10, 2022, the MS6.0 Ma'erkang earthquake sequence occurred in the Bayan Har block. In this paper, the temporal and spatial distribution and attenuation characteristics of earthquake sequence is analyzed based on the regional structure, the temporal and spatial distribution of earthquake sequence, the focal mechanism solution, and the parameters of earthquake sequence, using the data of Sichuan Seismic Network and the temporary stations incorporated into the network. The results show that: (1) The MS6.0 Ma'erkang earthquake sequence is generally distributed in NW-SE direction, and the long axis of this series is basically consistent with the nearby Songgang fault. (2) As the earthquake sequence is formed by three large events with MS ≥5.0, the frequency of small earthquakes in the earthquake sequence area generally attenuates relatively slowly, while the activity level (magnitude) of aftershocks attenuates rapidly. (3) After the MS5.2 earthquake, the sequence parameters obtained show that the h-value is 1.09 and the p-value is stable at 1.02, indicating that the intensity and frequency attenuation of the earthquake sequence are gradually stable and tend to be normal. The b-value is 0.95, indicating that the maximum aftershock magnitude of the series is estimated to be ML5.1, and the b-value gradually tended to be stable, indicating that the stress in the region gradually tended to be balanced after the MS5.2 earthquake. The MS4.4 (ML5.0) earthquake that occurred at 4:37 on June 10 (local time) is the largest aftershock after the MS5.2 earthquake in the sequence. In this study, a rapid carbonization-activation two-step process for preparing powdered activated coke (PAC) sorbent is proposed. Shengli lignite is utilized as the feedstock to prepare PACs through this process, employing various combinations of carbonization and activation temperatures. The pore structure, surface functional groups, yield and SO2 adsorption properties of the PACs are comprehensively analyzed. Additionally, Aspen Plus software is employed to calculate the system equilibrium of this process. Results demonstrate that the performance of the prepared PAC is predominantly influenced by the activation temperature. Despite variations in carbonization temperature, consistent performance and yield are achieved as long as the activation temperature remains constant. Through the experimental design, the optimum combination of carbonization temperature and activation temperature of the two-step process is optimized, that is, the carbonization temperature is 750°C, and the activation temperature is 950°C. The SBET of the PAC prepared under optimal condition is 550 m² /g, and its SO2 adsorption capacity is 116.58 mg/g, which are both higher than that of the other ACs. The system equilibrium indicates that the optimal parameters for PAC preparation can be achieved by employing a water and air spray technique between the combustion zone and activation zone, with a water spray rate of 1.70 (kg/kg coal for combustion) and an air spray rate of 2.75 (kg/kg coal for combustion). In addition, the maintenance of system equilibrium necessitates the combustion of a certain amount of gas to elevate the temperature through the injection of a specific quantity of air into the carbonization step, with an air spray rate set at 11.00 (kg/kg coal for combustion). Comprehensive Summary: Actin filaments play important physiological functions, which have become potential targets of antitumor drugs. Using chemicals to intervene their polymerization‐depolymerization dynamics would generate new strategies for designing antitumor drugs. In this report, an artificial water channel appending acetazolamide moiety, a ligand that can selectively bind to carbonic anhydrase IX, has been prepared. We demonstrated that this conjugate can target colorectal cancer cells overexpressing carbonic anhydrase IX and trigger the depolymerization of actin filaments of the cancer cells by selectively mediating water transmembrane transport. Moreover, the conjugate‐promoted actin depolymerization led to tumor cell apoptosis and its high antitumor activity in vitro and in vivo against colorectal cancer. The method described herein represents a new and general strategy for designing antitumor drugs by using artificial channel‐mediated selective water transport to promote actin depolymerization. Background: Triglyceride glucose (TyG) and TyG-body mass index (TyG-BMI) are reliable surrogate indices of insulin resistance and used for risk stratification and outcome prediction in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Here, we inserted estimated average glucose (eAG) into the TyG (TyAG) and TyG-BMI (TyAG-BMI) as derived parameters and explored their clinical significance in cardiovascular risk prediction. Methods: This was a population-based cohort study of 9,944 Chinese patients with ASCVD. The baseline admission fasting glucose and A1C-derived eAG values were recorded. Cardiovascular events (CVEs) that occurred during an average of 38.5 months of follow-up were recorded. We stratified the patients into four groups by quartiles of the parameters. Baseline data and outcomes were analyzed. Results: Distribution of the TyAG and TyAG-BMI indices shifted slightly toward higher values (the right side) compared with TyG and TyG-BMI, respectively. The baseline levels of cardiovascular risk factors and coronary severity increased with quartile of TyG, TyAG, TyG-BMI, and TyAG-BMI (all P<0.001). The multivariate-adjusted hazard ratios for CVEs when the highest and lowest quartiles were compared from low to high were 1.02 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.77 to 1.36; TyG), 1.29 (95% CI, 0.97 to 1.73; TyAG), 1.59 (95% CI, 1.01 to 2.58; TyG-BMI), and 1.91 (95% CI, 1.16 to 3.15; TyAG-BMI). The latter two showed statistical significance. Conclusion: This study suggests that TyAG and TyAG-BMI exhibit more information than TyG and TyG-BMI in disease progression among patients with ASCVD. The rice stem borer (RSB), Chilo suppressalis, a notorious rice pest in China, has evolved a high resistance level to commonly used insecticides. Tetraniliprole, a new anthranilic diamide insecticide, effectively controls multiple pests, including RSB. However, the potential resistance risk of RSB to tetraniliprole is still unknown. In this study, the tetraniliprole‐selection (Tet‐R) strain was obtained through 10 continuous generations of selection with tetraniliprole 30% lethal concentration (LC30). The realized heritability (h2) of the Tet‐R strain was 0.387, indicating that resistance of RSB to tetraniliprole developed rapidly under the continuous selection of tetraniliprole. The Tet‐R strain had a high fitness cost (relative fitness = 0.53). We established the susceptibility baseline of RSB to tetraniliprole (lethal concentration at LC50 = 0.727 mg/L) and investigated the resistance level of 6 field populations to tetraniliprole. All tested strains that had resistance to chlorantraniliprole exhibited moderate‐ to high‐level resistance to tetraniliprole (resistance ratio = 27.7−806.8). Detection of ryanodine receptor (RyR) mutations showed that the Y4667C, Y4667D, I4758M, and Y4891F mutations were present in tested RSB field populations. RyR mutations were responsible for the cross‐resistance between tetraniliprole and chlorantraniliprole. Further, the clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats (CRISPR) / CRISPR‐associated protein 9‐mediated genome‐modified flies were used to study the contribution of RyR mutations to tetraniliprole resistance. The order of contribution of a single RyR mutation to tetraniliprole resistance was Y4667D > G4915E > Y4667C ≈ I4758M > Y4891F. In addition, the I4758M and Y4667C double mutations conferred higher tetraniliprole resistance than single Y4667C mutations. This study explores the low‐temperature pyrolysis kinetic of low metamorphic grade coal from Northern Shaanxi, utilizing Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy to analyze the characteristics of various functional groups over a 293–1023 K temperature range. A kinetic model, correlating with the pyrolysis behaviors of these groups, was developed through thermal analysis kinetics. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology simulated the furnace's flow dynamics, allowing an examination of the physical field alterations and functional group evolution during pyrolysis. Results showed that the pyrolysis kinetic functions for aromatic C–H, C=C, C–O, and •OH, along with temperature, pressure, and velocity fields, were successfully integrated into the simulation. This integration provided detailed insights into the temperature profile, pressure distribution, flow velocities, and functional group distribution in the furnace. Aliphatics, exhibiting the largest mass fraction and wide pyrolysis temperature range, and •OH radicals with the highest activation energy were concentrated in the furnace's pyrolysis zone center. C=C's distribution was influenced by aromatic C–H and aliphatics, showing a complementary pattern. The oxygen‐containing groups C–O and C=O had similar pyrolysis mechanisms and uniform distribution. INTRODUCTION: Prediction models for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) need to be proven effective in the target population before they can be applied to population-based endoscopic screening to improve costeffectiveness. We have systematically reviewed ESCC prediction models applicable to the general population and performed external validation and head-to-head comparisons in a large multicenter prospective cohort including 5 high-risk areas of China (Fei Cheng, Lin Zhou, Ci Xian, Yang Zhong, and Yan Ting). METHODS: Models were identified through a systematic review and validated in a large population-based multicenter prospective cohort that included 89,753 participants aged 40--69 years who underwent their first endoscopic examination between April 2017 and March 2021 and were followed up until December 31, 2022. Model performance in external validation was estimated based on discrimination and calibration. Discrimination was assessed by C-statistic (concordance statistic), and calibration was assessed by calibration plot and Hosmer-Lemeshow test. RESULTS: The systematic review identified 15 prediction models that predicted severe dysplasia and above lesion (SDA) or ESCC in the general population, of which 11 models (4 SDA and 7 ESCC) were externally validated. The C-statistics ranged from 0.67 (95% confidence interval 0.66--0.69) to 0.70 (0.68--0.71) of the SDA models, and the highest was achieved by Liu et al (2020) and Liu et al (2022). The C-statistics ranged from 0.51 (0.48--0.54) to 0.74 (0.71--0.77), and Han et al (2023) had the best discrimination of the ESCC models. Most models were well calibrated after recalibration because the calibration plots coincided with the x 5 y line. DISCUSSION: Several prediction models showed moderate performance in external validation, and the prediction models may be useful in screening for ESCC. Plastics are extensively utilized across various industries due to their affordability, chemical stability, insulation properties, durability, and resistance to water. Nowadays, plastics have become an integral part of modern society, while microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs) are rapidly accumulating in soil, which could have detrimental effects on both ecosystems and human health. This review first analyzes the latest literature on MPs, soil and plant, and analyzes the future research trends. The review encompasses the latest findings on the effects of MPs and NPs on higher plants, elucidating the mechanisms of MPs and NPs absorption by plants from the soil and their resulting phytotoxicity. Furthermore, the review underscores the imperative for further investigations aimed at comprehending the long-term repercussions of MPs and NPs on plant growth, physiology, reproduction, and their potential entry into the food chain. Notably, NPs exhibit a unique propensity to translocate via the xylem to various plant organs, including seeds, raising concerns for human health, given their heightened uptake by plant roots compared to MPs. In addition, the impacts of MPs and NPs in conjunction with other environmental contaminants might be amplified. Finally, important concerns and potential future research initiatives in the area are considered. The authors call for urgent action to address the problem of plastic pollution and suggest that a multi-disciplinary approach is needed to find solutions to this global problem. Hypothermia is commonly used to protect donor hearts during transplantation. However, patients transplanted with aged donor hearts still have severe myocardial injury and decreased survival rates, but the underlying mechanism remains unknown. Because aged hearts are not considered suitable for donation, the number of patients awaiting heart transplants is increasing. In this study, we examined whether hypothermic cardioprotection was attenuated in aged donor hearts during transplantation and evaluated potential therapeutic targets. Using a rat heart transplantation model, we found that hypothermic cardioprotection was impaired in aged donor hearts but preserved in young donor hearts. RNA-Seq showed that cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (Cirbp) expression was decreased in aged donor hearts, and these hearts showed severe ferroptosis after transplantation. The young donor hearts from Cirbp-KO rats exhibited attenuated hypothermic cardioprotection, but Cirbp overexpression in aged donor hearts ameliorated hypothermic cardioprotection. Cardiac proteomes revealed that dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) expression was significantly decreased in Cirbp-KO donor hearts during transplantation. Consequently, DHODH-mediated ubiquinone reduction was compromised, thereby exacerbating cardiac lipid peroxidation and triggering ferroptosis after transplantation. A cardioplegic solution supplemented with CIRBP agonists improved hypothermic cardioprotection in aged donor hearts, indicating that this method has the potential to broaden the indications for using aged donor hearts in transplantation. Ferula spp. are plants that produce oleo-gum-resins (OGRs), which are plant exudates with various colors. These OGRs have various industrial applications in pharmacology, perfumery, and food. The main constituents of these OGRs are terpenoids, a diverse group of organic compounds with different structures and functions. The biosynthesis of OGRs in Ferula spp., particularly galbanum, holds considerable economic and ecological importance. However, the molecular and genetic underpinnings of this biosynthetic pathway remain largely enigmatic. This review provides an overview of the current state of knowledge on the biosynthesis of OGRs in Ferula spp., highlighting the major enzymes, genes, and pathways involved in the synthesis of different terpenoid classes, such as monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and triterpenes. It also examines the potential of using omics techniques, such as transcriptomics and metabolomics, and genome editing tools, such as CRISPR/Cas, to increase the yield and quality of Ferula OGRs, as well as to create novel bioactive compounds with enhanced properties. Moreover, this review addresses the current challenges and opportunities of applying gene editing in Ferula spp., and suggests some directions for future research and development. The silkworm (Bombyx mori) is an important model lepidopteran insect and can be used to identify pesticide resistance‐related genes of great significance for biological control of pests. Uridine diphosphate glucosyltransferases (UGTs), found in all organisms, are the main secondary enzymes involved in the metabolism of heterologous substances. However, it remains uncertain if silkworm resistance to fenpropathrin involves UGT. This study observes significant variations in BmUGT expression among B. mori strains with variable fenpropathrin resistance post‐feeding, indicating BmUGT's role in fenpropathrin detoxification. Knockdown of BmUGT with RNA interference and overexpression of BmUGT significantly decreased and increased BmN cell activity, respectively, indicating that BmUGT plays an important role in the resistance of silkworms to fenpropathrin. In addition, fenpropathrin residues were significantly reduced after incubation for 12 h with different concentrations of a recombinant BmUGT fusion protein. Finally, we verified the conservation of UGT to detoxify fenpropathrin in Spodoptera exigua: Its resistance to fenpropathrin decreased significantly after knocking down SeUGT. In a word, UGT plays an important role in silkworm resistance to fenpropathrin by directly degrading the compound, a function seen across other insects. While accumulated publications support the existence of neurogenesis in the adult human hippocampus, the homeostasis and developmental potentials of neural stem cells (NSCs) under different contexts remain unclear. Based on our generated single-nucleus atlas of the human hippocampus across neonatal, adult, aging, and injury, we dissected the molecular heterogeneity and transcriptional dynamics of human hippocampal NSCs under different contexts. We further identified new specific neurogenic lineage markers that overcome the lack of specificity found in some well-known markers. Based on developmental trajectory and molecular signatures, we found that a subset of NSCs exhibit quiescent properties after birth, and most NSCs become deep quiescence during aging. Furthermore, certain deep quiescent NSCs are reactivated following stroke injury. Together, our findings provide valuable insights into the development, aging, and reactivation of the human hippocampal NSCs, and help to explain why adult hippocampal neurogenesis is infrequently observed in humans. Creep failure is one of the dominate failure mode for high temperature turbine blade during service. Under the tensile stress caused by large centrifugal force of the blade and the thermal stress and thermal softening of the material, the displacement as well as the creep strain and damage increase gradually. The present paper firstly gives the temperature field of the blade under typical service condition with numerical modelling. Then Norton’s creep constitutive relation and Lemaitre-Chaboche damage model are introduced into the finite element model, and three different working conditions are considered here to investigate its effect on creep service life of the turbine blade. Numerical results show that, the proposed numerical approach can predict the evolution of the creep process and the damage. The backreaming operation plays a significant role in safe drilling for horizontal wellbores, while it may cause severe stuck pipe accidents. To lower the risk of the stuck pipe in backreaming operations, the mechanism of cuttings transport needs to be carefully investigated. In this research, a transient cuttings transport with multiple flow patterns model is developed to predict the evolution of cuttings transported in the annulus while backreaming. The established model can provide predictions of the distribution of cuttings bed along the wellbore considering the bulldozer effect caused by large-size drilling tools (LSDTs). The sensitivity analyses of the size of LSDTs, and backreaming operating parameters are conducted in Section 4. And a new theory is proposed to explain the mechanism of cuttings transport in the backreaming operation, in which both the bit and LSDTs have the "cleaning effect" and "plugging effect". The results demonstrate that the cuttings bed in annuli is in a state of dynamic equilibrium, but the overall trend and the distribution pattern are obvious. First, larger diameters and longer drilling tools could lead to a higher risk of the stuck pipe. Second, we find that it is not the case that the higher flow rate is always better for hole cleaning, so three flow-rate intervals are discussed separately under the given conditions. When the "dangerous flow rate" (<33 L/s in Case 4) is employed, the cuttings bed completely blocks the borehole near the step surface and causes a stuck pipe directly. If the flow rate increases to the "low flow rate" interval (33e35 L/s in Case 4), a smaller flow rate instead facilitates borehole cleaning. If the flow rate is large enough to be in the "high flow rate" interval (>35 L/s in Case 4), the higher the flow rate, the better the cleaning effect of cuttings beds. Third, an interval of tripping velocity called "dangerous velocity" is proposed, in which the cuttings bed accumulation near the LSDTs is more serious than those of other tripping velocities. As long as the applied tripping velocity is not within the "dangerous velocity" (0.4e0.5 m/s in Case 5) interval in the backreaming operation, the risk of the stuck pipe can be controlled validly. Finally, through the factors analyses of the annular geometry, particle properties, and fluid properties in Section 5, it can be found that the "low flow rate", "high flow rate" and "dangers flow rate" tend to decrease and the "dangerous velocity" tends to increase with the conditions more favorable for hole cleaning. BACKGROUND: The adult mammalian heart is incapable of regeneration, whereas a transient regenerative capacity is maintained in the neonatal heart, primarily through the proliferation of preexisting cardiomyocytes. Neonatal heart regeneration after myocardial injury is accompanied by an expansion of cardiac fibroblasts and compositional changes in the extracellular matrix. Whether and how these changes influence cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart regeneration remains to be investigated. METHODS: We used apical resection and myocardial infarction surgical models in neonatal and adult mice to investigate extracellular matrix components involved in heart regeneration after injury. Single-cell RNA sequencing and liquid chromatography--mass spectrometry analyses were used for versican identification. Cardiac fibroblast--specific Vcan deletion was achieved using the mouse strains Col1a2-2A-CreER and Vcanfl/fl. Molecular signaling pathways related to the effects of versican were assessed through Western blot, immunostaining, and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Cardiac fibrosis and heart function were evaluated by Masson trichrome staining and echocardiography, respectively. RESULTS: Versican, a cardiac fibroblast--derived extracellular matrix component, was upregulated after neonatal myocardial injury and promoted cardiomyocyte proliferation. Conditional knockout of Vcan in cardiac fibroblasts decreased cardiomyocyte proliferation and impaired neonatal heart regeneration. In adult mice, intramyocardial injection of versican after myocardial infarction enhanced cardiomyocyte proliferation, reduced fibrosis, and improved cardiac function. Furthermore, versican augmented the proliferation of human induced pluripotent stem cell--derived cardiomyocytes. Mechanistically, versican activated integrin β1 and downstream signaling molecules, including ERK1/2 and Akt, thereby promoting cardiomyocyte proliferation and cardiac repair. CONCLUSIONS: Our study identifies versican as a cardiac fibroblast--derived pro-proliferative proteoglycan and clarifies the role of versican in promoting adult cardiac repair. The repair of bone defects remains a major challenge in the clinic, and treatment requires bone grafts or bone replacement materials. Existing biomaterials have many limitations and cannot meet the various needs of clinical applications. To treat bone defects, we constructed a nanohydroxyapatite (nHA)/methylacrylylated silk fibroin (MASF) composite biological scaffold using photocurable 3D printing technology. In this study, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to detect the changes in the morphological structure of the composite scaffold with different contents of nanohydroxyapatite, and FTIR was used to detect the functional groups and chemical bonds in the composite scaffold to determine the specific components of the scaffold. In in vitro experiments, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells from SD rats were cocultured with scaffolds soaking solution, and the cytotoxicity, cell proliferation, Western blot analysis, Quantitative real-time PCR analysis, bone alkaline phosphatase activity and alizarin red staining of scaffolds were detected to determine the biocompatibility of scaffolds and the effect of promoting proliferation and osteogenesis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in vitro. In the in vivo experiment, the skull defect was constructed by adult SD rats, and the scaffold was implanted into the skull defect site. After 4 weeks and 8 weeks of culture, the specific osteogenic effect of the scaffold in the skull defect site was detected by animal micro-CT, hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining and Masson's staining. Through the analysis of the morphological structure of the scaffold, we found that the frame supported good retention of the lamellar structure of silk fibroin, when mixed with nHA, the surface of the stent was rougher, the cell contact area increased, and cell adhesion and lamellar microstructure for cell migration and proliferation of the microenvironment provided a better space. FTIR results showed that the scaffold completely retained the β -folded structure of silk fibroin, and the scaffold composite was present without obvious impurities. The staining results of live/dead cells showed that the constructed scaffolds had no significant cytotoxicity, and thw CCK-8 assay also showed that the constructed scaffolds had good biocompatibility. The results of osteogenic induction showed that the scaffold had good osteogenic induction ability. Moreover, the results also showed that the scaffold with a MASF: nHA ratio of 1: 0.5 (SFH) showed better osteogenic ability. The micro-CT and bone histometric results were consistent with the in vitro results after stent implantation, and there was more bone formation at the bone defect site in the SFH group.This research used photocurable 3D printing technology to successfully build an osteogenesis bracket. The results show that the constructed nHA/MASF biological composite material, has good biocompatibility and good osteogenesis function. At the same time, in the microenvironment, the material can also promote bone defect repair and can potentially be used as a bone defect filling material for bone regeneration applications. Extracellular signals are transmitted through kinase cascades to modulate gene expression, but it remains unclear how epigenetic changes regulate this response. Here, we provide evidence that growth factor-stimulated changes in the transcript levels of many responsive genes are accompanied by increases in histone phosphorylation levels, specifically at histone H3 serine-10 when the adjacent lysine-9 is dimethylated (H3K9me2S10). Imaging and proteomic approaches show that epidermal growth factor (EGF) stimulation results in H3K9me2S10 phosphorylation, which occurs in genomic regions enriched for regulatory enhancers of EGF-responsive genes. We also demonstrate that the EGF-induced increase in H3K9me2S10ph is dependent on the nuclear kinase MSK2, and this subset of EGF-induced genes is dependent on MSK2 for transcription. Aristolochic acid nephropathy (AAN) is a progressive kidney disease caused by herbal medicines. Proline-serine-threonine phosphatase-interacting protein 2 (PSTPIP2) and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) play important roles in kidney injury and immune defense, respectively, but the mechanism underlying AAN regulation by PSTPIP2 and NETs remains unclear. We found that renal tubular epithelial cell (RTEC) apoptosis, neutrophil infiltration, inflammatory factor, and NET production were increased in a mouse model of AAN, while PSTPIP2 expression was low. Conditional knock-in of Pstpip2 in mouse kidneys inhibited cell apoptosis, reduced neutrophil infiltration, suppressed the production of inflammatory factors and NETs, and ameliorated renal dysfunction. Conversely, downregulation of Pstpip2 expression promoted kidney injury. In vivo, the use of Ly6G-neutralizing antibody to remove neutrophils and peptidyl arginine deiminase 4 (PAD4) inhibitors to prevent NET formation reduced apoptosis, alleviating kidney injury. In vitro, damaged RTECs released interleukin-19 (IL-19) via the PSTPIP2/nuclear factor (NF)-κB pathway and induced NET formation via the IL-20Rβ receptor. Concurrently, NETs promoted apoptosis of damaged RTECs. PSTPIP2 affected NET formation by regulating IL-19 expression via inhibition of NF-κB pathway activation in RTECs, inhibiting RTEC apoptosis, and reducing kidney damage. Our findings indicated that neutrophils and NETs play a key role in AAN and therapeutic targeting of PSTPIP2/NF-κB/IL-19/IL-20Rβ might extend novel strategies to minimize Aristolochic acid I-mediated acute kidney injury and apoptosis. Background & Aims: The incidence and mortality of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are increasing. It is urgent to develop more effective HCC biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment. This project intends to verify the expression of enhancer of zeste 1 polycomb repressive complex 2 subunit (EZH1) and its mechanism in HCC. Methods: This study integrates global microarray and high-throughput sequencing datasets, combined with internal immunohistochemistry, to analyze the expression and prognostic value of EZH1 in HCC. Functional enrichment analysis was conducted to investigate transcriptional targets, which were achieved by intersecting HCC over-expressed genes, EZH1 co-expressed genes and putative transcriptional targets. The relationship between EZH1 and anticancer drugs was detected by drug sensitivity analysis. Results: In this study, 84 datasets from 40 platforms (3,926 HCC samples and 3,428 non-cancerous liver tissues) were included to show the high expression of EZH1 in HCC. Immunohistochemistry with 159 HCC samples and 62 non-HCC samples confirmed the high expression level. HCC patients with high EZH1 expression had worse survival prognoses. Gene ontology and Reactome analysis revealed that metabolism-related pathways, including autophagy, are critical for HCC. Interestingly, as one of the EZH1 potential transcriptional targets, autophagy-related 7 (ATG7) appeared in the above pathways. ATG7 was positively correlated with EZH1, upregulated in HCC, and mediated poor prognosis. Upregulation of EZH1 was found to be in contact with HCC anti-tumor drug resistance. Conclusions: The upregulation of EZH1 expression can promote the occurrence of HCC and lead to poor clinical progression and drug resistance; these effects may be mediated by regulating ATG7. Objective: Vanin-1 (VNN1) is a pantetheinase that catalyses the hydrolysis of pantetheine to produce pantothenic acid and cysteamine. Our previous studies have shown that the VNN1 is specifically expressed in chicken liver which negatively regulated by microRNA-122. However, the functions of the VNN1 in lipid metabolism in chicken liver haven’t been elucidated. Methods: First, we detected the VNN1 mRNA expression in 4-week chickens which were fasted 24 hours. Next, knocked out VNN1 via CRISPR/Cas9 system in the chicken Leghorn Male Hepatoma cell line. Detected the lipid deposition via oil red staining and analysis the content of triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein-C (LDL-C), and highdensity lipoprotein-C (HDL-C) after VNN1 knockout in Leghorn Male Hepatoma cell line. Then we captured various differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between VNN1- modified LMH cells and original LMH cells by RNA-seq. Results: Firstly, fasting-induced expression of VNN1. Meanwhile, we successfully used the CRISPR/Cas9 system to achieve targeted mutations of the VNN1 in the chicken LMH cell line. Moreover, the expression level of VNN1 mRNA in LMH-KO-VNN1 cells decreased compared with that in the wild-type LMH cells (p<0.0001). Compared with control, lipid deposition was decreased after knockout VNN1 via oil red staining, meanwhile, the contents of TG and LDL-C were significantly reduced, and the content of HDL-C was increased in LMH-KO-VNN1 cells. Transcriptome sequencing showed that there were 1,335 DEGs between LMH-KO-VNN1 cells and original LMH cells. Of these DEGs, 431 were upregulated, and 904 were downregulated. Gene ontology analyses of all DEGs showed that the lipid metabolism-related pathways, such as fatty acid biosynthesis and long-chain fatty acid biosynthesis, were enriched. KEGG pathway analyses showed that “lipid metabolism pathway”, “energy metabolism”, and “carbohydrate metabolism” were enriched. A total of 76 DEGs were involved in these pathways, of which 29 genes were upregulated (such as cytochrome P450 family 7 subfamily A member 1, ELOVL fatty acid elongase 2, and apolipoprotein A4) and 47 genes were downregulated (such as phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1) by VNN1 knockout in the LMH cells. Purpose: To assess outcomes of bilateral single-session percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) with minimally invasive techniques in pediatric population. Materials and Methods: From August 2015 to July 2021, 45 children (including 12 infants) were treated with bilateral single-session PCNL, which included miniPCNL (12-16-Fr) and Microperc (4.8-Fr). Patient, stone and operation-related characteristics, stone-free rate (SFR) and complication rate (CR) were compared using ANOVA. Independent predictors were determined using multivariate linear regression. Results: The mean stone burden was 3.2 cm in sum diameter for both kidneys. For bilateral kidneys, the mean operative time was 61.6min and SFR was 93.3%; CR was 53.3%, of which complications of Clavien grade 1 and 2 accounted for 46.7%. Bilateral Microperc, bilateral miniPCNL and Microperc plus miniPCNL was performed in 19, 14 and 12 children respectively. Both irrigation volume and postoperative stay were less in groups with Microperc. Both SFRs and CRs were satisfactory for the three groups. Self-limiting hematuria represented the most common complication of all cases (33.3%), especially in groups with miniPCNL. The stone burden was the only independent predictor for operative time (P < .001) and the postoperative complication (P = .008). Children with older age (P = .009), higher body mass index (P = .016) or a higher stone burden (P < .001) received larger irrigated fluid volume. Microperc was associated with less irrigated fluid volume (P = .001). Children with Clavien grade 3 complications (P = .004) spent prolonged postoperative hospital stay. Conclusion: With favourable SFR and acceptable CR, bilateral single-session PCNL with minimally invasive techniques might be an effective and safe procedure for pediatric nephrolithiasis. The defense system of teleost fish organized on innate and adaptive immunity protects them against a wide variety of pathogenic microorganisms in the aquatic environment. Phagocytosis is one of the most effective defense strategies against microbial challenge mainly performed by classical 'professional' phagocytes (including monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes). They contain, kill and process the internalized pathogens for antigen presentation by providing antigenic ligands to initiate activation and clonal expansion of T and B cells, which bridge the innate and adaptive immunity. The discovery of phagocytic B cells in teleost fish has broken the paradigm that primary vertebrate B cells are lack of phagocytosis of particulates, as well as led to the investigation of phagocytic activity of mammalian B-1 B cells. The active phagocytic, microbicidal capabilities and antigen presentation in teleost phagocytic B cell have demonstrated to be similar as professional phagocytes, providing a potential impact on development of new vaccination strategies to prevent and control infectious diseases. In this review, we aim to address current progress on the antimicrobial role of phagocytic B cells in teleost fish by comparing it with other professional phagocytes and mammalian B-1 B cells, and provide the application prospect of phagocytic B cells in developing vaccines as well as the prevention of fish diseases. Vitiligo has a significant impact on a substantial number of individuals worldwide. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of serving as a therapeutic treatment for vitiligo. Nevertheless, given the increasing volume of research on the utilization of traditional Chinese medicine for vitiligo treatment, it is imperative to conduct a comprehensive review that elucidates the efficacy of Chinese traditional medicine and other active ingredients in the treatment of vitiligo. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the clinical preparations used to treat vitiligo, while also highlighting the potential monomers and extracts derived from traditional Chinese medicine for vitiligo treatment. A thorough analysis of the pharmacological effects of traditional Chinese medicine on vitiligo treatment will provide valuable insights and reliable information for the development of new treatment strategies. Stroke, the second-largest cause of death and the leading cause of disability globally, presents significant challenges in terms of prognosis and treatment. Identifying reliable prognosis biomarkers and treatment targets is crucial to address these challenges. Circular RNA (circRNA) has emerged as a promising research biomarkers and therapeutic targets because of its tissue specificity and conservation. However, the potential role of circRNA in stroke prognosis and treatment remains largely unexplored. This review briefly elucidate the mechanism underlying circRNA's involvement in stroke pathophysiology. Additionally, this review summarizes the impact of circRNA on different forms of strokes, including ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. And, this article discusses the positive effects of circRNA on promoting cerebrovascular repair and regeneration, maintaining the integrity of the blood-brain barrier (BBB), and reducing neuronal injury and immune inflammatory response. Neurons in the subthalamic nucleus (STN) become hyperactive following nerve injury and promote pain-related responses in mice. Considering that the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is involved in pain and emotion processing and projects to the STN, we hypothesize that ACC neurons may contribute to hyperactivity in STN neurons in chronic pain. In the present study, we showed that ACC neurons enhanced activity in response to noxious stimuli and to alterations in emotional states and became hyperactive in chronic pain state established by spared nerve injury of the sciatic nerve (SNI) in mice. In naïve mice, STN neurons were activated by noxious stimuli, but not by alterations in emotional states. Pain responses in STN neurons were attenuated in both naïve and SNI mice when ACC neurons were inhibited. Furthermore, optogenetic activation of the ACC-STN pathway induced bilateral hyperalgesia and depression-like behaviors in naive mice; conversely, inhibition of this pathway is sufficient to attenuate hyperalgesia and depression-like behaviors in SNI mice and naïve mice subjected to stimulation of STN neurons. Finally, mitigation of pain-like and depression-like behaviors in SNI mice by inhibition of the ACC-STN projection was eliminated by activation of STN neurons. Our results demonstrate that hyperactivity in the ACC-STN pathway may be an important pathophysiology in comorbid chronic pain and depression. Thus, the ACC-STN pathway may be an intervention target for the treatment of the comorbid chronic pain and depression. In recent years, the field of microplastic (MP) research has evolved significantly; however, the lack of a standardized detection methodology has led to incomparability across studies. Addressing this gap, our current study innovates a reliable MP detection system that synergizes sample processing, machine learning, and optical photothermal infrared (O-PTIR) spectroscopy. This approach includes examining high-temperature filtration and alcohol treatment for reducing non-MP particles and utilizing a support vector machine (SVM) classifier focused on key wavenumbers that could discriminate between nylon MPs and non-nylon MPs (1077, 1541, 1635, 1711 cm−1 were selected based on the feature importance of SVM-Full wavenumber model) for enhanced MP identification. The SVM model built from key wavenumbers demonstrates a high accuracy rate of 91.33%. Results show that alcohol treatment is effective in minimizing non-MP particles, while filtration at 70 °C has limited impact. Additionally, this method was applied to assess MPs released from commercial nylon teabags, revealing an average release of 106 particles per teabag. This research integrates machine learning with O-PTIR spectroscopy, paving the way for potential standardization in MP detection methodologies and providing vital insights into their environmental and health implications. SO2 (Sulfur dioxide) is the major precursor to the production of sulfuric acid (H2SO4), contributing to acid rain and atmospheric aerosols. Sulfuric acid formed from SO2 generates light-reflecting sulfate aerosol particles in the atmosphere. This property has prompted recent geoengineering proposals to inject sulfuric acid or its precursors into the Earth’s atmosphere to increase the planetary albedo to counteract global warming. SO2 oxidation in the atmosphere by the hydroxyl radical HO to form HOSO2 is a key rate-limiting step in the mechanism for forming acid rain. However, the dynamics of the HO + SO2 → HOSO2 reaction and its slow rate in the atmosphere are poorly understood to date. Herein, we use photoelectron spectroscopy of cryogenically cooled HOSO2-anion to access the neutral HOSO2 radical near the transition state of the HO+SO2 reaction. Spectroscopic and dynamic calculations are conducted on the first ab initio-based full-dimensional potential energy surface to interpret the photoelectron spectra of HOSO2-and to probe the dynamics of the HO + SO2 reaction. In addition to the finding of a unique pre-reaction complex (HO⋯SO2) directly connected to the transition state, dynamic calculations reveal that the accessible phase space for the HO + SO2 → HOSO2 reaction is extremely narrow, forming a key reaction bottleneck and slowing the reaction rate in the atmosphere, despite the low reaction barrier. This study underlines the importance of understanding the full multidimensional potential energy surface to elucidate the dynamics of complex bimolecular reactions involving polyatomic reactants. Liver can sense the nutrient status and send signals to other organs to regulate overall metabolic homoeostasis. Herein, we demonstrate that ketone bodies act as signals released from the liver that specifically determine the distribution of excess lipid in epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT) when exposed to a ketogenic diet (KD). An acute KD can immediately result in excess lipid deposition in the liver. Subsequently, the liver sends the ketone body β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) to regulate white adipose expansion, including adipogenesis and lipogenesis, to alleviate hepatic lipid accumulation. When ketone bodies are depleted by deleting 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA synthase 2 gene in the liver, the enhanced lipid deposition in eWAT but not in inguinal white adipose tissue is preferentially blocked, while lipid accumulation in liver is not alleviated. Mechanistically, ketone body BHB can significantly decrease lysine acetylation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma in eWAT, causing enhanced activity of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, the key adipogenic transcription factor. These observations suggest that the liver senses metabolic stress first and sends a corresponding signal, that is, ketone body BHB, to specifically promote eWAT expansion to adapt to metabolic challenges. Esophageal cancer (EC) is an aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. Various factors, including dietary habits, and antacid and antibiotic use, have been shown to influence the esophageal microbiome. Conversely, enrichment and diversity of the esophageal microbiome can also impact its function. Recent studies have revealed prevalent changes in the esophageal microbiome among patients with EC, thus suggesting the potential contribution of the esophageal microbiome to EC development. Additionally, distinct microbiome compositions have been observed in patients with different responses to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, indicating the role of the esophageal microbiome in modulating treatment outcomes. In this review, we have examined previous studies on the esophageal microbiome in healthy individuals and patients with EC or other esophageal diseases, with a focus on identifying microbial communities associated with EC pathogenesis and prognosis. Sustained cardiac hypertrophy damages the heart and weakens cardiac function, often leading to heart failure and even death. Pathological cardiac hypertrophy has become a central therapeutic target for many heart diseases including heart failure. However, the underlying mechanisms of cardiac hypertrophy, especially the involvement of autophagy program, are still ill‐understood. Synaptotagmin‐7 (Syt7), a multifunctional and high‐affinity calcium sensor, plays a pivotal role in asynchronous neurotransmitter release, synaptic facilitation, and vesicle pool regulation during synaptic transmission. However, little is known about whether Syt7 is expressed in the myocardium and involved in the pathogenesis of heart diseases. Here we showed that Syt7 was significantly upregulated in Ang II‐treated hearts and cardiomyocytes. Homozygous syt7 knockout (syt7−/−) mice exhibited significantly attenuated cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis and improved cardiac function. We further found that Syt7 exerted a pro‐hypertrophic effect by suppressing the autophagy process. In exploring the upstream mechanisms, microRNA (miR)‐93 was identified to participate in the regulation of Syt7 expression. miR‐93 protected hearts against Ang II‐induced hypertrophy through targeting Syt7‐autophagy pathway. In summary, our data reveal a new cardiac hypertrophy regulator and a novel hypertrophy regulating model composed of miR‐93, Syt7 and autophagy program.
