The Farm Animal Genotype-Tissue Expression (FarmGTEx) project has been established to develop a public resource of genetic regulatory variants in livestock, which is essential for linking genetic polymorphisms to variation in phenotypes, helping fundamental biological discovery and exploitation in animal breeding and human biomedicine. Here we show results from the pilot phase of PigGTEx by processing 5,457 RNA-sequencing and 1,602 whole-genome sequencing samples passing quality control from pigs. We build a pig genotype imputation panel and associate millions of genetic variants with five types of transcriptomic phenotypes in 34 tissues. We evaluate tissue specificity of regulatory effects and elucidate molecular mechanisms of their action using multi-omics data. Leveraging this resource, we decipher regulatory mechanisms underlying 207 pig complex phenotypes and demonstrate the similarity of pigs to humans in gene expression and the genetic regulation behind complex phenotypes, supporting the importance of pigs as a human biomedical model.

Objective To compare the clinical effects of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) between the left anterior small thoracotomy (LAST) and lower-end sternal splitting (LESS) approaches for coronary artery disease. Methods In total, 110 patients who underwent LAST from October 2015 to December 2020 in Tianjin Chest Hospital were selected as the observation group. Patients who underwent the LESS approach during the same period were analyzed. The propensity score was calculated by a logistic regression model, and nearest-neighbor matching was used for 1:1 matching. Results The length of hospital stay and ventilator support time were significantly shorter in the LAST than LESS group. The target vessels in the obtuse marginal branch and posterior left ventricular artery branch grafts were significantly more numerous in the LAST than LESS group, but those in the right coronary artery graft were significantly less numerous in the LAST group. Conclusions CABG using either the LAST or LESS approach is safe and effective, especially in low-risk patients. The LAST approach can achieve complete revascularization for multivessel lesions and has the advantages of less trauma and an aesthetic outcome. However, it requires a certain learning curve to master the surgical techniques and has specific surgical indications.

The hot compression tests (T = 850–1100 °C, ε˙ = 0.1–10 s−1) of Cu–Cr–Ni bridge weathering steel with different Cr content (0.46% (#1), 0.64% (#2)) were performed on Gleeble‐3800‐D thermomechanical simulator. The effects of Cr content on hot deformation and microstructure evolution are systematically investigated by the Arrhenius constitutive equation, processing map, electron backscatter diffraction technology, and transmission electron microscope. In the results, it is demonstrated that the increase of Cr content from 0.46% to 0.64% enhances the solution strengthening and inhibits the dynamic recrystallization of the experimental steels during hot compression, resulting in the increase of flow stress. The Arrhenius constitutive equation with strain compensation is constructed. The increase of Cr content results in an augmentation of hot deformation activation energy, rising from Q#1 = 358.47 kJ mol−1 to Q#2 = 396.79 kJ mol−1, causing the increase of deformation resistance of Cu–Cr–Ni bridge weathering steel in hot compression. The optimal hot processing window of #1 and #2 experimental steels is as follows: ε˙ = 0.1–0.2 s−1, T = 1050–1100 °C, ε˙ = 0.1–0.15 s−1, and T = 1050–1100 °C, the increase of Cr content leads to the narrowing of the hot processing window of the experimental steels. Oil extraction is shifting towards high-temperature and high-pressure environments, which leads to the deterioration of the rubber material used in packer rubber cylinders, ultimately resulting in sealing failure. Hence, we propose enhancing the configuration of the rubber cylinder by incorporating a composite material consisting of metal and rubber. Additionally, we suggest integrating springs at the shoulders to fabricate a spring-embedded shoulder protection packer rubber cylinder. ABAQUS 2023 software was employed to simulate the packer setting process, investigating the variations in compression distance between a conventional packer rubber cylinder and a spring-embedded shoulder protection packer rubber cylinder. The results showed that at 25 °C and 177 °C, the compression distance of the fully seated spring-embedded shoulder protection packer rubber cylinder was reduced by 3% compared to the traditional packer rubber, Mises stress was reduced by 14%, and the sealing performance evaluation coefficient K of the rubber cylinder was increased by 2% to 10%.The stress in the spring-embedded shoulder protection packer rubber cylinder is primarily concentrated between the spring and the wire mesh, effectively ensuring the performance of the rubber cylinder and mitigating any potential decrease in sealing performance caused by internal stress concentration. The spring-embedded protective rubber cylinder will not experience shoulder protrusion during the sealing process. The incorporation of a spring-embedded shoulder protection mechanism in the packer rubber cylinder enhances the contact stress between the rubber cylinder and casing tube, mitigates stress concentration within the rubber cylinder, resolves shoulder protrusion issues, and ultimately improves both sealing performance and service life. Existing methods of hyperspectral anomaly detection still face several challenges: (1) Due to the limitations of self-supervision, avoiding the identity mapping of anomalies remains difficult; (2) the ineffective interaction between spatial and spectral features leads to the insufficient utilization of spatial information; and (3) current methods are not adaptable to the detection of multi-scale anomaly targets. To address the aforementioned challenges, we proposed a blind-spot network based on multi-scale blind-spot convolution for HAD. The multi-scale mask convolution module is employed to adapt to diverse scales of anomaly targets, while the dynamic fusion module is introduced to integrate the advantages of mask convolutions at different scales. The proposed approach includes a spatial–spectral joint module and a background feature attention mechanism to enhance the interaction between spatial–spectral features, with a specific emphasis on highlighting the significance of background features within the network. Furthermore, we propose a preprocessing technique that combines pixel shuffle down-sampling (PD) with spatial spectral joint screening. This approach addresses anomalous identity mapping and enables finite-scale mask convolution for better detection of targets at various scales. The proposed approach was assessed on four real hyperspectral datasets comprising anomaly targets of different scales. Introduction: Hypertension can accelerate and aggravate the process of arterial ageing and calcification. However, the mechanism behind has yet to be well elucidated. Methods: Here, we monitored the dynamic changes of fibronectin (FN)/α5 integrin, bone morphogenetic protein 2/matrix Gla protein (BMP2/MGP), and Runx2 in the aorta of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) and thoracic aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), also the phenotypic transformation of VSMCs during the process of arterial ageing and calcification. Further, study on arterial ageing and calcification through antagonist experiments at the molecular level was explored. Results: We found extracellular FN and its α5 integrin receptor expressions were positively associated with arterial ageing and calcification in SHR during ageing, as well in VSMCs from SHR in vitro. Integrin receptor inhibitor of GRGDSP would delay this arterial ageing and calcification process. Moreover, the elevated FN and α5 integrin receptor expression evoked the disequilibrium of BMP2/MGP, where the expression of BMP2, a potent osteogenic inducer, increased while MGP, a calcification inhibitor, decreased. Furthermore, it was followed by the upregulation of Runx2 and the phenotypic transformation of VSMCs from the contractile phenotype into the osteoblast-like cells. Notably, BMP2 antagonist of rmNoggin was sufficient to ameliorate the ageing and calcification process of VSMCs and exogenous BMP2-adding accelerate and aggregate the process. Conclusion: Our study revealed that hypertension-associated arterial ageing and calcification might be a consequence that hypertension up-regulated FN and its high binding affinity integrin α5 receptor in the aortic wall, which in turn aggravated the imbalance of BMP2/MGP, promoted the transcription of Runx2, and induced the phenotypic transformation of VSMCs from the contractile phenotype into the osteoblast-like cells. Our study would provide insights into hypertension-associated arterial ageing and calcification and shed new light on the control of arterial calcification, especially for those with hypertension. Rare earth ions with d-f transitions (Ce3+, Eu2+) have emerged as promising candidates for electroluminescence applications due to their abundant emission spectra, high light conversion efficiency, and excellent stability. However, directly injecting charge into 4f orbitals remains a significant challenge, resulting in unsatisfied external quantum efficiency and high operating voltage in rare earth light-emitting diodes. Herein, we propose a scheme to solve the difficulty by utilizing the energy transfer process. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transient absorption spectra suggest that the Cs3CeI6 luminescence process is primarily driven by the energy transfer from the I2-based self-trapped exciton to the Ce-based Frenkel exciton. Furthermore, energy transfer efficiency is largely improved by enhancing the spectra overlap between the self-trapped exciton emission and the Ce-based Frenkel exciton excitation. When implemented as an active layer in light-emitting diodes, they show the maximum brightness and external quantum efficiency of 1073 cd m−2 and 7.9%, respectively. Rare-earth metal halide perovskites are promising for deep blue LEDs. Here, Yang et al. report energy transfer between self-trapped exciton and Frenkel exciton in Cs3CeI6 by adding excess CsI during thermal evaporation, resulting in deep blue LEDs with external quantum efficiency of 7.9% at 424 nm. Due to the widespread applications of change detection technology in urban change analysis, environmental monitoring, agricultural surveillance, disaster detection, and other domains, the task of change detection has become one of the primary applications of Earth orbit satellite remote sensing data. However, the analysis of dual-temporal change detection (CD) remains a challenge in high-resolution optical remote sensing images due to the complexities in remote sensing images, such as intricate textures, seasonal variations in imaging time, climatic differences, and significant differences in the sizes of various objects. In this paper, we propose a novel U-shaped architecture for change detection. In the encoding stage, a multi-branch feature extraction module is employed by combining CNN and transformer networks to enhance the network's perception capability for objects of varying sizes. Furthermore, a multi-branch aggregation module is utilized to aggregate features from different branches, providing the network with global attention while preserving detailed information. For dual-temporal features, we introduce a spatiotemporal discrepancy perception module to model the context of dual-temporal images. Particularly noteworthy is the construction of channel attention and token attention modules based on the transformer attention mechanism to facilitate information interaction between multi-level features, thereby enhancing the network's contextual awareness. The effectiveness of the proposed network is validated on three public datasets, demonstrating its superior performance over other state-of-the-art methods through qualitative and quantitative experiments. Aims: To investigate the roles of neurotrophic factors on cognition in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) carrying Apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4. Methods: Totals of 173 patients with AD were divided into APOE ε4 carrier and non‐carrier groups, and their demographics, cognition, and neurotrophic factors in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were compared. Multiple linear regression analyses were performed to assess correlations among APOE ε4, neurotrophic factors and cognition. Mediation analyses were conducted to assess the sequential associations among APOE ε4, nerve growth factor (NGF), and cognition. Results: Global cognition and multiple domains were impaired in the APOE ε4 carrier group (all p < 0.05). NGF level in the APOE ε4 carrier group was lower than that in the non‐carrier group (p = 0.016). NGF level showed significant correlations with both global and multiple domains cognitions. Specifically, NGF mediated the association between APOE ε4 and Animal Fluency Test score (β, −0.45; 95% CI [−0.96, −0.07]; p < 0.001) and Trail Making Test‐A (time) (β, 0.15; 95% CI [0.01, 0.33]; p < 0.001). Conclusion: APOE ε4 is associated with cognitive impairment, and those carrying APOE ε4 have decreased NGF level in CSF. Declined NGF level is correlated with compromised cognition. The synergy enhancement of magnetic-spatial confinement using a bar magnet pair was applied to fiber-optic laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (FO-LIBS). By studying the plasma morphology and emission spectroscopy, the plasma temporal behaviors under free expansion, spatial confinement, and magnetic-spatial confinement have been carefully compared. Temperature distribution and pixel-to-pixel relative standard deviation (RSD) of plasma morphology under the combined effect of magnetic field and the reflected shock wave on fiber-optic laser-induced plasma were studied for the first time. The magnetic field was found to deform the plume mainly at the left and right sides, and the two high-intensity areas in FO-LIBS plasma rose from 8.7% to 13.8% and resisted being compressed together after the shock wave reflected. The magnetic-spatial confinements also demonstrated better enhancements in emission spectra than only spatial confinement, and the magnetic field tended to give around 20% and 50% additional enhancement on line intensity at the early and later stages of evolution, respectively. Besides, the self-reversed effect was significantly reduced in magnetic-spatial confinement, which can be explained by more evenly distributed temperatures calculated by spatially resolved spectra. Pixel-to-pixel RSD distribution of plasma morphology was studied, and it was found that the area of more fluctuated parts was reduced by 40% and concentrated on the left and right sides of the plasma in the magnetic field at the early stage. After the shock wave passed through, the two high-intensity areas were observed to fluctuate less due to the compression of the shock wave. Furthermore, shot-to-shot spectra fluctuation was also reduced by up to 50% under the magnetic-spatial confinement, which is consistent with the results of plasma morphology fluctuation.
