Financial reporting is a snapshot of the business activities and financial status of companies and is widely used for various purposes by different stakeholders, including insiders and outsiders of the company. The quality and relevance of the financial reporting made by the company’s managers with mixed incentives largely influenced investment decision-making, resulting in information asymmetry in the capital market. The financial statement analysis (FSA) plays an important part to mitigate the information gap and assists investors in making unbiased investment decisions, which consists of four parts: business strategy analysis, accounting analysis, financial analysis and prospective analysis. This paper analyses inside information from Pfizer Inc. using FSA based on the financial reporting from the financial year of 2019 to 2022 (FY2019 to FY2022) in conjunction with other supplement materials. This paper finds Pfizer primarily takes the product differentiation strategy as its key profit driver, and the related accounting policies and estimations generally reflect the economic reality. The short-term liquidity of Pfizer should be enhanced, and the firm’s market value is overvalued compared to its intrinsic value on December 20, 2022.

During the cruise status of an underwater high-speed vehicle, the flow around the vehicle's head typically transitions from a laminar to a turbulent state, triggering flow noise that can interfere with the normal operation of sonar. In order to accurately investigate this flow noise through numerical simulation, a high-fidelity turbulent flow field solution is essential. Common traditional turbulence numerical simulation methods, such as unsteady Reynolds-averaged simulation and large eddy simulation (LES), struggle to capture high-frequency turbulent fluctuations accurately due to their inability to directly resolve small-scale eddy structures, which results in compromising the simulation accuracy of high-frequency flow noise. To address this issue, this paper employs direct numerical simulation (DNS) to achieve high-fidelity resolution of the turbulent flow field, thereby enabling a more accurate assessment of flow noise distribution on the vehicle's surface. Meanwhile, considering significant computational resources required to solve the entire flow field in an underwater high Reynolds number environment, this study also incorporates the fixed transition modeling method and stability theory to confine the DNS computational domain to the vicinity of the transitional zone to improve simulation efficiency. Comparative analysis of flow noise monitoring results in the laminar, transitional, and turbulent zones revealed that the flow noise source in the laminar zone exhibits the lowest amplitude across all frequencies, while the flow noise source in the transitional zone features the highest amplitude, approximately 10 dB higher than that in the turbulent zone. Moreover, significant amplitudes in high-frequency components (above 30 kHz) are detected in both the transition and turbulent zones. Additionally, this study employs LES with the Smagorinsky model to simulate the flow field within the same computational domain as DNS, demonstrating the limitations of the Smagorinsky model-based LES in capturing high-frequency flow noise. Melt treatment is well known to have an important influence on the properties of metallic glasses (MGs). However, for the MGs quenched from different melt temperatures with a quartz tube, the underlying physical origin responsible for the variation of properties remains poorly understood. In the present work, we systematically studied the influence of melt treatment on the thermal properties of a Zr50Cu36Al14 glass-forming alloy and unveiled the microscopic origins. Specifically, we quenched the melt at different temperatures ranging from 1.1 T l to 1.5 T l (T l is the liquidus temperature) to obtain melt-spun MG ribbons and investigated the variation of thermal properties of the MGs upon heating. We found that glass transition temperature, T g, increases by as much as 36 K, and the supercooled liquid region disappears in the curve of differential scanning calorimetry when the melt is quenched at a high temperature up to 1.5 T l. The careful chemical analyses indicate that the change in glass transition behavior originates from the incorporation of oxygen and silicon in the molten alloys. The incorporated oxygen and silicon can both enhance the interactions between atoms, which renders the cooperative rearrangements of atoms difficult, and thus enhances the kinetic stability of the MGs. Betel palm is one of the most economically important crops in Southeast Asia. The occurrence and expansion of yellow leaf disease (YLD) have significantly impacted betel palm plantations. Our previous research demonstrated that areca palm velarivirus 1 (APV1) was associated with YLD and transmitted by Ferrisia virgata (striped mealybug), causing YLD in betel palms. This finding provides strong etiological evidence of the role played by APV1 in YLD. Controlling YLD is a pressing issue with significant challenges. One viable approach is to prevent the virus from spreading by disrupting the transmission vectors. Therefore, it is imperative to identify potential vectors of APV1. In this study, we detected APV1 in the stylet, foregut, midgut, and hindgut of Pseudococcus cryptus (cryptic mealybug) using immunocapture RT-PCR and in situ immunofluorescence localization. P. cryptus transmitted APV1 in a non-circulative, semi-persistent manner. The retention time of APV1 in P. cryptus was notably longer than that in F. virgata. Additionally, field investigations revealed that three other insects infesting betel palms also carried APV1. In summary, APV1 may also be transmitted by other mealybug species, and the lower specificity of transmission vectors makes it challenging to control the spread of this devastating disease. To evaluate the prognostic value of the systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII) for predicting in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and establish a relevant nomogram. Methods: This study included 954 AMI patients. We examined three inflammatory factors (SII, platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR)) to see which one predicts in-hospital MACEs better. The predictors were subsequently screened using bidirectional stepwise regression method, and a MACE nomogram was constructed via logistic regression analysis. The predictive value of the model was evaluated using the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity and specificity. In addition, the clinical utility of the nomogram was evaluated using decision curve analysis. We also compared the nomogram with the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events (GRACE) scoring system. Results: 334 (35.0%) patients had MACEs. The SII (AUC =0.684) had a greater predictive value for in-hospital MACEs in AMI patients than the PLR (AUC =0.597, P< 0.001) or NLR (AUC=0.654, P=0.01). The area under the curve (AUC) of the SII-based multivariable model for predicting MACEs, which was based on the SII, Killip classification, left ventricular ejection fraction, age, urea nitrogen (BUN) concentration and electrocardiogram-based diagnosis, was 0.862 (95% CI: 0.833– 0.891). Decision curve and calibration curve analysis revealed that SII-based multivariable model demonstrated a good fit and calibration and provided positive net benefits than the model without SII. The predictive value of the SII-based multivariable model was greater than that of the GRACE scoring system (P< 0.001). Conclusion: SII is a promising, reliable biomarker for identifying AMI patients at high risk of in-hospital MACEs, and SII-based multivariable model may serve as a quick and easy tool to identify these patients. Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus)-induced bone loss is a significant challenge in the treatment of osteomyelitis. Our previous study was the first to confirm that granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) mediates S. aureus-induced bone loss. However, the underlying mechanism remains unknown. The objective of this study was to elucidate this. We found G-CSF mediated BMSC senescence and increased IL-1β concentration of serum and bone marrow in mice after S. aureus infection. Furthermore, we demonstrated that G-CSF promoted the expression of IL1b in murine bone marrow-derived neutrophils. Notably, we identified that IL-1β mediated BMSC (bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cell) senescence in mice after S. aureus infection. Importantly, IL-1β neutralizing antibody effectively alleviated BMSC senescence and bone loss caused by S. aureus infection in mice. In terms of molecular mechanism, we found IL-1β induced BMSC senescence by JNK/P53 and JNK/BCL2 pathways. Collectively, G-CSF promotes IL-1β production which induces BMSC senescence via JNK/P53 and JNK/BCL2 pathways, leading to S. aureus-induced bone loss. Microplastics, such as polylactic acid (PLA), are ubiquitous environmental pollutants with unclear implications for health impact. This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms of PLA-induced inflammatory liver injury, focusing on disturbance of bile acid metabolism. The in vitro PLA exposure experiment was conducted using HepG2 cells to assess cell viability, cytokine secretion, and effects on bile acid metabolism. In vivo, male C57BL/6 J mice were exposed to PLA for ten days continuously, liver function and histopathological assessment were evaluated after the mice sacrificed. Molecular analyses including quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and Western blotting, were applied to evaluate the expression of bile acid metabolizing enzymes and transporters. PLA exposure resulted in decreased cell viability in HepG2 cells, increased inflammation and altered bile acid metabolism. In mice, PLA exposure resulted in decreased body weight and food intake, impaired liver function, increased hepatic inflammation, altered bile acid profiles, and dysregulated expression of bile acid metabolic pathways. PLA exposure disrupts bile acid metabolism through inhibition of the CYP7A1 enzyme and activation of the FGF-JNK/ERK signaling pathway, contributing to liver injury. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the differences in clinical features, diagnostic examination, treatment, and pathological results between adult-onset and pediatric-onset tethered cord syndrome (TCS)., Methods: The authors searched the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases through January 2023 for reports on TCS, extracting information on clinical features, imaging data, treatment modalities, prognosis, and pathological research results. A total of 6135 cases from 246 articles were included in the analysis. This review was conducted in accordance with the 2020 PRISMA guidelines and registered on PROSPERO., Results: The most common adult clinical manifestations were pain, urinary symptoms, and numbness; in children, they were urinary symptoms, skin lesions, bowel symptoms, and unspecific motor deficits. Surgical treatment was the primary approach for both adults and children, with a higher clinical improvement rate observed in adults. However, adults also had a higher rate of surgical complications than children. TCS pathological studies have not yet identified the differences between adults and children, and the pathogenesis of adult-onset TCS requires further investigation., Conclusions: Adult-onset and pediatric-onset TCS exhibit certain differences in clinical characteristics, diagnostic examinations, and treatments.
