The article presents a study which focuses on the establishment of a No-take Area (NTA) that could not guarantee the coral communities preservation in Chinwan Inner Bay (CIB) in Penghu, Taiwan. The study uses a study site, rapid assessment techniques, and quantitative surveys modified from ReefCheck methodology. Result found a decline in the living coral from 80.9% in 2001 to 16.3% by 2008 with coral functional group shifting from branching species to massive and columnar species.

The article presents a study on the destruction of hard-coral communities of Qeshm Island, Iran at the side of the Persian Gulf. The study, which covered two main coral sites such as in the south (SHD) and in the southeast (SOEA), conducted laboratory and field surveys to measure sea surface temperature, salinity, and sediments. The study revealed that the low abundance of corals in Persian Gulf is due to several factors including temperature changes, oil pollution, and high sedimentation.
