The construction industry creates a lot of employment, contributing to the country's economic growth. As per the statistics, more than 50 million people work in this sector every year in India. Unfortunately, this sector is one the most dangerous environment to work in. Physical hazards are the most commonly occurring hazards on construction sites leading to potential health problems and injuries to workers on site. Monitoring construction site health is very important in predicting the physical hazards and reducing the injuries of workers. Real-time monitoring of all the environmental parameters is a challenging task, the proposed system gives a solution to monitor various parameters like temperature, humidity, fire, smoke, gas, and vibrations in the site using various sensors. LoRa and internet-based architecture help implement reliable, efficient, and low-power solutions to monitor all the physical parameters without any manual effort and provide wireless access to this data to the managers from anywhere across the globe. This paper presents a comparative performance study with the standardized emission results of a controlled output of 7.4 KW, a stand-alone diesel engine equipped with biodiesel (B100) and diesel fuel. Biodiesel was used in this study is produced from transesterification-processed Pilliostigma Thonningii (PT) oil. The tests were performed at full load for different compression ratios of 18:1, 19:1, 20: 1. Impact of these compression ratios affecting the performance parameters like brakes thermal efficiency, BSFC and emissions such as CO, CO2, HC, NOx and Smoke. The compression ratio that provides better performance and less emission have been identified. The present work focuses on the electrochemical behaviour of Al6061 alloy and Al6061-TiB2 in-situ metal matrix composites. Al6061-TiB2 in-situ Composites were synthesized by a stir casting route at a temperature of 860°C using potassium hexafluorotitanate (K2TiF6) and potassium tetrafluoroborate (KBF4) halide salts. Percentage of TiB2 was kept at 0 wt% and 10wt%. The cast Al6061 alloy and Al6061-TiB2 composites (0wt% &10wt %) were subjected to open die hot forging process at a temperature of 500°C. Both cast and forged Al6061 alloy and its composites were subjected to micro-structural and electrochemical characterization. Corrosion behaviour of alloy and composites in both cast and forged conditions were evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and the results were backed up by a potentiodynamic polarization test. Results indicate that addition of TiB2 particles increases the corrosion rate and reduces the polarization resistance of aluminium alloy in both cast and forged condition owing to galvanic coupling between the reinforcements and base metal. Further, when compared with cast alloy and its composites, forged alloy and its composites exhibited poor corrosion resistance under identical test conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Present investigation focuses on development of graphene filled PC-ABS filament for Fused Deposition Modeling applications. Compounding and twin screw extrusion was employed to synthesis graphene filled FDM filament of 1.75mm diameter. Percentage of graphene was varied from 0.1 vol% to 0.25 vol% in steps of 0.05. Developed filaments were subjected to SEM studies, dimensional accuracy and density measurements. In order to achieve filament of 1.75mm diameter, filament extrusion temperature was optimized using Taguchi’s L25 orthogonal array, microstructure shows homogeneous dispersion of graphene particles in PC-ABS matrix, density decreases with increased content of graphene particles. Novel ceramics of Bi3.25La0.75Ti3-xZrxO12(x = 0.1,0.3,0.5,0.7&1) were prepared by solid state route. X-ray diffraction analysis indicate formation of single phase layered-perovskite with pseudo-orthorhombic structure. Ti-O stretching mode was observed in FTIR data.
