In this work, Ag and Fe3O4 NPs embedded and P(Nipam) coated mesoporous silica (mSiO2@Ag-Fe3O4@P(Nipam) NC) based magnetically controllable and thermoresponsive nanocomposite has been synthesized and characterized for structural, microstructural and magnetic properties. First, mSiO2-Ag-Fe3O4 NC was prepared by simple sol gel process using Ag NPs, Fe3O4 NPs, TEOS, and CTAB. mSiO2@Ag-Fe3O4@P(Nipam) NC was prepared by in situ coating of P(Nipam) on the surface of mSiO2@Ag-Fe3O4 in the presence of oxidizer and crosslinker. TEM and FTIR analysis confirm the presence of AgNPs and Fe3O4 NPs in silica nanosphere and reveal the coating of P(Nipam) polymer. In this work, facile development of superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticle encapsulated bovine serum albumin (BSA) based nanocarrier (Fe3O4@BSA) for targeted drug delivery application has been reported. First, highly monodisperse and well crystalline superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticle was prepared and then a green and simple sonochemical method was used for the development of Fe3O4@BSA nanocarrier. The structural, morphological, and magnetic properties of the prepared Fe3O4@BSA nanocarrier have been studied by XRD, TEM, SAED, FTIR and VSM techniques. The particle sizes of Fe3O4 nanoparticle and Fe3O4@BSA nanocarrier were found to be 5-10 nm and 50-300 nm respectively. TEM micrographs and FTIR analysis confirmed the successful coating of amorphous BSA on crystalline Fe3O4 NPs. Magnetic measurement revealed the superparamagnetic nature of the prepared Fe3O4@BSA nanocarrier. Fe3O4@BSA nanocarrier with smaller particle sizes, good physical and chemical stability, excellent water dispersability and low toxicity could have potential for targeted drug delivery applications. A one-pot microwave assisted method for synthesizing carbon quantum dots (CQDs) from honey is presented in this paper. The structural, morphological and optical properties of synthesized CQDs were characterized by XRD, TEM, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and Raman techniques. The average particle size of CQDs is found to be 2 to 7 nm. The main advantage of this work is the use of inexpensive, less toxic and environmental friendly precursors and synthesis procedure for CQDs. In addition to this, the particle size of prepared CQDs was found to be ultrafine with narrow size distribution. The as-prepared CQDs, with smaller particle size, good stability, good optical properties, water dispersibility and low toxicity, show promising potential for applications in biomedical field. In this work two different sizes of Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) have successfully been synthesized by changing reaction parameter. Prepared Fe3O4 NPs have been characterized for its structural, morphological, and magnetic properties by using XRD, FESEM, TEM, SAED and VSM techniques. XRD and SAED patterns confirmed the formation of cubic phase Fe3O4 NPs. Crystallite sizes estimated using the Debye-Scherrer equation of both prepared Fe3O4 NPs using less (S1) and more (S2) NaBH4 were found to be ~9 and ~18 nm respectively. Both TEM and FESEM results suggested nearly spherical and random morphology of both S1 and S2 prepared Fe3O4 NPs with average particles sizes of 22 and 27 nm respectively. VSM result revealed superparamagnetic nature of the prepared Fe3O4 NPs. In the last section of this work, prepared Fe3O4 NPs have successfully been coated with albumen to form biocompatible multifunctional Fe3O4@Alb nanoparticle. These Fe3O4@Alb NPs may find potential applications in targeted drug delivery due to its magnetic tunability, biocompatibility and inexpensiveness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
