Paper products are carbon-intensive and having a huge potential for carbon reduction due to their biomass-oriented characteristics. A uniform standard for total carbon footprint (CF) accounting is vital. However, the existing standards have not yet been unified. Inconsistencies between standards cause difficulties in their use and significantly weaken the credibility and comparability of the carbon footprint of a product (CFP). This work rethought the three most widely used standards (Publicly Available Specification 2050 (PAS2050), Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard (GHG Protocol), and Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard (ISO14067)) from the life-cycle perspective, and established a more appropriate and comprehensive CF accounting standard for paper products (CFASPP). Sanitary pads were selected as a case study to illustrate the discrepancies between PAS 2050, the GHG Protocol, ISO 14067, and CFASPP, for which the annual production CF results were 1424.60, 1481.08, 1453.57, and 1427.04 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO 2 e) respectively. The main reasons for the different CF results were the cut-off criteria and the inclusion or exclusion of carbon storage, delayed emissions, and energy recovery. Each element increased or decreased 22.57 (carbon storage), 29.96 (cut-off criteria), 10.4 (delayed emissions), and 27.52 (incineration with energy recovery) tons of CO 2 e in the results. With increasing demand, these discrepancies will become increasingly significant and may lead to corporations shouldering more or less carbon emission responsibilities by selecting different standards, which will challenge the fairness of product carbon neutrality management. CFASPP covers all paper product life-cycle stages and places greater emphasis on the aspects of carbon storage, delayed emissions, and energy recovery in incineration, which cannot be ignored for the CF accounting of paper products and other biomass-oriented products. This study aims to provide a more applicable and comprehensive guide for corporations to evaluate the CF of paper products, and to provide a reference for the construction of a carbon-neutral evaluation system. We design a facile strategy to manufacture a high-performance composite of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) made from brown paper and PVC film. Brown paper with little fiber damage is prepared using bamboo pulping via a moderate method, and a high content of lignin enhances the lipophilicity of the fibers. The "layer-network" porous paper provides "green" framework support. When hot and cold pressing of the stacks of paper sheets and PVC films is performed, PVC resin fills the pores of the framework support, and then, strong mechanical interlocking structures are established, similar to the vastly distributed microscale "mortise riveting". Then, a dense and lightweight paper/PVC composite is produced. The composite exhibits strong mechanical properties in terms of tensile strength (132.65 MPa), flexural strength (183.45 MPa), flexural modulus (10.44 GPa), and internal bonding strength (2.6 MPa), with good thermal stability and flame resistance. The strength is 5- to 10-fold that of commercial artificial boards, substantially surpassing that of bamboo, PVC, and other PVC composite resin profiles. Additionally, PVC replaces adhesives that contain or release formaldehyde, and a high percentage (>60 wt%) of green cellulose fibers is used. The simple technology directly uses existing manufacturing methods of papermaking, film stretching, and press laminating systems. Therefore, the high-performance paper/PVC composite is environmentally sustainable and more cost-effective than PVC composites prepared with other fillers. The new materials have great potential prospects for the development of high-strength materials and the implementation of carbon neutrality in prefabricated houses, furniture, vehicles, ships, containers, and color steel plates. Strategies for changing the conductivity of Li 2 CO 3 is introduced into the fabrication of Li-CO 2 battery. Benefitting from the favorable hierarchical architecture constructed (CPM-MnO 2), facile charge transfer occurs between catalytic surface and Li 2 CO 3 by –OH⋯O hydrogen bonds improves the metallicity of Li 2 CO 3 , facilitating the formation/decomposition of Li 2 CO 3 and bestowing an ultra-long-term stability of 1087 cycles (4348 h). Lithium-CO 2 batteries are recognized as an essential strategy for efficient carbon sequestration and energy storage to achieve carbon neutrality. Their cycle-ability and polarization voltage, however, are hindered by high decomposition voltage (≈4.3–4.5 V) of insulating Li 2 CO 3. Herein, we report a significant advance toward the rational design of self-supporting and ultra-long cycle lifetime cathode for Li-CO 2 batteries, dependence on a favorable hierarchical architecture and rich charge transfer constructed by homogeneously distributed MnO 2 nanoplates rooted in the MXene surface supported by carbon paper. Detailedly, it exhibits impressive ultra-long-term stability of 1087 cycles (4348 h) with a low polarization gap (≈ 0.47 V) at a high current of 200 μA cm−2, which is outperformed by all the liquid electrolyte-based Li-CO2 batteries reported previously. Electronic structure analysis reveals that facile charge transfer occurs between catalytic surface and Li 2 CO 3 , springing from the –OH functional group (in MXene) to MnO 2 by –OH⋯O hydrogen bonds, which acts as charge transfer channels, improving the metallicity of Li 2 CO 3 and facilitating its decomposition and extending battery cyclability. Under carbon cap-and-trade regulation, to control carbon emissions and improve the recycling efficiency of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) from the traditional offline recycling channel, more enterprises attempt to simultaneously combine the online recycling platform with the digital transformation of the supply chain. Based on a closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) with dual recycling channels and considering recycling advertising invested both in offline and online recycling channels, this paper attempts to explore the optimal recycling advertising mode which can both achieve economic and environmental performance under cap-and-trade regulation. Therefore, game models including a manufacturer and above either recycler are established, which are respectively correspond to four recycling advertising modes: manufacturer cooperates with neither recycler (MO mode), manufacturer only cooperates with the offline retailer (MR mode), manufacturer only cooperates with the online recycling platform (MT mode), and manufacturer cooperates with either recycler (MRT mode). Consequently, this paper solves the optimal decisions of the tripartite and focuses on the analysis of the impact of cooperative (competitive) recycling advertising under cap-and-trade regulation. By comparing the profits and total carbon emissions of the whole CLSC under four recycling advertising modes, the results indicate that: cooperative advertising between the manufacturer and two recyclers can achieve economic and environmental performance for the whole CLSC if the free-riding phenomenon occurs in recycling advertising. Otherwise, influenced by competitive recycling advertising, the above mode turns to the suboptimal one for the profits of two recyclers and the total carbon emissions of the CLSC. The ever-increasing challenges related to water security and climate mitigation underscore the pressing need for forward-thinking systems planning tools to drive urban sustainability transitions. In this study, we propose a novel city-level multi-objective planning framework that explores the nexus between carbon trading and water management, with the aim of facilitating water-efficient urban industrial restructuring. The framework integrates cap-and-trade mechanisms into a two-layered optimization model, creating an integrated approach to optimizing carbon emissions and generating economic opportunities for improving water efficiency. To illustrate the potential application of this framework, we conducted a case study focusing on Dongguan City, a water-stressed industrial metropolis in southern China. The results illustrate potential synergies between water planning strategies and carbon trading schemes, which could be harnessed to enable targeted reductions in water usage and carbon emissions. Furthermore, our findings identify the textile, apparel, and paper products manufacturing industries as primary candidates for strategic production scale reduction, emphasizing the importance of sustained support for the development of the computer and electronic manufacturing sector as a catalyst for urban sustainability transitions. In this paper a new dc to ac Interconnected Cascaded Converter (ICC) is presented. The proposed ICC consists of several modular submodules of two switches and an inductor interconnecting two capacitors. Each submodule is controlled to keep the voltage on each capacitor as a slice of a sinewave. The output voltage of the converter, according to KVL, includes the sum of the voltages on the capacitor that represents a full pure sinewave. The sinusoidal output of the converter can be varied over a wider range. The proposed converter has the following advantages: sinusoidal output voltage with v/f control; absence of dv/dt related issues; compact size/weight/volume due to the use of wide band gap switching devices. The converter is modular in construction, employs high frequency L-C components and semiconductor switches can be stacked for voltage sharing. The proposed converter is a promising candidate for multiple applications such as high performance ac motor drives, microinverters and uninterruptible power supplies, carbon neutral logistics and electric vehicles. The paper details the operating modes, control aspects along with an illustrative design example for a three and eleven module converter. Decarbonizing the building sector to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) is a complex issue that poses significant challenges to the scientific community. In this context, the current paper aims to assess the viability of employing incinerated by-products as a sustainable mineral resource to produce sustainable geopolymers. To this end, the study focuses on the formulation of geopolymer binders using fly ash with various proportions (ranging from 0 % to 50 %) of metakaolin (MK), investigating their physico-mechanical, microstructural analysis as well as their sealing capacity. The results indicate that incorporating 30 % MK not only preserves good workability but also significantly improves mechanical strength, ensuring long-term durability by increasing bulk density and concurrently reducing water absorption and harmful porosity. Moreover, the results of the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) demonstrated that the released contaminants remained within the regulatory limits established by the USEPA. The geopolymer binder developed exhibited a significant reduction of 77.23 % and 57.92 % in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO 2 -e) emissions and energy demand compared to conventional cement. Driven by the global goal of "carbon neutrality", energy conservation, emission reduction and low-carbon development have become important research directions. Transparent thermal insulation materials can effectively shield near-infrared radiation while maintaining high visible light transmittance, making them widely applicable in building energy conservation. In this paper, antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) and cesium tungsten bronze (Cs x WO 3 , or CWO) are chosen to be composited in order to solve the problems of the poor shielding effect of ATO for short-wavelength near-infrared (NIR) light and the unsatisfactory shielding effect of CWO for long-wavelength NIR light. Therefore, in this study, we employed a one-step hydrothermal method to form a novel CWO@ATO core-shell structure to combine the advantages of both ATO and CWO. By adjusting the composite ratio of ATO and CWO, both the physical and electronic stucutres are effectively tuned to promote the optical modulation in a broad bandwidth. Enventually, the core-shell structured composite exhibit an excellent near-infrared blocking property, surpassing the pure ATO by 27.8 % in the wavelength region of 780∼1500 nm while improving by 14.9 % compared to CWO in the long wavelength between 1500 and 2500 nm. Furthermore, the prepared CWO@ATO core-shell structure repesents near-infrared shielding rate as high as 93.1 % in the full NIR spectrum, and possesses an overall thermal insulation coefficiency (THI) of 9.33 in the full range from 780 nm to 2500 nm, which is substantially larger than that of pure ATO and CWO by a factor of 2.37 and 3.05, respectively. This core-shell structure engineering realizes the utilization of complementary advantages of ATO and Cs 0·33 WO 3 materials, providing a new method to improve the near-infrared performance of energy-saving glass coating, and having broad application prospects in the field of low-carbon buildings. A new integrated energy system (IES) framework is created in order to encourage the consumption of renewable energy, which is represented by wind and solar energy, and lower carbon emissions. The connection between the units in the composite system is examined in this research. In-depth analysis is done on how energy is transferred between electricity, heat, gas, and hydrogen. The system model and constraints are used to build an objective function with the lowest total operating cost. The calculation of carbon trading includes the ladder carbon trading method. And set up 6 cases for analysis, which verifies the effectiveness of the participation of the concentrated solar power plant (CSPP) in the heat supply and power to hydrogen system (P2HS) in reducing the total operating cost of the system, reducing wind curtailment and light curtailment, and reducing carbon emissions. Under the model considered in this paper, reduces the total operating cost reduces by 27.04% when the concentrated solar power plant is involved in the supply of thermal load. And the carbon emission is reduced by 14.529%. Compared with the traditional power to gas, considers the power to hydrogen system in this paper, which reduces the total operating cost by 4.79%. Global warming and other world climate issues have spawned extensive research on the green, recyclable and biodegradable distributed energy harvesting triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) for the collection of renewable energy. Cellulose filter paper (CFP), as a biocompatible natural material with a unique three-dimensional porous network structure, high crystallinity and excellent mechanical flexibility, can be used to create biodegradable and environmentally friendly TENGs. Here, we have developed a green and recyclable CFP-based energy harvesting and human–computer interaction system based on the single-electrode structure. It is composed of PVDF-coated CFP and conductive Cu-coated CFP as friction layer and electrode respectively. The degradation experiment verified the composite film materials can be completely dispersed and dissolved in deionized (DI) water in 30 min using an ultrasonic instrument, which fully proves the green and environmental protection of the prepared CFP-based TENG. We also thoroughly studied the output properties of the fabricated CFP-based TENGs, which demonstrates a maximum output voltage of 192 V, output current of 9.3 μA, and output power at 736.7 mW m−2. The CFP-based TENGs can be conveniently adopted to power commercial electronic products and as a wearable interface to control computer programs. This research demonstrates the effective way to develop CFP-based TENG for energy collecting and human–computer interaction devices with high biodegradability, which is important for realizing the environmental protection of electronic equipment, promoting energy conservation and emission reduction, and achieving carbon neutrality. Considering the constraints of carbon trading policy, manufacturers have strengthened joint emission reduction with energy service company (ESCO). In view of the capital constraint of ESCO and the demand risk of the manufacturer, in order to promote better cooperation between the manufacturer and ESCO, the influence of manufacturer's risk aversion on supply chain performance is studied. In this paper, we use the mean-variance (MV) model to construct the two-echelon supply chain models of manufacturer's non-shareholding ESCO, manufacturer's shareholding ESCO and manufacturer's shareholding ESCO under risk aversion, respectively. This paper studies the risk aversion strategy of manufacturer's shareholding ESCO, discusses the influence of relevant parameters on decision variables, and analyses the influence of different shareholding proportion and risk aversion coefficient on profit through numerical analysis. The results show that the emission reduction of ESCO and the selling price of the manufacturer are increased when the manufacturer chooses the appropriate shareholding proportion, and interestingly, the manufacturer's shareholding in ESCO will also increase its emission reduction price. However, in order to avoid the risk of equity investment, manufacturers adopt the strategy of reducing the price of emission reduction and sales price, but this behavior will not only reduce their own profits, but also make the emission reduction lower. Carbon trading price is the core component of the carbon emission trading market. Accurate carbon trading price prediction is of great significance for forming an effective carbon trading market and achieving the "dual carbon" goal. Based on the carbon trading price data in China Emissions Exchange, this paper predicts the carbon trading price through the proposed hybrid model of SSA+LSTM. After comparing with the classical methods based on econometrics, machine learning and deep learning, it is found that the prediction model proposed in this paper achieves the optimal values of RMSE and MAE, and is a relatively effective carbon trading price prediction model. Global environmental problems are worsening. Among various regulatory measures, market-oriented approaches are most favored by governments worldwide. Using provincial panel data from 2004 to 2020, a multi-period DID model was hereby constructed to empirically study the pollution reduction effects of the pilot policy for carbon emissions trading in China. Findings of this paper could be listed as follows: (1) The pilot policy has achieved notable reductions in waste gas and solid waste, although its effect on wastewater pollutants has been less pronounced; (2) Pollution reduction in the pilot regions can be achieved by optimizing the energy consumption structure; (3) Significant variations in pollution reduction effects are observed between the Northern and Southern pilot regions, with notably stronger policy effects in the north across various pollutants compared to the south. Solar thermochemical cycling is a promising approach to utilizing solar energy to produce H 2 and CO, which can be further synthesized into liquid fuels via Fischer-Tropsch reactions, making storage and transportation easier. Despite the potential high theoretical efficiency, factors such as the high temperature and low oxygen partial pressure required for the reduction restrict the large-scale application of this technology. In the near-to-medium term, in order to accelerate the popularization and application of this technology, according to Le Chatelier's principle, the assisted reduction of methane can greatly reduce the demand for high-temperature materials and ultra-low oxygen partial pressure. However, the addition of methane will also bring additional challenges, such as carbon emissions and carbon deposition. Reducing the influence of factors such as material sintering and irreversible loss on system efficiency in the experiment will be essential for the development of this technology. This paper focuses on the methane-driven two-step thermochemical cycle hydrogen production process, summarizes its reaction mechanism, thermodynamic analysis, kinetic analysis, oxygen carrier material doping, and experimental research in detail, and comprehensively analyzes the effect of material properties and irreversible loss on the system. According to thermodynamic and kinetic analysis, rational selection and doping of metal oxygen carrier materials can effectively reduce the reaction temperature, improve gas production rates, and enhance structural stability. Analyzing and trying to reduce various irreversible losses of the system, such as reradiation energy loss, conduction energy loss, etc., and taking appropriate heat recovery measures will help to improve the system efficiency of the actual cycle. Compared to cast-in-situ construction, prefabricated construction reduces the generation of construction waste; however, construction waste cannot be entirely eliminated through prefabrication and can be generated at each stage of its life cycle. This paper generates a system dynamics model, comprising two causal-loop diagrams and one stock-flow diagram, to simulate the effectiveness of policies on decarbonizing prefabricated concrete building waste. The model can predict the annual and total construction waste, along with the associated carbon emissions, under different policy scenarios in China by 2030. This paper focuses on prefabricated concrete buildings in China, with specific attention to the wastage of concrete, bricks, mortar, and metal. In single-factor scenario simulations, increasing landfilling fee is the most effective policy for waste decarbonization, potentially reducing carbon emissions by 31%. Increasing prefabrication rate and enhancing regulation degree at the design phase of prefabrication can directly reduce prefabricated building waste generation, subsequently resulting in an 18% and 7% carbon emissions reduction. Multi-factor scenario simulations demonstrate that the simultaneous application of all four policies is most effective, achieving a 44% reduction in carbon emissions. With the growing global energy demand and limited production of conventional crude oil, the extraction of unconventional heavy and extra-heavy oil is receiving unprecedented attention. China is the fourth largest producer of heavy oil. High viscosity and complex formation environments increase the difficulty of exploiting heavy oil. To alleviate the economic cost and environmental pollution pressure brought by heavy oil production, China has achieved significant advancement in the innovation of heavy oil recovery, including accelerating the transformation of thermal technology to non-thermal technology and the use of new energy technology to achieve the goal of low-carbon economy and green environmental protection. Based on the background of heavy oil in China, this paper recharacterizes the high-viscosity mechanism of heavy oil. From different aspects, including basic principles, main characteristics, applicability, limitations, and challenges, this paper comprehensively reviews existing heavy oil recovery technologies, including thermal recovery, in-situ upgrading, cold recovery, and new energy technologies. Currently, in China, the main target of heavy oil recovery is achieving the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goals, which can be described as low energy consumption, low emission, and low pollution. To facilitate the low-carbon transition in the extraction of heavy/extra-heavy oil and attain environmental sustainability goals, it is essential to increase the proportion of non-thermal factors in thermal recovery technologies, develop efficient in-situ catalysts, adopt clean cold extraction techniques, and advance the development of new energy technologies. Marine microalgae play a vital role in maintaining the balance of global marine ecosystems and achieving carbon neutrality goals. In this paper, 21 species of common non-setae microalgae in China Sea are taken as the research object, and a photomicrograph classification system based on visual perception is designed to automatically identify the species of microalgae according to their biological morphological characteristics. The main work includes: (1) Extract the microalgal cell targets from the photomicrographs. Aiming at non-setae microalgae, a non-interactive GrabCut method combined with salient region detection is proposed to extract single or multiple cells. First, a boundary correlation-based salient region detection algorithm is employed to localize cell regions. Then the generated saliency map is pre-segmented, and the position information in the pre-segmentation result is used to construct a rectangular window and a mask image respectively, and use them to initialize the GrabCut algorithm. Then iteratively execute GrabCut. Remove noise and smooth cell edges by extracting larger contours and median filtering, respectively. During cell extraction, similarity detection is introduced to exclude pseudo-cell regions. (2) 19 shape features such as body ratio, eccentricity, and rectangularity of microalgal cells are extracted, and the Support Vector Machine is used as a classifier to perform pattern recognition on the feature data. The experimental results show that the recognition scheme proposed in this paper has achieved a relatively ideal recognition effect on the non-setae microalgae, with a recognition accuracy rate of 81.76%. Recently, lithium-ion battery storage system has become increasingly popular due to its enormous potential and capacity in renewable energy integration and e-mobility applications leading to achieve global carbon neutrality by 2050. However, the performance of lithium-ion batteries has been affected due to the material degradation as well as varying environmental conditions. Thus, this paper presents analytical evaluation, aiming to investigate the advancement on the state-of-the-art of lithium-ion battery material potential that has been mapped from the hot papers. Accordingly, 73 hot papers (top 0.1% highly cited) have been found using the keyword search on lithium-ion batteries from the Web of Science database published in last 2 years between 2019 and 2021. These hot papers are evaluated using various key factors, including state-of-the-art of lithium-ion battery materials followed by analytical evaluation. The analytical assessment comprises numerous crucial aspects including keyword co-occurrence network analysis, distribution of articles over countries, journals, research types, and subject categories. Moreover, the review explores the concerns, issues and challenges to identify the existing research gaps. Finally, the review uncovers promising research opportunities and directions that will support the researchers towards energy efficiency, environmental sustainability of advanced lithium-ion battery management system. Carbon trading is widely used as a carbon finance instrument to promote green transformation. This paper focuses on carbon trading's impact on the bond spread for high-carbon enterprises. Using variation in carbon trading access due to pilot policies in China, we find that bonds issued by high-carbon enterprises participating in the carbon trading pilots have lower spreads. Furthermore, the results suggest that carbon trading reduces bond spreads by encouraging high-carbon enterprises to improve their environmental performance. Another channel is the information asymmetry between bondholders and enterprises. More active carbon markets provide investors with more information about enterprises' motivations for reducing carbon emissions, leading to a greater reduction in bond spreads. In addition, the impact of carbon trading is more significant in local SOEs, high-innovation enterprises, and longer-term bonds. China's carbon emissions from households have increased with the growth of the consumption scale. To accomplish the ambitious goals of reducing emissions, carbon emission reduction on the household side should not be neglected. Based on the 2012–2018 CFPS database, This paper examines the relationship between household carbon emissions(HCEs) and the digital economy by analyzing data on household consumption expenditure and carbon emission coefficients. Utilize instrumental variables and the "Broadband China" natural experiment to conduct robustness tests, and further clarify how the digital economy influences direct and indirect household carbon emissions. The study finds that (1) Direct HCEs witness an increase while indirect HCEs experience a decrease due to the digital economy. (2) The digital economy increases direct HCEs by expanding the consumption scale, but surprisingly, the digital economy has not made a significant impact on enhancing residents' environmental awareness. (3) When analyzing indirect HCEs, we introduced a macro perspective, and it is found that the digital economy results in a decline in indirect HCEs primarily due to a reduction in the energy intensity of the whole industry. With the high proportion of renewable energy connected to the grid, the problem of insufficient flexibility in the power system has emerged. Renewable energy and controllable distributed resources can be aggregated and managed through virtual power plants, reducing the need for flexibility to a certain extent. Although building new energy storage systems can compensate for the lack of flexibility, it requires high initial investment costs. To address this, this paper proposes a lease mechanism for coal-fired units based on the combination of carbon credits and prices, providing the right to use coal-fired units for virtual power plants. Subsequently, different demand response strategies are utilized to control the controllable loads of various users, thereby providing certain controllable resources for the virtual power plant. Additionally, to ensure the optimal decision-making of the virtual power plant operator, a cost model accurately describing the capacity degradation state of the energy storage system is adopted. Moreover, a multi-time scale scheduling strategy of virtual power plant is implemented to fully utilize controllable resources of different time scales, effectively dealing with the power imbalance caused by multiple uncertainties. The results show that utilizing the leasing mechanism of coal-fired units and employing demand response strategies from different users can provide flexibility to the virtual power plant. However, traditional semiconductors as catalysts have some problems, such as few catalytic active sites and fast recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes, resulting in low efficiency of photocatalytic CH 4 reforming. For this reason, a series of doped catalysts X-TiO 2 (X = Br, N, and S) are prepared by introducing nonmetallic elements into the TiO 2 lattice to construct oxygen defects. Notably, the CO yield of the S-TiO 2 catalyst was 1048 μ mol g−1, 65 times higher than the catalytic performance of bulk TiO 2. Based on the functional density theory (DFT) calculation, the interaction between the S active site and the performance of photocatalytic CH 4 reforming with oxygen defects is discussed in detail. The synergistic effect of the S site and the oxygen defect has been shown to rapidly activate C = O and C-H bonds at room temperature. Finally, based on the tracer experiment and DFT calculation, a possible mechanism of photocatalytic CH 4 reforming at room temperature is proposed. Yet, the evolution of carbon inequalities within urban agglomerations and the differences between adjacent or distant urban agglomerations have not been well understood, especially in countries undergoing rapid urbanization. Using the data of 89 cities in China's Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) during 2006–2021, this paper quantifies carbon emissions inequality (CEI) at different scales in a systematic regional-urban agglomeration-city hierarchical structure. Then, under the integrated mean logarithmic deviation-logarithmic mean Divisia index (MLD-LMDI) decomposition framework, multi-scale CEIs are perfectly decomposed into six interrelated drivers, i.e., industrial emission structure, energy emission intensity, industrial energy mix, energy intensity, industrial structure, and economic development. The results show that economic development, energy intensity, and industrial energy mix disparities are the main determinants accounting for CEIs at different scales. The decreasing CEI in YREB is mainly due to the changes in industrial structure and economic development, while the energy intensity effect partially hinders the mitigation of CEI. In the upper reaches of the YREB, the energy intensity effect accounts for over 94% growth of CEI during 2006–2021, while the decline in CEIs in middle and lower reaches is primarily caused by the effects of industrial energy mix and industrial structure, respectively. Further spatial decomposition analysis reveals more refined city-level heterogeneous effects and emphasizes the prioritized emission reduction direction for each city. Given that the global fleet of electric vehicles is expanding rapidly, leading to a surge in demand for power batteries, the significance of battery recycling has come sharply into focus. In this paper, we develop a tripartite evolutionary game model coupled with a system dynamics simulation approach to analyze the behavioral mechanisms of stakeholders in electric vehicle battery recycling and to identify the key factors influencing their strategic transformations. The model involves three key stakeholders: local governments, battery cathode manufacturers, and battery pack manufacturers. Through profit analysis and the formulation of a replicator dynamics system, coupled with the application of Vensim for system dynamics modeling, we analyze the effects of ten crucial exogenous variables on stakeholder strategies. Our research highlights the crucial role of government actions, such as subsidies and penalties, in directing corporate strategies. Notably, excessively high subsidies (over 2.1 million Chinese Yuan) lead to dependency among cathode manufacturers. Market factors, including increased battery sales and the preference for low-carbon procurement by electric vehicle manufacturers, are shown to significantly motivate cathode manufacturers to adopt recycling strategies and encourage pack manufacturers to develop recyclable designs. Additionally, the introduction of EU battery regulations and the integration of cathode manufacturers into carbon trading schemes have been identified as positive catalysts for strategic shifts, especially for cathode manufacturers, while exerting minimal influence on pack manufacturers. A good risk warning model is an effective way to guarantee the stable operation of the carbon market and exert its emission reduction function. This paper takes the China's pilot carbon market as the research object and measures the carbon market risk by ARMA-GARCH-VaR. Then, influential factors are selected as non-market characteristics from the perspective of causality and incorporated into the risk warning model, and SMOTE and SMOTEENN are introduced to deal with the unbalanced samples. Results show that (1) The risk fluctuations of Beijing and Shenzhen carbon market are large, and the risk fluctuations of Guangdong carbon market are relatively smooth in the early period and larger in the recent period. (2) Air quality, average daily temperature, CSI 300, power coal, natural gas, European carbon market, exchange rate, and Baidu index are all important factors in the risk volatility of carbon market. (3) The Classification Decision Tree (CDT) has the best performance. CDT has the best performance in Guangdong carbon market, SMOTE-CDT has the best performance in Hubei carbon market, and SMOTEENN-CDT has the best performance in Shanghai carbon market, in which SMOTEENN-CDT has a 76% Recall. Agricultural production has dual functions as a carbon emitter and sink, and fully exploiting the carbon sink function of agriculture is highly valuable for ensuring carbon neutrality. The layout of net carbon in agriculture shows an imbalance, i.e., underscaling in areas with a net carbon advantage or overscaling in areas with a net carbon disadvantage, which restricts the fulfillment of agricultural carbon sinks. Clarifying the global pattern of net carbon imbalances in agriculture and their drivers is highly important for improving the overall net carbon. In this regard, this paper focuses on the global net carbon in agriculture in 155 countries and regions, and a spatial mismatch index of net carbon in agriculture (MNCA) is constructed based on the relative difference between net carbon and cultivated land. Spatial autocorrelation analysis and the standard deviation ellipse are used to reflect its spatiotemporal evolution pattern. In addition, through geographically weighted regression, we explored the effects of agricultural structure, agricultural economic development, the scale of labor and cultivated land and organized the mismatches into carbon and area effects. The results show that (1) global agricultural production represents net carbon emissions, while developing countries represent net carbon sinks, and there is a mismatch of net agricultural carbon in most regions; (2) the MNCA is characterized by low-low clustering in North America, Asia and Europe, with its center of gravity falling in western Africa and migrating northeastward; and (3) the main factors influencing the MNCA are the agricultural structure and economic level. Underscaling in areas with a net carbon advantage is a major problem. To increase the global agricultural carbon sink capacity, we suggest that North America, South Asia and other regions strictly implement agricultural emission reduction policies and that Central America, South America and Africa tentatively upgrade agricultural technology and their economies to alleviate farmland pressure through transnational cooperation. The carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions have reached their highest levels since measurements began in recent years. This is widely regarded as one of the primary factors contributing to the increasing frequency of extreme climate events. Consequently, accurate and reliable CO 2 emission data becomes the benchmark in shaping policies and setting targets aimed at reducing emissions, which are essential for carbon emission-related research. Among all industries, the electric power sector takes the highest proportion of CO 2 emissions, making the carbon emission accounting for this sector a crucial component of overall carbon emissions accounting. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of the applied technologies and research progress in electricity carbon emissions accounting. The paper begins by introducing the fundamental concept of electricity carbon emission accounting. Electricity carbon emissions are categorized into two types: direct carbon emissions from electricity production and indirect carbon emissions from electricity consumption. Then, the current applied approaches for accounting for these two types of emissions are reviewed separately. After analyzing the shortages of existing applied carbon emission accounting approaches, the paper proceeds to review the research on the improved approaches of direct and indirect carbon emission accounting. The exploitation of fossil fuels in various sectors, such as power and heat generation, and the transportation sector has been the primary source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which are the main contributors to global warming. Qatar's oil and gas sector notably contributes to CO 2 emissions, accounting for half of the total emissions. Globally, it is essential to transition into cleaner fossil fuel production to achieve carbon neutrality on a global scale. In this paper, we focus on clean hydrogen, considering carbon capture to make hydrogen a viable low carbon energy alternative for the transition to clean energy. This paper systematically reviews emerging technologies in carbon capture and conversion (CCC). First, the road map stated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to reach carbon neutrality is discussed along with pathways to decarbonize the energy sector in Qatar. Next, emerging CO 2 removal technologies, including physical absorption using ionic liquids, chemical looping, and cryogenics, are explored and analyzed regarding their advancement and limitations, CO 2 purity, scalability, and prospects. The advantages, limitations, and efficiency of the CO 2 conversion technology to value-added products are grouped into chemical (plasma catalysis, electrochemical, and photochemical) and biological (photosynthetic and non-photosynthetic). The paper concludes by analyzing pathways to decarbonize the energy sector in Qatar via coupling CCC technologies for low-carbon hydrogen, highlighting the challenges and research gaps. Energy development in industrial parks promotes both industrial and inter-park economies. However, as the number of industrial parks increases and the economic level of the parks rises, energy consumption is also increasing rapidly. The rapid expansion of inter-park trading markets is accompanied by a surge in carbon emissions, making industrial parks increasingly significant contributors to carbon emissions within the industrial sector. In response to this environmental challenge, this paper proposes an integrated trading approach within industrial parks that considers carbon constraints. By implementing a spot trading method for surplus industrial energy, the goal is to mitigate the carbon emission pressure within these parks. Firstly, the paper conducts an analysis of the characteristics of combined heat and power units in industrial parks. It introduces an integrated analysis method within the target region, consolidating information from various park units to enhance flexibility in energy utilization. Secondly, an energy storage model is established. This model efficiently leverages energy storage capacity to balance fluctuations in energy supply and demand within industrial parks, thereby alleviating carbon emission pressure. Finally, the study and analysis of an industrial park in Liaoning Province were conducted using the Yalmip + Gurobi commercial software on the MATLAB platform. Compared with the traditional industrial park, the carbon dioxide emission of the industrial park is reduced by 91.49t, and the energy cost is saved by 11.2 million RMB. This study aims to explore the direct and indirect impacts of the Carbon Emission Trading System (CETS) on the green transition development (GTD) of Chinese cities. This paper constructs a GTD evaluation system from the perspective of prevention and governance at the source, in terms of carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion and growth, and measures the GTD performance of 281 cities based on the EW-TOPSIS model. It is found that the average increase in GTD of the sample cities from 2006 to 2020 is 3.40 %, the GTD progress of the 281 cities has a considerable positive spatial autocorrelation, with the GTD progress of the CETS pilot cities being significantly bigger than that of the non-pilot cities. Further this paper adopts the spatial difference model (S-DID) to scientifically identify the influence mechanism and heterogeneity of the direct and spatial effects of CETS on city GTD, and the results show that CETS has a positive effect on the GTD of both local and neighboring cities. Propensity score matching (PSM) is used to further corroborate these findings. The study also shows that CETS improves local GTD by promoting green innovation, rationalizing industrial structures, and enhancing energy efficiency in cities. Nevertheless, the ensuing siphon effect hinders nearby cities' levels of energy efficiency, industrial structure rationalization, and green innovation. The policy effects of CETS are more significant in large cities, eastern cities, old industrial areas, and non-resource-based cities. China has committed to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and become carbon neutral by 2060. Hebei, as a major energy province in China, has more challenging carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets. Based on the extended STIRPAT model, this paper evaluates the time to peak carbon and post-peak carbon trend changes in Hebei province under different scenarios from 2020 to 2060. Based on the support vector machine model with particle swarm optimization, this paper evaluates the carbon neutral pathways under different scenarios in Hebei province from 2020 to 2060 in terms of forests, croplands, wetlands, grasslands and Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS). The results show that a monotonically flat trend without inflection point, a single-inflection-point plateau-period trend and a multi-inflection-point inverted U-wave trend occur after carbon peaks. Hebei Province can achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 under the policy scenario and the enhanced scenario, and the enhanced scenario is better. Comparing with existing studies, the innovation of this paper is to design different trends of changes after carbon peak, combining carbon absorption and carbon emission, and providing more diversified development paths for carbon neutral strategies through a more integrated perspective and multi-scenario comprehensive analysis. Therefore, In the future, Hebei Province should establish a platform for carbon emissions monitoring and carbon footprint assessment, and set up an early warning and assessment mechanism for carbon peaking, so as to prevent a rebound trend in carbon emissions after peaking. This paper develops a bi-level low-carbon optimal scheduling model, highlighting reliable operation and the balance of supply and demand of RIESs with demand-response uncertainty. In this paper we firstly redefined the carbon emission of a RIES as a carbon flow and proposed a reward and punishment carbon trading mechanism based on the ladder carbon price. Secondly, we designed an incentive-based demand-side response policy within the subsystem encompassing electricity, gas, and heat. Concurrently, the probability density distribution functions of transferable, replaceable, and interruptible loads are computed separately. Finally, the mechanism of carbon trading and the demand-response is leveraged to address the economic scheduling incorporating operation cost, carbon transaction cost, imbalance costs of supply and demand, and load loss. In the effort to achieve carbon neutrality through a decentralized electricity market, accurate short-term load forecasting at low aggregation levels has become increasingly crucial for various market participants' strategies. Accurate probabilistic forecasts at low aggregation levels can improve peer-to-peer energy sharing, demand response, and the operation of reliable distribution networks. However, these applications require not only probabilistic demand forecasts, which involve quantification of the forecast uncertainty, but also determining which consumers to include in the aggregation to meet electricity supply at the forecast lead time. While research papers have been proposed on the supply side, no similar research has been conducted on the demand side. This paper presents a method for creating a portfolio that optimally aggregates demand for a given energy demand, minimizing forecast inaccuracy of overall low-level aggregation. Using probabilistic load forecasts produced by either ARMA-GARCH models or kernel density estimation (KDE), we propose three approaches to creating a portfolio of residential households' demand: Forecast Validated, Seasonal Residual, and Seasonal Similarity. At the same time, considering the joint demand response, it can effectively reduce the peak power supply pressure of the power grid. In addition, in order to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the solution, this paper improves the traditional NSGA-II algorithm, greatly improving the overall performance of the algorithm. This paper investigates the impact of China's environmental regulations, with a focus on the green credit policy, on green innovation in pursuit of the "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" goal. Given the implementation of the 2012 Green Credit Guidelines, this paper employs the Difference-in-Difference Method (DID) and conducts a quasi-natural experiment to empirically examine the interactions among the central government, local governments, and high-pollution and high-emission enterprises by exploring the impact of green credit policies on green innovation of these enterprises. Relying on 4503 samples of 237 high-pollution and high-emission enterprises listed in the main board in China from 2003 to 2021, this study reveals that the green credit policy can improve green innovation of these enterprises. Specifically, this study explores the detailed mechanism through which the green credit policy enables these enterprises to increase their market concentration and then the monopoly profits, which in turn promotes their green innovative productivity. In addition, this paper also reveals how local governments' political and financial incentives may serve as positive and negative moderating factors, respectively, within the impact mechanism. This study has valuable implications for how to effectively formulate and implement environmental regulations by balancing the interests of the central government, local governments and enterprises. Carbon trading market is a central policy tool for promoting cleaner enterprises' energy consumption and investment behaviors. It is crucial for enterprises to establish a green and low-carbon development model by clarifying carbon trading impact mechanism on enterprise behaviors and the interactive relationship between entities in the carbon market. China's contract-based carbon market is still in the development stage, the impact of the mainstream allowance mechanism and government regulation on enterprises' energy behaviors has yet to be determined. In view of this, this paper describes mathematical mechanisms of the influence of carbon prices and carbon quotas on enterprises' energy consumption and investment, and the evolutionary game model of government-enterprise behaviors is constructed, the evolution process and appropriate strategies of enterprises' energy behaviors in the development of the carbon market are discussed. This paper uses real data of China carbon market to simulate the model, it is found that strategies such as relaxation of carbon quotas and carbon subsidies dynamization are needed during the initial development of the market. In the mature stage of the carbon market, strategies are needed to increase the proportion of government carbon revenue and reduce its regulatory cost. The higher the initial willingness of government-enterprise, the better the effect of strategies and the constraints of public willingness. Reducing carbon emissions and improving vegetation carbon sequestration (VCS) have long been recognized as the key ways to address the aim of carbon neutrality, requiring global effort and typical regional experiences. This paper develops an assessment framework for measuring the net carbon sink efficiency (NCSE) based on the concept of net-zero carbon sink to depict both carbon emission and VCS simultaneously. This paper primarily runs a spatial autocorrelation analysis to explore spatial characteristics of urbanization and NCSE of Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration (YRD) in China from 2000 to 2020, followed by employs a spatial econometric model to investigate the spatial spillover effect of urbanization on NCSE. The results show that NCSE in YRD exhibits clear spatial disparities, descending from the southern part dominated by mountainous hills to the flatter northern region. The spatial evolutionary trend of urbanization and NCSE has a significant positive correlation, manifested as H-H and L-L agglomeration, covering most counties in southeast coastal areas and northern plains, respectively. The NCSE can improve even during the continued urbanization in YRD. Specifically, for every 1% increase in urbanization, NCSE will increase by 0.164%, of which 0.118% in direct and 0.046% in indirect growth, respectively. In addition, GDP per capita, industrial structure, technological progress, road area and direct foreign investment are benefit for NCSE. In contrast, population density, environmental regulation, and built-up area tend to decline NCSE. Under the goal of "carbon peaking" and "carbon neutrality" in China, it is significant to explore whether emission reduction commitments contribute to carbon risk premium. Therefore, based on a sample of Chinese listed companies that publicly disclosed questionnaires in the CDP from 2009 to 2021, this paper empirically examines the relationship between emission reduction commitments and carbon risk premium and their formation mechanism. The results show that emission reduction commitments can effectively hedge the carbon risk premium, which pass several robustness tests. Specifically, the more comprehensive and ambitious the commitment is, the greater the suppression of the carbon risk premium. The mechanism test shows that disclosing emission reduction commitment information can reduce carbon risk by improving investor confidence and attracting political resources. Differences in enterprise emission levels, regional environmental regulation intensity and green financial development result in different risk-hedging effects of emission reduction commitments. Moreover, the greater the substantial pressure from stakeholders, the greater the tendency for firms to set up emission reduction commitments. Finally, the heterogeneity analysis reveals that confidence level of commitments has a significant impact on risk premium. Specifically, enterprises with SBTi validation, higher CDP ratings and higher target completion are more helpful in curbing carbon risk premium. Energy-saving construction has promoted the sustainable development of cities and is an important measure to achieve carbon neutrality and peak carbon. This paper uses the synthetic control method(SCM), propensity score matching difference-in-difference model(PSM-DID), spatial Durbin difference-in-difference model (SDM-DID) and other methods to explore the policy effect of energy-saving policy on the green innovation efficiency of Chinese cities based on the New Energy Demonstration City(NEDC) policy as a quasi-natural experiment. The paper has found that establishing NEDC can significantly improve the green innovation efficiency of pilot cities, and its positive impact continues to increase over time. The effect of energy-saving policy has regional heterogeneity, and NEDC can promote the improvement of urban green innovation efficiency more in eastern and central China. The results of PSM-DID further verify the robustness of the previous conclusion. The results of SDM-DID show that NEDC has a positive spatial spillover effect on the improvement of urban green innovation efficiency. NEDC policy can effectively promote the improvement of green innovation efficiency in neighboring cities of pilot cities. Mechanism analysis shows that NEDC affects urban green innovation efficiency by optimizing industrial structure, reducing resource dependence and gathering innovative elements. This paper aims to study the significance of China's Industrial Structure Rationalization (ISR) in reducing carbon emissions. To this end, this study uses panel data from 30 Chinese province from 2000 to 2019 to measure the Industrial Structure Rationalization of each province by calculating the Thiel index, base on which a nonlinear autoregressive lagged distribution (NARDL-PMG) model is established to explore the impacts of industrial structure rationalization on carbon emissions. The results show that: (1) There still exist significant regional differences between Eastern and Central-Western regions in industrial structure as illustrated by the ISR index. The industrial structure in Eastern region is more rational; (2) In the long run, the carbon emission in China will drop when the industrial structure becomes more rational; (3) However, in the short run, the carbon emission in China will increase when the industrial structure becomes more rational. Forest carbon sink project (FCSP) has received growing attention for its outstanding advantages in carbon emission reduction, environment protection, and achieving the carbon neutrality objective. Using a government-social capital cooperation model, FCSP helps to revitalize the ecological and economic benefits of the forest with standard and efficient management. However, the management and operation barriers of FCSP implementation are complex, multiple and indefinite in the long run, which requires a comprehensive barrier evaluation framework. Hence, this paper is devoted to constructing a barrier evaluation framework for FCSP implementation in China with an integrated multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method. To this end, critical barriers are identified and the criteria system is constructed with a two-stage systematic literature review and interaction with the experts. Later, an applicable and comprehensive barrier evaluation framework is built, wherein the interval type-2 fuzzy set (IT2FS) is used to process fuzziness and uncertain information, the best-worst method (BWM) is adopted to determine the criteria weight, and the Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations II (PROMETHEE II) is introduced for comprehensive barrier evaluation. The criteria weighting results indicate that FCSP implementation encounters challenges taking into account institutional and governance barriers (criteria weight: 0.3592), management barriers (0.2384), economic and market barriers (0.1637), knowledge barriers (0.0747), technical and infrastructure barriers (0.1639), C1 "Lack of clear leadership and policies" and C5 "Forest management performance" were determined the most significant criteria, A5 and A4 respectively performed the lowest and the highest barrier level. In sensitivity analysis, the ranking results were stable when the criteria changed, and Spearman's rank correlations of B2, B4, and B5 are significant. The results were validated by a comparative analysis with other methods with the help of Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, which reflects accepted high correlations (Spearman's pro values of BWM-IT2F-PROMETHEE II (Gaussian rule), BWM-IT2F-TOPSIS, and BWM-TFN-VIKOR are 1.00, 1.00, 1.00). Recycling spent lithium-ion batteries is a significant way to achieve life-cycle management and a green circular economy, helping to achieve carbon neutrality. The form of battery pack disassembly has gradually moved away from manual manipulation to a human–robot collaborative process. However, there is no established methodology for assessing spent lithium-ion battery disassembly between the environmental benefits, technical feasibility, and economic viability of human–robot collaborative disassembly (HRCD). To ensure the efficiency and security of HRCD processes, this paper develops a resilience assessment model for HRCD using stability, redundancy, efficiency and adaptation metrics. The resilience assessment theory is used to obtain the internal relations among the resilience indicators of the system. In this work, we evaluate the resilience of HRCD for lithium-ion battery disassembly by integrating fuzzy Bayesian fusion with an analytical network process unfolding cloud. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt driver demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach, which allows greater flexibility in complex tasks performed by humans and robots. In case study, the weights values of stability, redundancy, efficiency and adaptability are 0.340533, 0.161384, 0.203835 and 0.294248, respectively. IR2&HO1 and IR3&HO2 have an assessment value of 93 and 95, respectively, with eigenvalues of 1.28 and 1.23, which are level I. RI3&HO1 and RI4&HO3 belong to level IV, with an evaluation value of 38 and 45, respectively, and a characteristic value of 2.27 and 2.55, respectively. The integrated methodology proposed in this paper could be effectively used by disassembly management, to evaluate the HRCD disassembly scheme resilient strategies for better managing production. This paper moves from the relevance that greenwashing has assumed in recent years and aims to investigate whether the environmental claims made by companies truly reflect their actions. Specifically, it analyzes the relationship between environmental claims and strategic intentionality toward environmental sustainability, proxied by the use and weight of incentives linked to environmental targets in executive compensation plans. By adopting this approach, the study offers a more nuanced perspective on greenwashing, addressing the limitations of the prevalent performance-based view. Based on the analysis of the companies listed on the FTSE Italia All-share index 2021, the paper highlights that companies that draft sustainability plans and declare carbon neutrality goals tend to include environmental targets in their executive compensation plans more frequently and with greater weights compared to other companies. Conversely, merely reporting environmental performance in sustainability (or integrated) reports is not associated with the use of environmental targets in executive compensation plans, suggesting the potential existence of greenwashing practices. As the built environment is among the main contributing sectors to climate change, it is needed to investigate new paradigms to push decarbonization efforts towards the ambitious objectives defined internationally. It is a shared understanding that shifting the perspective from the single building to the district perspective is required to fully take into consideration the complexity of all interactions undergoing within the built environment, thus the concept of Positive Energy District emerged as a district with annual net zero energy import and net zero CO 2 emission working towards an annual local surplus production of renewable energy. In this framework, this paper explores the investigation of the potential for achieving the level of Positive Energy District in a group of non-residential buildings in Balaguer, Catalonia, Spain. These buildings, occupying 8,825 m2 in the city centre, require significant refurbishment for improved energy performance. The analysis includes building energy modelling and simulation, renovation studies, several alternative balance calculations, and carbon emissions assessment. The paper also considers mobility and embodied energy and their impact on energy/carbon balances. The results show that Positive Energy Districts carbon and primary energy balances are not met with rooftop PV installations when retrofitting an existing district towards the Positive energy target but further significant PV areas (roughly + 50%) are required to meet merely the use stage balances: negative results are traced when mobility and embodied energy are computed. A formulation alternative to the simple mathematical balance to facilitate the diffusion of Positive Energy District as catalyst of urban decarbonisation could be needed, including context factors and alternative systems (e.g., rating systems). Currently, a considerable number of studies have been conducted on building energy-efficient renovation and its derivative topics, however, a comprehensive overview on incentive initiatives related to existing renovation practices in China is still scarce, such as a lack of critical correlation analysis between national and local initiatives, a lack of the synthesis and critique towards the latest policies and related achievements, and inadequate generalization of the diverse and multi-layered barriers and challenges in building energy-efficient renovation practices. To address these issues, this paper adopts a diversified policy segmentation approach to deeply analyze the dynamic evolution of the incentive initiatives from both national and local level perspectives, as well as to establish the related network of policy linkages between national to local, and between different localities. In addition, this paper presents a critical analysis on representative initiatives in two batches of pilot cities, and proposes good practices and valuable experiences for building energy-efficient renovation. Finally, this paper further summarizes and discusses the barriers to building energy-efficient renovation from four perspectives: governments, householders, enterprises and research institutions, and proposes a series of targeted and feasible pathways and strategies. A fair and effective allocation of carbon quotas is crucial for China to achieve its "Double Carbon" goals and the effective operation of its carbon trading market. By constructing a differential game model, this study explored the effects of the technology spillovers and incremental costs of carbon transfers on the allocation of carbon quotas under centralised and decentralised decision-making scenarios with the purpose of maximizing social welfare. This paper proposes a cost-sharing contract to coordinate a supply chain for the loss of social welfare under decentralised decision-making. The results show that the effects of spillovers and incremental costs on carbon quota allocation depend upon the enterprises' abatement costs. The suppliers' carbon quotas are negatively correlated with the spillover effects. The incremental cost effects will be more pronounced for suppliers when their abatement costs are high and they could obtain more carbon quotas accordingly. When the manufacturer's abatement costs are low (high), its carbon quotas decrease (increase) with the spillover effects but increase (decrease) with the incremental costs. The cost-sharing contract achieves Pareto improvements based on improved social welfare and increased carbon quotas for both the manufacturer and supplier. Given the effects of carbon transfer on enterprises with different abatement costs, this paper can provide the government with a reference for designing an allocation mechanism for carbon quotas.
