Tunnel lining falling blocks can cause great threats to traffic safety, resulting in traffic interruptions or speed limits and endangering operational safety. Traditional lining disease remediation measures have low efficiency and high costs and are time consuming. Combining the research methods used in the literature, indoor testing, and model experiments, a very normal material, namely, polyurea spray film material, is proposed as a means by which to remediate the lining falling block disease in tunnels. A 1 : 1 tunnel lining structure model was established at the site, and four experimental conditions were tested. The experiments revealed that the tensile stress was less than the tensile strength and that no tensile fracture occurred in the polyurea spray film material under the joint action of the block’s self-weight and aerodynamic loads. Factors such as side seam treatment, surface sanding, and spray temperature may influence the bond strength of the polyurea spray film material. In order to remediate the issue of lining blocks falling, we recommended increasing the bond strength between the spray film material and the concrete or increasing the thickness of the polyurea spray film material.

In this paper, the effect of a fractional constitutive model on the rheological properties of fluids and its application in numerical simulation are investigated, which is important to characterize the rheological properties of fluids and physical characteristics of materials more accurately. Based on this consideration, numerical simulation and analytical study of unsteady fractional Oldroyd-B viscoelastic flow are carried out. In order to improve the degree of accuracy, the mixed partial derivative including the fractional derivative in the differential equation is converted effectively by integrating by parts instead of by direct discretization. Then, the stability, convergence, and unique solvability of the difference scheme are verified. The validity of the finite difference method is tested by making comparisons with analytical solutions for two kinds of fractional Oldroyd-B viscoelastic flow. Numerical results obtained using the finite difference method are in good agreement with analytical solutions obtained via the variable separation method. Viscoelastic characteristics of the unsteady Poiseuille flow are similar to the second-order fluid or integer-order Oldroyd-B fluid when the parameter is close to 0 or to 1. Oscillation characteristics of fractional viscoelastic oscillatory flow are similar to those of the classical viscoelastic fluid under the same condition. Compared with the previous research, the present work studies the rheological properties of fluids with the finite difference method, and the application of fractional constitutive models in describing the rheological properties of fluids is developed. Meanwhile, more cases reflecting the fractional-order characteristics are given. The present method can accurately capture the flow characteristics of unsteady fractional Oldroyd-B viscoelastic fluid and is applicable for the generalized fractional fluid.

The confusing use of Polygonati Rhizoma (PR) and Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma (POR) poses an unpredictable threat to the health of consumers. Sensitive, nondestructive, rapid, and multicomponent techniques for their detection are sought after. In this study, a low-cost, short-wavelength (898–1668 nm), and handheld near-infrared (NIR) spectrometer combined with multivariate spectral evaluation methods was used to establish calibration models for identifying PR and POR. NIR spectra were treated with a standard normal variate (SNV) before performing chemometric approaches. Then principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) were tested for calibration model development. The PCA results showed that spectral differences existed between the two herbs. However, the evaluation techniques could not separate them with the required accuracy. The PLS-DA calibration model, on the other hand, could separate the two herbs according to their spectral information with the prediction accuracy of >98.3%. Thus, it has been proven that a rapid, green, and low-cost method to support on-site and practical inspection through a handheld NIR instrument has been established to identify PR and POR and ensure the safety of the clinical medication.

Phagocytic ability of macrophage is responsible for tuberculosis infection. Nicotine has been shown to attenuate the phagocytic ability of macrophage; however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Here, we demonstrated that nicotine increased the message RNA (mRNA) and protein expression of signal regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα) and enhanced the stability of SIRPα mRNA in macrophage. Nicotine decreased the expression of microRNA (miR)-296-3p, which directly targeted the 3′-untranslated region (3′-UTR) of SIRPα mRNA in macrophage. Furthermore, nicotine inhibited the phagocytic ability of macrophage by regulating the miR-296-3p–SIRPα axis. Moreover, nicotine decreased miR-296-3p expression via increasing c-Myc expression in macrophage. Together, we found that nicotine attenuate the phagocytic ability of macrophage by regulating the c-Myc-miR-296-3p–SIRPα signal.

Endometriosis is a common inflammatory illness in which endometrial tissue grows outside the uterine cavity. Immune dysfunction is now widely acknowledged as the primary cause of endometriosis. The immune cell population represented by neutrophils is thought to play an essential role in the etiology, pathophysiology, and associated clinical outcome. There is growing evidence that neutrophils have a role in chronic and aseptic inflammatory diseases, and endometriosis patients have increased levels of neutrophils in plasma, peritoneal fluid, and ectopic endometrium. Here, we sought to review the function of neutrophils in the pathogenesis of endometriosis, with an emphasis on the role of neutrophils in regulating endometrial angiogenesis and the local inflammatory microenvironment.

Recently, aerodynamic performance analysis has been widely studied due to its importance in aircraft design. Most works adopted computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation to compute the aerodynamic forces, which is time consuming. To reduce the simulation time, several works proposed to use deep learning model as the surrogate model of CFD simulation. However, the explainability of deep learning models is poor and has been widely criticized, which limits the further development of deep learning in aerodynamic performance analysis. In this paper, a novel neural network is proposed to predict the aerodynamic forces of airfoils. To improve the explainability, the circular padding is proposed to replace traditional zero padding in the convolutional layers. Moreover, the saliency map of the predicted aerodynamic force on the input airfoil is shown in a more intuitive way. In this manner, the influence of different parts of airfoil on the final aerodynamic force can be easily analyzed. Extensive experiments on different data sets show that our work is efficient and effective. Most importantly, these results explain the potential relationship between the airfoil and the aerodynamic force.

Persistent inflammation in the secondary spinal cord injury (SCI) is an important reason for the failure of nerve repair, which is partly due to the continuous activation of local M1-like macrophage/microglia. It is reported that extracellular trap (ET) has been a new way of cell death, which can be released by macrophages and named macrophage extracellular trap (Met). Furthermore, it exists widely in the pathophysiological process of many diseases, but it has been rarely studied in the field of SCI. In this study, we constructed a spinal cord contusion model and assessed the function outcome of SCI rats. We used immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and transmission electron microscope (TEM) to demonstrate the existence of Mets. Besides, some related experiments had also been employed to explore the relationship between Mets and M1 polarization of macrophage/microglia. We also performed Co-IP and Western blotting to reveal a new extracellular proinflammatory signal pathway. Finally, we made a linear regression analysis between the concentrations of specific markers of Mets in human serum and ASIA scores. Briefly, our results suggested that macrophages infiltrated in SCI area could induce macrophage/microglia to differentiate into M1-like cells by releasing Mets, which may be achieved partly through LL37-P2X37-NF-κB signal pathway. However, limiting Mets could effectively inhibit M1 polarization and promote function recovery. In addition, the concentrations of Met related proteins in human serum showed high correlation with ASIA scores and could be applied to reflect the severity of SCI. In conclusion, Mets may be a new target for SCI therapy and a promising index for SCI assessment.

In order to solve the problem of low accuracy of high-rise building cost evaluation, the author proposes an intelligent evaluation method of engineering cost feasibility model based on the Internet of Things. According to the overall investment composition of the construction project, this paper classifies the cost index, determines the overall cost correction coefficient, and uses the gray correlation analysis method to build the evaluation index system; according to the structure of BP neural network, the network error is calculated, and the error signals of output layer and hidden layer are defined by gradient descent method to obtain the network weight adjustment formula; finally, this paper uses the adaptive learning rate adjustment formula to set the network parameters, introduces the key parameters in the construction project to the input layer, and establishes the final cost evaluation model. Experimental results show that the error rate of this system is controlled within 10%, which meets the requirements of investment estimation. Conclusion. The proposed method can accurately and quickly evaluate the best solution for the cost of high-rise buildings with less information and has strong nonlinear information processing capabilities.

P2P lending is an important part of Internet finance, which is popular among users because of its efficiency, low cost, wide range, and ease of operation. The problem of predicting loan defaults is affected by many factors, such as the linear and nonlinear nature of the data itself and time dependence and multiple external factors, which have not been well captured in the previous work. In this paper, we propose a multiattention mechanism to capture the different effects of various time slices and various external factors on the results, introduce ARIMA and LSTM to capture the linear and nonlinear characteristics of the lending data respectively, and establish a Time Series Multiattention Prediction Model (MAT-ALSTM) based on LSTM and ARIMA. This paper uses the Lending Club dataset from the United States to prove that our model is superior to ANN, SVM, LSTM, GRU, and ARIMA models in the prediction effect of MAE, RMSE, and DA.

In this article, by using the Schauder fixed point theorem, we first study the existence of solutions for a new coupled system of Caputo fractional differential equations with multipoint boundary value conditions under the assumption that the nonlinear term satisfies two types of the Carathéodory conditions. Using this result, we provide the existence of solutions of the system with infinite points and Riemann–Stieltjes integral boundary conditions, respectively, instead of doing it directly. Finally, we give three examples to illustrate the feasibility of main results.

With the development and popularity of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) has attracted more and more clinical attention. Reperfusion arrhythmia (RA), one of the common manifestations during and after PCI, can affect the postoperative cardiac function of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Therefore, effective intervention on RA has important clinical significance. This study observed the effect of amiodarone on reperfusion arrhythmia (RA) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and explored its possible mechanism. The results showed that amiodarone had good clinical efficacy in the prevention of RA in patients with AMI after PCI, and it could reduce the levels of serum IL-6, hs-CRP, CK-MB, and cTnI in patients and reduce the damage caused by reperfusion, thereby reducing the occurrence of RA.

Objective. To investigate the effect of mindfulness training on neurological function and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods. This study selected 120 patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy and randomly divided them into three independent subgroups according to different training methods: mindfulness meditation group (MM), aerobic exercise group (AE), and mindfulness combined with aerobic exercise group. (MMAE). The three groups were analyzed for SNCV and MNCV velocities, MAAS and TCSS scores, neurological symptom scores, neurological sign scores, and quality of life. Results. Before treatment, SNCV and MNCV were not significantly significant ( P > 0.05 ), but after treatment, SNCV and MNCV were significantly higher, and the MMAE group changed more significantly ( P < 0.05 ); before treatment, MAAS and TCSS scores were not significant ( P > 0.05 ), but after treatment, MAAS scores were significantly higher, TCSS scores were significantly lower, and more significantly in MMAE; the difference was significant ( P < 0.05 ); before treatment, there was no statistical significance of the neurological signs score ( P > 0.05 ); after treatment, the neurological symptoms score and neurological signs score were significantly reduced, and the changes in the MMAE group were statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ); there was no significant difference in the quality of life score before treatment ( P > 0.05 ), and the quality of life score in the MMAE group was significantly increased ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion. Mindfulness training combined with aerobic exercise has an ideal therapeutic effect on patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and has a very important role in improving the neurological function and quality of life of the patients. It is a safe and effective treatment method. Therefore, mindfulness training combined with aerobic exercise is worthy of promotion and application.

It is difficult to build roads in the desert areas with wind-blown sands because the prevailing harsh environment and the characteristics of the aeolian sands inhibit strategies and measures for road damage prevention and control that are typically effective in other settings. Typically, the rainfall period in aeolian sand areas worldwide is concentrated and the rainfall volume is relatively large, which combined with small and unstable nature and the aeolian sand particles means roads built in these areas can be easily washed away and are vulnerable to water damage. Given geological conditions, topographic features and hydrometeorological conditions differ depending on the region, basic research into water damage in highway roadbed slopes in aeolian sand areas is necessary to formulate treatment measures that are versatile and applicable in different regions. Towards that end, this study strengthens the evaluation of roadbed and pavement drainage and protective measures given aeolian sand erosion caused by rainwater infiltration in certain longitudinal length sections of the Expressway K165 + 250 mileage pile section, and includes verification of the design scheme. The effects of rainwater drainage, storage, and subgrade reinforcement on the seepage and stability of drainage in a long longitudinal slope in the desert hinterland were quantitatively analyzed using numerical analysis. Additionally taking into account the regional climate environment characteristics that locally prevail, the necessity and applicability of geotechnical reinforcement in practical engineering applications is demonstrated. The research found the stability of the subgrade slope given potential for rainfall erosion due to concentrated-rainfall periods in an aeolian sand region is promoted through measures including slope drainage on the highway combined with side ditch drainage, strengthening of the box culvert under embankment ditches, and local protection by laying geogrid in the embankment to produce a significant lateral diffusion effect.

To examine relationships between psychological capital, work engagement and organisational citizenship behaviour among nurses.Psychological capital, work engagement and organisational citizenship behaviour are all positive variables associated with work. Clarifying the relationship between the variables can help nursing managers implement tailored and effective intervention strategies to improve individual and organisational performance and quality of care.A quantitative cross-sectional study was designed.The study was carried out from June 2021 to September 2021 in Sichuan Province, China. A total of 606 nurses working at six tertiary hospitals were selected with convenience sampling. Participants were investigated using demographic, work-related information questionnaire, Psychological Capital Questionnaire, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire.The scores of psychological capital, work engagement and organisational citizenship behaviour were 102.56 ± 15.47, 67.96 ± 21.71 and 101.57 ± 11.57, respectively. The multiple linear regression model explained 7.3% of the total variance in organisational citizenship behaviour related to demographic and work-related factors. There was a significant positive correlation between psychological capital, work engagement and nurses' organisational citizenship behaviour. Additionally, structural equation modeling showed that work engagement mediated the relationship between psychological capital and organisational citizenship behaviour with the partial mediating effect of 0.093. The final model explained 28% of organisational citizenship behaviour.Our results suggest that both psychological capital and work engagement are facilitators for organisational citizenship behaviour in nurses. Managers can increase nurses' organisational citizenship behaviour through developing psychological capital and improving the work engagement.This study indicates that both psychological capital and work engagement are protective factors of organisational citizenship behaviour, which provide proof for optimizing human resources management from a positive psychology perspective. Our finding can help managers correctly understand the mechanism of the relationship among work engagement, psychological capital and organisational citizenship behaviour and adopt effective intervention strategies to promote nurses' organisational citizenship behaviour.

This paper proposed an effective method, the overflow control strategy, for identifying and controlling the frequent overflow of signalized intersections based on the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) remote sensing and vehicle trajectory data that provide multi-dimensional vehicle dynamic data. This strategy can effectively control the overflow intersection and restore normal operation as soon as possible. The strategy was implemented as follows. First, UAV remote sensing was used to quickly find the overflow precursor at the intersection. Second, by using moving trajectory data, the second-flow model of the road section was constructed, and overflow identification indexes were established. Third, considering the traffic demand of controlled intersection and non-overflow phase from the global perspective, the queue length model of the non-overflow phase based on moving trajectory data was established and overflow identification indexes were taken as the objective function to design overflow control strategy set. Finally, according to the sampling rate requirement of moving trajectory data and the field traffic survey, the Changping District in Beijing, which meets the requirements, is selected as the case study for simulation and verification. Usually, when overflow occurs, total delay time and the average number of stop cycles at intersections are relatively high. However, by taking the proposed method, overflow at intersections was identified quickly, and a control strategy was implemented immediately, which alleviated the overflow and eventually eliminated it. The results show that the method proposed in this paper can accurately detect the occurrence of overflow, restrain and eliminate the overflow eventually.

To investigate the associations between perceived overqualification, organisational commitment and work passion of nurses.Few studies have considered the effects of perceived overqualification and organisational commitment on work passion of nurses, especially in developing countries.This is a multicentre cross-sectional study. A total of 4511 nurses from eight tertiary hospitals were recruited. The Scale of Perceived OverQalification (SPOQ), the Organizational Commitment Scale (OCS) and the Work Passion Scale (WPS) were used to collect the data. Hierarchical multiple regression were employed.Perceived overqualification and organisational commitment were the main predictors for both harmonious and obsessive passions (each p .001). The unique effect of organisational commitment (βOur findings indicate that high perceived overqualification clearly reduces nurses' harmonious passion and increases their obsessive passion, whereas high organisational commitment significantly promotes nurses' harmonious and obsessive passions.Nurse managers should distinguish the different effects of perceived overqualification and organisational commitment on work passion. Effective intervention should be developed to release nurses' potential abilities and improve their organisational commitment and work passion. Chinese Clinical Trial Registry: ChiCTR2100047974.

The objective of this study was to discuss the health management of elderly patients in the community and the management of community rehabilitation under the support of the new Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT technology was adopted to monitor the wearable devices through mobile medical physiological data. The heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and other physiological indicators of the elderly were collected in real time. The support vector machine (SVM) algorithm was selected as the core algorithm for the elderly physiological index disease risk assessment, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was adopted as the core method of the elderly disease risk quantitative assessment model to process the physiological indicators, and finally, a reasonable physiological index processing model and quantitative indicators of disease risk were obtained. The data on vascular disease were selected from the MIMIC database. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of the SVM algorithm and the Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) algorithm were compared and analysed. The final verification results showed that the fusion accuracy of the SVM processing MIMIC database and the University of California Irvine (UCI) dataset was 0.8327 and 0.8045, respectively, while the fusion accuracy of the BPNN algorithm in processing the same data was 0.7792 and 0.7288, respectively. It was obvious that the fusion accuracy of the SVM algorithm was higher than that of the BPNN algorithm, and the accuracy difference of the SVM algorithm was lower than that of the BPNN algorithm in different groups of data. In the verification of the elderly disease risk quantitative assessment model, the results were consistent with the selected data, which verified the effectiveness of the design model in this study. Therefore, it can be used as a quantitative assessment model of general elderly physiological indicators of disease risk and can be applied to the community medical communication management system. It proved that the model of medical communication and rehabilitation services for elderly patients in the community constructed in this study can definitely help the development of community service for the elderly.

Bile acids are commonly known as one of the vital metabolites derived from cholesterol. The role of bile acids in glycolipid metabolism and their mechanisms in liver and cholestatic diseases have been well studied. In addition, bile acids also serve as ligands of signal molecules such as FXR, TGR5, and S1PR2 to regulate some physiological processes in vivo. Recent studies have found that bile acids signaling may also play a critical role in the central nervous system. Evidence showed that some bile acids have exhibited neuroprotective effects in experimental animal models and clinical trials of many cognitive dysfunction-related diseases. Besides, alterations in bile acid metabolisms well as the expression of different bile acid receptors have been discovered as possible biomarkers for prognosis tools in multiple cognitive dysfunction-related diseases. This review summarizes biosynthesis and regulation of bile acids, receptor classification and characteristics, receptor agonists and signaling transduction, and recent findings in cognitive dysfunction-related diseases.

Objectives. To discover a more powerful diagnostic tool for the detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods. 16 extracellularly located candidates were selected by analyzing the expression array datasets in GEO. 10 of them were validated in clinical samples by ELISA. Differences of each variable were compared by one-way ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis test. CCL20 and LCN2 were determined in all samples (HCC, 167; liver cirrhosis, 106; and healthy control, 106) and finally chosen for the construction of the combination model by binary logistic regression. The models were first built using a comprehensive control, including both liver cirrhosis (LC) and healthy donors. Then, the models were rebuilt by using the LC group alone as a control. ROC analysis was performed to compare the diagnostic efficiency of each indicator. Results. Levels of CCL20 and LCN2 in HCC sera were significantly higher than those in all controls. Using the comprehensive control, ROC curves showed that the optimum diagnostic cutoff of the CCL20 and LCN2 combination was 0.443 (area under curve (AUC) of 0.927 (95% CI 0.896-0.951), sensitivity of 0.808, specificity of 0.892, and accuracy of 0.859). For detection of HCC from LC control, the optimum diagnostic cutoff was 0.590 (AUC of 0.919 (95% CI 0.880-0.948), sensitivity of 0.814, specificity of 0.868, and accuracy of 0.834). Furthermore, the model maintained diagnostic accuracy for patients with HCC in the early stage, with the sensitivity and specificity of 0.75 and 0.77 from LC control, yet the AFP only reached 0.5 and 0.67, respectively. Conclusion. A combination model composed of CCL20 and LCN2 may serve as a more efficient tool for distinguishing HCC from nonmalignant liver diseases.

Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides (GLP) have renal protection effect but there was no study on the diabetic nephropathy. This study was designed to investigate its effect and mechanism using a diabetic rat model induced by streptozotocin (50 mg/kg, i.p.). The diabetic rats were treated with GLP (300 mg/kg/day) for 10 weeks. The blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, body weight, and the levels of blood creatinine, urea nitrogen, and urine protein were assessed. And renal pathologies were assessed by the tissue sections stained with hematoxylin-eosin, Masson’s trichome, and periodic acid-Schiff. The expression of phosphorylated phosphoinositide 3 kinase (p-PI3K), phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-Akt), and phosphorylated mammalian target of rapamycin (p-mTOR), the autophagy proteins beclin-1, LC3-II, LC3-I, and P62; the apoptosis-related proteins caspase-3 and caspase-9; and the inflammation markers IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-ɑ were assessed. Results showed that GLP alleviated the impairment of renal function by reducing urinary protein excretion and the blood creatinine level and ameliorated diabetic nephropathy. The expression of p-PI3K, p-Akt, and p-mTOR in the diabetic kidney were significantly reduced in the GLP treatment group compared to the without treatment group. GLP treatment activated the autophagy indicators of beclin-1 and the ratio of LC3-II/LC3-I but reduced p62 and also inhibited the expression of caspase-3, caspase-9 and IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-ɑ. In conclusion, the effect of GLP amelioration diabetic nephropathy may be via the PI3k/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway by inhibition of the apoptosis and inflammation and activation of the autophagy process.

This study uses China’s Growth Enterprises Market (GEM) listed companies from 2011 to 2017 as samples to examine the impact of industrial policies on innovation in startups from three dimensions, namely, selective industrial policies, government subsidies, and financial support. The results show that selective industrial policies have no effect on the innovation output of startups. Financial support can significantly promote the innovation output of entrepreneurial enterprises; structural differences exist in the impact of government subsidies on the innovation of entrepreneurial enterprises. The influence of industrial policy on the innovation of entrepreneurial enterprises depends on the research and development intensity of enterprises, the level of regional economic development, the leadership structure of enterprises, and other factors. This study’s findings have significant practical significance for the implementation of a national innovation-driven development strategy and to guide industrial policies that better promote enterprise innovation.

With the development of technology, the total extent of global pipeline transportation is also increased. However, the traditional long-distance optical fiber prewarning system has poor real-time performance and high false alarm rate when recognizing events threatening pipeline safety. The same vibration signal would vary greatly when collected in different soil environments and this problem would reduce the signal recognition accuracy of the prewarning system. In this paper, we studied this effect theoretically and analyzed soil vibration signals under different soil conditions. Then we studied the signal acquisition problem of long-distance gas and oil pipeline prewarning system in real soil environment. Ultimately, an improved high-intelligence method was proposed for optimization. This method is based on the real application environment, which is more suitable for the recognition of optical fiber vibration signals. Through experiments, the method yielded high recognition accuracy of above 95%. The results indicate that the method can significantly improve signal acquisition and recognition and has good adaptability and real-time performance in the real soil environment.

The objective of this paper is to study the curative effect of music combined with hypnosis on labor pains during childbirth. Based on the algorithm of data mining, we randomly selected 100 women who delivered babies in obstetric units from October 2020 to June 2021, set the control group and the observation group, obtained the relevant clinical data through comparison, and analyzed the value of music combined with hypnotic analgesia midwifery in obstetrics. The results showed that the number of spontaneous delivery cases in the observation group was higher than that in the control group ( P < 0.05 ) and the delivery time in the observation group was better than that in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). It is proved that music combined with hypnosis can effectively improve the rate of natural childbirth and shorten the overall labor time, so as to guarantee the health of mother and child.

Recently, pretrained language models, such as Bert and XLNet, have rapidly advanced the state of the art on many NLP tasks. They can model implicit semantic information between words in the text. However, it is solely at the token level without considering the background knowledge. Intuitively, background knowledge influences the efficacy of text understanding. Inspired by this, we focus on improving model pretraining by leveraging external knowledge. Different from recent research that optimizes pretraining models by knowledge masking strategies, we propose a simple but general method to transfer explicit knowledge with pretraining. To be specific, we first match knowledge facts from a knowledge base (KB) and then add a knowledge injunction layer to a transformer directly without changing its architecture. This study seeks to find the direct impact of explicit knowledge on model pretraining. We conduct experiments on 7 datasets using 5 knowledge bases in different downstream tasks. Our investigation reveals promising results in all the tasks. The experiment also verifies that domain-specific knowledge is superior to open-domain knowledge in domain-specific task, and different knowledge bases have different performances in different tasks.

Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl (Oleaceae) leaves are valuable sources of phillygenin. This study aimed to isolate phillygenin from F. suspensa leaves and examine its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Phillygenin was successfully extracted and isolated from F. suspensa leaves after fermentation. Phillygenin significantly reduced the number of writhing induced by acetic acid, prolonged the latency period in the hot plate test, and inhibited the xylene-induced ear edema and carrageenan-induced paw edema in mice. In this study, we used meta-analysis to comprehensively evaluate the clinical efficacy of Kangfuxin Liquid in the treatment of diabetic patients with skin ulcers. Literature search was performed through PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Data. The retrieval was not limited by language, and the search period was from 2010 to October 12, 2020. Diabetic patients with skin ulcers were treated with Kangfuxin Liquid combined with basic treatment as the treatment group and only basic treatment as the control group. Stata16.0 software was used for system evaluation. A total of 11 studies and 874 patients were included. Meta-analysis showed that 11 studies compared the treatment efficacy between the two groups, and the results showed that the treatment efficacy in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group [OR = 5.38, 95% CI (3.52, 8.24), P < 0.001 ]. Among them, 9 studies compared the healing time of wounds. The healing time of the treatment group was significantly longer than that of the control group [SMD = −2.13, 95% CI (−2.85, −1.41), P < 0.001 ]. Five studies compared the length of stay, and the length of stay in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group [SMD = −3.68, 95% CI (−5.38, −1.97), P < 0.001 ]. Compared with basic treatment, Kangfuxin Liquid combined with basic treatment has an ideal effect in the treatment of diabetic skin ulcers, which can improve the overall treatment efficiency and shorten the wound rehabilitation time and the length of stay.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) have attracted much attention in recent years. Graphene-based materials (GMs) have been deemed as excellent adsorbents for the removal of EDCs. The objective of the present study was to understand how the cationic surfactants (CTAB; cetyltrimethylammonium nitrate) affect the adsorption of EDCs (17α-ethinyl estradiol (EE2) and bisphenol A (BPA)) on graphene oxide (GO), reduced graphene oxides (RGOs), and the few-layered commercial graphene (CG). It was observed that the presence of CTAB showed different effects on the adsorption of EDCs to different GMs. The adsorption of EDCs on GO was enhanced because of the enhanced hydrophobicity of GMs after the adsorption of CTAB and the newly formed hemimicelles by the adsorbed CTAB, which could serve as the partition phase for EDCs. Moreover, the electron donor-acceptor interaction and cation bridging effect of the –NH4+ group of the adsorbed CTAB between EDCs and GMs could also enhance the adsorption of EDCs to GMs. With the increase of the extent of GM reduction, the adsorption enhancement by the presence of CTAB weakened. This could be attributed to the competition and pore blockage effect caused by the adsorbed CTAB. It is worth noting that the enhancement of CTAB on the adsorption of BPA to GMs was more profound than that of EE2. This is likely because the pore blockage effect plays a less important role in the adsorption of BPA due to its smaller molecular diameter and deformable structure.

Objective This study aimed to evaluate the long-term outcomes of patients with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) associated with unilateral absence of a pulmonary artery (UAPA). Methods Patients diagnosed with PDA associated with UAPA between January 2005 and June 2019 were retrospectively enrolled in this study. Demographic and clinical characteristics, treatments, and follow-up information were evaluated. Results A total of 11 patients were diagnosed with PDA associated with UAPA. Percutaneous closure was successfully conducted in nine patients. The mean diameters of the PDA measured by aortogram and occluders were 5.3 ± 1.8 mm and 11.5 ± 3.9 mm, respectively. The median pulmonary systemic flow ratio (Qp:Qs) in five patients was 1.41, and the median total lung resistance was 12 Wood Units. The mean systolic pulmonary artery (PA) pressure was 68.3 ± 19.1 mmHg. In five patients with pre- and postprocedure catheter data, the systolic pulmonary arterial pressure decreased significantly after closure (from 77.0 ± 20.2 to 58.8 ± 17.5 mmHg; p = .024), as did the mean pulmonary arterial pressure (from 58.2 ± 14.6 to 39.0 ± 14.1 mmHg; p = .18). The PA pressure and heart size gradually decreased to normal levels in eight patients, and their quality of life was significantly improved. The ratio of lung to systemic circulation pressure was less than 0.75. Conclusions In appropriate patients with PDA associated with UAPA, transcatheter closure of PDA has the potential to improve PA hypertension. A ratio of lung to systemic circulation pressure less than 0.75 may be an important reference index for predicting whether PA pressure can be reduced to a normal level after occlusion.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have attracted extensive attention due to their regulatory role in various cellular processes. Emerging studies have indicated that lncRNAs are expressed to varying degrees after the growth and development of the nervous system as well as injury and degeneration, thus affecting various physiological processes of the nervous system. In this review, we have compiled various reported lncRNAs related to the growth and development of central and peripheral nerves and pathophysiology (including advanced nerve centers, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system) and explained how these lncRNAs play regulatory roles through their interactions with target-coding genes. We believe that a full understanding of the regulatory function of lncRNAs in the nervous system will contribute to understand the molecular mechanism of changes after nerve injury and will contribute to discover new diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets for nerve injury diseases.

Bluetongue virus (BTV), a member of the genus Orbivirus in the family Reoviridae, is transmitted by biting midges and causes severe disease in domestic and wild ruminants. In the present study, a BTV strain, BTV-20/GX015/China/2013 (GX015), was isolated from sentinel cattle in Guangxi, China. Virus neutralization tests and phylogenetic analyses based on genomic segments 2 (S2) and 6 (S6) indicated that GX015 belongs to BTV serotype 20 (BTV-20) and represents a new topotype within BTV-20 strains, which makes GX015 the first BTV-20 strain isolated in China. Genomic analyses suggested that the 10 genomic segments of GX015 originated from a reassortment event, in which S2 and S6 are derived from exotic BTV-20 strains (South Africa or Australia), whereas the remaining eight genomic segments are apparently of Chinese origin and most likely share the same ancestor with a Taiwanese BTV-12 strain. Background. Inflammation is a host defense mechanism in the body after it is infected and damaged. If inflammation is not treated in time, then it may cause a variety of diseases, such as cancer and autoimmune diseases. Herbal essential oils are natural extracts that can suppress inflammation effectively and are expected to be used in therapeutic drugs for anti-inflammatory diseases in the future. Aim of the review. We review the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of essential oils derived from 16 herbs. Materials and methods. We searched the literature of the fields of anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory herbal essential oil activity published in English within the past five years via databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, and The Web of Science). Results. A total of 1932 papers were found by searching, and 132 papers were screened after removing duplicates and reading article titles. Fifteen articles met the requirements to be included in this review. Among those selected, 11 articles reported in vivo research results, and 10 articles showed research results. Conclusion. Essential oils extracted from herbs can reduce inflammation by regulating the release of inflammatory cytokines involved in multiple signalling pathways. Herbal essential oils are expected to be developed as anti-inflammatory drugs.

Increasing evidence indicates that exposure to inflammation during pregnancy intensifies the offspring’s cognitive impairment during aging, which might be correlated with changes in some synaptic plasticity-related proteins. In addition, an enriched environment (EE) can significantly exert a beneficial impact on cognition and synaptic plasticity. However, it is unclear whether gestational inflammation combined with postnatal EE affects the changes in cognition and synaptic plasticity-related proteins during aging. In this study, pregnant mice were intraperitoneally injected with lipopolysaccharides (LPS, 50 μg/kg) or normal saline at days 15–17 of pregnancy. At 21 days after delivery, some LPS-treated mice were randomly selected for EE treatment. At the age of 6 and 18 months, Morris water maze (MWM) and western blotting were, respectively, used to evaluate or measure the ability of spatial learning and memory and the levels of postsynaptic plasticity-related proteins in the hippocampus, including postsynaptic density protein 95 (PSD-95), α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptor (AMPAR) GluA1 subunit, and Homer-1b/c. The results showed that 18-month-old control mice had worse spatial learning and memory and lower levels of these synaptic plasticity-related proteins (PSD-95, GluA1, and Homer-1b/c) than the 6-month-old controls. Gestational LPS exposure exacerbated these age-related changes of cognition and synaptic proteins, but EE could alleviate the treatment effect of LPS. In addition, the performance during learning and memory periods in the MWM correlated with the hippocampal levels of PSD-95, GluA1, and Homer-1b/c. Our results suggested that gestational inflammation accelerated age-related cognitive impairment and the decline of PSD-95, GluA1, and Homer-1b/c protein expression, and postpartum EE could alleviate these changes.
