As China's economic and social development enters a new stage, the role of innovation and entrepreneurship is becoming increasingly prominent, and its importance is also being emphasized. As the main force for future employment and national economic construction, college students naturally become the new force for innovation and entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is imperative for universities to carry out in-depth innovation and entrepreneurship education (IEE) for college students. Then, with the continuous development of social development needs and the professional growth needs of college students, the "innovation and entrepreneurship" education for college students should also be adjusted in a timely manner in terms of educational concepts, models, and methods. The IEE environment evaluation in universities under the background of " Double Innovation" is looked as multiple attribute decision-making (MADM). In this paper, the information entropy model is employed to calculate the objective weight of the evaluation attribute. Then, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Combined Compromise Solution (IVIF-CoCoSo) is built based on the Hamming distance and Euclid distance to cope with MADM under interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs). The new MADM method is proposed for IEE environment evaluation in universities under the background of " Double Innovation". Finally, the IVIF-CoCoSo approach is compared with existing methods to verify the effectiveness of IVIF-CoCoSo algorithm. The main contributions of this constructed paper are: (1) the IVIF-CoCoSo method is built based on the Hamming distance and Euclid distance. (2) the information entropy model is employed to calculate the objective weight of the evaluation attribute. (3) The new MADM method is proposed for IEE environment evaluation in universities under the background of " Double Innovation" based on IVIF-CoCoSo. Due to the large number of students, instructors teaching high enrollment courses often rely on traditional assignments such as scantron exams and research papers. While these types of assignments are functional and satisfy a purpose, they are typically not meaningful or pleasurable for students. In an introductory information technology course, the final paper was redesigned to focus on visuals rather than on written words. The redesigned visual learning experience – a digital infographic – gave students the opportunity to rely primarily on images rather than text to communicate their message about an emerging technology to an external audience. Throughout this creation process, where students had to analyze and synthesize complex information, they gained new understanding about their topic as they were thinking and making. Further, this experience had personal significance to the students – one that gave them a sense of pride and accomplishment. Innovation and entrepreneurship education is an important component of cultivating the comprehensive quality of college students and an important force in promoting economic and social development. Meanwhile, due to changes in the social environment and economic structure, traditional university education is no longer able to meet the needs of contemporary society. Innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students needs to keep up with the times, constantly update concepts and techniques, in order to adapt to the ever-changing social and economic environment. The innovation and entrepreneurship education evaluation in the application-oriented vocational colleges is a multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) problem. Recently, the TODIM and TOPSIS technique has been used to cope with MADM issues. The Type-2 neutrosophic numbers (T2NNs) are employed as a technique for characterizing uncertain information during the innovation and entrepreneurship education evaluation in the application-oriented vocational colleges. In this paper, the Type-2 neutrosophic number TODIM-TOPSIS (T2NN-TODIM-TOPSIS) technique is implemented to solve the MADM under T2NNs. Finally, a numerical case study for innovation and entrepreneurship education evaluation in the application-oriented vocational colleges and several comparative analysis is implemented to validate the proposed T2NN-TODIM-TOPSIS technique. The main research contribution of this paper is managed: (1) the TODIM and TOPSIS technique was enhanced with T2NNs; (2) Entropy technique is enhanced to manage the weight values with T2NNs. Function-Based (FB) representations of complex systems play an important role in Biologically Inspired Design (BID) by easing the knowledge interchange among biologists, engineers and designers. Many representations have been proposed by scholars over the years, but none of them has ever become a clear favorite. As a matter of fact, each model represents the system from a distinctive perspective. This paper explores the effects of these different representations as creative stimuli for students in order to obtain recommendations for fostering innovation in education and training practices. After introducing a selection of FB models for BID, the paper describes an experiment designed to allow a quantitative comparison of the outcomes of a BID design challenge among undergraduate students attending a course on methods and tools for conceptual design. In this paper, we introduced some calculating laws on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs), Hamacher sum and Hamacher product and further propose the induced interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Hamacher power ordered weighted geometric (I-IVIFHPOWG) operator. Meanwhile, we also study some ideal properties of built operator. Then, we apply the I-IVIFHPOWG operator to deal with the MADM problems under IVIFSs. This paper describes and examines how Singapore attempts to implement ICT in education through its three Masterplans for ICT in Education since 1997. It analyses the management approach during the implementation of Masterplans One and Two and highlights the inadequacies of a linear Newtonian model of ICT implementation for Masterplan Three. This paper posits that for Singapore to venture into an uncharted era of educational ICT innovation, the new educational ICT management paradigm should be based on complexity rather than a linear Newtonian model. In particular, it should be one that promotes the recognition of the education system as a complex adaptive system; promotes loose coupling between headquarters and schools, and among schools; promotes organisation around intelligences rather than fixed structures; and promotes integration through purpose rather than policy. The paper introduces the UK Open Textbook project and discusses its success factors with regards to promoting open practice and open pedagogy. Textbooks remain a core part of educational provision in science. Open Textbooks are openly licensed academic textbooks, wherein the digital version is available freely, and the print version at reduced cost. They are a form of Open Educational Resource (OER). In recent years a number of openly-licensed textbooks have demonstrated high impact in countries including the USA, Canada and South Africa. The UK Open Textbooks project piloted several established approaches to the use and promotion open textbooks (focusing on STEM subjects) in a UK context between 2017 and 2018. The project had two main aims: to promote the adoption of open textbooks in the UK; and to investigate the transferability of the successful models of adoption that have emerged in North America. Through a number of workshops at a range of higher education institutions and targeted promotion at specific education conferences, the project successfully raised the profile of open textbooks within the UK. Several case studies report existing examples of open textbook use in UK science were recorded. There was considerable interest and appetite for open textbooks amongst UK academics. This was partly related to cost savings for students, but more significant factors were the freedom to adapt and develop textbooks and OER. This is consistent with a range of research that has taken place in other countries and suggests the potential for impact on UK science education is high. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The information disciplines are rapidly developing and that development brings twofold challenge for library and information science (LIS) education; in terms of delivering the content, and in terms of the content itself. The former means that, as with any other discipline, it needs to implement new technologies and didactic approaches to provide its students with better learning experiences, greater retention of knowledge, and skills for rapidly changing and challenging labour market. The latter means that LIS education needs to train its students to understand how technical and social changes affect diverse information ecologies and successfully work in such environments. To address these ideas this paper aims to investigate how trends in LIS education are identified, implemented and evaluated in the LIS study programmes, both in terms of technology used for teaching, and in terms of teaching methods. The methodology used to address the research questions and objectives consisted of a literature review of the topic, a content analysis of LIS curricula from a sample of eight European universities that offer education in the LIS field, and an interview study with programme directors from the respective universities. The results have shown that there is a strong and positive culture of innovation in the LIS field that derives from the identity of the discipline and its natural inclination towards responding promptly to social and technical changes. Diverse didactic methods are applied in the analysed study programmes with an aim to offer a more flexible, authentic and individually tailored learning experience. There are obstacles in implementing innovations, and they usually arise from a mismatch between efforts to innovate and how university policies and procedure support those efforts. This conceptual paper will discuss how faculty from The School of Library and Information Science at The University of South Carolina partnered with their university's Center for Teaching Excellence. This partnership resulted in the facilitation of professional development workshops and online tools for peer educators to better serve distance education/online students who are differently-able (students who are medically or socially labeled as having disabilities). The advance of mobile and wireless technologies in recent years is permitting the development of new and more complex context-aware and pervasive systems. These applications cover a wide spectrum of problems, sectors, scenarios, and environments that aim to build smart environments, such as educative innovation. In this paper we present a proposal for a pervasive system providing students the access to bibliographic sources recommended by teachers on the subjects or courses on which the students are enrolled. In order to define the educational contents of a subject or course the IMS Learning Design standard has been used. Finally, we describe the use of NFC (Near Field Communication) for the development of the proposed pervasive system, showing the usefulness of the proposal and user acceptance. Recent developments in Web technologies and using AI techniques to support efforts in making the Web more intelligent and provide higher-level services to its users have opened the door to building the Semantic Web. That fact has a number of important implications for Web-based education, since Web-based education has become a very important branch of educational technology. Classroom independence and platform independence of Web-based education, availability of authoring tools for developing Web-based courseware, cheap and efficient storage and distribution of course materials, hyperlinks to suggested readings, digital libraries, and other sources of references relevant for the course are but a few of a number of clear advantages of Web-based education. However, there are several challenges in improving Web-based education, such as providing for more adaptivity and intelligence. Developments in the Semantic Web, while contributing to the solution to these problems, also raise new issues that must be considered if we are to progress. E-learning settings such as on-line courses offered in China often involve large numbers of geographically dispersed students who have diverse professional background, learning preferences, and disparate learning needs. However, current e-learning and classroom teaching methods are extremely limited with respect to personalized learning as they typically provide the same content to all students. Hence, students are finding it difficult to make a decision about which learning materials best meet their personal demands, whilst instructors are finding it almost impossible to recommend personalized materials most appropriate to students since the individual study situations are disparate and hard to analyze. This paper proposes an e-learner Community Building strategy based on Hebbian Learning Rule, which helps learners to set up trusted neighbor connections to peer students with similar study situations. In addition, students can get useful recommendations for proper learning resources from their peers. Based on this theory a recommendation platform has been developed that enables a learner to enquire recommendations, vote on recommended resources and communicate with neighbor learners. Experimental results derived from real learner data have shown that this system can organize learners properly and efficiently, and the cooperative recommendation service indeed improves the students' learning achievements. Inspectable student models focus on the idea of letting students and teachers interact with the representation of the student that the system maintains. Both humans and the system can benefit from this interaction. By externalizing the student model and making it an object for inspection, several representational and interaction issues arise. This paper presents ViSMod (Visualization of Bayesian Student Models) an integrated tool to visualize and inspect distributed Bayesian student models. Using ViSMod, students and teachers can understand, explore, inspect, and modify Bayesian student models. ViSMod offers a practical tool that helps students and teachers to engage in negotiated assessment processes. Student models in ViSMod follow the Bayesian belief net backbone structure proposed by Reye (1996), which describes both cognitive and social aspects of the student. In addition, we report on a usability study of the ViSMod tool and an exploratory study focused on the effects of employing various levels of guidance and support in the way students interact with inspectable Bayesian student models. One goal of open science is making research processes like analysis more open and traceable. To contribute to this aim, we designed an open digital research environment based on Semantic MediaWiki technology to be used for the qualitative collaborative analysis method of objective hermeneutics. The environment was used in university seminars in which students learned the analysis method in a research-based learning setting. This article examines added values of open analysis in learning and teaching of qualitative research methods. It outlines the potentials of the environment like guiding students through digital structures, and retracing the collaborative interpretation processes, but as well discusses the pedagogical boundaries of open online collaborative work. In the field of international human resource management, a widely held assumption identifies expatriation as a completely enriching experience which provides employees with knowledge of high value and contributes to enhancing general management capacity [24]. This research investigates the effect of expatriation on knowledge transfer as a driver for innovation and performance. The study uses the case of international faculty in a higher education institution to shed light on the interplay between sharing international experiences, facilitating knowledge transfer, and generating value. Following a thorough literature review, research on knowledge transfer processes within the education sector remains limited. We still have little guidance on the mechanisms enabling knowledge transfer inside universities, particularly when promoting faculty mobility or hiring international faculty and researchers. This research adopts a single case study method while using Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, an international higher education institution, as a context of investigation. The study involved international faculty from the schools of engineering, business, and humanities and also Moroccan faculty who received their education abroad to explore the processes of experience and knowledge sharing among diverse workforce and how such processes could lead to creating a space for knowledge transfer that enables in turn better innovation and performance. The findings of this research show the limited knowledge transfer dynamics inside internationally-oriented higher education institutions and demonstrate the importance of adopting human resource development practices as facilitating mechanisms to support knowledge transfer while involving and benefitting various stakeholders. The study suggests different developmental venues for universities to support knowledge transfer from international faculty including teamwork, training and faculty orientation, collaborative research projects, resources and incentives, and industry-oriented educational and consulting programs. This research has the potential to lay the foundations of a theoretical framework integrating knowledge transfer and value generation dynamics within the context of higher education. The present article takes up a normative/theoretical framework for a life-long Integral Education that is expected to promote personal, societal and global amenities for a viable and bright human future. Such an Integral Education may conduce over time to a steady shift to a 'decent and sustainable' paradigm from the prevailing 'explosive and unsustainable' paradigm. This article begins with a brief and critical discussion of the prevailing global conditions, by delving into the characteristics of the modern mind, civilization and democracy. In this regards, the rapid 'modernization' by means of modern education in Japan, along with the biased Japanese interpretations of modern concepts, is briefly dealt with as a typical example antithetical to the Integral Education. This brief discussion is to set the stage for the theoretical presentation of dynamic social value system, personal-and-societal development, life-long education and long-lasting happiness. All these presentations based on the respective diagrammatic frameworks reveal the importance of constantly enriched holistic culture ('Culture'), social value system and educational innovations for the Integral Education. This article also suggests the required collaborative endeavors of social constituents at large for the Integral Education that conduces to a long-lasting happiness and Sustainable Development.
