A Gram-stain-negative, light khaki, strictly aerobic, rod-shaped, motile via multiple flagella, and catalase- and oxidase-positive bacterium, designated as SSM4.3T, was isolated from the seaweed of Gouqi Island in the East China Sea. The novel isolate grows at 0–5.0% NaCl concentrations (w/v) (optimum 1%), pH 5.0–9.0 (optimum pH 7.0), and 15–37 °C (optimum 30 °C). The 16S rRNA gene sequences-based phylogeny indicates that the novel marine isolate belongs to the family Rhizobiaceae and that it shared the greatest sequence similarity (98.9%) with Peteryoungia rhizophila CGMCC 1.15691T. This classification was also supported by phylogenetic analysis using core genes. The predominant fatty acids (≥ 10%) of the strain were identified as C18:1 ω7c/C18:1 ω6c. Q-10 was identified as the major isoprenoid quinone, with trace levels of Q-9 present. The major polar lipids were identified as diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylglycerol. The complete genome size of strain SSM4.3T is 4.39 Mb with a DNA G+C content of 61.3%. The average nucleotide identity, digital DNA-DNA hybridization, and average amino acid identity values between the genomes of strain SSM4.3T and its closely related representatives were 74.80–86.93%, 20.00–32.30%, and 70.30–91.52%, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis, grounded on the core genes, reveals the evolutionary relationship between SSM4.3T and other Peteryoungia strains. Pan-genomics analysis of 8 previously classified Peteryoungia species and SSM4.3T revealed their unique genetic features and functions. Overall, strain SSM4.3T was considered to be a new species of the Peteryoungia genus; the name Peteryoungia algae sp. nov. has been proposed, with type strain SSM4.3T (= LMG 32561 = MCCC 1K07170). A novel bacterium designated as SSA5.23T was isolated from seawater. Cells of SSA5.23T are Gram-stain-negative, short, rod-shaped, and exhibit motility via numerous peritrichous flagella. The strain could grow at temperatures ranging from 15 to 35 °C (optimum at 25 °C), in a salinity range of 0–5.0% (w/v) NaCl, and within a pH range of 6.0–9.0 (optimum at pH 7.0). The predominant cellular fatty acid of SSA5.23T was C18:1 ω7c/C18:1 ω6c, and the major respiratory quinones were Q-9 and Q-10. Diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylglycerol were identified as the primary polar lipids. The complete genome (5.47 Mb) of SSA5.23T comprises of a circular chromosome of 3.64 Mb and three plasmids, specifically sized at 59.73 kb, 227.82 kb, and 1.54 Mb, respectively. Certain genes located on the plasmids play roles in denitrification, oxidative stress resistance, and osmotic tolerance, which likely contribute to the adaptability of this strain in marine conditions. Core-proteome average amino acid identity analysis effectively identified the strain's affiliation with the genus Affinirhizobium, showing the highest value (89.9%) with Affinirhizobium pseudoryzae DSM 19479T. This classification was further supported by the phylogenetic analysis of concatenated alignment of 170 single-copy orthologous proteins. When compared to related reference strains, SSA5.23T displayed an average nucleotide identity ranging from 74.9 to 80.3% and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values ranging from 19.9 to 23.9%. Our findings confirmed that strain SSA5.23T represents a novel species of the genus Affinirhizobium, for which the name Affinirhizobium gouqiense sp. nov. The superconductivity in systems containing dispersionless (flat) bands is seemingly paradoxical, as traditional Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer theory requires an infinite enhancement of the carrier masses. However, the combination of flat and steep (dispersive) bands within the multiple band scenario might boost superconducting responses, potentially explaining high-temperature superconductivity in cuprates and metal hydrides. Here, we report on the magnetic penetration depths, the upper critical field, and the specific heat measurements, together with the first-principles calculations for the Mo5Si3−xPx superconducting family. The band structure features a flat band that gradually approaches the Fermi level as a function of phosphorus doping x, reaching the Fermi level at x ≃ 1.3. This leads to an abrupt change in nearly all superconducting quantities. The superfluid density data placed on the ’Uemura plot‘ results in two separated branches, thus indicating that the emergence of a flat band enhances correlations between conducting electrons.R. In view of novel materials in the field of lithium metal batteries (LMBs), metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted extensive research interest owing to their controllable pore size, unsaturated metal sites and multifunctional organic groups. A variety of MOFs have been elaborately calculated and synthesized to be applied as separator coating, electrolyte modulators and solid-state electrolyte fillers in LMBs. In this mini-review, we summarize the mechanism of MOFs to limit the migration of anions, improve the Li-ion transference number and prolong the lifespan of LMBs. Suitable pore structure of MOFs can physically restrict the movement of Li+. Unsaturated metal sites can adsorb anions by electrostatic interaction. In addition, multifunctional organic functional groups that limit the migration of anions are discussed. A series of novel atropisomeric diphosphine ligands termed TanPhos were designed and synthesized, which has a smaller bite angle compared with that of other ligands such as BINAP. TanPhos showed high reactivity and enantioselectivity in the rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of a-dehydro amino ketones, and up 99% yield and 99% ee were obtained for a wide range of chiral α-amino ketones. The origin of superconductivity observed at the point contact between the normal metal tip and the topological material remains uncertain due to the potential presence of superconducting elements or allotropes impurities. It is imperative to seek out a topological material entirely free of superconducting impurities and induce superconductivity between it and normal tips to verify the source of the induced superconductivity. Here, we report the observation of superconductivity up to 9 K induced at point contacts between normal metal tips and the topological material grey arsenic, which is free of superconductivity. The determined temperature dependencies of superconducting gaps Δ(T) deviate from the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) superconductivity law, exhibiting abnormal behavior. Furthermore, the highly anisotropic upper critical field Hc2(T) suggests the anisotropy of the projected interfacial Fermi surface. By tuning the junction resistance, we obtained a negative correlation between the superconducting gap A and the effective barrier height Z, which validates the interfacial coupling strength as a key factor in the observed tip-induced superconductivity. Developing catalysts with both useful enantioselectivities and million turnover numbers (TONs) for asymmetric hydrogenation of ketones is attractive for industrial production of high-value bioactive chiral entities but remains a challenging. Herein, we report an ultra-efficient anionic Ir-catalyst integrated with the concept of multidentate ligation for asymmetric hydrogenation of ketones. Biocatalysis-like efficacy of up to 99% ee (enantiomeric excess), 13,425,000 TON (turnover number) and 224 s−1 TOF (turnover frequency) were documented for benchmark acetophenone. Up to 1,000,000 TON and 99% ee were achieved for challenging pyridyl alkyl ketone where at most 10,000 TONs are previously reported. The anionic Ir-catalyst showed a novel preferred ONa/MH instead of NNa/MH bifunctional mechanism. A selective industrial route to enantiopure nicotine has been established using this anionic Ir-catalyst for the key asymmetric hydrogenation step at 500 kg batch scale, providing 40 tons scale of product. The development of catalysts for practical asymmetric hydrogenation of ketones remains an important goal of synthetic organic chemistry. A novel Gram-staining negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain YIM DDC1T, was isolated from an estuary sediment sample of Dongda River flowing into Dianchi lake in Yunnan, southwest China. The strain displayed growth at 10–40 °C (optimum of 28 °C), pH 5.0–9.0 (optimum of 7.0–8.0) and in presence of 0–3% (w/v) NaCl (optimum of 0–1%). Strain YIM DDC1T comprised diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylcholine and two unidentified aminolipids as the predominant polar lipids; the ubiquinone 10 as the major respiratory quinone; and summed feature 8 (C18:1ω6c and/or C18:1ω7c), summed feature 3 (C16:1ω7c and/or C16:1ω6c) and C18:1 2-OH as the major cellular fatty acids. Analysis of 16S rRNA showed that YIM DDC1T represents a member of the genus Azospirillum, and was closely related to A. brasilense ATCC 29145 T (98.9%), A. baldaniorum Sp245T (98.2%), A. argentinense Az39T (98.2%) and A. formosense CC-Nfb-7 T (98.2%). The draft genome size was 7.15 Mbp with a 68.4% G + C content. The average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) values between strain YIM DDC1T and the aforementioned closely related strains exhibited similarity in the range of 93.8–93.5% and 53.7–52.7%, respectively. nif gene cluster (nifHDK) and denitrification genes ((napA, nirS, nirK, norBC and nosZ) detected in the genome indicated its potential nitrogen fixation and full-fledged denitrifying function. Based on combined genotypic and phenotypic data, strain YIM DDC1T represents a novel species of the genus Azospirillum, for which the name Azospirillum aestuarii sp. nov. is proposed. Reverse osmosis (RO) is widely used in wastewater reclamation to alleviate the increasingly global water shortage. However, it has an inconvenient defect of biofouling. Some disinfection processes have been reported to select certain undesirable disinfection-residual bacteria (DRB), leading to severe long-term biofouling potential. To provide constructive guidance on biofouling prevention in RO systems, this study performed a 32-day experiment to parallelly compared the biofouling characteristics of RO membranes of DRB after five mature water disinfection methods (NaClO, NH2Cl, ClO2, UV, and O3) and two recently developed water disinfection methods (K2FeO4 and flow-through electrode system). As a result, the DRB biofilm of K2FeO4 and O3 caused a slight normalised flux drop (22.4 ± 2.4% and 23.9 ± 1.7%) of RO membrane compared to the control group (non-disinfected, ~27% normalised flux drop). FES, UV, NaClO and ClO2 caused aggravated membrane flux drop (29.1 ± 0.3%, 33.3 ± 7.8%, 34.6 ± 6.4%, and 35.5 ± 4.0%, respectively). The biofouling behaviour showed no relationship with bacterial concentration or metabolic activity (p > 0.05). The thickness and compactness of the biofilms and the organics/bacterial number ratio in the biofilm, helped explain the difference in the fouling degree between each group. Moreover, microbial community analysis showed that the relative abundance of typical highly EPS-secretory and biofouling-related genera, such as Pseudomonas, Sphingomonas, Acinetobacter, Methylobacterium, Sphingobium, and Ralstonia, were the main reasons for the high EPS secreting ability of the total bacteria, resulting in aggravation of biofouling degree (p < 0.05). Fibroblast growth factor-18 (FGF18) has diverse organ development and damage repair roles. However, its role in cardiac homeostasis following hypertrophic stimulation remains unknown. Here we investigate the regulation and function of the FGF18 in pressure overload (PO)-induced pathological cardiac hypertrophy. FGF18 heterozygous (Fgf18+/−) and inducible cardiomyocyte-specific FGF18 knockout (Fgf18-CKO) male mice exposed to transverse aortic constriction (TAC) demonstrate exacerbated pathological cardiac hypertrophy with increased oxidative stress, cardiomyocyte death, fibrosis, and dysfunction. In contrast, cardiac-specific overexpression of FGF18 alleviates hypertrophy, decreased oxidative stress, attenuates cardiomyocyte apoptosis, and ameliorates fibrosis and cardiac function. Tyrosine-protein kinase FYN (FYN), the downstream factor of FGF18, was identified by bioinformatics analysis, LC-MS/MS and experiment validation. Mechanistic studies indicate that FGF18/FGFR3 promote FYN activity and expression and negatively regulate NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4), thereby inhibiting reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and alleviating pathological cardiac hypertrophy. This study uncovered the previously unknown cardioprotective effect of FGF18 mediated by the maintenance of redox homeostasis through the FYN/NOX4 signaling axis in male mice, suggesting a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of cardiac hypertrophy. A novel bacterium designated A3.4T was isolated from the beach sediment of Zhairuo Island, which is located in the East China Sea. Strain A3.4T was found to be Gram-stain negative, cream coloured, rod-shaped, aerobic and motile via a single monopolar flagellum. The isolate grows at 20–37 °C (optimum 25–30 °C), at pH 6.0–8.0 (optimum pH 7.0–8.0), and in the presence of 0–5.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 0.5–1%). A3.4T has catalase and oxidase activity. The predominant fatty acids (≥ 10%) of the strain were identified as C16:0, summed feature 3 (C16:1ω7c /C16:1ω6c) and summed feature 8 (C18:1ω7c /C18:1ω6c). Q-9 was identified as the major isoprenoid quinone, with trace levels of Q-8 present. The major polar lipids were identified as diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylglycerol. The draft genome size is 3.55 Mb, with a DNA G + C content of 57.7 mol%. Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain A3.4T indicates that it belongs to the genus Atopomonas and shares high sequence similarity with Atopomonas hussainii JCM 19513T (97.60%). This classification was also supported by phylogenetic analysis using rpoB and several core genes. The genome of strain A3.4T shows an average nucleotide identity of 82.3%, an amino acid identity of 83.0%, and a digital DNA–DNA hybridization value of 22.1% with A. hussainii. In addition, 20 conserved signature indels (CSIs) were identified to be specific for A3.4T and A. hussainii, demonstrating that the strain A3.4T is closely related to A. hussainii rather than other species of family Pseudomonadaceae. Hundreds of unique genes were identified in the genomes of A3.4T and A. hussainii, which may underly multiple phenotypic differences between these strains. Based on phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, phylogenetic, and genomic investigations, strain A3.4T is concluded to represent a novel species of the genus Atopomonas, for which the name Atopomonas sediminilitoris sp. nov. is proposed. A geothermal energy pile is a revolutionary piling technique that combines a pile foundation with a ground source heat pump system that not only supports the structure but also provides heating and cooling for buildings and bridges. The thermo-mechanical behavior of long energy piles in soft clay has rarely been investigated, despite their increasing utilization. A long floating energy pile with a length-to-diameter ratio of 66.7 was evaluated on its own and monitored in service of the supported structure in the city of Kunshan, China. With vertical mechanical loads, the experiment involved alternate cooling and heating cycles, allowing for careful analysis and assessment of the pile's temperature, stress, and displacement. Temperature-induced stress, axial force, and friction resistance of the pile shaft, as well as the change in displacement of the energy pile throughout building, were all studied. The field observations revealed without any surprise that a longer energy pile outperformed a shorter one in terms of heating exchange capacity with a more homogenous temperature distribution along the pile. Following a quasi-linear relationship with the temperature variation, the thermo-induced additional axial force soared with the larger length-diameter ratio of the pile and may even reach four times that of the pile under pure mechanical loads. Important additional settlements were also observed especially in cooling conditions. Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) consists of a group of hematologic tumors that are derived from the clonal proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells, featuring abnormal hematopoietic cell development and ineffective hematopoiesis. Animal models are an important scientific research platform that has been widely applied in the research of human diseases, especially tumors. Animal models with MDS can simulate characteristic human genetic variations and tumor phenotypes. They also provide a reliable platform for the exploration of the pathogenesis and diagnostic markers of MDS as well as for a drug efficacy evaluation. Construction of C-N bond continues to be one part of the most significant goals in organic chemistry because of the universal applications of amines in pharmaceuticals, materials and agrochemicals. However, E2 elimination through classic SN2 substitution of alkyl halides lead to generation of alkenes as major side-products. Thus, formation of a challenging C(sp3)-N bond especially on tertiary carbon center remains highly desirable. Herein, we present a practical alternative to prepare primary, secondary and tertiary alkyl amines with high efficiency between alkyl iodides and easily accessible diazonium salts. This robust transformation only employs Cs2CO3 promoting halogen-atom transfer (XAT) process under transition-metal-free reaction conditions, thus providing a rapid method to assemble diverse C(sp3)-N bonds. Moreover, diazonium salts served as alkyl radical initiator and amination reagent in the reaction. Mechanism studies suggest this reaction undergo through halogen-atom transfer process to generate active alkyl radical which couples with diazonium cations to furnish final products. Chiral succinimide moieties are ubiquitous in biologically active natural products and pharmaceuticals. Until today, despite the great interest, little success has been made for stereodivergent synthesis of chiral succinimides. Here, we report a general and efficient method for accessing 3,4-disubstituted succinimides through a dynamic kinetic resolution strategy based on asymmetric transfer hydrogenation. The Rh catalyst system exhibit high activities, enantioselectivities, and diastereoselectivities (up to 2000 TON, up to >99% ee, and up to >99:1 dr). Products with syn- and anti-configuration are obtained separately by control of the reaction conditions. For the N-unprotected substrates, both the enol and the imide group can be reduced by control of reaction time and catalyst loading. In addition, the detailed reaction pathway and origin of stereoselectivity are elucidated by control experiments and theoretical calculations. This study offers a straightforward and stereodivergent approach to the valuable enantioenriched succinimides (all 4 stereoisomers) from cheap chemical feedstocks in a single reaction step. Objectives: To evaluate the association between adipose tissue distribution and early allograft dysfunction (EAD) in liver transplantation (LT) recipients. Methods: A total of 175 patients who received LT from April 2015 to September 2020 were enrolled in this retrospective study. The areas of abdominal adipose tissue and skeletal muscle of all patients were measured based on the preoperative CT images. The appropriate statistical methods including the propensity score-matched (PSM) analysis were performed to identify the association between adipose tissue distribution and EAD. Results: Of 175 LT recipients, 55 patients (31.4%) finally developed EAD. The multivariate logistic analysis revealed that preoperative serum albumin (odds ratio (OR) 0.34, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.17–0.70), platelet–lymphocyte ratio (OR 2.35, 95% CI 1.18–4.79), and visceral adipose tissue (VAT) area (OR 3.17, 95% CI 1.56–6.43) were independent associated with EAD. After PSM analysis, VAT area was still significantly associated with EAD (OR 3.95, 95% CI 1.16–13.51). In survival analysis, no significant difference was identified in one-year graft failure (log-rank: p = 0.487), and conversely result was identified in overall survival (OS) (log-rank: p = 0.012; hazard ratio (HR) 4.10, 95% CI 1.27–13.16). Conclusions: LT recipients with high VAT area have higher risk for the occurrence of EAD, and high VAT area might have certain clinical value for predicting the poor OS of patients. Purpose: Pulmonary fibrosis is a life-threatening lung disorder. A comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiological changes in the development of pulmonary fibrosis will lead to new insights into its treatment. Methods: We used a paraquat (PQ)-induced rhesus monkey model of pulmonary fibrosis to comprehensively investigate the process of pulmonary fibrosis development. Rhesus monkeys were orally administered PQ at concentrations of 25 mg/kg, 40 mg/kg, and 80 mg/kg. The dose was given once. Behavior and clinical data, such as PQ concentration, arterial oxygen saturation, biochemical evaluation, lung histopathology, and medical imaging, were continuously observed. Results: Paraquat-exposed monkeys developed pulmonary fibrosis following an expected time course, especially at 25 mg/kg. CT images showed ground-glass lesions in the lung after 4 weeks, and pulmonary fibrosis persisted until the end of follow-up. Using pathological examination, the lung sustained collagen deposition and slight inflammatory cell infiltration. All rhesus monkeys had obvious inflammatory infiltration within 1 week according to the immunohistochemical results and the number of leukocytes in the blood. The CT results showed that pulmonary fibrosis had not formed, indicating that drugs with powerful anti-inflammatory ability are potential candidates for early pulmonary fibrosis treatment. Conclusion: Our study describes the dynamic process of paraquat-induced pulmonary fibrosis in rhesus monkeys and provided a pathophysiological basis for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. A Gram-negative, aerobic, non-motile, oxidase-positive, catalase-positive, methyl red-positive, and lipase-negative bacterium, designated A5.8T, was isolated from beach sediment of Zhairuo Island located in the East China Sea. Growth occurred at 10–40 °C (optimum, 30 °C), pH 5.5–9.5 (optimum, 7.5), and 0–2% NaCl (optimum, 1.5%). Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain A5.8T belongs to the genus Ancylobacter, sharing the highest similarity with Ancylobacter aquaticus JCM 20518T (98.0%). Its polar lipids mainly consist of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and phosphatidylcholine (PC). The predominant fatty acids are summed feature 8 (C18:1ω7c and/or C18:1ω6c, 91.0%), and the major respiratory quinone is Q-10. The DNA G + C content is 67.2 mol%. Based on above analysis, as well as digital DNA–DNA hybridization (22.5–22.9%) and average nucleotide identity (83.0–83.6%) of strain A5.8T with reference type strains of the genus Ancylobacter, strain A5.8T was suggested to represent a novel species of the genus Ancylobacter, for which the name Ancylobacter gelatini sp. nov. is proposed. Biosurfactants (BSs) are known for their remarkable properties, however, their commercial applications are hampered partly by the high production cost. To overcome this issue, a biosurfactant producing strain, Rhodotorula sp.CC01 was isolated using landfill leachate as nitrogen source, while olive oil was determined as the best sole carbon source. The BS produced by Rhodotorula sp.CC01 had oil displacement diameter of 19.90 ± 0.10 cm and could reduce the surface tension of water to 34.77 ± 0.63 mN/m. It was characterized as glycolipids by thin layer chromatography, FTIR spectra, and GC–MS analysis, with the critical micelle concentration of 70 mg/L. Meanwhile, the BS showed stability over a wide range of pH (2–12), salinity (0–100 g/L), and temperature (20–100 °C). During the cultivation process, BS was produced with a maximum rate of 163.33 mg L−1 h−1 and a maximum yield of 1360 mg/L at 50 h. In addition, the removal efficiency of NH4+–N reached 84.2% after 75 h cultivation with a maximum NH4+–N removal rate of 3.92 mg L−1 h−1. Moreover, Rhodotorula sp.CC01 has proven to be of great potential in remediating petroleum hydrocarbons, as revealed by chromogenic assays. Furthermore, genes related to nitrogen metabolism and glycolipid metabolism were found in this strain CC01 after annotating the genome data with KEGG database, such as narB, glycoprotein glucosyltransferase, acetyl-CoA C-acetyltransferase, LRA1, LRA3, and LRA4. Phenolic acids are important taste components in green tea. The aim of this study was to analyze the taste characteristics of phenolic acids and their influence on the bitterness and astringency of green tea by sensory evaluation and chemical determination. The major tea phenolic acids and quercetin-3-O-rutinoside (Que-rut) were significantly positively correlated with the bitterness (r = 0.757, p < 0.01; r = 0.605, p < 0.05) and astringency (r = 0.870, p < 0.01; r = 0.576, p < 0.05) of green tea infusion. The phenolic acids have a sour and astringent taste, whereas Que-rut has a mild astringent taste. Phenolic acids and Que-rut can increase the bitterness of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). However, these components behaved differently for astringency on EGCG. Gallic acid (GA) enhances the astringency throughout all the concentrations in this study. While it seemed to be double effects of caffeic acid (CA), chlorogenic acid (CGA), and Que-rut on that, i.e., the inhibition at lower concentrations (CA: 0–0.2 mM; CGA: 0–0.2 mM; Que-rut: 0–0.05 mM) but enhancement at higher ones. The phenolic acids and Que-rut interacted synergistically with tea infusion and as their concentration increased, the synergistic enhancement of the bitterness and astringency of tea infusion increased. Vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs) are widely applied in energy storage systems (e.g., wind energy, solar energy), while the poor activity of commonly used carbon-based electrode limits their large-scale application. In this study, the graphene modified carbon felt (G/CF) with a large area of 20 cm × 20 cm has been successfully prepared by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) strategy, achieving outstanding electrocatalytic redox reversibility of the VRFBs. The decorating graphene can provide abundant active sites for the vanadium redox reactions. Compared with the pristine carbon felt (CF) electrode, the G/CF composite electrode possesses more defective sites on surface, which enhances activity toward VO2+/VO2+ couple and electrochemical performances. For instance, such G/CF electrode delivered remarkable voltage efficiency (VE) of 88.4% and energy efficiency (EE) of 86.4% at 100 mA·cm−2, much higher than CF electrode by 2.1% and 3.78%, respectively. The long-term cycling stability of G/CF electrode was further investigated and a high retention value of 47.6% can be achieved over 600 cycles. It is demonstrated that this work develops a promising and effective strategy to synthesize the large size of carbon electrode with high performances for the next-generation VRFBs. Lung cancer screening based on low-dose CT (LDCT) has now been widely applied because of its effectiveness and ease of performance. Radiologists who evaluate a large LDCT screening images face enormous challenges, including mechanical repetition and boring work, the easy omission of small nodules, lack of consistent criteria, etc. It requires an efficient method for helping radiologists improve nodule detection accuracy with efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Many novel deep neural network-based systems have demonstrated the potential for use in the proposed technique to detect lung nodules. However, the effectiveness of clinical practice has not been fully recognized or proven. Therefore, the aim of this study to develop and assess a deep learning (DL) algorithm in identifying pulmonary nodules (PNs) on LDCT and investigate the prevalence of the PNs in China. Radiologists and algorithm performance were assessed using the FROC score, ROC-AUC, and average time consumption. Agreement between the reference standard and the DL algorithm in detecting positive nodules was assessed per-study by Bland–Altman analysis. The Lung Nodule Analysis (LUNA) public database was used as the external test. The prevalence of NCPNs was investigated as well as other detailed information regarding the number of pulmonary nodules, their location, and characteristics, as interpreted by two radiologists. Asymmetric hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated acids catalyzed by noble metals has been well established, whereas, the asymmetric hydrogenation with earth-abundant-metal was rarely reported. Here, we describe a cobalt-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids. By using chiral cobalt catalyst bearing electron-donating diphosphine ligand, high activity (up to 1860 TON) and excellent enantioselectivity (up to >99% ee) are observed. Furthermore, the cobalt-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation is successfully applied to a broad spectrum of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids, such as various α-aryl and α-alkyl cinnamic acid derivatives, α-oxy-functionalized α,β-unsaturated acids, α-substituted acrylic acids and heterocyclic α,β-unsaturated acids (30 examples). The synthetic utility of the protocol is highlighted by the synthesis of key intermediates for chiral drugs (6 cases). Preliminary mechanistic studies reveal that the carboxy group may be involved in the control of the reactivity and enantioselectivity through an interaction with the metal centre. A large number of marketed drugs contains a chiral carboxylic acid scaffold. Several systematic reviews have investigated the accuracy of imaging modalities for lymph node involvement of rectal cancer, but there are considerable differences in conclusions. This overview aimed to assess the methodological and reporting quality of systematic reviews that evaluated the diagnostic value of imaging modalities for lymph node involvement in patients with rectal cancer and to compare the diagnostic value of different modalities for lymph node involvement. The PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library and Chinese Biomedicine Literature were searched to identify relevant systematic reviews. The methodological quality was assessed using the AMSTAR checklist, and the reporting quality was assessed using PRISMA-DTA checklist. The indirect comparison was conducted to compare the accuracy of different imaging modalities. Seven systematic reviews involving 353 primary studies were included. The median (Range) AMSTAR scores were 6.0 (4.0–9.0); the median (Range) PRISMA-DTA scores were 18.0 (11.0–23.0). Sensitivity of MRI [0.69 (95% CI 0.63, 0.77)] was significantly higher than that of ERUS [0.57 (95% CI 0.53, 0.62)]. Specificity of ERUS [0.80 (95% CI 0.77, 0.83)] was significantly higher than that of CT [0.72 (95% CI 0.67, 0.78)]. Positive likelihood ratio of EUS [3.04 (95% CI 2.75, 3.36)] was significantly higher than that of CT [2.21 (95% CI 1.69, 2.90)]. EUS had better diagnostic value than CT and ERUS in the diagnosis of lymph node involvement. Compared with CT and ERUS, MRI was more sensitive. In the present study, an analytical concept model is built, using a two-phase model for the sediment transport in a pure acceleration-skewed oscillatory sheet flow. The analytical model is based on the asymmetric wave theory, the irregular boundary layer theory and the exponential concentration distribution theory, to be used for analyzing the phase lag and the boundary layer development related to the acceleration skewness. The two-phase model is applied for the calculations of the instantaneous erosion depth, the sediment flux, the boundary layer thickness and the sediment transport rate, as well as the differences between the positive acceleration stage and the negative acceleration stage caused by the acceleration skewness, as very important in the net current and sediment transport. The effects of the sediment diameter and the phase lag are explained by a comparison with the instantaneous type empirical formula, as is closely related to the acceleration skewness. With the analytical concept model and the two-phase model, the generation of the net sediment transport in the pure acceleration-skewed flows is clearly explained. The phase lag effect is important for the instantaneous sediment transport in the pure acceleration-skewed flow, whereas the boundary layer development difference between the positive acceleration stage and the negative acceleration stage plays a major role in the determination of the net sediment transport. Flavor characteristics and chemical compositions of Tieguanyin oolong tea processed using different semi-fermentation times were investigated. Six flavor attributes of the teas, namely, astringency, bitterness, umami, sweet aftertaste, floral flavor, and green fruity flavor, were analysed. With extended semi-fermentation time, the taste intensity of sweet aftertaste increased, and the aroma intensity of floral and green fruity flavors increased, while the intensities of astringency, bitterness, and umami showed no clear trend. With increasing semi-fermentation time, the concentrations of gallated catechins, myricetin-rhamnose, quercetin-rutinoside, myricetin, and theanine greatly decreased, while those of total theaflavins, vitexin-rhamnose, kaempferol-galactose, kaempferol-rutinoside, vitexin, quercetin, and kaempferol increased significantly. The intensity of bitter taste was positively correlated with the concentrations of total catechins and gallated catechins. The intensity of astringent taste strongly correlated with the flavonoid concentrations, and that of sweet aftertaste positively correlated with the concentrations of (−)-epigallocatechin and (−)-epicatechin. However, dose-over-threshold analysis revealed that catechins, theaflavin, flavonol glycosides, and caffeine are the main taste-active compounds contributing to the taste of Tieguanyin oolong tea. The concentrations of total volatiles and most of the esters increased markedly with the semi-fermentation time, while the concentrations of low aldehydes showed a significant decrease. The flavor index was consistent with the intensity of floral aroma, increasing from 0.59 (12 h) to 0.84 (24 h) and then decreasing to 0.63 (32 h). In some image classification tasks, similarities among different categories are different and the samples are usually misclassified as highly similar categories. To distinguish highly similar categories, more specific features are required so that the classifier can improve the classification performance. In this paper, we propose a novel two-level hierarchical feature learning framework based on the deep convolutional neural network (CNN), which is simple and effective. First, the deep feature extractors of different levels are trained using the transfer learning method that fine-tunes the pre-trained deep CNN model toward the new target dataset. Second, the general feature extracted from all the categories and the specific feature extracted from highly similar categories are fused into a feature vector. Then the final feature representation is fed into a linear classifier. Finally, experiments using the Caltech-256, Oxford Flower-102, and Tasmania Coral Point Count (CPC) datasets demonstrate that the expression ability of the deep features resulting from two-level hierarchical feature learning is powerful. For HT-7 and EAST, the ion cyclotron range of frequency (ICRF) heating has been adopted as one of the most efficient auxiliary heating methods. At the ICRF experiment, scientists and engineers need to analyze experimental data and record information. But these data and information have been stored in a variety of formats, and these files have been stored in the different workstation computers. Now, these data and information are organized, centrally stored and released by the data and information management control system (DIMCS). The DIMCS provides a remote access platform, which permits the scientists and engineers browse all the experimental data and information, and allows record information. The fast ferrite tuning (FFT) real-time matching system has been designed and tested for the ion cyclotron range of frequency (ICRF) in EAST tokamak, which is necessary to transfer ICRF power to the plasma against variations in the antenna impedance. Through the test results, we proved this FFT system is feasible in EAST. Therefore this system have been upgraded recently to achieve real-time matching by the upgrading of the coil power supply and optimizing of the tuning structure. Finally the new FFT system achieved a response time of 10 ms and operated with a peak power of 1.5 MW, which satisfied the requirements of matching system in EAST. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the sunlight-fluctuating environment, plants often encounter both light-deficiency and light-excess cases. Therefore, regulation of light harvesting is absolutely essential for photosynthesis in order to maximize light utilization at low light and avoid photodamage of the photosynthetic apparatus at high light. Plants have developed a series of strategies of light-harvesting regulation during evolution. These strategies include rapid responses such as leaf movement and chloroplast movement, state transitions, and reversible dissociation of some light-harvesting complex of the photosystem II (LHCIIs) from PSII core complexes, and slow acclimation strategies such as changes in the protein abundance of light-harvesting antenna and modifications of leaf morphology, structure, and compositions. This review discusses successively these strategies and focuses on the rapid change in antenna size, namely reversible dissociation of some peripheral light-harvesting antennas (LHCIIs) from PSII core complex. It is involved in protective role and species dependence of the dissociation, differences between the dissociation and state transitions, relationship between the dissociation and thylakoid protein phosphorylation, and possible mechanism for thermal dissipation by the dissociated LHCIIs. A facile biomolecule-assisted hydrothermal route followed by calcination has been employed for the preparation of monoclinic yttrium oxysulfate hollow spheres doped with other rare-earth ions (Yb and Eu or Er). The formation of hollow spheres may involve Ostwald ripening. The resulting hybrid materials were used for upconversion applications. The host crystal structure allows the easy co-doping of two different rare-earth metal ions without significantly changing the host lattice. The luminescent properties were affected by the ratio and concentration of dopant rare-earth metal ions due to energy transfer and the symmetry of the crystal field. The type of luminescent center and the crystallinity of samples were also shown to have a significant influence on the optical properties of the as-prepared products. Protein activities controlled by receptor protein tyrosine phosphatases (RPTPs) play comparably important roles in transducing cell surface signals into the cytoplasm by protein tyrosine kinases. Previous studies showed that several RPTPs are involved in neuronal generation, migration, and axon guidance in Drosophila, and the vertebrate hippocampus, retina, and developing limbs. However, whether the protein tyrosine phosphatase type O ( ptpro), one kind of RPTP, participates in regulating vertebrate brain development is largely unknown. We isolated the zebrafish ptpro gene and found that its transcripts are primarily expressed in the embryonic and adult central nervous system. Depletion of zebrafish embryonic Ptpro by antisense morpholino oligonucleotide knockdown resulted in prominent defects in the forebrain and cerebellum, and the injected larvae died on the 4th day post-fertilization (dpf). We further investigated the function of ptpro in cerebellar development and found that the expression of ephrin- A5b ( efnA5b), a Fgf signaling induced cerebellum patterning factor, was decreased while the expression of dusp6, a negative-feedback gene of Fgf signaling in the midbrain-hindbrain boundary region, was notably induced in ptpro morphants. Further analyses demonstrated that cerebellar defects of ptpro morphants were partially rescued by inhibiting Fgf signaling. Moreover, Ptpro physically interacted with the Fgf receptor 1a (Fgfr1a) and dephosphorylated Fgfr1a in a dose-dependant manner. Therefore, our findings demonstrate that Ptpro activity is required for patterning the zebrafish embryonic brain.
