Research of capture mechanisms with strong capture adaptability and stable grasp is important to solve the problem of launch and recovery of torpedo-shaped autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). A multi-loop coupling capture mechanism with strong adaptability and high retraction rate has been proposed for the launch and recovery of torpedo-shaped AUVs with different morphological features. Firstly, the principle of capturing motion retraction is described based on the appearance characteristics of torpedo-shaped AUVs, and the configuration synthesis of the capture mechanism is carried out using the method of constrained chain synthesis. Secondly, the screw theory is employed to analyze the degree of freedom (DoF) of the capture mechanism. Then, the 3D model of the capture mechanism is established, and the kinematics and dynamics simulations are carried out. Combined with the capture orientation requirements of the capture mechanism, the statics and vibration characteristics analyses are carried out. Furthermore, considering the capture process and the underwater working environment, the motion characteristics and hydraulics characteristics of the capture mechanism are analyzed. Finally, a principle prototype is developed and the torpedo-shaped AUVs capture experiment is completed. Multi-agent cooperation and coordination are often essential for task fulfillment. Multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) can effectively learn the solutions to problems, but its application is still primarily restricted by the exploration–exploitation trade-off. Therefore, the focus of MADRL research is placed on how to effectively explore the environment and collect good experience with rich information to strengthen cooperative behaviors and optimize policy learning. To address this problem, we propose a novel multi-agent cooperation policy gradient method called multi-agent proximal policy optimization based on self-imitation learning and random network distillation (MAPPOSR). MAPPOSR consists of two policy gradient-based additional components, namely (1) random network distillation (RND) exploration bonus component that produces intrinsic rewards and encourages agents to access new states and actions, thereby helping them explore better trajectories and avoiding the algorithm prematurely converging or getting stuck in local optima; and (2) self-imitation learning (SIL) policy update component that stores and reuses high-return trajectory samples generated by agents themselves, thereby strengthening their cooperation and boosting learning efficiency. The experimental results show that in addition to effectively solving the hard-exploration problem, the proposed method significantly outperforms other SOTA MADRL algorithms in learning efficiency as well as in escaping local optima. Moreover, the effect of different function inputs on algorithm performance is investigated in the centralized training and decentralized execution (CTDE) framework, based on which a joint-observation coding method based on individual is developed. By encouraging the agent to focus more on the local observation information of other agents related to it and abandon global state information provided by the environment, the developed coding method can remove the effects of excessive value function input dimensions and redundant feature information on algorithm performance. Background: Early identification of abnormal left ventricular function in children with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is difficult using conventional echocardiographic indices and commonly used clinical markers of myocardial damage. We sought to investigate the value of automatic function imaging and myocardial work parameters in predicting early cardiac impairment in children having OSA with preserved left heart function and thereby identifying an optimal index for assessment. Patients and Methods: Fifty-two children who presented with symptoms of nocturnal sleep snoring and open-mouth breathing and 34 healthy controls were enrolled in this study. Clinical characteristics and conventional echocardiographic data were collected, and image analysis was performed using two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography to obtain left ventricular global longitudinal strain (GLS), post-systolic index, peak strain dispersion, global work index (GWI), global constructive work (GCW), global wasted work, and global work efficiency. Results: Children with OSA had significantly lower GLS, GWI, and GCW than those without (P < 0.05). Additionally, GWI (β = −32.87, 95% CI: −53.47 to −12.27), and GCW (β = −35.09, 95% CI: −55.35 to −14.84) were found to correlate with the disease severity in the multiple linear regression mode, with worsening values observed as the severity of the disease increased. ROC curve analysis revealed that GCW was the best predictor of myocardial dysfunction, with an AUC of 0.809 (P < 0.001), and the best cutoff point for diagnosing myocardial damage in children with OSA was 1965.5 mmHg%, with a sensitivity of 92.5% and a specificity of 58.7%. Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) for pulmonary artery (PA) masses. Methods: Of 2889 patients with PA filling defects of PA on CTPA, 79 consecutive patients suspicious for PA malignancy who subsequently underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT were enrolled. All masses were diagnosed on the basis of pathological findings or clinical imaging follow-up. For each mass, morphological CT signs, standardized uptake value (SUVmax and SUVmean), metabolic tumor volume (MTV), and total lesion glycolysis (TLG) on 18F-FDG PET/CT were used as diagnostic markers. Results: Expansive growth, irregular margin, invasion, CT contrast uptake, and wall eclipse sign were strongly associated with the malignant nature of masses. The coexistence of at least 5 CT signs perfectly identified malignant masses, whereas the detection of no more than 4 CT signs did not accurately discriminate between the natures of masses. Mean SUVmax, SUVmean, MTV, and TLG values were significantly higher in malignant masses compared to those in benign masses. The diagnostic accuracy of 18F-FDG PET/CT parameters (SUV, MTV, and TLG) was excellent in detecting malignant masses. Among patients with 3 or 4 pathological CT signs, SUVmax > 3.4 significantly increased the identification of malignancies. Conclusions: CTPA is a useful imaging modality for diagnosing PA masses, especially when at least 5 abnormal CT signs are identified. Similarly, 18F-FDG PET/CT accurately identified malignant masses and provided additional valuable information on diagnostic uncertainties after CTPA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of echinacoside (ECH) on cognitive dysfunction in post cerebral stroke model rats. Methods: The post stroke cognitive impairment rat model was created by occlusion of the transient middle cerebral artery (MCAO). The rats were randomly divided into 3 groups by a random number table: the sham group (sham operation), the MCAO group (received operation for focal cerebral ischemia), and the ECH group (received operation for focal cerebral ischemia and ECH 50 mg/kg per day), with 6 rats in each group. The infarct volume and spatial learning were evaluated by triphenyl tetrazolium chloride staining and Morris water maze. The expression of α7nAChR in the hippocampus was detected by immunohistochemistry. The contents of acetylcholine (ACh), malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), activities of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), and catalase (CAT) were evaluated by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The neural apoptosis and autophagy were determined by TUNEL staining and LC3 staining, respectively. Results: ECH significantly lessened the brain infarct volume and ameliorated neurological deficit in infarct volume and water content (both P<0.01). Compared with MCAO rats, administration of ECH revealed shorter escape latency and long retention time at 7, 14 and 28 days (all P<0.01), increased the α7nAChR protein expression, ACh content, and ChAT activity, and decreased AChE activity in MCAO rats (all P<0.01). ECH significantly decreased MDA content and increased the GSH content, SOD, and CAT activities compared with MCAO rats (all P<0.05). ECH suppressed neuronal apoptosis by reducing TUNEL-positive cells and also enhanced autophagy in MCAO rats (all P<0.01). Empathy is the ability to generate emotional responses (i.e., cognitive empathy) and to make cognitive inferences (i.e., affective empathy) to other people's emotions. Empirical evidence suggests that patients with bipolar disorder (BD) exhibit impairment in cognitive empathy, but findings on affective empathy are inconsistent. Few studies have examined the neural mechanisms of cognitive and affective empathy in patients with BD. In this study, we examined the empathy-related resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) in BD patients. Thirty-seven patients with BD and 42 healthy controls completed the self-report Questionnaires of Cognitive and Affective Empathy (QCAE), the Yoni behavioural task, and resting-sate fMRI brain scans. Group comparison of empathic ability was conducted. The interactions between group and empathic ability on seed-based whole brain rsFC were examined. BD patients scored lower on the Online Simulation subscale of the QCAE and showed positive correlations between cognitive empathy and the rsFC of the dorsal Medial Prefrontal Cortex (dmPFC) with the lingual gyrus. The correlations between cognitive empathy and the rsFC of the temporal–parietal junction (TPJ) with the fusiform gyrus, the cerebellum and the parahippocampus were weaker in BD patients than that in healthy controls. The spontaneous closure rate of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is high, and the necessity of early intervention is debated. Quantitative echocardiographic assessment of the intima in PDA has not been reported. This study evaluated intimal thickness growth in neonatal cases of PDA via echocardiography and investigated its correlation with clinical factors. Seventy-three neonates were enrolled, and echocardiography was performed three times: within 24 h post-birth (first echo), 48 h after the first echo (second echo), and before discharge (third echo). According to PDA outcome, the neonates were divided into the PDA-open group (n = 18 cases), PDA-closure at second echo group (n = 32 cases), and non-PDA at first echo group (n = 23 cases). We measured the intimal thickness (IT1 and IT2 at first and second echo, respectively), lumen diameter of ductus arteriosus (D1 and D2 at first and second echo, respectively), IT1/D1 ratio, and intimal thickness growth rate (V). Correlations between echocardiographic indicators, perinatal factors, and clinical treatment were analyzed. On first echo, the PDA-open group showed a significantly lower IT1/D1 than the combined PDA-closure group (P < 0.05). On second echo, the PDA-open group showed a significantly lower IT2 and V than the PDA-closure group as well as a significantly higher D2 (P < 0.05). Smaller gestational age correlated with a larger D2 but smaller IT2 and V (P < 0.05) and a higher level of respiratory support within 72 h post-birth correlated with a larger D2 and smaller IT 2 (P < 0.05). Increasing oxygen demand within 72 h of birth correlated with a larger D1 and D2 (P < 0.05). Echocardiographic assessment of intimal thickness growth in PDA may provide an approach for predicting spontaneous PDA closure, thereby guiding decision-making regarding early intervention. Objective: To conduct multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-derived radiomics based on multi-scale tumor region for predicting disease-free survival (DFS) in early-stage squamous cervical cancer (ESSCC). Methods: A total of 191 ESSCC patients (training cohort, n = 135; validation cohort, n = 56) from March 2016 to September 2019 were retrospectively recruited. Radiomics features were derived from the T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging (CET1WI), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) map for each patient. DFS-related radiomics features were selected in 3 target tumor volumes (VOIentire, VOI+5 mm, and VOI−5 mm) to build 3 rad-scores using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression analysis. Logistic regression was applied to build combined model incorporating rad-scores with clinical risk factors and compared with clinical model alone. Kaplan–Meier analysis was used to further validate prognostic value of selected clinical and radiomics characteristics. Results: Three radiomics scores all showed favorable performances in DFS prediction. Rad-score (VOI+5 mm) performed best with a C-index of 0.750 in the training set and 0.839 in the validation set. Combined model was constructed by incorporating age categorized by 55, Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (Figo) stage, and lymphovascular space invasion with rad-score (VOI+5 mm). Combined model performed better than clinical model in DFS prediction in both the training set (C-index 0.815 vs 0.709; p = 0.024) and the validation set (C-index 0.866 vs 0.719; p = 0.001). Conclusion: Multiparametric MRI-derived radiomics based on multi-scale tumor region can aid in the prediction of DFS for ESSCC patients, thereby facilitating clinical decision-making. Objectives: This study aimed to detect the expression of progranulin (PGRN) and elucidate associations with clinical features in dermatomyositis (DM) patients with anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 (anti-MDA5) antibody. Methods: We enrolled 40 DM patients with anti-MDA5 antibody, 20 patients with antisynthetase syndrome (ASS; disease control), and 20 healthy individuals (healthy control, HC). The clinical features of patients with anti-MDA5 antibody and anti-histidyl-tRNA antibody were collected. The level of PGRN in the serum was tested by ELISA. Results: The PGRN levels in DM patients with anti-MDA5 antibody (166.74 ± 97.95 ng/ml) were significantly higher than those in patients with ASS (82.66 ± 40.50 ng/ml; p < 0.001) and in HC (42.34 ± 18.69 ng/ml; p < 0.001). Patients with rapid progressive interstitial lung disease (RP-ILD) in DM with anti-MDA5 antibody (213.57 ± 114.05 ng/ml) had higher levels of PGRN than those without RP-ILD (135.51 ± 72.41 ng/ml; p = 0.012). ROC analysis showed an AUC value at 0.715 (95% CI, 0.541–0.888) for diagnosis of RP-ILD in DM patients with anti-MDA5 antibody. The expression of PGRN was positively correlated with the levels of ALT, AST, CK, LDH and ferritin (all p < 0.05). Conclusions: Our results indicated PGRN had great potential as a valuable serum marker of RP-ILD in DM with anti-MDA5 antibody. Pumped storage is an important green, low-carbon, and clean flexible regulating power source in the power system, which can provide regulation services for the power system, promote the construction of a new type of power system, and facilitate the green transformation of energy. To improve the efficiency and stability of the centrifugal pump turbine under multiple operating conditions, a surrogate model combining radial basis functions with a high-dimensional model is used for performance optimization. Taking the active guide vane of the centrifugal pump turbine as the research object, the airfoil profile is parameterized, and the surrogate model's independent variables and training range are determined. Combining programming and numerical simulation software, an efficiency prediction model for the centrifugal pump and water turbine based on guide vane airfoil control variables is constructed. The particle swarm algorithm is used to globally optimize the constructed model to obtain the optimal efficiency point and corresponding airfoil-related parameters. Finally, numerical simulation and experimental research methods are used to validate the predicted data. The results show that under the premise of ensuring grid performance and operational stability, the numerical simulation efficiency of the pump turbine under the optimization scheme is increased by 1.6 and 0.32%, respectively, compared to the numerical efficiency of the prototype guide vane. Although thoracoscopy has characteristics such as a small surgical incision and low stress response, post-surgical pain after a thoracoscopic operation is no less than that after a thoracotomy. Moreover, poor post-surgical pain management is likely to cause an increased incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) and chronic post-surgical pain. The serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) is a regional anesthesia method whereby local anesthetics (LAs) are injected into the serratus anterior space to block the lateral cutaneous branch of the intercostal nerve, long thoracic nerve, and dorsal thoracic nerve. The block range of the SAPB covers the incisions of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) and the site of the chest tube, which are often located in the antero-lateral chest wall. Therefore, the SAPB can achieve effective analgesia in VATS. For example, 0.125% to 0.25% levobupivacaine (20–25 ml) is widely used for thoracic surgery, which can achieve effective analgesia and avoid adverse reactions. Moreover, it has advantages compared with thoracic segmental epidural block (TEA) and thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB), such as simple operation, increased safety, fewer complications, and hemodynamic stability. In addition, adequate analgesia is helpful for pulmonary function recovery and reduces the incidence of PPCs. This article introduces the anatomical mechanism of the SAPB, diverse operation approaches, how to choose drugs and adjuvants, and the resulting impacted area range. It summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the SAPB compared with other analgesic methods and posits that the SAPB is beneficial to the recovery of postoperative lung function, which provides more options for postoperative analgesia after VATS. Three-dimensional (3D) ultra-tiny Fe2O3 nanoparticles/graphene hydrogels were prepared using a facile and efficient solvothermal reaction, by which the phase of iron oxide, particle size and the morphology of hydrogels can be precisely controlled by simply adjusting the solvothermal reaction time. Accordingly, the effect of the microstructures of hydrogels on electrochemical performance was systematically studied. It was found that Fe2O3/rGO-50 hydrogels (with a solvothermal reaction time of 50 min) possessed a desirable crystallinity, suitable particle size, decent porous structure, large specific surface area and high electrical conductivity, thus exhibiting a superior electrochemical performance as binder-free anode of supercapacitors: a large potential range of 1.15 V, an ultrahigh specific capacitance of 1090 F·g−1 at a current density of 2 A·g−1 and excellent rate capability (531 F·g−1 at 10 A·g−1). We investigated the effect of CYP2C19 polymorphisms on the clinical outcomes of clopidogrel therapy in patients after stenting procedure for cerebral artery stenosis in northeast China. 568 patients performed CYP2C19 genotype screening in the neurosurgery department of our hospital; 154 patients were finally recruited according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and followed-up for 6 months. Ischemic events including (1) transient ischemic attack (TIA); (2) stent thrombosis; (3) ischemic stroke; and (4) death were defined as primary clinical endpoints. The frequencies of CYP2C19*1, *2 and *3 alleles in 568 patients were 63.1%, 31.1% and 5.8%, respectively. 154 patients were classified into extensive (65 patients; 42.2%), intermediate (66 patients; 42.9%), and poor (23 patients; 14.9%) metabolizer groups. A χ2 test showed a significant difference in primary clinical endpoints at 6 months (P = 0.04), and a multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that the CYP2C19 loss-of-function (LOF) alleles associated with post-procedure prognosis. The Kaplan–Meier curve revealed that there was no significant difference in ischemic events between *2 and *3 alleles carriers. Our study verifies that CYP2C19 *2 and *3 have significant impact on the clinical outcomes of clopidogrel therapy in patients with stenting procedure for cerebral artery stenosis in China. To assess the value of parameters of myocardial work for dynamic monitoring of myocardial injury after neonatal asphyxia. Fifty-three neonates with asphyxia admitted within 24 h after delivery were divided into a mild asphyxia group (n = 40) and severe asphyxia group (n = 13). Echocardiography was performed within 24 h post-birth, within 72 h post-birth (48 h after first echo), and during recovery. The left ventricular ejection fraction on M-mode echocardiography and by Simpson’s biplane method (LVEF and Bi-EF, respectively), stroke volume (SV), cardiac output (CO), cardiac index (CI), global longitudinal strain (GLS), global work index (GWI), global constructive work (GCW), and other parameters were measured. Echocardiographic indicators were compared between groups and over time. GWI was significantly increased at 72 h in the mild asphyxia group (P < 0.05) but showed no significant change over time in the severe asphyxia group (P > 0.05). While GCW increased significantly over time in both groups (P < 0.05), it increased earlier in the mild asphyxia group. Time and grouping factors had independent effects on GWI and GCW (P > 0.05). The characteristics of differences in GWI and GCW between the two groups were different from those for LVEF, Bi-EF, SV, CO, CI, and GLS and their change characteristics with improvement from treatment. GWI and GCW changed significantly during recovery from neonatal asphyxia, and their change characteristics differed between mild and severe asphyxia cases. Myocardial work parameters can be used as valuable supplements to traditional indicators of left ventricular function to dynamically monitor the recovery from myocardial injury after neonatal asphyxia. Long non-coding RNAs are associated with the pathogenesis of cancers. Moreover, LINC00460 is involved in the development of multiple cancers. However, the function of LINC00460 in cervical cancer (CC) remains inconclusive. Herein, CC tissues and tumor-adjacent tissues were collected from patients. The effect of LINC00460 silencing in cell proliferation and apoptosis in CC was explored in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, the interaction between LINC00460 and miR-503-5p was analyzed using dual luciferase reporter assay. The expression of genes and proteins was assayed using quantitative real-time PCR, western blotting and immunohistochemistry, cell viability using MTT assay, cell cycle distribution using flow cytometry, cell apoptosis using Annexin V staining, Hoechst staining and TUNEL assay. LINC00460 levels in CC tissues were higher than tumor-adjacent tissues. LINC00460 silencing suppressed proliferation and promoted apoptosis of CC cells as evidenced by decreased cell viability, inhibited proliferation-related protein and cell cycle protein expressions and G1/S transition, increased apoptotic cells and Hoechst-positive cells, and enhanced apoptosis-related protein expressions. LINC00460 could bind to miR-503-5p and LINC00460 silencing enhanced miR-503-5p expression and inhibited its target gene expressions in CC cells. MiR-503-5p inhibition reversed LINC00460 silencing-caused inhibition of cell proliferation and miR-503-5p target gene expressions, and promotion of cell apoptosis. LINC00460 silencing also attenuated tumor growth, promoted miR-503-5p levels and cell apoptosis, and inhibited cell proliferation and miR-503-5p target gene expressions in tumor tissues. To evaluate the efficacy and economics of different proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) combined with bismuth quadruple regimens for Helicobacter pylori (Hp) eradication, a retrospective analysis method was used to collect Hp-positive patients who were treated with a bismuth-containing quadruple regimen (PPIs + amoxicillin + furazolidone + colloid pectin bismuth) from the outpatient department of gastroenterology in our hospital from January to June 2017. A total of 1410 patients were included in the study and divided into four groups according to different PPIs: group A (pantoprazole sodium enteric-coated capsules, 352 cases), group B (esomeprazole magnesium enteric-coated tablets, 462 cases), group C (pantoprazole sodium enteric-coated tablets, 392 cases) and group D (rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated tablets, 204 cases). The eradication rate of Hp and cost-saving in each group were then compared. There were no significant differences of gender (P = 0.526) and age (P = 0.366) between each Hp treatment regimen. The eradication rates of groups A, B, C and D were 91.48%, 89.83%, 86.73% and 90.69%, respectively. No statistical differences of Hp eradication rates were observed between each group yet (P > 0.05). However, the cost of group A was the lowest. In the present study, the Hp eradication rates between different PPIs regimens were similar in treating Hp infection. Nevertheless, the point in favor of pantoprazole capsules is the slightly higher Hp eradication rate and lower drug cost than other PPIs, which provides a significant evidence for the clinical medication decision in treating Hp infection. Ovarian cancer has the highest mortality in gynecologic malignancies. LncRNA BLACAT1 serves crucial functions in various cancers, but its role in ovarian cancer has not been investigated. In this article, our team explored the role and the potential regulatory mechanism of BLACAT1 in ovarian cancer. Quantitative RT-PCR showed that BLACAT1 was aberrantly up-regulated in ovarian cancer tissues compared with normal tissues. In vitro, BLACAT1 knockdown induced cell cycle arrest and inhibited the proliferation, migration and invasion of ovarian cancer cells using flow cytometry, MTT and EdU assays, wound healing assay and transwell assay, respectively. Luciferase assay verified the binding relationship between microRNA-519d-3p and lncRNA BLACAT1, and BLACAT1 negatively regulated the expression of miR-519d-3p. We also found that miR-519d-3p overexpression could inhibit ovarian cancer cells proliferation, migration and invasion. Further, Western blot demonstrated that the expression of RPS15A and nuclear β-catenin expression was markedly reduced by BLACAT1 knockdown, and cytoplasmic β-catenin level was not obviously affected. In vivo, BLACAT1 knockdown inhibited the tumor growth, and immunohistochemistry showed that ki67 expression was decreased by BLACAT1 suppression. Inhibition of BLACAT1 was sufficient to down-regulate the expression of RPS15A and nuclear β-catenin but did not cause an obvious change in cytoplasmic β-catenin expression. The possibility of designing a compact source of soft X-ray radiation without the accompanying generation of fast electrons is under study. The source is formed by the interaction of high-contrast femtosecond laser pulses of relativistic intensity with supersonic argon gas jets. The plasmonic of BC3 nanostructure was investigated employing time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). What is striking is that BC3 nanostructure possesses preferable absorbance in the visible region. By changing the size of the nanostructure, the resonance peak position of the absorption spectrum can be effectively regulated. Moreover, when excitation direction along the armchair-edge direction, the absorption spectra are clearly stronger in the low-energy zone respect to the impulse excitation polarizes in the zigzag-edge direction. In addition, with the change of layer spacing and number of layers, the resonance frequency and resonance absorption peak intensity of plasmonic can be effectively controlled. The facile fabrication of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs)-doping molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) nanocomposite-based binary green porogen system, room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), and deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was developed for drug delivery system. With fenbufen (FB) as template molecule, 4-vinylpyridine (4-VP) was used as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linking monomer, and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazoliumtetrafluoroborate and choline chloride/ethylene glycol as binary green solvent, in the presence of SWCNTs. The imprinting effect of the SWCNT–MIP composites was optimized by regulation of the amount of SWCNTs, ratio of RTILs and DES, and the composition of DES. Blue shifts of UV bands strongly suggested that interaction between 4-VP and FB can be enhanced due to SWCNT doping in the process of self-assembly. The reinforced imprinted effect of CNT-doping MIP can provide superior controlled release characteristics. Compared with the control MIP prepared without SWCNTs, the imprinting factor of the SWCNT–MIP composites exhibited a twofold increase. In the analysis for the FB release kinetics from all samples, the SWCNT-reinforced MIP produced the lowest value of drug diffusivity. The relative bioavailability of the SWCNT–MIP composites (F %) displayed the highest value of 143.3% compared with the commercial FB tablet, whereas the control MIP and SWCNT–non-MIP composites was only 48.3% and 44.4%, respectively. Structural information pertaining to antigen-antibody interactions is fundamental in immunology, and benefits structure-based vaccine design. Modeling of antigen-antibody immune complexes from co-crystal structures or molecular docking simulations provides an extensive profile of the epitope at the interface; however, the key amino acids involved in the interaction must be further clarified, often through the use of experimental mutagenesis and subsequent binding assays. Here, we describe an in silico mutagenesis method to identify key sites at antigen-antibody interfaces, using significant increase in pH-dependency energy among saturated point mutations. Through a comprehensive analysis of the crystal structures of three antigen-antibody immune complexes, we show that a cutoff value of 1 kcal/mol of increased interaction energy provides good congruency with the experimental non-binding mutations conducted in vitro. This in silico mutagenesis strategy, in association with energy calculations, may provide an efficient tool for antibody-antigen interface analyses, epitope optimization, and/or conformation prediction in structure-based vaccine design. The optical response of a new graphene-like material Si2BN’s nanostructures and some kinds of hybrid structures formed by Si2BN and metal nanoparticles was studied by using time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). We found that the periodic structures of Si2BN have wider absorption ranges than graphene. When the impulse excitation polarizes in different directions (armchair-edge direction and zigzag-edge direction), the absorption spectra of Si2BN nanostructures would be different (optical anisotropy). And in the hybrid structures, the increase of metal nanoparticles’ number brings the absorption intensity strengthening and red shift, which means a stronger ability of localized surface plasmon tuning. Also, the different metal nanoparticles were used to form the hybrid structures; they show an obviously different property as well. In addition, in the kinds of situations mentioned above, the plasmons were produced in visible region. Transition from pluripotency to differentiation is a pivotal yet poorly understood developmental step. Here, we show that the tumour suppressor RASSF1A is a key player driving the early specification of cell fate. RASSF1A acts as a natural barrier to stem cell self-renewal and iPS cell generation, by switching YAP from an integral component in the β-catenin-TCF pluripotency network to a key factor that promotes differentiation. We demonstrate that epigenetic regulation of the Rassf1A promoter maintains stemness by allowing a quaternary association of YAP–TEAD and β-catenin–TCF3 complexes on the Oct4 distal enhancer. However, during differentiation, promoter demethylation allows GATA1-mediated RASSF1A expression which prevents YAP from contributing to the TEAD/β-catenin–TCF3 complex. Simultaneously, we find that RASSF1A promotes a YAP–p73 transcriptional programme that enables differentiation. Together, our findings demonstrate that RASSF1A mediates transcription factor selection of YAP in stem cells, thereby acting as a functional “switch” between pluripotency and initiation of differentiation. Enantiopure vicinal amino alcohols and derivatives are essential structural motifs in natural products and pharmaceutically active molecules, and serve as main chiral sources in asymmetric synthesis. Currently known asymmetric catalytic protocols for this class of compounds are still rare and often suffer from limited scope of substrates, relatively low regio- or stereoselectivities, thus prompting the development of more effective methodologies. Herein we report a dual catalytic strategy for the convergent enantioselective synthesis of vicinal amino alcohols. The method features a radical-type Zimmerman–Traxler transition state formed from a rare earth metal with a nitrone and an aromatic ketyl radical in the presence of chiral N,N′-dioxide ligands. In addition to high level of enantio- and diastereoselectivities, our synthetic protocol affords advantages of simple operation, mild conditions, high-yielding, and a broad scope of substrates. Gold-catalyzed intermolecular alkyne oxidation by an N–O bond oxidant has proven to be a powerful method in organic synthesis during the past decade, because this approach would enable readily available alkynes as precursors in generating α-oxo gold carbenes. Among those, gold-catalyzed oxidative cyclization of dialkynes has received particular attention as this chemistry offers great potential to build structurally complex cyclic molecules. However, these alkyne oxidations have been mostly limited to noble metal catalysts, and, to our knowledge, non-noble metal-catalyzed reactions such as diyne oxidations have not been reported. Herein, we disclose a copper-catalyzed oxidative diyne cyclization, allowing the facile synthesis of a wide range of valuable pyrrolo[3,4-c]quinolin-1-ones. Interestingly, by employing the same starting materials, the gold-catalyzed cascade cyclization leads to the divergent formation of synthetically useful pyrrolo[2,3-b]indoles. Nitromethane (NM, CHNO) is a widely studied energetic material, and its decomposition mechanism attracts great interest. In this work, bimolecular reactions between NO and nine intermediates generated during the decomposition of NM were investigated by computational chemistry methods. The aim of this study is to study the clinical, laboratory, imaging pathology, and prognosis features of IgG4-related spinal pachymeningitis. We worked with a 55-year-old man suffering from IgG4-related spinal pachymeningitis who had the most widespread lesion in his dura mater. We also review previous related studies and discuss the clinical characteristics of this rare disease. In total, eight IgG4-related spinal pachymeningitis patients have been reported in the literature since 2009. They were mostly male patients, 51.7 ± 11.9 years old on average. Cervical and thoracic vertebrae were the most common sites for lesions. The most prominent symptom was varying numbness and weakness of the limbs and/or body associated with spinal cord compression. There was one patient (1/5) with elevated serum IgG4 levels and three patients (3/3) with increased cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) IgG4 index. Positive histopathologic findings are the strongest basis for a diagnosis. All the patients with IgG4-related spinal pachymeningitis responded well to glucocorticoid therapy. IgG4-related spinal pachymeningitis is an orphan disease that mainly occurs in cervical and thoracic vertebrae. Older males are the most susceptible group. Serum IgG4 levels were consistently normal in these cases, so analysis of CSF for IgG4 production (IgG4 index) could become a useful tool. The optical response of phosphorene nanostructures was studied using time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). Compared with the absorption spectrum of graphene, that of the phosphorene nanostructure exhibits high absorbance in the ultraviolet region, which indicates a high light absorptivity. In a low-energy resonance zone, a spectral band extends to the entire near-infrared regions. When the impulse excitation polarizes in the armchair-edge direction, the low-energy plasmon in a few-layer phosphorene nanostructure shows an apparent long-range charge-transfer excitation but is significantly less pronounced along the zigzag-edge direction. The edge configuration significantly affects the absorption spectrum of monolayer phosphorene nanostructures. The armchair-edge and the zigzag-edge serve different functions in the absorption spectrum. Moreover, the absorption spectrum of the few-layer phosphorene nanostructure changes with the number of layers when the impulse excitation polarizes in the armchair-edge direction. In this paper, we designed a new type of 3D graphene bubble structure for hydrogen storage in theory. The graphene-based structures are constructed with different sizes of semi-ellipsoidal graphene bubbles. The hydrogen storage efficiency of the graphene bubble structures at ambient conditions ( P = 1.0 bar and T = 300 K) is calculated using molecular dynamic (MD) simulations. The effects of number of graphene layers and density and size of bubbles are systematically investigated in the isothermal-isobaric (NPT) ensemble. The MD results reveal that at ambient conditions, the bubble models can achieve the highest volumetric hydrogen storage efficiency of ~45 kg/m and gravimetric hydrogen storage efficiency of ~3.75 wt%. The plasmon characteristics of two graphene nanostructures are studied using time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). The absorption spectrum has two main bands, which result from π and σ + π plasmon resonances. At low energies, the Fourier transform of the induced charge density maps exhibits anomalous behavior, with a π phase change in the charge density maps in the plane of the graphene and those in the plane 0.3 Å from the graphene. The charge density fluctuations close to the plane of the graphene are much smaller than those above and beneath the graphene plane. However, this phenomenon disappears at higher energies. By analyzing the electronic properties, we may conclude that the restoring force for the plasmon in the plane of the graphene does not result from fixed positive ions, but rather the Coulomb interactions with the plasmonic oscillations away from the plane of the graphene, which extend in the surface-normal direction. The collective oscillation in the graphene plane results in a forced vibration. Accordingly, the low-energy plasmon in the graphene can be split into two components: a normal component, which corresponds to direct feedback of the external perturbation, and a secondary component, which corresponds to feedback of the Coulombic interaction with the normal component. To report clinical outcomes of kidney transplantation from pediatric brain and cardiac death donors (DBCD) in a single Chinese center and to investigate its feasibility to expand organ donor pool. 18 recipients, transplanted between August 2011 and October 2013 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, receive a single graft from DBCD donors age ranged from 1.5 to 13 years old. Renal function expressed as serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen as well as eGFR values at 1, 2 weeks as well as 1-, 3-, 6-, and 12-months post-transplantation was evaluated. Graft size was also monitored at the same time by ultrasonography. In addition, delayed graft function, acute rejection, surgical complication as well as patient and graft survival were also assessed. The primary causes of DBCD donors included six cases of severe brain trauma and three cases of cerebral hemorrhage. The mean age of DBCD donors was (7.2 ± 3.4) years (range 1.5-13). The mean weight of DBCD donors was (29.8 ± 15.3) kilogram (range 13-67). The mean height of DBCD donors was (118.3 ± 27.8) centimeter (range 70-173). ECMO was applied to DBCD donors to avoid warm ischemia time and the applicating time was (79.8 ± 44.5) (range 32-180) minutes.There were seven males and 11 females recipients. Among which, 16 recipients were pediatrics and two recipients were adults. The mean age of the recipients was (14.6 ± 9.7) years (range 4-47). The mean weight of recipients was (31.9 ± 12.4) kilogram (range 11-54). The mean height of recipients was (138.0 ± 23.7) centimeter (range 84-172). Renal function recovered to normal within the first-week post-operation except one recipient which occurred acute rejection. Two cases of renal artery stenosis were found 2-week and 3-month post-transplantation, respectively. They subsequently underwent ballon angioplasty and followed up for 8 and 12 months, respectively, and no recurrence was found. One recipient developed ureteral leak. Five weeks later, the ureter leak healed after adequate drainage and prolongation of indwelling catheter. Graft size significantly and continuously increased during the first year, especially in the first 3-month post-transplantation. All the 18 recipients are alive at the last follow-up. Among which, 16 recipients are followed up for 12 months and 1-year recipient/graft survival rate is 100 %. The use of single kidney graft from pediatric DBCD could yield good short-term results. To investigate the dynamics of social networks and the formation and evolution of online communities in response to extreme events, we collected three datasets from Twitter shortly before and after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. We find that while almost all users increased their online activity after the earthquake, Japanese speakers, who are assumed to be more directly affected by the event, expanded the network of people they interact with to a much higher degree than English speakers or the global average. By investigating the evolution of communities, we find that the behavior of joining or quitting a community is far from random: users tend to stay in their current status and are less likely to join new communities from solitary or shift to other communities from their current community. While non-Japanese speakers did not change their conversation topics significantly after the earthquake, nearly all Japanese users changed their conversations to earthquake-related content. This study builds a systematic framework for investigating human behaviors under extreme events with online social network data and our findings on the dynamics of networks and communities may provide useful insight for understanding how patterns of social interaction are influenced by extreme events. The highest qubit Ardehali inequality violation with 203 standard deviations is first experimentally demonstrated using the hyper-entangled four-photon-eight-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state. Moreover, we experimentally investigate the robustness of the Ardehali inequality for the four-, six-, and eight-qubit GHZ states in a rotary noisy environment systematically. Our results first validate the Ardehali' theoretical statement of relation between violation of Ardehali inequality and particle number, and proved that Ardehali inequality is more robust against noise in larger number qubit GHZ states, and provided an experimental benchmark for us to estimate the safety of quantum channel in the noisy environment. The p53 tumour suppressor is activated in response to a wide variety of genotoxic stresses, frequently via post-translational modification. Using a knock in mouse model with a Ser312 to Ala mutation, we show here that phosphorylation of p53 on Ser312 helps to prevent tumour induction by the alkylating agent MNU, which predominantly caused T cell lymphomas. This is consistent with our previous observation that p53312A/A mice are more susceptible to X-ray induced tumourigenesis. Phosphorylation on Ser312 aids p53's interaction with E2F1, and enhances p53-mediated apoptosis. Loss of E2F1 alone does not affect tumour susceptibility to MNU, but its absence partially rescues tumour formation in p53312A/A mice, thus reflecting the oncogenic properties of E2F1. In this study we analyze the travel patterns of 500,000 individuals in Cote d'Ivoire using mobile phone call data records. By measuring the uncertainties of movements using entropy, considering both the frequencies and temporal correlations of individual trajectories, we find that the theoretical maximum predictability is as high as 88%. To verify whether such a theoretical limit can be approached, we implement a series of Markov chain (MC) based models to predict the actual locations visited by each user. Results show that MC models can produce a prediction accuracy of 87% for stationary trajectories and 95% for non-stationary trajectories. A multiscale theoretical investigation has been performed to study the hydrogen and acetylene storage in Ca- and Mg-doped COFs (COF-105 and COF-108). The first-principles calculations show that the Ca and Mg can be immobilized at the COFs surfaces, and the doped Ca and Mg cations can adsorb five H molecules and three CH molecules with ideal binding energies. The Grand Canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations were carried out to obtain the hydrogen and acetylene uptakes of Ca- and Mg-doped COFs at room temperature in the different pressure ranges. Our results demonstrate that, at T = 298 K and p = 100 bar, the total gravimetric uptakes of H in Ca-doped COF-105 and COF-108 reach 6.78 and 6.54 wt%, respectively, and a higher uptakes of 7.14 and 7.27 wt% have been reached for Mg-doped COF-105 and COF-108, respectively. At T = 298 K and p = 1 bar, the acetylene uptakes of Ca-doped COF-105, Ca-doped COF-108, Mg-doped COF-105, and Mg-doped COF-108 are 406.42, 366.24, 308.07, and 319.88 cm/g (corresponding to the excess uptakes of 358.37, 316.38, 236.7109, and 245.42 cm/g), respectively. The Ca-doped COF-105 displays a highest acetylene storage capacity among all materials reported. The Ca- and Mg-doped COFs can be very practical hydrogen or acetylene storage medium in the future. Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC), the first rate-limiting enzyme of polyamine biosynthesis, was found to be associated with cell growth, proliferation and transformation. ODC gene expression in gastric cancer was increased and its level was positively correlated with the degree of malignity of gastric mucosa and development of gastric lesions. In order to evaluate the therapeutic effects of antisense RNA of ODC on gastric cancer, an antisense RNA of ODC expressing plasmid pcDNA-ODCr which delivered a 120 bp fragment complementary to the initiation codon of ODC gene was constructed and transfected to gastric cancer cells SGC7901 and MGC803. Expression of ODC in gastric cancer cells was determined by western blot. Cell proliferation was assessed by MTS assay. Cell cycle was analyzed by flow cytometry and Matrigel assay was performed to assess the ability of gastric cancer cell invasiveness. The results showed that the ODC gene expression in gastric cancer cells transfected with the pcDNA-ODCr was downregulated efficiently. Tumor cell proliferation was suppressed significantly, and cell cycle was arrested at G1 phase. Gastric cancer cells had reduced invasiveness after gene transfer. Our study suggested that antisense RNA of ODC expressing plasmid pcDNA-ODCr had antitumor activity by inhibiting the expression of ODC, and downregulation of ODC expression using a gene therapy approach might be a novel therapeutic strategy for gastric cancer. In this article, density functional theory has been utilized to study on the correlation between impact sensitivities h and the bond dissociation energies (BDEs) of nine triazole energetic explosives. By employing B3LYP and B3P86 method with the 6-311G** basis set, all the molecules have been fully optimized. The BDEs for removal of the NO group in these compounds have also been calculated at the same level. Computed results show that BDEs calculated by B3LYP method are all less than those by B3P86 method. The relationship between the impact sensitivities and the weakest C-NO bond dissociation energy (BDE) values have been investigated. Sex allocation theory predicts that female birds with high-quality mates will benefit from producing more sons, since sons will inherit their father's superior traits and enjoy a great reproductive success, whereas females with low-quality mates will benefit from producing more daughters, since the variance in reproductive success among daughters is typically lower. The male attractiveness hypothesis may apply to extra-pair paternity (EPP) because socially monogamous females routinely mate with higher quality males outside the pair bond. We test these predictions using the Tibetan ground tit ( Pseudopodoces humilis), a sexually monomorphic, socially monogamous, facultatively cooperative breeder. There was greater variation in actual reproductive success among males than females due to EPP. An excess of sons was detected for bi-parental (i.e., non-cooperative) broods wherein EPP was mainly sired by bi-parental males. The pattern was attributed to male-biased sex ratios produced for both EPP and within-pair offspring within the same broods. The reason for the latter case might be a random allocation of more offspring to sons by the potentially EPP-exposed females that have an inability to control fertilization by specific males. In cooperative broods where EPP mostly resulted from within-group helpers of presumed low-quality, as indicated by their failure in acquiring a social mate, there was a non-significant tendency for EPP offspring to be daughters and for within-pair offspring in the same broods to be unbiased. These results support the EPP-related male attractiveness hypothesis especially in terms of the overproduction of sons. The anti-proliferative, cytotoxic and apoptogenic activities of delisheng, a Chinese medicinal compound, has been investigated. In this study, the hepatocarcinoma cell line (HepG2) and the liver cell line (L-02) were exposed to delisheng (6.25, 50 and 100 μl/ml). Delisheng suppressed the proliferation and viability of normal liver L-02 cells slightly, but strongly inhibited the proliferation and viability of hepatocarcinoma HepG2 cells. The flow cytometric analysis of HepG2 cells demonstrated that delisheng primarily arrested the HepG2 cells at the G1 phase of the cell cycle. Annexin V-FITC/PI staining corroborates the apoptogenic nature of delisheng on HepG2 cells. The anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effect of delisheng in HepG2 cells was associated with changes in the Bcl-2/Bax ratio and the induction of caspase-mediated apoptosis. Upregulation of DR5 expression was observed in HepG2 cells after treatment with delisheng. The findings from the present study suggest that delisheng has selective cytotoxic activities against HepG2 cells.
