Research shows that there is a significant resources waste in construction, and accordingly lagging in productivity behind the productivity of the global economy and industry in particular. There is also a small number of papers and studies on this waste. On the other hand, a higher productivity level requires small waste of material, energy and other inputs. Therefore, construction companies are deciding to introduce lean as one of the leading methods of waste reduction. This paper deals with the introduction of lean in construction companies in BiH, currently at very low level. Bearing in mind that most construction companies in BiH are small, it concludes that introducing lean and thus reducing the resources waste and increasing productivity and competitiveness requires more information and particularly skills improvements. This paper is a continuation of papers published 10 years ago, which covered the tests results obtained during the period from 1997 to 2013. The paper presents the test results obtained during the period from 2013 to 2023. Based on scientific methodology, the use of relevant literature as well as laboratory test methods, the authors analyze and evaluate the obtained results of testing natural stone as a basic raw material for the production of dimension stone (DS) and crushed stone aggregate (CSA). Test results are based on applicable test methods. The paper presents natural stone deposits for the production of DS and CSA, as well as the results of testing their physical and mechanical properties as the basic evaluation criteria. This paper presents the freshwater limestones, from tenelija and (Mostar) miljevina, which are intercalated in the Mukoša deposit near Mostar, and their "stone cousins," Posušje miljevina and Tomislavgrad muljika. In the process of diagenesis they acquired a specific orientation and structure (especially tenelija), which gave them specific physical properties (small bulk density, high porosity and permeability), which "classic" limestones used in construction do not have, and which were decisive for the choice of this stone for construction of the Old Bridge and other buildings in the wider area of Mostar and in the area of Posušje municipality, but also in other karst poljes of Herzegovina and southwestern Bosnia, in parts of Central Bosnia, and Miljevina near Foča. The second part of the paper presents the so-called built-in (internal) factors that the builders try to avoid in order for freshwater limestones that are built into numerous stone buildings and/or monuments to avoid complex processes of stone changes, or weathering (decay) of stone due to its interaction with various environmental conditions (external factors). It covers the problems and significance of the choice of stone, the method and (often too small) depth of its extraction from the deposit for the construction of significant buildings, insufficiently long aging (storage) after extraction, incorrect installation (stacking) of the stone in relation to its position in the deposit, as well as various errors in stone processing and execution, along with inadequate maintenance. The paper aims to determine the organizational structure and organizational culture of a successful construction company from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Additionally, the paper provides an insight into their interdependence and impact on the overall business operations of the company. The questionnaire examined the main dimensions of organizational structure: formalization, centralization, standardization and specialization. Cameron and Quinn’s Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument was used to examine the organizational culture at the company, while the analysis of the company’s business efficiency was informed by Kaplan and Norton’s Key Performance Indicators: financial, internal business processes, customer, and learning and growth perspectives. After the reliability of the measuring scales used were confirmed by calculating the Cronbach alpha coefficient, the Relative Importance Index determined which dimensions of the organizational structure and culture, and which efficiency indicators have the greatest influence on the design of the company's business system. According to the subjective opinion of the employees who participated in this research, the company can be characterized as hierarchical, highly formalized and structured, and customer-oriented. In the territory of Herzegovina there is a large number of masonry buildings, the age of which exceeds 50 years. These are mostly smaller buildings, with one to two floors, while the load-bearing walls are mainly made of cut stone in lime mortar. Larger buildings with load-bearing walls made of bricks and concrete blocks in cement-lime mortar appeared a little later. The floor structures mainly consist of timber oak beams, supported by loadbearing walls, with boarding on the upper side and plaster, on reed netting, on the lower side. Such structures are exceptionally sensitive to seismic action, and almost certainly could not withstand the design seismic load without significant damage and collapse. A nonlinear static analysis of the structure of one such building was performed in this paper. A check of the existing condition was performed in the first analysis, and a check of the partially strengthened structure in the second. It is evident from the analysis that such strengthening significantly improves the bearing capacity, while the increase in deformability (ductility) is significantly smaller due to the very high stiffness of such structures. In the first part of this paper the occurrence of dolomite in B&H karst, as well as active and potential dolomite deposits for dimension stone with different trade names ("Rujan", "San", "Gradac") are presented, with the available results of their testing. The final section of the paper gives a brief historical overview of the applications of dolomite as dimension stone in Herzegovina, which is attested by many tombstones, but also some religious and residential buildings. However, with its beauty of textures and colors and quality in workmanship, in the last several decades it has been widely used in the interior and exterior cladding of numerous buildings in Herzegovina, as well as in several regional architectural projects along the Adriatic coast, in the Republic of Croatia and Republic of Montenegro. The paper examines the causes of insufficient implementation of public-private partnership projects in the field of road infrastructure. The aim of this paper is to present the possibility of using the public-private partnership concession in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the construction of road infrastructure. The results of the research can be useful to public bodies in implementing the first phase of the life cycle of a public-private partnership project, i.e. in preparing the necessary study documentation, and then selecting potential public-private partnership projects in road infrastructure in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Developments in sensor technology called Synthetic Antenna Radar (SAR) and associated data processing software have helped satellite radar interferometry (InSAR), a method that uses multiple SAR images of the same area collected from satellites, to become a widely used method for estimating soil deformation as well as other geophysical processes, because it provides millimeter precision with great spatial coverage. The paper deals with 24 Sentinel-1A images for the area of western Herzegovina, taken during 2020, and determined the average speeds of vertical displacements using the SNAP program (Sentinel Application Platform). Vertical displacements of ± 10 millimeters were recorded, while the mean annual displacement velocities were 8 millimeters in the vertical direction, without taking into account the correction for the influence of horizontal displacements. The first results in the study area indicate a trend of ground movement, but due to several types of atmospheric corrections, geomorphological characteristics of the study area and lack of in-situ measurements for comparison, external evaluation of the reliability of deformations will have to be assessed in future studies. The globalization of geospatial data and geodetic reference frames is important for the overall development of both national and global economies. In accordance with the needs for defining a general geodetic reference frame, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution "Global Geodetic Reference Frame for Sustainable Development (GGRF)" in 2015. The European Union member states have addressed the issue by adopting joint directives, recommendations and other acts to adapt national laws. Bosnia and Herzegovina and its neighboring countries, non-EU member states, have enacted appropriate legislation and decisions to adapt to the globalization of spatial data and reference frames. Therefore, the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs (FGU) has undertaken certain activities in order to establish a new geodetic reference frame through changes in legislation, renewal and establishment of new reference systems and measurements. The paper will discuss the existing geodetic reference frame and the activities of the FGU on the introduction of new geodetic datums and map projections in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH). Many roundabout capacity models are present in the world and they are classified into three key groups: empirical models, theoretical models, and microscopic simulation models. In Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, there is no roundabout capacity model prescribed by a rulebook. Theoretical capacity models are derived from gap acceptance theory. Due to some deficiencies of gap acceptance theory, Brilon and Wu introduce a new concept for analyzing the capacity of unsignalized intersections, and thereby of roundabouts too, based on conflict theory and queuing theory. This paper analyzes three roundabout capacity models most commonly used in the world (HCM, Akcelik, Brilon-Wu), with different theoretical backgrounds, in order to compare them with directly measured capacity in the field in local conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and thus to see the differences in application results. This paper presents a hydraulic analysis of unsteady flow due to a possible dam break of the Tribistovo reservoir located in the Municipality of Posušje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Flood wave propagation is calculated and flood maps are derived for different dam break scenarios. The methodology adopted for the development of the flood wave propagation model is based on the use of available tools for collection, processing and graphical display of geospatial data and tools for hydrodynamic modeling of transient flow. The selected approach is conservative and results are, as a rule, the worst case scenarios. Flood areas are obtained on the basis of hydraulic calculations with the most unfavorable assumptions: maximum water level in the reservoir, maximum inflow in the reservoir (with the return period of T = 10 000 years), instantaneous/gradual and total dam break, all of which result in extreme flooding. Continuously raising awareness of the issue of climate change helps to better understand it, but there is very little or no implementation of activities to mitigate the effects in practice. Therefore, it is important to collect data, perform analyses and studies in order to improve the existing situation. The paper provides an overview of the current condition caused by climate change with a focus on water resources in Bosnia and Herzegovina, possible consequences in the future and measures recommended to be applied as a means to minimize the negative effects. The first part of the survey covers the history of the Austro-Hungarian "Air Base", "Aviation Park no. 4" and "Reserve Squadron 11", which were stationed in Mostar between 1913 and 1918. The airfield of Mostar-Rodoč, evaluated as early as in 1912, was one of the oldest in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The Imperial and Royal Army Air Service used it for basic pilot training in World War I. The second part is an expertise for the salvage, conservation and restoration of the four still existing Austro-Hungarian hangars at the former Mostar-Rodoč airfield in view of protection of historical monuments. Erected in 1917/18, these hangars are the oldest witnesses of aviation in Bosnia and Hercegovina. Because of their genuine and very efficient construction, they should be preserved as unique examples of technical and engineering architecture. One hangar of exactly the same type, restored in 2013 in Krakow, is now part of Poland's cultural heritage. Structural calculations have shown that these Austro-Hungarian hangars comply with modern EU building regulations. All used documents and plans from the Austrian State Archives/War Archives (ÖStA/KA) in Vienna are still unpublished. Corridor Vc enhances the connection of Bosnia and Herzegovina with neighboring countries and improves the potential for economic development. The Corridor Vc motorway in Bosnia and Herzegovina stretches from the northern border with the Republic of Croatia from Svilaj to Čapljina on the southern border with the Republic of Croatia, in Bijača. The Zenica tunnel is part of the Corridor Vc motorway in the municipality of Zenica and is currently the longest excavated tunnel with a total length of 3,330 meters. Excavation works were performed by a combination of blasting and machine excavation. The excavation of the tunnel was performed in sedimentary formations (flysch-like Upper Vranduk series 2 JK). Excavation of tunnels by blasting with adjusted drilling and blasting parameters in rock mass of poorer quality achieves better results in relation to machine excavation [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The legal status of mining resources, or mineral raw materials, method and conditions of the management of mineral raw materials, protection, mining works, occupational safety measures, suspension of works and permanent cessation of mining operations, technical documentation and design, mine surveying and mining plans, inspection supervision, protection and arrangement of space, penal provisions and other issues related to management of mineral resources are regulated by the Law on Mining (Official Gazette of the Federation of B&H No. 26/10). This law defines that mineral raw materials are non-renewable and renewable natural resources that are impossible to directly or indirectly economically exploit. Management of mineral raw materials includes all procedures and actions necessary for (optimum) exploitation and use of mineral raw materials. The right of exploitation of mineral resources is acquired based on the approval for exploitation and based on permits in accordance with the Law on Mining. Rules on the content and method of preparation of Mineral Resources Management Strategy (Official Gazette of the Federation of B&H No. 31/2012) were adopted on the basis of the Law on Mining. The process of formation of calcareous sinter is often related to karst areas, or areas covered by limestone and dolomite deposits. Such an area is the Dinaric Alps, which cover a large part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The widely known waterfalls and cascades on the Trebizat - Mlade River, formed by geological and tectonic processes, provided the precondition for formation of waterfalls. Waters are declared the public good in the Federation of BiH. As such, they are under protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of BiH, counties/cantons and local government units (towns/cities and municipalities). These are surface inland waters and groundwaters, which also include coastal sea waters and transitional waters. Drafting of the Water Management Strategy is planned by the Law on Waters of the Federation of BiH ("Official Gazette of FBiH", No. 70/06) and it is the basic long-term planning document for the water sector in the BiH Federation that defines water management policy. The content of the Water Management Strategy is also defined by the Law on Waters, with the following essential items: assessment of the situation in the field of water management, objectives and directions of water protection, protection from damaging effects of waters, priorities for achieving water management objectives, assessment of necessary funds for implementation of the program and deadlines for achieving water management objectives, necessary actions for achieving obligations from international agreements relating to water management. The future legal, institutional and economic framework of operation of the water management sector in the BiH Federation, as well as the framework of operation for use of waters, protection of waters and protection from damaging effects of waters are determined by defining the objectives and measures for achieving them. In accordance with the Law on Waters, the Water Management Strategy is part of the Environmental Protection Strategy. The methodology of preparation of the Water Management Strategy assumed that its goals and measures are compatible and in a harmonious relation with objectives of the Environmental Protection Strategy. Water supply operators in BiH operate at losses, due to the low prices set by the local authorities and high costs of water supply services incurred by operators. Losses of operators are uncommon even unusual for countries in transition, except for Albania. It means that water supply operators are not regulated properly. As such, they are not attractive to private sector participation. The BiH authorities should raise the issue of measuring the efficiency of water supply operators and appropriate regulation.
