The most likely scenario for civil engineering structures is that only some components or parts of a structure are complex, while the rest of the structure can be well physically modeled. In this case, utilizing powerful neural networks to model these complex components or parts only and embedding the neural network models into the structure might be a viable choice. However, few studies have considered the real‐time interaction between the neural network model and another model. In this paper, a new hybrid structural modeling strategy that incorporates the neural network model is proposed. Structures installed with energy dissipation devices (EDDs) are investigated, where continuous‐time state‐space neural network (CSNN) models are adopted to represent EDDs and to couple with the physical model of the structure excluding EDDs through the state‐space substructuring method. First, CSNN models with an identical model configuration are trained to represent different physical models of EDDs and fit the experimental results of a damper to evaluate the CSNN model at the model level. Then, to demonstrate the hybrid structural analysis method, the CSNN‐based structural models of the interfloor‐damped and base‐isolated structures are established for seismic analyses. It is observed that CSNN‐based models exhibit high prediction performance and are easy to implement. Exciton binding energy (Eb) is a key parameter to determine the mechanism and performance of organic optoelectronic devices. Small Eb benefits to reduce the interfacial energy offset and the energy loss of organic solar cells. However, quantum‐chemical calculations of the Eb in solid state with considering electronic polarization effects are extremely time‐consuming. Furthermore, current studies lack critical descriptors. Here, we use data‐driven machine learning (ML) to accelerate the computation and identify the key descriptors most relevant to the solid‐state Eb. The results verify two key descriptors associated with molecular and aggregation‐state properties for efficient prediction of the solid‐state Eb. Moreover, a very high accuracy is achieved by using the extreme gradient boosting algorithm, with the Pearson's correlation coefficient of 0.92. Finally, we use this ML model to predict the Eb of thin films, which is difficult to achieve using the current quantum‐chemical calculations due to the large structural disorder. Remarkably, the predicted thin‐film Eb values are fully consistent with the results of temperature‐dependent photoluminescence spectra. Therefore, our work provides an accurate and efficient approach to predict the solid‐state Eb and would be helpful to accelerate the exploitation of novel promising organic photovoltaic materials. This study aims to identify the primary issues leading to the pause in geothermal energy development at Aluto‐Langano and Tulu‐Moye sites, while also exploring opportunities in new drilling wells and assessing compliance with occupational safety, health and environmental standards. The geothermal energy development status was evaluated through focus group discussions, site visits and field data collection. The Tulu‐Moye Geothermal Operation (TMGO) project is underway to establish a power plant, with a phased development spanning 6 years targeting a total capacity of 150 MW, comprising 50 MW for Phase 1 and 100 MW for Phase 2, though with some constraints. The Aluto‐I Geothermal Pilot Plant marked the initial efforts to produce electricity from geothermal sources but faced shutdown due to declining thermal energy in some wells, turbine corrosion, pentane leakage, frequent in efficiency of fans and instability of foundations. Consequently, Phase 2 of the project aims to integrate with Phase 1 wells to mitigate potential thermal energy losses. Geothermal energy development demands substantial initial investment but entails minimal ongoing costs and workforce requirements. Its eco‐friendliness benefits communities, offering higher efficiency and lower maintenance compared to hydroelectricity. Leveraging Ethiopia's geothermal potential is crucial for electricity generation, mineral extraction, and water supply, with plans involving nationwide field expansion to enhance renewable energy capacity. Interface engineering has become the mainstream for improving the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Interfacial dipole (ID) molecules have emerged as a feasible and effective strategy to alleviate the charge carrier loss and energy loss in PSCs. Here, the three symmetrical donor–acceptor interfacial dipole molecules (named PzT, PzTE, and PzTN) are designed and synthesized with identical hole transport backbone and different anchoring groups. The ID molecule is introduced into the interface between the perovskite layer and the hole transport layer. The dipole moments of ID molecules regulate the surface work function and energy‐level alignment of perovskites, improve charge extraction, and reduce energy loss at the interface. Meanwhile, the anchoring groups of ID molecules coordinate with the defects on the surface of PVK and HTL, reduce interfacial trap state density and charge accumulation, and mitigate the carrier non‐radiative recombination losses. As a result, PzTN‐modified PSC achieved a champion power conversion efficiency of 25.34% with a photovoltage of 1.176 V and a fill factor (FF) of 83.27%, accompanied by almost undetectable hysteresis and excellent operating stability. Electron energy loss spectra collected from fresh and corroded silver nanoparticles are compared with those from a number of reference materials, focusing on the M4,5 edge. Chemical shifts and changes in the energy loss near edge structure (ELNES) are described and found to be sufficient to distinguish metallic silver from chemically oxidised silver. The measurements, in conjunction with electron energy loss spectrum imaging, are used to assess the mechanisms for atmospheric corrosion of silver nanoparticles. We unambiguously assign the corrosion product under atmospheric conditions to be silver sulphide, but show the reaction process to be distinctly inhomogeneous, producing a variety of types of corroded particles. LAY DESCRIPTION: >Here, we use analytical electron microscopy to track the corrosion of silver nanoparticles and present chemical maps of the corrosion products. We show clear spectroscopic differences between metallic and corroded silver using the M4,5 electron energy loss spectral feature, which is not commonly studied. Our study shows that corrosion is due to interactions with sulphur in the atmosphere; and the corrosion is not uniform, but appears to develop from specific points on the surface of the nanoparticles. Interface engineering has emerged as an effective strategy for optimizing the charge carrier dynamics in perovskite solar cells, and the design of modulators plays a crucial role in improving interface effects. Here, halogenated ethylamine hydrochloride (XEA), such as 2‐fluoroethylamine hydrochloride (FEA), 2‐chloroethylamine hydrochloride (CEA), or ethylamine hydrochloride (EA), is incorporated into the buried interface between perovskite layer (PVK) and SnO2 electron transport layer (ETL) to assist crystal growth, tune the energy level and passivate defects. Pre‐embedded XEA interacts with PbI2 to form a 2D mesophase. The mesophase assists the growth dynamics and orientation of the epitaxial perovskite, resulting in uniform perovskite films with larger grains and higher densification, effectively reducing the defects caused by excess PbI2 at the buried interface. NH3+ cation and X− anion ions on XEA fill and coordinate the vacancies, passivating the defects in SnO2 and perovskite. Meanwhile, the introduction of XEA adjusts the energy match between PVK/ETL, compensating the energy loss at the buried interface. Consequently, the FEA‐modified devices exhibited a power conversion efficiency of 24.7%, featuring an exceptionally high open‐circuit voltage of 1.19 V and remarkable stability. Perovskite La0.6Sr0.4Fe1−xCuxO3−δ (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2) polycrystalline samples have been synthesized in air and investigated by X‐Ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, magnetization, and mechanical spectroscopy. An antiferromagnetic transition is observed around 300 K, while no corresponding anomaly is observed in the mechanical spectrum, indicating the absence of conventional magnetoelastic coupling. For La0.6Sr0.4FeO3, an internal friction peak (P1) presents around 140 K and shifts to lower temperatures with increasing Cu‐doping content. Meanwhile, a magnetic anomaly is also observed around P1 peak temperature. As explained, the P1 peak is related to the freezing of the ferroelastic domain walls, and the mechanical energy dissipation is induced by the lagging variation of the octahedral tilting under the alternating stress. In this work, we present calculations of energy loss spectra corresponding to slow electrons (100 − 1000 eV) interacting with a graphene monolayer. We use a dielectric two‐dimensional model for the conductivity developed for more energetic electrons (>50 keV) and explore its applicability in the present range of energies. The studied configuration is comparable with energy loss spectroscopy experiments implemented in a scanning low‐energy electron microscope equipped with a time‐of‐flight device. We analyze both theoretical and experimental spectra in order to understand the structures observed in the latter and to elucidate the processes involved. The calculated spectra reproduce qualitatively the positions of the π$$ \pi $$ and π+σ$$ \pi +\sigma $$ plasmon peaks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To meet the needs for higher energy efficiency and a wide operating temperature range of electric vehicles, the low‐loss MnZn ferrites in a wide temperature range have been developed by optimizing the Fe content and the oxygen partial pressure (PO2) during the sintering process in this work. For the optimal sample, power loss at 300 kHz/100mT is 204 kW/m3 at 25°C and remains below 290 kW/m3 in the wide temperature range from ‐10 to 120°C. The loss separation method was employed to clarify the effects of the Fe content and PO2 on power loss. The equivalent circuit model has been employed to fit the complex impedance and it is found that the increase of PO2 enhances both the grain resistance Rg and the grain boundary resistance Rgb. The enhancement of Rgb is mainly responsible for the reduction of eddy current loss and consequently power loss. Dielectric permittivity is as large as about 15000 in this series of samples due to the electric polarization at the rich grain boundaries. Suction cups are commonly used to attach biologging tags to cetaceans, and interact mechanically with compliant integument, an organ primarily composed of skin and blubber. However, the impact of compliance on suction cup performance is difficult to predict because knowledge about in vivo integument mechanics is lacking. Here, an experimental approach is used to investigate the mechanical properties of common bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) integument using a custom instrument, the static suction cup (SSCup), to collect data from both trained dolphins and wild individuals (n = 17) during a static pose. Three loading profiles were applied at three sites to quantify nonlinear stiffness, hysteresis, and creep. The site at the dorsal fin insertion exhibited the highest stiffness, while sites posterior to the blowhole and above the pectoral fin showed greater energy dissipation during cyclic loading. Viscoelastic behavior was observed across all sites. Suction cup performance on a surrogate material with broadly similar compliance showed reduced performance compared to cups on rigid acrylic: the maximum applied force at detachment on acrylic (50 N) was twice as large as the compliant substrate (25 N). Reinforced concrete (RC) frames with masonry infills represent a prevalent construction typology across the globe, including moderate to high seismic regions. Such structures are often characterized by high seismic vulnerability, and consequently, there is an urgent need for retrofit solutions to effectively improve their seismic performance. Buckling‐restrained braces (BRBs) represent one such solution. They are a type of dissipative device that can be included within the frames of an existing structure to increase its strength, stiffness, and energy dissipation capacity. Although a substantial amount of research has already been performed to understand the effectiveness of BRBs as a retrofit strategy, these studies have often neglected the contribution of masonry infills and the interactions between the infills and the BRBs. While masonry infills are usually overlooked in the analysis and design stage (owing to their brittle nature), past studies indicated that their strength and stiffness may significantly alter the structure's seismic performance, leading to undesirable and unexpected results. This study presents a detailed investigation of the impact of masonry infills on the seismic response and fragility of BRB‐retrofitted RC frames. A three‐story, three‐bay, low‐ductile RC frame has been selected for case study purposes. High‐fidelity finite element models are developed in OpenSees for combinations of infilled and non‐infilled structures—with and without BRBs. Nonlinear static and dynamic analyses are performed to evaluate the seismic response of the different configurations at local and global levels. Successively, cloud analyses are conducted by considering a set of 150 ground motion records to account for the record‐to‐record variability and develop seismic fragility curves. The present study sheds some light on the mutual interaction between the infill panels and BRBs retrofit intervention and highlights the critical aspects that must be considered in the design. CFD‐PBM numerical simulation is a powerful tool in the research of droplet swarm behavior. In this work, an artificial neural network (ANN) based droplet breakage frequency function is established based on the directly measured data from our previous studies. Then, the weights and biases of ANN are embedded into the CFD‐PBM code in the form of matrices and vectors. For the first time, a CFD‐PBM‐ANN simulation framework is established. Simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental data under different operation conditions. The cumulative droplet size distribution decreases with the increase of interfacial tension and pulse intensity. It is also found by the simulation that the droplet breakage frequency is relatively high at the edge of disc and doughnut plate, which is accordant with the distribution of turbulent energy dissipation and velocity gradient. ABSTRACT In this article, a closed‐loop piping system that includes the self‐priming pump is established and calculated. Two operating processes reflecting real situations are accurately calculated by means of UDF. The vortex identification method, entropy production theory, and energy gradient method are employed to deeply analyze and reveal the energy loss characteristics and flow stability. The results show that in the oscillating exhaust stage, the energy loss is greatest during the oscillating exhaust stage of the self‐priming process. The reflux hole, the tongue, and the outlet section of the volute have larger energy loss. Within the impeller region, the entropy production is mainly concentrated at the impeller inlet and outlet; the entropy production distribution area and value are larger in the clearance of the wear‐ring. In addition, the instability region in the impeller and the left side of the volute is significantly larger than the rest of the locations and increases considerably with the self‐priming process. Highlights This study examines the influence of individual (Graphene) and synergistic fillers (Graphene + Boron Carbide (B4C)) on the mechanical and ballistic performance of glass fiber epoxy‐reinforced composites (GFERCs). The different filler‐reinforced GFERCs were processed using the compression molding technique and cut as per testing standards. The results showed that the sample GF3 which had both the graphene and B4C filler together had significantly enhanced the tensile, flexural, hardness, and impact properties. The properties showed an improvement of 23.3%, 34%, 7%, and 13%, respectively when compared with the unfilled GF1 sample. The ballistic test results also revealed this synergistically filled GF3 sample had the least back‐face signature (BFS) value of 23.5 mm after impact. Fractographic studies showed that the synergistic effect of graphene and B4C also improved the bonding between the epoxy resin and glass fiber. The high toughness required for energy absorption is provided by matrix hardening, strong interfacial bonding, and fiber pullouts. Mainly the hard strike face created by the B4C particles and the energy transfer provided by the graphene particles proved pivotal in ensuring energy dissipation in the composite. Finally, it was observed that the synergistic fillers played the most important role in improving the performance of GFERCs by enhancing the energy dissipation mechanisms. Multiple fillers (Graphene+B4C) enhanced the mechanical and ballistic properties. Synergistic toughening provided by the B4C and graphene particles. Herein, a rational strategy is presented to reduce the energy barrier of singlet ground state to singlet excited state transitions, whilst simultaneously reducing energy losses in populating triplet excited states. The approach relies on constructing 3D space connected donor–acceptor systems in COFs. The 3D space connected D–A system in 8‐connected 3D COFs (denoted as COF‐1 and COF‐2) allows the efficient transfer of electrons, overcoming the traditional electron transport limitations of 2D COFs and significantly boosting the solar energy utilization efficiency under visible light irradiation. COF‐2, possessing an extended π‐conjugated structure relative to COF‐1, demonstrated high selectivity for the photocatalytic generation of H2O2 (6.93 mmol g−1 h−1) in natural seawater without the need for sacrificial reagents, exceeding the performance of most previously reported COF‐based photocatalysts. The 3D space connected D–A system reported in this work offers a new approach for optimizing electron and energy transfer in COF‐based photocatalysts for H2O2 production and other applications. Actuators based on stimulus‐responsive soft materials have attracted widespread attention due to their significant advantages in flexibility and structural adaptability over traditional rigid actuators. However, the development of fast‐actuating, mechanical robust and self‐healing actuators without compromising flexibility remains an ongoing challenge. Here, this study presents a photo‐responsive flexible actuator by incorporating core–shell liquid metal nano‐assemblies into a polyurethane matrix to construct a dynamic supramolecular interface. The nano‐assemblies are endowed with adaptive characteristics to external loading, being expected to dissipate energy via the reversible reconstruction of hydrogen bonding and deformation of nano‐assemblies. The obtained composites exhibit excellent mechanical strength (31 MPa), low modulus (2.02 MPa), high stretchability (1563.95%), autonomous self‐healing (92.5%), and NIR‐responsive actuation properties. Furthermore, the combination of high cohesive energy but fluxible nano‐liquid metal core, and strong dynamic interface not only achieves the balance of high tensile strength and high flexibility but also endows the actuators with outstanding notch‐resistant performance (fracture energy≈58.8 kJ m−2) through multiphase energy dissipation. Materials that combine metallic electrical conductivity and high toughness are in great demand for advancing flexible electronics. However, such materials are still lacking. Previously reported flexible materials with metallic conductivity (≥1 × 106 S·m‒1) usually compromise on toughness (<3 MJ·m‒3). Here, a binary metalgel is presented that features a binary metal continuum stabilized by a three‐dimensional polymer network. The binary metal continuum consists of hard metal particles encapsulated by soft liquid metal. The continuous conductive pathways within the polymer network enable a metallic electrical conductivity of 2.50 × 106 S·m‒1. Additionally, the combination of hard metal particles, soft liquid metal, and polymer network facilitates stress transfer throughout the material, creating a triple‐mode energy dissipation mechanism that enhances toughness to 14.40 MJ·m‒3. Hydrogels, as valuable biomaterials, have limited applications owing to their mechanical fragility. This study presents a structural modification approach to strengthen hydrogels mechanically. First, the precursor hydrogel undergoes deformation through stretching and twisting, resulting in a helical polymer structure and a deformation gradient. This deformed structure is then stabilized by densification and additional crosslinking. The twisted hydrogel shows improved extensibility and toughness owing to enhanced stress transfer in its unique structure. Additionally, multiple hydrogel strands are assembled hierarchically into ropes and cables, exhibiting advantageous mechanical properties such as high energy dissipation and durability. These reinforced mechanical features lead to considerable performance improvements in applications such as strain sensing and impact absorption. Furthermore, practical utility is demonstrated in areas including posture correction and injury prevention. ABSTRACT Both developed and developing countries are affected by the global energy problem. Over the last few decades, the industrial sector's electrical energy demand has grown exponentially, altering the supply‐and‐demand balance. The trend toward Industry 4.0 compliant production facilities necessitates a greater demand for high‐reliability power. Because severe production losses caused by power outages cannot be tolerated, an increasing number of large vital industrial processes integrate centralized high‐quality, online UPS technology onto their network to establish a grid‐to‐load link and continuously condition dirty electricity from the national grid. These facilities distribute electrical power using either an MV or LV system. Based on the integration design, investigating ways to quantify energy efficiency savings of MV versus LV UPS system is required. This paper proposes strategic and technical interventions for these systems and assesses their electrical losses and budgetary ramifications. The paper also aims to contribute to the implementation of an energy efficiency plan and help facilities close power efficiency gaps. From the results obtained, the MV UPS system offers a significant reduction in energy consumption. Compared to the LV UPS system, annual energy losses are reduced by 46% at a load factor of 65%. A significant energy improvement is expected at higher load factors and in larger facilities where longer distribution cables are used. Inverted perovskite/organic tandem solar cells (P/O TSCs) suffer from poor long‐term device stability due to halide segregation in organic–inorganic hybrid wide‐band gap (WBG) perovskites, which hinders their practical deployment. Therefore, developing all‐inorganic WBG perovskites for incorporation into P/O TSCs is a promising strategy because of their superior stability under continuous illumination. However, these inorganic WBG perovskites also face some critical issues, including rapid crystallization, phase instability, and large energy loss, etc. To tackle these issues, two multifunctional additives based on 9,10‐anthraquinone‐2‐sulfonic acid (AQS) are developed to regulate the perovskite crystallization by mediating the intermediate phases and suppress the halide segregation through the redox‐shuttle effect. By coupling with organic cations having the desirable functional groups and dipole moments, these additives can effectively passivate the defects and adjust the alignment of interface energy levels. Consequently, a record Voc approaching 1.3 V with high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 18.59 % could be achieved in a 1.78 eV band gap single‐junction inverted all‐inorganic PSC. More importantly, the P/O TSC derived from this cell demonstrates a T90 lifetime of 1000 h under continuous operation, presenting the most stable P/O TSCs reported so far. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The high overpotential of Li‐O2 batteries (LOBs) is primarily triggered by sluggish charge transfer kinetics at the reaction interfaces. A typical LiBr redox mediator (RM) catalyst can effectively reduce the battery's overpotential. However, it is prone to shuttling and corroding the Li anode, leading to RM loss and reduced energy efficiency. To address these challenges, we introduced Li2MoO4 into the LiBr‐containing electrolyte to promote the solution‐phase mediated LOBs. This addition tailors the anion‐enhanced Li+ solvation sheath layer and forms a robust anion‐derived solid electrolyte interphases (SEI) on the Li anode. The robust SEI effectively mitigates the corrosion of soluble Br3−/Br2 and attacks by highly reactive oxygen species. Additionally, the dispersed and high‐density Li2MoO4 exhibits strong adsorption capabilities for O2/LiO2 and Br‐related species during the discharge/charge process, thereby promoting the growth and decomposition of Li2O2 in the solution phase and inhibiting the shuttle effect of Br‐related species in LOBs. Consequently, the LOBs demonstrate exceptional cycling stability (415 cycles) and high energy efficiency (86.2 %), paving the way for the sustainable development and practical application of these battery systems. Primarily due to the scarce direct field evidence along a same fault, understanding the relationship between the pre‐existing off‐fault damage and coseismic slip distribution remains challenging. This study offers the first field‐based quantitative assessments of fault damage zones along the surface rupture generated by the 2008 Mw 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake in China over eight profiles with 254 outcrops. The width and mean tectonic fracture intensity of the damage zones exhibit pronounced variations along the fault strike. We introduce the damage index as a proxy to quantify the extent of pre‐existing damage. We find a statistically significant anti‐correlation between the damage index and coseismic on‐fault slip. We thus infer that pre‐existing off‐fault damage plays a significant role in dissipating rupture energy, thereby reducing coseismic on‐fault slip. This study provides a natural case for linking the long‐term fault zone evolution and the short‐term earthquake rupture dynamics. Therefore, understanding where large coseismic slip occurs is crucial for mitigating hazards. To address this gap, we conducted a detailed field investigation along the surface rupture of the 2008 Mw 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake, China, characterizing the along‐strike distribution of fault damage zone. Comparing the extent of pre‐existing fault damage with the coseismic on‐fault slip profiles revealed an inverse relationship: a higher extent of pre‐existing off‐fault damage leads to smaller coseismic on‐fault slip. We propose that the dissipation of seismic energy occurring within densely fractured damage zones provides a possible explanation for this phenomenon. Our findings establish critical connections between long‐term fault zone evolution and short‐term earthquake rupture dynamics. From a disaster reduction perspective, identifying off‐fault damage along major active faults before future earthquakes may enhance fault displacement hazard assessments. The molecular conformation of giant molecule acceptors (GMAs) plays a significant role in regulating the intermolecular interactions and their photovoltaic performances in organic solar cells (OSCs). For the linear GMA GT‐l, the stronger homo‐molecular interaction causes its aggregation being weakly affected by the donor, thus forming an ordered molecular stacking and proper phase separation in its blend film. The star‐shaped GMA GT‐s‐based blend film shows a dominant hetero‐molecular interaction that suppresses the aggregation of the donor and acceptor, resulting in smaller phase separation and more uniform vertical phase distribution. While for another star‐shaped GMA GTs, the weakest hetero‐molecular interaction causes its blend film to form larger phase separation. Therefore, the GT‐l based OSC with PM6 as donor shows the highest charge mobilities, the fastest charge transfer (CT) process, reduced energy loss and less charge recombination, contributing to a higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.03%. Comparatively, the PCEs of the OSCs based on GTs and GT‐s are 18.05% and 17.58% respectively. Notably, all the three GMAs based OSCs show excellent thermal stability and long‐term storage stability. The pronounced exciton binding energy (Eb) in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) results in significant energy loss, thereby constraining the photocatalytic efficiency of COFs. Herein, triphenylamine is employed as an electron donor, while triphenyltriazine served as an acceptor; benzene, naphthalene, and anthracene are utilized as π‐bridges with progressively increasing conjugation to synthesize a series of D‐π‐A structured COFs photocatalysts (COF‐1, COF‐2, and COF‐3). The correlation between π‐bridge structures and Eb is systematically examined through the removal of hexavalent uranium U(VI) from tailings wastewater under visible light irradiation as a model reaction. Notably, an increase in π‐bridge conjugation initially enhanced and then diminished the photocatalytic properties of these three catalysts. This phenomenon can be attributed to the fact that coplanarity within the COFs frameworks does not consistently improve with greater π‐bridge conjugations; specifically, COF‐2 featuring a naphthalene π‐bridge exhibited the smallest dihedral angle. The reduced dihedral angle facilitated a more planar and delocalized electron transport pathway between donor and acceptor moieties, leading to decreased Eb and inhibited exciton recombination. Consequently, COF‐2 demonstrated exceptional photocatalytic reduction of U(VI), achieving efficiencies 1.8 times and 1.5 times greater than those of COF‐1 and COF‐3, respectively. Comprehensive Summary: The industrialization of organic solar cells (OSCs) faces challenges due to complex synthesis routes and high costs of organic photovoltaic materials. To address this, we designed and synthesized a series of polythiophene‐based donor materials, PTVT‐T‐xCl (20%Cl, 50%Cl and 100%Cl), by introducing different degrees of chlorine substitution within their conjugated skeletons. The incorporation of chlorine atoms does not change the planar conformation of the conjugated main chain of the control polymer, PTVT‐T, but effectively reduces their HOMO energy levels (≤ –5.3 eV) and alters the crystallinity of the polymers. In addition, when preparing OSC by blending with non‐fused electron acceptor A4T‐16, the non‐radiative energy loss of the three photovoltaic devices gradually decreased with the increase of chlorine content (0.343, 0.278 and 0.189 eV, respectively). Notably, PTVT‐T‐20%Cl exhibited a more moderate nanoscale phase separation with the acceptor, leading to efficient exciton dissociation, lower bimolecular recombination, and thus a favorable current in the OSCs. Consequently, the photovoltaic device based on PTVT‐T‐20%Cl:A4T‐16 achieved a remarkable photovoltaic efficiency of 11.8%. In addition, the PTVT‐T‐xCl series polymers show much lower material‐only‐cost (MOC) values than the other reported photoactive material systems. This work provides the way for the development of low‐cost photovoltaic materials and the industrial application of OSC, overcoming previous limitations posed by high energy losses in polythiophene‐based donors. Comprehensive Summary: Near‐infrared (NIR)‐absorbing polymerized small molecule acceptors (PSMAs) based on a Y‐series backbone (such as PY‐IT) have been widely developed to fabricate efficient all‐polymer solar cells (all‐PSCs). However, medium‐bandgap PSMAs are often overlooked, while they as the third component can be expected to boost power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of all‐PSCs, mainly due to their up‐shifted lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy level, complimentary absorption, and diverse intermolecular interaction compared to the NIR‐absorbing host acceptor. Herein, an IDIC‐series medium‐bandgap PSMA (P‐ITTC) is developed and introduced as the third component into D18/PY‐IT host, which can not only form complementary absorption and cascade energy level, but also finely optimize active layer morphology. Therefore, compared to the D18/PY‐IT based parental all‐PSCs, the ternary all‐PSCs based on D18/PY‐IT:P‐ITTC obtain an increased exciton dissociation, charge transport, carrier lifetime, as well as suppressed charge recombination and energy loss. As a result, the ternary all‐PSCs achieve a high PCE of 17.64% with a photovoltage of 0.96 V, both of which are among the top values in layer‐by‐layer typed all‐PSCs. ABSTRACT Diatoms rely on fucoxanthin chlorophyll a/c‐binding proteins (FCPs) for light harvesting and energy quenching under marine environments. Here we report two cryo‐electron microscopic structures of photosystem I (PSI) with either 13 or five fucoxanthin chlorophyll a/c‐binding protein Is (FCPIs) at 2.78 and 3.20 Å resolutions from Thalassiosira pseudonana grown under high light (HL) conditions. Among them, five FCPIs are stably associated with the PSI core, these include Lhcr3, RedCAP, Lhcq8, Lhcf10, and FCP3. The eight additional Lhcr‐type FCPIs are loosely associated with the PSI core and detached under the present purification conditions. The pigments of this centric diatom showed a higher proportion of chlorophylls a, diadinoxanthins, and diatoxanthins; some of the chlorophyll as and diadinoxanthins occupy the locations of fucoxanthins found in the huge PSI–FCPI from another centric diatom Chaetoceros gracilis grown under low‐light conditions. These additional chlorophyll as may form more energy transfer pathways and additional diadinoxanthins may form more energy dissipation sites relying on the diadinoxanthin–diatoxanthin cycle. These results reveal the assembly mechanism of FCPIs and corresponding light‐adaptive strategies of T. pseudonana PSI–FCPI, as well as the convergent evolution of the diatom PSI–FCPI structures. The three‐in‐one strategy has obvious advantages in improving the power conversion efficiency of organic solar cells (OSCs). In this work, ternary OSCs are constructed with D18:BTP‐eC9‐4F as the host active layer and SM16, a non‐fullerene acceptor with 3D terminal groups and high fluorescence quantum yield (PLQY), as the ternary component. The optimal ternary OSCs have a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.28%. The device performance and the excited state dynamics of ternary OSCs with various BTP‐eC9‐4F/SM16 weight ratios are studied. The device performance results show that the high PLQY of SM16 reduces the non‐radiative energy loss and improves the open circuit voltage. The 3D terminal group and high solubility of SM16 are conducive to adjusting the morphology and benefit in forming bi‐continuous interpenetrating networks, thus facilitating the photocurrent generation, and improving the fill factor. Femtosecond transient absorption spectra show that the proper introduction of SM16 can improve the Förster resonance energy transfer rate and thus improve the reverse hole transfer efficiency. This helps improve the charge generation efficiency and achieves a higher PCE. Inspired by natural spiral curves, this study aims to present a strategy to find a compromise between extensibility and load‐bearing capacity in structures made from polylactic acid (PLA) as a brittle material. Herein, four geometrically distinct double‐spiral modules are fabricated using a three‐dimensional (3D) printer and subjected to tension, in‐plane sliding, and out‐of‐plane sliding to assess both their in‐plane and out‐of‐plane mechanical performance. Subsequently, a modular spiral‐based metastructure is developed and tested under tension in two different directions. The results show that the maximum extension of the modules under different loading scenarios varies from 9 to 86 mm, while their load‐bearing capacity ranges between 18 and 78 N. These significant variations highlight the considerable influence of both geometry and loading conditions on the mechanical behavior of the double‐spiral modules. Moreover, the 250% horizontal and 130% vertical extensibility of the metastructure emphasize the importance of the spatial orientation of the modules in determining the efficiency of spiral‐based metastructures. This study suggests that double‐spirals with adjustable mechanical properties, if designed rationally, can offer a promising strategy to address the limited deformability of materials like PLA, and when arranged in specific spatial configurations, they can contribute to the development of energy‐dissipative metastructures with enhanced extensibility. Inspired by biological mechanisms of impact protection, nanocellulose and linear polyurethane molecular chains are simultaneously tailored and expanded using supramolecular chemistry. This approach has led to the development of a novel impact protection strategy that leverages multilevel hydrogen bonding interactions. These abundant interactions effectively hinder the crystallization of polycaprolactone (PCL) chain segments, resulting in uniformly distributed microphase separation. This configuration achieves a significant fracture strength of 47.5 MPa, while maintaining an exceptional elongation at a break of 974.2%. The results demonstrate that supramolecular polyurethane‐cellulose nanofiber (SPU‐CNF) elastomer significantly reduces impact force and extends the impact buffer time. Crucially, the underlying mechanisms responsible for energy dissipation and impact protection in SPU‐CNF are elucidated. To validate these properties, impact protection tests at varying impact rates are conducted, underscoring the potential applications of the proposed SPU‐CNF in impact‐resistant materials. Developing nonchemical cross‐linked natural rubber (NR) latex gloves with antibacterial properties and simultaneously enhanced mechanical strength and elongation at break is challenging. In this study, liquid‐like silica (SiO2) nanofluids (SiO2 nfs) with hard SiO2 cores and soft organic molecule shells are synthesized and then self‐assembled with graphene oxide (GO) via electrostatic interactions to create GO@SiO2 nfs hybrids, which are blended with NR latex. Strong hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions between NR latex particles and GO@SiO2 nfs hybrids form physically cross‐linked GO@SiO2 nfs/NR composite films. The rigid GO in the hybrids provided reinforcement, while the vicious SiO2 nfs facilitated the energy dissipation during stretching. This synergy results in simultaneous improvements in the mechanical strength and elongation at break of the GO@SiO2 nfs/NR composite films. Their tensile strength increased by 95.2% compared with pure NR films and by 20.6% compared with GO/NR composite films, and the elongation at break improved by 27.8% and 19.4%, respectively. Furthermore, the presence of quaternary ammonium cation in SiO2 nfs conferred excellent antibacterial efficacy against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus to the GO@SiO2 nfs/NR composite films. Researchers have been conducting experiments to improve heat transfer rates and decrease fuel usage to improve heating system efficiency and reduce expenses. It has been demonstrated that incorporating solid nanoparticles into conventional liquids substantially increases thermal conductivity. This study emphasizes its potential usage in diverse heat exchange systems, including heat exchangers, radiators, and electronic cooling systems, highlighting its possible impact on enhancing thermal management in various engineering and industrial applications. This paper addresses the significance of Joule heating and viscous dissipation on the steady Couette–Hartmann flow of a nanoliquid between an asymmetrical channel having arbitrarily conductive walls and thickness. The generation of Hall current and induced magnetic fields (IMFs) is triggered by the existence of a robust magnetic field. The mathematical model is developed based on the underlying assumptions of energy conservation, momentum, and magnetic induction. The assumed models are represented by a set of interconnected ordinary differential equations that employ a suitable and comparable adjustment. The numerical solution to these equations is evaluated for approximate convergence using the Lobatto‐IIIa‐bvp4c‐solver integrated into the MATLAB software. This solver is constructed by means of a finite difference scheme.The implications of relevant evolving parameters on the velocity field (VF), IMF, nanoliquid temperature field (NTF), surface skin friction (SSF), and mass flow rate (MFR) are investigated. Graphical and tabular representations of the VF, IMF, NTF, SSF, and MFR of nanoliquid at the wall surface are shown for various relevant parameter values. It is quantified that rotation causes suppression in the main flow, which elevates the temperature of the nanoliquid. Heat diffusion causes the temperature to decrease, whereas viscous dissipation causes the nanoliquid temperature to increase. The numerical evaluation that captures the implications of Joule heating and viscous dissipation on the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) steady Couette–Hartmann flow of a nanoliquid within an asymmetrical channel assuming arbitrarily conductive walls and thickness is the distinguishing feature of this research. In the majority of the research captured in this area, the channel wall is nonconducting or considered to be perfectly conducting for simplicity. However, the arbitrary wall conductance significantly alters the motion‐generated magnetic field, hence velocity and temperature. Minimizing energy loss is crucial for breaking through the efficiency bottleneck of organic solar cells (OSCs). The main mechanism of energy loss can be attributed to non‐radiative recombination energy loss (ΔEnr) that occurs due to exciton–vibration coupling. To tackle this challenge, tuning intramolecular noncovalent interactions is strategically utilized to tailor novel fused ring electron acceptors (FREAs). Upon comprehensive analysis of both theoretical and experimental results, this approach can effectively enhance molecular rigidity, suppress structural relaxation, reduce exciton reorganization energy, and weakens exciton–vibration coupling strength. Consequently, the binary OSC device based on Y‐SeSe, which features dual strong intramolecular Se ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ O noncovalent interactions, achieves an outstanding power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 19.49 %, accompanied by an extremely small ΔEnr of 0.184 eV, much lower than those of Y‐SS and Y‐SSe based devices with weaker intramolecular noncovalent interactions. These achievements not only set an efficiency record for selenium‐containing OSCs, but also mark the lowest reported ΔEnr value among high‐performance binary devices. Furthermore, the ternary blend device showcases a remarkable PCE of 20.51 %, one of the highest PCEs for single‐junction OSCs. This work demonstrates the effectiveness of intramolecular noncovalent interactions in suppressing exciton–vibration coupling, thereby achieving low‐energy‐loss and high‐efficiency OSCs. Acousto‐optic (AO) devices are known for their high parallel processing capabilities and efficient transduction, essential for real‐time processing systems. As a vital AO medium, chalcogenide glasses exhibit high AO figures of merit (M2), yet high M2 is often coupled with high acoustic attenuation (α). Thus, to obtain the trade‐off between M2 and α, a series of xGeSe2−(100−x)Sb2Se3 (40 ≤ x ≤ 85) is investigated for their AO properties. When GeSe2 content reaches 50%, a stable network of [GeSe4] and [Se2Sb–Se–SbSe2] units forms, minimizing energy loss and α while maintaining a high M2. Compared with conventional AO materials, this composition achieves an exceptional equilibrium between high M2 and reduced α, offering a distinct advantage in optimizing performance. ABSTRACT Under vibration conditions, continuous alternating loads cause fatigue damage to structures, affecting their stability, durability, and overall safety. In this paper, the additional damping structures with entangled metallic wire material (EMWM) is proposed. Dynamic tests with different loading frequencies and loading amplitudes are carried out to evaluate the energy dissipation and stiffness characteristics of the different structures in terms of energy dissipation, loss factor, and average stiffness. Fatigue tests are conducted, and the fatigue life tests are applied with different loading amplitudes and loading frequencies using displacement control, and the fatigue properties are obtained under different numbers of cyclic loading. The test results are analyzed with respect to the energy dissipation mechanism of EMWM and the characteristics of the additional damping structure. The hysteresis curves under different loading times are identified by parameters, and the fatigue mechanical models are constructed. In the damage analysis of material with complex microstructures, a full‐scale direct numerical simulation (DNS) could produce huge computational costs. Alternatively, multiscale modeling is a more effective method by using less degrees of freedom to balance the calculation accuracy and cost. In this paper, a new multiscale damage modeling method is proposed based on the framework of the variational effective model originally presented by Jezdan et al. and the relaxation damage model presented by Junker et al. A variational statement for the free energy and the dissipation potential for a coarse scale model is constructed by relating the free energy and dissipation potential of the fine scale model. In this way, the coarse scale damage variable is defined instead of directly solving in the fine scale model; therefore, the computational efficiency can be increased. Besides, the relaxation damage model can effectively avoid ill‐posed boundary value problems in damage analysis without use of gradients or integration techniques. The shear wall system with cast‐in situ concrete infilled walls has been widely used in high‐rise buildings due to its significant advantages in construction. In this paper, quasi‐static tests were conducted on the shear walls with and without cast‐in situ concrete infilled walls to analyze their failure modes, load‐bearing capacity, stiffness, energy dissipation capacity, and ductility. A simplified model of the shear wall with cast‐in situ concrete infilled walls was proposed based on the fiber element model in OpenSees. The test results showed that the shear wall specimens with cast‐in situ concrete infilled walls exhibited full‐section compression or tension failure, and the cast‐in situ concrete infilled walls did not show obvious damage. Compared with the shear wall without infilled walls, the overall stiffness, load bearing capacity, and energy dissipation capacity of the shear wall specimens with cast‐in situ concrete infilled walls improved, indicating better seismic performance than those without infilled walls. Comparison between the hysteresis and skeleton curves derived from the tests and those simulated by the proposed simplified model revealed errors within 15% for stiffness, yield bearing capacity, and ultimate bearing capacity for shear walls with cast‐in situ concrete infill walls, affirming the effectiveness and accuracy of the model. An innovative assembled stiffener‐plate PEC beam‐column joint (SP‐PEC) is proposed to improve better constructability. In this paper, 12 PEC beam‐column joint specimens were subjected to quasi‐static cyclic tests. The design parameters included the thickness of the stiffener‐plate (equal‐stiffness thickness at load standard combination, full‐stiffness thickness of the cross‐section, and 120% of full‐stiffness thickness of the cross‐section) and the beam‐column connection with or without the stub beam. The results revealed that the assembled SP‐PEC beam‐column joint exhibited better seismic performance than the conventional PEC beam‐column concrete joint. The strength degradation coefficients of SP‐PEC beam‐column nodes are all greater than 0.92, and the stiffness decreases slowly. The specimens had good bearing capacity, deformation ability, energy dissipation capacity, and stiffness under a reasonable stiffener‐plate thickness. Then, the bearing capacity calculation formulae of the novel joint with certain prediction accuracy were proposed. Besides, the finite element models of the test specimens were established in ABAQUS and validated against the test results. Finally, further investigations of the SP‐PEC joint configuration by finite element analysis and engineering design recommendations for the assembled SP‐PEC beam‐column joint were provided. Considering the complicated joint details and installation difficulties of beam‐column joints, a novel type of precast joint that utilizes grouted corrugated metallic ducts was proposed. Four full‐scale specimens were prepared and subjected to the low cyclic loading test, including two precast specimens (interior beam‐column joint and exterior beam‐column joint) and two cast‐in‐place specimens for comparison. The seismic behavior of the joint was evaluated based on failure modes, hysteretic behaviors, ductility, bearing capacity, and energy dissipation. From the test results, all specimens experienced bending failures at the beam end, which kept the plastic hinge away from the joint core area. The precast assembly joints showed excellent seismic behavior, especially in terms of the bearing capacity, ductility, and energy dissipation capacity, which are better than the cast‐in‐place ones. The bearing capacity measured for each specimen was greater than the design standard, indicating that the joints are reasonably designed, and the members are safe and reliable. Cast‐in‐suit stairs and precast stairs were damaged seriously during many earthquakes in recent years. Stairs with new sliding support were put forward in order to avoid the failure of stairs, landing slab in the half floor was divided into two parts and sliding support was placed between stair beam and landing slab. Down‐scaled model of stairs with new sliding support was produced, and reversed cyclic loading test was conducted to investigate the failure mode, hysteretic behavior, ductility, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation. The failure mode was crushing damage of frame column and stair components remained intact. The new sliding support had good working properties and landing slab separated from stair beam under the pull condition. In addition, seven finite element models of staircase were developed to investigate the seismic performance of staircase, and seven finite element models of frame structure were developed to investigate the effect of stairs on the seismic performance of main structure. Lateral stiffness of the staircase was asymmetrical affected by common stairs, so torsional deformation of staircase was large, and stairs with new sliding support had no effect to the lateral stiffness of staircase. Compared with frame structure, the natural period of vibration decreased approximately by 5% and the first vibration mode also changed direction when common stairs was considered, the natural period of vibration and the first vibration mode were not change when sliding support was adopted. This study aims to experimentally investigate the torsional behavior of acrylic latex polymer and alkali‐resistant glass fiber‐reinforced composite shear walls and load‐bearing sandwich panels. Also, this study was aimed to experimentally examine the changes in the torsional moment capacities, twist angle values, energy dissipation capacities, ductility index, and rigidity of the samples for the presence of the additives added to concrete, size, presence of reinforcement in sandwich panels, and effect of sandwich panels. Within the scope of this work, a control sample, two composite shear walls, and two sandwich panels were produced (1500 × 1200 × 150 mm). While adding 5% acrylic latex to the concrete phase of one of the composite shear wall groups, in the other group, both 5% acrylic latex and 1% alkali‐resistant glass fibers were added to the concrete. While the core structure of the sandwich panel group is reinforced, the other group is produced without reinforcement. A total of 10 samples were loaded out of the plane and a torsional moment is created. As a result of the experiment, the torsional moment, twist angle, and energy dissipation capacities were increased for the samples with acrylic latex and alkali‐resistant glass fiber. While glass fibers increased the ductility index of the test samples, they decreased the stiffness value. Acrylic latex, on the other hand, does not have much effect on the ductility index and stiffness value and increased its energy dissipation capacity. Reinforced sandwich panel samples presented greater torsional moment capacities and stiffnesses compared to composite walls, and less ultimate twist angles and energy dissipation capacities. In addition, although the experimental results of the sandwich panels without reinforcement are lower than the other groups, these also showed load‐bearing capability under the effect of the torsional moment. This research investigates the structural performance and failure mechanisms of beam‐column joints reinforced with aramid fiber‐reinforced polymer to bolster the durability and seismic resilience of concrete structures. It meticulously selects and proportions materials such as ordinary Portland cement Grade 53 cement, fine and coarse aggregates meeting IS: 383–1970 standards, and water conforming to IS: 456–2000 specifications. Tests confirm the high quality of ordinary Portland cement, crucial for optimal beam‐column joint performance, while carbon fiber‐reinforced polymer enhances structural integrity with its lightweight composition and substantial tensile strength (3800 MPa–4200 MPa). Failure analysis reveals that non‐aramid fiber reinforced polymer wrapped beam‐column joint specimens predominantly failed due to concrete crushing, whereas aramid fiber‐reinforced polymer‐wrapped specimens failed due to fracture in the aramid fiber‐reinforced polymer composite, emphasizing stress concentration areas. This study underscores the pivotal role of stress distribution in failure mechanisms and underscores the significance of robust reinforcement design in bolstering structural resilience. Clinical evidence suggests that high‐intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is emerging as an increasingly viable non‐invasive treatment for various gynecological diseases, demonstrating both high safety and effectiveness. Nevertheless, HIFU presents challenges in terms of energy dissipation and prolonged treatment time during the therapeutic process. In this study, liposomes containing ammonium bicarbonate (NH4HCO3) and paclitaxel (PTX), a first‐line chemotherapy drug, are utilized to enhance HIFU imaging and therapy. During HIFU treatment, the NH4HCO3 and PTX‐loaded liposomes (PTN@Lip) can release CO2 and NH3 in the tumor's acidic environment. These not only improve HIFU imaging but also regulate the tumor's acidic environment, thereby enhancing the uptake of PTX by tumor cells. Notably, the implementation of PTN@Lip and HIFU activates the immune system, leading to tumor inhibition or even elimination ultimately. Wide‐bandgap (WBG) (Eg ≥ 1.65 eV) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) made from mixed‐halide strategy experience severe photo‐induced halide segregation, leading to detrimental effects on the long‐term operational stability. Developing single‐halogen WBG perovskites can be the fundamental solution to prevent halide segregation. In this review, the recent advances in single‐halogen WBG PSCs, focusing on the cesium (Cs)‐based pure‐iodide (I) perovskite and all the pure‐bromine (Br) perovskite species is summarized. A detailed discussion is conducted on the crystallization dynamics of different perovskite systems. The key challenge for all single‐halogen WBG PSCs is the huge energy loss due to inferior interfacial energy level alignment and high defect density in perovskite films, which greatly hinders efficiency improvement. To this end, it is systematically discuss optimization strategies, including regulating crystallization, passivating defects, achieving aligned energy levels, and eliminating interfacial microstrain, to enhance the photovoltaic performance of solar cells. Furthermore, it is highlighted that Cs‐based pure‐I WBG perovskites encounter significant stability issue due to their low structural tolerance factor, warranting substantial attention. Dimerized acceptors show promise in combining the high performance of small‐molecule non‐fullerene acceptors (NFAs) with the excellent stability of polymer acceptors. The central linking units that connect two acceptor molecules together have a profound impact on dimeric acceptor properties and structure‐performance relationships in blended thin films. It is seen that different linkers significantly affect the electronic properties and morphology in blended thin film. The electron‐donating linker elevates the absorption coefficient, affords a lower bandgap, and reduces energy loss, and thus better photovoltaic device performance. Better fibrillar morphology can be obtained. The best material DY‐EDOT‐based device shows a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 18.21%, an open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.924 V, a short‐circuit current density (Jsc) of 25.20 mA cm−2, a fill factor (FF) of 78.19%, which is among the highest value for dimerized acceptors. This study reveals the fundamental importance of linker units in determining the dimerized acceptor properties and provides useful strategies for developing oligomeric and polymeric acceptors, which is critical in simultaneously improving the performance and stability of organic solar cells (OSCs). The prediction of churning power loss has been a difficult problem in the analysis of spur gears. Thus, an analytical prediction model based on the redefinition of churning power loss and energy transformation is proposed to estimate the churning power of spur gears. Churning power loss is defined as the combination of the power loss due to the drag on the end face, the power loss due to the tangential flow, the power loss due to the acceleration of lubricants in the tooth space, and the power loss due to the centrifugal force. Several comparisons of prediction and experimental results are made and good agreement of those is obtained. Finally, the components of churning power loss under different gears and work conditions are analyzed, and the influences of each part on churning power loss are obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The current‐limiting fuse uses silica (SiO2)‐sand as arc quenching medium to increase a current‐limiting performance during the DC arc quenching process. In order to increase the current‐limiting performance of the fuse, a detailed understanding of an arc resistance rarc$$ {r}_{\mathrm{arc}} $$ rise process is necessary. This paper first carried out a 1000 A DC Cu arc quenching experiment using the silica‐sand to obtain transient change in rarc$$ {r}_{\mathrm{arc}} $$, morphology of the arc, and arc temperature T$$ T $$ during the arc quenching process. As a result, a current decaying increased rarc$$ {r}_{\mathrm{arc}} $$. The arc was maintained in the cavity surrounded by the fulgurite during the current decaying process. The temperature of Cu/SiO2 arc was 25–8 kK at a current region of 950–400 A during the arc quenching process. Second, we theoretically calculated an electrical resistivity ρ$$ \rho $$, and a thermal diffusivity α$$ \alpha $$ as vapor properties for the Cu/SiO2 vapor mixture. As typical results, the admixing of the SiO2 vapor into the Cu arc less increased ρ$$ \rho $$ of the Cu/SiO2 vapor mixture at T$$ T $$ between 25 and 5 kK. The ρ$$ \rho $$ of the Cu/SiO2 vapor mixture drastically increased due to only decay in T$$ T $$. In contrast, the admixing of the SiO2 vapor into the Cu arc significantly increased α$$ \alpha $$ at T$$ T $$ between 15 and 8 kK. The present results indicate that an increase in α$$ \alpha $$ and consequent rise in thermal energy dissipation from the arc is the main role of the silica‐sand vapor mixed with Cu arc in the DC fuse during the arc quenching process. The increased thermal energy dissipation due to the SiO2 vapor admixing further decreases T$$ T $$ to rapidly rise ρ$$ \rho $$ and rarc$$ {r}_{\mathrm{arc}} $$ during the arc quenching process. © 2024 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan and Wiley Periodicals LLC. Photo‐switchable coatings for lithium ion batteries (LIB) can offer the possibility to control the diffusion processes from the electrode materials to the electrolyte and thus, for example, reducing the energy loss in the fully charged state. Fulgide derivatives, as known photo‐switches, are investigated concerning their use as coating for vanadium pentoxide, a potential cathode material for LIB. With the help of Density Functional Theory calculations, two fulgide derivatives are characterized with respect to their photophysics, their aggregation behaviour on the cathode material and the ability to form self‐assembled monolayers (SAM). Furthermore, the two states of the photo‐switchable coating are tested with respect to lithium diffusion from the cathode material, passing the SAM and entering the electrolyte. We found a difference for the energy barriers depending on the state of the photo‐switch, preferring its closed form. This article presents a 16‐way short pulse power divider (PD) with the same input and output impedance based on the transmission line transformer (TLT) principle. Different from the traditional multi‐channel PD composed of impedance tapered transmission lines and PDs in parallel structure, the novel 16‐way PD is cascaded by multi‐stages of series‐parallel structure, which avoids the process of impedance transformer and improves the compactness of the device, as well as the transmission efficiency. It was composed of four stages of the novel series‐parallel constructure converted from coaxial waveguide to microstrip line. And to control the energy dissipation, a unified ground of the output ports was built, and the short‐ended metal shell was loaded between every stage. This 16‐way PD was fabricated and measured. The measured return loss of the PD is less than −16 dB from 440 MHz to 6 GHz, and less than −10 dB from 270 MHz to 6 GHz. The measured peak gain is more than 0.83 when input by a Gaussian pulse with tFWHM = 250 ps (FWHM: full‐width half maximum). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
