Premise: Although several software packages are available for genotyping insertion/deletion (indel) polymorphisms in genomes using next‐generation sequencing data, simultaneously calling indel genotypes across many individuals for use in genetic mapping remains challenging. Methods and Results: We present an integrated pipeline, InDelGT, for the extraction of indel genotypes from a segregating population such as backcross or F2 lines, or from an F1 cross between outbred species. The InDelGT algorithm is implemented in three steps: generating an indel catalog, calling indel genotypes, and analyzing indel segregation. We demonstrated the use of the pipeline with an example data set from an F1 hybrid population of Populus and successfully constructed the two parental genetic linkage maps. Conclusions: InDelGT is a practical tool that can quickly genotype a large number of indel markers within a population following Mendelian segregation. This manuscript reports the first example of charge‐doping‐induced reactivity enhancement in macroscopic‐sized solid state material. Single layer graphene is supported on a Si wafer that has a 300 nm thick SiO2 layer and is heated photothermally in air to ≈240 °C. Applying both positive and negative pulsed back gate voltages increases the rate of graphene oxidation, as measured by the change of ID/IG ratio using Raman spectroscopy. The fact that both electron and hole doping increase the reactivity argues against electrochemical oxidation and suggests a new mechanism is at play. The enhancement effect increases with the magnitude and the frequency of the square wave back gate voltage. Density functional theory calculations indicate that the activation barriers for O2 insertion into graphene and desorption of CO2 decrease in the presence of an electric field. This study suggests charge doping as a new approach that can modulate the reactivity of solid state materials in real time and compliment chemical‐based catalysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article discusses the results of a study on the characterization of blends of polypropylene/easy processing polyethylene (PP/EPPE). The study used differential scanning calorimetry and scanning electron microscopy to analyze the nonisothermal crystallization, melting property, and morphology of blends. It showed that the blends are soluble and homogeneous after crystallization nucleation. The crystallization activation energy of blends and the dilution effect of EPPE on PP are cited.

The article presents research on polypropylene (PP) and metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene elastomer (mPE) blends. The study used differential scanning calorimetry to examine melting behavior, crystallization and isothermal crystallization kinetics of the blends. Results showed that PP and mPE were partially miscible and that adding mPE changed the melting peak of PP to a lower temperature.

The article discusses a study which investigated the melting behavior, nonisothermal crystallization and isothermal crystallization kinetics of polypropylene (PP) with metallocene-catalyzed linear low density polyethylene (mLLDPE) by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Results show that the mLLDPE increased the crystallization rate of PP in nonisothermal crystallization process and decreased it in isothermal process.

The article discusses the results of a study which examined the melting behavior and crystallization kinetics of pure easy processing polyethylene (EPPE) and the mixture of EPPE and linear low density PE (LLDPE). The isothermal and nonisothermal crystallization of EPPE and blends is described using the Avrami analysis. The crystallization of the main chain and the branches of the polymers can occur together by the presence of double melting peaks and double crystallization peaks.

The article presents a study on the morphology, melting behavior and nonisothermal crystallization of polypropylene (PP)/linear bimodal polyethylene (LBPE) blends. The researchers used a PerkinElmer DSC-7 apparatus to record heat flow during the nonisothermal crystallization and melting processes. They found that the LBPE did not affect much of the PP crystallization mechanism but it increased the crystallization rate and reduced the crystallization activation energy.
