A series of low-cost Lewis acidic deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was synthesized and applied for the first time for catalyzing the polymerization of α-pinene to produce terpene resins. The DES catalyst of [AlCl3]3[CPL] prepared via the self-assembly of AlCl3 and caprolactam (CPL) exhibited the highest catalytic activity, and polymerization conditions were optimized by a single-factor method: 15 g α-pinene, 3 g catalyst, 1 g initiator, −5 °C reaction temperature, and 4 h reaction time. Under these conditions, the softening point of the terpene resin reached (annular spheroid method) 118.3 °C, the acid value was 0.22 mg KOH g−1, and the depth of color (Fe–Co method) was 5. The structure of [AlCl3]3[CPL] was characterized using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and UV-vis spectroscopy. GPC measure showed that the number-average molecular weight of the terpene resin was 510, the weight-average molecular weight was 776, and the polydispersity index was 1.523. TG results indicated that the terpene resin had favorable thermal stability. After the reaction, the product and the catalyst could be automatically divided into two phases, which was beneficial for recycling the catalyst. Aims: The basolateral amygdala (BLA) plays an integral role in anxiety disorders (such as post traumatic stress disorder) stem from dysregulated fear memory. The excitability of glutamatergic neurons in the BLA correlates with fear memory, and the afterhyperpolarization current (IAHP) mediated by small‐conductance calcium‐activated potassium channel subtype 2 (SK2) dominates the excitability of glutamatergicneurons. This study aimed to explore the effect of MPP2 interacts with SK2 in the excitability of glutamatergic neurons in the BLA and the extinction of conditioned fear in mice. Methods: Fear memory was analyzed via freezing percentage. Western blotting and fluorescence quantitative PCR were used to determine the expression of protein and mRNA respectively. Electrophysiology was employed to measure the excitability of glutamatergic neurons and IAHP. Results: Fear conditioning decreased the levels of synaptic SK2 channels in the BLA, which were restored following fear extinction. Notably, reduced expression of synaptic SK2 channels in the BLA during fear conditioning was caused by the increased activity of protein kinase A (PKA), while increased levels of synaptic SK2 channels in the BLA during fear extinction were mediated by interactions with membrane‐palmitoylated protein 2 (MPP2). Conclusions: Our results revealed that MPP2 interacts with the SK2 channels and rescues the excitability of glutamatergic neurons by increasing the expression of synaptic SK2 channels in the BLA to promote the normalization of anxiety disorders and provide a new direction for the treatment. Many nanoproteases contain tetravalent metal ions and catalyze peptide‐bond hydrolysis only at high temperature (60 °C). Here, we report a new and effective strategy to explore nanoproteases from nanoparticles containing low valent metal ions. We found that flower‐like CuCoO2 nanoparticles (CuCoO2 NPs) containing low valent Cu+ possessed excellent catalytic activity towards selective cleavage of peptide bonds with hydrophobic residues in bovine serum albumin (BSA) at room temperature. CuCoO2 NPs exhibited excellent stability and had great reusability. CuCoO2 NPs also hydrolyzed heat‐denatured and surfactant‐denatured BSA. Mechanism analysis revealed that the high Lewis acidity of Co3+ and the low valence of Cu+ were both essential for the high protease activity of CuCoO2 NPs. The flower‐like structure of CuCoO2 NPs and the strong nucleophilicity of Cu+‐bound hydroxyl endow them with excellent catalytic performance. Myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury (MI/R) leads to the inevitable clinical consequences of myocardial infarction and subsequent heart failure. Trimetazidine (TMZ), an anti‐ischemic agent, exerts protective potential in MI/R but had limited efficacy for some patients. Here we sought to investigate the single and combined application of gentiopicroside (GPS) and TMZ in MI/R. Notably, GPS had little cytotoxicity to cardiomyocytes. GPS attenuated hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)‐induced cell death, reactive oxygen species production, lactate dehydrogenase and malondialdehyde releases, and antioxidant stress enzyme superoxide dismutase activity, indicating the protective efficacy of GPS against H/R‐induced oxidative injury. Importantly, GPS enhanced the protective efficacy of TMZ against H/R‐mediated cardiomyocyte injury. Additionally, GPS mitigated the transcription and releases of pro‐inflammatory cytokine interleukin‐6 and tumor necrosis factor‐α in H/R‐treated cardiomyocytes, which were enhanced after co‐treatment with TMZ. Mechanistically, GPS activated the AMP‐activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling to inhibit H/R‐induced NOD‐like receptor pyrin domain‐containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, which was further enhanced after costimulation with TMZ. Importantly, blocking the AMPK signaling reversed the protective roles of GPS and its combination with TMZ in H/R‐induced oxidative insult and inflammation. In vivo, both GPS and TMZ alleviated the abnormal cardiac structure, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, and cardiac dysfunction in MI/R rats, which were further enhanced after administration with GPS and TMZ together. Furthermore, GPS intensified TMZ‐mediated inhibition of oxidative injury, inflammation, and the AMPK/NLRP3 signaling in MI/R rats. Collectively, GPS enhances the protective efficacy of TMZ against MI/R injury through AMPK activation‐mediated inhibition of NLRP3 inflammasome signaling, implying a promising therapeutic agent for the treatment of MI/R. Objective: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a disorder resulting from organic and functional coronary artery stenosis (CAS), thus causing reduced oxygenated blood in the heart. miRNAs are useful biomarkers in the diagnosis of atherosclerosis, CHD, and acute coronary syndrome. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is closely related to CHD. This study explored the correlation of miR‐296 and VEGF‐B expression levels in peripheral blood with CAS degree in CHD patients. Methods: Totally 220 CHD patients were enrolled and classified into mild‐(71 cases)/moderate‐(81 cases)/severe‐CAS (68 cases) groups, with another 80 healthy cases as controls. The serum miR‐296 and VEGF‐B expression levels were detected using reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The correlation between miR‐296 and CAS‐related indexes was assessed via Pearson analysis. The binding relationship of miR‐296 and VEGF‐B was first predicted and their correlation was further analyzed via the Pearson method. The clinical diagnostic efficacy of miR‐296 or VEGF‐B on CAS degree was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic curve. Results: Serum miR‐296 was downregulated in CHD patients and was the lowest in patients with severe‐CAS. miR‐296 was negatively‐correlated with high‐sensitivity C‐reactive protein, brain natriuretic peptide, and cardiac troponin I. miR‐296 targeted VEGF‐B. VEGF‐B was upregulated in CHD patients and inversely‐related to miR‐296. Low expression of miR‐296 and high expression of VEGF‐B both had high clinical diagnostic values on CAS degree in CHD patients. miR‐296 combined with VEGF‐B increased the diagnostic value on CAS. Coinage metal-alkynyl clusters have been developed rapidly over the past few decades. An attractive area of this field is the integration of polyoxometalates (POMs) to direct the formation of metal-alkynyl clusters. POMs are metal-oxide clusters with unique structural diversity and tunable properties, and by incorporation of POM anions into the skeleton, the resulting clusters could be stabilized, functionalized, and so on. Purpose: The STOP-Bang questionnaire is the most widely used to detect surgical patients at high risk of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, the body mass index (BMI) cutoff value in the original STOP-Bang questionnaire is 35 kg/m2; the BMI in the Chinese population is lower than that. We aimed to establish a more appropriate BMI cutoff value in the STOP-Bang questionnaire for Chinese patients.Methods: A total of 790 consecutive patients scheduled to undergo surgery at our hospital were included in this prospective study. All patients were asked to complete the STOP-Bang questionnaire and undergo a 7-h overnight polysomnography (PSG). The ability of STOP-Bang questionnaire to detect moderate to severe OSA (AHI ≥ 15 events/h) was assessed.Results: When the BMI cutoff value was set at 28 kg/m2, the questionnaire had the highest Youden index, although no significant differences were found in the sensitivity of the test compared with the original BMI cutoff in total and in male patients. In females, changing the BMI cutoff value from 35 to 28 kg/m2 resulted in the sensitivity of the test significantly increasing from 79.2% (74.9-83.5) to 89.3% (84.4-94.1), while the decrease in specificity was minor (from 43.6% [41.2-46.0] to 38.2% [36.1-40.3]), and the Youden index was highest (0.27) at this cutoff value. When the STOP-Bang questionnaire score was 4, the highest Youden index was obtained.Conclusions: We recommend using a BMI cutoff value (28 kg/m2), and a STOP-Bang score ≥ 4 allows the anesthetist to identify patients with high risk of OSA. Warfarin is the most commonly used oral anti-coagulant in clinic practice. However, it is difficult to recommend the correct dosage due to its narrow therapeutic window. The aim of the present study was to verify the clinical value of the Lou type equation, using pharmacogenetics‑based warfarin dosing algorithms to appropriately predict the actual maintenance dose. A total of 87 Chinese Han patients who required treatment with warfarin were enrolled and randomly divided into the experimental and control groups. In the experimental group, the first 3 doses of warfarin were calculated according to the Lou type equation. While in the control group, these 3 treatments were performed following the doctors' recommendations. Then the dose of warfarin was gradually adjusted to the stable dose according to the changes in the international standardized ratio. At the end of the 50 day experimental period, there were a greater number of patients in the experimental group who exhibited a stable blood concentration of warfarin than those in the control group (83.35 and 64.4%, respectively). In addition, the mean and median times for patients to obtain a stable dose in the experimental group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (mean, 18.2±1.7 and 27.3±2.0 days; and median, 11.7±1.1 and 20.5±1.8 days, respectively). The adverse reaction rate of the experimental group (9.5%) was markedly lower than that of the control group (26.7%). The occurrence of adverse reactions in the experimental group was also significantly later when compared with the control group (43.9±1.6 and 38.6±1.5 days, respectively). Furthermore, there was no significant difference between the average predicted dose (3.4±1.1 mg/day) and the average actual dose (3.5±1.4 mg/day; P=0.313). In conclusion, using the Lou type warfarin pharmacokinetic dosing algorithm equation to administer warfarin markedly shortened the adjustment time of warfarin to reach a stable dose and reduced the adverse reactions rate, thus supporting clinical feasibility. In this study, we made the first estimate of the annual dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP) load to Lake Erhai, a typical mesotrophic–eutrophic lake in China. We also evaluated what proportion of DOP was bioavailable using enzymatically hydrolyzable phosphorus (EHP), and further assessed the potential impacts of DOP on lake water quality. We estimated that the annual DOP load into Lake Erhai accounted for nearly 50% of total dissolved phosphorus, while EHP accounted for about 30% of the bioavailable phosphorus (BAP) pool. The DOP load increased and accounted for a greater proportion of total dissolved phosphorus and BAP loads during the wet season, and helped maintain algal blooms. Inflowing rivers were the main source of DOP with high bioavailability to Lake Erhai, especially in the wet season. The EHP concentrations of the inflowing rivers were positively correlated with algal biomass. The observation suggests that, as a significant source of BAP, the contribution of the DOP load to eutrophication of the lake should not be ignored, especially given the low soluble reactive phosphorus concentrations in the lake water during the algal biomass period. Information on the contributions from different pollution sources is needed to support the development of effective P pollution control strategies. Short-term strategies to protect Lake Erhai include better management of the inflowing rivers, especially in the northern part during the wet season, while, over the long-term, strategies to decrease P release from lake sediments should be considered. To establish the influence of dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP) from different sources on the water quality of Erhai Lake in August 2014, enzymatic hydrolysis technology was used to characterize enzymatically hydrolyzable phosphorus (EHP). The results indicate that the DOP represents a significant source of the bioavailable P in the lake water and its different sources of Erhai Lake, and the bioavailability of the P pool may be underestimated by up to 55% if DOP is ignored and only the soluble-reactive phosphorus (SRP) is considered. The significant differences in DOP characteristics from the different sources may be related to the origin of the DOP, regional pollution, and environmental factors. The DOP from the sediment porewater can act as an important source of DOP in the lake water based on its high DOP content and high DOP loads from the sediment release. In addition, the highest EHP loads from the sediment release can threaten the water quality of Erhai Lake and sustain the algal blooms when they occur. Therefore, for the protection of Erhai Lake, the contributions of not only the SRP but also the DOP to the bioavailable P pool should be considered, emphasizing the eutrophication risk caused by DOP from sediments, especially in the middle section of Erhai Lake. The title compound, 3,5-Dimethyl-pyrazole-1-carbodithioic acid benzyl ester, has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectra, and UV-Vis spectrum. The crystal belongs to orthorhombic, space group P212121, with a = 5.3829(15), b = 11.193(3), c = 21.824(6) Å, V = 1315.0(6) Å3, and Z = 4. The molecules are connected via intermolecular C-H···N hydrogen bonds into 1D infinite chains. The crystal structure is consolidated by the intramolecular C-H···S hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, Density functional theory (DFT) calculations of the structure, stabilities, orbital energies, composition characteristics of some frontier molecular orbitals and Mulliken charge distributions of the title compound were performed by means of Gaussian 03W package and taking B3LYP/6-31G(d) basis set. The time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) calculations have been employed to calculate the electronic spectrum of the title compound, and the UV-Vis spectra has been discussed on this basis. A new sediment P release risk index (SPRRI) for "in-situ" phosphorus (P) release risk in lake sediment, is developed based on diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) technique, DGT induced flux in sediments (DIFS) model and sediment properties. SPRRI includes three sub-indexes, which contain (1) the labile P pool size, (2) resupply constant (r) and desorption rate (Dspt rate) for P transfer and (3) the molar ratio between iron (Fe) in sequential extraction for sediment P by bicarbonate-dithionite (BD) and aluminum (Al) by NaOH (at 25 °C), i.e. BD(Fe)/Al[NaOH25] in sediment solid. The first sub-index considers P release from (i) sediment with NH 4 Cl-P+BD-P pool, i.e. the loosely sorbed P (NH 4 Cl-P) plus iron associated P (BD-P), or (ii) sediment with NH 4 Cl-P pool, respectively. The second and third sub-indexes reflect kinetic P desorption and resupply ability of solid phase, and the effect of P sequestration by Al hydroxide on P release, in turn. The inner relationship between SPRRI and sub-indexes, and their effects on P release risk are elucidated. SPRRI can be used to evaluate sediment P reactivity by five release risk ranks. For Lake Dianchi (China), P transfer dynamics, labile P pool, resupply ability and Al-P in sediment, and "external P-loading" control and affect P release risk in different regions, which is reflected by the spatial distribution map for SPRRI. The present SPRRI can be applied for lakes with (1) pH range varying from moderate acidity to weak alkalinity in waterbody and (2) NH 4 Cl-P or NH 4 Cl-P+BD-P pool in sediment solid. On the other hand, the NLR Family Pyrin Domain Containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome plays an critical role in the atherosclerosis development, which is regulated by the AMPK. However, whether the CTRP9 affects the activity of NLRP3 inflammasome during the atherosclerosis development remains unclear, which would be elucidated in the current study. The macrophage cells were stimulated with the oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) and also treated with the recombinant CTRP9 in the meantime. The activation of NLRP3 inflammasome was determined by measuring the releasing of IL-1β and caspase-1 p10 via ELISA and western blot, respectively. Then the AMPK was inhibited in macrophages by Dorsomorphin. Finally, the CTRP9-AMPK-NLRP3 inflammasome pathway was validated in the mouse model of atherosclerosis. The CTRP9 could down-regulate the expression of NLRP3 protein and also the activity of NLRP3 inflammasome in the ox-LDL activated macrophages. Inhibiting the AMPK significantly restored the activities of NLRP3 inflammasome. In the apolipoprotein E-deficient mice, lentiviral expression of CTRP9 could suppress the atherosclerosis development, which could be abolished by AMPK inhibition.
