This article considers the role of the Kazan school of history and ethnology in the development of Professor P.V. Denisov’s views and professional expertise. Kazan University is the alma mater of numerous notable Chuvash researchers. Many studies on the Chuvash people were performed within its walls, particularly by N.V. Nikolsky, V.K. Magnitsky, I.Ya. Yakovlev, N.I. Zolotnitsky et al. P.V. Denisov, who rose to prominence as a scholar and lecturer within the scientific and educational centers of Kazan, carried on their work with great merit. Here, his collaborations with Kazan colleagues and his substantial contributions to the advancement of ethnology and pedagogy were analyzed. Based on the analysis, several conclusions were drawn. P.V. Denisov dedicated his life to promoting science and mentoring further generations of highly qualified and skilled historians and ethnologists. His academic and pedagogical endeavors were mostly connected with I.N. Ulyanov Chuvash State University, where he taught historical and ethnographic disciplines, as well as established and headed the Department of Archaeology, Ethnography, and Regional History. Throughout his life, he published 120 scholarly works and supervised 20 holders of candidate and doctorate degrees in history. He was proud to be an alumnus of Kazan University and always maintained friendly and professional ties with his colleagues from Tatarstan. P.V. Denisov’s heritage and achievements have become deeply ingrained in Russian ethnology and pedagogy. His influence and ideas live on in the memories of his students. The obtained results hold both scientific and practical significance, shed light on the history of ethnology in the Volga–Ural region, and provide valuable material for studying and sketching the lives of famous Kazan University alumni.

Urgency of the research. Academic integrity is a key component of the quality of higher education and a significant factor in shaping academic culture in the modern information society. The issue of adhering to the principles of academic integrity has become especially relevant with the spread of distance learning, the increase in academic mobility, and the integration of Ukrainian universities into the European educational space. Target setting. Despite significant efforts to implement academic integrity policies in higher education institutions, the level of compliance remains low. This is due to insufficient awareness among students and faculty about the consequences of academic misconduct, as well as the lack of effective mechanisms for monitoring and supporting academic ethics. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. Various aspects of academic integrity have been studied by both domestic and foreign scholars, who focused on the issues of adhering to academic norms, implementing integrity principles in the educational process, and analyzing the factors that promote or hinder the enforcement of academic integrity. However, questions regarding effective practices and tools for supporting integrity in the modern context of education digitalization remain insufficiently explored. The research objective. The aim of this study is to identify the main problems of maintaining academic integrity in Ukrainian higher education and to develop recommendations for overcoming these challenges, considering current trends. The statement of basic materials. The study analyzes the factors influencing academic integrity among students and faculty in Ukrainian universities. Special attention is given to the impact of distance learning on the adherence to academic norms and to the methods for reducing instances of academic misconduct. Conclusions. Supporting academic integrity requires a systemic approach that includes raising awareness among participants in the educational process, developing clear policies and monitoring tools, and implementing effective preventive measures. The University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine established the Pittman Scholars Program in 2015 to elevate scientific impact and to support the recruitment and retention of highly competitive junior faculty. The authors examined the impact of this program on research productivity and on faculty retention. The authors evaluated publications and extramural grant awards and available demographic data for the Pittman Scholars compared to all junior faculty in the Heersink School of Medicine. From 2015 to 2021, the program awarded a diverse group of 41 junior faculty members across the institution. For this cohort, ninety-four new extramural grants were awarded and 146 grant applications were submitted since the inception of the scholar award. Pittman Scholars published a total of 411 papers during the term of the award. The faculty retention rate of the scholars was 95%, comparable to that of all Heersink junior faculty, with 2 recipients being recruited to other institutions. The implementation of the Pittman Scholars Program has been an effective strategy to celebrate scientific impact and acknowledge junior faculty members as outstanding scientists at our institution. The Pittman Scholars award allows junior faculty to use funds for their research program, publications, collaborations, and career advancement. The Pittman Scholars are recognized at local, regional, and national levels for the work they are contributing to academic medicine. Tässä artikkelissa analysoidaan Suomen Tiedeakatemiassa vuosina 1910–1957 edesmenneille tiedemiehille pidettyjä muistopuheita niiden historiakäytön kannalta. Lähestymistapana on bourdieulainen kulttuurisen reproduktion näyttökulma eli miten muistopuheet uusintavat akateemisen muisto- ja historiakulttuurin keskeisiä aatteita ja ajattelutapoja (habitusta) siirtäen ne jatkumona eteenpäin seuraaville sukupolville. Keskeinen analyysin käsite on panteonisaatio eli muistettujen, suurten tiedemiesten kohottaminen tavallisen kansan yläpuolelle, esimerkkiyksilöiksi tuleville polville. Tällaisella muistelulla on merkittävä historiakäyttönsä, kun megasubjekti kansakunnan – isänmaaksi projisoituna – kollektiivista historiatietoisuutta ja muistia halutaan pitää yllä sen etua ajaneiden, esikuvallisten henkilöiden muistoa kunnioittamalla ja erityisesti heidän positiivisia luonteenpiirteitään esittämällä (representaatio).

Aim: To do justice to the need for planetary health in medical education, these are the aims of the online elective course "Planetary Health in Medical Education" (ME elective): 1. Enable students to plan and realize their own course sessions on planetary health; 2. Encourage communication among university medical faculties regarding planetary health in medical education; 3. Reinforce competency in digital teaching and amplify the expert role as multiplicator among students pursuing a Master's degree in Medicinal Education (MME). Method: The development of the ME elective followed Kern's six-step approach to curriculum development by means of cooperation between the German Medical Students' Association (Bundesvertretung der Medizinstudierenden in Deutschland, abbreviated as bvmd), and the MME study program. Based on general and specific needs analyses, core learning objectives regarding planetary health, medical education and digital education were identified in the National Catalogue of Learning Objectives in Undergraduate Medical Education (NKLM) and the MME study program and relevant teaching methods were selected. Results: The ME elective, consisting of two contact hours per week per semester, was established at 13 medical schools as a four-phase course: 1. Introduction to medical education using examples from planetary health; 2. Lesson planning on a topic in planetary health under the supervision of MME students; 3. Course sessions held by the undergraduate students; and 4. Networking with the MME study program through participation in digital courses on planetary health and the pilot OSCE on planetary health. A total of 24 students attended the pilot in the 2022 summer semester. Conclusion: The topic of planetary health combines interests that span many subjects and semester levels. As a collaborative, interdisciplinary and interprofessional subject, it lends itself to training students in a trans-institutional elective course to become multiplicators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Osmanlı devletinde İslamî ilimlerin her dalında birçok ilim adamı yetişmiştir. Bunlardan biri de Fatih Sultan Mehmet ve II. Beyazid dönemlerinde yaşamış olan Yûsuf b. Hüseyin el-Kirmastî’dir. Hayatı hakkındaki bilgiler çok az ve sınırlıdır. Hayatını Osmanlı devletine başkentlik yapmış olan Bursa ve İstanbul’da geçirmiş üretken bir âlimdir. Kirmastî Horasan, Şam ve Mısır gibi ilim merkezlerine gitmemiş, Molla Hüsrev gibi bütün tahsilini Osmanlı devletine başkentlik yapmış olan Bursa ve İstanbul’da yapmıştır. Tahsilini babası Fakih Hüseyin’den yapmaya başlayan Kirmastî, başta Fâtih Sultan Mehmed’in hocası Hocazâde Muslihuddin Efendi olmak üzere zamanın alimlerinden ders alarak yetişmiştir. Kirmastî, Osmanlı medreselerinde, Sahn-ı Semân’da hocalık yapmış ve Bursa’ya kadı olmuştur. Bursa’da gösterdiği başarılı ve liyakatli kadılık görevinden dolayı kendisinden daha fazla istifade edilmesi için İstanbul’a atanmıştır. Bursa ve İstanbul’da kadılık yapmasına rağmen hocalıktan hiçbir zaman uzak durmamış ve tedris faaliyetlerine devam etmiştir. Doğruya ve hakka bağlılığı sebebiyle II. Bayezid’in takdirini ve övgüsünü kazanmıştır. Ömrünü müderrislik yapmakla geçiren Kirmastî birçok talebe yetiştirdiği bilinse de kaynaklarda ona talebelik yapan kimseler arasında Mevlâ Şu’ayb et-Turâbî dışında başka bir isme rastlanmamaktadır. Günümüzde yapılan bazı çalışmalarda Osmanlı şeyhülislâmı ve tarihçisi olan Kemalpaşazâde onun yetiştirdiği talebelerden biri olarak zikredilse de klasik kaynaklarda, bunu teyit edecek bilgiye rastlanmamıştır. Genç yaşta telif çalışmalarına başlayan Kirmastî, belâgat, fıkıh, fıkıh usulü, kelam, mantık ve münazara olmak üzere birçok alanda eser kaleme almış çok yönlü bir âlimdir. Zübdetü’l-vusul’un muhtasar hali olarak ele alınan el-Veciz adlı bu çalışma fıkıh usulü konusunda yazmış olduğu el-Vecîz adlı eserini incelemektedir. Kirmastî’nin, genel olarak eserlerini sistematik bir şekilde muhtemelen öğrencilerine ders kitabı olması gayesiyle eğitim amacıyla yazdığı görülmektedir. Kirmastî usûl-i fıkha dair eserlerini karma/memzûc metotla yazmıştır. Daha çok matematik ve mantık alanlarındaki çalışmalarıyla tanınan Gelenbevî İsmâil Efendi el-Vecîz’i; kıraat ve nahiv âlimi, reîsülkurrâ Abdullah Eyyûbî’ye okutmuştur. Saçaklızâde Mehmed Efendi, Tertîbü’l-ulûm’da el-Vecîz’den övgüyle bahsetmektedir. Osmanlı Devleti’nin büyük âlimlerinin Hanefî usulüne dair meşhur eserleri değil de usûl-i fıkha dair Kirmastî’nin eserlerini öğrencilerine ders kitabı olarak okutmuş ve övmüş olması, onun bu alandaki başarısını ispatlar niteliktedir. Kirmastî, eserlerinde usûl-i fıkha dair konuları mersad, fasl, maksad ve bâb isimleriyle ifade etmiştir. O, el-Vecîz’de konuları işlerken Şâfiî mezhebinin usul görüşlerine işaret etse de Hanefi mezhebinin usulünü iltizam etmiş ve kendisi de Hanefî usulünü esas almıştır. Buna rağmen Kirmastî’nin usûl kitaplarında konuları başlıklandırırken ve tertipte Ebü’l-Berekât en-Nesefî’nin Menârü’l-envâr, Sadrüşşerîa’nın Tenkhu’l-usûl ve Molla Hüsrev’in Mirkâtü’l-vüsûl ilâ ilmi’l-usûl gibi Hanefi ulemanın metinlerinden farklı bir yöntem izlediği, karma yöntem kullandığı, hatta zaman zaman hem tertipte hem de konu anlatımında Mütekellimin yönteme başvurduğu görülmektedir. Çalışmamızda el-Vecîz’in tahlilinde söz konusu eserlerle kıyaslama yapılarak farklılıklar ortaya konmuştur.

Eğitim, insanla birlikte var olan bir olgudur. Eğitimin ilmî bir disiplin hâlini alması ise yenidir. Yakın döneme kadar eğitim, din eğitimi, ahlâk ve değer eğitimi şeklinde birbirinden ayrı alanlar da söz konusu değildir. Dolayısıyla bunların ilmî birer disiplin olarak birbirlerinden ayrılmaları da yeni bir hadisedir. Zira tarihsel süreçte eğitim, dinî ve ahlâkî bir karakteri haiz olup bunların her biri diğerinden bağımsız alanlar olarak telakki edilmemiştir. Burada din, eğitime anlamlı gaye ve hedefler sağlarken ahlâk, hem dinin hem de eğitimin önemli amaçlarından birini teşkil etmektedir. Ayrıca tam anlamıyla tahakkuk etmesi, olumlu ve dengeli bir kişilik oluşturması adına eğitimin dinî ve ahlâkî karakteri de önem arz etmektedir. Bu nedenle günümüzde eğitim, din eğitimi, değer ve ahlâk eğitimi şeklindeki adlandırmaların tarihsel süreçte hangi kavramlara karşılandığının ya da hangi kavramlarla ilişkili olduğunun ortaya konması büyük bir önemi haizdir. Ehl-i Sünnet kelâmının ve tasavvufun kurucu isimleri arasında yer alan Hâris el-Muhâsibî (öl. 243/857), insanın dinamik yapısını oluşturan, onun olumlu-olumsuz eylemlerinin kaynağı konumundaki kalp, akıl ve nefsin belli bir ölçü ve denge içerisinde eğitilmesi gerektiği üzerinde duran, bu yönde çok sayıda kavrama yer veren erken dönem âlimlerinden birisidir. Muhâsibî’nin insanın içten dışa değişimi ve dönüşümü, onun eğitimi ve öğretimiyle ilgili farklı kavramlara değindiği görülmektedir. Bu yönüyle çalışmamız, Muhâsibî’nin -günümüzdeki anlamıyla- eğitim, din ve ahlâk eğitimiyle ilgili yer verdiği kavramları konu edinmekte, bunları hangi anlamlarda kullanıldığını ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu şekilde eğitime dair kavramların gelenekten tevarüs edilen birikimle ve klasik metinler bağlamında ele alınması, eğitimin günümüzdeki muhtevasını, yaşadığı değişimleri, daralmaları vs. anlamayı daha da kolaylaştıracaktır. Hem kavramların hem de bunların sahip olduğu muhtevanın tespit edilmesi bağlamında öncelikle Muhâsibî’nin eserlerinden istifade edilmiştir. Buna göre araştırma yazılı dokümanların incelenmesi yöntemiyle ele alınmıştır. Muhâsibî’nin başta edeb olmak üzere eğitime dair ele aldığı kavramlar -dönemin genel anlayışına uygun olarak- dinî ve ahlâkî bir tema taşımaktadır. Ta‘lîm/te‘allum, ders/tedrîs, edeb/te’dîb, tasfiye, tathîr, ıslâh ve mücâhede (mücâdele ve mükâbede) Muhâsibî’nin yer verdiği başlıca kavramlardır. Terbiye, tehzîb, tezkiye ve riyâzet gibi kavramlara ise ya hiç değinmediği ya da çok az değindiği görülmektedir. Muhâsibî, bunlardan edeble -bilhassa tasavvuf çevresinde ele alındığı şekliyle- dinî/ahlâkî bir içerikle ve daha çok nefsin terbiye edilmesi yönüyle ilgilenmiştir. Bunun yanında diğer kavramların da benzer bir içerikle ele alındığı gözlenmektedir.

İslam Tarihi ve Medeniyetinde önemli bir yere sahip olan Cürcân, Hazar Denizi’nin güney doğusunda yer almaktadır. Cürcân şehri; jeopolitik konumu, limanı, verimli sulak arazileri ve İpek Yolu güzergâhında olması hasebiyle daima cazibe merkezi olmuştur. Net olmamakla beraber geçmişi çok eski tarihlere dayanan şehirde önceleri farklı mahalli hanedanlıklar hüküm sürmüştür. İlk defa Hz. Ömer’in hilafetinde fethedilen şehirde bilahare isyanlar çıkmış ve şehir birçok defa el değiştirmiş, Müslümanların şehir ve bölgede tam anlamıyla hâkimiyet kurabilmeleri ancak Emevî halifelerinden Süleyman b. Abdülmelik’in döneminde mümkün olabilmiştir. Bölge Abbasîler döneminde daha ziyade yönetim muhaliflerinin sığınağı haline gelmiştir. Ziyarî Hanedanlığı’nın (928-1090) Cürcan’ı merkez edinmesiyle sükûnete kavuşan şehir bundan sonra büyük âlimlerin yetiştiği bir ilim, kültür ve sanat merkezine dönüşmüştür.

Traditional models to train and teach young players in team sports assume that athletes learn as linear systems. However, an actual methodology called Non-Linear Pedagogy (NLP) accounts for the fact that the players and the team are complex dynamic systems. Experiences in handball under this methodology are scarce; due to this, an observational study has been conducted with a follow-up, idiographic and multidimensional design, in which 14 female school handball players belonging to four different local teams in Santiago, Chile (age = 15.55 + 0.51) agreed to participate in three special handball training sessions with the use of the NLP methodology where three different constraints were used. Descriptive analysis with the Chi-squared test showed a total of 252 observations where most of the variables were dependent on the constraints (p ≤ 0.001). Frequency showed that mainly "Defense in Line of progression" and "Proximal contact" were the most activated variables, followed by "Harassment" and "Deterrence" for all constraints. However, only constraint 2 highly activated two collective motor behaviors, while the rest only did it with individual motor behaviors. It is concluded that the constraints used in training seem to be effective in activating a group of defensive handball motor behaviors, specifically those that are basic for female school handball players. Purpose This study aimed to reveal how Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI)’s scholars, Ismail Yusnto, Felix Siuw, dan Fatih Karim used Youtube as ideological battle. It focused on discussing how texts experienced bias in representing khilâfah and how HTI ustaz used Youtube as a means to scroll their ideology. Method The study was qualitative research that used the verbal data of khilâfah discourse uploaded on Youtube as the primary source. Collecting the data, the researchers observed the discursivity of khilâfah as the main theme of discourse presented by HTI’s scholars on their preaching in Youtube. In data analysis, the study applied Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis. Results/Findings The study showed that the HTI’s scholars exploited the khilâfah discourse through intellectual and well-packaged ways, one of which was through interesting and innovative videos uploaded on Youtube. The concept of khilâfah conveyed massively by the HTI’s scholars, especially on Youtube led to a single understanding of the khilâfah using HTI’s perspective. Conclusion There were discourses about the governmental system that can be implemented in a country; and khilâfah was one of alternative system to apply. Khilâfah was not a single system by which a country was said to be Islamic one because Islam does not specifically regulate the government system. Therefore, it is important for the government to invite moderate scholars to enliven the khilâfah discourse to present more comprehensive one.

The article studies the Nakhichevan period of educational, scientific and socio-political activity of the Armenian scholar Y.Shahaziz. He had been teaching in numerous educational institutions of the city for forty years. He was a member of different charitable organizations, ostensible member of the City Council and the organizer of the first city museum. It was in Nakhichevan, where he wrote a number of important scientific works on the history and ethnography of the Don Armenians.

The view of Western on China is constantly changing, depending on the exchanges between the two areas and the emotions that embrace the protagonists. Initially, the increase in exchanges mainly favored the translation of Western texts into Chinese writing. Later, the growing attraction to Chinese culture has led to an increase in the number of sinologists and the diversification of translations of Chinese texts in the Western world. The translation of the stories concerning the creation, before 1911 and the advent of the Republic, revealed the complex personality of the scholar who is probably not limited to his position as an administrative official. He appears as an artist and intellectual, an ingenious scientist, sometimes a gardener (Ji Chen) or a botanist (Chen Haozi), or even an inventor (Li Yu). The stories, marginal according to the translators, of these creative and inventive men, at the crossroads of disciplines, nevertheless echo the stories of contemporary designers. The translation of Chinese literary stories into French language that we studied, tell a particularly refined art of living with perfume. The scholars conceived utensils, uses, circumstances, to live harmoniously in a fragrant world. Today, in these translations, should we qualify this character as “scholar”, “designer”, or even more precisely “olfactory designer”? A dialogue between sinologists and designers seems to be essential.

This research aims to find out the pattern of Islamic jurisprudence’s thought and the ijtihad method of K.H. Lanre Said. This research is a qualitative descriptive using data related to Islamic jurisprudence’s thought of K.H. Lanre Said. The results showed that the knowledge of K.H. Lanre Said in the field of Islamic jurisprudence is enough high. Although it looks practical and simple, his ability to decipher the opinions of scholars is very good especially in the description of evidence derived from hadith. He expressed the opinions of the scholars then conclude them, although in several problems he did not choose one opinion of the scholars even made his own opinion. The Islamic jurisprudence concept in his mind is enough dynamic because he wrote many laws in jurisprudence problems relating to the law of ablution (taharah) until corpse (janazah) and other issues that are widely questioned and often occur in the community. In general, it can be said that the pattern of K.H. Lanre Said’s thought does not depend on just one sect (mazhab), even he encourage the freedom of embracing the spect.

The present article states that the development of Fichte’s philosophy of Right stands in contradiction with the way that he founded the metaphysical ground of his system: morality as I’s rational and practical search to overcome the check of reality and to unify with itself. Thus, the paper exposes the impossibility to reconcile two texts: Grundlage der gesamten Wissenschaftslehre (GWL) and Grundlage des Naturrechts (GNR). In the latter, Fichte presents the Doctrine of Right and the State as mediums for the individual to reach its telos. But this affects the consistency of his thought. Although there is a hermeneutic background for this idea, it is groundbreaking as it exhibits Fichtean argumentative problems within Jena’s works. The article also takes into consideration the text: Einige Vorlesungen über die Bestimmung des Gelehrten (BG). Here Fichte incorporates several aspects from GWL and GNR that help to think on those contradictions.

Introduction. Hypovitaminosis D is a global public health problem. It affects children of all ages. Objective. To determine the risk factors of hypovitaminosis D in children. Population and methods. Cross-sectional study of non-supplemented children (n=123), 54 girls, and 69 boys, aged between 6-12 years. The thresholds were defined as adequacy 30 ng/mL, and deficiency 10 ng/mL. Seasons, daily sunshine duration, gender, exogenous Vit. D intakes, phototype, and body mass index (BMI) were analysed. The study was carried out during 12 months (January 2018-January 2019) with samples taken during the four seasons. Results. The median age was 8.16 ±1.82 years. Hypovitaminosis D was noted in 79.6% versus 20.4% adequacy. The average BMI was 16.80 ± 3.29kg/m2 [11.89 -30.70]. Vit. Traditional models to train and teach young players in team sports assume that athletes learn as linear systems. However, an actual methodology called Non-Linear Pedagogy (NLP) accounts for the fact that the players and the team are complex dynamic systems. Experiences in handball under this methodology are scarce; due to this, an observational study has been conducted with a follow-up, idiographic and multidimensional design, in which 14 female school handball players belonging to four different local teams in Santiago, Chile (age = 15.55 + 0.51) agreed to participate in three special handball training sessions with the use of the NLP methodology where three different constraints were used. Descriptive analysis with the Chi-squared test showed a total of 252 observations where most of the variables were dependent on the constraints (p ≤ 0.001). Frequency showed that mainly “Defense in Line of progression” and “Proximal contact” were the most activated variables, followed by “Harassment” and “Deterrence” for all constraints. However, only constraint 2 highly activated two collective motor behaviors, while the rest only did it with individual motor behaviors. It is concluded that the constraints used in training seem to be effective in activating a group of defensive handball motor behaviors, specifically those that are basic for female school handball players.

This paper examines the question of what values might underlie a global regimen of law. It is concerned with the level of culture and learning that could prevail among a future global public. It begins by explaining how law is a central element in the project of globalization, and how legal influence touches on all areas of global order. The paper discusses the two predominant Western traditions of law, Anglophone and Civilian, the legal culture each represents, and the values implicit in their two different conceptions of legality. It reviews certain fundamental elements present in each tradition since their near simultaneous beginnings in the medieval world. It explores the relationship of both legal methods to the realm of public understanding, especially in their two differing versions of the university as a center of learning. In doing so, the paper also examines the contrasting roles of scholar and judge in each legal system. It then looks forward to probable difficulties in any attempt at combining the two traditions of law into a single global regime. The paper concludes by using America as a model to contemplate what values might shape an Anglophone legal culture, applicable to all peoples in all localities around the world. Finally, the paper summarizes the foregoing, and looks toward the possible redefinition of culture and learning in a global Rule of Law.

The article describes the socio-cultural situation in which the individual professionally working on scientific and mathematical problems turns out in politary society (ancient Egypt and Babylon, India and China, medieval Arab-Muslim world, etc.). It focuses on the complex relationship between scientists seeking to uncover the mysteries of nature, and the clergy whose aim is complete control of the process and results of any cognitive activities. Hierocratic estate allows research only to the extent that is necessary for the consolidation of its prerogatives and powers. The conflict of these two cognitive trends largely determines the general character and peculiarities of scientific-cognitive activity in these societies. Existing sacral picture of the world is considered as a firm and perfect one, requiring only minor refinements and specifications. While rituals, committed by clergy, positioned as a necessary condition for the preservation of the natural and social world order. On the contrary, sovereign scientific discourse implies that scientist has a right on free revision of existing views as about the world in general and about specific details of its devices and evolution. The scientist also should not be restricted in finding and applying specific means and methods of cognition of truth. Accordingly, the performance of rituals cannot play a significant role in the picture of the world which is created by scholar’s work. Patterns found in the natural processes are independent from actions committed by various people, including the sacred ceremonies of both ordinary and very senior individuals of spiritual title. Proto-scientific concepts of the universe and particular consequents from them are treated by hierocracyas godless and heretical. In the absence of adequate empirical and theoretical arguments, priests and theologians have to resort in struggle against scholar’s freethinking to force “arguments”. But scientists under favorable conditions can successfully resist this pressure and continue their professional work.

Happiness is one of the main topics that dominates the discourse of ethical philosophy. The concept of happiness began to be discussed from the emergence of philosophy in classical Greece to the present day in both Western and Islamic perspectives. This study aims to analyze the views of scholars in debating the topic of happiness. This study is a descriptive study using a qualitative systematic literature review method. The main source of data collection for this study is by highlighting previous works obtained from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) online databases and it is also supported by data obtained from Google Scholar. The analysis was done based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes (PRISMA). The results of the SLR analysis identified fifteen (15) articles featuring discussions on the topic of happiness among scholars, among them Plato, Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, Maimonides, and Jeremy Bentham representing the West and Ibn Sina, al-Ghazali, al-Farabi, Ibn Miskawayh, HAMKA, al-Attas, and Said Nursi representing Islamic scholars. The findings also highlighted three main elements discussing the topic of happiness, namely the spiritual, intellectual, and material elements. These three elements are not discussed in a balanced way in Western civilization causing confusion in uniting various views, but in Islam, although scholars’ opinions differ, they are however united in the principle of revelation that balances the three elements to explain the topic of true happiness. This study is important from the point of view of understanding the topic of happiness traced from the history of thought of scholars.

The knowledge of the legal maxims is neither the outcome of Muslim scholars, nor the product of their experience. None of the scholars of Islamic jurisprudence chalked out these principles by himself, nor a specific team/board of religious scholars form them by virtue of their knowledge and exalted position. Even the credit does not go to the scholars of a particular area, era or class. Like other Islamic sciences, the legal maxims also originated from Quran and Hadith. Quran & Hadith either directly mention these principles (in certain cases) or it give such formula (in many cases) which enable a scholar to derive these principles. We have a reasonable collection of such principles having its origin in Quran or Hadith, later on known as "Qawa'ed Nassia". Companions of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and their disciples took guidance from these principles & formula. Their follower scholars & judges went further ahead in the same direction and consequently got success in compiling & forming the knowledge of the legal maxims which are known as "Qawa'ed Mustanbata". Scholars of all the four sects of Islamic jurisprudence took active part in the written efforts (of this field). Hence the important origins of these knowledge were compiled. But it is a fact that the relevant scholars of Hanfi school of thought were the torch bears in shaping the principles as a proper / specific discipline. They played leading role from different aspects in constitution of this knowledge. In the given article a scholastic effort has been made to discuss and analyze this role of Hanfi scholars.

There is considerable disagreement among Muslims in how Islam says about many gender issues. One factor that influences the ways in which people understand gender issues in Islam and deal with the associated controversy is the approach they take when reading and interpreting Islamic texts. Some research has been done on the variety of thoughts on Islamic studies, but mapping thoughts comprehensively on gender issues not yet explored. This paper maps the Muslims’ understanding of six contentious gender issues in Islam into three approaches: textualist/conservative, semi-textualist/moderate, and contextualist/progressive approaches. I document the diversity of thought among feminist and non-feminist Muslim intellectuals on gender issues (in the light of their faith) using documentation and in-depth interview techniques. 25 respondents (male and female) from six universities in Yogyakarta were selected in this research. Textualist/conservative and contextualist/progressive scholars show the most strongly contrasting views on gender issues in Islam. Semi-textualist/moderates present their views relatively flexibly: sometimes their views match those of the textualist/conservatives: sometimes they align closely with the contextualist/progressives. Based on their views and the arguments they present, semi-textualist/moderates’ and contextualist/progressives’ views seem close to the stance adopted by many Islamic Feminist. Salah satu faktor berpengaruh dalam pemahaman isu gender pada Islam adalah hal kontroversial dalam pendekatan pembacaan dan penafsiran teks agama. Tulisan ini memetakan pemahaman para feminis tentang enam isu gender dalam Islam di tiga kelompok (1) tekstual – konservatif, (2) semi tektual – moderat, dan (3) kontekstual – progresif. Artikel ini mengambil lapangan di 6 universitas Yogyakarta dengan wawancara lebih dari 25 informan laki – laki dan perempuan baik feminis dan non feminis. Kelompok tektualis dan kelompok kontekstual merupakan dua kelompok yang saling bertentangan dan kelompok semi tekstual lebih pada fleksibel. This research paper aims to present a thorough overview of the Journal of International Women's Studies (JIWS). The Scopus database has been used to study the most prolific writers and frequently cited papers of the JIWS. This article considered 907 papers, which offers a map of the knowledge produced and circulated by the JIWS. It offers insights into publication activities, prominent themes, citation trends, and the state of collaborations among the contributors to the JIWS and the journal's aggregate contributions to the area of Women's Studies. Moreover, by analyzing the correlation of keywords and how they are clustered together, the authors have highlighted maximum relevant topics. They have highlighted the most popular papers in terms of the number of citations. Additionally, the research paper features the past, the present, and the future trends in JIWS through an analysis of the average appearance date of keywords. The study offers a retrospective analysis of the content published in the journal. Over time, the JIWS has seen an increase in publication activity and citations, reflecting its growing presence among Women's Studies and feminist journals. The findings also reveal its relevance and diverse contributions to research in the area of women's studies, gender studies, and feminisms. The primary purpose of the study is to inform potential writers by contributing a variety of indicators to develop papers targeting JIWS, understanding the emerging topics and research areas for publishing their future research in the journal. Introduction: Health care professionals are expected to embrace and enact the scholarly practitioner role. Scholarly practitioners demonstrate a lifelong commitment to excellence in practice through continuous learning, engagement in evidence-informed decision-making, contributions to scholarship, and knowledge translation. However, the specific features and requirements associated with this role are not uniform. The absence of well-defined and delineated conceptualizations of scholarly practice and the scarcity of empirical research on how scholarly practice is operationalized contribute to a lack of a shared understanding of this complex role. Aim: The purpose of this scoping review is to map the breadth and depth of the literature on what is known about scholarly practice in licensed health care professionals. Methods: Arksey and O'Malley's 6-stage scoping review framework will be used to examine the breadth and depth of the literature on the definitions and conceptualizations of the scholar role in health care professionals. We will conduct a comprehensive search from inception to present in MEDLINE (Ovid), EMBASE (Ovid), and CINAHL using scholarly practitioner terms and related synonyms, including a grey literature search. Following a calibration exercise, two independent reviewers will screen retrieved papers for inclusion and extract relevant data. Included papers will: (i) explore, describe, or define scholarly practice, scholar or scholarly practitioner, and/or related concepts in the licensed health care professionals; (ii) be conceptual and/or theoretical in nature; (iii) use quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methodologies; and (iv) be published in English or French. The aim of this study is to examine the use and access of grey literature by Scholars of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and to evaluate the grey literature contents along with general contents in AMU Repository. The study used a quantitative approach using the survey method to collect data by applying the questionnaire as a tool and analyzing the archived resources in AMU repository. Results showed that the Thesis is the highest in number among other archived resources in AMU Repository. Based on the survey, majority of the Scholars opted Theses & Dissertations as the most essential resources for their research activities, whereby they expressed the need of an information system for effective retrieval of grey resources from diverse access points within/outside the campus. It would be easy to write about Paula Gunn Allen as a scholar, but that information is everywhere, from books and interviews to student graduate dissertations. Even with her many accomplishments, such as her defining book The Sacred Hoop and her often humorous and dead-serious book Pocahontas, I love Paula’s poem about Grandmother Spider the most. That’s what Paula was, a weaver of connections between the world, between people, between word and word. From the work that follows, it seems more important to write about her as a human being. Poet, scholar, teacher, writer, her warm heart seems to be, finally, what people love this strong story-woman for the most, at least until her words reach future readers and scholars.I first met Paula when I had written my first book and knew nothing about the world of writing, books, or educated Indian women. Paula took me into her web. Before I knew it I was on a talk show and in over my head. Fortunately, Paula was articulate enough to cover for me. Then I gave a reading at a salon she took me to in New York, a first reading for me, a young writer. First, she took me to her home and fed me eggs and salsa. Hot salsa! How could I not adore her? We shared our growing worlds, relationships, poetry, then also our losses: children, loves, work.She was a real human being, a kind and beloved woman. She, in many ways, represented the meaning of her book, which will be out in January from West End Press, American the Beautiful. I will always think of her as a spider woman, weaving, reweaving, leaving filaments of silk for us to follow.One friend of hers, Charlotte Gullick, was with her before she changed worlds and describes Paula, “I come back to find her eyes closed, but her left hand is in the air, and she’s shaking it as if she holds a rattle. Her lips dance out silent words and I watch for a few minutes before she opens her eyes. . . . I wish I had enough knowledge of her tribal connections to know what kind of rattle would be the right one.

The National School Feeding Program (NSFP) aims complementing the student's feeding to improve his nutritional conditions and his learning capacity, besides educating with good eating habits. This present study intentioned evaluating the nutritional composing adequacy of menus for NSFP and the provisions' acceptability offered at a municipal school in São José do Calçado - ES. It was adopted the direct weighting to obtain the provisions' per capita offered in the mornings during five consecutive days for students cursing from the 1st to the 5th scholar year. The nutritional composing evaluation was held according to what was established by the program, in such a way to provide at least 20% of the daily nutritional necessities for the students. It was used a facial hedonics scale of five points to verify the acceptance on the food served. The average of proteins, iron and zinc of the menu were much higher than the recommended by the program. By contrast, the vitamin A, vitamin C and calcium averages were well below the amounts tabled by NSFP. The acceptance rate on the meals was of 75%. It was concluded that the feeding given at this analyzed school was not appropriate to major nutritional request based by NSFP and the meals' acceptability reported a lower rate compared to the baseline set on Brazilian legislation, what emphasizes an urge for food systematic monitoring - which is offered at school to assure that the served foods become more attractive and may guarantee proper quantities of nutrients to students' growth and evolution. The author, a witness of the last twenty years of Professor Zenon Klemensiewicz’s life and activity, reminds the importance of his person for the period he helped to shape. He went beyond linguistics, and became a separate value of cultural, moral, and national life. He symbolized the model of a Polish patriot and researcher, heir to humanistic traditions, a romanticist and positivist in one. The paper passes down the author’s and the milieu’s memories of the rich and complex personality of the master and the boss, his extraordinary didactic and rhetoric talent, it is an introduction to a personal and academic biography of a typical Polish intellectual determined by two world wars.
