Spread spectrum technology has been widely employed for positioning and communicating with autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), but conventional spread spectrum sequences lack confidentiality and reliability in UWA channel. Considering the limitations of conventional sequences and the characteristics of underwater acoustic (UWA) channel, a composite chaotic orthogonal sequence (CCOS) based on the UWA channel is proposed. The confidentiality of the CCOS is superior to that of the m‐sequence, while the autocorrelation performance of the CCOS is superior to that of the orthogonal sequence. Moreover, the CCOS can compensate for the imbalance of logistic chaotic sequence when assigned certain initial values. Acquisition is a crucial component of accessing the spread spectrum signal; therefore, the acquisition performance indicates the applicability of the CCOS. The source–target model is established to simulate communication with an underwater moving target. To simulate the acquisition process, a parallel algorithm based on fast Fourier transform is adopted, and the entire simulation process is completed based on the BELLHOP ray acoustic model. Through data processing, the Doppler shift error is less than half of the frequency‐search element. This study proposes a two-cable network model, which includes a cross-tie and two concentrated masses installed at the connection points of cross-tie and cable. The characteristic equation of such a cable network system is formulated via the complex modal analysis method. Then, dynamics of a twin-cable network is discussed in details, and the effect of concentrated mass on the system modal frequencies, damping and mode shapes is investigated. Furthermore, a general two-cable network system is analyzed. Results show that the concentrated mass always reduces the modal frequency, as it causes an increase in the modal mass of the system. When installing a concentrated mass in a twin-cable network, the difference of vibration modes between the cables can be increased in the in-phase modes, thereby achieving the damping effect of the damping type cross-tie on these modes. For a twin-cable network with a viscous damper, a small concentrated mass can significantly increase the modal damping of the in-phase modes as long as the damping coefficient of the damper is properly set. Meanwhile, when there is a two-cable network with unequal length cables, the presence of concentrated masses may reduce differences in vibration modes between cables, thus leading to decreased damping of some modes. Background: Enzymes play an irreplaceable and important role in maintaining the lives of living organisms. The Enzyme Commission (EC) number of an enzyme indicates its essential functions. Correct identification of the first digit (family class) of the EC number for a given enzyme is a hot topic in the past twenty years. Several previous methods adopted functional domain composition to represent enzymes. However, it would lead to dimension disaster, thereby reducing the efficiency of the methods. On the other hand, most previous methods can only deal with enzymes belonging to one family class. In fact, several enzymes belong to two or more family classes. Results: In this study, a fast and efficient multi-label classifier, named PredictEFC, was designed. To construct this classifier, a novel feature extraction scheme was designed for processing functional domain information of enzymes, which counting the distribution of each functional domain entry across seven family classes in the training dataset. Based on this scheme, each training or test enzyme was encoded into a 7-dimenion vector by fusing its functional domain information and above statistical results. Random k-labelsets (RAKEL) was adopted to build the classifier, where random forest was selected as the base classification algorithm. The two tenfold cross-validation results on the training dataset shown that the accuracy of PredictEFC can reach 0.8493 and 0.8370. The independent test on two datasets indicated the accuracy values of 0.9118 and 0.8777. Conclusion: The performance of PredictEFC was slightly lower than the classifier directly using functional domain composition. However, its efficiency was sharply improved. The running time was less than one-tenth of the time of the classifier directly using functional domain composition. In additional, the utility of PredictEFC was superior to the classifiers using traditional dimensionality reduction methods and some previous methods, and this classifier can be transplanted for predicting enzyme family classes of other species. In this paper, we delve into the challenge of identifying an unknown source in a space-time fractional diffusion-wave equation. Through an analysis of the exact solution, it becomes evident that the problem is ill-posed. To address this, we employ both the Tikhonov regularization method and the Quasi-boundary regularization method, aiming to restore the stability of the solution. By adhering to both a priori and a posteriori regularization parameter choice rules, we derive error estimates that quantify the discrepancies between the regularization solutions and the exact solution. Tea leaf-color mutants have attracted increasing attention due to their accumulation of quality-related biochemical components. However, there is limited understanding of the molecular mechanisms behind leaf-color bud mutation in tea plants. In this study, a chlorina tea shoot (HY) and a green tea shoot (LY) from the same tea plant were investigated using transcriptome and biochemical analyses. The results showed that the chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and total chlorophyll contents in the HY were significantly lower than the LY's, which might have been caused by the activation of several genes related to chlorophyll degradation, such as SGR and CLH. The down-regulation of the CHS, DFR, and ANS involved in flavonoid biosynthesis might result in the reduction in catechins, and the up-regulated GDHA and GS2 might bring about the accumulation of glutamate in HY. RT-qPCR assays of nine DEGs confirmed the RNA-seq results. Backgrounds: Insertion of Mg2+ into protoporphyrin IX (PPIX) to produce magnesium-protoporphyrin IX (Mg-PPIX) was the first step toward chlorophyll biosynthesis, which not only imparts plants green pigmentation but underpins photosynthesis. Plants that blocked the conversion of PPIX to Mg-PPIX displayed yellowish or albino-lethal phenotypes. However, the lack of systematic study of the detection method and the metabolic difference between species have caused the research on chloroplast retrograde signaling controversial for a long time. Results: An advanced and sensitive UPLC-MS/MS strategy for determining PPIX and Mg-PPIX was established in two metabolic different plants, Arabidopsis thaliana (Columbia-0) and Camellia sinensis var. sinensis. Two metabolites could be extracted by 80% acetone (v/v) and 20% 0.1 M NH4OH (v/v) without hexane washing. Since the Mg-PPIX could be substantially de-metalized into PPIX in acidic conditions, analysis was carried out by UPLC-MS/MS with 0.1% ammonia (v/v) and 0.1% ammonium acetonitrile (v/v) as mobile phases using negative ion multiple reaction monitoring modes. Interestingly, it could be easier to monitor these two compounds in dehydrated samples rather than in fresh samples. Validation was performed in spiked samples and mean recoveries ranged from 70.5 to 916%, and the intra-day and inter-day variations were less than 7.5 and 10.9%, respectively. The limit of detection was 0.01 mg·kg− 1 and the limit of quantification was 0.05 mg·kg− 1. The contents of PPIX (1.67 ± 0.12 mg·kg− 1) and Mg-PPIX (3.37 ± 0.10 mg·kg− 1) in tea were significantly higher than in Arabidopsis (PPIX: 0.05 ± 0.02 mg·kg− 1; Mg-PPIX: 0.08 ± 0.01 mg·kg− 1) and they were only detected in the leaf. Conclusions: Our study establishes a universal and reliable method for determining PPIX and Mg-PPIX in two plants using UPLC-MS/MS. The coal-seam fire is one of the most significant disasters in the coal mining industry in China, affecting the safety of coal production in China. The working-position risk in coal mining has an important impact on the risk of fire occurrence, and thus it would be worthwhile to analyze working-position risks so as to effectively prevent and control coal-seam fires. Based on the kernel density estimation (KDE), this research puts forward an innovative calculation-model and assessment method of the superposition risk of the working position on coal-seam fire accidents. This research aims to evaluate the priority of risk management of working positions in coal-seam fire accidents. In order to achieve this research aim and objectives, this research carried out a statistical analysis of 100 classic cases of coal-seam fire accidents from 2000 to 2022, using the accident-tree-structure importance analysis method. This research contributed to the evaluation of the frequency and severity of various risk factors leading to fire accidents, and the development of the value at risk (VaR) of various risk factors in the coal-seam fire accidents. Integrating all the risk factors involved in each position and their risk values, and building a position-risk calculation model was carried out. In addition, in accordance with the kernel density estimation (KDE), a post-superposition risk model was established. Moreover, ArcGIS software was used to obtain the superimposed risk of posts and build a risk-distribution map. Based on the possibility of post-risk occurrence and the severity of the consequences, a risk-assessment matrix was developed, a post-risk grading standard was established, and risk levels of the working position were divided up in this research. Results indicated that (1) before risk superposition, working-position risks and risk levels are densely distributed, and nearly 80% of risk levels of the working position are focused on Level II and III, without Level I. (2) After risk superposition, the post-risk is affected by the surrounding post-risk, and the risk- and level-distribution is more hierarchical; the number of Level I risks in working positions increased to 12, which were mainly distributed among the comprehensive mining team, comprehensive excavation team and ventilation team, which accords more with the objective and actual production-conditions. The risk-distribution map directly showed that the post-fire risk at the mining face and shaft is higher, a result which will take on a significant guiding role in the effective control and prevention of risk in coal-seam fires in the future. Impoverished housing environments are thought to prevent motivated behaviors and may result in frustration. We first aimed to investigate an effective physical enrichment protocol to improve dairy calves' welfare and initially determine their use of various items. Thereafter, we aimed to determine dairy calves' preference for and ways of interacting with various items, and whether this was influenced by social housing. In experiment 1, at 21 ± 3 d of age, 27 individually housed calves were assigned alternately into 1 of 3 treatments: control (CON, no additional items), rotating enrichment (RE, one item each week on a rotating presentation schedule), and fixed enrichment (FE, 4 types of item at the same time). The items were stationary brushes, ropes, springs, nets filled with strawberry-scented hay, and dry teats. Calves' behaviors were observed from 4 to 7 wk of age using focal observations after feeding, followed by instantaneous scan sampling. Their behavioral responses to a novel object were assessed at 43 ± 1 d of age. In the instantaneous scans, calves in FE tended to interact with items more often than calves in RE. Calves in RE and FE expressed less non-nutritive oral behavior than those in CON. Latency to touch novel objects did not differ significantly between treatments. Calves in RE and FE interacted with nets filled with strawberry-scented hay more often than with other items in instantaneous scans. In experiment 2, 24 calves were assigned alternately into 8 individual pens and 8 pair pens at 2 d of age. All pens were provided with a stationary brush, plastic chain, net filled with strawberry-scented hay, and dry teat. Calves' behaviors were collected from 2 to 5 wk of age using instantaneous scan sampling. Calves interacted with nets filled with strawberry-scented hay more often than with other items. Pair housing reduced calves' interactions with items compared with individual housing. Individually and pair-housed calves' frequencies of overall interaction with items varied with time of day, with frequencies increasing to peaks at 0700, 1500, and 1900 h. Calves showed scratching, sniffing, sucking, butting, and hay intake toward nets filled with strawberry-scented hay and showed the first 3 behaviors toward stationary brushes, plastic chains, and dry teats. In conclusion, dairy calves are likely to prefer a fixed multi-item enrichment presentation schedule over a rotating schedule with a single enrichment item presented at one time. For the fixed multi-item enrichment presentation schedule, items were used more in individual pens than in pair pens, and a diurnal pattern was observed for use of the items. Predicting neurological outcomes after cardiac arrest remains a major issue. This study aimed to identify novel biomarkers capable of predicting neurological prognosis after cardiac arrest. Expression profiles of GSE29540 and GSE92696 were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to obtain differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between high and low brain performance category (CPC) scoring subgroups. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was used to screen key gene modules and crossover genes in these datasets. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network of crossover genes was constructed from the STRING database. Based on the PPI network, the most important hub genes were identified by the cytoHubba plugin of Cytoscape software. Eight hub genes (RPL27, EEF1B2, PFDN5, RBX1, PSMD14, HINT1, SNRPD2, and RPL26) were finally screened and validated, which were downregulated in the group with poor neurological prognosis. In addition, GSEA identified critical pathways associated with these genes. Finally, a Pearson correlation analysis showed that the mRNA expression of hub genes EEF1B2, PSMD14, RPFDN5, RBX1, and SNRPD2 were significantly and positively correlated with NDS scores in rats. Absolute time synchronization is a basic issue in wireless communication. With the advent of 5G, many emerging vertical industry applications have put forward demands for timing accuracy over air interface. High Precision Timing method over Air Interface based on PHY Layer Signals (TAP) is proposed for mobile networks. It is designed to provide microsecond level timing accuracy at a relatively low cost compared to the existing timing methods, such as GNSS, NTP, PTP, etc. The purpose of this paper is to comprehensively improve TAP, including timing accuracy, stability and compatibility, so as to promote its practical application. This paper proposes improvements to TAP from four aspects: timing algorithm, timing pilot signal, terminal timing process and timing parameters determination. We improve the TAP’s deficiencies in delay estimation, delay compensation accuracy and real-time matching of timing information. We implement the workflow of TAPv2 for UE based on FPGA. Finally, we settle the problem of TAP parameters determination by applying a DQN method. The simulations and tests not only show that the DQN model can effectively determine the TAP parameters, but also show TAPv2 can achieve higher accuracy and stability than TAP in multiple scenarios based on the interaction with baseband. During the recovery of spent lithium-ion batteries, the stripping process plays a critical role in determining the extent of cathode active materials (CAMs) recovery. However, traditional physical methods, characterized by an impact-dominant force, can only pulverize both CAMs and aluminum (Al) foil together, resulting in low stripping efficiency and high impurity content. In this study, a shear-dominant stripping method is proposed to control the stress exerted on the cathode. The stress calculation result shows that the shear-dominant force can apply stress levels higher than the ultimate tensile stress of the CAMs coating but lower than that of the Al foil. Contrasting different physical methods, the vertical agitating mill processing with shear-dominant force achieved a remarkable stripping efficiency and low impurity content. Then, the impeller structure in the mill was redesigned and optimized using the discrete element method (DEM). Results show that the blade ribbon impeller promotes full contact between the particles while enhancing shear actions significantly. Using the designed impeller structure, the stripping efficiency and purity of the CAMs reached 98.98% and 99.92%, respectively. This method presents a notable advantage over traditional physical methods, positioning it as a promising and viable technology for industrial applications in spent LIBs recovery. • The chiral afterglow is achieved by self-confining isolated chiral chromophores. • Advanced displays and encryptions are made using the chiral afterglow materials. • The work provides a facile way for developing chiral afterglow materials. Circularly polarized organic afterglow (CPOA) materials showing ultralong lifetime and chiral emission features have received widespread attention. However, generating CPOA emission remains a formidable challenge primarily due to the synergetic suppression non-radiative decay and chirality incorporation of triplet excitons. Herein, we propose a strategy to enable CPOA by covalently self-confining isolated chiral chromophores into the polymer matrix with rigidity and strong intermolecular interactions to effectively inhibit the non-radiative decay of chiral triplet excitons. The CPOA polymers exhibiting dual fluorescence and afterglow emission with a maximum luminescence dissymmetry factor of 1.06 × 10-2 and ultralong lifetime of up to 1.08 s have been achieved by crosslinking binaphthol derivatives into rigid self-host of polyacrylamide. Leveraging the superiority of afterglow and chiral attributes of CPOA polymers, advanced display and encryption demonstrations have been fabricated. The reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated by photoinduced molecular oxygen (O 2) activation has attracted great attention in environmental remediation and pollution control. Herein, we establish a facile sulfur doping strategy that promotes the activation of molecular oxygen over BiOCl for rapid and continuous degradation of organic pollutants. In this work, we demonstrate that the significantly enhanced built-in electric field (BIEF) induced by the heterogeneous introduction of S atoms not only multiplies the electron concentration in the BiOCl matrix, but also accelerates the rapid separation/transfer of charge carriers and inhibits recombination. Driven by this, the exciton behavior in the BOC undergoes a transformation. The electrons generated through exciton dissociation activate the adsorbed O 2 on the surface into superoxide radicals (•O 2 –). Benefited from the superior O 2 activation efficiency, the degradation rate constant of ciprofloxacin (CIP) the fabricated S-doped BiOCl increased by 8.8 times, under visible light. This work proposes a strategy to promote the photocatalytic O 2 activation via tuning BIEF and manipulating excitonic effects, which affords new perspective for understanding the reaction mechanisms related to charge transfer in photocatalytic systems. Efficiently monitoring the condition of civil infrastructure requires automating the structural condition assessment in visual inspection. This paper proposes an Attention-Enhanced Co-Interactive Fusion Network (AECIF-Net) for automatic structural condition assessment in visual bridge inspection. AECIF-Net can simultaneously parse structural elements and segment surface defects on the elements in inspection images. It integrates two task-specific relearning subnets to extract task-specific features from an overall feature embedding. A co-interactive feature fusion module further captures the spatial correlation and facilitates information sharing between tasks. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed AECIF-Net outperforms the current state-of-the-art approaches, achieving promising performance with 92.11% mIoU for element segmentation and 87.16% mIoU for corrosion segmentation on the test set of the new benchmark dataset Steel Bridge Condition Inspection Visual (SBCIV). Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is one of the most common and intractable neurological disorders in adults. Dysfunctional PKA signaling is causally linked to the TLE. However, the mechanism underlying PKA involves in epileptogenesis is still poorly understood. In the present study, we found the autophosphorylation level at serine 114 site (serine 112 site in mice) of PKA-RIIβ subunit was robustly decreased in the epileptic foci obtained from both surgical specimens of TLE patients and seizure model mice. The p-RIIβ level was negatively correlated with the activities of PKA. Notably, by using a P-site mutant that cannot be autophosphorylated and thus results in the released catalytic subunit to exert persistent phosphorylation, an increase in PKA activities through transduction with AAV-RIIβ-S112A in hippocampal DG granule cells decreased mIPSC frequency but not mEPSC, enhanced neuronal intrinsic excitability and seizure susceptibility. In contrast, a reduction of PKA activities by RIIβ knockout led to an increased mIPSC frequency, a reduction in neuronal excitability, and mice less prone to experimental seizure onset. Collectively, our data demonstrated that the autophosphorylation of RIIβ subunit plays a critical role in controlling neuronal and network excitabilities by regulating the activities of PKA, providing a potential therapeutic target for TLE. Background: Adolescence and young adulthood are considered the peak age for the emergence of many psychiatric disorders, in particular major depressive disorder (MDD). Previous research has shown substantial heritability for MDD. In addition, the brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) gene is known to be associated with MDD. However, there has been no study conducting targeted sequencing of the BDNF gene in young MDD patients so far. Method: To examine whether the BDNF gene is associated with the occurrence of MDD in young patients, we used targeted sequencing to detect the BDNF gene variants in 259 young Chinese Han people (105 MDD patients and 154 healthy subjects). Results: The BDNF variant rs4030470 was associated with MDD in young Chinese Han people (uncorrected p = 0.046), but this was no longer significant after applying FDR correction (p = 0.552, after FDR correction). We did not find any significant differences in genotype or haplotype frequencies between the case and control groups, and furthermore discovered no rare mutation variants any of the 259 subjects. To locate the fault location accurately and solve the problem quickly is the key to improve the power supply capacity of power grid. This paper presents a fault location method based on SVM fault branch selection algorithm and similarity matching. Firstly, an SVM-based fault branch filter classifier was constructed based on the positive sequence component feature matrix data of each monitoring point, which can accurately select the branch where the current fault is located. Then, based on the positive sequence voltage distribution characteristics, the Euclidean distance and Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) are used to establish the similarity objective function of fault location. And then, the fault is accurately located by the objective function. Finally, the proposed method is validated by using an IEEE-14 node network. Proton irradiation induced Nb redistribution in Zr-xNb alloys (x = 0.4, 0.5, 1.0 wt%) has been investigated using scanning transmission electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (STEM/EDS). Zr-xNb alloys are mainly composed of Zr matrix, native Zr–Nb–Fe phases, and β-Nb precipitates. After 2 MeV proton irradiation at 350 °C, a decrease of Nb content in native precipitates, as well as irradiation-induced precipitation of Nb-rich platelets (135 ± 69 nm long and 27 ± 12 nm wide) were found. Nb-rich platelets and Zr matrix form the Burgers orientation relationship, [ 1 1 ¯ 1 ]//[ 2 1 ¯ 1 ¯ 0 ] and (011)//(0002). The platelets were found to be mostly coherent with the matrix with a few dislocations near the ends of the precipitate. The coherent strain field has been measured in the matrix and platelets by the 4D-STEM technique. The growth of Nb-rich platelets is mainly driven by coherency and dislocation-induced strain fields. Irradiation may both enhance the diffusion and induce segregation of interstitial Nb to the ends of the irradiation induced platelets, further facilitating their growth. Latent heat thermal energy storage unit alleviates the mismatch between energy supply and demand. However, the sole melting temperature of a phase change material in a single-layer heat storage unit does not adapt well to the environment. Therefore, the mechanisms associated with the better environmental adaptability of a multiple-layer heat storage unit are explored in this study based on energy and exergy evaluations via comparison with single-layer units. An innovative methodology is proposed to discuss transient thermal energy and exergy, and exergy distribution of these heat storage units in different seasons. Results show that the multiple-layer units address the limitations of single-layer units by exhibiting excellent heat storage capacity and quality, as well as uniform melting and exergy distribution. Compared with the single-layer unit with a melting temperature of 49 °C, the multiple-layer unit exhibits a 56.64% higher energy in the winter. Moreover, the exergy is 57.14% higher than that of the single-layer unit with a melting temperature of 33 °C in the summer. Abstract Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in various life processes. However, the lncRNA expression and potential functions in porcine endemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) infection and host defense are still poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the lncRNA expression profiles during PEDV infection in intestinal porcine epithelial cell-jejunum 2 (IPEC-J2) cell lines by next-generation sequencing and identified 6188 novel lncRNAs. The functional annotation analysis revealed that these lncRNAs might be associated with many immunity-related genes. We next selected candidate lncRNAs related to immune response pathways and further identified their differential expression in PEDV-infected IPEC-J2 cells and newborn piglets. Our results demonstrated that PEDV infection regulated lncRNA expression patterns in both the IPEC-J2 cell line and piglet ileum. These findings provide the first large-scale survey of lncRNAs associated with PEDV infection, specifically the lncRNAs responsible for the activation of the immune system within the ileum. Polyborosilazane synthesized from trichlorosilane (SiHCl 3 ), boron trichloride (BCl 3 ) and methylamine (MeNH 2 ) is highly sensitive to moisture for hydrolysis of -NHMe unites and is easy to cross-link for dehydrogenation of Si-H, N-H, which affected the industrial scale production of SiBNC ceramic fibers. In this paper,a new nitrogen source(n-propylamine, C 3 H 7 NH 2 ) was used instead of MeNH 2 to synthesis polyborosilazane precursor. The influences of nitrogen sources on the structures and properties of SiBNC ceramic fiber precursors were investigated. As compared to SiHCl 3 /BCl 3 /CH 3 NH 2 system, polyborosilazane precursor synthesized from the SiHCl 3 /BCl 3 /C 3 H 7 NH 2 system exhibited lower crosslink density, lower sensitivity to moisture and good melt spinnability, and the obtained ceramic fibers showed higher tensile strength (1.03 GPa, an increase of about 37.3%). A novel processable and high yield polyborosilazane (PBSZ) precursor for SiBNC ceramic fibers was synthesized via boron trichloride (BCl 3 ), co-polymerization of trichlorosilane (SiHCl 3 ) and methylamine (MeNH 2 ), followed by trans-amination with NH 3 . The synthesized PBSZ precursor was characterized and the results showed that the polymeric precursor exhibited good melt–processability and green fibers with a diameter of 45 µm could be easily obtained by melt spinning. The green fibers were subsequently pyrolyzed at 1200 °C in nitrogen atmospheres to provide SiBNC ceramic fibers with a cylindrical hollow structure, ca.32 µm in diameter and 720 MPa in tensile strength. Novel three dimensional (3D) porous carbon nanosheets with few layers are successfully prepared using intrinsically porous cellulose as carbon matrix only by means of calcination and KOH activation. Further, the N-doped 3D carbon nanosheets show high density of pyridinic N and extremely high specific surface area (1756 m 2 g −1 ). As oxygen reduction catalyst, they possess an outperformed onset (E 0 = −0.03 V) and half-wave (E 1/2 = −0.17 V) potential compared with the platinum (Pt) electrocatalyst (E 0 = −0.05 V, E 1/2 = −0.2 V) in an alkaline system. In addition, excellent electrochemical stability as well as improved CO poisoning resistance and suppressed methanol crossover relative to Pt is also obtained. In an acid system, the catalyst also exhibits good activity and higher durability than Pt/C. Significantly, when used as a catalyst of the air electrode for Zn–air batteries, it demonstrates a higher peak power density of 208 mW cm −2 and a voltage plateau at the controlled discharge current density compared to the commercial Pt/C electrode. This simple and scalable approach provides a direct route to synthesize low cost and highly efficient electrocatalysts from biomass without addition of extra metal catalysts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Over 38 million people worldwide are living with HIV/AIDS, and more than half of them are affected by HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). Such disorders are characterized by chronic neuroinflammation, neurotoxicity, and central nervous system deterioration, which lead to short- or long-term memory loss, cognitive impairment, and motor skill deficits that may show gender disparities. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Our previous study suggested that HIV-1 infection and viral protein R (Vpr) upregulate the SUR1-TRPM4 channel associated with neuroinflammation, which may contribute to HAND. The present study aimed to explore this relationship in a mouse model of HAND. This study employed the HIV transgenic Tg26 mouse model, comparing Tg26 mice with wildtype mice in various cognitive behavioral and memory tests, including locomotor activity tests, recognition memory tests, and spatial learning and memory tests. The study found that Tg26 mice exhibited impaired cognitive skills and reduced learning abilities compared to wildtype mice, particularly in spatial memory. Interestingly, male Tg26 mice displayed significant differences in spatial memory losses (p < 0.001), while no significant differences were identified in female mice. Consistent with our early results, SUR1-TRPM4 channels were upregulated in Tg26 mice along with glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and aquaporin 4 (AQP4), consistent with reactive astrocytosis and neuroinflammation. Corresponding reductions in neurosynaptic responses, as indicated by downregulation of Synapsin-1 (SYN1) and Synaptophysin (SYP), suggested synaptopathy as a possible mechanism underlying cognitive and motor skill deficits. In conclusion, our study suggests a possible relationship between SUR1-TRPM4-mediated neuroinflammation and synaptopathy with impairments of learning and memory in mice with HAND. • A framework for predicting seismic responses based on limited building information is proposed. • A dataset of seismic responses corresponding to 162 typical RC frames of low-medium rise and 200 diverse ground motions is built. • A CNN-based prediction model (call StruNet here) is established for regular RC frame structures based on the dataset. • StruNet maps the limited building information and ground motion time histories into seismic responses (PFA and IDR) of each floor. • StruNet shows sufficient accuracy and high computational efficiency in predicting seismic responses for four actual cases. Building portfolio is the important urban engineering system, and the seismic resilience assessment of a city needs the quick and accurate prediction of the seismic responses of existed buildings. However, many existed buildings generally possess the problem that the design information materials are incomplete or completely lost. The major challenge in the seismic resilience assessment of building portfolio is how to predict the seismic responses of buildings quickly and accurately just using limited building information. This manuscript aims to develop a method for the seismic response prediction of the existed reinforced concrete (RC) frame buildings just using limited building information. A total of 162 typical RC frame buildings of low to medium rise are designed, and the inter-story drift (IDR) as well as peak floor acceleration (PFA) of each floor in each building are computed for 200 ground motions with nonlinear time history analysis (NLTHA) method. A convolutional neural network (CNN) is developed with ground motion records and five easy-getting building parameters as inputs. The outputs are IDR and PFA of each floor for the given building. Considering the physical means of an input parameter—number of stories, the modified loss function and modified evaluation function are proposed. The developed network is trained with the computed dataset and the modified loss function, and the trained model (referred to StruNet) can take the characteristics of ground motions and structures into consideration together comparing to previous studies. The proposed model is verified through four cases (i.e., 4 actual buildings with different construction time, occupancy types, and plane layouts), which are independent of the deep learning dataset. When setting up an underwater acoustic sensor network (UASN), node deployment is the first and foremost task, upon which many fundamental network services, such as network topology control, routing, and boundary detection, will be built. While node deployment in 2-D terrestrial wireless sensor networks has been extensively studied, little attention has been received by their 3-D counterparts. This paper aims at analyzing the impacts of node deployment strategies on localization performances in a 3-D environment. More specifically, the simulations conducted in this paper reveal that the regular tetrahedron deployment scheme outperforms the random deployment scheme and the cube deployment scheme in terms of reducing localization error and increasing localization ratio while maintaining the average number of neighboring anchor nodes and network connectivity. Given the fact that random deployment is the primary choice for most of practical applications to date, our results are expected to shed some light on the design of UASNs in the near future. Herein, a multifunctional magnetic β-cyclodextrin/graphitic carbon nitride catalyst (Fe 3 O 4 @β-CD/g-C 3 N 4) was fabricated for PCBs degradation in wastewater. The catalysts were investigated using various characterization methods including X-ray diffractometry, field emission scanning electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy et al. As-synthesized Fe 3 O 4 @β-CD/g-C 3 N 4 displayed the superior catalytic activity, and the degradation efficiency of six PCBs was 77%–98% at 55 min, with pseudo-first order reaction rate constants were in the range of 0.027–0.065 min−1. The super synergy of photodegradation and heterogeneous Fenton oxidation was 2.1–4.6 times more efficient than that photodegradation or heterogeneous Fenton oxidation alone. Fe 3 O 4 @β-CD/g-C 3 N 4 could be reused for at least 6 cycles without significant deterioration to its catalytic activity. Several reaction intermediates were identified using GC-MS/MS. The products of the last stage of the reaction were alkanes, aldehyde, ketone and ester, which were formed via ring opening, dechlorinating and isomerization reactions. For PCBs degradation, •OH played a major role, •O 2 − played a secondary role, 1O 2 , h± and e− played minor roles based on reactive species trapping experiments. The catalytic performance of the Fe 3 O 4 @β-CD/g-C 3 N 4 − H 2 O 2 − visible light system towards degradation of PCBs in river water and municipal wastewater was 89–100% and 69–92%, respectively, which means the Fe 3 O 4 @β-CD/g-C 3 N 4 has great potential for environmental remediation. HS is considered as the main gas pollutant from livestock farm and activated carbon (AC) is widely used as adsorbent for HS. This paper focuses on the influence of modification conditions and operation conditions on the HS adsorption performance on AC samples. The HS adsorption performance on modified AC (MAC) samples by single and combinatory method has been investigated. It is concluded that the MAC by combinatory method of high-pressure hydrothermal method followed by alkaline solution impregnation method could promote the HS adsorption performance remarkably. The HS adsorption performance differs with different operation conditions. Meanwhile the samples of fresh AC and exhausted AC have been characterized using BET, FTIR, TPD and Boehm titration method. Once a train breaks down on a busy railway line, it will affect the whole traffic network. However, when a rescue locomotive is hooked up to the broken train for towing it to the next station, it is common that coupling dislocation occurs, which results in damages to couplers and the driver's cab. To ensure the safety of the trains during the coupling, it becomes crucial to determine whether they can be linked safely and automatically under different line conditions. In this paper, position and pose of the rescue locomotive and the broken train on the line are calculated by geometric analytical calculation method, which determines the position relation of their couplers. Then a so-called "coupling characteristic triangle" was proposed to determine whether trains can be safely and automatically linked on the railway line. The triangles are constructed by the peak points of the couplers head of the front vehicle and the rear one and border lines of secure coupling area on the couplers. By judging the shape of the triangle, it can directly judge whether their couplers can be connected successfully. The method has been applied to check the safety of the trains during coupling on the Nanchang urban railway Line 4. The results show that the maximum swing angle of the coupler reaches 17.3957° in the straight–curve section with a radius of 325 m. At this time, coupling is most difficult, and trains need to be connected manually through the tractor; all the calculation results are verified in the actual line. By comparing different calculation methods for judging coupling safety, it is shown that the method proposed in this paper is accurate, efficient, and users can judge coupling safety more intuitively. A magnetic-to-thermal energy conversion, derived from the continuous modulation of intrinsic exchange energy, is conceived and studied by performing Monte Carlo simulations. On the basis of thermodynamics and Weiss's molecular field theories, we modified the Maxwell formula, where the magnetic entropy change (∆SM) is calculated by integrating the temperature derivative of magnetization under a continuously increasing exchange interaction, rather than an external magnetic field, from zero to a given value. For the conventional ∆SM induced through increasing magnetic field, the ∆SM maximum value is enhanced with increasing magnetic field, while the ∆SM peak temperature is weakly influenced by the magnetic field. On the contrary, the ∆SM induced by changing the exchange interaction is proportional to the exchange interaction while suppressed by a magnetic field. Another feature is that the relative cooling power calculated from the ∆SM induced by changing the exchange interaction is fully independent of the magnetic field perspective for obtaining the magnetically stabilized self-converted refrigerants. The controlled variation of exchange interaction could be realized by partial substitution or the application of hydrostatic pressure to lower the cost of magnetic energy at no expense of magnetocaloric response, which opens an avenue to develop the practical and energy-saving devices of conversion from magnetic energy to thermal energy, highly extending the material species of the magnetocaloric effect. The highly unique zigzag-shaped stem phenotype in tea plants boasts significant ornamental value and is exceptionally rare. To investigate the genetic mechanism behind this trait, we developed BC1 artificial hybrid populations. Our genetic analysis revealed the zigzag-shaped trait as a qualitative trait. Utilizing whole-genome resequencing, we constructed a high-density genetic map from the BC1 population, incorporating 5,250 SNP markers across 15 linkage groups, covering 3,328.51 cM with an average marker interval distance of 0.68 cM. A quantitative trait locus (QTL) for the zigzag-shaped trait was identified on chromosome 4, within a 61.2 to 97.2 Mb range, accounting for a phenotypic variation explained (PVE) value of 13.62%. Within this QTL, six candidate genes were pinpointed. To better understand their roles, we analyzed gene expression in various tissues and individuals with erect and zigzag-shaped stems. The results implicated CsXTH (CSS0035625) and CsCIPK14 (CSS0044366) as potential key contributors to the zigzag-shaped stem formation. Purpose: Uric acid (UA) is thought to exert neuroprotective roles. The purpose of this study was to examine the association of serum UA with suicide attempts (SA) in adolescents and young adults with major depressive disorder (MDD). Patients and Methods: We retrospectively recruited  533 participants with MDD aged 13 to 25 years, of which 168 had a history of SA in the past three months and 365 did not have a history of SA. Serum UA levels were measured using the uricase-peroxidase coupling method. In addition to overall serum UA level comparison in MDD individuals with and without SA, a stratified analysis by biological sex was carried out. Results: Compared to MDD individuals without a history of SA, serum UA levels were significantly lower in MDD individuals with SA (P < 0.001). Female MDD, but not male MDD individuals, with SA exhibited lower levels of UA than those without SA (P < 0.01). Importantly, serum UA remained significantly associated with SA in MDD individuals (OR = 0.996, 95% CI: 0.993∼ 0.999, P < 0.01) when controlling for possible confounding variables. Conclusion: This research identifies a relationship between serum UA levels and SA in adolescents and young adults with MDD. Accurate detection and classification of power quality (PQ) disturbances is an essential prerequisite for PQ mitigation. To address this issue, a new PQ assessment framework based on modified empirical wavelet transform (MEWT) and light gradient boosting machine (LightGBM) is proposed here. First, the frequency estimation mechanism and band segmentation rule of empirical wavelet transform (EWT) is modified, which makes EWT suitable for analysing complex PQ signals. Second, based on the PQ disturbance analysis results of MEWT, 8 characteristic curves are defined and statistical features are extracted in both the time and frequency domain. Third, binary relevance‐based LightGBM (BR‐LightGBM) is designed for the multilabel classification of massive PQ events. Considering the impact of input features and model structure, feature selection and hyper parameter optimization are conducted for achieving better classification performance. Finally, extensive experiments based on synthetic data and two groups of measured data show the effectiveness of the proposed method on 48 types of complex PQ disturbances. Compared with other algorithms for multiple PQ signals, the proposed method is fast for computation and performs better in classification accuracy and robustness, which is a prospective alternative for the PQ monitoring system. In this study, a phase inversion approach was employed to fabricate four different thicknesses (20 μm to 100 μm) of polyethersulfone (PES) porous films with visible holes (1 hole/cm2) on the surface, applied as interleaves to improve the interlaminar fracture toughness of carbon fiber/epoxy composite laminates prepared by vacuum assistant resin infusion process (VARI). The film could dissolve into the epoxy resin which as clearly evident by the optical microscopy under a controlled condition. It was noted that the thickness of the resin-rich layer and the distribution of PES microspheres in the interlaminar layer depended on the thickness of the PES porous film. Also, mode I and mode II fracture toughness, interlaminar shear strength (ILSS), flexural properties as well as tensile properties of the CF/EP composites had all been characterized and analyzed in detail and in order. The results demonstrated that mode I and mode II fracture energies at the optimal interleaved laminates for the toughened system were increased by 61.5% and 55.1% compared to the composites without interleaves, respectively. Besides, PES porous film interleaved laminates displayed an increase of 32% for the interlaminar shear strength and no significant changes in the flexural and tensile properties. It was observed that the films induced toughening via two mechanisms: i) cohesive failure in a thicker resin region and ii) crack deflection and microcrack caused by PES microspheres, illustrated in the microstructure analysis of the failure surfaces and the observations of the crack propagation path. Recent breakthroughs in cancer immunotherapy have led to curative efficacy and significantly prolonged survival in a subset of patients of multiple cancer types; and immunotherapy has become the newest pillar of cancer treatment in addition to surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and precision targeted therapies. In the metastatic disease setting, responses to immunotherapy are heterogeneous depending on the metastatic organ sites. The tissue-specific immuno-biology in the tumor microenvironments (TMEs) contributes to the differential therapeutic responses. Herein, we review the impact of tissue-specific tumor microenvironment on the efficacy of immunotherapy, with a focus on historically under-represented central nervous system (CNS) metastasis, which was excluded from most clinical trials. Retrospective examination of patient specimens and prospective clinical studies with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) have established that brain can harbor an "active" immune microenvironment for effective immunotherapy. Regulation by the innate immune microglial cells and remodeling of the blood–brain barrier (BBB) may contribute to immunotherapeutic responses mediated by T lymphocytes. How to convert an "inactive" (cold) brain microenvironment into an "active" (hot) brain TME should be the focus of future efforts. Thus, procurement and complete examination of clinical specimens from brain metastases as well as development of appropriate preclinical brain metastasis models susceptible to external manipulation of the TME are critical steps towards that goal. A deep learning-based rapid peak seismic response prediction model for the most common two-story and three-span subway stations is proposed in this study. The established model predicts the peak seismic responses of subway stations with a data-driven fashion and using limited information. The prediction model extracts the features of ground motions using one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) and then integrates the information of subway stations (i.e., the seismic fortification intensity, buried depth, and shear wave velocity) through a fully connected neural network for regression, resulting in peak seismic responses, namely the peak floor acceleration (PFA) and maximum inter-story drift ratio (MIDR). The model is trained using 19,200 samples obtained from the nonlinear time-history analyses (NLTHAs) of the designed 48 typical subway station structures. Furthermore, the external model verification was performed on 960 additional samples. For the predictions of PFA and MIDR , the coefficient of determination (R 2) values are 0.967 and 0.986, respectively, and the damage states of subway stations are further evaluated, achieving an accuracy of 95.0%. These indicates that the model has good predictive performance and generalization ability. Background. Type 2 deiodinase (Dio2) is a selenoenzyme that is mainly expressed in the endoplasmic reticulum of the central nervous system, brown adipose tissue, and placenta and is responsible for outer ring deiodination of thyroxine (T4) to form biologically active triiodothyronine (T3). The Thr92Ala polymorphism of Dio2 has been found to be a potential risk factor for various diseases beyond the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis. Methods. We searched the relevant studies in the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases and Google Scholar. A systematic review and meta-analysis of studies on the Thr92Ala polymorphism and metabolic parameters beyond the HPT axis (e.g., BMI, fasting glycemic traits, plasma lipid levels, and hypertension risk) were performed. Results. Six eligible studies that analyzed the relationship between the Thr92Ala polymorphism and metabolic parameters beyond the thyroid were identified. All selected studies excluded patients with thyroid dysfunction, and diabetic patients were also excluded when fasting glucose and fasting insulin levels were meta-analyzed. The Thr92Ala polymorphism was found to be a significant risk factor for higher BMI (Std. mean difference 0.31 (0.01, 0.60), p = 0.04) and higher fasting glucose levels (Std. mean difference 1.18 (0.05, 2.31), p = 0.04). However, fasting insulin levels, plasma lipid levels, and hypertension risk showed a nonsignificant association with the Thr92Ala polymorphism. Conclusion. Compared with euthyroid noncarriers (Thr/Thr), euthyroid Ala92-Dio2 carriers showed increased BMI levels, and Ala92-Dio2 carriers also had higher fasting plasma glucose levels than matched euthyroid nondiabetic noncarriers. Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is a common malignant tumour. Despite advancements in surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which have improved the prognosis of most patients, a subset of patients with poor prognoses still exist due to loss of surgical opportunities, postoperative recurrence, and metastasis, among other reasons. The tumour microenvironment (TME) is a complex organization composed of tumour, stromal, and endothelial cells. Communication and interaction between tumours and immune cells within the TME are increasingly being recognized as pivotal in inhibiting or promoting tumour development. Previous studies on T cells in the TME of HNSCC have yielded novel therapeutic possibilities. However, the function of B cells, another adaptive immune cell type, in the TME of HNSCC patients has yet to be determined. Recent studies have revealed various distinct subtypes of B cells and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) in the TME of HNSCC patients, which are believed to impact the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Background: Chinese topography appears a three-rung ladder-like distribution of decreasing elevation from northwest to southeast, which is divided by two sloping edges. Previous studies have reported that prevalence of thyroid diseases differed by altitude, and geographical factors were associated with thyroid disorders. To explore the association between three-rung ladder-like regions and thyroid disorders according to unique Chinese topographic features, we conducted an epidemiological cross-sectional study from 2015–2017 that covered all 31 mainland Chinese provinces. Methods: A total of 78,470 participants aged ≥ 18 years from a nationally representative cross-sectional study were included. Serum thyroid peroxidase antibody, thyroglobulin antibody, and thyroid-stimulating hormone levels; urine iodine concentration; and thyroid volume were measured. The three-rung ladder-like distribution of decreasing elevation from northwest to southeast in China was categorized into three topographic groups according to elevation: first ladder, > 3000 m above sea level; second ladder, descending from 3000—500 m; and third ladder, descending from 500 m to sea level. The third ladder was further divided into groups A (500–100 m) and B (< 100 m). Associations between geographic factors and thyroid disorders were assessed using linear and binary logistic regression analyses. Results: Participants in the first ladder group were associated with lower thyroid peroxidase (β = -4.69; P = 0.00), thyroglobulin antibody levels (β = -11.08; P = 0.01), and the largest thyroid volume (β = 1.74; P = 0.00), compared with the other groups. The second ladder group was associated with autoimmune thyroiditis (odds ratio = 1.30, 95% confidence interval [1.18–1.43]) and subclinical hypothyroidism (odds ratio = 0.61, 95%confidence interval [0.57–0.66]) (P < 0.05) compared with the first ladder group. Group A (third ladder) (500–100 m) was associated with thyroid nodules and subclinical hypothyroidism (P < 0.05). Furthermore, group B (< 100 m) was positively associated with autoimmune thyroiditis, thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin antibody positivity, and negatively associated with overt hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, and goiter compared with the first ladder group(P < 0.05). Conclusion: We are the first to investigate the association between different ladder regions and thyroid disorders according to unique Chinese topographic features. Background: The aim of the study is to investigate the proportion and clinical features of previous spontaneously ruptured ovarian endometrioma among women who underwent elective surgery for endometrioma. Methods: This retrospective study was based on a cohort of elective surgeries for endometrioma performed by the same gynecologic team at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2017 to October 2022. Patients diagnosed with previous spontaneously ruptured endometrioma during elective surgery were enrolled in the ruptured group. In the same cohort, patients with unruptured endometrioma treated during the same period were selected as the unruptured group by 1:2 matching according to age. Demographic and clinical information were collected and compared between two groups. Results: A total of 422 patients in the cohort were diagnosed with endometrioma. There were 38 patients (9.0%) in ruptured group and 76 patients in unruptured group. All enrolled participants were treated by laparoscopic surgery. In ruptured group, 86.8% patients had a history of acute abdominal pain, which was only 13.2% in unruptured group (P < 0.001). Compared to unruptured group, patients diagnosed with ruptured endometrioma had a lower BMI (P = 0.021), larger maximum diameter of endometrioma (P = 0.040), higher proportion of cul-de-sac partial obliteration rather than complete obliteration (P = 0.003). Conclusions: Spontaneous rupture of endometrioma is not rare. The proportion of spontaneous rupture of endometrioma in our study was higher than that reported in the literatures. The purpose of this study was to implore the association among clinical features, long-term fertility outcomes and the anatomical location of adenomyosis identified by ultrasound. We collected data of non-pregnant patients between 20 and 40 years old who had undergone surgical exploration for benign gynecological conditions at our institution between January 2010 and December 2017. A total of 158 women met the inclusion criteria and were allocated into three groups according to the ultrasound-determined adenomyosis anatomical location: anterior (Group A), posterior (Group B), both posterior and anterior (Group C). 44.3% (70/158) adenomyosis was located at the posterior side. History of miscarriage and parity were significantly higher in Group C (p = 0.036 and 0.001 respectively). Group C also had a higher concurrence rate of ovarian endometrioma (OEM) (80.4%, p = 0.002), pelvic adhesion (80.4%, P = 0.003) and the revised American Fertility Society (rAFS) Score (median64, range2-100, P < 0.001), while a significantly lower rate of concurrent peritoneal endometriosis (P = 0.01). Group B showed a relative higher rate of coexistent heavy menstrual bleeding (28.6%, p = 0.04) and oviduct obstruction (24.3%, P = 0.038). Group A had a higher proportion of coexistent leiomyoma (53.1%, P = 0.002). There were no significant differences between group A, B, and C in terms of pain symptoms, endometrial polyps, operation time, and endometriosis fertility index score and other basic characters (p > 0.05). During the follow-up, 59.2% (61/103) patients had clinical pregnancies, and 26.2% (16/61) of them experienced pregnancy loss. Total in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer pregnancy rate was 64.6% (42/65) and spontaneous pregnancy rate was 50.0% (19/38). The Kaplan–Meier curves demonstrated significant lower cumulative pregnancy rate in Group C than Group A and Group B (p = 0.01). Severe obstetric complications such as placenta previa, placenta accreta, preeclampsia, and preterm birth were only found in women with adenomyosis located in the posterior side. In conclusion, types of adenomyosis based on sonographic location had different clinical features and pregnancy outcome. In this paper, a series-capacitor-based interleaving buck power factor correction (PFC) converter is proposed, the intermediate energy storage capacitance of which is operated at discontinuous capacitor voltage mode (DCVM), and automatic power factor (PF) correction for this converter is obtained. Moreover, the voltage across the series capacitor of the proposed PFC converter is clamped at the input voltage, and thus peak voltage stress existed in the traditional DCVM buck PFC could be relieved. By effectively regulating the charge/discharge time for the series capacitor, ultrahigh step-down conversion ratio of the proposed converter is achieved, the conversion ratio of which is independent of the duty cycle and only related to the switching frequency and circuit parameters. Therefore, high PF can be obtained due to very narrow deadtime of the input current. Meanwhile, the proposed PFC converter can realize the soft turn-on of part power switch and soft turn-off of part power diodes. In addition, comparing with the traditional discontinuous inductor current mode PFC, the input current of the proposed PFC converter is continuous so that the peak value and root-mean-square value of input current can be reduced. The operational principle, performance analysis, and parameter design principle are given in this paper. The analysis results show that the PF and total harmonic distortion are also independent of the duty cycle. Due to the particularity of mine spaces and the limitations of underground ventilation, the gas in disaster areas changes greatly after a fire occurs. Rapid sealing technology is beneficial for preventing the development of fires and gas explosions by controlling oxygen. Using the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP), in this research, we analyzed the three most effective rapid sealing processes, conducted experimental research on the three sealing processes, and developed a further optimized design. At the same time, according to different stages of blasting damage, the change characteristics and migration laws of explosive hazardous gases in a disaster area were analyzed using fluent numerical simulation. Additionally, the ability of the three optimal processes to create an airtight area was measured in this research. The applicable scenarios and scope of the three technologies were found, which provides a wider range of application scenarios and more diverse options for rapid airtightness during catastrophic periods, mine fire prevention, and explosion protection. Infiltration of regulatory T (Treg) cells, an immunosuppressive population of CD4+ T cells, into solid cancers represents a barrier to cancer immunotherapy. Chemokine receptors are critical for Treg cell recruitment and cell-cell interactions in inflamed tissues, including cancer, and thus are an ideal therapeutic target. Here, we show in multiple cancer models that CXCR3+ Treg cells were increased in tumors compared with lymphoid tissues, exhibited an activated phenotype, and interacted preferentially with CXCL9-producing BATF3+ dendritic cells (DCs). Genetic ablation of CXCR3 in Treg cells disrupted DC1-Treg cell interactions and concomitantly increased DC-CD8+ T cell interactions. Mechanistically, CXCR3 ablation in Treg cells increased tumor antigen-specific cross-presentation by DC1s, increasing CD8+ T cell priming and reactivation in tumors. This ultimately impaired tumor progression, especially in combination with anti-PD-1 checkpoint blockade immunotherapy. Overall, CXCR3 is shown to be a critical chemokine receptor for Treg cell accumulation and immune suppression in tumors. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Bacillus licheniformis and combined herbs extracts on the physiological and immune characteristics, intestinal microbiota, and vibriosis resistance of sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus. The sea cucumbers were fed with basal diets supplemented with B. licheniformis (B group), combined herbs extracts (C group), or both (BC group). The BC group exhibited the better growth performance and higher digestive and immune enzyme activities, whereas the lowest parameters appeared in the control group. This revealed that dietary B. licheniformis and combined herbs extracts in combination could improve digestion, food intake, phosphatase-responsiveness, and oxidation resistance more efficiently compared with the other groups. The BC group was also more capable of regulating intestinal flora balance of sea cucumbers by increasing the beneficial bacteria related to energy synthesis and metabolic conversion, and inhibiting the potential pathogens associated with organic damage and metabolic disorders. Furthermore, the BC group showed greater ability of improving disease resistance by reducing the cumulative mortality rates and the counts of Vibrio splendidus. These results collectively demonstrated that dietary B. licheniformis and combined herbs extracts could improve the physiological and immune parameters, optimize the microbial community, and enhance the resistance to vibriosis of sea cucumbers, and the health-promoting effects were more obvious by supplying them in combination. Breast cancer ranks first among female cancers and has become a major public health problem in the current society. More studies indicated that these cancers are related to the change in the gut microbiome that can cause metabolic and immune system disorders in the body. However, there are few studies on the changes in gut microbiome caused by the onset of breast cancer, and the relationship between breast cancer and gut microbiome needs to be further clarified. In this study, we inoculated 4T1 breast cancer cells to induce breast cancer tumorigenesis in mice and collected their feces samples at different stages during this process. These intestinal florae were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing, and the results showed that at the phylum level, the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes decreased with the development of the tumor; at the family level, the intestinal microbiome had obvious variations of Lachnospiraceae, Bacteroidaceae, Erysipelotrichaceae, etc. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and COG annotation demonstrated that decreased abundance of cancer-related signaling pathways. This study elucidated the relationship between breast cancer and intestinal microbiome, and the research results can be used as an important biomarker for the diagnosis of breast cancer. The RIIβ subunit of cAMP‐dependent protein kinase A (PKA) is expressed in the brain and adipose tissue. RIIβ‐knockout mice show leanness and increased UCP1 in brown adipose tissue. The authors have previously reported that RIIβ reexpression in hypothalamic GABAergic neurons rescues the leanness. However, whether white adipose tissue (WAT) browning contributes to the leanness and whether RIIβ‐PKA in these neurons governs WAT browning are unknown. Here, this work reports that RIIβ‐KO mice exhibit a robust WAT browning. RIIβ reexpression in dorsal median hypothalamic GABAergic neurons (DMH GABAergic neurons) abrogates WAT browning. Single‐cell sequencing, transcriptome sequencing, and electrophysiological studies show increased GABAergic activity in DMH GABAergic neurons of RIIβ‐KO mice. Activation of DMH GABAergic neurons or inhibition of PKA in these neurons elicits WAT browning and thus lowers body weight. These findings reveal that RIIβ‐PKA in DMH GABAergic neurons regulates WAT browning. The isothermal and cyclic oxidation behavior of Mo-6Si-12B-(1, 2, 4, 8)Al samples was investigated from 800 to 1300 ℃. With increasing Al content, the isothermal oxidation resistance is enhanced and the pesting behavior is suppressed at 800 ℃. The Mo-6Si-12B–4Al alloy with an oxide layer of both an alumino-borosilicate glasses and mullite has the best overall oxidation performance.
