Background: CD34+ cells have been used to treat the patients with heart failure, but the outcome is variable. It is of great significance to scrutinize the fate and the mechanism of CD34+ cell differentiation in vivo during heart failure and explore its intervention strategy. Methods: We performed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of the total non-cardiomyocytes and enriched Cd34-tdTomato+ lineage cells in the murine (male Cd34-CreERT2; Rosa26-tdTomato mice) pressure overload model (transverse aortic constriction, TAC), and total non-cardiomyocytes from human adult hearts. Then, in order to determine the origin of CD34+ cell that plays a role in myocardial fibrosis, bone marrow transplantation model was performed. Furthermore, to further clarify the role of CD34 + cells in myocardial remodeling in response to TAC injury, we generated Cd34-CreERT2; Rosa26-eGFP-DTA (Cre/DTA) mice. Results: By analyzing the transcriptomes of 59,505 single cells from the mouse heart and 22,537 single cells from the human heart, we illustrated the dynamics of cell landscape during the progression of heart hypertrophy, including CD34+ cells, fibroblasts, endothelial and immune cells. By combining genetic lineage tracing and bone marrow transplantation models, we demonstrated that non-bone-marrow-derived CD34+ cells give rise to fibroblasts and endothelial cells, while bone-marrow-derived CD34+ cell turned into immune cells only in response to pressure overload. Interestingly, partial depletion of CD34+ cells alleviated the severity of myocardial fibrosis with a significant improvement of cardiac function in Cd34-CreERT2; Rosa26-eGFP-DTA model. Similar changes of non-cardiomyocyte composition and cellular heterogeneity of heart failure were also observed in human patient with heart failure. Furthermore, immunostaining showed a double labeling of CD34 and fibroblast markers in human heart tissue. Mechanistically, our single-cell pseudotime analysis of scRNA-seq data and in vitro cell culture study revealed that Wnt-β-catenin and TGFβ1/Smad pathways are critical in regulating CD34+ cell differentiation toward fibroblasts. Conclusions: Our study provides a cellular landscape of CD34+ cell-derived cells in the hypertrophy heart of human and animal models, indicating that non-bone-marrow-derived CD34+ cells differentiating into fibroblasts largely account for cardiac fibrosis. Simple Summary: Lymphatic vessels are low-pressure, blind-ended tubular structures essential in maintaining tissue fluid homeostasis, immune cell transport, and lipid transport. More and more evidence showed that lymphangiogenesis might be closely related to the development of many diseases, and the intervention of lymphangiogenesis may be a new direction of disease treatment. This review aims to discuss the molecular mechanisms of lymphangiogenesis, the effect of lymphangiogenesis on tumor immune tolerance, the emerging role of meningeal lymphatics and cardiac lymphatics, and the promising applications of lymphangiogenesis in immunotherapy and bioengineering materials. The lymphatic system is a channel for fluid transport and cell migration, but it has always been controversial in promoting and suppressing cancer. VEGFC/VEGFR3 signaling has long been recognized as a major molecular driver of lymphangiogenesis. However, many studies have shown that the neural network of lymphatic signaling is complex. Lymphatic vessels have been found to play an essential role in the immune regulation of tumor metastasis and cardiac repair. This review describes the effects of lipid metabolism, extracellular vesicles, and flow shear forces on lymphangiogenesis. Moreover, the pro-tumor immune tolerance function of lymphatic vessels is discussed, and the tasks of meningeal lymphatic vessels and cardiac lymphatic vessels in diseases are further discussed. Finally, the value of conversion therapy targeting the lymphatic system is introduced from the perspective of immunotherapy and pro-lymphatic biomaterials for lymphangiogenesis. Background: Transplant arteriosclerosis is a major complication in long-term survivors of heart transplantation. Increased lymph flow from donor heart to host lymph nodes has been reported to play a role in transplant arteriosclerosis, but how lymphangiogenesis affects this process is unknown. Methods: Vascular allografts were transplanted among various combinations of mice, including wild-type, Lyve1 -CreERT2;R26-tdTomato, CAG -Cre-tdTomato, severe combined immune deficiency, Ccr2 KO, Foxn1 KO, and lghm / lghd KO mice. Whole-mount staining and 3-dimensional reconstruction identified lymphatic vessels within the grafted arteries. Lineage tracing strategies delineated the cellular origin of lymphatic endothelial cells. Adeno-associated viral vectors and a selective inhibitor were used to regulate lymphangiogenesis. Results: Lymphangiogenesis within allograft vessels began at the anastomotic sites and extended from preexisting lymphatic vessels in the host. Tertiary lymphatic organs were identified in transplanted arteries at the anastomotic site and lymphatic vessels expressing CCL21 (chemokine [C-C motif] ligand 21) were associated with these immune structures. Fibroblasts in the vascular allografts released VEGF-C (vascular endothelial growth factor C), which stimulated lymphangiogenesis into the grafts. Inhibition of VEGF-C signaling inhibited lymphangiogenesis, neointima formation, and adventitial fibrosis of vascular allografts. These studies identified VEGF-C released from fibroblasts as a signal stimulating lymphangiogenesis extending from the host into the vascular allografts. Conclusions: Formation of lymphatic vessels plays a key role in the immune response to vascular transplantation. Tb3Al5O12 ( TAG) transparent ceramics were prepared by a reactive sintering method using presintering in a muffle furnace combined with hot isostatic pressing ( HIP) sintering. The dilatometric, differential scanning calorimetry-thermogravimetric ( DSC- TG) curves and optical quality were investigated. The microstructure evolution of the TAG ceramic samples was clarified. Two successive transformations were found to generate a TAG phase, as observed in the dilatometric and DSC- TG curves and XRD patterns of TAG ceramics sintered at different temperature. The changes in average grain size and densification suggest that a 1600°C presintering temperature is suitable for HIP. The optical transmittance of the obtained 0.4 wt% TEOS: TAG transparent ceramics, which were fabricated by a new two-step sintering of presintering at 1600°C in a muffle furnace followed by HIP at 1650°C, can reach above 80% in the visible (vis) and near-infrared ( NIR) regions. Its transmittance was very close to the theoretical limit. The spectral properties of lightly doped Er:CaF 2 and Er,Pr:CaF 2 single crystals were investigated. Benefited from particular clustering effect, 2.79 μm continuous-wave (CW) laser operation was demonstrated in lightly doped 3 at.% Er:CaF 2 crystal. After co-doping small amount of Pr 3+ , the lifetime gap between Er 3+ : 4 I 11/2 and Er 3+ : 4 I 13/2 was shortened from 7.86 ms to about 1 ms. Moreover, the near-infrared and up-conversion fluorescence were significantly quenched. Thus, the CW laser performance was greatly improved. Despite excellent ductility and dimension stability, the relatively low mechanical strength and stiffness of PA612 extremely restrict its engineering applications. We herein have demonstrated the fabrication of high-performance PA612 composites combining superior mechanical and abrasion resistance properties by choosing two dimensional alumina platelets with a relatively low aspect ratio (∼35). Infrared spectra show that Al 2 O 3 forms strong hydrogen-bond interactions with PA612. Tensile results demonstrate that adding 30 wt% of Al 2 O 3 platelets increases the tensile strength and elastic modulus of PA612 by 55% (∼73 MPa) and 128% (∼3.38 GPa), respectively. In addition, the specific wear rate is reduced by about 61%. Such remarkable improvements in mechanical and abrasion resistance properties are mainly due to the high strength and stiffness of alumina platelets and the strong interfacial interactions with the PA612 matrix. 2 at.% Tm, xat.% Dy:Y 2 O 3 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.5 and 1) transparent ceramics were fabricated via vacuum sintering. The microstructural properties of the prepared ceramics were determined using XRD and SEM. The absorption cross-section of 2 at.% Tm, 1 at.% Dy:Y 2 O 3 ceramic was 0.53 × 10−20 cm2 with the FWHM of 43.59 nm. The increased cross-section originates from a large overlapping range appearing in the absorption spectrum of the Dy3+:6H 15/2 → 6F 5/2 and Tm3+:3H 6 →6H 4 transitions. The J-O intensity parameters Ω 2 , Ω 4 and Ω 6 and the fluorescence characteristics of the pivotal luminescent level of the Dy3+ ions were investigated. Under 793 nm excitation, the emission cross section of the Tm,Dy:Y 2 O 3 ceramic at 3094 nm was 3.63 × 10−21 cm2 with the FWHM of 355 nm. The fluorescence lifetimes of Dy3+:6H 13/2 level of 2 at.% Tm, xat.% Dy:Y 2 O 3 (x = 0.1, 0.5 and 1) ceramics were fitted to be 357 μs, 282 μs and 149 μs, respectively. In order to explore the quenching mechanism of Tm3+:3F 4 level, the fluorescence lifetimes of Tm3+:3F 4 of the 2 at.% Tm, xat.% Dy:Y 2 O 3 ceramics (x = 0, 0.1, 0.5 and 1) were measured to be 4.878 ms, 462 μs, 104 μs and 61 μs, respectively. The possible energy transfer mechanisms between Tm3+ and Dy3+ ions are discussed. Summary: Global warming has profound impact on growth and development, and plants constantly adjust their internal circadian clock to cope with external environment. However, how clock‐associated genes fine‐tune thermoresponsive growth in plants is little understood.We found that loss‐of‐function mutation of REVEILLE5 (RVE5) reduces the expression of circadian gene EARLY FLOWERING 4 (ELF4) in Arabidopsis, and confers accelerated hypocotyl growth under warm‐temperature conditions.Both RVE5 and CIRCADIAN CLOCK ASSOCIATED 1 (CCA1) accumulate at warm temperatures and bind to the same EE cis‐element presented on ELF4 promoter, but the transcriptional repression activity of RVE5 is weaker than that of CCA1. The binding of CCA1 to ELF4 promoter is enhanced in the rve5‐2 mutant at warm temperatures, and overexpression of ELF4 in the rve5‐2 mutant background suppresses the rve5‐2 mutant phenotype at warm temperatures.Therefore, the transcriptional repressor RVE5 finetunes ELF4 expression via competing at a cis‐element with the stronger transcriptional repressor CCA1 at warm temperatures. Cooperative communications have recently been migrated to one of state-of-the-art features of 3GPP LTE-Advanced (LTE-A). Cooperative communications fundamentally change the abstraction of a wireless link and offer significant potential advantages for wireless communication networks. This article visits cooperative techniques, such as relay, distributed antennas systems (DAS), multicell coordination, Group Cell, Coordinated Multiple Point transmission and reception (CoMP), those turn the traditional cellular system into a cooperative system. In particular, we propose several joint processing policies to demonstrate the Group Cell (CoMP) concept. Background: Extracorporeal blood purification therapies targeting removal of the downstream products of the inflammatory cascade in sepsis have failed to improve mortality. As an upstream process of the inflammatory cascade, activated white blood cells should be a potential therapeutic target for sepsis, and the effect of removing such cells by extracorporeal centrifugal leukocytapheresis (LCAP) is worth considering.Methods: Fourteen peritonitis-induced septic pigs were randomly assigned to receive a sham operation (control group, n = 7) or one session of LCAP at 12 h after sepsis induction (treatment group, n = 7). Samples from peripheral blood at various time-points and from LCAP collection were tested. All pigs were euthanized at 48 h, and lung, kidney, liver and spleen tissues were obtained for histopathological examination.Results: Two pigs died in accidents before the induction of sepsis, and 12 pigs were finally included for the statistical analysis. A significant clinical improvement was present in the treatment group relative to the control group in terms of the mean arterial blood pressure (MAP), oxygen tension (PaO2), lactic acid level, oxygenation index (PaO2/FiO2), and carbon dioxide tension (PaCO2, P < 0.05). Flow cytometry tests showed that a mixture of B cells, dendritic cells, T helper cells, cytotoxic T cells, monocytes and neutrophils were removed from the circulation by LCAP, resulting in sepsis-induced change trends in the control cells; these change trends were all flattened in the treatment group, although nonsignificantly.Conclusions: LCAP may exert a wide-spectrum and bidirectional immunomodulatory effect on sepsis, accompanied by improvements in hemodynamics and oxygenation status. Background: Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are highly susceptible to infection and cardiovascular events, suggesting that chronic antigenic stimulation may accelerate premature aging in SLE patients. Premature aging in SLE is often accompanied with the expansion of cytotoxic CD4 + CD28−T cells. Damage caused by CD4 + CD28− T cells enhances the progressive aging of the tissue function and loss of organism's fitness. The high serum level of IL-15 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of SLE, but its role in CD4 + CD28−T cell-mediated cytotoxicity in nephritic SLE remains unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of IL-15 on functional properties and associated renal damage of cytotoxic CD4 + CD28− T cell in lupus nephritis (LN). Results: Flow cytometry showed that the number of circulating innate-like CD4 + CD28− T cells was increased in patients with nephritic SLE. Immunofluorescence showed CD4 + CD28− T cell infiltration in the kidney of LN patients, which was correlated with multiple clinicopathological features including estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), proteinuria, the proportion of glomerulosclerosis and the degree of renal chronicity. In addition, a high level of IL-15 and IL15-expressing macrophage infiltration was detected in the periglomerular and intraglomerular tissues of LN patients, which enhanced the innate features, cytokine secretion and migratory capability of CD4 + CD28− T cells, and finally exerted direct TCR-independent cytotoxicity on glomerular endothelial cells in an IL-15-dependent manner in vitro. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that excessive IL-15 potentially promoted cytotoxic CD4 + CD28− T cell-mediated renal damage in LN. Accurate parameters estimation is one of the most crucial components in remaining useful life (RUL) prediction. This paper proposes an unbiased parameters estimation method and analyzes the impact of model mis-specification of Wiener process-based degradation model with random effects. First, we obtain an analytical expression of parameters estimation for the linear Wiener process. Then, by analyzing the natures of parameters estimation, an unbiased parameters estimation method is proposed and applied to other types of Wiener process-based degradation models. This unbiased estimation method is very similar to the sample variance of normal distribution. Since the sample size of degradation data is typically small, hence the proposed unbiased estimation method is suggested. After that, we present an empirical unbiased parameters estimation method with a closed-form solution when the degradation data is measured at different times. The proposed unbiased estimation method could increase computational speed and avoid falling into local minimum. In addition, based on parameters estimation results, the mis-specification issue about whether the random effects should be considered in the degradation modeling is analyzed in theory. Finally, several numerical examples and case studies are used for experimental verification. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed unbiased parameters estimation method is superior to other parameters estimation methods and the random effects are suggested to be considered. A plasma jet-triggered gas switch (PJT-GS) has been developed as an important piece of equipment to operate in an ± 800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission system (UHV DC) to achieve grid system protection and control. The crucial factors that would affect its operational performance, such as the current level the PJT-GS could withstand and the gas gap distance between the two rotating electrodes, are comparatively studied in the present work by analysing the arc dynamic characteristics. The rotating electrode used in the PJT-GS is designed with a helical-slotted structure, and the arc can be rotated circularly driven by the produced transverse magnetic field (TMF) along the electrode edge. The objective of such research is to provide a thorough study of the arc dynamic behaviour during the current flowing process of the PJT-GS and also to characterise the physical mechanism that affects the arc rotation and the PJT-GS operation performance. The magnetohydrodynamic-based (MHD) approach is applied by establishing a 3D arc model. Following such a study, the variation of arc characteristics under different operation conditions could be thoroughly determined and it also could provide the guidance for the PJT-GS optimum design reasonably to support its corresponding engineering applications. By introducing synonymous mutations into the coding sequences of GP64sp and FibHsp signal peptides, the influences of mRNA secondary structure and codon usage of signal sequences on protein expression and secretion were investigated using baculovirus/insect cell expression system. The results showed that mRNA structural stability of the signal sequences was not correlated with the protein production and secretion levels, and FibHsp was more tolerable to codon changes than GP64sp. Codon bias analyses revealed that codons for GP64sp were well de-optimized and contained more non-optimal codons than FibHsp. Synonymous mutations in GP64sp sufficiently increased its average codon usage frequency and resulted in dramatic reduction of the activity and secretion of luciferase. Protein degradation inhibition assay with MG-132 showed that higher codon usage frequency in the signal sequence increased the production as well as the degradation of luciferase protein, indicating that the synonymous codon substitutions in the signal sequence caused misfolding of luciferase instead of slowing down the protein production. Meanwhile, we found that introduction of more non-optimal codons into FibHsp could increase the production and secretion levels of luciferase, which suggested a new strategy to improve the production of secretory proteins in insect cells. The number of B cells is increased and the O-glycans of IgA1 are incompletely galactosylated in IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Here we report that expression of phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) and Cosmc is decreased in B cells, and correlates with B cell number and the aberrant glycosylation of IgA1 in IgAN. Patients with IgAN exhibit higher miR-374b in B cells compared to controls. We show that miR-374b targets PTEN and Cosmc by luciferase assays and western blot analysis. Inhibition of miR-374b increased PTEN and Cosmc expression, and prevented cell proliferation and aberrant glycosylation of IgA1, thus representing a new therapeutic approach for IgAN. Designing porous and flexible electrodes with excellent electrochemical properties is crucial to fabricate high-performance flexible supercapacitors. Conductive polymer-based electrospun fibers are expected to be an ideal material for constructing flexible electrodes due to the enormous specific surface area, unique pore structure and inherent flexibility. However, the exploration of such electrospun fibers with facile preparation methods and high areal capacitance remains challenging. Herein, a novel polyetherimide@polyaniline core-shell fibrous membranes (PEI@PANI CFMs) is fabricated via simply coaxial electrospinning and 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid (AMPS) secondary doping. With the aid of polyetherimide, highly concentrated emeraldine base polyaniline (EB-PANI) can be perfectly wrapped on the surface of fibers without any spinning assistants, ensuring the well-developed pore structures, superior hydrophilicity, good electrical conductivity and outstanding mechanical flexibility. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of structure and constituents, such flexible PEI@PANI CFMs as electrode materials can provide more accessible electrochemical active sites and decrease the ion diffusion resistance. Therefore, the PEI@PANI CFMs present outstanding areal capacitance of 1159.9 mF cm−2 and remarkable energy density of 46.91 μW h cm−2 in the electrodes and symmetric supercapacitors, demonstrating great potential for applications in flexible energy storage field. Herpes simplex virus type I (HSV-1) infection is a potential risk factor involved in the Amyloid β (Aβ) associated neuropathology. However, further understanding of the neuropathological effects of the HSV-1 infection is hampered by the limitations of existing infection models due to the distinct differences between human brains and other mammalians' brains. Here we generated cerebral organoid models derived from pluripotent stem cells to investigate the HSV-induced Aβ associated neuropathology and the role of antiviral drugs in the phenotypic rescue. Our results identified that the HSV-1-infected cerebral organoids recapitulated Aβ associated neuropathology including the multicellular Aβ deposition, dysregulated endogenous AD mediators, reactive gliosis, neuroinflammation, and neural loss, indicating that cerebral organoids offer an opportunity for modeling the interaction of HSV-1 with the complex phenotypes across the genetic, cellular, and tissue levels of the human Alzheimer's disease (AD). Furthermore, we identified that two antiviral drugs, namely Ribavirin (RBV) and Valacyclovir (VCV), inhibited HSV-1 replication and rescued the neuropathological phenotypes associated with AD in the HSV-1-infected cerebral organoids, implying their therapeutic potential to slow down the progression of AD. Our study provides a high-fidelity human-relevant in-vitro HSV-1 infection model to reconstitute the multiscale neuropathological features associated with AD and discover therapeutic drug candidates relevant to the AD viral hypothesis. This paper presents a method for use in estimating the state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion batteries which is based on an electrochemical impedance equivalent circuit model with a controlled source. Considering that the open-circuit voltage of a battery varies with the SOC, an equivalent circuit model with a controlled source is proposed which the voltage source and current source interact with each other. On this basis, the radial basis function (RBF) neural network is adopted to estimate the uncertainty in the battery model online, and a non-linear observer based on the radial basis function of the RBF neural network is designed to estimate the SOC of batteries. It is proved that the SOC estimation error is ultimately bounded by Lyapunov stability analysis, and the error bound can be arbitrarily small. The high accuracy and validity of the non-linear observer based on the RBF neural network in SOC estimation are verified with experimental simulation results. Early detection and monitoring of heavy load induced plastic deformation in the structure is crucial for timely intervention before cracking occurs and the material completely fails. Ultrasound can be used for detecting plastic deformation provided the mechanical modulus, which can be probed via changes in velocities. This work presents a measurement scheme that makes use of optically detected, laser-induced surface acoustic waves (SAWs) for remote, real-time, online monitoring of the wave velocity during the elastic–plastic transition occurring in an aluminum plate undergoing a uniaxial tensile test and a dynamic fatigue test. Monochromatic SAWs were photoacoustically generated in a wavelength-controlled way through a transient thermal grating based laser ultrasonics excitation scheme. The SAWs were detected by a home-built photorefractive interferometer. The results reveal both regions of acceleration and slowing down, indicating that the material first stiffens and then starts to form microcracks that make it behave effectively softer for propagating SAWs. Pseudorabies virus (PRV) infection could cause severe histopathological damage via releasing multiple factors, including cytokines, peptides, etc. Here, peptidomic results showed that 129 peptides were identified in PRV-infected mouse lungs and were highly involved in the process of PRV infection. The role of one down-regulated biological peptide (designated as AGDP) during PRV infection was investigated. To verify the expression profiles of AGDP in response to PRV infection, the expression level of the precursor protein of AGDP mRNA was significantly decreased in PRV-infected mouse lungs and cells. The synthesized AGDP-treating cells were less susceptible to PRV challenges than the controls, as demonstrated by the decreased virus production and gE expression. AGDP not only inhibited the expression of TNF-α and IL-8 but also appeared to suppress the extracellular release of high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) by inhibiting the output of nuclear HMGB1 in cells. AGDP could also inhibit the degradation of IκBα and the phosphorylation levels of P65 after PRV infection. In total, our results revealed many meaningful peptides involved in PRV infection, thereby enhancing the current understanding of the host response to PRV infection, and how AGDP may serve as a promising candidate for developing novel anti-PRV drugs. Abstract: Nanorod spinel MnFe2O4 was synthesized by seed–hydrothermal route (combine hydrothermal method with seed growth method). XRD, Mössbauer spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, EDX and VSM were used to investigate the characters of the MnFe2O4. The obtained ferrite exhibited a uniform nanorod shape with 25–40nm in diameter and 300–400nm in length. The formation of the nanorod ferrite was explained as the inducement of seed, and the temperature of synthesizing 1-D ferrite by this method was lower than that without seed. All elements distributed equably along the rod axis. The crystal structure of obtained MnFe2O4 was high symmetry and partial of spinel inversion. In addition, the as-prepared ferrite showed a high saturation magnetization (M s =72.45emug−1) at room temperature and had a high photocatalytic activity (67.18%) to Methylene blue (MB). Abstract: The rod-shaped La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) nanorods are prepared by a simple solid-state route, in which KMnO4 and MnCl2 are used as raw materials to prepare the precursor of MnO2 fibres. The diameter of as-obtained LSMO rods is about 50nm and their length longer than 10μm. We found that there is a close relation between morphology and the conditions of synthesis for LSMO preparing by MnO2 fibres as seeds. The process of the rods growth is observed by calcining the samples at different temperatures and periods of time. In the rods growth process, many small aggregates formed containing large numbers of rods in a low temperature (lower than 950°C). These aggregates then broke up to form a large number of individual LSMO rods (950°C, 5h). Finally, the rods changed into cubic particles with prolonging treatment time to more than 5h at 950°C. Abstract: A novel energy- and time-saving solution combustion method has been developed to prepare Eu:Y2O3 nano-crystalline phosphor. This novel method employs anhydrous ethanol as solvent and fuel. The prepared nano-crystals after heat-treatment own narrow size distribution, well dispersibility and sinterability, confirmed by XRD, TEM and FTIR. The core plant circadian oscillator is composed of multiple interlocked transcriptional–translational feedback loops, which synchronize endogenous diel physiological rhythms to the cyclic changes of environmental cues. PSEUDO-RESPONSE REGULATORS (PRRs) have been identified as negative components in the circadian clock, though their underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. Here, we found that a subfamily of zinc finger transcription factors, B-box (BBX)-containing proteins, have a critical role in fine-tuning circadian rhythm. We demonstrated that overexpressing Arabidopsis thaliana BBX19 and BBX18 significantly lengthened the circadian period, while the null mutation of BBX19 accelerated the circadian speed. Moreover, BBX19 and BBX18, which are expressed during the day, physically interacted with PRR9, PRR7, and PRR5 in the nucleus in precise temporal ordering from dawn to dusk, consistent with the respective protein accumulation pattern of PRRs. Our transcriptomic and genetic analysis indicated that BBX19 and PRR9, PRR7, and PRR5 cooperatively inhibited the expression of morning-phased clock genes. PRR proteins affected BBX19 recruitment to the CCA1 , LHY , and RVE8 promoters. Collectively, our findings show that BBX19 interacts with PRRs to orchestrate circadian rhythms, and suggest the indispensable role of transcriptional regulators in fine-tuning the circadian clock. Rice grain oil is a valuable nutrient source. However, the genetic basis of oil biosynthesis in rice grains remains unclear. In this study, we performed a genome-wide association study on oil composition and oil concentration in a diverse panel of 533 cultivated rice accessions. High variation for 11 oil-related traits was observed, and the oil composition of rice grains showed differentiation among the subpopulations. We identified 46 loci that are significantly associated with grain oil concentration or composition, 16 of which were detected in three recombinant inbred line populations. Twenty-six candidate genes encoding enzymes involved in oil metabolism were identified from these 46 loci, four of which (PAL6 , LIN6 , MYR2 , and ARA6) were found to contribute to natural variation in oil composition and to show differentiation among the subpopulations. Interestingly, population genetic analyses revealed that specific haplotypes of PAL6 and LIN6 have been selected in japonica rice. Based on these results, we propose a possible oil biosynthetic pathway in rice grains. Collectively, our results provide new insights into the genetic basis of oil biosynthesis in rice grains and can facilitate marker-based breeding of rice varieties with enhanced oil and grain quality. The utility of semantic change detection in myriad change scenarios has garnered considerable attention in contemporary research; however, its applicability in monitoring alterations in wetland ecosystems remains incompletely elucidated. To surmount the constraints associated with binary change detection methodologies—chiefly their insufficiency in the extraction of bi-temporal attributes—we introduced the Bi-Temporal Semantic Reasoning UNet++ (Bi-SRUNet++) algorithm. This algorithm leverages the architectural strengths of UNet++ as its foundational network to precisely delineate features pertinent to multi-class change detection. As a preliminary step, the study focused on the Dongting Lake wetland in China and conducted an analysis of feature trends predicated upon the monthly Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), as derived from Landsat 8 data spanning 2021–2022. Subsequently, the optimal temporal phases for change detection were ascertained through differential analyses between NDWI and NDVI metrics. Implementing the Bi-SRUNet++ algorithm on a pair of Sentinel-2 images, captured during the optimal phases, yielded augmented change information. Comparative evaluations reveal that the Bi-SRUNet++ algorithm, conceptualized on the framework of Bi-Temporal Semantic Reasoning Network (Bi-SRNet), surpasses the performance indices of its counterpart Semantic Segmentation and Change Detection Late Fusion (SSCD-l). Furthermore, the incorporation of the UNet++ backbone network amplifies the algorithm's capacity for semantic feature extraction, thereby enhancing the efficacy of Bi-SRUNet++ in wetland change detection. The analysis divulges that the total altered area of Dongting Lake during the 2021–2022 period amounts to 1187.97 km2, comprising a water loss of 1186.16 km2, a 715.34 km2 transformation into vegetation, and a conversion of 469.96 km2 into mudflats. As sessile organisms, plants perceive, respond, and adapt to the environmental changes for optimal growth and survival. The plant growth and fitness are enhanced by circadian clocks through coordination of numerous biological events. In legume species, nitrogen‐fixing root nodules were developed as the plant organs specialized for symbiotic transfer of nitrogen between microsymbiont and host. Here, we report that the endogenous circadian rhythm in nodules is regulated by MtLHY in legume species Medicago truncatula. Loss of function of MtLHY leads to a reduction in the number of nodules formed, resulting in a diminished ability to assimilate nitrogen. The operation of the 24‐h rhythm in shoot is further influenced by the availability of nitrogen produced by the nodules, leading to the irregulated nyctinastic leaf movement and reduced biomass in mtlhy mutants. These data shed new light on the roles of MtLHY in the orchestration of circadian oscillator in nodules and shoots, which provides a mechanistic link between nodulation, nitrogen assimilation, and clock function. Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), as one of the most widely used engineering plastics, suffers from the problem of serious flammability and low mechanical strength. To address such an intractable challenge, herein, we report the design of a graphene-based multifunctional additive (Sb-Mo/Br-rGO) via the bromination followed by precipitating antimony molybdenum. The surface functionalization enables Sb-Mo/Br-rGO to homogeneously disperse within the ABS matrix through facile melt-blending. The incorporation of 5 wt% Sb-Mo/Br-rGO leads to a 31% increase in tensile strength and 73% increase in elastic modulus relative to the ABS bulk. In addition to significant enhancement in thermal stability, the inclusion of 5 wt% Sb-Mo/Br-rGO significantly delays the time to ignition of ABS by 12 s, and noticeably reduces the peak heat release rate (PHRR) and total smoke production (TSP) by 45% and 54%, respectively. Such improved performance portfolio is primarily because the mechanical reinforcing and thermal barrier effect of graphene nanosheets, the flame retardant effect of bromine/antimony, and the smoke suppression action of antimony molybdenum. This work provides an innovative methodology for the design of multifunctional additives to create high-performance polymeric materials with high strength and low flammability, thus contributing to improving the quality of life. The circadian clock provides a time-keeping mechanism that synchronizes various biological activities with the surrounding environment. Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) CIRCADIAN CLOCK ASSOCIATED1 (CCA1), encoding a MYB-related transcription factor, is a key component of the core oscillator of the circadian clock, with peak expression in the morning. The molecular mechanisms regulating the light induction and rhythmic expression of CCA1 remain elusive. In this study, we show that two phytochrome signaling proteins, FAR-RED ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL3 (FHY3) and its paralog FAR-RED IMPAIRED RESPONSE1 (FAR1), are essential for the light-induced expression of CCA1. FHY3 and FAR1 directly bind to the CCA1 promoter and activate its expression, whereas PHYTOCHROME INTERACTING FACTOR5 (PIF5) directly binds to its promoter and represses its expression. Furthermore, PIF5 and TIMING OF CAB EXPRESSION1 physically interact with FHY3 and FAR1 to repress their transcriptional activation activity on CCA1 expression. These findings demonstrate that the photosensory-signaling pathway integrates with circadian oscillators to orchestrate clock gene expression. This mechanism might form the molecular basis of the regulation of the clock system by light in response to daily changes in the light environment, thus increasing plant fitness. Background: Radiotherapy inadvertently affects gastrointestinal (GI) epithelial cells, causing intestinal barrier disruption and increased permeability.Objective: We examined the effect of amino acid-based oral rehydration solution (AA-ORS) on radiation-induced changes of intestinal barrier function and epithelial tight junctions (TJs) in a randomized experimental study using a total-body irradiation (TBI) mouse model.Methods: Eight-week-old male Swiss mice received a single-dose TBI (0, 1, 3, or 5 Gy), and subsequent gastric gavage with AA-ORS (threonine, valine, serine, tyrosine, and aspartic acid) or saline for 2 or 6 d. Intestinal barrier function of mouse ileum was characterized by electrophysiological analysis of conductance, anion selectivity, and paracellular permeability [fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-dextran]. Ultrastructural changes of TJs were evaluated by transmission electron microscopy. Membrane protein and mRNA expression of claudin-1, -2, -3, -5, and -7, occludin, and E-cadherin were analyzed with western blot, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry. Nonparametric tests were used to compare treatment-dose differences for each time point.Results: Saline-treated mice had a higher conductance at doses as low as 3 Gy, and as early as 2 d post-TBI compared with 0 Gy (P < 0.001). Paracellular permeability and dilution potential were increased 6 d after 5 Gy TBI (P < 0.001). Conductance decreased with AA-ORS after 2 d in 3-Gy and 5-Gy mice (P < 0.05 and P < 0.001), and on day 6 after 5 Gy TBI (P < 0.001). Anion selectivity and FITC permeability decreased from 0.73 ± 0.02 to 0.61 ± 0.03 pCl/pNa (P < 0.01) and from 2.7 ± 0.1 × 105 to 2.1 ± 0.1 × 105 RFU (P < 0.001) in 5-Gy mice treated with AA-ORS for 6 d compared with saline. Irradiation-induced ultrastructural changes of TJs characterized by decreased electron density and gap formation improved with AA-ORS. Reduced claudin-1, -3, and -7 membrane expression after TBI recovered with AA-ORS within 6 d, whereas claudin-2 decreased indicating restitution of TJ proteins.Conclusions: Radiation-induced functional and structural disruption of the intestinal barrier in mice is reversed by AA-ORS rendering AA-ORS a potential treatment option in prospective clinical trials in patients with gastrointestinal barrier dysfunction. Background: Ubiquilin-4 (UBQLN4) is a member of the ubiquitin–proteasome system that is usually upregulated in many tumor cells. Its overexpression has been associated with poor disease outcomes in various cancer diseases. However, the underlying mechanism of UBQLN4 in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not been elucidated. Methods: Immunochemistry, real-time PCR, and western blotting were used to evaluate the expression levels of UBQLN4 in cancer tissues. Univariate, Cox-regression, and Kaplan–Meier analyses were performed to determine the association between UBQLN4 expression and HCC prognosis. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), transwell, EDU and colony formation assays were conducted to evaluate the role of UBQLN4 in HCC cell progression. The gene set enrichment analysis and luciferase reporter experiments were conducted to find the mechanism of UBQLN4 in HCC. Results: Ubiquilin-4 (UBQLN4) was overexpressed in HCC tissues. Besides, overexpression of UBQLN4 was associated with poor overall survival and disease-free survival rate of HCC patients. The loss-of-function analysis revealed that suppression of UBQLN4 inhibited the proliferation and invasion of HCC cells in vivo and in vitro. The KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) analysis showed that UBQLN4 could regulate activation of the wnt-β-catenin pathway in HCC cells. Furthermore, our results showed that UBQLN4 was downregulated by miR-370, which acted as a tumor suppressor gene in HCC progression. Conclusion: The results of the present study suggest that the miR-370/UBQLN4 axis may play a critical role in the progression of HCC. We report on a high-power Ho:YAG single-crystal fiber (SCF) laser inband pumped by a high-brightness Tm-fiber laser at 1908 nm. The Ho:YAG SCF grown by the micro-pulling-down technique exhibits a propagation loss of $0.05\pm 0.005~\text{cm}^{-1}$ at $2.09~\unicode[STIX]{x03BC}\text{m}$. A continuous-wave output power of 35.2 W is achieved with a slope efficiency of 42.7%, which is to the best of our knowledge the highest power ever reported from an SCF-based laser in the 2 $\unicode[STIX]{x03BC}\text{m}$ spectral range. Background: Emerging evidence reveals the vital role of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) in cancer chemoresistance. However, its function and molecular mechanisms in breast cancer chemoresistance remain largely unknown. Methods: Gene expression was evaluated using quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and Western blot analysis. The functional roles of EZH2 and miR-381 in breast cancer were explored using cell MTT assay and flow cytometry analysis. The effect of EZH2 on miR-381 expression in transcriptional level was determined using Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay and Luciferase reporter assay. Results: In this study, we found that EZH2 was up-regulated in CDDP-resistant breast cancer tissues and cell lines. Breast cancer patients with high EZH2 expression had a poor prognosis. EZH2 silencing improved the sensitivity of MCF-7/CDDP and MDA-MB-231/CDDP cells towards CDDP. Moreover, EZH2 could epigenetically silence miR-381. miR-381 overexpression could overcome CDDP resistance in CDDP-resistant breast cancer cells. miR-381 knockdown weakened the inductive effect of EZH2 silencing on CDDP sensitivity of MCF-7/CDDP and MDA-MB-231/CDDP cells. Furthermore, EZH2 knockdown facilitated CDDP sensitivity of CDDP-resistant breast cancer cells in vivo. Conclusions: Collectively, EZH2 depletion overcame CDDP resistance of breast cancer through epigenetically silencing miR-381, providing a novel therapeutic target for breast cancer chemoresistance. This work reports the modification of egg shell (ES) particles by using stearic acid (SA) and their reinforcement in the epoxy matrix. The ES treatment via SA was optimized, the optimum conditions for concentration, temperature, and time were found to be 2.5%, 85 °C, and 50 min, respectively. The untreated ES (UES) and treated ES (TES) particles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), particle size distribution, and contact angle. FTIR confirmed the chemical modification of SA on ES surface and DSC reflects an endothermic peak at 240 °C. XRD reveal a decrease in crystal size and crystallinity, while contact angle increases to 169° from 42°. The SEM observations clearly reflect a distinct decrease and separation of small domains of ES particles thus improving an increased surface area. Afterwards, the UES and TES particles were reinforced in epoxy at 15 and 20 weight (wt.) % loading. The tensile tests confirmed a 22% increase in elongation as compared to pure epoxy due to the hydrogen bonding between TES particles and matrix. The lowest brittleness was recorded for TES/epoxy composites on 20 wt % loading. The TGA confirmed the improved thermal stabilities at 20 wt % loading of TES particles in matrix, the improvements in T5%, T10%, and T20% values were recorded as 33, 26, and 21 °C higher than the corresponding values for neat matrix. The TES/epoxy composites on 20 wt % showed 41% increase in storage modulus as compared to the pristine epoxy, and cross-link density reaches to 2.71 × 10−3 from 1.29 × 10−3 mol/cm3 for neat matrix. The decline in tan δ height and improvement in Tg were also observed. The best adhesion effectiveness was recorded for TES/epoxy composites. Pr3+-doped Sr 0.5 La 0.5 Mg 0.5 Al 11.5 O 19 (ASL) crystal along 〈100〉 direction was successfully grown using the Czochralski technique under azote atmosphere. Absorption and emission spectra of Pr:ASL crystal have been measured at room temperature. Continuous-wave laser operation of the a-cut and c-cut Pr:ASL samples under InGaN laser diode pumping has been demonstrated. For deep red laser operation at about 726 nm, the maximum output powers achieved from a-cut sample was 92.8 mW with slope efficiency of about 11.9%, while 46.6 mW with slope efficiency of 8.0% for the c-cut sample. • The cationic peptide liposome can deliver IGF-1R-siRNA to inhibit tumor growth. • The liposome exhibited limited toxicity when used at normal dosages. • The study strengthens the use of peptide liposomes as a gene delivery vehicle. • The study correlated the lipid headgroup structures and toxicology. The toxicology of cationic liposomes was explored to advance clinical trials of liposome-mediated gene therapy through the analysis of a peptide cationic liposome with DOTAP as a positive control. We first investigated the delivery of luciferase siRNA by several peptide liposomes in mice bearing lung cancer A549 cell xenografts. Of these, a cationic liposome (CDO14) was selected for further investigation. CDO14 efficiently mediated IGF-1R-siRNA delivery and inhibited the growth of the A549 cell xenografts. The in vivo toxicity and toxicological mechanisms of the selected liposome were evaluated to assess its potential utility for gene delivery. Specifically, the effects of CDO14 on mouse body weight, hematology, urine, serum biochemical indices, and histopathology were measured in acute toxicity and subchronic toxicity tests. CDO14 showed limited toxicological effects at low dosages although it induced pulmonary inflammation and liver injury at higher dosages. The toxicity of CDO14 was lower than that of DOTAP, and the toxicity of CDO14 did not change when complexed with siRNA. The pulmonary inflammation induced by CDO14 occurred via expressional up-regulation of the pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6, and expressional down-regulation of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. Liver injury induced by CDO14 was mediated by the JAK2-STAT3 signaling pathway. Lastly, CDO14 did not affect the expression of apoptosis-related proteins in normal liver cells, suggesting that it did not induce apoptosis of normal cells. The toxicological results demonstrate that peptide-based headgroups in lipids are superior to those with quaternary ammonium headgroups that are used as gene vectors for cancer therapy. Moreover, bioinformatics analysis and luciferase reporter experiments indicated that SNHG6 serves as an endogenous sponge by directly binding to miR-26a-5p and down-regulating miR-26a-5p expression. MiR-26a-5p overexpression significantly enhanced the effect of SNHG6 knockdown on the cell behaviors in BC. Furthermore, bioinformatics analysis and luciferase reporter indicated that MAPK6 was validated as a target of miR-26a-5p. In the present study, we examined the effect of TP on healthy podocytes both in vitro and in vivo to better understand the action of TP on podocytes. We found that treatment of TP at 10 ng/ml, a concentration that is routinely used for podocyte protection, was sufficient to activate pro-apoptotic signaling of MAPK p38, p53 and BAX and induced apoptosis in cultured podocytes; and higher concentrations of TP exacerbated the p38, p53 and BAX activations and apoptosis. Moreover, TP severely downregulated the genes that are essential for podocyte structure and function. Interestingly, in contrast with other agents TP-induced podocyte injury was not prevented by glucocorticoids. In vivo , high-dose TP treatment for prolonged time did not cause podocyte injury, essential genes downregulation, and proteinuria in mice. TP was also not toxic to the podocytes with isolated glomeruli ex vivo. In summary, TP is toxic to immortalized podocytes in culture but not to the podocytes in animals or isolated glomeruli ex vivo. Our study suggests that immortalized podocytes might have genetically evolved to become sensitive to TP toxicity and thus caution should be taken in interpreting data from immortalized podocytes. Nevertheless, in vivo TP could be as safe as glucocorticoids in treating podocytopathies. Finally, TP may be used as a unique in vitro model for studying steroid-resistant podocytopathies. This study aims to investigate the role of Y 3+ ion on microstructure, optical transmittance, and thermal properties of CaF 2 transparent ceramics. Series of nanosized CaF 2 powders doped with different concentration of Y 3+ ion were synthesized by direct precipitation method. XRD, FSEM and TEM results demonstrated that the CaF 2 nanoparticles could be tuned in size through doping of Y 3+ ion. Corresponding CaF 2 transparent ceramics were fabricated by hot-pressed (HP) method. Compared with the undoped CaF 2 sample, the transmittance of the CaF 2 ceramics improved dramatically after doping with Y 3+ ions and reached above 80% at the wavelength of 1200 nm. The effects of Y 3+ ion on the microstructure and thermal properties of CaF 2 transparent ceramics were also investigated. Codon bias at the 5′ terminal of coding sequence (CDS) is known to be distinct from the rest of the CDS. A number of events occur in this short region to regulate early translation elongation and co-translational translocation. In the genes encoding secretory proteins, there is a special signal sequence which has a higher occurrence of rare codons. In this study, we analyzed codon bias of secretory genes in several eukaryotes. The results showed that secretory genes in the species except mammals had a higher occurrence of rare codons in the 5′ terminal of CDS, and the bias was greater than the same region of non-secretory genes. GO analysis revealed that secretory genes containing rare codon clusters in different regions were responsible for various roles in gene functions. Moreover, codon bias in the region encoding the hydrophobic region of protein is similar in secretory and non-secretory genes, indicating that codon bias in secretory genes was partly influenced by amino acid bias. Rare codon clusters are found more frequently in specific regions, and continuous rare codons are not favoured probably because they will increase the probability of ribosome collision and drop-off. Based on ribosome profiling data, there is no significant difference in the average translation efficiencies between rare and optimal codons. Higher ribosomal density in the 5′ terminal may result from ribosome pausing which could be involved in different translation events. These findings collectively provided rich information on codon bias in secretory genes, which may shed light on the co-effect of codon bias, mRNA structure and tRNA abundance in translational regulations. • Comprehensive failure analysis of X-10 brake disc was investigated. • The fatigue crack occurred at the root of the connecting claw. • The crack source was attributed to the graphite sheet exposed on the brake disc matrix. • The truth braking power and fatigue tests and finite element simulation were performed. • Suggestions to prevent fatigue failure of X-10 brake disc were provided. Some X-10 type brake discs for urban rail vehicles were examined by fluorescent magnetic particle inspection test, and the magnetic trace accumulation was observed at the root of the connecting claw of the brake discs. In this work, the causes of failure for the brake discs are analyzed and discussed. The chemical composition, metallographic structure, and mechanical property of the failure samples were characterized by means of X-ray energy dispersive spectrometry, metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscopy, and an electronic universal material-testing machine. At the same time, the stress and crack propagation states were analyzed by numerical simulation, braking dynamic and fatigue tests, respectively. Based on the fracture mechanics theory, the residual fatigue life was also predicted. The failure reason of the inner wall of brake disc was that the fatigue crack occurred at the root of the connecting claw of the brake disc body, and the crack source was taken from graphite sheets exposed on the surface of the grey cast iron matrix. The results of the numerical simulation showed that the larger thermal stress acted on the graphite sheets at the root of the connecting claw, and promoted the crack to expand along the path of the graphite sheets. The results of the braking force and fatigue tests showed that there was stability propagation of the crack. Finally, some suggestions and prevention for brake discs are provided. To investigate the boundary layer dynamics of the coastal megacity Shanghai, China, backscatter data measured by a Vaisala CL51 ceilometer are analyzed with a modified ideal curve fitting algorithm. The boundary layer height z i retrieved by this method and from radiosondes compare reasonably overall. Analyses of mobile and stationary ceilometer data provide spatial and temporal characteristics of Shanghai's boundary layer height. The consistency between when the ceilometer is moving and stationary highlights the potential of mobile observations of transects across cities. An analysis of 16 months of z i measured at the Fengxian site in Shanghai reveals that the diurnal variation of z i in the four seasons follows the expected pattern; for all seasons z i starts to increase at sunrise, reflecting the influence of solar radiation. However, the boundary layer height is generally higher in autumn and winter than in summer and spring (mean hourly averaged z i for days with low cloud fraction at 1100-1200 local time are 900, 654, 934, and 768 m for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, respectively). This is attributed to seasonal differences in the dominant meteorological conditions, including the effects of a sea breeze at the near-coastal Fengxian site. Given the success of the retrieval method, other ceilometers installed across Shanghai are now being analyzed to understand more about the spatial dynamics of z i and to investigate in more detail the effects of prevailing mesoscale circulations and their seasonal dynamics. It was noted that circadian components function in plant adaptation to diurnal temperature cycles and freezing tolerance. Our genome-wide transcriptome analysis revealed that evening-phased COR27 and COR28 mainly repress the transcription of clock-associated evening genes PRR5, ELF4 and cold-responsive genes. Chromatin immunoprecipitation indicated that CCA1 is recruited to the site containing EE elements of COR27 and COR28 promoters in a temperature-dependent way. Further genetic analysis shows COR28 is essential for the circadian function of PRR9 and PRR7. A new kind of polymeric chemosensor containing chiral phenylglycine and 1-phenethylamine moieties in the side chain was synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization, which can guarantee controllable molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution, and precise polymer structure. As a chemosensor, the resulting polymers showed UV–vis and fluorescence spectra changed upon addition of F − relative to other anions including Cl − , Br − , HSO 4 − , AcO − , NO 3 − , H 2 PO 4 − , and N 3 − . When F − was added at high concentrations, the polymer gave detectable color change from colorless to yellow, which was attributed to the deprotonation process of the acylamino N H group and the mechanism was supported by the 1 H NMR titration. Furthermore, the addition of F − also can lead to a most pronounced change of CD spectra of the chiral polymer, indicating this kind chiral sensor can also be used as a probe for selective recognition of F − based on CD spectra. Face gear dynamics is addressed by many scholars. However, dynamic behaviors of face gear drives associated with pinion dedendum fatigue cracks are yet to be investigated. Thus, in the study, a calculation solution of static transmission errors (STE) of face gear drives associated with pinion dedendum fatigue cracks is constructed, based on the proposed equivalent face gear drives, and a four-degree-of-freedom (DOF) dynamic model of face gear drives is formulated. The dynamic behaviors of an example case of face gear drives associated with pinion dedendum fatigue cracks are investigated. The simulation results indicate natural frequencies of face gear drives would be decreased with pinion dedendum fatigue crack extensions; the relationship between accelerations and velocities of face gear drives, dynamic mesh forces, and vibration accelerations at bearings would also be changed. However, pinion dedendum fatigue cracks of face gear drives are detected difficultly, due to simulation result similarities. Therefore, a determination solution for pinion dedendum fatigue cracks of face gear drives is proposed. The result shows a trend of vibration accelerations at bearings, namely, a first decreasing and then increasing tendency, which could be beneficial to detecting pinion dedendum fatigue cracks of face gear drives.
