Nowadays, the infantile library has changed very much, already they are not those rooms of decoration neutral full of shelves where books could be read. Both the aesthetics and the services that provide us have changed to turn into a space full of activities. The following article is a project of educational action that there tries to propose a new design for the infantile space of the library Pau Vila of Molins de rei. The new desing is creating from knowing the services that develop nowadays in an infantile library, the needs in relation to the reading motivation of the children and the description of the services that exists now into the library Pau Vila. To carry out this project there has been realized an research based on a mixed methodology; we have done four interviews to librarians, four to specialists of infantile education and a questionnaire to the users of the current library with a resultant sample of 46 persons of Molins de rei. The results obtained on the part of the experts and of the users, in contraposition to the one that exists in the current space, they demonstrate the lacks and inside the design of the new space they propose changes in the furniture, distribution of the space, organization of books, activities and setting.

A total of 103 root nodule isolates were utilized to assess the diversity of bacteria nodulating Lotus tenuis in typical soils of the Salado River Basin. The high levels of conservation of the nodC and nifH genes in Lotus symbionts indicated that both intrageneric horizontal gene transfer and intergeneric horizontal gene transfer are significant mechanisms for the spread for symbiotic capacity in the Salado River Basin.

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2013-07-01 Delta Dental Foundation of Michigan Rackham Graduate Fund Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess restorative treatment outcomes in the mixed dentition of amelogenesis imperfecta (Al) patients and determine the postrehabilitation oral health status and satisfaction of the patients. Methods: Clinical and radiographic examinations were performed on eight Al patients, who had 74 restorations placed in permanent incisors and molars, to allow evaluation of the integrity of the restorations and periodontal status post-treatment. Subjects completed a survey regarding esthetics, function, and sensitivity Results: Among the 74 restorations evaluated, seven were lost; of the remaining restorations, 31 were posterior, and 36 were anterior. Ten were rated clinically unacceptable. Teeth with stainless steel crowns had a moderate gingival index (mean=2.3) and plaque index (mean=2.0) scores. Widening of the periodontal ligament and pulp canal obliteration were common radiographic findings. Subject's recall of satisfaction regarding esthetics (P=.002) and sensitivity (brushing-P=.03; eating-P=.01) showed a statically significant difference before and after treatment. Conclusions: During mixed dentition, teeth with amelogenesis imperfecta may be restored with conventional treatment modalities. Direct restorations should be considered interim with multiple repairs anticipated. Post-treatment, gingival inflammation and plaque accumulation were observed. Subjects were satisfied with their appearance and reported a decrease of hypersensitivity. Agricultural expansion to areas traditionally devoted to animal production in the Argentinean Pampas generates the need to increase forage production in restrictive environments and conditions. In order to improve pasture productivity, Lotus tenuis (=L. glaber Mill.) germplasm was collected, characterized and selected. L. tenuis is a perennial legume naturalized in saline-alkaline lowlands in the Salado River Basin, highly valuable because of its contribution to forage offer in the region and its influence on growth of associated species. For this reason, L. tenuis is considered as a “Keystone species”. Taking into account that L. tenuis is alogamous, it can be supposed that during naturalization, diverse ecotypes have developed different aptitudes to tolerate stress conditions typical of the region, including soil alkalinity and salinity, flooding and summer droughts, among others. In order to select for tolerant materials and to better understand the mechanisms involved in the response to salinity, different L. tenuis accessions were exposed to salinity under controlled conditions. Stress responses of the model species L. japonicus, Lotus burtii and Lotus filicaulis were also evaluated. Growth parameters, osmolites, ion (Na+, K+ and Ca++) and polyamine levels (Cuevas et al., 2004; Sanchez et al., 2005) were determined. L. tenuis and L. corniculatus transgenic lines harboring the oat arginine decarboxylase gene (coding for a key enzyme involved in polyamine biosynthesis) under the control of the stress inducible promoter RD29A have been obtained (Chieza et al., 2004) and their response to salinity is under evaluation at the present. In addition, the biodiversity of symbiotic microorganisms (rhizobia and vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi) associated to L. tenuis has been studied and the influence of these organisms on salt stress tolerance will be discussed (Estrella et al., 2007; Echeverría et al., 2006; Sannazzaro et al., 2004, 2006, 2007).
