15. Dynamic distribution of linker histone H1.5 in cellular differentiation.

Abstract

Linker histones are essential components of chromatin, but the distributions and functions of many during cellular differentiation are not well understood. Here, we show that H1.5 binds to genic and intergenic regions, forming blocks of enrichment, in differentiated human cells from all three embryonic germ layers but not in embryonic stem cells. In differentiated cells, H1.5, but not H1.3, binds preferentially to genes that encode membrane and membrane-related proteins. Strikingly, 37% of H1.5 target genes belong to gene family clusters, groups of homologous genes that are located in proximity to each other on chromosomes. H1.5 binding is associated with gene repression and is required for SIRT1 binding, H3K9me2 enrichment, and chromatin compaction. Depletion of H1.5 results in loss of SIRT1 and H3K9me2, increased chromatin accessibility, deregulation of gene expression, and decreased cell growth. Our data reveal for the first time a specific and novel function for linker histone subtype H1.5 in maintenance of condensed chromatin at defined gene families in differentiated human cells.

Abstract

Photocatalytic hydrogen (H2) production coupled with selective oxidation of organic compounds into high-value-added organic intermediates has expansive prospects in the utilization and transformation of solar energy, which meets the development requirements of green chemistry. In this work, high-efficiency hole cocatalyst PdS-decorated In2S3flower-like microspheres are fabricated for the effective visible-light-driven C–N coupling of amines to imines coupled with H2evolution. Owing to the establishment of the internal electric field, which further boosts the transfer of photoexcited holes to PdS, PdS–In2S3exhibits distinctly enhanced photocatalytic redox performance, which is 39.8 times higher for H2and 14.3 times higher for N-benzylidenebenzylamine than that of the blank In2S3, along with high selectivity and stability. Furthermore, the practicability of dehydrogenation coupling of various aromatic amines to the corresponding C–N coupling products on PdS–In2S3has been demonstrated and a plausible reaction mechanism has been proposed. This work is anticipated to stimulate further interest in establishing an innovative photoredox platform for selective organic synthesis coupled with H2evolution in a green and sustainable way.Keywords: In2S3; Photoredox dual reaction; Hydrogen evolution; Visible light; Hole cocatalyst.

Abstract

A water source vulnerability assessment index system based on the driving force-pressure-state- impact-response-management (DPSIRM) model is established, comprehensively considering the economy, society, resources, environment, ecology and other influencing factors of urban water resources in plateau basins. The entropy method is used to weight each evaluation index, and the set pair analysis and obstacle degree model is used to evaluate the water resources vulnerability of the Yunlong Reservoir water resources in Kunming from 2014 to 2019.The results show that the vulnerability of Yunlong Reservoir's water resource was strongly vulnerable in 2014, and moderately vulnerable from 2015 to 2019. The confidence value of its middle-level vulnerability has been increasing year by year, and the vulnerability of water resources has gradually decreased, indicating that the implemented water resources management policies have achieved results. Judging from the diagnosis results of the obstacles in the various subsystems of the evaluation model, the pressure, status, and influence subsystems' obstacles played a dominant role from 2014 to 2015, the influence and response subsystem played a leading role from 2016 to 2018, and the pressure and influence subsystem played a leading role in 2019, and subsystem obstacles have a greater impact. It is suggested that the sound development of water resources security should be promoted from the perspective of the system theory, the water quality management and control of water source areas should be strengthened, and the comprehensive development and governance of water resources should be strengthened. Montmorillonite is a layered aluminosilicate mineral and is a natural nanostructured material. At present, montmorillonite is widely used in polymer composites. With cation exchange, water absorption, dispersion and other functions are widely used. However, the surface polarity of montmorillonite is large and the compatibility with the polymer is poor, so it needs to be modified to be better dispersed in the polymer matrix. In this paper, the methods of organic modified montmorillonite and the adsorption properties of modified montmorillonite are discussed.
