Background: Gastric cancer (GC) remains a leading cause of cancer mortality globally. Synaptotagmin-4 (SYT4), a calcium-sensing synaptic vesicle protein, has been implicated in the oncogenesis of diverse malignancies. Purpose: This study delineates the role of SYT4 in modulating clinical outcomes and biological behaviors in GC. Methods: We evaluated SYT4 expression in GC specimens using bioinformatics analyses and immunohistochemistry. Functional assays included CCK8 proliferation tests, apoptosis assays via flow cytometry, confocal calcium imaging, and xenograft models. Western blotting elucidated MAPK pathway involvement. Additionally, we investigated the impact of the calcium channel blocker amlodipine on cellular dynamics and MAPK pathway activity. Results: SYT4 was higher in GC tissues, and the elevated SYT4 was significantly correlated with adverse prognosis. Both univariate and multivariate analyses confirmed SYT4 as an independent prognostic indicator for GC. Functionally, SYT4 promoted tumorigenesis by fostering cellular proliferation, inhibiting apoptosis, and enhancing intracellular Ca2+ influx, predominantly via MAPK pathway activation. Amlodipine pre-treatment attenuated SYT4-driven cell growth and potentiated apoptosis, corroborated by in vivo xenograft assessments. These effects were attributed to MAPK pathway suppression by amlodipine. Conclusion: SYT4 emerges as a potential prognostic biomarker and a pro-oncogenic mediator in GC through a Ca2+-dependent MAPK mechanism. Amlodipine demonstrates significant antitumor effects against SYT4-driven GC, positing its therapeutic promise. Objectives: The increasing prevalence of severe Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (SMPP) poses a significant threat to the health of children. This study aimed to characterise and assess the outcomes in children with SMPP. Methods: We retrospectively analysed children hospitalised for M. pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) between January and December 2022. Retrospectively, demographic, clinical, underlying diseases, laboratory and radiological findings, and treatment outcomes were collected and analysed. Disease severity was defined as severe or general according to the Guideline for diagnosis and treatment of community-acquired pneumonia in children (2019 version). Results: Over a 12-month observation period, 417 children with MPP were enrolled, 50.6% (211/417) of whom had SMPP, with the peak incidence observed in winter. Of the 211 children with SMPP, 210 were treated and discharged with improvement, while one child with congenital heart disease died of cardioembolic stroke. A significantly higher proportion of patients with SMPP had underlying diseases, extrapulmonary complications (myocardial and digestive system involvement), and bacterial co-infection. A total of 25 (12%) children with SMPP received mechanical ventilation. The median duration of mechanical ventilation was 3 days. All children were treated with macrolide antibiotic. A significantly higher proportion of patients with SMPP received antibiotic other than macrolides, methylprednisolone sodium succinate, intravenous immunoglobulin and anticoagulation, compared with patients with general MPP (GMPP). Children with SMPP had significantly higher levels of white blood cells, neutrophil percentage, C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, interferon-γ, interleukin (IL)-2, IL-5, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10 and significantly lower percentages of lymphocytes, monocytes, and natural killer cells, compared with GMPP group. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that severely ill children have more pronounced inflammatory reaction and extrapulmonary complications. For effective management of children with SMPP, hormonal, prophylactic, anticoagulant therapy, as well as the use of antibiotics other than macrolides for bacterial co-infections, could be incorporated into treatment regimens. After exposure to cold stress, animals enhance the production of beige adipocytes and expedite thermogenesis, leading to improved metabolic health. Although brown adipose tissue in rodents is primarily induced by β3-adrenergic receptor (ADRB3) stimulation, the activation of major β-adrenergic receptors (ADRBs) in pigs has been a topic of debate. To address this, we developed overexpression vectors for ADRB1, ADRB2, and ADRB3 and silenced the expression of these receptors to observe their effects on the adipogenic differentiation stages of porcine preadipocytes. Our investigation revealed that cold stress triggers the transformation of subcutaneous white adipose tissue to beige adipose tissue in pigs by modulating adrenergic receptor levels. Meanwhile, we found that ADRB3 promotes the transformation of white adipocytes into beige adipocytes. Notably, ADRB3 enhances the expression of beige adipose tissue marker genes, consequently influencing cellular respiration and metabolism by regulating lipolysis and mitochondrial expression. Background: Accurate microsatellite instability (MSI) testing is essential for identifying gastric cancer (GC) patients eligible for immunotherapy. We aimed to develop and validate a CT-based radiomics signature to predict MSI and immunotherapy outcomes in GC. Methods: This retrospective multicohort study included a total of 457 GC patients from two independent medical centers in China and The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) databases. The primary cohort (n = 201, center 1, 2017–2022), was used for signature development via Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) and logistic regression analysis. Two independent immunotherapy cohorts, one from center 1 (n = 184, 2018–2021) and another from center 2 (n = 43, 2020–2021), were utilized to assess the signature's association with immunotherapy response and survival. Diagnostic efficiency was evaluated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), and survival outcomes were analyzed via the Kaplan-Meier method. The TCIA cohort (n = 29) was included to evaluate the immune infiltration landscape of the radiomics signature subgroups using both CT images and mRNA sequencing data. Results: Nine radiomics features were identified for signature development, exhibiting excellent discriminative performance in both the training (AUC: 0.851, 95%CI: 0.782, 0.919) and validation cohorts (AUC: 0.816, 95%CI: 0.706, 0.926). The radscore, calculated using the signature, demonstrated strong predictive abilities for objective response in immunotherapy cohorts (AUC: 0.734, 95%CI: 0.662, 0.806; AUC: 0.724, 95%CI: 0.572, 0.877). Additionally, the radscore showed a significant association with PFS and OS, with GC patients with a low radscore experiencing a significant survival benefit from immunotherapy. Immune infiltration analysis revealed significantly higher levels of CD8 + T cells, activated CD4 + B cells, and TNFRSF18 expression in the low radscore group, while the high radscore group exhibited higher levels of T cells regulatory and HHLA2 expression. Conclusion: This study developed a robust radiomics signature with the potential to serve as a non-invasive biomarker for GC's MSI status and immunotherapy response, demonstrating notable links to post-immunotherapy PFS and OS. Background: Following China's official designation as malaria-free country by WHO, the imported malaria has emerged as a significant determinant impacting the malaria reestablishment within China. The objective of this study is to explore the application prospects of machine learning algorithms in imported malaria risk assessment of China. Methods: The data of imported malaria cases in China from 2011 to 2019 was provided by China CDC; historical epidemic data of malaria endemic country was obtained from World Malaria Report, and the other data used in this study are open access data. All the data processing and model construction based on R, and map visualization used ArcGIS software. Results: A total of 27,088 malaria cases imported into China from 85 countries between 2011 and 2019. After data preprocessing and classification, clean dataset has 765 rows (85 * 9) and 11 cols. Six machine learning models was constructed based on the training set, and Random Forest model demonstrated the best performance in model evaluation. According to RF, the highest feature importance were the number of malaria deaths and Indigenous malaria cases. The RF model demonstrated high accuracy in forecasting risk for the year 2019, achieving commendable accuracy rate of 95.3%. This result aligns well with the observed outcomes, indicating the model's reliability in predicting risk levels. Conclusions: Machine learning algorithms have reliable application prospects in risk assessment of imported malaria in China. Background: To investigate the differences in bacterial and fungal community structure and diversity in conjunctival tissue of healthy and diabetic mice. Methods: RNA-seq assays and high-throughput sequencing of bacterial 16 S rDNA and fungal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) gene sequences were used to identify differentially expressed host genes and fungal composition profiles in conjunctival tissues of diabetic BKS-db/db mice and BKS (control) mice. Functional enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes and the correlation between the relative abundance of bacterial and fungal taxa in the intestinal mucosa were also performed. Results: Totally, 449 differential up-regulated genes and 1,006 down-regulated genes were identified in the conjunctival tissues of diabetic mice. The differentially expressed genes were mainly enriched in metabolism-related functions and pathways. A decrease in conjunctival bacterial species diversity and abundance in diabetic mice compared to control mice. In contrast, fungal species richness and diversity were not affected by diabetes. The microbial colonies were mainly associated with cellular process pathways regulating carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, as well as cell growth and death. Additionally, some interactions between bacteria and fungi at different taxonomic levels were also observed. Conclusion: The present study revealed significant differences in the abundance and composition of bacterial and fungal communities in the conjunctival tissue of diabetic mice compared to control mice. The study also highlighted interactions between bacteria and fungi at different taxonomic levels. These findings may have implications for the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes. Background: In this retrospective study, we aimed to evaluate the factors associated with the severity of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) bronchiolitis in children aged under 2 years who were admitted to the Children's Hospital of Hebei between June 2018 and January 2019. Methods: Sputum samples positive for RSV via multiplex PCR were subtyped using real-time PCR. Data collected included risk factors for disease severity, demographics, microbiology, and outcomes. Results: Of the 82 children with RSV bronchiolitis, 79 were treated and discharged with improvement, while 3 died. All three patients had underlying medical conditions, including complex congenital heart disease and severe combined immunodeficiency. Further, disease severity was associated with preexisting underlying disease, fever duration, and bacterial co-infection, but not with the RSV subtype. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that an appropriate therapeutic regimen should include the detection of bacterial co-infections and the identification of underlying diseases for the effective management of severe RSV bronchiolitis. PVC plastic products are common combustible substances seen in fires, but their thermal degradation behavior under different oxygen concentrations has not been adequately studied. The thermal degradation behavior of PVC materials in atmospheres with different oxygen concentrations was analyzed via thermogravimetric–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (TG-FTIR). The TG results show that the thermal degradation process of PVC under a non-oxygenated atmosphere occurred in two stages, and the activation energies of the two stages were 130–175 KJ mol−1 and 230–320 KJ mol−1, respectively; under the oxygenated atmosphere, the thermal degradation process occurred in three stages. The activation energies of the three stages were 130–175 KJ mol−1, 145–510 KJ mol−1 and 75–190 KJ mol−1, respectively. And the reaction mechanism of the second stage of thermal degradation was changed from D-ZLT3 to En by the higher oxygen concentration. Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to analyze the pyrolysis process of PVC in the non-oxygenated atmosphere, and the eight major components were as follows, in descending order according to amount released: C-H stretching > HCl > C-Cl stretching > H2O > CO2 > C-H bending > C-H aliphatic bending > CH2. For the reaction of PVC at an oxygen concentration of 7%, the nine major components, in descending order according to amount released, were as follows: CO2 > HCl > H2O > CO > C-H stretching > C-Cl stretching > C-H aliphatic bending > C-H bending > CH2. For PVC reactions at oxygen concentrations of 14% and 21%, the five major components, in descending order according to amount released, were CO2 > HCl > CO > C-Cl stretching > H2O. Rapid and sensitive detection of free bilirubin (BR) is essential for early diagnosis of jaundice and other hepatobiliary diseases. Inspired by sandwich immunoassay strategy, a multi-dimensional plasmonic coupling SERS platform composed of graphene oxide-Au nanostars nanocomposites (GANS NCs) and Au@Ag nanoparticles (NPs) was designed for label-free detection of BR. Specifically, GANS NCs were first prepared, and their excellent SERS activity was ascribed to synergistic enhancement effect of electromagnetic enhancement and chemical enhancement. Furthermore, SERS spectroscopy was used to monitor the adsorption process of BR. Subsequently, secondary reinforcing Au@Ag NPs were directly added, ultimately resulting in a multi-dimensional plasmonic coupling effect. The SERS enhancing mechanism of coupled system was discussed through electromagnetic field simulations. Interestingly, the high-density hotspots generated by strong plasmonic coupling in GANS-Au@Ag substrate could lead to more extraordinary SERS enhancing behavior compared to GANS NCs. Sensing efficiency of the SERS platform was examined by BR with a detection limit down to 10−11 M. Besides, GANS-Au@Ag NCs performed high uniformity and reproducibility. In this study, rice- R. solani interaction model was used to explore whether pathogen effector proteins affect plant sugar absorption during infection. Yeast one-hybrid assay was used to identify Activator of SWEET2a (AOS2) from R. solani. Localization and invertase secretion assays showed that nuclear localization and secreted function of AOS2. Hexose transport assays verified the hexose transporter activity of SWEET2a and SWEET3a. Yeast two-hybrid assays, Bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC) and transactivation assay were conducted to verify the AOS2-WRKY53-Grassy tiller 1 (GT1) transcriptional complex and its activation of SWEET2a and SWEET3a. Genetic analysis is used to detect the response of GT1 , WRKY53 , SWEET2a , and SWEET3a to ShB infestation. Also, the soluble sugar contents were measured in the mutants and overexpression plants before and after the inoculation of R. solani. The present study found that R. solani protein AOS2 activates rice SWEET2a and localized in the nucleus of tobacco cells and secreted in yeast. AOS2 interacts with rice transcription factor WRKY53 and GT1 to form a complex that activates the hexose transporter gene SWEET2a and SWEET3a and negatively regulate rice resistance to ShB. These data collectively suggest that AOS2 secreted by R. solani interacts with rice WRKY53 and GT1 to form a transcriptional complex that activates SWEETs to efflux sugars to apoplast; R. solani acquires more sugars and subsequently accelerates host invasion. Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify the risk factors for admission deep venous thrombosis (aDVT) and proximal aDVT in nonagenarians and centenarians with intertrochanteric fracture (IF). Methods: We collected statistics on nonagenarians and centenarians with IF admitting from January 2010 to October 2022. Patients with aDVT were considered as the aDVT group and those without aDVT as the non-aDVT group. Additionally, we also conducted a subgroup analysis based on the location of aDVT to investigate the predictors of proximal aDVT. The demographics, comorbidities and admission laboratory examinations of patients were computed by univariate analysis, logistic regression analysis, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results: In our study, the rate of aDVT (109 of 318) was 34.3%, and 5.7% (18 of 318) of patients had proximal aDVT. Logistic regression analysis showed that female patients and a high level of D-dimer were risk factors for aDVT. Similarly, hypoproteinemia and a high level of D-dimer were found to be risk factors for proximal aDVT. ROC curve analysis indicated the cut-off values of D-dimer to predict the aDVT and proximal aDVT were 1.28 mg/L and 1.485 mg/L, respectively. Conclusions: Our findings investigated the risk factors of aDVT and proximal aDVT in nonagenarians and centenarians with IF and identified the cut-off values of D-dimer, helping us assess the risk of aDVT and proximal aDVT to manage early targeted interventions. The effect of different pedestrian densities (0.2, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 4.6 persons/m2) on a pedestrian bridge is studied, the comfort level is evaluated according to the acceleration peak, and the most sensitive part of the acceleration response employs tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for vibration control. The study shows that the bearing capacity level of the pedestrian bridge with articulated piers meets the standard. Compared with a pier rigid connection system, the structural dynamic characteristics of pier articulation do not change much, and the vertical frequency and peak acceleration in the span are slightly smaller. The comfort evaluation results of the bridge with articulated piers are the same as those of the bridge with a rigid pier. The TMD setting can effectively reduce the human-induced vibration time response, the vibration reduction efficiency can reach 52%, and the comfort level changes from CL2 to CL1 after vibration reduction. Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with HER2 mutation has entered into the era of targeted therapy. However, both anti-HER2 antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) showed moderate objective response rate (ORR) and median progression-free survival (PFS). The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular features of responders to pyrotinib in advanced NSCLC with HER2 mutation. Methods: Patients from our two previous phase II trials were pooled analyzed. Their circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) were detected by next-generation sequencing (NGS) panels, and the correlation with the efficacy of pyrotinib was investigated. Results: This pooled analysis included 75 patients, and 50 of them with baseline plasma samples were finally enrolled with a median age of 57 years old. The overall ORR and median PFS were 28% and 7.0 months respectively. Biomarker analysis showed that 5 patients were ctDNA nonshedding. Patients with TP53 wild type were significantly associated with higher disease control rate (97.1%vs. 68.8%, p = 0.010), PFS (median 8.4 vs. 2.8 months, p = 0.001) and overall survival (OS, median 26.7 vs. 10.4 months, p < 0.001) than those with mutations. ctDNA of nonshedding and clearance exhibited significantly longer PFS (median: 10.2 vs. 9.8 vs. 5.6 months, p = 0.036) and a trend of longer OS (median: 35.3 vs. 18.1 vs. 14.6 months, p = 0.357) than those not. Conclusion: Patients with TP53 wild type, ctDNA nonshedding, or clearance showed superior efficacy of pyrotinib in patients with HER2-mutated advanced NSCLC, which might be helpful to guide the utility of pyrotinib in clinical setting. Summary: Brown planthopper (BPH, Nilaparvata lugens), a highly destructive insect pest, poses a serious threat to rice (Oryza sativa) production worldwide. Jasmonates are key phytohormones that regulate plant defences against BPH; however, the molecular link between jasmonates and BPH responses in rice remains largely unknown. Here, we discovered a Poaceae‐specific metabolite, mixed‐linkage β‐1,3;1,4‐d‐glucan (MLG), which contributes to jasmonate‐mediated BPH resistance. MLG levels in rice significantly increased upon BPH attack. Overexpressing OsCslF6, which encodes a glucan synthase that catalyses MLG biosynthesis, significantly enhanced BPH resistance and cell wall thickness in vascular bundles, whereas knockout of OsCslF6 reduced BPH resistance and vascular wall thickness. OsMYC2, a master transcription factor of jasmonate signalling, directly controlled the upregulation of OsCslF6 in response to BPH feeding. The AT‐rich domain of the OsCslF6 promoter varies in rice varieties from different locations and natural variants in this domain were associated with BPH resistance. MLG‐derived oligosaccharides bound to the plasma membrane‐anchored LECTIN RECEPTOR KINASE1 OsLecRK1 and modulated its activity. Thus, our findings suggest that the OsMYC2‐OsCslF6 module regulates pest resistance by modulating MLG production to enhance vascular wall thickness and OsLecRK1‐mediated defence signalling during rice‐BPH interactions. The mechanical properties of laser powder bed fused (LPBFed) Invar 36 alloy have been limited by the presence of manufacturing defects. It is imperative to investigate the influence of these defects on the mechanical behavior of LPBFed Invar 36 alloy. In this study, in-situ X-ray computed tomography (XCT) tests were conducted on LPBFed Invar 36 alloy fabricated at different scanning speeds to examine the relationship between manufacturing defects and mechanical behavior. For LPBFed Invar 36 alloy fabricated at a scanning speed of 400 mm/s, the manufacturing defects were randomly distributed and tended to be elliptical in shape. Plastic deformation behavior was observed, and failure initiated from defects inside the material resulting in ductile failure. Conversely, for LPBFed Invar 36 alloy fabricated at a scanning speed of 1000 mm/s, numerous lamellar defects were observed mainly located between deposition layers, and their quantity was significantly increased. Little plastic deformation behavior was observed, and failure initiated from defects on the shallow surface of the material resulting in brittle failure. Landslide identification in alpine and canyon areas is difficult due to the terrain limitations. The main objective of this research was to explore the method of combining small baseline subset interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SBAS-InSAR), multi-temporal optical images and field surveys to identify potential landslides in the human-modified alpine and canyon area of the Niulan River in southwestern China based on terrain visibility analysis. The visibility of the terrain is analyzed using the different incident and heading angles of the Sentinel satellite's ascending and descending orbits. Based on the SAR image data of Sentinel-1A satellites from 2016 to 2019, the SBAS-InSAR method was used to identify landslides, and then multi-temporal optical images were used to facilitate landslide identification. Field surveys were carried out to verify the identification accuracy. A total of 28 landslides were identified, including 13 indicated by SBAS-InSAR, 8 by optical imaging and 7 by field investigation. Many landslides were induced by the impoundment and fluctuation of reservoir water. The comparison and verification of typical landslide monitoring data and reservoir water fluctuations revealed that a sudden drop of reservoir water had a great influence on landslide stability. These research results can facilitate a comprehensive understanding of landslide distribution in the reservoir area and guide the follow-up landslide risk management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has attracted extensive attention as an ultrasensitive detection method. However, the poor biocompatibility and expensive synthesis cost of noble metal SERS substrates have become non-negligible factors that limit the development of SERS technology. Metal chalcogenide semiconductors as an alternative to noble metal SERS substrates can avoid these disadvantages, but the enhancement effect is lower than that of noble metal substrates. Here, we report a method to co-modify MoS 2 by Ni and O, which improves the carrier concentration and mobility of MoS 2. The SERS effect of the modified MoS 2 is comparable to that of noble metals. We found that the improved SERS performance of MoS 2 can be attributed to the following two factors: strong interfacial dipole–dipole interaction and efficient charge transfer effect. During the doping process, the incorporation of Ni and O enhances the polarity and carrier concentration of MoS 2 , enhances the interfacial interaction of MoS 2 , and provides a basis for charge transfer. During the annealing process, the introduction of O atoms into the S defects reduces the internal defects of doped MoS 2 , improves the carrier mobility, and promotes the efficient charge transfer effect of MoS 2. In this work, a novel surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sandwich strategy biosensing platform has been established for simultaneously detecting Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -Au nanocomposites (NCs) with varying amounts of Au nanocrystals were prepared, and the effect of interparticle gaps on SERS activity was studied by finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The optimal magnetic SERS-active substrates (FS-A5) were functionalized with the specific aptamers to act as capture probes. Meanwhile, graphene oxide-Au nanostars (GO-Au NSs) decorated with Raman reporters and aptamers were used as SERS tags. The loading density of Au NSs on GO was tuned to change the number of SERS active sites. In this proposal, E. coli and S. aureus were first captured by capture probes and then bound with SERS tags to form a sandwich-like structure, which caused enhanced electromagnetic field because of the dual enhancement strategy. Under optimal conditions, SERS platform could detect E. coli and S. aureus simultaneously, and the detection limit was as low as 10 cfu/mL. Simple Summary: Breast cancer is a disease that begins in the cells of the breast. Although it is most common in women, it can also occur in men, though this is rare. Early detection and treatment are crucial to improving outcomes and survival rates. Risk factors include age, family history, certain gene mutations, prior history of breast cancer, exposure to estrogen, and lifestyle habits like alcohol consumption and inactivity. Symptoms include changes in the skin on the breast, such as dimpling, lumps or thickening, changes in size or shape, and discharge from the nipple. Diagnosis is often made through a clinical breast exam, mammogram, biopsy, and possibly additional imaging tests. Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, and targeted therapy. The choice of treatment method depends on the stage and characteristics of cancer. Breast cancer is considered the solid tumor most sensitive to chemotherapy. However, it can become resistant to various chemotherapeutic drugs, including doxorubicin, which triggers cell death by intercalation between DNA bases, free radical formation, and topoisomerase II inhibition. When drug resistance develops, several miRNAs are dysregulated, suggesting that miRNAs may play a significant role in resistance formation. In the current study, we investigated how doxorubicin sensitivity of breast cancer cells is affected by miR-153-3p and its target gene. The MTT method was used to determine the chemo-sensitizing effect of miR-153-3p on doxorubicin in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines. Results of Western blot and dual luciferase confirmed that miR-153-3p targets KIF20A and decreases its expression. Transwell and flow cytometry experiments showed that miR-153-3p and doxorubicin together had higher effects on MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, as well as increasing apoptosis and arresting cells in the G1 phase. Proteins related to apoptosis and the cell cycle exhibited the same tendency. Intracellular vesicle formation was inhibited and RAB26 was also downregulated by treatment with miR-153-3p alone or in combination with doxorubicin. Doxorubicin's ability to suppress tumors may be enhanced by miR-153-3p, according to in vivo studies. According to our findings, miR-153-3p has a direct effect on KIF20A and may regulate the formation of intracellular vesicles, which in turn makes breast cancer cells more susceptible to doxorubicin. Cell fate specification is essential for every major event of embryogenesis, and subsequent cell maturation ensures individual cell types acquire specialized functions. The mechanisms that regulate cell fate specification have been studied exhaustively, and each technological advance in developmental biology ushers in a new era of studies aimed at uncovering the most fundamental processes by which cells acquire unique identities. What is less appreciated is that mechanisms are in place to ensure cell identity is maintained throughout the life of the organism. The body wall musculature in the Drosophila embryo is a well-established model to study cell fate specification, as each hemisegment in the embryo generates and maintains thirty muscles with distinct identities. Once specified, the thirty body wall muscles fuse with mononucleate muscle precursors that lack a specific identity to form multinucleate striated muscles. Multinucleate body wall muscles do not fuse with each other, which maintains a diversification of muscle cell identities. Background: Surgical site infection (SSI) is one of the most common complications of orthopedic surgery, which can result in fever, pain, and even life-threatening sepsis. This study aimed to determine the predictors of SSI after fasciotomy in patients with acute leg compartment syndrome (ALCS). Methods: We collected information on 125 ALCS patients who underwent fasciotomy in two hospitals between November 2013 and January 2021. Patients with SSI were considered as the SSI group and those without SSI as the non-SSI group. Univariate analysis, logistic regression analysis, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analyses were used to evaluate patient demographics, comorbidities, and admission laboratory examinations. Results: In our research, the rate of SSI (26 of 125) was 20.8%. Several predictors of SSI were found using univariate analysis, including body mass index (BMI) (p = 0.001), patients with open fractures (p = 0.003), and patients with a history of smoking (p = 0.004). Besides, the levels of neutrophil (p = 0.022), glucose (p = 0.041), globulin (p = 0.010), and total carbon dioxide were higher in the SSI group than in the non-SSI group. According to the results of the logistic regression analysis, patients with open fractures (p = 0.023, OR 3.714), patients with a history of smoking (p = 0.010, OR 4.185), and patients with a higher BMI (p = 0.014, OR 1.209) were related predictors of SSI. Furthermore, ROC curve analysis indicated 24.69 kg/m2 as the cut-off value of BMI to predict SSI. Conclusions: Our results revealed open fractures, BMI, and smoking history as independent risk factors for SSI following fasciotomy in patients with ALCS and determined the cut-off value of BMI, enabling us to individualize the evaluation of the risk for SSI to implement early targeted treatments. In few-shot learning, the learned model can easily become over-fitted based on the biased distribution formed by only a few training examples, while the ground-truth data distribution is more accurately uncovered in many-shot learning to learn a well-generalized model. In this paper, we propose to calibrate the distribution of these few-sample classes to be more unbiased to alleviate such an over-fitting problem. The distribution calibration is achieved by transferring statistics from the classes with sufficient examples to those few-sample classes. After calibration, an adequate number of examples can be sampled from the calibrated distribution to expand the inputs to the classifier. Specifically, we assume every dimension in the feature representation from the same class follows a Gaussian distribution so that the mean and the variance of the distribution can borrow from that of similar classes whose statistics are better estimated with an adequate number of samples. Extensive experiments on three datasets, miniImageNet, tieredImageNet, and CUB, show that a simple linear classifier trained using the features sampled from our calibrated distribution can outperform the state-of-the-art accuracy by a large margin. Besides the favorable performance, the proposed method also exhibits high flexibility by showing consistent accuracy improvement when it is built on top of any off-the-shelf pretrained feature extractors and classification models without extra learnable parameters. The visualization of these generated features demonstrates that our calibrated distribution is an accurate estimation thus the generalization ability gain is convincing. We also establish a generalization error bound for the proposed distribution-calibration-based few-shot learning, which consists of the distribution assumption error, the distribution approximation error, and the estimation error. Background: Thrombocytopenia has long been considered an important complication of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which severely limits the effectiveness of cancer treatment and the overall survival of patients. However, clinical treatment options are extremely limited so far. Ruxolitinib is a potential candidate. Methods: The impact of ruxolitinib on the differentiation and maturation of K562 and Meg-01 cells megakaryocytes (MKs) was examined by flow cytometry, Giemsa and Phalloidin staining. A mouse model of radiation-injured thrombocytopenia (RIT) was employed to evaluate the action of ruxolitinib on thrombocytopoiesis. Network pharmacology, molecular docking, drug affinity responsive target stability assay (DARTS), RNA sequencing, protein blotting and immunofluorescence analysis were applied to explore the targets and mechanisms of action of ruxolitinib. Results: Ruxolitinib can stimulate MK differentiation and maturation in a dose-dependent manner and accelerates recovery of MKs and thrombocytopoiesis in RIT mice. Biological targeting analysis showed that ruxolitinib binds directly to Toll Like Receptor 2 (TLR2) to activate Rac1/cdc42/JNK, and this action was shown to be blocked by C29, a specific inhibitor of TLR2. Conclusions: Ruxolitinib was first identified to facilitate MK differentiation and thrombocytopoiesis, which may alleviate RIT. This paper investigated the influence of surface internal energy instability caused by the gravitational tilt angle on solutocapillary convection. The results showed that the spatio-temporal evolution of solutocapillary convection in a non-axisymmetric liquid bridge was divided into three stages under different gravitational tilt angles, "the initiating stage near the upper corner", "development to the intermediate height", and "shrinking toward the bottom corner". The non-equilibrium of the left or right interface curvature caused by internal energy instability promotes the distortion of the cell flow structure. The concentration gradient on the far-earth side increases first, due to the gravitational tilt angle. With the increasing gravitational tilt angle, the lateral extension of the cell flow is inhibited. The transverse/longitudinal velocity components are suppressed; however, the velocity gradient near the boundary is increased, and the uniformity of the velocity distribution in the center of the liquid bridge is improved. The axial component of the Bond number decreases in a small range (Bo′ = 1→0.98) with the internal energy instability, however, which has a significant effect on surface flow. Robotic systems have emerged in dental implant surgery due to their accuracy. Autonomous robotic surgery may offer unprecedented advantages over conventional alternatives. This clinical protocol was used to show the feasibility of autonomous robotic surgery for immediately loaded implant-supported full-arch prostheses in the maxilla. This case report demonstrated the surgical protocol and outcomes in detail, highlighting the pros and cons of the autonomous robotic system. Objectives. This in vitro study is aimed at assessing the oral all-ceramic materials energy transmission and temperature changes after Er:YAG laser irradiation of monolithic zirconia all-ceramic materials with varying optical properties. Materials and Methods. Two monolithic zirconia materials, Zenostar T and X-CERA TT (monolithic Zirconia), were studied. Specimens were divided into four groups, with a thickness of 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 mm, respectively. The chemical elemental composition of the two materials was determined using X-ray spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The light transmittance of specimens with different thicknesses was measured using a spectrophotometer at three wavelength ranges: 200–380, 380–780, and 780–2500 nm. Irradiation with Er:YAG laser was performed, and the resultant temperature changes were measured using a thermocouple thermometer. Results. Compositional analysis indicated that Si content in X-CERA TT was higher than that in Zenostar T. The light transmittance of both materials decreased as specimen thickness increased. Er:YAG laser irradiation led to temperature increase at both Zenostar T (26.4°C–81.7°C) and X-CERA TT (23.9°C–53.5°C) specimens. Both optical transmittance and temperature changes after Er:YAG laser irradiation were consistent with exponential distribution against different thickness levels. Conclusion. Background Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disorder that is characterized by venous or arterial thrombosis and/or obstetric morbidity in the constant presence of persistent antiphospholipid antibodies (aPLs). In patients with APS, the relationship between production of immunoglobulin (Ig)A antiphospholipid antibodies and adverse events in pregnancy is still unclear. As a result of massive trials, the clinical efficiency of IgA-aPLs is used to evaluate pregnancy outcomes in patients with APS. Methods We enrolled 381 female patients with APS and 93 healthy pregnant women. Silica clotting time ratio, dilute Russell viper venom time (dRVVT) ratio, and 6 aPLs, including IgA/IgG/IgM isotypes aβ2GPI and IgA/IgG/IgM isotypes anticardiolipin (aCL), were detected using commercial kits. Results We found no significant differences in laboratory parameters between patients with APS and the control group. The total prevalence of aCL IgA was 2.9%; the prevalence of aβ2GPI IgA was 3.4%. Only 1.3% of the individuals who tested aCL-positive (5/381) had isolated aCL IgA. Similarly, isolated aβ2GPI IgA was present in only 0.8% (3/381) of the aβ2GPI-positive subjects. Meanwhile, aCL IgA showed the maximum area under the curve (AUC) of 0.666 (95% CI, 0.60–0.73; P <.001), followed by dRVVT ratio (AUC = 0.649; 0.58–0.72; P <.001). Conclusion Positive aCL IgA and aβ2GPI IgA ratios were extremely low for each isolated isotype of aPLs. For patients with APS who experienced fetal loss, aCL IgA may be utilized as a risk factor for pregnancy loss among patients with APS. Objective: To investigate the effect of the degree of displacement of a femoral shaft fracture with the third fragment on fracture healing after intramedullary nailing. Methods: In total, 216 patients with closed comminuted femoral fracture admitted to Lianyungang Hospital affiliated to Xuzhou Medical University from February 2010 to February 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. Among these patients, 142 were males and 74 were females, the mean age was 38 years (range 17–64 years), and 95 cases were on the right, while 121 cases were on the left. All patients were treated with a femoral interlocking intramedullary nail. Referring to the femoral shaft diameter, the degree of displacement of the third fragment was classified into four grades: grade I (displacement was less than a third of the diameter of the shaft): 121 cases; grade II (greater than a third of the diameter and less than two thirds): 52 cases; grade III (greater than two thirds of the diameter): 28 cases; and grade IV (fracture fragment turnover): 15 cases. According to the modified Radiological Union Scale for Femur (mRUSF), the fracture union rate and the mean union time of the fracture, the effect of the degree of displacement of the third fragment on fracture healing was evaluated. Results: In total, 216 patients with a mean follow-up of 15.9 months (range 6–31 months) met the inclusion criteria. The best fracture healing was the grade I displacement, with a union rate of 89.2% and a mean union time of 7.7 months. The poorest fracture healing was for the grade IV displacement, with a union rate of 13.3% and a mean union time of 16.5 months. The healing was moderate in the grade II and III displacements, with a union rate of 46.2% and 28.6%, respectively, and a mean union time of 8.6 months and 13.5 months, respectively (P < 0.05). Conclusions: The third fragment with grade I displacement requires no intervention, whereas fractures with grade IV displacement should be reduced to as near as possible to the diaphyseal bone defect to avoid nonunion. The third fragments with the grade II or III displacement should be treated with closed reduction whenever possible to achieve a displacement within the range of grade I to minimize the incidence of nonunion. Pineapple residue and banana pseudo-stem are waste from agricultural production in tropical zones, and the characteristics of their pyrolysis should be explored for high-value utilization. Kinetics, thermodynamics, reaction mechanism and valorization of bio-char during pyrolysis of these feedstock were conducted in this study. In biomass mainly decomposed at 150–500 °C, there was a significant mass loss peak for banana pseudo-stem at 650 °C. The activation energy range of pineapple residue and banana pseudo-stem, based on a multi-heating rate method, was 159–335 and 169–364 kJ/mol, respectively. Based on the Gaussian multi-peak fitting method, derivative thermogravimetric curves of pineapple residue and banana pseudo-stem were deconvoluted with three or four fitting peaks, based on the key components in biomass. Interaction between intermediates during pyrolysis increased the complexity of kinetic data. The main carbon number of organic volatiles during pyrolysis was C4 and C5 for pineapple residue, and C2 and C3 for banana pseudo-stem. The high content of cellulose and hemicellulose in biomass improved the yield of volatiles. Porous carbon sourced from pineapple residue and banana pseudo-stems had specific capacitance of 375 F/g and 297 F/g at a current density of 0.5 A/g, respectively. Immune response in plants is tightly regulated by the coordination of the cell surface and intracellular receptors. In animals, the membrane attack complex/perforin-like (MACPF) protein superfamily creates oligomeric pore structures on the cell surface during pathogen infection. However, the function and molecular mechanism of MACPF proteins in plant pathogen responses remain largely unclear. In this study, we identified an Arabidopsis MACP2 and investigated the responsiveness of this protein during both bacterial and fungal pathogens. We suggest that MACP2 induces programmed cell death, bacterial pathogen resistance, and necrotrophic fungal pathogen sensitivity by activating the biosynthesis of tryptophan-derived indole glucosinolates and the salicylic acid signaling pathway dependent on the activity of enhanced disease susceptibility 1 (EDS1). Moreover, the response of MACP2 mRNA isoforms upon pathogen attack is differentially regulated by a posttranscriptional mechanism: alternative splicing. In comparison to previously reported MACPFs in Arabidopsis, MACP2 shares a redundant but nonoverlapping role in plant immunity. Fluoride is widely distributed, and excessive intake will lead to dental fluorosis. In this study, six offspring rats administrated 100 mg/L sodium fluoride were defined as the dental fluorosis group, and eight offspring rats who received pure water were defined as the control group. Differentially expressed proteins and metabolites extracted from peripheral blood were identified using the liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry and gas chromatography mass spectrometry, with the judgment criteria of fold change >1.2 or <0.83 and p < 0.05. A coexpression enrichment analysis using OmicsBean was conducted on the identified proteins and metabolites, and a false discovery rate (FDR) < 0.05 was considered significant. Human Protein Atlas was used to determine the subcellular distribution of hub proteins. The Gene Cards was used to verify results. A total of 123 up-regulated and 46 down-regulated proteins, and 12 up-regulated and 2 down-regulated metabolites were identified. The significant coexpression pathways were the HIF-1 (FDR = 1.86 × 10−3) and glycolysis/gluconeogenesis (FDR = 1.14 × 10−10). The results of validation analysis showed the proteins related to fluorine were mainly enriched in the cytoplasm and extrinsic component of the cytoplasmic side of the plasma membrane. Developing a photocatalyst with high photocatalytic efficiency, chemical stability, and self-degradation capability is essential for optimizing photodegradation processes in environmental applications. In this study, we synthesized a monoclinic BiVO 4 photocatalyst whose surface morphology was modulated by hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) using a facile hydrothermal method. Experimental results demonstrated a substantial increase in the degradation rate (99%) for the CTAC-modified monoclinic BV/CT25 photocatalyst (with an initial CTAC concentration of 25 g/L) compared to the CTAC-free tetragonal BiVO 4 photocatalyst (73%). This highlights the effective enhancement of photocatalytic degradation performance through CTAC modification. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that the band gap of BV/CT25 remained unchanged, suggesting that changes in oxygen vacancies (OVs) and density of states, along with the porous lattice structure, contributed to the improved performance. These findings were further supported by FESEM, as well as EPR and XPS characterizations. In addition, photodegradation tests at various pH conditions and cyclic tests suggested that the modification enhanced the morphological stability and reusability of the modified BiVO 4 photocatalysts. The composition of the microbiome in the early stages of life can directly affect the health of developing infants, and prior evidence suggests that human milk oligosaccharides (HMO) are critical regulators in the maintenance of a healthy gut microbiota in infants. Herein, we conducted an analysis of the gut microbiota of 1-mo-old breastfed infants from Jining and Harbin, China, and a corresponding analysis of the HMO profiles in samples of maternal breast milk. Quantification of HMO was conducted via liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, and bacterial DNA sequencing was employed for characterization of the fecal microbiota. The abundances of total neutral oligosaccharides, lactodifucotetraose, lacto-N-fucopentaose I, and disialyl-lacto-N-tetraose were significantly increased in samples from the Jining group relative to the Harbin group. Bifidobacterium were the predominant microbial species in infants from both Harbin and Jining, with these levels being significantly higher in the former set. Correlation analyses evaluating microbes and 19 different HMO indicated that HMO were beneficial to the development of the gut microbiota in young infants. The predominance of Bifidobacterium in these microbial communities suggests that their ability to efficiently utilize HMO can contribute to the homeostasis of the gut microflora, with breast milk-derived HMO being critical to the shaping of the gut microbiota in breastfed infants. This study evaluated the microbial contamination status of cold dishes consumed by residents of Jilin Province and investigated to determine the incidence of four pathogenic bacteria in cold dishes. A total of 300 samples of cold dishes, including meat, vegetable, and mixed products, were collected from three purchasing places: supermarkets, farmers' markets, and mobile vendors. Viable bacteria were isolated using conventional culture methods. After separation, a quick and easy PCR was used to detect Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli, and Salmonella. The results showed that the total number of microbial colonies in the vegetable samples exceeded the standard rate of 8% and the total number of microbial colonies in the meat and mixed samples did not exceed the standard. The total microbial colony count exceeded the standard in all three procurement sites, with the highest exceedance of 7.4% in the mobile vendor sites. The detection rates of enterotoxigenic E. coli, S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, and Salmonella, among the four pathogenic bacteria detected in all samples, were 4.3, 3.3, 3.0, and 1.0%, respectively. This study can be used to qualitatively assess the microbiological quality associated with cold dishes. It provides data to support the detection of possible food safety problems. Background: This study aimed to compare the efficacies of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors, glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) agonists, and dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitors on kidney outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes using network meta-analysis. Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, and CENTRAL were searched for studies published up to September 28, 2020. Randomized clinical trials enrolling participants with type 2 diabetes were included, for which SGLT-2 inhibitors, GLP-1 agonists, and DPP-4 inhibitors were compared with either each other, or placebo or no treatment. A network meta-analysis using a Bayesian approach was performed. The primary outcome was composite renal events, and the secondary outcome was acute kidney injury (AKI) events. All research was conducted according to a protocol registered in the PROSPERO database (CRD42020208090). Results: In total, we retrieved 17 445 studies, of which 98 articles enrolling 186 335 participants were included for the network meta-analysis. For our primary outcome, the network meta-analysis revealed no significant difference between drug classes regardless of baseline factors. However, GLP-1 receptor agonists were most likely ranked best among the three drugs in reducing composite renal events (80%, moderate-quality evidence). Compared with the control groups (OR 0.74, 95% CI 0.62 to 0.87, low-quality evidence), GLP-1 receptor agonists (OR 0.76, 95% CI 0.59 to 0.96, moderate-quality evidence) and with DPP-4 inhibitors (OR 0.67, 95% CI 0.50 to 0.86, low-quality evidence), SGLT-2 inhibitors were associated with a lower risk of AKI events. Conclusions: In this network meta-analysis, although none of the three new antidiabetic drug classes reduced the composite renal events in participants with type 2 diabetes, GLP-1 receptor agonists may be more effective. Background. As in philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the theory of "kidney governing bones" has been demonstrated by a series of scientific studies. Furthermore, many groups including ours have explored the molecular mechanisms related to bone development, growth, and regeneration using modern biology technologies, such as RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) and isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (ITRAQ), and have demonstrated that the underlying molecular mechanisms were highly consistent with the "kidney governing bones" theory. Objective. Kidney-yang deficiency (YD), as a pathological condition, has a passive effect on the skeleton growth; more specifically, it is a state of skeletal metabolic disorder. However, the exact molecular mechanisms related to the "kidney governing bones" theory under the control of multiple organs and systems are still unknown. Methods. In this study, we performed RNA-Seq analysis to investigate and compare the gene expression patterns of six types of tissue (bone, cartilage, kidney, testicle, thyroid gland, and adrenal gland) from YD rats and normal rats and analyzed the interaction effects controlled by multiple functional genes and signaling pathways between those tissues. Results. Our results showed that, in the state of YD, the functions of bone and cartilage were inhibited. Furthermore, multiple organs involving the reproductive, endocrine, and urinary systems were also investigated, and our results showed that YD could cause dysfunctions of these systems by downregulating multiple functional genes and signaling pathways that positively regulate the homeostasis of these tissues. Conclusion. We ensure that "kidney governing bones" was not a simple change in a single gene but the changes in complex biological networks caused by functional changes in multiple genes. This also coincides with the holistic view of TCM, which holds that the human body itself is an organic whole and the functional activities of each organ coordinate with each other. In the pursuit of optical thermometers, the fluorescence intensity ratio technique has aroused much interest because of the urgent need for noncontact thermometers driven by technological development. Here, an optical thermometer BaLaGa 3 O 7 :Bi3+,Eu3+ based on different thermal responses of Eu3+ and Bi3+ emissions had been reported. The structure, morphology, luminescence properties, and optical thermometric behavior were investigated by experimental data comprising X-ray diffraction patterns, microscopy, and luminescence spectroscopy. The dopants with eight oxygen ligands in the melilite-type host form emission centers. The Bi3+ singly doped, and Eu3+ singly doped phosphors can have intense blue and red emissions due to the 3P 1 -1S 0 and 5D 0 -7F J(0−4) electron transitions, respectively. In the Bi3+-Eu3+ codoped phosphors, tunable emission colors were obtained owing to Bi3+→Eu3+ energy transfer and doping concentration variation. Moreover, the intensity ratio of Bi3+ and Eu3+ emissions varied with the temperature in the range of 298 − 523 K. The widespread use of polyethylene (PE) agricultural films has led to a large accumulation of microplastics in soil, and the environmental effects of microplastics on soil-plants have received increasing attention. In the actual soil environment, microplastics undergo significant changes in their physicochemical properties due to aging, accompanied by complex ecological and environmental effects. However, the quantitative understanding of the environmental effects of microplastic aging in soil-plant systems is still unclear. Therefore, this study investigated the effects of aged and unaged PE microplastics on ecological functions and microplastic transfer mechanisms in soil-plant system, and confirmed the transport behavior of micrometer-sized microplastics (26 μm) within maize plants, expanding the upper size limit of existing studies on microplastic transport within plants. The accumulation of microplastics in maize was also quantitatively assessed in combination with the self-established method of Eu marked PE. The mobility ratio of microplastics from soil to roots, roots to stems, and stems to leaves was 1.07%, 0.76%, and 103.28%, respectively. Lithium–sulfur batteries possess high theoretical energy density but suffer from rapid capacity fade due to the shuttling and sluggish conversion of polysulfides. Aiming at these problems, a biomimetic design of cofactor‐assisted artificial enzyme catalyst, melamine (MM) crosslinked hemin on carboxylated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) (i.e., [CNTs–MM–hemin]), is presented to efficiently convert polysulfides. The MM cofactors bind with the hemin artificial enzymes and CNT conductive substrates through FeN5 coordination and/or covalent amide bonds to provide high and durable catalytic activity for polysulfide conversions, while π–π conjugations between hemin and CNTs and multiple Li‐bond networks offered by MM endow the cathode with good electronic/Li+ transmission ability. This synergistic mechanism enables rapid sulfur reaction kinetics, alleviated polysulfide shuttling, and an ultralow (<1.3%) loss of hemin active sites in electrolyte, which is ≈60 times lower than those of noncovalent crosslinked samples. As a result, the Li–S battery using [CNTs–MM–hemin] cathode retains a capacity of 571 mAh g−1 after 900 cycles at 1C with an ultralow capacity decay rate of 0.046% per cycle. Even under raising sulfur loadings up to 7.5 mg cm−2, the cathode still can steadily run 110 cycles with a capacity retention of 83%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

More than 50% major road accidents are caused by risk driving behaviors from professional drivers of Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDVs). The quantitative estimation of driving performance and driving behaviors portrait for professional drivers is helpful to measure the driver's driving risk and inherent driving style. Previous studies have attempted to evaluate risk driving behavior, but most of them rely on high-demand vehicle and driving data. However, few studies can dig into the causes and correlations behind individual driving behavior and quantify the driving behaviors portrait for professional driver based on long-term naturalistic driving. In this study, the data is from On-Board Unit (OBU) devices mounted in the HDVs in China. Based on the driving behavior pattern diagram and the frequency and ranking of drivers' typical driving patterns, a driving behavior portrait approach is proposed by comprehensively considering the vehicle safety, driving comfort, and fuel economy indicators. The similarities and differences of different drivers' driving behaviors are quantitatively analyzed. The high precision and sampling frequency data from vehicles are used to verify the proposed approach. The results demonstrated that the driving behavior portrait approach can digitally describe the individual driving behaviors styles and identify the potential driving behaviors with long-term naturalistic driving data. Background: Granulicatella adiacens is facultative anaerobic Gram-positive bacteria, which mainly involve bacterial endocarditis and bacteremia, but there are few reports of local suppurative infection. A case of lung abscess with a coinfection of Granulicatella adiacens and other bacteria in a lung cancer patient will be reported in this paper. To our knowledge, this is the first case report describing lung abscess due to G.adiacens.Case Presentation: A 52-year-old Chinese woman was admitted to the hospital, She complained of coughing and expectoration for 1 month, shortness of breath for half a month, and dyspnea for 1 day. After a series of examinations, she was diagnosed with lung abscess, pleural effusion, and bronchogenic carcinoma. Draining pus culture demonstrated Granulicatella adiacens. After more than 5 weeks of antibiotic therapies in total, she gradually recovered to fight against lung cancer.Conclusion: This is the first reported lung abscess caused by G.adiacens. In immunosuppressed hosts, G.adiacens is a virulent pathogen associated with a spectrum of intrathoracic suppurative. Earlier diagnosis and proper drainage surgery with effective antibiotics treatment are very important, and antimicrobial treatment should be more than 5 weeks. When complex pulmonary infection interferes with the CT diagnosis, clinical suspicion of lung cancer should be increased if G.adiacens or Eikenella corrodens is detected from a pulmonary infection. This article describes a human-like automated lane-changing system to mimic the lane-changing maneuver of human drivers in order to make automated vehicles more realistic. In this system, both the personalized factors of human drivers and the traffic environmental factors are considered to derive a personalized human-like lane-changing trajectory planning model, which includes a longitudinal driving behavior model and a lateral lane-changing trajectory planning model. The longitudinal model is derived based on the traffic environment information to predict the longitudinal speed of human-driven vehicles in the lane-changing processes, and also to analyze the longitudinal driving habits of drivers in different driving scenarios. The lateral model plans a suitable lateral lane-changing trajectory preferred by the driver. The personalized parameters of the longitudinal and lateral models are calibrated by the driving data with multi-dimensional time series regression method. The voltage source converter (VSC) system has stability issue under weak AC grid conditions. In this paper, the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) transfer function model of VSC system in frequency-domain is derived. Then, the individual channel analysis and design (ICAD) approach is employed to develop the equivalent single-input single-output (SISO) feedback control model for stability analysis. On that basis, the stability of VSC system and the coupling interaction intensity among the multiple control loops, including the active power control (APC), reactive power control (RPC) and phase-locked-loop (PLL) are investigated. The results show that larger PLL bandwidth increases the coupling degree of active power control (APC) and reactive power control (RPC) closed loops, resulting in the instability of the system under weak AC grid conditions. Finally, a derivative feedback compensation (DFC) approach is proposed to enhance the stability margin for VSC system connected to weak AC grid. The results based on MATLAB-based theoretical analysis and electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulations show that the proposed DFC approach can effectively suppress the instability of VSC system due to the close coupling of APC and RPC closed loops caused by the large PLL bandwidth, thus effectively improve the stability margin of the system. Background: Surgical resection and reconstruction for low-grade bone sarcoma in the metaphysis of the distal femur remain challenging. We hypothesized that 3D printing osteotomy guide plate could assist to accurately resect the tumor lesion and save the joint function. Methods: From January 2017 to August 2019, five patients diagnosed with low-grade bone sarcoma in the metaphysis of the distal femur were treated with hemicortical resection using 3D printing guide plate. Autologous bone graft was inactivated in a high-temperature water bath and re-implanted in situ fixed with plate and screw. Patients were followed up from 17 to 33 months. The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Score was used to evaluate the joint function. X-ray was used to evaluate the bone union. Results: One patient was paracorticular osteosarcoma, and four cases had highly differentiated chondrosarcoma. All cases were involved in the metaphysis of the distal femur. Patients were followed up from 13 to 33 months, with an average of 23.6 months. There was neither post-operation infection, internal fixation loosening, nor fracture occurrence in any of the patients. The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Score averaged at 28.1, while the International Society of Limb Salvage imaging score examination averaged 89.8%. Conclusions: Here, we demonstrate that the 3D printing osteotomy guide plate-assisted hemicortical bone resection is a beneficial strategy to effectively resect the primary low-grade malignant bone tumors in the metaphysis of the distal femur and retained satisfied joint function. Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is characterized by thrombus formation, poor pregnancy outcomes, and a proinflammatory response. H3K4me3‐related monocytes activation are key regulators of APS pathogenesis. Therefore, H3K4me3 CUT&Tag and ATAC‐seq are performed to examine the epigenetic profiles. The results indicate that the H3K4me3 signal and chromatin accessibility at the FOXJ2 promoter are enhanced in an in vitro monocyte model by stimulation with β2GPI/anti‐β2GPI, which mimics APS, and decreases after OICR‐9429 administration. Furthermore, FOXJ2 is highly expressed in patients with primary APS (PAPS) and is the highest in patients with triple‐positive antiphospholipid antibodies (aPLs). Mechanistically, FOXJ2 directly binds to the SLAMF8 promoter and activates SLAMF8 transcription. SLAMF8 further interacts with TREM1 to stimulate TLR4/NF‐κB signaling and prohibit autophagy. Knockdown of FOXJ2, SLAMF8, or TREM1 blocks TLR4/NF‐κB and provokes autophagy, subsequently inhibiting the release of inflammatory and thrombotic indicators. A mouse model of vascular APS is established via β2GPI intraperitoneal injection, and the results suggest that OICR‐9429 administration attenuates the inflammatory response and thrombus formation by inactivating FOXJ2/SLAMF8/TREM1 signaling. These findings highlight the overexpression of H3K4me3‐mediated FOXJ2 in APS, which consequently accelerates APS pathogenesis by triggering inflammation and thrombosis via boosting the SLAMF8/TREM1 axis. The landslide hazard assessment plays a crucial role in landslide risk mitigation and land use planning. The result of landslide hazard assessment corrected by surface deformation, obtained through time-series InSAR, has usually proven to have good application capabilities. However, the issue lies in the uncertainty of InSAR results, where some deformations cannot be calculated, and some are not true deformations. This uncertainty of InSAR results will lead to errors in landslide hazard assessment. Here, we attempt to evaluate landslide hazards by considering combined rainfall and surface deformation. The main objective of this research was to mitigate the impact of bias and explore the accurate landslide hazard assessment method. A total of 201 landslides and 11 geo-environment factors were utilized for landslide susceptibility assessment by support vector machine (SVM) model in Wanzhou District, Three Gorges Reservoir Area (TGRA). The preliminary hazard is obtained by analyzing the statistical data of landslides and rainfall. Based on the SAR image data of Sentinel-1A satellites from September 2019 to October 2021, the SBAS-InSAR method was used to analyze surface deformation. The correlation between surface deformation and rainfall was analyzed, and the deformation factor variables were applied to landslide hazard assessment. The research results demonstrate that the error caused by the uncertainty of InSAR results can be effectively avoided by analyzing the relationship between rainfall and surface deformation. Our results can effectively adjust and correct the hazard results and eliminate the errors in the general hazard assessment. [Display omitted] • Stretchable PPy-based organohydrogel (POG) with anti-freezing properties was synthesized through a facile sol–gel method. • The POG exhibits an exceptional shielding effectiveness (SE T) of 63.6 dB with a thickness of only 2.0 mm. • After being frozen at − 40 ℃ for 4 h, POG still possesses an excellent shielding capability of 59.3 dB. Wearable and multi-functional electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials are an inevitable trend in order to cope with increasingly complex practical applications. In the present work, polypyrrole nanotube (PNT)-based organohydrogels (POGs) with excellent electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) were synthesized through a facile sol–gel strategy. The obtained POGs offer distinct shielding performance, anti-drying, anti-freezing, plasticity and recyclable ability. The POG with a 20 wt% PNTs filling exhibits a SE T of 63.6 dB in the X-band at a thickness of 2.0 mm. After being placed at ambient temperature for 30 days and − 40 ℃ for 4 h, its SE values still retained at 50.3 dB and 59.3 dB, respectively. Moreover, after being immersed in the solvents, the POG (left in the air for 30 days) can recover flexibility and 92 % of its original EMI shielding performance. Importantly, crushing the fully dried organohydrogels into the powder and placing it again in the solvents fully restores its flexibility and EMI shielding properties. The glorious shielding and mechanical characteristics can be ascribed to the superior conductivity of PNTs and the highly crosslinked stable network of PVA, as well as the further enhancement of the crosslinked network by cellulose nanofibers. In addition, ​sensors based on POGs can effectively detect human movement and strain deformations. Here, we rationally designed and preciously synthesized SnO{0 0 1}/TiO 2 {0 0 1} S-scheme heterojunction with exceptionally high hole mobility (1122 cm2/(V·s)), which ranks among the best of reported works. SnO{0 0 1}/TiO 2 {0 0 1} heterojunctions exhibited outstanding performance of gaseous benzene degrading. The degradation rate constant of SnO/TiO 2 heterojunction is 2.4675 h−1, and is boosted by 5.3 times compared with TiO 2 (0.4595 h−1). Through the combination of theoretical calculation and experiment, S-scheme mode of carrier transferring was verified. The promoted hole mobility in SnO/TiO 2 heterojunction enhances the production of ·OH, further boosting photocatalytic performance. By analyzing the detected intermediates, we proposed degradation pathways for benzene, which provide a profound and elucidating view of complex processes in benzene photocatalytic degradation. The phase field approach for fracture has been adapted for fatigue fracture in recent years. In this work, we propose an efficient acceleration scheme for this approach based on concurrent time-scale homogenization. In this scheme, the fatigue fracture problem is decomposed into a macrochronological problem and a microchronological problem, and is accelerated with the macrochronological time steps adaptively determined. The macrochronological time step is monitored during the whole simulation, and is corrected by a predictor–corrector strategy if necessary. Numerical examples demonstrate that this scheme is able to accelerate fatigue fracture simulations without sacrificing much accuracy, and can be up to 200 times faster than direct numerical simulations in some cases. For certain force-controlled examples, the proposed scheme, equipped with the arc-length control, is able to reproduce Paris' law with a correlation coefficient higher than 0.91 in the logarithmic scale. • An efficient scheme for fatigue fracture with the phase field approach is proposed based on a concurrent time homogenization method. • The macrochronological time step is adaptively determined. • A predictor–corrector strategy is developed to monitor the time step size. • This scheme effectively reduces the time cost with high accuracy. • The scheme is able to reproduce Paris' law with a correlation coefficient higher than 0.91.
