We propose a rapid sampling method to assess the functional composition of herbaceous plant communities without prior knowledge of the floristic composition. To determine the community-level value of traits (‘aggregated trait values’) for a plant community, a standardized population-centred method exists, but requires substantial manpower and reliable botanical knowledge. We tested an alternative method, the trait transect, using four subalpine pastures in the Beaufortain region (Northern French Alps) selected along a fertility gradient. We applied both methods to measure five commonly used ‘soft traits’ known to be responsive to soil nutrient availability: plant vegetative and reproductive height, specific leaf area, leaf dry matter and nitrogen contents. We tested whether the variation of these traits along the gradient detected with the population-centred method was also detected with the trait transect. Both methods detected expected trends in the traits in response to the fertility gradient. The trait transect method was as efficient as the population-centred method and is recommended as an appropriate tool for monitoring ecosystem changes in response to environmental conditions and management, especially in species-rich communities. Question: Are leaf dry matter content, specific leaf area and leaf life span relevant plant traits to discriminate the fertility gradient in species-rich natural grasslands? In other words, is species ranking conserved when nitrogen availability or growing periods change? Location: Toulouse Research Centre, France; 150 m a.s.l. Methods: Fifteen grasses and nine dicotyledons were sown in pure stands in a random block design with three replicates. Each species was cultivated at two levels of nitrogen supply, limiting and non-limiting for growth, with three replications per nitrogen level. Leaf traits were measured across both levels of nitrogen supply and growing periods over the year. Results: Leaf dry matter content values separated the species into three life-form classes (grasses, rosette forbs and upright forbs, P < 0.001). This was not the case for specific leaf area and leaf life span. The three leaf traits were variable across growing periods and nitrogen levels, but the ranking of species was conserved over N-levels and growth periods. Furthermore leaf dry matter content was always less variable than the other leaf traits. Conclusion: We conclude that leaf thy matter content measured only on grasses could be used as an indicator to describe the N-richness of the habitat where native herbaceous vegetation develops. The ‘Management indicator’ is one of the less prioritized indicators when we analyze the existing urban sustainable assessment methods. Nevertheless, and according to the opinion of some experts, this indicator should be one of the main as it deals with the involvement of local entities (communities, agencies and government) working together to improve the public services and quality of life of the inhabitants of a specifc area. It recognizes the uniqueness of each place, ensuring that the community facilities are properly maintained and are appropriate to the existing population density (PD) of the area, so that a sense of ownership and responsibility is promoted. The main contribution of this paper is to give a complete panorama of the analysis and evaluation for the management indicator, as well as emphasize the importance of this indicator when we are making a sustainable assessment for urban areas or when we are trying to rehabilitate existing neighborhoods.

This research details the analysis done to the replenishment process in one of the leading companies of the home centers sector in our country, through which improvements are defined to face the limitations found that show the replacement of goods as an unproductive activity. In this way, it seeks to contribute to better positioning the company against competition in a growing market like the current one. The necessary indicators were obtained to examine the evolution of the process in recent years, allowing demonstrate the hypothesis of correlation between the level of out-of-stock, representing replenishment timely management, and service level, which represents the end customer satisfaction and recognition for the company against the competition.

This investigation seeks to increase the competitiveness of small companies that provide maintenance services for heavy equipment by designing game del based on indicators derived from the critical processes of this service, that is, those chain processes value, leading to greater competitive ness for the company.

In this research paper presents the results obtained during the project's "Development impact assessment of the systems of quality management in liquidity and profitability of the Industrial Area through 40". This is initially a detailed description of evaluation of organizational systems, systems of quality management, liquidity ratios, profitability ratios, the criteria for evaluating the impact of systems of quality management in liquidity and profitability of the Area through 40 and the industrial use of discriminant analysis technique. This perspective through qualitative and quantitative descriptive purposeful. Discriminant function obtained and analyzed statistics can be concluded that the ISO 9001 quality certification, positively affects the financial indicators Net Capi tal (NC) Gross Margin (GM) and Operating Income (EBIT) of the sector.
