MOBILE apps ,COGNITIVE ability ,MOBILE communication systems ,DECISION making - Abstract
Although the negative effects of mobile instant messaging have been stressed, its exponential increment justifies studying its application in education. This paper analyses whether college' students perception of WhatsApp usefulness influences cognitive processes important for teamwork (i.e., specialization and coordination), specifically for complex decision-making assignments. Additionally, it seeks to clarify to what extent the relationship between perception of WhatsApp usefulness and these cognitive processes could exert some influence on team efficacy, both perceived and objective (grades). For that purpose, a role-play was specifically designed in which WhatsApp played a mayor function as a communication tool. A sample of university students (N = 200) worked in teams to reach decisions. A student in each team was set apart all team members could only communicate through WhatsApp. Findings confirm the relationships between perceived WhatsApp usefulness and specialization and coordination, as well as perceived WhatsApp usefulness and perceived team efficacy. Both the role-play case designed and results obtained are relevant since show that WhatsApp could be applied as a communication tool in team activities, due to the fact that the perception of its usefulness could help to develop positive attitudes towards teamwork (i.e., team perceived efficacy). From an applied perspective WhatsApp could be used for virtual teamwork through, for example, the proposed role-play case shown. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of the paper is to explore the theme of the principles of the new juridical branch of Health Law, showing the philosophical and epistemological aspects. The theoretical framework is complex thought and -renewed- trialism, and the methodology is qualitative, with a predominance of philosophical, argumentative and documentary analysis. The main result is the historical contextualization, clarification of abstraction and systematization in the branch, achieved through the exposition of principles, with philosophical support, which constitutes an epistemological achievement, even more essential if the branch is in a consolidation period. This paper is closely related to another one where empirical support of the principles is provided, based on national laws and decisions of the highest Argentine Court. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PHILOSOPHY , *HUMANITIES , *FORMALISM (Art) , *REDUCTIONISM - Abstract
Due to the polysemy of Complexity, it is intended to expose different postures, definitions, descriptions and debates about It, in the light of what was described by Carlos Maldonado, Edgar Morin, Ilya Prigogine, Murray Gell-Mann, Leonardo Rodríguez and Julio Aguirre. For them it implies a dialogical and translucent principle that would integrate classical logic considering its de facto (contradictions problems) and de jure (formalism limits) limits, and that in addition would take in himself the principle of Unitas Multiplex that escapes to the abstract unity by the high (holism) and by the low (reductionism). After the presentation of the positions of the mentioned authors the paper goes on to describe encounters and disagreements about this concept finally proposing a definition and characterization of complexity. This paper aims to carry out a reflection on the vulnerability of children, who are victims of the armed conflict in Colombia. This was used at the beginning of the self-eco-organization and the inter-retroactive loop. Violence is a complex phenomenon of multiple interactions, non-linear features, and a self-eco-organizational tendency, which affects the notion of subject and alters the way that children interpret the world and their interactions. The main objective of this paper is to measure the socio-educational impact of the UNARED: Creative Connections for the training of professionals in Art and Art teachers, specifically in the Supervised Professional Practice and Teaching Practices of students of the Centro de Investigación, Docencia y Extensión Artística -CIDEA- of the National University of Costa Rica. For this purpose, it is considered essential first, to establish the basis from which the interdisciplinary research processes in Arts are founded. CIDEA has defined this as a strategic objective for the period 2010-2014. This RED (WEB) of interdisciplinary work has been established from a vision of sustainable human development, the complexity assigned to Education, with a methodology based on Chaos Theory, designed specifically for this process with a humanistic vision of education, such as it is suggested by the Pedagogical Model of the National University of Costa Rica. Its foundation is the Interdisciplinary methodology, where students and teachers in Art and Art Education have built and implemented interdisciplinary processes together with mental health specialists of the National Hospital System, assigned to the Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social -CCSS- (Savings bank of the Welfare State), in order to analyze the feasibility of joint work between the Arts and Mental Health of Costa Rica and thus to improve the citizens' quality of life. The present paper proposes to demonstrate the formative aspects of thought, particularly in the case of complexity approaches. Throughout the Twentieth Century, and especially in the last decades of the same one, the transparency began to guard itself that it prevented to see the representational conceptions of the knowledge like theories, and therefore interpretations. The crisis of the positivism thought jointly with the development of new paradigms in sciences put seriously the budgets naturalized on the knowledge at issue. At the moment the approaches of the complexity face the challenge to develop an aesthetic one of the knowledge that qualifies new productions of sense to give account of a world in accelerated mutation. Aesthetic of the complex thought is based on a dynamics links non-dualist that abdicates of the absolute ones to undertake the risky task, but powerful, of an elucidation and production of contextual and responsible sense. Energy policies formulation is a natural process in any country, which exceeds the economic aspect and is of growing importance, because of its impact over the welfare of society. Over time variables have been added, especially within the concepts of sustainable development, reflecting the importance of the environment and natural resources conservation efforts. This paper presents an analytical research, based on a documentary review, which allows forming a view of the factors that make up the complexity of the formulation of energy policies and their evaluation, through the principles of complex thinking proposed by Edgar Morin, with the variants proposed by Torres (2009), highlighting its value as a tool for understanding this process.

This article reflects on the epistemological principles underlying Morin’s complex thought in their relation with the formative and pedagogical processes in Chilean classrooms. The paper theme aims to relate the direct connection between the fundamental notions of the concept of complexity and the evaluation of certain active methodological principles enhancing the reflexivity and the students’ experience. The three basal and pedagogical assumptions of such connection are based on relations of dialog with the contextual diversity in the recursivity of the experience and in the hologramatic principle of knowledge. The purpose of the text is based on the presentation of critical arguments that allow tensioning the traditional ways of teaching and learning within the educational spaces. Conceptually, the notion of complexity allows the discussion with the educational tradition and with elements of change for a practical reflexivity on formative processes. These processes carry and imply new cognitive landscapes about teaching. The learning experience, the creative autonomy and the current context will be key foundations for future systemic transformations. Finally, a set of recommendations are proposed to implement active methodological actions that could be used in the various educational spaces in Chile.

In this paper, it is expose a displaying scheme of the actions of the individual in the context of the productive world*, considering a series of demonstrations framed in the learning process, this, with respect to the complexity of the human development derived from the interactions of the individual, the family, the community, the labor environment, and society in general from the perspective of volitional, cognitive, and procedural dimensions. The proposed visualization, is conceived as a relational map that includes six pillars of human interaction immersed in the above dimensions, being them, know-to be, know-to know, Know-to live, Know-to create, know-to manage, and know-to communicate, being all these reflected as a synergic structure made manifest in the know-how, from the interplay of values, emotional skills or soft skills, attitudes, knowledge, and finally, ways of proceeding. All of the above, in order to generate an approach to the relational complexity of the human talent development in society. * The productive world, in this document, is conceived as the one in which people get articulated in order to live in family, community, entrepreneurial organization, a diverse kind of institutions, and society in general.

This vision includes a new creative expression of rationality, beyond the simple, mechanical and dualistic thinking, open, divergent and relational form of the act of understanding the nature and the environment; situation that triggers a wide range of possibilities for the study of the habitat and the city. This paper attempts to address the role of the body and its relationship to the environment and urban landscape in terms physical partner, emphasizing the process of building a flexible interaction between urban and architectural reality with the symbolic and natural environment.

Its foundation is the Interdisciplinary methodology, where students and teachers in Art and Art Education have built and implemented interdisciplinary processes together with mental health specialists of the National Hospital System, assigned to the Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social -CCSS- (Savings bank of the Welfare State), in order to analyze the feasibility of joint work between the Arts and Mental Health of Costa Rica and thus to improve the citizens’ quality of life.

This paper presents a critical review of concepts of health and disease in biomedicine, as a contribution to rethinking health in positive terms. We take Canguilhem's epistemology as a starting point in order to highlight fundamental issues in the discussion about health, integrating it with a new understanding of the concept of patient autonomy in the therapeutic process, using an analysis method that takes an approach based on complexity. In this perspective, autonomy is relative, relational and inseparable from dependence. It is also a necessary condition for health, in its broadest meaning, as the self-recovering potential of the human organism. Therefore, autonomy becomes a fundamental value to be reinstated and defended in medical practice, as well as in the social and human sciences' field. A discussion of the implications of the concept of autonomy is presented, if only as a harbinger of a future state, as a precondition for health, citizenship and for life itself.
