The development of the hip joint arthroplasty over the years shows not only technological advancement but also an enhanced recovery, based on the patient-centered care. The efficiency of rehabilitation is needed to be assessed in order to achieve quality of life improvement and resocialization after total hip joint replacement The aim of the article is to present different models of recovery assessment. The research of the literature and good rehabilitation practices suggest quality of life assessment as an indication of a holistic approach to the total hip replacement recovery. Propolis has an ancient history of being used medicinally by humans. Poplar propolis is the most widespread type of propolis in Bulgaria. Its specific quantitative chemical characteristics have been recently standardized. The administration of propolis using electrical currents and therapeutic ultrasound (api-physiotherapy) is less investigated. There is no evidence of propolis bioavailability in synovial fluid as a result of api-physioterapy. The aim of the article is to present a comparison of two different modalities of joint api-physiotherapy. The results show greater propolis bioavailability as galvanic current is used which is a fundament of further studies in the field of pharmacokinetics of propolis physiotherapy. This survey aims to investigate the level of awareness of healthcare professionals to medical aromatherapy practice.
