Abstract Urban greening plays a crucial role in maintaining environmental sustainability and enhancing people’s well-being. However, limited by the shortcomings of traditional methods, studying the heterogeneity and nonlinearity between environmental factors and green view index (GVI) still faces many challenges. To address the concerns of nonlinearity, spatial heterogeneity, and interpretability, an interpretable spatial machine learning framework incorporating the Geographically Weighted Random Forest (GWRF) model and the SHapley Additive exPlanation (Shap) model is proposed in this paper. In this paper, we combine multi-source big data, such as Baidu Street View data and remote sensing images, and utilize semantic segmentation models and geographic data processing techniques to study the global and local interpretation of the Beijing region with GVI as the key indicator. Our research results show that: (1) Within the Sixth Ring Road of Beijing, GVI shows significant spatial clustering phenomenon and positive correlation linkage, and at the same time exhibits significant spatial differences; (2) Among many environmental variables, the increase of green coverage rate has the most significant positive effect on GVI, while the increase of building density shows a strong negative correlation with GVI; (3) The performance of the GWRF model in predicting GVI is excellent and far exceeds that of comparison models.; (4) Whether it is the green coverage rate, urban built environment or socioeconomic factors, their influence on GVI shows non-linear characteristics and a certain threshold effect. With the help of these non-linear influences and explicit threshold effects, quantitative analyses of greening are provided, which can help to assist urban planners in making more scientific and rational decisions when allocating greening resources.

To further reveal the development characteristics of Jurassic source rocks in the southwest depression of the Tarim Basin and their paleoenvironments, with the aim of guiding future shale oil exploration and development, the study integrated rock pyrolysis, maceral analysis, inorganic geochemistry, biomarker compounds, and carbon isotope analyzes.It explored the development characteristics and organic matter enrichment patterns of coal-bearing mudstones from the Lower Jurassic Kangsu Formation and mudstones and silty mudstones from the Middle Jurassic Yangye Formation in the Kekeya area of the southwest depression, Tarim Basin. The results showed that the total organic carbon (TOC) content in the source rocks of the Kangsu and Yangye formations was relatively higher, ranging from 1.7% to 63.5% (with an average of 24.4%), and 0.6% to 6.9% (with an average of 2.1%), respectively, indicating source rocks of good to excellent quality. Source rocks from both formations exhibited low maturity, being in the low-maturity to mature stage.In addition, carbon isotope analysis of kerogen, thin section observations, and biomarker compound analysis indicated that the parent material of the organic matter in the coal-bearing mudstones of the Kangsu Formation and the lower section of the Yangye Formation mainly derived from higher terrestrial plants, while the silty mudstones of the upper section of the Yangye Formation contained abundant planktonic algae. During the depositional period of the Kangsu Formation, the paleoclimate was warm and humid, and the water environment was freshwater, with suboxic and slightly oxidizing conditions. In the early depositional stages of the Yangye Formation, the paleoclimate was also hot and humid, and the depositional environment was similar to that of the Kangsu Formation, characterized by freshwater and suboxic conditions. With the gradual rise in lake level in the late depositional period of the Yangye Formation, the paleoenvironment transitioned to a brackish and suboxic environment. The hot and humid climate, coupled with increased salinity, was conducive to the reproduction of planktonic algae and other aquatic organisms, thereby affecting the organic matter supply in silty mudstones of the upper section of the Yangye Formation. Furthermore, the enhancement of water reducibility during this period was also beneficial for the preservation of organic matter. In summary, paleoclimate, paleosalinity, and depositional environment are important factors influencing the organic matter enrichment in the Jurassic lacustrine source rocks of the Kekeya area.

Abstract Effectively controlling the selective conversion of CO2 photoreduction to C2 products presents a significant challenge. Here, we develop a heterojunction photocatalyst by controllably implanting Au nanoparticles and single atoms into unsaturated Mo atoms of edge-rich MoS2, denoted as Aun/Au1-CMS. Photoreduction of CO2 results in the production of CH3COOH with a selectivity of 86.4%, which represents a 6.4-fold increase compared to samples lacking single atoms, and the overall selectivity for C2 products is 95.1%. Furthermore, the yield of CH3COOH is 22.4 times higher compared to samples containing single atoms and without nanoparticles. Optical experiments demonstrate that the single atoms domains can effectively capture photoexcited electrons by the Au nanoparticles, or the local electric field generated by the nanoparticles promotes the transfer of photogenerated electrons in MoS2 to Au single atoms, prolonging the relaxation time of photogenerated electrons. Mechanistic investigations reveal that the orbital coupling of Au5d and Mo4d strengthens the oxygen affinity of Mo and carbon affinity of Au. The hybridized orbitals reduce energy splitting levels of CO molecular orbitals, aiding C–C coupling. Moreover, the Mo−Au dual-site stabilize the crucial oxygen-associated intermediate *CH2CO, thereby enhancing the selectivity towards CH3COOH. The cross-scale heterojunctions provide an effective strategy to simultaneously address the kinetical and thermodynamical limitations of CO2-to-CH3COOH conversion.

BackgroundNight sweats are a condition in which an individual sweats excessively during sleep without awareness, and stops when they wake up. Prolonged episodes of night sweats might result in the depletion of trace elements and nutrients, affecting the growth and development of children.PurposeTo investigate the relationship between sweat nights and season.MethodThe Internet search index for night sweats in Zhengzhou, China was obtained from the Baidu index during 2011–2022. Meteorological factors, including ambient temperature, humidity, pressure, precipitation and average wind speed in Zhengzhou were obtained from the website https://en.tutiempo.net/climate. A time series decomposition model was used to study the relationship between night sweats and seasonality. Continuous wavelet transform and cross wavelet transform were utilized to explore the relationship between night sweats and meteorological factors.ResultA typical periodic pattern is evident in the seasonal trend. Specifically, following a peak in January each year, there is a rapid decline followed by a secondary peak, after which a trough occurs. The search index of night sweats increased rapidly in the first stage, slowed down in the second stage, and showed negative growth from 2011 to 2014. The correlation coefficients between the search index for night sweats and atmospheric pressure as well as average temperature, are 0.25 and-0.26, respectively.ConclusionNight sweat was connected with season. Specifically, the number of night sweat search index increased in the cold season and declined in the summer season. Night sweat was negatively connected with temperature but favorably correlated with air pressure.

Objective To assess the effect of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2-I) on cardiac remodeling and prognosis in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients presenting with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods In this single-center retrospective active-comparator study, consecutive diabetic AMI patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) between 2021 and 2023 were enrolled. Patients were divided into SGLT2-I users and non-SGLT2-I users based on discharge medications. The primary endpoint was the left ventricular remodeling index (LVRI), defined as the relative change in LV end-diastolic volume after six months. The secondary outcomes included major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), comprising all-cause mortality, hospitalization for heart failure, nonfatal MI, and nonfatal stroke. Results The study comprised 423 T2DM AMI patients(with or without ST-segment elevation), with 239 SGLT2-I users and 184 non-SGLT2-I users. At six months, LVRI was significantly lower in the SGLT2-I users compared to the non-SGLT2-I users (3.49 ± 19.71 vs 7.06 ± 15.15, P = .042). The non-SGLT2-I users exhibited a higher prevalence of positive LVR (LVRI > 0%) (64.67% vs 50.63%, P = .004) and pathological LVR (LVRI > 20%) (19.57% vs 12.13%, P = .036). Multivariate logistic regression indicated that SGLT2-I was associated with a reduced risk of LVR (OR 0.6; 95%CI 0.38-0.97; P = .035). During a mean follow-up of 25 ± 8 months, Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated a lower rate of MACE-free survival in the non-SGLT2-I users ( P = .005). Conclusions SGLT2-I protects against LVR and lowers the risk of adverse cardiovascular outcomes in T2DM AMI patients.

Abstract Intermetallic compounds (IMCs) with ordered atomic structure have gained great attention as nanocatalysts for its enhanced activity and stability. Although the reliance of IMC preparation on high-temperature annealing is well known, a comprehensive understanding of the formation mechanisms of IMCs in this process is currently lacking. Here, we employ aberration-corrected high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (AC-HAADF-STEM) to track the formation process of IMCs on carbon supports during in-situ annealing, by taking PtFe as a case study within an industry-relevant impregnation synthesis framework. We directly discern five different stages at the atomic level: initial atomic precursors; Pt cluster formation; Pt-Fe disordered alloying; structurally ordered Pt3Fe formation, and final Pt3Fe-PtFe IMC conversion. In particular, we find that the crucial role of high-temperature annealing resides in facilitating the diffusion of Fe towards Pt, enabling the creation of alloys with the targeted stoichiometric ratio, which in turn provides the thermodynamic driving force for the disorder-to-order transition.

IntroductionIncreasing evidence has indicated a connection between bipolar disorder (BD) and arteriosclerosis (AS), yet the specific molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the hub genes and molecular pathways for BD with AS.MethodsBD-related dataset GSE12649 were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and key module genes derived from Limma and weighted gene co-expression network analyses (WGCNA) were identified. AS-related genes were sourced from the DisGeNET database, and the overlapping genes between DEGs and AS-related genes were characterized as differentially expressed arteriosclerosis-related genes (DE-ASRGs). The functional enrichment analysis, protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and three machine learning algorithms were performed to explore the hub genes, which were validated with two external validation sets. Additionally, immune infiltration was performed in BD.ResultsOverall, 67 DE-ASRGs were found to be overlapping between the DEGs and AS-related genes. Functional enrichment analysis highlighted the cancer pathways between BD and AS. We identified seven candidate hub genes (CTSD, IRF3, NPEPPS, ST6GAL1, HIF1A, SOX9 and CX3CR1). Eventually, two hub genes (CX3CR1 and ST6GAL1) were identified as BD and AS co-biomarkers by using machine learning algorithms. Immune infiltration had revealed the disorder of immunocytes.DiscussionThis study identified the hub genes CX3CR1 and ST6GAL1 in BD and AS, providing new insights for further research on the bioinformatic mechanisms of BD with AS and contributing to the diagnosis and prevention of AS in psychiatric clinical practice.

BackgroundAsthma is a chronic respiratory condition affecting populations worldwide, with prevalence ranging from 1–18% across different nations. Gender differences in asthma prevalence have attracted much attention.PurposeThe aim of this study was to investigate biomarkers of gender differences in asthma prevalence based on machine learning.MethodThe data came from the gene expression omnibus database (GSE69683, GSE76262, and GSE41863), which involved in a number of 575 individuals, including 240 males and 335 females. Theses samples were divided into male group and female group, respectively. Grid search and cross-validation were employed to adjust model parameters for support vector machine, random forest, decision tree and logistic regression model. Accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score were used to evaluate the performance of the models during the training process. After model optimization, four machine learning models were utilized to predict biomarkers of sex differences in asthma. In order to validate the accuracy of our results, we performed Wilcoxon tests on the genes expression.ResultIn datasets GSE76262 and GSE69683, support vector machine, random forest, logistic regression, and decision tree all achieve 100% accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. Abstract Novel active DNA transposons, such as Spy transposons from the PHIS superfamily, are identified through bioinformatics in this study. The native transposases cgSpy and cvSpy displayed transposition activities of approximately 85% and 35% compared to the hyperactive piggyBac transposase (hyPB). The cgSpy transposon showed unique characteristics, including a lack of overproduction inhibition and reduced efficiency for insertion sizes between 3.1 to 8.5 kb. Integration preferences of cgSpy are found in genes and regulatory regions, making it suitable for genetic manipulation. Evaluation in T‐cell engineering demonstrated that cgSpy‐mediated chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) modification is comparable to the PB system, indicating its potential utility in cell therapy. This study unveils the promising application of the active native transposase, Spy, from Colletes gigas, as a valuable tool for genetic engineering, particularly in T‐cell manipulation.

Abstract Introduction Hypoxia‐inducible factor‐2α (HIF‐2α) modulates the hypoxic response pathway in tumors; however, mutations in pathways (including SDHA, SDHB, SDHC, SDHD, FH, and VHL genes) that are suspected to activate HIF‐2α are poorly understood, with limited understanding of the prevalence and clinical prognosis. Methods This retrospective observational study used a de‐identified nationwide (US‐based) clinico‐genomic database (CGDB) across 15 available tumor types. Results Among the 9467 adult patients with advanced/metastatic solid tumors included in the analysis, any mutation at the above‐mentioned six genes was observed in 1.8% (95% CI: 1.5–2.1) of patients. The mutation prevalence ranged from 0.05% of SDHD to 0.93% of VHL. When further stratified by tumor type, the prevalence of gene mutation in each tumor type was well below 1%, except for VHL with 44% in renal cell carcinomas (RCC). Excluding RCC, the prevalence of any HIF‐2α gene mutations in the study population was 0.9% (95% CI: 0.8–1.2). The median overall survival (OS) from 1 and 2 L therapy among patients with any HIF‐2α gene mutation was 14.5 (95% CI: 11.5–24.2) and 9.3 (95% CI: 6.0–18.1) months, respectively, compared with 13.4 (95% CI: 12.9–13.9) and 9.8 (95% CI: 9.3–10.4) months among patients without HIF‐2α gene mutations. Abstract Direct electrosynthesis of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) via the two-electron oxygen reduction reaction presents a burgeoning alternative to the conventional energy-intensive anthraquinone process for on-site applications. Nevertheless, its adoption is currently hindered by inferior H2O2 selectivity and diminished H2O2 yield induced by consecutive H2O2 reduction or Fenton reactions. Herein, guided by theoretical calculations, we endeavor to overcome this challenge by activating a main-group Pb single-atom catalyst via a local micro-environment engineering strategy employing a sulfur and oxygen super-coordinated structure. The main-group catalyst, synthesized using a carbon dot-assisted pyrolysis technique, displays an industrial current density reaching 400 mA cm−2 and elevated accumulated H2O2 concentrations (1358 mM) with remarkable Faradaic efficiencies. Both experimental results and theoretical simulations elucidate that S and O super-coordination directs a fraction of electrons from the main-group Pb sites to the coordinated oxygen atoms, consequently optimizing the *OOH binding energy and augmenting the 2e− oxygen reduction activity. This work unveils novel avenues for mitigating the production-depletion challenge in H2O2 electrosynthesis through the rational design of main-group catalysts.

Homologous recombination events take place between the 5′ and 3′ long terminal repeats (LTRs) of ERVs, resulting in the generation of solo-LTR, which can cause solo-LTR-associated polymorphism across different genomes. In the current study, specific criteria were established for the filtration of solo-LTRs, resulting in an average of 5630 solo-LTRs being identified in 21 genomes. Subsequently, a protocol was developed for detecting solo-LTR polymorphisms in the pig genomes, resulting in the discovery of 927 predicted solo-LTR polymorphic sites. Following verification and filtration processes, 603 highly reliable solo-LTR polymorphic sites were retained, involving 446 solo-LTR presence sites (solo-LTR+) and 157 solo-LTR absence sites (solo-LTR−) relative to the reference genome. Intersection analysis with gene/functional regions revealed that 248 solo-LTR− sites and 23 solo-LTR+ sites overlapped with genes or were in the vicinity of genes or functional regions, impacting a diverse range of gene structures. Moreover, through the utilization of 156 solo-LTR polymorphic sites for population genetic analysis, it was observed that these solo-LTR loci effectively clustered various breeds together, aligning with expectations and underscoring their practical utility. This study successfully established a methodology for detecting solo-LTR polymorphic sites. By applying these methods, a total of 603 high-reliability solo-LTR polymorphic sites were pinpointed, with nearly half of them being linked to genes or functional regions.

Abstract Uridine, a pyrimidine nucleoside, is crucial in the synthesis of metabolites. According to observational studies, a higher plasma uridine level is associated with a lower risk of atrial fibrillation (AF). However, the casual relationship between uridine and AF is still unknown. In this study, we used the Mendelian randomisation (MR) approach to explore causality. Three genetic variants associated with uridine were identified from the Metabolomics GWAS server (7824 participants); summary-level datasets associated with AF were acquired from a genome-wide association study (GWAS) meta-analysis with 1,030,836 European participants (60,620 AF cases). We duplicated the MR analyses using datasets from AF HRC studies and the FinnGen Consortium, and then conducted a meta-analysis which combined the main results. The risk of AF was significantly associated with the genetically determined plasma uridine level (odds ratio [OR] 0.27; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.16, 0.47; p = 2.39 × 10–6). The association remained consistent in the meta-analysis of the various datasets (OR 0.27; 95% CI 0.17, 0.42; p = 1.34 × 10–8). In conclusion, the plasma uridine level is inversely associated with the risk of AF. Raising the plasma uridine level may have prophylactic potential against AF.

Abstract SUMOylation is an evolutionary conserved regulatory mechanism, in which Ubc9 is the only E2 conjugating enzyme. Previous studies demonstrated that SUMOylation is involved in multiple biological processes, but its role in dendritic cells (DCs) remains to be fully addressed. Herein in this report, we found that DCs deficient in Ubc9 protected mice from dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis, as evidenced by the ameliorated weight loss, colon length, and disrupted colon structure. Mechanistically, Ubc9 mediated SUMOylation of RBPJ, by which it stabilized RBPJ from ubiquitin-mediated degradation to enhance its transcriptional activity, while Ciita, a critical transcription factor, is a direct target downstream of RBPJ, which forms an enhanceosome complex to transcribe the expression of MHC II genes. Therefore, loss of Ubc9 abolished RBPJ SUMOylation, which was coupled with reduced Ciita transcription, thereby attenuating the expression of MHC class II genes. As a consequence of defective MHC II expression, Ubc9 -/- DCs were featured by the impaired capability to process antigen and to prime effector CD4+ T cells, thereby protecting mice from DSS-induced colitis. Together, our results shed novel insight into the understanding of SUMOylation in the regulation of DC functions in pathological conditions.

Due to the excellent electrothermal properties, outstanding resistance to electromigration and cost-effectiveness, Cu nanoparticles are considered as a promising bonding material for high-power device. However, few studies have analyzed the coalescence behavior mechanism of Cu nanoparticles during sintering under temperature dependent conditions. In this paper, a novel method combining atomic and macroscopic scales was adopted to investigate the coalescence behavior of Cu nanoparticles. The sintering microstructure and bonding quality of Cu nanoparticles at different temperatures were evaluated via in-situ Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) heating, and the evolution of dislocations and phase transitions was analyzed. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was employed to characterize the atomic scale evolution of solid-state liquid sintering process of Cu nanoparticles. The role of temperature and nanoparticle size in the sintering mechanism were investigated. The results indicate that high temperature during constant temperature sintering is beneficial for the formation of stable crystal structures in the sintering neck and reduces the generation of dislocations. Shockley dislocations can contribute to the constitution of HCP stacking fault within Cu nanoparticles, which deteriorates the sintering performance. The increase in sintering temperature prompts Cu atoms at the sintering neck to migrate horizontally rather than vertically. Compared to small-sized nanoparticles, significant driving energy was required in the sintering of large-sized nanoparticles during the continuous heating process. Shockley dislocations play a dominant role in phase transition stacking fault at high temperature. Additionally, the mechanical failure forms of Cu/Nano-Cu/Cu joints at different sintering temperatures were studied and verified through MD simulation.

Cu–Al2O3–TiB2 is an important high-performance dual-phase dispersion strengthened copper alloy. The problem of serious coarseness and agglomeration of TiB2 and Al2O3 particles is a bottleneck that restricts the preparation of high-performance Cu–Al2O3–TiB2 alloys by traditional liquid-phase in-situ reaction method. In this paper, an idea of combining the split cavity melting of complex reactants and efficient solidification of melt was proposed, and a new liquid phase in-situ reaction technology for dual-phase strengthened metal matrix composites was invented. Compared with the traditional liquid phase in-situ reaction method, the strengthening particles in the Cu-0.75Al2O3-0.75TiB2 (wt.%, nominal composition) prepared by the new liquid phase in-situ reaction technology were more uniform, and the tensile strength and hardness were significantly improved. Large-deformation cold rolling can improve distribution of particles. With the increase of deformation, the main deformation mode of the composite changed from matrix plastic deformation to matrix-particle shear deformation, with the main fracture mechanism changing from particle-matrix interface fracture to particle shear fracture. The new liquid phase in-situ reaction technology effectively solved the problem of particle coarsening and agglomeration in Cu–Al2O3–TiB2 composites. The new liquid phase in-situ reaction technology combined with large deformation is a new process with high efficiency and short flow for preparing dual-phase dispersion strengthened copper alloys.

Abstract Cells possess isolated compartments that spatially confine different enzymes, enabling high-efficiency enzymatic cascade reactions. Herein, we report a cell-inspired design of biomimetic cascade catalysis system by immobilizing Fe single atoms and Au nanoparticles on the inner and outer layers of three-dimensional nanocapsules, respectively. The different metal sites catalyze independently and work synergistically to enable engineered and cascade glucose detection. The biomimetic catalysis system demonstrates ~ 9.8- and 2-fold cascade activity enhancement than conventional mixing and coplanar construction systems, respectively. Furthermore, the biomimetic catalysis system is successfully demonstrated for the colorimetric glucose detection with high catalytic activity and selectivity. Also, the proposed gel-based sensor is integrated with smartphone to enable real-time and visual determination of glucose. More importantly, the gel-based sensor exhibits a high correlation with a commercial glucometer in real samples detection. These findings provide a strategy to design an efficient biomimetic catalysis system for applications in bioassays and nanobiomedicines.

The global health crisis posed by increasing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) implicitly requires solutions based a One Health approach, yet multisectoral, multidisciplinary research on AMR is rare and huge knowledge gaps exist to guide integrated action. This is partly because a comprehensive survey of past research activity has never performed due to the massive scale and diversity of published information. Here we compiled 254,738 articles on AMR using Artificial Intelligence (AI; i.e., Natural Language Processing, NLP) methods to create a database and information retrieval system for knowledge extraction on research perfomed over the last 20 years. Global maps were created that describe regional, methodological, and sectoral AMR research activities that confirm limited intersectoral research has been performed, which is key to guiding science-informed policy solutions to AMR, especially in low-income countries (LICs). Further, we show greater harmonisation in research methods across sectors and regions is urgently needed. For example, differences in analytical methods used among sectors in AMR research, such as employing culture-based versus genomic methods, results in poor communication between sectors and partially explains why One Health-based solutions are not ensuing. Therefore, our analysis suggest that performing culture-based and genomic AMR analysis in tandem in all sectors is crucial for data integration and holistic One Health solutions. Finally, increased investment in capacity development in LICs should be prioritised as they are places where the AMR burden is often greatest. Our open-access database and AI methodology can be used to further develop, disseminate, and create new tools and practices for AMR knowledge and information sharing.

In order to explore the fermentation performance of lactic acid bacteria and yeast with different species relationships in the process of pickle fermentation, a pair of lactic acid bacteria and yeast with mutual promoting relationship from 8 strains of lactic acid bacteria and 5 strains of yeast from different food sources, were screened through the cross-culture of metabolites and co-culture methods, namely Lactobacillus plantarum J05 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y21. The co-culture relationship of this group of bacteria was analyzed by culture mode, inoculation sequence and inoculation ratio, then the pH, total acid, reducing sugar content and nitrite content were measured during the fermentation process. The results showed that the addition of the sterile metabolites of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y21 in standing culture significantly promoted the growth of Lactobacillus plantarum J05 in the growing stage; the growth of both strains was promoted by inoculation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y21 followed by Lactobacillus plantarum J05 and the optimal inoculation ratio of two strains was 30:1 and 40:1. When the inoculation ratio of bacteria group was 30:1, at the stable stag of pickle fermentation, compared with natural fermentation group, single bacteria group and mutual inhibition group, the pH of mutual promotion group was 3.4~3.5, which was significantly lower than that of other groups (P

The microstructure characterization, mechanical properties and texture evolution of a ZK60 alloy achieved via the extrusion-shearing (ES) process were systematically studied with the help of optical microscopy (OM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD). The results showed that the grain size was refined to ∼1.7 μm and the microstructure became more uniform. The tensile yield strength and ultimate tensile strength at room temperature of the ES-processed alloy reached 263 MPa and 321 MPa, respectively, which were 35.6% and 10.7% higher than that of the as-annealed alloy. Grain refinement, precipitate strengthening, and dislocation strengthening are the main factors for the improvement in strength. After the ES process, the elongation of ZK60 alloy increased from 16.6% to 23.7%, which is attributed to the activation of the basal slip system and texture modification. Moreover, the tension-compression yield asymmetry of the ZK60 alloy was significantly improved after extrusion, thus indicating that the extrusion-shearing process suggested in this work has great potential for the large-scale application of magnesium alloys.

ABSTRACTGinger tissue culture seedlings can reduce the incidence of soil-borne diseases. However, they have several branches, small ginger bulbs, and slow seed recovery. Strigolactone can inhibit the growth of lateral buds, adjust plant types, and increase crop yield. This study used exogenous strigolactone to treat tissue-cultured ginger and assess its effects on growth, dry matter accumulation, and yield. The results showed that the number of branches and ginger bulbs per plant decreased significantly with the application of exogenous GR24 (Synthetic analog of strigolactone, rac-GR24), and higher concentrations led to a greater decrease. Plant height, stem diameter, root, rhizome, stem sheath, leaf and plant dry matter accumulation, average ginger bulb weight, and yield increased significantly, increasing initially and then decreasing with increasing concentration. Depending on the concentrations, exogenous strigolactone can inhibit the branching of tissue-cultured ginger, reduce the number of branches, increase plant height and stem diameter, optimize the aboveground plant type, increase dry matter accumulation and root-shoot ratio, decrease the number of ginger bulbs per plant, increase the average ginger ball weight, and increase yield. When the GR24 concentration was further increased, the number of branches, the plant height, stem diameter, dry matter accumulation, root shoot ratio, ginger bulbs per plant, average weight of ginger bulbs, and ginger yield decreased. Treatment with 7.5 um L−1 of exogenous GR24 could optimize the plant type of tissue-cultured ginger and increase yield.

AlGaN/GaN high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) are widely used in high-frequency and high-power applications owing to the high two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) concentration. However, the microscopic origin of the 2DEG remains unclear. This hinders the development of device fabrication technologies, such as threshold voltage modulation, current collapse suppression, and 2DEG concentration enhancement technologies, as well as AlGaN/GaN sensors with very high sensitivity to polar liquids. To clarify the 2DEG microscopic origin, we studied the effects of gas molecules on AlGaN/GaN surfaces through various experiments and first-principles calculations. The results indicated that the adsorption of gas molecules on the AlGaN/GaN surface is an important phenomenon, clarifying the microscopic origin of the 2DEG. This study elucidates the properties of AlGaN/GaN heterojunctions and promotes the development of new fabrication technologies for AlGaN/GaN devices.

Cu and Ag nanoparticles are widely encouraged to be regarded as the die-attach material for power device packaging due to the small size effects and excellent physical properties. However, Cu nanoparticles are prone to oxidation during the sintering process, high porosity and easy electromigration of Ag nanoparticles after sintering, which seriously affect the reliability of the interconnection joints. Cu-Ag composite nanoparticles are gradually considered the most promising die-attach material. Unfortunately, there is a lack of study into the atomic diffusion mechanism of Cu-Ag nanoparticles during heterogeneous sintering. The essential difference between homogeneous and heterogeneous sintering has not been revealed, which is not conducive to better control of the sintering process. In this paper, we investigated the sintering fusion mechanism of Cu-Ag composite nanoparticles, homogeneous Cu nanoparticles, and homogeneous Ag nanoparticles at the nanoscale by molecular dynamic simulation. The internal differences between homogeneous and heterogeneous sintering were comprehensively revealed from the radial distribution function (RDF), nanoparticle shrinkage ratio, mean square displacement (MSD), atomic phase transition, and dislocation slip mechanism. In addition, we also investigated the effects of sintering temperature and heating rate on the sintering reliability of Cu-Ag nanoparticles. The results indicate that homogeneous nanoparticles exhibit significant HCP stacking faults during constant sintering process, which will hinder further enlargement of the sintering neck. Surprisingly, heterogeneous (Cu-Ag) nanoparticles undergo alloying process during sintering, which greatly improves sintering performance. The increase in sintering temperature and the decrease in heating rate can make the sintering of nanoparticles more complete, which provides theoretical support for the development of high-power device die-attach materials.

During the development of natural gas hydrates, it is important to ensure the stability of the reservoir. The hydrate reservoirs in the South China Sea are clayey silt sediments, which are prone to sand production and collapse during hydrate dissociation. This study innovatively proposes the idea of consolidation-acidizing for NGH reservoir modification. Based on the core parameters of well A drilling in the Shenhu Sea area of the South China Sea, NGH sediment skeleton samples were artificially prepared. Core sensitivity testing indicates that the NGH reservoir has the potential for acidizing modification. After using tetraethyl orthosilicate to solidify the sample, it was found that Young’s modulus of the sample increased by 58.8%, and the compressive strength increased by 54.78%. Although the porosity decreased by 39.33%, the pores were not completely blocked. After the acidizing experiment, the permeability of the consolidated sample was 2.88 mD, and the porosity increased by 10.63%; The permeability of the unconsolidated sample was 1.86 mD, and the porosity decreased by 10.73%. The CT scan images also showed that the pores of the sample after consolidation-acidizing developed uniformly without significant deformation; The unconsolidated sample undergoes severe deformation and sand production after acidizing. This study demonstrates that the consolidation-acidizing modification method is feasible in clayey silt hydrate reservoirs.

Retrotransposons, a type of DNA fragment that can mobilize itself on genome, can generate genetic variations and develop for molecular markers based on the insertion polymorphism. Zinc finger proteins (ZNFs) are among the most abundant proteins in eukaryotic animals, and their functions are extraordinarily diverse and particularly important in gene regulation. In the current study, bioinformatic prediction was performed to screen for retrotransposon insertion polymorphisms (RIPs) in six ZNF genes (ZNF2, ZNF3, ZNF7, ZNF8, ZNF10 and ZNF12). Six RIPs in these ZNFs, including one short interspersed nuclear element (SINE) RIP in intron 1 and one long interspersed nuclear element 1 (L1) RIP in intron 3 of ZNF2, one SINE RIP in 5′ flanking region and one SINE RIP in intron 2 of ZNF3, one SINE RIP in 3′ UTR of ZNF7 and one L1 RIP in intron 2 of ZNF12, were discovered and their presence was confirmed by PCR. The impact of the SINE RIP in the first intron of ZNF2, which is close to the core promoter of ZNF2, on the gene activity was investigated by dual-luciferase assay in three cell lines. Based on well horizon calibration, the typical seismic profiles in southwestern Tarim Basin were interpreted systematically, regional geological sections were established, and the regional denudation thickness of each tectonic period was restored. On this basis, the plane morphology maps of ancient structures of the Cambrian pre-salt dolomites in different periods were compiled, and the spatial distribution, development, evolution and migration of paleo-uplift in the late Early Paleozoic were analyzed. In the late Early Paleozoic, there existed a unified regional paleo-uplift widely distributed in southwestern Tarim Basin, which is called the southwestern Tarim plaeo-uplift. The “Tarim SW paleo-uplift” and “Hetian paleo-uplift” proposed in previous literatures are not independent, but the result of the spatio-temporal migration and evolution of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift identified in this paper. The southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift emerged at the end of Middle Ordovician, and took its initial shape with increased amplitude in the Late Ordovician. During the Silurian, the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift rose steadily and expanded rapidly to the east, incorporating Pishan—Hetian and other areas, with the structural high locating in the Pishan—Hetian area. During the Devonian, the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift began to shrink gradually, to a limited range in the Pishan—Hetian area in the southern part of the basin. During the Carboniferous, the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift became an underwater uplift, that is, the paleo-uplift gradually died out. The southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift belongs to the forebulge of the southwestern Tarim foreland basin in the late Early Paleozoic, and its formation and evolution are related to the early Paleozoic orogeny of the West Kunlun orogenic belt in the south of the Tarim Basin. The migration of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift from the northwestern part of the southwestern Tarim Basin to the Pishan—Hetian area indicates the early Paleozoic orogenic process of the West Kunlun orogenic belt, which started in the western section at the end of Middle Ordovician and extended from west to east in a “scissor” style. The migration and evolution of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift controlled the development of unconformities at the end of Middle Ordovician, the end of Late Ordovician, and the end of Middle Devonian, and the spatial distribution of dissolved fracture-cave reservoirs in weathered crust below the unconformities in the southwest of Tarim Basin. The migration of the structural high of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift also played an important role in controlling the development of dissolved fracture-cave reservoirs in weathered crust.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) have a significant part in the elimination of recalcitrant organic pollutants and commonly coexist in one advanced oxidation system. It is difficult for us to make clear the effect of the co-instantaneous generation of radicals and nonradicals, which would cover and obscure the transformation pathway. Herein, a coordinate welding process is presented for fabricating accessible Mn1 site catalysts (Mn SSCs) in order to clarify the nonradical (singlet oxygen/1O2) generated pathway and transformation in oxidative removal of contaminants. The Mn SSCs achieve nearly 100% 1O2 fabrication by activating peroxymonosulfate, which displays an excellent sulfamethoxazole elimination performance, super anti-anion interference, and extraordinary stability. As revealed by density functional theory calculations, the Mn SSCs with a special welded three-dimensional nanostructure could significantly boost the activation process by oxidizing the peroxymonosulfate at the interlayer of Mn SSCs and reducing dissolved oxygen on the surface of Mn SSCs. This design of Mn SSCs with a three-dimensional welded nanostructure might offer a potential approach for employing single site catalysts for environmental remediation.

Abstract Background: We evaluated the performance of single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping arrays OncoScan (Thermo Fisher Scientific, San Diego, CA) and Infinium CytoSNP-850K (CytoSNP; Illumina, Waltham, MA) for assessing homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) genomic instability. Methods: DNA (pretreatment samples) across 20 tumor types was evaluated with OncoScan, CytoSNP, and the clinically validated HRD test. Copy number variation (CNV) and loss of heterozygosity (LOH) analyses were performed with ASCATv2.5.1. Aggregate HRD genomic metrics included LOH, telomeric-allelic imbalance number (TAI), and large-scale state transition (LST). Associations between BRCA mutation (BRCAm) status and the clinically validated HRD test metric (dichotomized at a clinical cut-off) were evaluated using area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC); Spearman ρ was calculated for continuous metrics. CNV segmentation and HRD genomic metrics were calculated (n = 120, n = 106, and n = 126 for OncoScan, CytoSNP and clinically validated HRD test, respectively). Results: When assessed by SNP arrays, the genomic metric demonstrated good association with BRCAm (AUROC of HRD: OncoScan, 0.87; CytoSNP, 0.75) and the clinically validated test (cut-off, 42; AUROC of HRD: OncoScan, 0.92; CytoSNP, 0.91). The genomic metrics demonstrated good correlation with the clinically validated aggregate HRD test metric (ρ: OncoScan, 0.82; CytoSNP, 0.81) and for each component (ρ: OncoScan, 0.68 [LOH], 0.76 [TAI], and 0.78 [LST]; CytoSNP, 0.59 [LOH], 0.77 [TAI], and 0.82 [LST]). HRD assessed by SNP genotyping arrays and the clinically validated test showed good correlation. Conclusion: OncoScan and CytoSNP may potentially identify most HRD-positive tumors with appropriate clinically relevant cut-offs.

BackgroundDue to environmental pollution, changes in lifestyle, and advancements in diagnostic technology, the prevalence of asthma has been increasing over the years. Although China has made early efforts in asthma epidemiology and prevention, there is still a lack of unified and comprehensive epidemiological research within the country. The objective of the study is to determine the nationwide prevalence distribution of asthma using the Baidu Index and China's Health Statistical Yearbook.MethodsBased on China's Health Statistical Yearbook, we analyzed the gender and age distribution of asthma in China from 2011 to 2020, as well as the length of hospitalization and associated costs. By utilizing the Baidu Index and setting the covering all 31 provinces and autonomous regions in China, we obtained the Baidu Index for the keyword 'asthma'. Heatmaps and growth ratios described the prevalence and growth of asthma in mainland China.ResultsThe average expenditure for discharged asthma (standard deviation) patients was ¥5,870 (808). The average length of stay (standard deviation) was 7.9 (0.38) days. During the period of 2011 to 2020, hospitalization expenses for asthma increased while the length of hospital stay decreased. The proportion of discharged patients who were children under the age of 5 were 25.3% (2011), 19.4% (2012), 16% (2013), 17.9% (2014), 13.9% (2015), 11.3% (2016), 10.2% (2017), 9.4% (2018), 8.1% (2019), and 7.2% (2020), respectively. The prevalence of asthma among boys was higher than girls before the age of 14. In contrast, the proportion of women with asthma was larger than men after the age of 14. During the period from 2011 to 2020, the median [The first quartile (Q1)-the third quartile (Q3)] daily asthma Baidu index in Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Sichuan, and Zhejiang were 419 (279–476), 328 (258–376), 315 (227–365), 272 (166–313), and 312 (233–362) respectively. Coastal regions showed higher levels of attention toward asthma, indicating a higher incidence rate. Since 2014, there has been a rapid increase in the level of attention toward asthma, with the provinces of Qinghai, Sichuan, and Guangdong experiencing the fastest growth.ConclusionThere are regional variations in the prevalence of asthma among different provinces in China, and the overall prevalence of asthma is increasing.

Introduction: Data on utilization and clinical outcomes of programmed cell death protein or programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-[L]1) inhibitors in NSCLC with uncommon oncogenic alterations is limited. Methods: This retrospective study used a deidentified U.S. nationwide clinicogenomic database to select patients with advanced nonsquamous NSCLC without EGFR, ALK, or ROS1 alterations, diagnosed from January 1, 2016 to September 30, 2020, who initiated first-line therapy. Our objectives were to summarize characteristics and treatment patterns for patients with four little-studied genomic alterations or driver-negative NSCLC. We estimated Kaplan-Meier real-world time on treatment (rwTOT) and time to next treatment for patients receiving PD-(L)1 inhibitors. The data cutoff was September 30, 2021. Results: Of the 3971 eligible patients, 84 (2%) had NSCLC with BRAF V600E mutation, 117 (3%) had MET exon 14 skipping mutation, 130 (3%) had MET amplification, 91 (2%) had ERBB2 activation mutation, and 691 patients (17%) had driver-negative NSCLC. Patient characteristics differed among cohorts as expected. The most common first-line regimen in each cohort was a PD-(L)1 inhibitor as monotherapy or in combination with chemotherapy. The median rwTOT with anti–PD-(L)1 monotherapy was 4.6 months in the driver-negative cohort and ranged from 2.9 months (ERBB2 mutation) to 7.6 months (BRAF V600E mutation). The median rwTOT with anti–PD-(L)1-chemotherapy combination was 5.2 months in the driver-negative cohort and 6 months in all but the BRAF V600E cohort (17.5 mo). The patterns of real-world time to next treatment results were similar. Conclusions: Substantial use of anti–PD-(L)1 therapy and associated clinical outcomes are consistent with previous real-world findings and suggest no detriment from PD-(L)1 inhibitors for advanced nonsquamous NSCLC harboring one of these four genomic alterations relative to driver-negative NSCLC.

This study aimed to investigate the evolutionary profile (including diversity, activity, and abundance) of retrotransposons (RTNs) with long terminal repeats (LTRs) in ten species of Tetraodontiformes. These species, Arothron firmamentum, Lagocephalus sceleratus, Pao palembangensis, Takifugu bimaculatus, Takifugu flavidus, Takifugu ocellatus, Takifugu rubripes, Tetraodon nigroviridis, Mola mola, and Thamnaconus septentrionalis, are known for having the smallest genomes among vertebrates. Data mining revealed a high diversity and wide distribution of LTR retrotransposons (LTR-RTNs) in these compact vertebrate genomes, with varying abundances among species. A total of 819 full-length LTR-RTN sequences were identified across these genomes, categorized into nine families belonging to four different superfamilies: ERV (Orthoretrovirinae and Epsilon retrovirus), Copia, BEL-PAO, and Gypsy (Gmr, Mag, V-clade, CsRN1, and Barthez). The Gypsy superfamily exhibited the highest diversity. LTR family distribution varied among species, with Takifugu bimaculatus, Takifugu flavidus, Takifugu ocellatus, and Takifugu rubripes having the highest richness of LTR families and sequences. Additionally, evidence of recent invasions was observed in specific tetraodontiform genomes, suggesting potential transposition activity. This study provides insights into the evolution of LTR retrotransposons in Tetraodontiformes, enhancing our understanding of their impact on the structure and evolution of host genomes.

Enterococcus faecium B13, selected from fermentation chili, has been proven to promote animal growth by previous studies, but it belongs to opportunistic pathogens, so a comprehensive evaluation of its probiotic properties and safety is necessary. In this study, the probiotic properties and safety of B13 were evaluated at the genetic and phenotype levels in vitro and then confirmed in vivo. The genome of B13 contains one chromosome and two plasmids. The average nucleotide identity indicated that B13 was most closely related to the fermentation-plant-derived strain. The strain does not carry the major virulence genes of the clinical E. faecium strains but contains aac(6′)-Ii, ant (6)-Ia, msrC genes. The strain had a higher tolerance to acid at pH 3.0, 4.0, and 0.3% bile salt and a 32.83% free radical DPPH clearance rate. It can adhere to Caco-2 cells and reduce the adhesion of E. coli to Caco-2 cells. The safety assessment revealed that the strain showed no hemolysis and did not exhibit gelatinase, ornithine decarboxylase, lysine decarboxylase, or tryptophanase activity. It was sensitive to twelve antibiotics but was resistant to erythromycin, rifampicin, tetracycline, doxycycline, and minocycline. Experiments in vivo have shown that B13 can be located in the ileum and colon and has no adverse effects on experiment animals. After 28 days of feeding, B13 did not remarkable change the α-diversity of the gut flora or increase the virulence genes. Our study demonstrated that E. faecium B13 may be used as a probiotic candidate.

Non-invasive detection of hemoglobin (Hb) concentration is of great clinical value for health screening and intraoperative blood transfusion. However, the accuracy and stability of non-invasive detection still need to be improved to meet clinical requirement. This paper proposes a non-invasive Hb detection method using ensemble extreme learning machine (EELM) regression based on eight-wavelength PhotoPlethysmoGraphic (PPG) signals. Firstly, a mathematical model for non-invasive Hb detection based on the Beer-Lambert law is established. Secondly, the captured eight-channel PPG signals are denoised and fifty-six feature values are extracted according to the derived mathematical model. Thirdly, a recursive feature elimination (RFE) algorithm is used to select the features that contribute most to the Hb prediction. Finally, a regression model is built by integrating several independent ELM models to improve prediction stability and accuracy. Experiments conducted on 249 clinical data points (199 cases as the training dataset and 50 cases as the test dataset) evaluate the proposed method, achieving a root mean square error (RMSE) of 1.72 g/dL and a Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) of 0.76 (p < 0.01) between predicted and reference values. The results demonstrate that the proposed non-invasive Hb detection method exhibits a strong correlation with traditional invasive methods, suggesting its potential for non-invasive detection of Hb concentration.

The interest in endogenous retroviruses (ERVs) has been fueled by their impact on the evolution of the host genome. In this study, we used multiple pipelines to conduct a de novo exploration and annotation of ERVs in 13 species of the Caprinae subfamily. Through analyses of sequence identity, structural organization, and phylogeny, we defined 28 ERV groups within Caprinae, including 19 gamma retrovirus groups and 9 beta retrovirus groups. Notably, we identified four recent and potentially active groups prevalent in the Caprinae genomes. Additionally, our investigation revealed that most long noncoding genes (lncRNA) and protein-coding genes (PC) contain ERV-derived sequences. Specifically, we observed that ERV-derived sequences were present in approximately 75% of protein-coding genes and 81% of lncRNA genes in sheep. Similarly, in goats, ERV-derived sequences were found in approximately 74% of protein-coding genes and 75% of lncRNA genes. Our findings lead to the conclusion that the majority of ERVs in the Caprinae genomes can be categorized as fossils, representing remnants of past retroviral infections that have become permanently integrated into the genomes. Nevertheless, the identification of the Cap_ERV_20, Cap_ERV_21, Cap_ERV_24, and Cap_ERV_25 groups indicates the presence of relatively recent and potentially active ERVs in these genomes. These particular groups may contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Caprinae genome. The identification of putatively active ERVs in the Caprinae genomes raises the possibility of harnessing them for future genetic marker development.

Abstract Owing to excellent performance and a simple mechanism, stretchable piezoresistive strain sensors have been applied to human skin for monitoring physical activities, physiological activities, etc. However, it is still a challenge to simultaneously realize highly sensitive and stretchable piezoresistive strain sensors with high optical transparency. This study reports a transparent and stretchable piezoresistive strain sensor with 2D surface buckling by fabricating ultrathin indium tin oxide (ITO) film on the biaxially pre‐stretched polyacrylate (VHB) elastomer followed by pre‐stretch releasing. To the authors' knowledge, semiconductors are applied for a stretchable piezoresistive strain sensor for the first time. Furthermore, this strain sensor exhibits a high sensitivity of 569, a high transparency of 88% and a high biaxial stretchability of 110% at the same time. This device demonstrates the good long‐term stability over 500 stretching–relaxing cycles. The high sensitivity can be mainly attributed to the piezoresistive effect of the semiconductor where carrier mobility and the resulting resistivity can be significantly changed by the strain. The strain sensors attached to human skin are used to monitor many human motions such as chewing, swallowing, breathing, and walking. ITO‐based strain sensors pave the way toward the development of highly stretchable and sensitive wearable electronics.

Endogenous retroviruses (ERVs) are one of the superfamilies of long terminal repeat retrotransposons (LTRs) in mice and humans. Approximately 8% of the pig genome is composed of sequences derived from LTRs. While the majority of ERVs in pigs have decayed, a small number of full-length copies can still mobilize within the genome. This study investigated the unexplored retroviral insertion polymorphisms (RIPs) generated by the mobilization of full-length ERVs (Fl-ERVs), and evaluated their impact on phenotypic variation to gain insights into the biological role of Fl-ERVs in pigs. Overall, 39 RIPs (insertions or deletions relative to the pig reference genome) generated by Fl-ERVs were predicted by comparative genomic analysis, and 18 of them were confirmed by PCR detection. Four RIP sites (D5, D14, D15, and D18) were further evaluated by population analysis, and all of them displayed polymorphisms in multiple breeds. The RIP site of ERV-D14, which is a Fl-ERV inserted in the STAB2-like gene, was further confirmed by sequencing. Population analysis of the polymorphic site of ERV-D14 reveals that it presents moderate polymorphism information in the Large White pig breed, and the association analysis reveals that the RIP of ERV-D14 is associated with age variations at 30 kg body weight (p < 0.05) and 100 kg body weight (p < 0.01) in the population of Large White pigs (N = 480). Furthermore, the ERV-D14 RIP is associated with changes in the expression of the target gene STAB2-like in the liver, backfat, and leaf fat in Sushan pigs. These data suggest that some Fl-ERVs are still mobilizing in the pig’s genome, and contribute to genomic and phenotypic variations.

As the cornerstone of intelligent transportation systems, accurate traffic prediction can reduce the pressure of urban traffic, reduce the cost of residents’ travel time, and provide a reference basis for urban construction planning. Existing traffic prediction methods focus on spatio-temporal dependence modeling, ignoring the influence of weather factors on spatio-temporal characteristics, and the prediction task has complexity and an uneven distribution in different spatio-temporal scenarios and weather changes. In view of this, we propose a weather interaction-aware spatio-temporal attention network (WST-ANet), in which we integrate feature models and dynamic graph modules in the encoder and decoder, and use a spatio-temporal weather interaction perception module for prediction. Firstly, the contextual semantics of the traffic flows are fused using a feature embedding module to improve the adaptability to weather drivers; then, an encoder–decoder is constructed by combining the Dynamic Graph Module and the WSTA Block, to extract spatio-temporal aggregated correlations in the roadway network; finally, the feature information of the encoder was weighted and aggregated using the cross-focusing mechanism, and attention was paid to the hidden state of the encoding. Traffic flow was predicted using the PeMS04 and PeMS08 datasets and compared with multiple typical baseline models. It was learned through extensive experiments that the accuracy evaluation result is the smallest in WST-ANet, which demonstrated the superiority of the proposed model. This can more accurately predict future changes in traffic in different weather conditions, providing decision makers with a basis for optimizing scenarios.

The service performance of tunnel lining is affected by crack properties and development states. In this paper, numerical simulation models were established to investigate the mechanics characteristics and safety performance for lining structures under different cracks based on the extended finite element method (XFEM). Analyze multiple quantitative factors in simulation, including changes in crack location, crack length, and crack distribution range in the lining structure. The axial force and bending moment of the preset cracks in the lining structures were first studied. The maximum safety factor attenuation rate (Dkmax) was proposed to analyze the impact of longitudinal and annular cracks on the safety performance. The axial force at the vault of the lining arch is the most significantly affected by the combined longitudinal cracks at multiple locations. When the length of a longitudinal crack increases from 1 m to 6 m, the axial force value at the crack point decreases by 33.77%, 36.15%, and 11.32%. However, the bending moment value increases by 4.47 times, 2.50 times, and 1.69 times. Under the influence of longitudinal cracks in an “arch crown + arch shoulder”, “arch crown + arch waist”, and “arch crown + arch shoulder + arch waist”, the axial force in the arch vault increased by 21.55%, decreased by 17.52%, and decreased by 13.45%. The distribution pattern of the bending moment under the influence of circumferential cracks shows convexity at the arch shoulder and arch foot, and concavity at the arch waist and side walls. The safety factor scatter curve with longitudinal cracks shows a gradual transition from a “W” shape to a “U” shape. The safety factor curve with circumferential cracks presents an approximately symmetrical wave-shaped distribution.

The effects of six control parameters, intake valve opening timing (IVO), exhaust valve opening timing (EVO), compression ratio (CR), engine speed, intake temperature, and intake pressure on engine output power, indicated specific fuel consumption (ISFC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions, are analyzed through engine simulation. The six parameters were categorized into two groups based on the degree of influence: high influence (EVO, speed and intake pressure) and low influence (CR, IVO and intake temperature). The relationship between these two groups of parameters and power, ISFC and NOx emissions was explored. Optimization was carried out for each of the two groups of parameters, and the optimization of the high impact parameters resulted in a higher diversity and wider distribution of the solution set. On the other hand, the optimization of the low-impact parameters resulted in a more concentrated distribution of the solution set, while better reflecting the trade-off between the optimization objectives. For the optimal solutions for both sets of parameters, the high-impact parameters provided significant optimization performance compared to the standard operating conditions. Although power and ISFC were optimized, the optimal solution for the low-impact parameter performed poorly with a significant increase in NOx emissions. Therefore, the parameters should be evaluated for optimization using high impact parameters to improve engine performance.

The effect of laser irradiation and tensile stress on the microstructure and soft magnetic properties of the FeSiBNbCu nanocrystalline alloy prepared using a continuous laser has been investigated. The experimental results indicate that a decreased laser scanning speed provides more thermal energy to induce nanocrystals and encourage grain growth. When the scanning speed is excessively high, the crystallization process will cease due to a lack of energy to drive diffusion phase transitions. Nevertheless, the introduction of tensile stress could significantly promote crystallization in FeSiBNbCu alloy samples irradiated at these high laser scanning speeds. This phenomenon can be attributed to the augmentation of compressive thermal stress at the interface between the laser-treated track and the untreated region. This heightened compressive stress promotes the diffusivity of atoms, and, as a result, the transformation from amorphous to crystalline states can be enhanced. As the applied tensile stress increases, both grain size and crystalline volume fraction exhibit a proportional augmentation. Consequently, these changes manifest in the soft magnetic properties. The crystalline volume fraction can reach 62%, and the coercivity is 2.9 A/m at the optimized scanning speed; these values correspond to 54% and 3.3 A/m under specific tensile stress loading.

Abstract To examine the effects of different PM2.5 concentration ranges on daily all-cause mortality, 8768 all-cause deaths were recorded in the database of the Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University. Data of air pollutants (PM2.5 and O3) concentration were provided by the Jinan Environment Monitoring Center. The relative risk of all-cause mortality was assessed using a quasi-Poisson regression model after adjusting for confounding factors. The concentrations of PM2.5 were divided into four ranges 0–35 μg/m3; 35–75 μg/m3; 75–115 μg/m3; 115–150 μg/m3. Effective landslide disaster risk management contributes to sustainable development. A useful method for emergency management and landslide avoidance is Landslide Susceptibility Mapping (LSM). The statistical landslide susceptibility prediction model based on slope unit ignores the re-lationship between landslide triggering factors and spatial characteristics. It disregards the influence of adjacent image elements around the slope-unit element. Therefore, this paper proposes a hardwired kernels-3DCNN approach to LSMs considering spatial-factor features. This method effectively solved the problem of low dimensionality of 3D convolution in the hazard factor layer by combining Prewitt operators to enhance the generation of multi-level 3D cube input data sets. The susceptibility value of the target area was then calculated using a 3D convolution to extract spatial and multi-factor features between them. A geospatial dataset of 402 landslides in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province, China, was created for this study. Nine landslide trigger factors, including topography and geomorphology, stratigraphic lithology, rainfall, and human influences, were employed in the LSM. The research area’s pixel points’ landslide probabilities were then estimated by the training model, yielding the sensitivity maps. According to the results of this study, the 3DCNN model performs better when spatial information are included and trigger variables are taken into account, as shown by the high values of the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and other quantitative metrics. The proposed model outperforms CNN and SVM in AUC by 4.3% and 5.9%, respectively. Thus, the 3DCNN model, with the addition of spatial attributes, effectively improves the prediction accuracy of LSM. At the same time, this paper found that the model performance of the proposed method is related to the actual space size of the landslide body by comparing the impact of input data of different scales on the proposed method.

Currently, stress analysis on direct bonded copper (DBC) is mainly based on a model with symmetrical top and bottom copper layers. These analyses provide thermal-mechanical stress-relieving methods at the outer edge of the copper-ceramic interface in DBC. However, these methods are unsuitable to release the concentrated stress at the inner gap edges where the top copper layer is etched into the circuit pattern. The stress-concentrated phenomenon causes initial delamination at the inner gap edge of the top copper-ceramic interface in DBC usage. Hence, this paper analyzed the mechanism of the phenomenon and proposed a bottom pattern design method to solve this problem. Through stress analysis on a simplified DBC model with etched top copper, the phenomenon can be explained by the large composite stress produced by the opposite bending actions of the top and bottom copper-ceramic interface in DBC. To reduce the effect of bending action on the bottom interface, parallel dimple traces are used on the bottom instead of a mirror-copied gap on consideration of thermal resistance and mechanical strength. The parameters of dimple trace were chosen by simulations on stress-strain results under thermal cycling and thermal resistance calculations in a module packaging. FE results show that the bottom dimple trace with a diameter of 0.4mm and a gap of 2mm can adjust the thermal-induced strain behavior of the singularities at the top copper to be even and sacrifices only a 2% thermal resistance rise of the module packaging. A life prediction model based on strain shows that the bottom design can improve the lifetime of the substrate. The thermal cycling test result on sample DBC and thermal resistance measurement on the module packaged by DBC with bottom pattern design verify the FE analysis. This method can be widely used in the packaging design of power modules using stand-alone DBC substrate.

Abstract Traditional Chinese medicines are an important class of natural products mainly derives from animals, plants and minerals, most of which need to be improved and processed before clinical use due to their own hard texture, impurities or toxicity. As an important part of solid excipients, mineral excipients that contain some metal elements play indispensable and unique roles in the pretreatment process of traditional Chinese medicine. However, deficiency of holistic understanding of the effect of mineral excipients hinders their application and development. This article reviews several mineral excipients including alumen, talci pulvis, soil, soda lime, halloysitum rubrum and cinnabaris systemically. Their processing significance on traditional Chinese medicines were revealed from components, pharmacodynamics and mechanism aspects. Furthermore, prospect and problems including processing technologies, quality standards of mineral excipients and processing mechanism were put forward. This review supply comprehensive information for better and scientific usage of mineral excipients in processing traditional Chinese medicines.

Mechanical compaction is an important diagenetic process in sandstone reservoirs. Particle breakage, which commonly occurs during mechanical compaction, plays a significant role in controlling the physical properties of the reservoir. However, existing numerical simulation methods have limitations in simulating mechanical compaction when considering particle breakage. In this study, a discrete element simulation method of mechanical compaction was proposed based on particle cutting, and the experimental results reported in the literature were used to calibrate the simulation parameters. Finally, this method was applied to the simulation of the mechanical compaction of sandstone to analyze the pore evolution process. The results show that the new simulation method has high computational efficiency and can reflect the process of particle breakage. The simulation results coincide well with the experimental results. In the simulated mechanical compacted process of coarse sandstone, particle breakage is strong in the high-stress stage with a vertical stress of 30 MPa–50 MPa. The porosity and mean radii of pores and throats decreased rapidly, and the number of pores and throats increased rapidly in the high-stress stage. When the vertical stress reached 50 MPa, compared to the simulation results without considering particle breakage, the porosity difference rate caused by particle breakage was 4.63%; the radius difference rates of pores and throats were 2.78% and 6.8%, and the number difference rates of pores and throats were 4.95% and 8.74%, respectively. In the process of mechanical compaction, the pore evolution of the reservoir is controlled by the filling of the pre-existing pore space by the fragments generated through particle breakage and the generation of microfractures. Additionally, the simulation method presented in this study can be applied to complex geological conditions and can be combined with other reservoir simulation methods. The simulation results can provide rich training samples for artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

Accurate and reliable prediction of air pollutant concentrations is important for rational avoidance of air pollution events and government policy responses. However, due to the mobility and dynamics of pollution sources, meteorological conditions, and transformation processes, pollutant concentration predictions are characterized by great uncertainty and instability, making it difficult for existing prediction models to effectively extract spatial and temporal correlations. In this paper, a powerful pollutant prediction model (STA-ResConvLSTM) is proposed to achieve accurate prediction of pollutant concentrations. The model consists of a deep learning network model based on a residual neural network (ResNet), a spatial–temporal attention mechanism, and a convolutional long short-term memory neural network (ConvLSTM). The spatial–temporal attention mechanism is embedded in each residual unit of the ResNet to form a new residual neural network with the spatial–temporal attention mechanism (STA-ResNet). Deep extraction of spatial–temporal distribution features of pollutant concentrations and meteorological data from several cities is carried out using STA-ResNet. Its output is used as an input to the ConvLSTM, which is further analyzed to extract preliminary spatial–temporal distribution features extracted from the STA-ResNet. The model realizes the spatial–temporal correlation of the extracted feature sequences to accurately predict pollutant concentrations in the future. In addition, experimental studies on urban agglomerations around Long Beijing show that the prediction model outperforms various popular baseline models in terms of accuracy and stability. For the single-step prediction task, the proposed pollutant concentration prediction model performs well, exhibiting a root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 9.82. Furthermore, even for the pollutant prediction task of 1 to 48 h, we performed a multi-step prediction and achieved a satisfactory performance, being able to achieve an average RMSE value of 13.49.
