Abstract

International audience; Tesla Motors Inc. a su s'imposer en quelques années comme l'un des principaux constructeurs de véhicules électriques au monde. La Tesla Model S, son premier véhicule phare, suscite toujours aujourd'hui l'intérêt et la curiosité des ingénieurs de par l'approche innovante mais aussi les secrets technologiques du constructeur, notamment autour de l'utilisation d'un moteur asynchrone dans une voiture électrique de grande série. L'objectif de cet article est donc d'étudier les caractéristiques de la machine asynchrone de la Tesla Model S afin d'en proposer une modélisation par éléments finis 2D. Pour cela, les différentes données nécessaires sont rassemblées, complétées et présentées selon leur niveau d'incertitude. Ensuite, un modèle de la machine est réalisé sous le logiciel Altair Flux2D TM. Il est alors validé en s'appuyant sur les performances mesurées ou calculées disponibles dans la littérature.

Abstract

Solving non-linear optimization problems such as physical component sizing or optimal control of a system is still a challenge. Automatic Differentiation (AD) is a way to provide useful information regarding model local sensitivity and helps algorithm finding minima. AD is not new but has recently found great interest in machine learning community. Methodology : In this paper, we are introducing NoLOAD, a Python open source software that helps designers to associate non-linear models to optimization algorithms with AD. Different AD packages are compared (Autograd / Jax) as well as hardware architectures (CPU / GPU). Findings : Jax package is more performative than Autograd packagefor complex models, although it uses more memory to solve optimization problems. Originality : NoLOAD is easy to use for designers because there is no need to change the simulation model which is totally independent of the specifications. It is also a lightweight library than can be used for embedded hardware optimization

International audience; This paper compares a step by step design of a power electronicsconverter with the results obtained using a design by optimization technique, solvingall equations together. “Order one” method is privileged, in order to facilitateseeking a design optimum in a very constrained space of solutions (especially due toElectromagnetic Compatibility). Abstract

International audience; The paper deals with the frequency modelling of EMC phenomena using equivalent circuit (with frequency perturbation sources for the modelling of the switching cells of the static converters) in the context of the sizing by optimization of EMC filters. The paper focusses on the way to obtained automatically a frequency model, including the exact computation of its jacobian, useful in the context of design by deterministic gradient optimization. It mainly focuses on selectivity (optimization contextualization) in the modelling with its interests compared to a generic modelling (without knowing with variables will be constrained in the optimization process). The approach is applied to the optimization of EMC filter for power electronics aircraft context.

OIPE 2014 - Optimization and Inverse Problems in Electromagnetism, DELFT, PAYS-BAS, 10-/09/2014 - 12/09/2014; In electromagnetic research, the optimization of electrical machine is a very common issue. The improvement of computational capabilities allows researchers to improve models and complexity of the optimization problem. In transportation applications, electrical machines are subjected to a large panel of operating points. Moreover, for hybrid vehicles, the sizing problem involves a control problem as a sub-optimization problem (power sharing between electric and thermal transmission). Therefore, a joint optimization of the energy management and sizing of the EM over a driving cycle shall be considered. The paper presents the modelling of the electrical machine based on magnetic circuit equivalence.

Abstract

International audience; Purpose - The frequency simulation and optimisation of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) filter is often computation time consuming. Design/Methodology/approach -The paper proposes an approach for easy and fast modelling and optimization of power electronics structures. It focuses on the EMC filter design. To achieve this task time simulation, FFT and automatic frequency modelling are combined. Findings -An automatic frequency modelling is proposed and also gives automatically the model gradients. Therefore, the model can be used to optimize the EMC filter, but also can help in choosing its topology. Several optimization algorithms are used and compared. Research limitations/implications -The power electronics load is supposed to be a set of predefined harmonic sources, obtained by time simulation + FFT before the optimisation process. Practical implications -The aid to build the frequency model, and their automatic translation for sizing by optimisation allow to design and to compare rapidly several structures or modelling hypothesis on the parasitic elements and circuit imperfections. Originality/value - The frequency model is automatically generated, and sizing criteria on the component (e.g. inductors, capacitor) can be added in an analytical form, for example, to deal with volume or mass criteria.

National audience; La fonction de transfert d'un filtre C.E.M se voit fortement dégradée en haute fréquence en raison d'éléments parasites multiples. Les imperfections des composants d'une part ; et les diverses couplages magnétiques entre tous les éléments du système d'autre part. Ces phénomènes a priori indésirables, peuvent cependant être exploités dans le but d'améliorer la réponse du filtre. Une disposition judicieuse des composants couplée à un tracé astucieux des pistes sont alors nécessaires. Une construction manuelle n'est cependant pas envisageable en raison de la complexité du problème. Abstract

International audience; The paper presents an effective optimization strategy applied in a physical structure optimization of a semiconductor Power MOSFET with expensive constraint computations. In order to deals with inaccuracy due to inevitable numerical errors in the objective function calculation (the power losses of the power MOSFET), the paper proposes to use the Progressive Quadratic Response Surface Method (PQRSM). The paper focuses on three aspects: the inevitable numerical errors in the power losses computation, the PQRSM principle, and finally the comparisons of several optimization methods on this problem.

Abstract

The aim of this work is to define a CAD package of drives from the spécifications of a givenapplication,To obtain the drive performances, the designer uses simulation package before building aprototype. The second to fourth chapters présent such a package whose main purpose is toautomatically générale global équations and simulation softwares.The last two chapters give the principle of an expert System to aid the design of drives. Theyprésent the itérative and systematic aspects of the design process and they propose a formalismto describe the knowledge. This has allowed us to build an expert system that automates somesteps of this process., L'objectif de cette thèse est de définir un outil d'aide à la conception des associations machine -convertisseur et de leurs commandes à partir d'un cahier des charges d'une application donnée. Afin d'établir les performances de ces ensembles, le concepteur utilise dans un premier temps, un outil de simulation de ces associations avant de construire un prototype. Les premiers chapitres sont consacrés à la description d'un tel outil avec comme objectif principal de permettre une génération automatique d'équations globales et de programmes de simulation à partir d'une description modulaire de l'application.Les derniers chapitres abordent les principes d'un système expert d'aide à la conception de ces associations. Ils présentent le coté itératif et systématique de la conception et proposent un formalisme de description de la connaissance qui a permis de mettre en oeuvre un système expert où certaines étapes du processus de conception sont systématisés.
