The Possibility of Telemetric System Design for Automatic Ethological Monitoring of Forest Ants Compared with Mathematical ModelsGradov O.V., Notchenko A.V.This paper provides a novel viewpoint on the tracing of forest ants in natural environment. Our approach offers considerable mathematical advantages, because similar telemetric systems based on a chip (for ex.: charged coupled device) with computer aided data analysis can process on-line-monitoring information extremely rapidly. One can generalize this idea by introducing any other principle of ant trace detection in addition to the luminescent method proposed. Basic Principles of Myrmecological Lab-on-a-Chip Design & Application in Ethological Monitoring of Forest Ants for Automatic Comparison with Mathematical ModelsGradov O.V., Notchenko A.V.This paper describes a new modern construction for ethological monitoring in forest ant colonies. The method to be described here involves some low-cost materials and components. Charge coupled devices or new complementary-symmetry metal–oxide–semiconductor sensors with artificial labyrinth tracks have been successfully used in formicariums or ant colonies. We strongly recommend fluorescent markers as indicators of ant tracks on CMOS or CCD sensors, because this detection method is the most suitable for the problem under consideration. Pemanasan global telah menjadi salah satu topik permasalahan terbesar yang dihadapi pada abad ke-21 ini. Berbagai masalah yang akan muncul dari dampak pemanasan global tentunya akan mengancam kehidupan di Bumi. Dampak tersebut terlihat berkaitan dan dapat memunculkan dampak negatif lainnya. Permasalahan tersebut tentunya sulit untuk diatasi atau dicegah. Namun jika, permasalahan tersebut benar akan terjadi tentunya kehidupan di Bumi telah mendekati akhir. Mitigasi dampak pemanasan global serta beradaptasi untuk mempersiapkan diri dalam menghadapi dampak yang ditimbulkan tersebut adalah pilihan terbaik yang dapat dilakukan.

Setiap wilayah memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi kawasan ekowisata. Pengembangan ekowisata pada suatu wilayah dapat memberikan dampak kemajuan yang besar terhadap suatu wilayah. Salah satu sektor yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi kawasan ekowisata yaitu perkebunan. Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang memiliki perkebunan yang cukup luas. Perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk melihat potensi pengembangan ekowisata di Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang ditinjau dari sektor perkebunan masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan pengamatan pada perkebunan masyarakat dan dikaitkan dengan potensi pengembangan ekowisata. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan di Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi kawasan ekowisata musiman.

Terbentuknya genangan air di ekosistem persawahan pada musim hujan diperkirakan menyebabkan terjadinya perbedaan keberadaan beberapa spesies belalang dibanding pada akhir musim kemarau. Perlu dilakukan penelitian mengenai dampak genangan air terhadap keberadaan beberapa spesies belalang (Orthoptera) di ekosistem persawahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan September sampai dengan Desember 2018 dengan mengamati beberapa spesies belalang di ekosistem persawahan pada akhir musim kemarau dan musim hujan. Hasil dari pengamatan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan keberadaan kondisi beberapa spesies belalang pada akhir musim kemarau dan musim hujan. Hal ini, dikerenakan pada musim hujan terbentuk genangan air yang menyebabkan tenggelamnya beberapa vegetasi sehingga menyebabkan vegetasi yang tumbuh menjadi berkelompok. Kondisi ini yang diperkirakan menyebabkan belalang beradaptasi terhadap adanya perubahan sehingga terjadi perbedaan keberadaan beberapa spesies belalang pada akhir musim kemarau dan musim hujan.

Embam ( Mangifera odorata ) is one of mango species ( Mangifera spp.) which has a typical aroma. Some species of fruit flies are more interested in laying eggs on mango fruit compared to other fruits. It does not rule out the possibility that some insect species use fruit which falling to laying eggs or as a food source. Need a research to be done about the potential of falling fruit to support insects survival. This research was conducted in November 2018 by observing of falling embam fruit under the tree to see what insects contained in the fruit and analyze the benefits for these insects. Found 6 insects species from a total of 6 families and 2 order on embam fruit which falling. Insect species of order Diptera are most commonly found with a total of 5 species from 5 families. Insect species from order Hymenoptera found only 1 species. The difference on embam fruit ripeity and condition of embam fruit affects insects species which found. on a ripe embam fruit can be useful as a food source for insects, while in rotten embam fruit can be beneficial for insects to laying eggs.

Desa Serdang Menang merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang, Kabupaten Ogan komring Ilir memiliki beragam ekosistem, mulai dari ekosistem sungai, persawahan, perkebunan, dan permukiman yang tentunya juga memiliki keragaman spesies yang ada didalamnya. Keragaman tipe ekosistem juga mempengaruhi keberadaan kupu-kupu. Perlu dilakukan inventarisasi kupu-kupu di Desa Serdang Menang, Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang, Kabupaten Ogan komering Ilir untuk mengetahui spesies kupu-kupu apa saja yang ada. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Serdang Menang, Kecamatan Sirah Pulau Padang, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir pada Oktober 2018. Pengambilan sampel kupu-kupu dengan menggunakan metode jelajah. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan insecting net. Indentifikai spesies kupu-kupu dilakukan dengan mencocokan sampel dengan foto kupu-kupu yang sudah diidentifikasi jenisnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 10 spesies kupu-kupu dari 6 Famili yaitu Carterocephalus palaemon dari Famili Hesperiidae, Euchrysops cnejus dari Famili Lycaenidae, Danaus melanippus, Maniola jurtina, dan Neptis hylas dari Famili Nymphalidae, Papilio lowi dari Famili Papilionidae, Appias libythea, Catopsilia pyranthe, dan Eurema hecabe dari Famili Pieridae, dan Abisara echerius dari Famili Riodinidae. Kupu-kupu yang ditemukan paling banyak terdapat pada perbatasan ekosistem perkebunan dan persawahan.

Deforestation and biodiversity loss in agroecosystems are generally the result of rational choices, not of a lack of awareness or knowledge. Despite both scientific evidence and traditional knowledge that supports the value of diverse production systems for ecosystem services and resilience, a trend of agroecosystem intensification is apparent across tropical regions. These transitions happen in spite of policies that prohibit such transformations. We present a participatory modelling study run (1) to understand the drivers of landscape transition and (2) to explore the livelihood and environmental impacts of tenure changes in the coffee agroforestry systems of Kodagu (India). The components of the system, key actors and resources, and their interactions were defined with stakeholders, following the companion modelling (ComMod) approach. The underlying ecological processes driving the system were validated through expert knowledge and scientific literature. The conceptual model was transformed into a Role Playing Game and validated by 8 workshops with 57 participants. Two scenarios were explored, a No Policy Change as baseline, and a Restitution of Rights where rights to cut the native trees are handed over to farmers. Our results suggest the landscape transition is likely to continue unabated unless there is a change to the current policy framework. However, the Restitution of tree Rights risks speeding up the process rather than reversing it, as slow variables such the differential growth rate between exotic and native tree species kick in.

Diversity of plants species in post harvest rice field ecosystem area tends to be higher compared to before harvest. Tortoise beetles can be a threat to plants species that exist in rice field ecosystem area. Serdang Menang Village has a fairly extensive rice field ecosystem area. An inventory of tortoise beetles in rice field ecosystem area, Serdang Menang Village will be very helpful in potential estimating of tortoise beetles to plants that exist in rice field ecosystem area, Serdang Menang Village. Determination of this sampling location was done randomly in post harvest rice field ecosystem area, Serdang Menang Village. The sampling method uses small insecting net and hand picking methods. Species of tortoise beetles found were 5 species ( Aspidomorpha miliaris , Cassida subreticulata , Cassida circumdata , Cassida sp., dan Doloyala sp.) of a total 3 genera. Cassida circumdata and Aspidomorpha miliaris is tortoise beetles species that easiest to be found in this rice field ecosystem area which indicates that population is more than any species of tortoise beetles found. Cassida circumdata and Aspidomorpha miliaris can be major threat in rice field ecosystem area compared any species of tortoise beetles that found because a population is estimated to be more.

Extremophiles, the microorganisms thriving in extreme environments, provide valuable resources for practicing novel biotechnological processes. Pakistan homes a wide spectrum of extreme environments which harbor various biotechnologically significant microorganisms. This review gauges the structural and functional bacterial diversity of several extreme environments, emphasizing their potentials as a source of extremozymes, and in bioleaching, bioremediation, and bioenergy production at regional level. Further, this review highlights a panoramic account of the local natural conservatories of extremophiles. The inadequacies of current fragmental research are discussed with suggestions to quantitatively define the structural and functional diversity of unexplored extreme localities.

Dicotyledonous plant is a plant that has the characteristic that transporter tissue files are in a loop, while monocot plants are plants that have the characteristic that the tissue transporter beam spread. Morphological differences between plants dicots and monocots can be seen from the roots, stems, leaves and flowers. Dicotyledonous plants rooted riding, rod cambium, pinnate leaves and flower jewelry section consisting of 2, 4, 5 or multiples thereof. Monocot fibrous roots, stems not cambium, leaves curved, parallel, flower jewelry section consists of 3 or multiples thereof. The research was conducted on Sunday, May 15, 2016, in the Serdang Menang village, Sirah Pulau Padang, Ogan Komering Ilir. Tools and materials used are stationery and notepads. Number of dicotyledonous plants located in the village of Serdang Menang totaling 94 species, while the monocot plants totaling 30 species were found. Total comparison 75, 8% (plants dikotil) and 24, 2% (plants monocots).

Praying mantis included in the Mantodea order have good adaptations with camouflage and mimicry. The existence of a praying mantis in an ecosystem can help in controlling dangerous insect populations. Serdang Menang Village, Sirah Pulau Padang Sub-district, Ogan Komering Ilir District has various types of ecosystems such as plantation ecosystems, rice fields, settlements, and rivers. Need to do an inventory of praying mantis to complete data on fauna in Indonesia. This research was conducted in Serdang Menang Village in October 2018 by collecting samples of praying mantis around the green ecosystem. The results of the study only obtained 1 species of praying mantis, namely Heirodula formosana . Heirodula formosana which is found is green and some are brown. It can be concluded that variety of praying mantis in Serdang Menang Village is low.

The formation of standing water in the rice field ecosystem in the rainy season is estimated to cause differences in the existence of several species of grasshoppers compared to the end of dry season. Research needs to be done on impact of standing water on the existence of several species of grasshoppers (Orthoptera) in the rice field ecosystem. This research was conducted from September to December 2018 by observing several species of grasshoppers in the rice field ecosystem at the end of the dry season and the rainy season. The results of the observations indicate a difference in the presence of several species of grasshoppers at the end of the dry season and the rainy season. This is because in the rainy season formed a standing water forms which causes the sinking of some vegetation to cause vegetation to grow into groups. This condition is thought to cause grasshoppers to adaptation to changes so that there are differences in the presence of several species of grasshoppers at the end of dry season and rainy season.
