Abstract: Aims: The Pros-IT CNR project aims to monitor a sample of Italian males ≥18years of age who have been diagnosed in the participating centers with incident prostate cancer, by analyzing their clinical features, treatment protocols and outcome results in relation to quality of life. Methods: Pros-IT CNR is an observational, prospective, multicenter study. The National Research Council (CNR), Neuroscience Institute, Aging Branch (Padua) is the promoting center. Ninety-seven Italian centers located throughout Italy were involved. The field study began in September 1, 2014. Subjects eligible were diagnosed with biopsy-verified prostate cancer, naïve. A sample size of 1500 patients was contemplated. A baseline assessment including anamnestic data, clinical history, risk factors, the initial diagnosis, cancer staging information and quality of life (Italian UCLA Prostate Cancer Index; SF-12 Scale) was completed. Six months after the initial diagnosis, a second assessment evaluating the patient’s health status, the treatment carried out, and the quality of life will be made. A third assessment, evaluating the treatment follow-up and the quality of life, will be made 12months after the initial diagnosis. The 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th assessments, similar to the third, will be completed 24, 36, 48 and 60months after the initial diagnosis, respectively, and will include also a Food Frequency Questionnaire and the Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly. Discussion: The study will provide information on patients’ quality of life and its variations over time in relation to the treatments received for the prostate cancer.

2. Three-Tesla Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography Imaging in Three-Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy for Localized Prostate Cancer

Abstract: Aims and background: we evaluate CT-3Tesla MRI fusion in conformal radiotherapy for localized prostate cancer.Methods: 18 consecutive patients underwent a 3T MRI scan under radiotherapy planning conditions, after the CT scan. Bowel and bladder preparation were prescribed. CT and MR images were automatically fused; prostate and seminal vesicles were contoured on CT and on MRI, organs at risk were defined on CT-MRI fusion. Late rectal and sexual toxicity, differences in target volume between MRI and CT and differences in rectal and penile bulb dose distribution based on CT only or on CT-MRI fusion were evaluated.Results: one patient experienced a late rectal toxicity; no patient had sexual toxicity. The difference between the mean MRI and CT target volumes was statistically significant (p = 0.0001 paired Student's t-test). The dose-volume histogram (DVH) analysis shows a significant reduction of the dose received by the rectum and the penile bulb in MRI-plans compared to CT-plans.Conclusions: 3 Tesla MRI scan under radiotherapy planning conditions along with bowel preparation significantly improves the definition of the target volume sparing normal tissue irradiation.

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Ischemia time during partial nephrectomy (PN) is among the greatest determinants of acute kidney injury (AKI). Whether this association is affected by the preoperative risk of AKI has never been investigated.OBJECTIVE: To assess the effect of the interaction between the preoperative risk of AKI and ischemia time on the probability of AKI during PN.DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS: Data of 944 patients treated with on-clamp PN for cT1 renal tumors were extracted from the Registry of Conservative and Radical Surgery for Cortical Renal Tumor Disease (RECORD2) database, a prospective multicenter project.OUTCOME MEASUREMENTS AND STATISTICAL ANALYSIS: We estimated the preoperative risk of AKI (defined according to the risk/injury/failure/loss/end-stage [RIFLE] criteria) according to age, baseline renal function, clinical stage, preoperative aspects and dimensions used for an anatomical (PADUA) score, and surgical approach. Classification and regression tree (CART) analysis identified patients at "high" and "low" risk of AKI. Finally, we plotted the probability of AKI over ischemia time stratified by the preoperative risk of AKI.RESULTS AND LIMITATIONS: Overall, 235 (25%) patients experienced AKI after surgery. At multivariable analysis, older patients, those with more complex tumors, those with higher baseline function, and those treated with open surgery had an increased risk of AKI (all p ≤ 0.011). According to the first split at CART analysis, patients were categorized as those with "high" and "low" risk of AKI having a probability of >40% or 20 min of ischemia was 13% versus 28% (absolute risk increase 15%). The risk of AKI for high-risk patients who had 20 min of ischemia was 31% versus 77%. This corresponds to an absolute risk increase of 45%. Limitations include retrospective data analyses and lack of surgeons' prior experience.CONCLUSIONS: Ischemia time during PN has different implications for patients with different health status. Clamp time seems less clinically relevant for patients in good conditions who may endure prolonged ischemia with a mild increase in the risk of AKI, whereas frail patients seem to be more vulnerable to ischemic damage even for short clamp time. For individualized intra- and postoperative management, duration of ischemia needs to be questioned in the context of the individual health status.PATIENT SUMMARY: Functional sequelae related to ischemia time during partial nephrectomy depend on baseline health status. The correlation between the duration of ischemia and baseline health status should be taken into account toward individualized intra- and postoperative management.

Abstract: Introduction We aimed to test the hypothesis that the immune-modulatory effect of statins may improve survival outcomes in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). We focused on a cohort of patients diagnosed with high risk NMIBC, that were treated with intravesical BCG immunotherapy. Patients and methods We included patients at first diagnosis of T1 high grade NMIBC after transurethral resection of bladder (TURB). All procedures were performed at 18 different tertiary institutions between January 2002 and December 2012. Univariable and multivariable models were used to test differences in terms of residual tumour, disease recurrence, disease progression and overall mortality (OM) rates. Results Overall, 1510 patients with T1 high grade NMIBC at TURB were included in our analyses. Of these, 402 (26.6%) were statin users. At multivariable analysis, statin use was associated with a higher rates of high grade BC at re-TURB (OR: 1.37, 95%CI: 1.04-1.78; p=0.022), while at follow-up it was not independently associated with OM (HR: 0.71, 95%CI: 0.50-1.03; p=0.068) and disease progression rates (HR: 0.97, 95%CI: 0.79-1.19; p=0.753). Conversely, statin use has been shown to be independently associated with a lower risk of recurrence (HR:0.80, 95%CI: 0.67-0.95; p=0.009). The median recurrence-free survival was 47 (95%CI 40-49) months for those classified as non-statin users vs. 53 (95%CI 48-68) months in those classified as statin users. Conclusions Statin daily intake do not compromise oncological outcomes in high risk NMIBC patients treated with BCG. Moreover, statin may have a beneficial effect on recurrence rates in this cohort of patients.

Abstract: Background An accurate and early diagnosis of bladder cancer (BC) is essential to offer patients the most appropriate treatment and the highest cure rate. For this reason, patients need to be best stratified by class and risk factors. We aimed to develop a score able to better predict cancer outcomes, using serum variables of inflammation. Methods A total of 1,510 high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) patients were included in this retrospective observational study. Patients with pathologically proven T1 HG/G3 at first TURBT were included. Systemic combined inflammatory score (SCIS) was calculated according to systemic inflammatory markers (SIM), modified Glasgow prognostic score (mGPS), and prognostic nutritional index (PNI) dichotomized (final score from 0 to 3). Results After 48 months of follow-up (IQR 40.0-73.0), 727 patients recurred (48.1%), 485 progressed (32.1%), 81 died for cancer (7.0%), and 163 died for overall causes (10.8%). Overall, 231 (15.3%) patients had concomitant Cis, 669 (44.3%) patients had multifocal pathology, 967 (64.1%) patients had tumor size >3 cm. Overall, 357 (23.6%) patients received immediate-intravesical therapy, 1,356 (89.8%) received adjuvant intravesical therapy, of which 1,382 (91.5%) received BCG, 266 (17.6%) patients received mitomycin C, 4 (0.5%) patients received others intravesical therapy. Higher SCIS was independently predictive of recurrence (hazard ratio HR 1.5, 1.3 and 2.2) and cancer specific mortality for SCIS 0 and 3 (HR: 1.61 and 2.3), and overall mortality for SCIS 0 and 3 (HR: 2.4 and 3.2). Conversely, SCIS was not associated with a higher probability of progression. Conclusions The inclusion of the SCIS in clinical practice is simple to apply and can help improve the prediction of cancer outcomes. It can identify patients with high-grade BC who are more likely to experience disease mortality.

Abstract: The COVID-19 outbreak, in a few weeks, overloaded Italian hospitals, and the majority of medical procedures were postponed. During the pandemic, with hospital reorganization, clinical and learning activities performed by residents suffered a forced remodulation. The objective of this study is to investigate how urology training in Italy has been affected during the COVID-19 era. In this multi-academic study, we compared residents' training during the highest outbreak level with their previous activity. Overall 387 (67.1%) of the 577 Italian Urology residents participated in a 72-h anonymous online survey with 36 items sent via email. The main outcomes were clinical/surgical activities, social distancing, distance learning, and telemedicine. Clinical and learning activity was significantly reduced for the overall group, and after categorizing residents as those working only in COVID hospitals, both “junior” and “senior” residents, and those working in any of three geographical areas created (Italian regions were clustered in three major zones according to the prevalence of COVID-19). A significant decrease in outpatient activity, invasive diagnostic procedures, and endoscopic and major surgeries was reported. Through multivariate analysis, the specific year of residency has been found to be an independent predictor for all response modification. Being in zone 3 and zone 2 and having “senior” resident status were independent predictors associated with a lower reduction of the clinical and learning activity. Working in a COVID hospital and having “senior” resident status were independent predictors associated with higher reduction of the outpatient activity. Working in zone 3 and having “senior” resident status were independent predictors of lower and higher outpatient surgical activity, respectively. Working in a COVID hospital was an independent predictor associated with robotic surgical activity. The majority of residents reported that distance teaching and multidisciplinary virtual meetings are still not used, and 44.8% reported that their relationships with colleagues decreased. The COVID-19 pandemic presents an unprecedented challenge, including changes in the training and education of urology residents. The COVID era can offer an opportunity to balance and implement innovative solutions that can bridge the educational gap and can be part of future urology training.

Abstract: Objectives: The aim of this multicenter study was to investigate the prognostic role of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) comorbidity in a large multi-institutional cohort of patients with primary T1HG/G3 non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) treated with transurethral resection of the bladder (TURB). Materials and methods: A total of 1,172 patients with primary T1 HG/G3 who had NMIBC on re-TURB and who received adjuvant intravesical bacillus Calmette-Guérin therapy with maintenance were included. Endpoints were recurrence-free survival and progression-free survival. Results: A total of 231 (19.7%) of patients had T2DM prior to TURB. Five-year recurrence-free survival estimates were 12.5% in patients with T2DM compared to 36% in patients without T2DM, P < 0.0001. Five-year PFS estimates were 60.5% in patients with T2DM compared to 70.2% in patients without T2DM, P = 0.003. T2DM was independently associated with disease recurrence (hazard ratio = 1.41; 95% confidence interval = 1.20–1.66, P < 0.001) and progression (hazard ratio = 1.27; 95% confidence interval = 0.99–1.63, P < 0.001), after adjusting for other known predictive factors such as tumor size, multifocality, T1G3 on re-TURB, body mass index, lymphovascular invasion, and neutrophil-to-lymphocytes ratio. Conclusions: Given the potential implications for management, prospective validation of this finding along with translational studies designed to investigate the underlying biology of such an association are warranted.

Abstract: Objective To identify meaningful predictors and to develop a nomogram of postoperative surgical complications in patients treated with partial nephrectomy (PN). Patients and methods We prospectively evaluated 4308 consecutive patients who had surgical treatment for renal tumours, between 2013 and 2016, at 26 Italian urological centres (RECORd 2 project). A multivariable logistic regression for surgical complications was performed. A nomogram was created from the multivariable model. Internal validation processes were performed using bootstrapping with 1000 repetitions. Results Overall, 2584 patients who underwent PN were evaluated for the final analyses. The median (interquartile [IQR]) American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) score was 2 (2-3). In all, 72.4% of patients had clinical T1a (cT1a) stage tumours. The median (IQR) Preoperative Aspects and Dimensions Used for an Anatomical (PADUA) score was 7 (6-8). Overall, 34.3%, 27.7%, 38% of patients underwent open PN (OPN), laparoscopic PN (LPN), and robot-assisted PN (RAPN). Overall and major postoperative surgical complications were recorded in 10.2% and 2.5% of patients, respectively. At multivariable analysis, age, ASA score, cT2 vs cT1a stage, PADUA score, preoperative anaemia, OPN and LPN vs RAPN, were significant predictive factors of postoperative surgical complications. We used these variables to construct a nomogram for predicting the risk of postoperative surgical complications. At decision curve analysis, the nomogram led to superior outcomes for any decision associated with a threshold probability of >5%. Conclusion Several clinical predictors have been associated with postoperative surgical complications after PN. We used this information to develop and internally validate a nomogram to predict such risk.

Abstract: International audience; PURPOSE:To compare the outcomes of PN to those of RN in very elderly patients treated for clinically localized renal tumor.PATIENTS AND METHODS:A purpose-built multi-institutional international database (RESURGE project) was used for this retrospective analysis. Patients over 75 years old and surgically treated for a suspicious of localized renal with either PN or RN were included in this database. Surgical, renal function and oncological outcomes were analyzed. Propensity scores for the predicted probability to receive PN in each patient were estimated by logistic regression models. Cox proportional hazard models were estimated to determine the relative change in hazard associated with PN vs RN on overall mortality (OM), cancer-specific mortality (CSM) and other-cause mortality (OCM).RESULTS:A total of 613 patients who underwent RN were successfully matched with 613 controls who underwent PN. Higher overall complication rate was recorded in the PN group (33% vs 25%; p = 0.01). Median follow-up for the entire cohort was 35 months (interquartile range [IQR] 13-63 months). Abstract: PURPOSE: The body mass index (BMI) may be associated with an increased incidence and aggressiveness of urological cancers. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the impact of the BMI on survival in patients with T1G3 non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). METHODS: A total of 1155 T1G3 NMIBC patients from 13 academic institutions were retrospectively reviewed and patients administered adjuvant intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) immunotherapy with maintenance were included. Multivariable Cox regression analysis was performed to identify factors predictive of recurrence and progression. RESULTS: After re-TURBT, 288 patients (27.53%) showed residual high-grade NMIBC, while 867 (82.89%) were negative. During follow-up, 678 (64.82%) suffered recurrence, and 303 (30%) progression, 150 (14.34%) died of all causes, and 77 (7.36%) died of bladder cancer. At multivariate analysis, tumor size (hazard ratio [HR]:1.3; p = 0.001), and multifocality (HR:1.24; p = 0.004) were significantly associated with recurrence (c-index for the model:55.98). Abstract: Background: Serum levels of neutrophils, platelets, and lymphocytes have been recognized as factors related to poor prognosis for many solid tumors, including bladder cancer (BC). Objective: To evaluate the prognostic role of the combination of the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and lymphocyte/monocyte ratio (LMR) in patients with high-risk non–muscle-invasive urothelial BC (NIMBC). Design, setting, and participants: A total of 1151 NMIBC patients who underwent first transurethral resection of the bladder tumor (TURBT) at 13 academic institutions between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2012 were included in this analysis. The median follow-up was 48 mo. Intervention: TURBT with intravesical chemotherapy or immunotherapy. Outcome measurements and statistical analysis: Multivariable Cox regression analysis was performed to identify factors predictive of recurrence, progression, cancer-specific mortality, and overall mortality. A systemic inflammatory marker (SIM) score was calculated based on cutoffs for NLR, PLR, and LMR. Results and limitations: The 48-mo recurrence-free survival was 80.8%, 47.35%, 20.67%, and 17.06% for patients with an SIM score of 0, 1, 2, and 3, respectively (p < 0.01, log-rank test) while the corresponding 48-mo progression free-survival was 92.0%, 75.67%, 72.85%, and 63.1% (p < 0.01, log-rank test). SIM scores of 1, 2, and 3 were associated with recurrence (hazard ratio [HR] 3.73, 7.06, and 7.88) and progression (HR 3.15, 4.41, and 5.83). Limitations include the lack of external validation and comparison to other clinical risk models. Conclusions: Patients with high-grade T1 stage NMIBC with high SIM scores have worse oncologic outcomes in terms of recurrence and progression. Further studies should be conducted to stratify patients according to SIM scores to identify individuals who might benefit from early cystectomy. Patient summary: In this study, we defined a risk score (the SIM score) based on the measurement of routine systemic inflammatory markers. This score can identify patients with high-grade bladder cancer not invading the muscular layer who are more likely to suffer from tumor recurrence and progression. Therefore, the score could be used to select patients who might benefit from early bladder removal. Patients with high-risk non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer (BC) experienced greater recurrence and progression according to systemic inflammatory markers. This score could be used to select patients who might benefit from early cystectomy. The availability of these biomarkers in routine clinical practice gives further relevance to identification of the prognostic role of immune cells in patients with BC. These results could be translated into clinical practice to stratify patients who might benefit from early cystectomy.

Abstract: The aim of this multi-institutional study was to identify predictors of residual high-grade (HG) disease at re-transurethral resection (reTUR) in a large cohort of primary T1 HG/Grade 3 (G3) bladder cancer patients. A total of 1155 patients with primary T1 HG/G3 bladder cancer from 13 academic institutions that underwent a reTUR within 6 weeks after first TUR were evaluated. Logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the association of predictive factors with residual HG at reTUR. Residual HG cancer was found in 288 (24.9%) of patients at reTUR. Patients presenting residual HG cancer were more likely to have carcinoma in situ (CIS) at first resection (p=25 kg/m2. On multivariable analysis, independent predictors for HG residual disease at reTUR were tumor size >3cm (OR = 1.37; 95% CI: 1.02-1.84, p=0.03), concomitant CIS (OR 1.92; 95% CI: 1.32-2.78, p=0.001), being overweight (OR= 2.08; 95% CI: 1.44-3.01, p=25 kg/m2., This study was supported by "Fondazione Muto", Naples-Italy. Abstract: Background There is no clear consensus as to the optimal method of entry in laparoscopic renal surgery and no reports have compared them in Urology. To analyze contemporary practice patterns in entry technique and port placement for laparoscopic kidney surgery. Methods We identified 60 high volume urological laparoscopic centers. A purpose-built questionnaire was sent to surgeons. The survey included 22 questions regarding access techniques and port configuration during laparoscopic kidney surgery. Data on were collected and retrospectively analyzed. Concordance among port configurations was assessed using Cohen's Kappa statistics. Results The survey was sent to 60 surgeons and completed by 32 of them. Surgical procedures included were laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (1177 LRN/year) and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (1047 LPN/year). The transperitoneal route was preferred (85%). Hasson technique was used for the access in 55% of the cases. Patient lateral recumbent position is the most frequently used during the port placement (41%). Although there is a high variability in the port positioning among the surgeons, in more than 90% of cases it was found a specific concordance in triangulation of optics and operating trocars. There were no significant differences between port configuration in LRN and LPN. Limitations include retrospective design and limited sample. Conclusions A standard port configuration has not been previously reported in urological literature. Our study suggests that the transperitoneal approach, the Hasson technique and a specific triangulation of optics and operating trocars have a significant concordance in some high volume laparoscopic urologic centers.

Abstract: Background To evaluate the safety and efficacy of abiraterone acetate (AA) in the “real life” clinical practice for men with chemotherapy-naïve metastatic castration-resistant prostate. Methods A consecutive series of patients with mCRPC in 9 Italian tertiary centres treated with AA was collected. Demographics, clinical parameters, treatment outcomes and toxicity were recorded. The Brief Pain Inventory scale Q3 was tracked and patient treatment satisfaction was evaluated. Survival curves were estimated by the method of Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression and compared by the log-rank test statistic. Results We included 145 patients (mean age 76.5y). All patients were on androgen deprivation therapy. Patients had prior radiotherapy, radical prostatectomy, both treatments or exclusive androgen deprivation therapy in 17%, 33%, 9% and 40%, respectively. 57% of the patients had a Gleason score higher more than 7 at diagnosis. 62% were asymptomatic patients. The median serum total PSA at AA start was 17 ng/mL (range 0,4–2100). The median exposure to AA was 10 months (range 1–35). The proportion of patients achieving a PSA decline ≥50% at 12 weeks was 49%. Distribution of patient satisfaction was 32% “greatly improved”, 38% “improved”, 24% “not changed”, 5.5% “worsened”. Grade 3 and 4 toxicity was recorded in 17/145 patients 11.7% (70% cardiovascular events, 30% critical elevation of AST/ALT levels). At the last follow-up, median progression free and overall survival were 17 and 26.5 months, respectively. Both outcomes significantly correlated with the presence of pain, patient satisfaction, PSA baseline and PSA decline. Conclusions The AA is effective and well tolerated in asymptomatic or slightly symptomatic mCRPC in a “real life” setting. The survival outcomes are influenced by the presence of pain, patient satisfaction, baseline PSA and PSA decline. Abiraterone acetate is a novel treatment for metastatic prostate cancer characterized by good safety and oncologic efficacy. Few studies have investigated patients' satisfaction with treatment. Our data show that abiraterone acetate is associated with good satisfaction with treatment and that patient's satisfaction can be a predictor of good oncologic outcomes. Introduction Abiraterone acetate (AA) gives a significant improvement in survival for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) before and after chemotherapy and has a favorable effect on patients' health-related quality of life and pain. Only a few studies have investigated patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in AA treatment for mCRPC. The aim of this study was to investigate patients' satisfaction in men affected by mCRPC treated with AA. Materials and Methods This was a retrospective analysis of a database of consecutive chemonaive patients with progressive mCRPC. Patients were treated with AA until disease progression, death, or unacceptable toxicity. Evaluation was performed at baseline and every 4 weeks by means of physical examination and laboratory studies. Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group score, pain symptoms, treatment-related toxicity, prostate-specific antigen (PSA), and overall and progression-free survival were recorded. Satisfaction with treatment was investigated at 6 months by means of a 4-point arbitrary scale. Results One-hundred twenty-eight patients were enrolled. Patients' satisfaction with treatment was “greatly improved” in 36.1% of patients and “improved” in 32.4% of them. Patients with higher satisfaction had lower baseline and final PSA values (P < .05), lower PSA levels at 12 weeks (P = .080), and less pain symptoms and lower Brief Pain Inventory scores (P = .001). Satisfaction with treatment was significantly correlated with baseline PSA level (P = .018), presence of pain (P = .007), duration of androgen deprivation therapy >12 months (P = .025), and number of hormonal manipulations (P = .051). Progression-free survival significantly correlated with patient satisfaction (P < .001). Conclusion AA is safe and well tolerated in chemonaive mCRPC patients, ensures good oncological and PROs. Patient's satisfaction is a predictor of progression-free survival.

Abstract: Aim: A higher Gleason score was associated with a lower tumor urotensin II receptor (UTII-R) expression in prostate cancer patients. Methods: A retrospective review of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tumor tissue derived from those who had prostatectomy and matching biopsy specimens was conducted at six Institutions. UTII-R expression was evaluated on biopsy by immunohistochemistry. Results: A total of 58 subjects undergoing radical prostatectomy were included. At multivariate analysis, low UTII-R expression was a significant predictor of Gleason upgrading, with an odds ratio of 10.3 (95% CI: 1.55–68.4), and of pathology upstaging, with an odds ratio of 11.1 (95% CI: 1.23–100.48). Conclusions: UTII-R expression on biopsy was associated with Gleason upgrading and pathology upstaging in prostate cancer patients.

Abstract: Recently, many studies explored the role of inflammation parameters in the prognosis of urinary cancers, but the results were not consistent. The modified Glasgow Prognostic Score (mGPS), a systemic inflammation marker, is a prognostic marker in various types of cancers. The aim of the present study was to investigate the usefulness of the preoperative mGPS as predictor of recurrence-free (RFS), overall (OS), and cancer-specific (CSS) survivals in a large cohort of urothelial bladder cancer (UBC) patients.A total of 1037 patients with UBC were included in this study with a median follow-up of 22 months (range 3-60 months). An mGPS = 0 was observed in 646 patients (62.3%), mGPS = 1 in 297 patients (28.6 %), and mGPS = 2 in 94 patients (9.1%).In our study cohort, subjects with an mGPS equal to 2 had a significantly shorter median RFS compared with subjects with mGPS equal to 1 (16 vs 19 months, hazard ratio [HR] 1.54, 95% CI 1.31-1.81, P < 0.001) or with subjects with mGPS equal to 0 (16 vs 29 months, HR 2.38, 95% CI 1.86-3.05, P < 0.001). The association between mGPS and RFS was confirmed by weighted multivariate Cox model. Although in univariate analysis higher mGPS was associated with lower OS and CSS, this association disappeared in multivariate analysis where only the presence of lymph node-positive bladder cancer and T4 stage were predictors of worse prognosis for OS and CSS.In conclusion, the mGPS is an easily measured and inexpensive prognostic marker that was significantly associated with RFS in UBC patients.
