In a discussion of several liberal education programs for executives, those run for American Telephone and Telegraph at the University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, Dartmouth College, Williams College, Northwestern University, and programs at Clark University, Southwestern University, Wabash College, Pomona College, Aspen Institute, the University of Denver, the University of Akron, and the Vassar Institute are outlined and compared. All the programs stem from industry's awareness that to develop his full potential, a person needs to have a broad education rather than merely a specialty; the assumption is made that for many people, a liberal education is most profitable after years of a specialized job, rather than before, and a special, often residential, program must be devised so that one can see liberal education in the context of one's daily life. The programs are noncredit, have few participants in order to encourage discussion, emphasize humanities and values, try to provide experiences greatly different from those of daily life, and have had difficulties in attempting followup and evaluation. Korean universities have sought sustainable future-oriented liberal arts education while exploring the role of liberal arts education in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. Even so, unresolved issues arising from historical development should be overcome to take a great step toward innovating liberal arts education. The purpose of this study is to identify problems that appeared in the historical development process of liberal arts education at Korean universities and to derive overcoming tasks. The historical development of liberal arts education at Korean universities can be divided into three stages: Formation Period (1945-1972), Experimental Period (1973-2009), and Autonomous Period (2010-present). The issues that emerged in this development process have two characteristics: confusion in the identity of liberal arts education and development through government control and support. For the sustainable future of liberal arts education, it is necessary to overcome misleading perceptions that hinder the realization of the true meaning of liberal arts education and establish the identity of liberal arts education. Universities should secure autonomy from the government and more actively strengthen and innovate liberal arts education.

The purpose of this work was an empirical study of assessing the quality of inclusive education in the regions of the Russian Federation. The article presents the results of monitoring the quality of the implementation of inclusive education in general educational organizations of the regions of the Russian Federation. The criteria for a comprehensive assessment of the quality of inclusive education are highlighted. Discrepancies in assessments of the quality of individual parameters of inclusive education in the regions were revealed, ways of increasing its effectiveness were outlined.

The paper gives a holistic picture of the women entrepreneurship in India and its gender differentials by using various national-level data. It aims to analyse the condition of overall women employment, operational and economic characteristics, access to credit and other infrastructural facilities and entrepreneurial activity of the women-owned enterprises. The study reveals that most of the women are engaged in self-financed, small own account enterprises, without any hired workers, and are operating from within the household premises, few even without having a fixed location. These, along with the lack of access to basic infrastructural facilities, signify women entrepreneurship as necessity-driven and not opportunity-led. It also notes the persistence presence of religious and cultural norms in determining women’s participation as entrepreneurs. In addition, the paper aims to study the determinants of the women entrepreneurship in India by using a logistic regression model. The model establishes more chance of engagement of women entrepreneurs in informal sector home-based work and the enterprises with less than six workers. The model also reveals the increasing chance of women entrepreneurship with increasing general education and establishes the need for formal vocational training. At the end, the study proposes to look at women’s entrepreneurship from the macroeconomic understanding of women’s employment and work and identify policies to ensure that women entrepreneurship does not remain only as distress-driven employment, but become opportunity-led.

The problem of handling solid municipal waste, which is formed during the life of a modern person, is becoming more and more urgent every day. The growth of consumption in modern society entails an increase in the formation of waste, which must no longer be stored, but subjected to recycling or recycling for further use. The solution of this problem, in addition to the technical and organizational component, is possible by forming a culture of solid municipal waste management (hereinafter MSW) among the population, that is, the formation of an ecological culture. The article describes the implementation of the social project “Organization of environmental education and formation of environmental culture of the younger generation in the field of solid municipal waste management” of the Transbaikal State University. During the implementation of the project, the level of environmental culture of schoolchildren was studied by testing in accordance with age. The developed educational and educational program, which includes a set of measures for training and environmental education of general education organization students, helped to motivate them to properly handle waste and form a responsible attitude to nature. Diagnostics formation level of the ecological culture of the younger generation allowed us to state the presence of a problem, namely, the insufficient (low and average) formation level of the ecological culture of general education organization students. Environmental classes and actions allowed students to form an idea of the problems of waste disposal, as well as their understanding of the need for separate collection and recycling of waste. Environmental education of the younger generation has changed their attitude to the problem of separate waste collection and contributed to the formation of environmental consciousness. The study aimed to identify the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (IA) concepts and applications in the content of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) textbooks in Saudi general education. The study adopted the descriptive approach using the method of content analysis. To achieve the purpose of the study, a content analysis tool was developed, and the ICT textbooks were analyzed. The study results indicated that the concepts and applications of AI were available in the content of the intermediate school books in varying overall proportions: (3.46%) in 7th grade, (6.7%) in 8th grade, and (10%) in 9th grade. Additionally, the AI concepts and applications were available in secondary ICT textbooks content: (15%) in 11th grade and (18%) in both 10th-12th grades. The study recommended reconsidering the inclusion of IA concepts and its applications in the ICT textbooks content for the intermediate and secondary educational levels and increasing the inclusion of the AI concepts and applications with transforming from teaching ICT alone in the curricula to focusing more on computing beside the ICT.

Today in society there is a need for artificial intelligence that teaches schoolchildren through oral communication, questions and answers. In the first quarter of the 2020-2021 academic year, secondary school teachers in Kazakhstan spent more time checking students' written responses compared to traditional teaching in previous years. At this time, the teachers noted that there was not enough time to verbally explain the lessons and provide high-quality oral feedback to all students. To solve this problem, we propose to use an artificial intelligence neural network to verbally explain the topic of the lesson in an online learning platform. The proposed article analyses and investigates the methodology for the implementation of oral teaching of schoolchildren using artificial intelligence neural networks in online learning in general education schools. The neural network recognises a school textbook and processes it in a text and audio editor. oral explanation to the student of the theoretical material from the textbook alternates with the assessment of the student's voice response. An online demonstration of ways to solve programming problems is carried out in an online editor installed on an online platform. The proposed online platform can be effectively used in traditional face-to-face education.

The work is aimed at identifying the data architecture and structuring the types of educational data analyzed on various digital educational platforms. The article presents research materials by the method of genetic analysis of labor actions and professional tasks of a teacher, necessary for a competent organization of development based on data. Study 1 studied 25 digital educational platforms for general education from different countries, including 9 Russian (public, private, and corporate). Study 2 included the method of genetic analysis of labor actions and professional tasks of teachers for organizing the development of children based on the analysis of educational data. The results obtained make it possible to say that in the digital educational environment the range of professional tasks is expanding, and the labor actions of the teacher are transformed in the implementation of developmental activities (as a labor function) based on the analysis of educational data.

This article examines the issues of justification and expediency of applying the socio-pedagogical approach (position) in the organization of inclusive education in educational organizations, including the need to develop appropriate technology for organizing and implementing inclusive education in general education organizations. The author also defines a set of socio-pedagogical conditions necessary for the development and implementation of inclusive education in educational organizations of the Russian Federation and presents the stages of the development and implementation of inclusive education. The authors take the position that the creation of a socio-cultural educational environment in a comprehensive school is a means and tool for organizing a new educational landscape that contributes to the effective implementation of an inclusive approach in the Russian education system. An important task of the development of inclusive education is also the training of personnel: managers of inclusive educational institutions, teachers, and specialists who implement the practice of inclusive education.

The article is devoted to the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in the field of education. The perspective directions of using artificial intelligence in the sphere of higher and general education are considered and analyzed. The article actualizes the problem of implementing artificial intelligence technologies in teaching students and schoolchildren. The purpose of the article is to reveal the specifics of the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the field of education. The study is theoretical in nature and includes an analysis of the possibilities of using artificial intelligence technologies at different levels of education. The program of the discipline “Artificial Intelligence Technologies”, developed in the areas of Teacher education training at the Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, is presented. The possibilities of studying artificial intelligence technologies using the Python language in a school computer science course are considered, which will allow you to move to a new level of learning programming both in schools and in higher education.

The purpose of this review was to systematically analyze the literature on behavior management training for general educators (Pre–K-12). We identified 74 articles in which general educators were trained to implement a behavior management strategy. General educators were most commonly trained to implement behavior-specific praise ( n = 12), Class-Wide Function-Related Intervention Teams ( n = 8), or a multi-component intervention package (i.e., a student-level intervention that included a number of strategies; n = 21). The two most common training components were initial training provided in a one-on-one format ( n = 30) and the inclusion of ongoing coaching ( n = 29). Thirty-nine articles included measures of practitioner fidelity or discrete behaviors (e.g., behavior-specific praise) within the context of an experimental design. We evaluated methodological rigor and evidence of effectiveness of these 39 articles using What Works Clearinghouse standards. Eleven articles included group design studies, nine (81.82%) of which met standards with or without reservations, and four designs had promising evidence of effectiveness. Twenty-eight articles included a total of 49 single-case research designs, of which 27 designs (55.10%) met standards with or without reservations, and 23 designs provided moderate to strong evidence of effectiveness. Directions for future research and implications for the field are provided.

Human development encompasses a complete process of forming a knowledgeable, moral, skilled, competitive, and resilient human workforce. Human development has become the main focus and agenda of the country’s leadership to be realized primarily through the education system undergone by citizens’ children. In this regard, the Ministry of Education Malaysia has reviewed the curriculum for Compulsory Subjects (MPW) in all Higher Education Institutions in the country. Thus, the General Education Subject (MPU) has been introduced based on the branch of philosophy of knowledge, which involves humanities, pure sciences, and social sciences. However, with many students in a single lecture, the MPU course has its constraints. Some students consider this course as a subject that can be studied on their own. As a result, it is impossible to realizing future proof graduates. Therefore, this article aims to explain the current situation of implementing MPU courses in Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. The paper is based on findings by reviewing a thorough literature review on the General Education Subject (MPU) courses. This research has applied the document analysis method by analyzing related documents for MPU courses. The data obtained are thematically analyzed via ATLAS.ti 8 software. The research finding has discovered four themes of the General Education Subject (MPU) implementation in Malaysia: its implementation, relevancy, impact, and teaching approach. Finally, the literature conclusion could be used as an initial guide for Higher Education Institutions to improve MPU courses’ implementation in producing future-proof graduates.

In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic affected the whole world, including Russia. The Russian government had to introduce emergency measures to combat the pandemic, including the transfer to distance learning of schoolchildren and students. In the context of a pandemic, it became necessary to urgently consider issues and problems of distance learning in educational organizations, primarily in secondary education organizations. Previously, none of the concepts of informatization of education even considered the massive transition to distance learning for schoolchildren and students.The article examines the readiness of educational organizations, parents and children for the massive use of distance learning, analyzes the problems that arise in the implementation of this form of education, including: the problem of choosing software and platforms for distance learning; problems associated with underdeveloped infrastructure; problems of the availability of electronic educational resources corresponding to the new learning conditions; problems of lack of online work experience for both teachers and schoolchildren; as well as other issues related to distance learning.The need is noted: switching the attention of researchers and developers of software and online platforms to research in the field of mass transition to distance learning at all age levels; the development of new distance online platforms and the processing of many electronic educational resources for new platforms; linking multimedia educational content to exemplary basic educational programs of primary, basic and secondary general education.

This article attempts to conceptualise the relationship between the indi-vidual (professional) and the structural in a period of relatively radical changes in society. The challenging and revealing dialectic of such rela-tions is analysed through the combination of auto-ethnographic reflec-tions and archival documents showing the changes in the functioning of a council of experts in a country that experienced and coped with three fundamentally peaceful transitions: the transition from a self-managed socialist economy to a market economy, the transition from a one-party socialist system to a representative liberal democracy, and from a re-public that was part of a federal state to an independent state. The Ex-pert Council of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia (then still part of the Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia), later renamed the Expert Council of the Republic of Slovenia (at that time a liberal democracy with a mar-ket economy and an independent state), can serve as an example of the productive intertwining of individual (expert) and the structural in the formulation and the implementation of the functional transformation of the educational system. The contextualised account and assessment of the shifts that together helped bring about the independent state and its education system formation outlines the complexity and importance of reflexive governance in the times of transition, which, in itself, brings to the fore a number of relevant issues and invites and supports change in the educational system. Such an opportunity should not be missed by the country and its educators.

Following the adoption of the conceptual design proposed by the White Paper in 1995 and the legislation adopted on this basis, the reform of primary school transformed its overall image. In the present paper, we discuss only some of the solutions and consider the events and changes that have occurred in the last twenty years, devoting special attention to the systemic, programme and process levels. At the systemic level, where the starting point was primarily to ensure justice and equal opportunities, we have managed to maintain an adequate public network and programme structure, despite various attempts to implement the solutions indicated in the White Paper of 2011, and notwithstanding interventions in the system that were not in fact always well thought out. Nonetheless, more attention should have been paid to reducing inequalities related to sociocultural circumstances and different regions in Slovenia. On the programme level, a consensus needs to be reached on what quality general education means to us; this would alleviate conflicting demands placed on teachers, students and planners of programme solutions. On the process level, however, we find that there is a lack of adequate professional support and systematic evaluation studies, as the quality of school cannot be judged solely on the basis of results from international research. In order to take a step forward on the process level, there is need for quality school-linked school policy that is based on various professions and aimed at raising quality rather than at self-promotion and budget cutting in the field of education.

In 2017, WHO recognized scabies as a neglected tropical disease. The aim of the present research was to assess the level of knowledge and fear of scabies among the Saudi population.Methods: This is a cross-sectional online study conducted in the western region of Saudi Arabia from January to September 2019. We used a validated, 12-questions questionnaire to assess the scabies knowledge and the Fear of Scabies Scale-10 (FSS-10) to determine the level of fear toward scabies.Results: A total of 3778 respondents were included with majorities of them being female and between the age of 15– 30 years. About 93.3% of the respondents were considered to have good level of knowledge towards scabies and those were more likely to be females, live in an urban area, have heard about scabies in the past, younger in age, achieved higher educational level, and work for the medical and general education sector (all P < 0.001). The total possible scores ranging from 10 (less fear) to 40 (greater fear). The mean total FSS-10 score was 33 ± 4.46 with 58.3% of them were considered to have greater fear and those were more likely to be female, younger in age, educated with higher educational degree, work for the general education sector and medical and, but less likely to be unemployed (all P < 0.001). Partial correlation adjusting for potential confounders showed significant positive correlation between FSS-10 score and the scabies knowledge score (r = 0.152, P < 0.001).Conclusion: Despite the good level of scabies knowledge, the level of fear towards scabies is high. Further educational programs recommended decreasing the negative effect of scabies on the community and the individuals’ quality of life.Keywords: scabies, knowledge, fear, skin, infection, Saudi

The article considers the problem of educational migration of the population from the Republic of Buryatia. The paper presents the preliminary results of the author's sociological research, within the framework of which an anonymous survey of high school students in Buryatia and an expert survey of directors of general education institutions in Buryatia were conducted. The results of the study indicate a high educational migration potential among Buryat school graduates, for whom the presence of the specialty / field of study, the quality of education and the availability of budget places are significant choosing an educational institution. The study also analysed secondary data from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Buryatia, obtained at an official request, and statistical data from the Territorial Body of the Federal State Statistics Service for the Republic of Buryatia, which made it possible to determine the scale and direction of educational migration from the Republic.

The article deals with teaching school informatics in the context of digitalization of education. We will present a brief description of the stages already passed by general education schools in Russia and Kazakhstan on the path of digitalization of education, and note the features of the content of computer science training in each of them. The differences in the content of school education in our countries have become noticeable only in the last decade; this period will be considered in more detail. The content of the school course of computer science, combining fundamental and applied aspects, should be continuously developed, thereby ensuring compliance with the current level of development of the field of computer science and information technology.

In this study, the high school and college GPAs of college students who were screened as twice-exceptional were compared to college students screened as gifted and average college students. The greenhouse in the school is not only experimental work in biology lesson and for young naturalists, and is a center for the study of morphology and physiology of plants, and the greenhouse should also become a production laboratory for growing vegetables and crops. Labor education and professional training of the younger generation is an important component in the field of the general education at school. Students realize that in society through work can be achieve great success.

Blended learning is a kind of classroom learning which is suitable to help students for promoting their learning with the 21st century skills. When the collaborative learning is integrated into classroom techniques, blended learning is a way for students to learn their basic knowledge with online technology before they come to classroom, and spend most of their time in the classroom performing team activities to solve new or complex problems. This study proposes a model for teaching and learning in order to develop the blended learning through learning by teaching. Based on the gradual release of responsibility model, rainbow talk is used to encourage students to take responsibility for collaborative learning combined with flipped learning which students are assigned to study lessons and take tests before they come to classroom. This aims at studying effectiveness of the proposed model in order to improve mathematical achievement in mathematical courses of general education program for higher education. The study is a practical research that provides statistical analysis of mathematical learning results of students from the proposed learning model. The results of this study indicate that mathematical achievement of students is attained in accordance with the learning outcomes of the course at a satisfactory level and is satisfied with the learning and teaching at a good level.

The problem of interaction between general education schools and higher education institutions is one of the most relevant for interdisciplinary research. For this reason, the purpose of the article is not only to evaluate the experience of University professors in modern schools, but also to consider one of the possible mechanisms for improving the intellectual culture of schoolchildren. Universities’ request for the intellectualism of their students cannot be dissociated from the mission of school. Therefore, the article analyzes some of the possibilities of professors working both at Universities and at schools at least five years, to improve the continuity between schools and universities. The professors’ experience of working as school teachers is considered both as a subjective factor (“the desire to feel young”) and as an objective one, aimed at working with gifted young people, with students who are ready to continue their studies at Universities in the future. The article used the method of online survey with the participation of 50 professors of the Russian classical universities. The main requirement for respondents was to combine the positions of school teacher and University professor for at least 5 years. 232 professors had such experience, but not all of them were able to take part in the study. The results of the study can be summarized in the following main provisions: 1) the professors evaluate their teaching experience as a positive not only from the perspective of one’s personal development, but also as a contribution to the development of educational strategies ensuring continuity between schools and universities or their constructive cooperation; 2) the participation of professors in school life significantly affects the quality of schooling, and contributes to the formation of the academic principle in the school environment; 3) the professors’ teaching experience is also important for universities (e.g., students).
