This article focuses on the fact that a random sampling of amusement parks show that most finished ahead this summer despite poor weather on the East Coast and a heat wave in Southern California. Helping to draw more patrons was the addition of a ProSlide Cannonball ride. Canobie Lake Park in Salem, had a decent year thanks to the addition of a Summer Legends entertainment program that featured Bozo the Clown and Elvis Presley and Beatles tribute bands. Attendance at Splish-Splash Waterpark in Riverhead, was up despite a summer season filled with rain and cool temperatures.
