The application of digital technologies has a significant impact on organizational performance by way of different talent management methods, thereby enabling the maintenance of the organization's continuous competitive advantage. Therefore, this paper studied the four key factors that influence organizational performance: digital technology application (DTA), inclusive talent management (ITM), exclusive talent management (ETM), and non-equilibrium investment (NET), aiming to investigate how digital technology application and talent management methods positively affect organizational performance, explore how this relationship is regulated by NET, and provides suggestions for selecting appropriate talent management methods. To conduct quantitative analysis, questionnaires were used with a sample size of 534 middle and senior managers as well as human resources practitioners from different enterprises. The structural equation model (SEM) was employed along with 5000 iterations to test the research hypotheses. The results indicate a positive correlation between digital technology application and organizational performance. Furthermore, ITM and ETM act as intermediaries between digital technology application and organizational performance, whereas NET plays a regulatory role in relation to ITM and organizational performance. Many Balinese Hindus have migrated to East Kalimantan for official assignments, as part of transmigration programs, and for advancing economic opportunities, thus initiating a domestic Balinese diaspora. This diaspora maintains its identities and practices, as in Bali, and seeks to replicate Balinese symbols and practices when connecting with other Hindu communities from different cultures and traditions. This article sheds light on “Bali-centrism” and “quasi-exclusiveness” when the Balinese diaspora interacts with non-Balinese Hindus within East Kalimantan. The authors argue that Bali-centrism and Balinization might alienate and socially exclude non-Balinese Hindus from mainstream Hindu development. To cope with the grief of losing Hindu ‘friends’ from another tradition, a mindset shift is required. Furthermore, with the relocation of the Indonesian capital city from Jakarta to Nusantara, the influx of various ethnic and religious groups, including Hindu adherents, would be unavoidable, although admittedly it is impossible to know at this juncture about the eventual admixture of administration, commerce and culture that the city would comprise. The authors propose a “salad bowl” concept to build Hindu communities in a multicultural state with its new capital city. To augment understanding of the multiplicity of components and attributes influencing a diasporic community, the authors have drawn from applicable, non-religious diasporic experiences as well as from the historical manoeuvring of different religious groups globally; this knowledge may help researchers and community development practitioners understand the prevalence of bonding issues and interaction by sects within all religions.

A system study of the category of exclusiveness in criminal law was performed. Its socio-legal nature was revealed. In the criminal law, there are exceptional conditions for committing crimes, their elements, either aggravating or mitigating, as well as exceptional criminal law measures. The rationales and conditions of capital punishment were discussed. It was concluded that the exclusiveness in criminal law may result in both increased and mitigated penalties that are extraordinary. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully regulate the grounds for their application. The paper also substantiates certain proposals concerning the improvement of some legal norms in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

This study explores how news authorship, exclusiveness, and media type affect readers' paying intent for digital contents. A web-based experiment involving 602 Spanish adults reveals that authorship (prestigious journalist), exclusiveness, and media type (legacy media and new media over unknown media) increase readers' economic value assessments of online news. In addition, our results show that the interaction between authorship and media type is affected by the level of news exclusiveness: when an online article is written by a prestigious journalist and is exclusive, readers' heuristic assessments of its economic value are biased toward new media over legacy ones, and thus privilege the former and penalize the latter in their pecuniary evaluations. Background: Ehrlichia and Rickettsia are two major rickettsial genera transmitted by ticks that affect a number of wild and domestic animal species and human populations around the world. Objective: To design and validate a duplex PCR for Ehrlichia and Rickettsia in ticks. Methods: Assay validation included testing for sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility, and robustness of the PCR. The groEL and 23sr RNA genes were used for Ehrlichia and Rickettsia, respectively. Results: The limit of detection was one hundred gene copies per 50 μL of reaction for Ehrlichia spp, and one gene copy of Rickettsia per 50 μL of reaction. In general, the primers of the test only amplified in silico those bacterial agents for which they were originally designed, with the exception of the primers for Rickettsia that also amplified Methylocystis sp. The test was reproducible (intermediate precision) 96.7% of the times for both agents. The test was robust enough to tolerate concentration changes of all reagents with the exception of Taq DNA polymerase. Conclusions: The validation results indicated that this PCR is useful for detection in both bacterial genera and it is a good candidate for diagnostic validation.

Life-filled and additionally authenticated, theseidentities outweigh the basic identity postulates of closeness and exclusion to another.

Previous approaches to background subtraction in freely moving camera typically focus on improving the accuracy of motion estimation. In this paper, we propose that the accurate background subtraction is possible with the integration of alternative cues about foreground and background. We also put forward a novel background subtraction framework called the integration of foreground and background cues. Here, the foreground cues are extracted by the Gaussian mixture model compensated with image alignment, while the background cues are obtained from the spatiotemporal features filtered by the homography transformation. Subsequently, the integration is devised as a hierarchical competition procedure based on super-pixels under multiple levels with the underlying motivation to utilize the exclusiveness between these cues for the compensation of their corresponding defects. The result of competition between foreground and background cues in a particular super-pixel is used as the proximity, and the foreground is segmented by combining super-pixels with proximity under multiple levels. The definite and indefinite articles have been studied by scholars from different backgrounds and perspectives. In this paper we take a close insight into basic terms such as definiteness--indefiniteness, specificity--non-specificity. The paper is also concerned with the (in)definite reference of a noun phrase which is the head of a relative clause in Spanish. Speakers and hearers do not share any knowledge of the referent on the basis of previously mentioned (anaphora) or situational uses. There is something about the relative clause which makes a first-mention definite article possible. We take an insight into the contents of the description conveyed by such relatives. We consider swarms of luminous myopic opaque robots that run in synchronous Look-Compute-Move cycles. These robots have no global compass, but agree on a common chirality. In this context, we propose optimal solutions to the perpetual exploration of a finite grid. Precisely, we investigate optimality in terms of visibility range, number of robots, and number of colors. In more detail, under the optimal visibility range one, we give an algorithm which is optimal w.r.t. both the number of robots and colors: it uses two robots and three colors. Background: Entrepreneur was the key factor of venture capital-backed star-ups, and control rights serve as an important incentive to attract entrepreneurs’ human capital investment. Objective: In this article, we investigate the ways in which the specificity and exclusiveness of entrepreneurs’ human capital impact the allocation of residual control right (RCR) and specific control right (SCR) in entrepreneurial firms, based on the comprehensive effect of various control right benefits. Methods: Using panel data for a mixed regression model, we test theoretical hypotheses with survey data collected from entrepreneurial firms in various industries in China. Results: We find that when the venture capitalist’s (VC) strategic benefits are less than the entrepreneur’s private benefits, the VC’s RCR is negatively related to the specificity of the entrepreneur’s human capital and is positively related to the exclusiveness of the entrepreneur’s human capital. The VC’s SCR is positively related to the specificity and is negatively related to exclusiveness. When the VC’s strategic benefits are greater than the entrepreneur’s private benefits, the VC’s RCR is positively related to the specificity of the entrepreneur’s human capital and is negatively related to the exclusiveness. The VC’s SCR is positively related to both the specificity and exclusiveness. Conclusion: The impacts of specificity and exclusiveness of human capital are more significant for high-tech companies than for traditional companies. It is necessary for different types of VC-backed firms to implement classified governance over the control rights.

Research has shown that, when Japanese companies go abroad, they continue to apply their distinctive Japanese-style management – with perhaps some adaptation to local economic and socio-cultural contexts. What has not been researched so far is how inclusive or exclusive Japanese-style management is for those working within the organisation. Based on case studies carried out in eight Japanese companies in Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam, this paper investigates how Japanese and local managers and employees are either included or excluded by the values, management styles and ways of decision-making prevailing in their company. The evidence not only shows differences in perceptions but also reveals some questionable aspects of Japanese-style management. It seems to be much more exclusive than suggested by either most stereotypical research on or popular understanding of Japanese management.

Background Breastfeeding may have immune modulatory effects that influence the development of childhood allergic sensitization and atopic diseases. We aimed to examine the associations of breastfeeding with childhood allergic sensitization, inhalant or food allergy and eczema, and whether any association was affected by disease-related modification of the exposure or modified by maternal history of allergy, eczema, or asthma. Methods This study among 5828 children was performed in a population-based prospective cohort from fetal life onwards. We collected information on duration (<2 months, 2-4 months, 4-6 months, and ≥6 months) and exclusiveness (nonexclusive vs exclusive for 4 months) of breastfeeding in infancy by postal questionnaires. At age 10 years, inhalant allergic sensitization and food-allergic sensitization were measured by skin prick tests, and physician-diagnosed inhalant and food allergy by a postal questionnaire. Data on parental-reported eczema were available from birth until age 10 years. Results We observed no association of breastfeeding with any allergic sensitization, physician-diagnosed allergy, or combination of these outcomes. Shorter breastfeeding duration was associated with an overall increased risk of eczema ( P-value for trend <.05). Nonexclusively breastfed children had an overall increased risk of eczema (adjusted odds ratio [95% confidence interval]: 1.11 [1.01, 1.23]), compared with children exclusively breastfed for 4 months. Risk period-specific sensitivity analyses, additional adjustment for ointment use for eczema at age 2 months, and cross-lagged modeling showed no consistent results for disease-related modification of the exposure. Results were not modified by maternal history of allergy, eczema, or asthma (lowest P-value for interaction=.13). Conclusion Shorter duration or nonexclusiveness of breastfeeding is associated with a weak overall increased risk of eczema but not allergic sensitization or physician-diagnosed allergy at age 10 years. The article analyses intensity of tourist flows of inbound and outbound tourism in Ukraine, identifies essence of vip-tourism and its types, the main of which are individual and group tourism. It proves that vip-tourism is one of the most stable types of tourism, which least of all depends on fluctuations of the world economy and political situation in countries and regions – in other words: its development facilitates stabilisation of profit from tourism independent of external factors. It specifies main tendencies of vip-tourism development, which lie mainly in increase of diversity of services, their unique nature and technological effectiveness. It makes a conclusion about expansion of vip-tourism due to gradual post-crisis development of the world economy.В статье проанализирована интенсивность туристических потоков въездного и выездного туризма в Украине, определена сущность vip-туризма, его виды, основными из которых являются индивидуальный и групповой туризм. Доказано, что vip-туризм является одним из наиболее устойчивых видов туризма, который менее всего зависит от колебаний мировой экономики и политической ситуации в странах и регионах. То есть его развитие способствует стабилизации прибыли от туризма независимо от внешних факторов. Выделены основне тенденции развития vip-туризма, которые заключаются в основном в увеличении разнообразия услуг, их уникальности, технологичности. Сделан взвод о расширении vip-туризма благодаря постепенному посткризисному развитию мировой экономики.

The article examines the part of Petko Todorov’s characters, that appears to remain away from the reception of literary criticism. These are all the famele characters, no mater their ethnicity or social status. This work propeses a semeotic analysis of all elements involved in the construction of the characters, looking for their common features and distinctive characteristics. As dominant in female imagery is displayed their exclusiveness - both in their appearance and their behavior. A conclusion is formulated, that Petko Todorov’s heroines aspire to love and freedom transgress taboos of the community and become a victim of their own modern selfhood. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim Investigating the variability of the age of onset ( AOO) of sexual interest in children ( SIC) and the interrelations of important measures in individuals having a SIC, especially the role of the AOO. Methods A sample of 75 individuals from different contexts having a SIC was examined within an online survey. We explored the relations between AOO and other characteristics of the sample using correlation coefficients. The main outcome measures were self-reported AOO of the SIC, its exclusiveness, its flexibility over time, participants' motivation to change it, and their self-efficacy for modifying it. Results Results displayed that the AOO ranges from 6 to 44, and has a mean value of 17 and a median of 15 years. AOO correlates only with the flexibility, indicating that the earlier participants recognized their SIC, the less change they have experienced over time. Conclusion AOO of SIC may be broadly distributed and related to its flexibility. While forms of a 'new-nobility ( Neuadel) discourse' arise and are discussed in the German cultural landscape of the early twentieth century, concepts of exclusiveness and inclusiveness are constantly aestheticized in German literature until the middle of the century by means of a renewed aristocratic semantics. In different ways, both Thomas Mann's novel Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers [ Felix Krull, Confessions of Felix Krull: Confidence Man] (1954) and Ernst Wiechert's novel Das einfache Leben [ The Simple Life] (1939) show that aristocratic, noble protagonists attain a considerable new significance in modern literature via their connection to specific historical contexts as well as to a putative timelessness. This study examines descriptions of families after separation and re-partnering, with a focus on family boundaries between those considered family and those excluded from it. Adults in stepfamilies may try to maintain a large number of family ties originating from various partnerships, or they may limit the recognition of their family to the members of their new household. Children, on the other hand, are encouraged to maintain contact with both parents and their relatives. Family descriptions of 48 re-partnered mothers residing in Switzerland, as well as their current partners and children, are analysed by focusing on exclusiveness and inclusiveness in written or drawn descriptions. Descriptions collected in family interviews follow a balance of social tensions among interdependent individuals by which responses of children usually match those of their mothers. Mothers’ responses show a high level of exclusiveness, whereas responses of mothers’ partners and children are more balanced between exclusivity and inclusivity. Purpose: German guidelines recommend breast milk as ideal for infant's nutrition, supporting exclusive breastfeeding for at least 4 months. Moreover, in mothers with insufficient fish intake, DHA status may be improved by supplementation during pregnancy and lactation. However, little is known on current rates of breastfeeding and DHA supplementation in Germany. The objective of this study was to analyse frequencies and demographic determinants of breastfeeding and DHA supplementation in Germany. Methods: Data derived from a nationwide consumer survey of 986 mothers with children between 5 and 36 months of age in Germany. Results: 78.3 % reported that they ever breastfed their children, and 55.6 % of the mothers exclusively breastfed for at least 4 months. Mothers who did not breastfeed were less likely to be informed by their paediatrician or midwife and were more often not informed at all; 27.8 % of mothers used DHA supplements during pregnancy, 16.8 % postnatal. DHA supplementation was more common in women with a high versus a low fish intake. The social status was the major determinant of breastfeeding initiation and exclusivity and also DHA supplementation. Conclusion: Breastfeeding initiation and duration of exclusive breastfeeding in Germany need to be improved. Professional counselling and support, with a focus on mothers from lower social classes, appears necessary to increase current rates of breastfeeding initiation, duration, and exclusiveness, but also to ensure a sufficient supply with DHA in pregnant and lactating women, particularly in women with low fish consumption. Analysis of behavioural consistency is an important aspect of software engineering. In process and service management, consistency verification of behavioural models has manifold applications. For instance, a business process model used as system specification and a corresponding workflow model used as implementation have to be consistent. Another example would be the analysis to what degree a process log of executed business operations is consistent with the corresponding normative process model. Typically, existing notions of behaviour equivalence, such as bisimulation and trace equivalence, are applied as consistency notions. Still, these notions are exponential in computation and yield a Boolean result. In many cases, however, a quantification of behavioural deviation is needed along with concepts to isolate the source of deviation. In this article, we propose causal behavioural profiles as the basis for a consistency notion. These profiles capture essential behavioural information, such as order, exclusiveness, and causality between pairs of activities of a process model. Consistency based on these profiles is weaker than trace equivalence, but can be computed efficiently for a broad class of models. In this article, we introduce techniques for the computation of causal behavioural profiles using structural decomposition techniques for sound free-choice workflow systems if unstructured net fragments are acyclic or can be traced back to S- or T-nets. This paper discusses the importance of travel opportunities by examining travel motivations and benefits. Even though travel presents various benefits, this research interviews and surveys indicated that international traveling was still exclusive in economically developing countries (e.g. Republic of Korea). The result also indicated the possibility of exclusiveness of domestic travel opportunities in least developed countries. This paper is finalized with the conclusion that travel opportunities can be as pivotal as educational opportunities, and thus strategies are required for travel opportunities to be more inclusive or open. The article offers a look at evangelicalism and ecumenism within Pentecostal-Charismatic theological education. The influence of dispensationalism during the 20th century in European evangelicalism and Pentecostalism is discussed. It is noted that such education needs to help learners-students-disciples in understanding the distinctive ecumenical contribution of the Pentecostal-Charismatic movements to the church at large.

In both policy and research, civic engagement and citizen participation are concepts commonly used as important dimensions of social sustainability. However, as migration is a global phenomenon of huge magnitude and complexity, citizen participation is incomplete without considering the political and ethical concerns about immigrants being citizens or non-citizens, or 'the others'. Although research on citizen participation has been a frequent topic in local government studies in Sweden, the inclusiveness and exclusiveness of terms used in the context of local political engagement, which are addressed in this article, has not received attention. This article examines the Swedish case by analyzing information provided by the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and by websites of all 290 municipalities as well terms used in selected research publications on local participation. Additionally, this article studies the effectiveness of municipal websites in providing information to their residents about how they can participate in local democracy. The results show that the term citizen is commonly and incorrectly used both by local authorities and the Association. The article concludes that the term citizen is a social construction of exclusiveness and the use of the term citizen should be avoided in political and civic engagement except for the limited topics that require formal citizenship.
