In order to investigate the sintering mechanism between Ti and A1 in low temperature stage, the low temperature internal friction behaviors of Ti/A1 composite powder compact were studied systemically based on internal friction measurement technology. The experimental results show that the internal friction performance of the Ti/Al composite powder compact has obvious temperature effect. During the temperature measurement, the peak value of the irreversible internal friction near 270 °C decreases with the increase of frequency, and increases with the increase of A1 content. It is caused by stress release and is a stress type internal friction peak. During the cooling process, the peak of internal friction peak near 230 °C shifts to the high temperature, and has a certain relaxation characteristic. The internal friction peak originates from the slip o£ the A1 boundary formed by recrystallization during the heating process of of Ti/A1 composite powder compact. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
