The lanthanum(III) complexes tris(3,5-diphenylpyrazolato-κ2 N, N′)tris(tetrahydrofuran-κ O)lanthanum(III) tetrahydrofuran monosolvate, [La(C15H11N2)3(C4H8O)3]·C4H8O, (I), and tris(3,5-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazolato-κ2 N1, N2)tris(tetrahydrofuran-κ O)lanthanum(III), [La(C14H10N3)3(C4H8O)3], (II), both contain LaIII atoms coordinated by three heterocyclic ligands and three tetrahydrofuran ligands, but their coordination geometries differ. Complex (I) has a mer-distorted octahedral geometry, while complex (II) has a fac-distorted configuration. The difference in the coordination geometries and the existence of asymmetric La-N bonding in the two complexes is associated with intramolecular C-H...N/O interactions between the ligands. New disilver(i) methanedisulphonate complexes [CH2(SO3)2Ag2·Ln] (L = PPh3; n= 2, 2a; n= 3, 2b; n= 4, 2c; n= 5, 2d; n= 6, 2e; L = P(OEt)3; n= 2, 2f; n= 4, 2g; n= 6, 2h) were prepared by the reaction of [CH2(SO3)2Ag2], which could be synthesized from methanedisulphonic acid and Ag2CO3in water, with triphenylphosphine or triethylphosphite in dichloromethane under a nitrogen atmosphere. The solid state structures of three complexes 2c, 2dand 2fwere determined by single X-ray structure analysis. Hot-wall metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) experiments were carried out at 395 °C, 420 °C and 450 °C using 2gas precursor for the deposition of silver films, respectively. The silver film with high purity obtained at 420 °C is dense and homogeneous, which is composed of many well isolated, granular particulates spreading all over the substrate surface. Abstract Two new dinuclear lanthanide(III) compounds based a multidentate Schiff base ligand with the general formula [Ln 2 (dbm) 2 L 2 (CH 3 OH) 2 ](Ln = Gd (1) and Dy (2), dbm = H 2 L = N′-(4-(diethylamino)salicylaldehyde)pyridyl-2-carbohydrazide), have been synthesized, structurelly and magnetically characterized. Compounds 1 and 2 are μ 2 -O bridged dinuclear complexes and each center Ln(III) ion is eight-coordinated with one bidentate dbm−, one CH 3 OH and two μ 2 -O bridging Schiff base ligands. Magnetic studies reveal that 1 displays cryogenic magnetic refrigeration property (−ΔS m = 21.1 J kg−1 K−1 for Δ H = 7 T at 2.0 K); while 2 exhibits slow magnetic relaxation behavior under zero dc filed. Abstract: New disilver(I) methanedisulfonates complexes {CH2(SO3)2Ag2·[P(OMe)3] n } (n =2, 2a; n =4, 2b; n =6, 2c) were prepared by reacting [CH2(SO3)2Ag2], which could be synthesized from methanedisulfonic acid and Ag2CO3 in water, with trimethylphosphite in dichloromethane. The molecular structure of 2a was determined using X-ray single crystal analysis. Complex 2a exhibits an infinite chain structure with eight-membered rings (AgOSOAgOSO) fully interconnected by the third sulfonic O atoms. Complex 2b was used to deposit silver films by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) for the first time. The silver film obtained was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersion X-ray analysis (EDX). [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Six organophosphine/phosphite stabilized silver(I) complexes of 2-acetyl-1,3-indandione (2-AID) of type L n ·AgC11H7O3 (L=PPh3; n =1, 2a; n =2, 2b; L=P(OMe)3; n =1, 2c; n =2, 2d; L=P(OEt)3; n =1, 2e; n =2, 2f) have been prepared by reacting of [AgC11H7O3], which could be obtained by reacting of 2-AID with AgNO3, with triphenylphosphine, trimethylphosphite, or triethylphosphite in 1:1–2M ratio. These complexes were obtained in high yields and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H, 13C{H} NMR, IR spectroscopy, and thermal analysis (TG and DSC), respectively. The molecular structure of 2a has been determined by X-ray single crystal analysis in which the silver atom is in a distorted trigonal geometry. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
