The article suggests the possibility that proposed health reform in the U.S. could outlast efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Issues and concerns discussed are the impact of the expansion of insurance coverage on every level of care, cost of care and services covered by Medicare and Medicaid, quality of care standards and quality measures for paying doctors based on patient outcomes, and potential increase in the number of uninsured patients if the health law is repealed.
