The article describes the options for using different types of seals in low-speed long-stroke piston units. The deformations calculated values for the cylindrical part of the working chamber and the current value of the actual gaps for various cylinder-piston seals were determined. Based on the established minimum value of volumetric efficiency and isothermal efficiency indicator as well as on the maximum temperature, we have analyzed workflow stage air piston stroke of the compressor unit and made recommendations for the application of the considered types of seals. The article deals with the evaluation of the influence of the cooling jacket design parameters of the low-speed stage of a long-stroke piston unit on the stress-strain state of the cylinder walls. The results of the analysis for a specific implementation of the cooling jacket design of the unit are presented, which show that the main contribution to the stress- strain state of the cylinder walls is provided by temperature loads due to the working process of gas compression. The resulting excessive heat load on the structural parts of the unit leads to the necessity to use an external cooling system. The paper solves the critical task for experimental determination of cylinder-piston seal gap dependence on working pressure, temperature and position of the piston. The experimental studies made it possible to obtain the dependence of the conditional gaps on the pressure in the cylinder-piston seal of low-speed long-stroke units during the operation of the compression stage. The theoretical analysis carried out in this work showed the relevance of the topic of determining the dependencies of conditional gaps in long-stroke units on the discharge pressure for various designs of the compression stage. Significant errors in the performance of calculations, especially for large diameters of the steps, make it unacceptable to use the values of gaps obtained for the existing structures of piston units. The currently relevant task of determining the dependence of the conditional clearance in the cylinder-piston seal on the working pressure with a fixed piston is solved by the authors in this paper. Experimental studies carried out allowed us to obtain the dependence of the conditional gaps on the pressure in the cylinder-piston seal of low-speed long-stroke units with static blow-downs. The obtained data allowed us to determine the best seal for piston low-speed long stroke units. The article presents the results of studies of the impact of long-stroke super-slow-speed units chamber leakages on the working process. The working chamber leakages are determined by the conditional clearance size in the valves and cylinder piston seal. The work confirmed the significant impact of conditional clearances values on the integral characteristics of the super-slow-speed long-stroke stages of piston compressor units and gave an estimate of the leakages influence share through valves and piston seals on the total amount of leakages. The article analyzes the stress-strain state of a low-speed stage cylinder of a long-stroke piston compressor unit with consideration of the wall’s temperature. The conducted calculations allow the optimal design of a piston compressor stage under temperature loads, considering real gaps in the cylinder-piston seal in the deformed state.
