This bachelor thesis focuses on the mapping of distance teaching of the English language in high schools with an emphasis on the role of online technologies in this teaching. I conducted six semi-structured in-depth interviews with selected English language teachers. I chose these based on a questionnaire survey of first-year students in university who were graduating from English and had the opportunity to provide me with a contact on their former English teacher. I also conducted interviews with students who were students of these teachers at the time of the research to triangulate the data. During the interviews, I was interested in what online tools the teachers used in their distance teaching, how they became familiar with them, and how they received information about these tools. Furthermore, I explained the scope and methods in synchronous and asynchronous teaching and how each method and goal changed due to distance learning. I also focused on the comparison of the effectiveness of distance teaching versus face-to-face teaching, as well as what are the positives and negatives of distance teaching and the barriers to effective distance teaching. Lastly, I found out how the respondents' experience will affect the future of English language teaching. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis describes online tools suitable for distance teaching of the English language.

This bachelor thesis focuses on different views of parents' role in education. It draws on the previous research of parents' involvement in education and develops the research further through an analysis of a specialized periodical. More specifically, it focuses on how the authors of Teachers' Newspaper perceived the parents' role between 2003-2013. To achieve this objective, it adopts the method of frame analysis which examines highlighting of various aspects of observed reality in texts. In this case, the frame analysis of Teachers' Newspaper explores different aspects of authors' experience with parents made salient in their texts. The frame analysis uses the concepts of parents' role in education as frames and examines presence of such framing in the texts. The frame analysis was enhanced by the identification of recurring themes the authors attributed to parents. The identified themes were used to describe different types of framing. The analysis discovered framing of parents as educational partners, customers, problems and social partners. The analysis did not, however, reveal any presence of framing parents as citizens. On the other hand, the analysis showed presence of other, previously undefined frames. These are parents as determinants, engagement targets, and debate participants.

Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder with many negative sequelae related to the school attendance of aff ected children. School environment plays a fundamental role in the stigmatization accompanyi ng this dise ase. Individual risk factors related to children with epilepsy themselves, their parents, teachers and clas smates have not been suffi ciently studied yet; the complex structure of the school life of children with epilepsy determined by the mutual coupli ng of the particular variables thus remains unclear. The fi rst objective of this review article is to provide an overview of the most important fi ndings related to this topic. The second objective is to introduce a complex study in which outcome will be a detailed structural model taki ng into consideration the most important variables related to the life of children with epilepsy in a school and quantify ing the links between them. Such a complex model should serve as a theoretical background for plan n ing tailored interventions to improve the quality of life of these children by means of reduc ing the stigma related not only to the dise ase itself but also to report the parents’, teachers’ and class mates’ knowledge. Recom mendations for further research as well as clinical practice in this field are given at the end of the study.

Autonomy of directors and teachers in the current Chinese educational system Mgr. Radana Wagenknechtová 2015 ABSTRACT This thesis looks at the Chinese educational system and the autonomy that directors and teachers share in the decision making process. It not only examines the educational system as a whole but analyses different levels of the educational system, puts an emphasis on the autonomy of teachers and directors in a school environment, and introduces various school reforms in China since 1976. Consequently, it clarifies the current Chinese educational system with an emphasis on various organizational levels along with the power they have in the decision making process and the options for creating change. Through the study of key documents of the Chinese educational system, political system, and other foreign literature, the legislative processes and documents that are responsible for the Chinese educational policies are made apparent. The thesis compares the official Chinese educational system's documents and processes with the actual situation. Based on this research, the thesis determines the real level of autonomy that directors and teachers possess in the decision making process.

In my thesis I focus on the issue of death in relation to helping the bereaved, especial when they are children. I would like to show how children perceive the death of a loved one and how does this crisis situation project into their school life. As a College of Education student I am interested in how does this matter penetrate inside the school environment, whether it is included in the content of classwork and how is it accepted by the pupils. From my position of a starting teacher I would like to find out, by means of this thesis, whether there are any practices on how to treat a pupil who finds himself in this uneasy situation. This is a very timely topic, however it is often concealed and tabooed. From my point of view we should talk about death more, the topic of death should get more into the awareness of the pupils, because not only happy moment are a part of our lives, unfortunately there are also misery and sadness.

My wish would be after reading this work to increase patriotism, love and respect fot the history of our school. I took advantage memories of witnesses for readability and catchiness readers. I tried to create text with elements of experiential learning. I believe that experiential...
