Aims and Objectives: To assess the effectiveness of different nonpharmacological treatments for severe radiation‐induced oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer. Background: Radiation‐induced oral mucositis is highly prevalent in patients with head and neck cancer. Current medications for radiation‐induced oral mucositis are limited in effectiveness and susceptible to side effects, and while there is an increasing adoption of nonpharmacological interventions, the optimal one remains unclear. Design: Systematic review and network meta‐analysis based on the PRISMA‐NMA guidelines. Methods: Six databases were searched. Two authors independently performed the literature screening, data extraction and methodological quality assessment of the included studies. Traditional pairwise meta‐analysis was performed by R Studio. A network meta‐analysis was then conducted to assess the effects of nonpharmacological interventions for severe radiation‐induced oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer. Results: Fifty‐two studies involving seven types of nonpharmacological interventions were enrolled. The network meta‐analysis indicated that natural plant‐based therapies might be the most effective, health education interventions might be the second most effective, and honey might be the third most effective interventions for reducing the incidence of severe radiation‐induced oral mucositis. For reducing the incidence of severe oral mucositis‐related pain, the pairwise meta‐analysis showed that only natural plant‐based therapies and health education interventions were effective. Conclusions: Nonpharmacological interventions are effective in the management of severe radiation‐induced oral mucositis among patients with head and neck cancer. Relevance to clinical practice: Nonpharmacological interventions are a category of safe and effective adjunctive therapies that should be encouraged in clinical practice. Aim: To examine the multidimensional properties of caregiver burden among family caregivers of patients with advanced cancer in a palliative context. Design: A sequential, explanatory, mixed‐method study was performed. Methods: Family caregivers of patients diagnosed with advanced cancer were recruited from a palliative care department of a third‐level hospital in Sichuan Province, China. The Caregiver Burden Inventory, Social Support Rating Scale and Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale were used to collect quantitative data, and a total of 150 caregivers were recruited from January 2022 to September 2022. Qualitative data were collected through semi‐structured interviews, and a total of 22 caregivers were interviewed from October 2022 to November 2022. Survey data were analysed using descriptive statistics, and the factors of caregiver burden were identified using the Mann–Whitney U test, Kruskal–Wallis H test and Spearman correlations. Interpretative phenomenological analysis was performed to analyse the interview data to initially explore the multidimensions of caregiver burden. The following‐a‐thread method and convergence coding matrix were used for triangulation to examine the multidimensional properties of caregiver burden. Results: The participants experienced a moderate level of caregiver burden (32.97 ± 13.09). Through triangulation, six meta‐themes and nine meta‐subthemes were identified as multidimensional properties of caregiver burden, including physical (too many caring tasks and poor health condition), emotional (strong negative emotions resulting from patients' suffering and insufficient and ineffective family communication), social (less social interaction and social role conflict) and economic burdens, factors that aggravate burden (prevention and control of COVID‐19 and spousal relationship with patients) and factors that mitigate burden (social support). Conclusion: Multiple dimensions of caregiver burden were experienced by family caregivers of patients with advanced cancer in the palliative context. Family‐centred palliative care must be further developed. Implications for the profession: It is important to develop family‐centred palliative care. Therefore, the focus must be on developing a rational understanding of palliative care in public and a culture‐oriented death education in palliative units. Impact: This study adopted a mixed‐method approach to comprehensively understand the phenomenon of and factors in caregiver burden in the Chinese palliative oncology context.Our findings suggest that family caregivers in palliative oncology experience a moderate level of caregiver burden, with dimensions including physical, emotional, social and economic burdens, among which emotional burden is the most prominent.The findings of this study provide policy makers and nurse practitioners with targets to be addressed in family‐centred care in Chinese palliative units. Aims and objectives: To detect the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between perceived social support and burnout in Chinese palliative nurses. Background: Palliative nurses are a group that is vulnerable to burnout. Perceived social support may contribute to decreasing palliative nurses' burnout and facilitating their personal resilience, and resilience may be associated with lower levels of burnout. However, these relationships were unclear in the Chinese context. Design: A cross‐sectional design. Methods: The STROBE guideline was performed to report this study. A mixed sampling method including convenience sampling and stratified sampling was used to recruit participants, and a total of 319 palliative nurses completed the Nursing Burnout Scale, the Perceived Social Support Scale and the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale from May 2021 to September 2021. Influencing factors were primarily identified using independent‐sample t tests and one‐way ANOVA. Bootstrap method was used to detect the mediating effect of resilience. Results: The level of burnout in palliative nurses (23.4 ± 7.68) was higher than that of general nurses in China. Education level, health condition and monthly income were influencing factors of burnout. Resilience was detected as a mediator in the relationships between perceived social support and dimensions of burnout. Conclusions: Chinese palliative nurses experience a relatively high level of burnout, which may be influenced by several sociodemographic variables. Resilience could mediate the effect of perceived social support on the dimensions of burnout. Problem‐oriented and palliative‐tailored strategies should be developed to further address burnout in Chinese palliative nurses. Relevance to clinical practice: Nurse managers and policy makers should support nurse ongoing education, adopt health‐promoting interventions and optimise salary systems. In addition, perceived social support resources and resilience training programmes are also warranted. Background: Burnout occurs frequently in nurses and seems more common in nurses providing palliative care. However, to our knowledge, there is a lack of understanding regarding the factors influencing burnout among palliative nurses in China. Methods: A cross-sectional design was conducted. A total of 331 palliative nurses from 25 hospitals participated in this study. Anonymous data were collected through a self-designed social-demographic questionnaire, the Nursing Burnout Scale, the Perceived Social Support Scale, the General Self-Efficacy Scale, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire. Independent sample t tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and multiple linear regressions were performed to identify the related factors of the three dimensions of burnout. Results: In the results of multiple linear regression, resilience, health condition, coping style, and pessimistic personality were common related factors; in addition, end-of-life care training, social support, and income satisfaction were statistically significantly associated with burnout. These factors could explain 38.6%, 27.8%, and 34.5% of the total variance in emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment, respectively. Conclusions: The findings of this study help policy makers and nurse managers better understand burnout among palliative nurses in China. The results highlighted the importance of implementing culture-oriented training programs, providing perceived organizational support, and building a reasonable salary system to decrease burnout among palliative nurses, increase the quality of nursing and promote the development of Chinese palliative care. Aims: We aim to explore the prevalence and potential facilitators and inhibitors of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction among Chinese palliative care nurses. Background: Nurses with compassion fatigue may suffer from health‐related problems, causing decreased work efficiency and quality of care. Palliative care nurses are especially at risk of compassion fatigue due to close contact with terminal patients. Methods: A province‐wide cross‐sectional survey using convenience sampling was conducted among 318 palliative care nurses at 25 hospitals and healthcare institutions in Sichuan Province, China. Data were collected using demographic questionnaire and five scales: Professional Quality of Life Scale, General Self‐Efficacy Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire, and Connor‐Davison Resilience Scale. Data analyses including descriptive statistics, t‐test, one‐way ANOVA, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression. Results: Mean scores (SD) for burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and compassion satisfaction were 25.42 (4.75), 26.08 (5.72), and 35.67 (5.77), respectively. Related factors predicted 40.30%, 27.10%, and 35.4% of the variance in the model of burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and compassion satisfaction, respectively (all p <.001). Conclusions: The levels of burnout and secondary traumatic stress among Chinese palliative care nurses were higher than those among other types of nurses. Social support, resilience, positive coping, family recognition of work, and income satisfaction are inhibitors of compassion fatigue among palliative care nurses. Implications for Nursing Management: Nursing administrators and educators should consider providing effective and targeted strategies (e.g. ongoing training and psychological interventions) to decrease compassion fatigue among palliative care nurses based on the cultural and ethical settings. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a severe malignancy arising from the nasopharyngeal epithelium and is southern China's third most common cancer. With the advancement of treatment methods, early-stage NPC patients usually have a better prognosis and more prolonged survival period than those with other malignant tumors. Most treatment failures are due to distant metastasis or a locally advanced stage of NPC in the initial diagnosis. In addition, approximately 10% of patients develop local recurrence, and 10%–20% of patients experience distant metastasis after treatment. These patients have a poor prognosis, with a median survival of only approximately 10–15 months. In the rapid development of treatment options, the efficacy and safety of some treatments have been validated and approved for first-line treatment, while those of other treatments remain unclear. The present study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of recent advances in NPC treatment and explain the various therapeutic possibilities in treating locally advanced, recurrent, and metastatic NPC patients. Family environments are known to usually be better for children’s development than institutional care. China has experience with different forms of foster care, but none have been empirically evaluated, especially with respect to children’s outcomes. One form of foster care is ‘collective fostering’, in which many foster families live in a single apartment building on the grounds of the institution. The goal of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of such a project operated by a children’s institution in a large city in China by examining changes in children’s height and weight from before to after entering foster care. Results (n = 102, mean age = 63 months) showed a significant positive quadratic relationship between time and height (p = .002), with height z-scores declining during institutional residency and then increasing after entering foster care. Further analysis on children (n = 23) who were enrolled in the fostering project for more than 65 months showed that their height and weight z-scores improved significantly while living in foster families compared to the last assessment before the transition. Background Caregivers of patients with heart failure experience burden and negative health outcomes. Adequate support for family caregivers improves their well-being and the quality of care provided to the patients. However, little is known about the benefits of interventions for caregivers of patients with heart failure in China. Objectives To test the effects of a multidisciplinary supportive program for family caregivers on caregiver burden, quality of life, and depression. Design A randomized controlled design with repeated measures was used in this study. Methods A total of 118 participants were randomized into experimental ( n = 59) and control groups ( n = 59) from May to December 2014 in one hospital in Chengdu, People's Republic of China. Participants in the experimental group received a 3-month multidisciplinary supportive program, consisting of three 60-min sessions of group classes, three 30-min peer support groups, and regular telephone follow-ups and consultations, while participants in the control group received usual care only. Outcomes were caregiver burden, quality of life, and depression. Data were collected at baseline, post-test (3 months after discharge), and 3 months after post-test (6 months after discharge). The repeated measures analysis of variance was used to examine the effects of groups, changes over time, and time-group interaction on outcome variables. Results There were significant improvements in caregiver burden, mental health, and depression after post-test and 3 months after post-test in the experimental group. However, there was no significant improvement in caregivers’ physical health at either 3 or 6 months following discharge. Conclusions A multidisciplinary supportive program for caregivers of heart failure patients had positive effects and provides a unique perspective of an intervention considering Chinese culture and customs. We investigated the status of caregiver burden and identified the factors related to caregiver burden among family caregivers of patients with heart failure in southwest China. A cross-sectional descriptive design with a convenience sample was adopted. Patient and family caregiver dyads ( n = 226) in four hospitals in Chengdu, China were recruited from June 2013 to July 2014. The instruments used in this study included the Social Support Rating Scale, the Zarit Burden Interview, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. Multivariate analysis was used to identify the factors associated with caregiver burden. Forty-four percent of the variance of the caregiver burden was explained by the payment type for treatment, monthly family income, relationship to the patient, caregivers' self-efficacy, and social support. The caregiver burden in southwest China was higher than studies conducted in developed areas. Specific to southwest China, the financial burden and insufficient resources are the main factors associated with caregiver burden. Objective: To identify the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of web-based acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on health-related outcomes in patients with lung cancer., Methods: A feasibility, prospective, parallel, individual-based, assessor-blinded randomized controlled trial was designed. This study was conducted at a third-level hospital in Sichuan Province, China. A total of 101 participants were enrolled and randomly assigned to usual care group or 7-weekly web-based acceptance and commitment therapy group. The primary outcome was feasibility and acceptability of the intervention, and the secondary outcomes including quality of life, psychological flexibility, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and sleep disturbance. Generalized estimating equations were used to evaluate the group differences. All analyses followed the principle of intention-to-treat., Results: Web-based ACT presented good feasibility and acceptability in this study, with an attrition rate of 13.86%, a median compliance rate of 71.43%, and a satisfaction rate of 65.9%. Compared with control group, participants in intervention group reported statistically significant increases in quality of life (MD = 15.10, 95% CI: [10.09, 20.11], d = 0.37), psychological flexibility (MD = -8.42, 95% CI: [-10.81, -6.03], d = -1.47), anxiety (MD = -1.27, 95% CI: [-2.50, -0.05], d = -0.44), depression (MD = -2.11, 95% CI: [-3.28, -0.95], d = -0.76), and sleep disturbance (MD = -1.85, 95% CI: [-3.10, -0.59], d = 0.13) at postintervention, however, the improvement in fatigue was not statistically significant (MD = -2.02, 95% CI: [-9.02, 4.98], d = -0.12)., Conclusions: Web-based ACT was an approach with good feasibility and acceptability, and it could effectively improve quality of life, psychological flexibility, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbance in patients with lung cancer. Objectives: To explore influencing factors for postoperative urinary retention (POUR) in cervical cancer patients and construct and validate a POUR prediction model., Design: A prospective cohort study., Setting: A large tertiary hospital specialised in child and maternal healthcare in Southwest China., Participants: 1101 patients undergoing cervical cancer surgery at our hospital were enrolled in the analytic cohort between 1 July 2022 and 31 July 2023. Another 205 patients were enrolled in the external validation cohort between 1 August 2023 and 31 October 2023. Demographics and disease-related information were collected to construct a risk prediction model by logistic regression. Univariate analyses and a multivariate logistic regression analysis were conducted to determine possible influencing factors. The discrimination and accuracy of the model were assessed by the area under the curve (AUC) and the concordance index, respectively., Results: Univariate analysis identified duration of surgery, intraoperative bleeding, presence of diabetes, hypertension, ureteral adhesion, wound healing classification, preoperative radio/chemotherapy, category of Body Mass Index, history of urinary diseases, history of caesarean section, postoperative urinary infection and use of analgesia pumps as potential influencing factors (p<0.05). Diabetes, wound healing classification, presurgery radio/chemotherapy, postoperative urinary infection, use of analgesia pumps and pain numerical rating score were founded to be significant factors influencing the occurrence of POUR in cervical cancer patients (p<0.05). A POUR prediction model constructed using the factors demonstrated excellent prediction power, with an AUC of 0.897 (95% CI, 0.877 to 0.916, p<0.001). The sensitivity of the model at the optimal threshold was 0.591, with specificity being 0.747. The receiver operating characteristic curve indicated a good performance of the model., Conclusions: Presence of diabetes mellitus, wound healing classification, presurgery radio/chemotherapy, postoperative urinary infection, use of analgesia pumps and pain numerical rating score are factors influencing occurrence of POUR in cervical cancer patients. Aim: We evaluated the efficacy and safety of cofrogliptin, a novel dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor taken once every 2 weeks (Q2W), compared with linagliptin (taken daily) in patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on metformin in China., Materials and Methods: In this phase 3 randomized, double-blind, active-controlled, multicentre study, patients were randomly assigned 1:1:1 to receive cofrogliptin 10 mg Q2W, cofrogliptin 25 mg Q2W, or linagliptin 5 mg daily, all as an add-on treatment to metformin, for 24 weeks. Eligible patients could enter an open-label extension period and receive cofrogliptin 25 mg Q2W for an additional 28 weeks. The primary endpoint was change in glycated haemoglobin from baseline to 24 weeks, with a non-inferiority margin of 0.4% for cofrogliptin versus linagliptin treatment., Results: Overall, 465 patients entered the 24-week treatment period (median age: 57.0 years). The least-squares mean (standard error) change in glycated haemoglobin from baseline to week 24 was -0.96 (0.063), -0.99 (0.064) and -1.07 (0.065) for the cofrogliptin 10 mg, cofrogliptin 25 mg and linagliptin 5 mg groups, respectively. The between-group difference met the predefined margin for non-inferiority of cofrogliptin (10 and 25 mg) versus linagliptin treatment. The incidence of common adverse events (≥5% patients) during the 24-week treatment period was similar between treatment groups. There were no serious hypoglycaemic events., Conclusion: In Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on metformin, the glucose-lowering effect of cofrogliptin (Q2W) was non-inferior to linagliptin (daily), with a similar safety profile maintained over 52 weeks of treatment., (© 2024 The Author(s). Objectives: To describe the perceptions of telehealth services among lung cancer patients in rural areas of China, as well as to explore the potential of telemedicine to improve long-term health recovery at home for rural lung cancer patients., Methods: A qualitative descriptive study design was used in this study and we conducted semi-structured interviews with 14 rural Chinese lung cancer patients between December 2022 and March 2023. Interview content was analyzed using Nvivo software and a framework analysis was performed using the Technology Acceptance Model to identify meaningful themes., Results: Participants identified perceptual and technical factors related to perceived ease of use, benefits and drawbacks related to perceived usefulness, and facilitators and barriers related to intention to use. The cultivation of excellent nursing professionals is an important guarantee of competent human resources essential to the implementation of the national strategy of Healthy China initiative. In the face of the health needs of the whole life cycle and the nursing development driven by emerging technologies, the training of excellence nursing professionals is confronted with new requirements and challenges. In order to cope with the new demands at home and abroad for the training of high-quality nursing staffs, meet the needs for health services that are based on precision, the whole population, the whole life cycle, and individualized care in the new era, and cultivate outstanding nursing staffs with clinical critical thinking skills, nursing decision-making skills, innovative research and practice ability, whole life cycle nursing knowledge and skills, and the ability to keep pace with the times, we wrote this paper to help clarify the needs and challenges of training excellent nursing staffs in China. Herein, taking "precision nursing of health and disease in the whole life cycle" as the core and utilizing the personnel training principle of emphasizing foundation, strengthening ability, improving quality, and promoting personality, we elaborated on the construction of the training model of excellent nursing staffs and suggested that efforts should be made in the following areas, setting up training objectives with a scientific orientation, setting up in a targeted way the knowledge system and the curriculum system, organizing the teaching mode reform into different types and implement them accordingly, making innovations in instructional methodology, and building up high-level teaching faculties. Background: Evidence is limited on the risk impact of body pain on future chronic disease. The present study aimed to investigate the association between body pain and chronic diseases., Methods: Data were analyzed using four waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study with 17 708 individual respondents aged 45 years and older. The association between body pain and chronic disease was estimated in both a cross-sectional cohort (2011) and a longitudinal cohort (2011-2018). The key outcomes include the incidence of overall and any specific chronic diseases. The associations among different body pain sites and 10 independent chronic disease risks were also assessed., Findings: A total of 17 128 participants in 2011 were included in the cross-sectional cohort and 5611 participants were included in the 2011-2018 longitudinal cohort. Body pain showed an association with overall chronic disease in both the cross-sectional models (OR 2.71, 95% CI 2.47 to 2.98) and longitudinal model (risk ratio (RR) 1.21, 95% CI 1.07 to 1.35). Moreover, body pain was found to be associated with an increased risk of chronic respiratory disease (RR 1.43, 95% CI 1.06 to 1.92), heart disease (RR 1.45, 95% CI 1.12 to 1.89), kidney disease (RR 1.83, 95% CI 1.28 to 2.6), and digestive disease (RR 1.48, 95% CI 1.17 to 1.88)., Conclusion: Body pain is associated with major disease and mortality. Background: COVID-19 has spread rapidly over the world. Little is known about the outcomes of infections in pregnant women. The management and characteristics of preterm infants born to COVID-19 mothers need to be clarified., Methods: In this retrospective, single-center cohort study, we describe the clinical courses of 6 preterm infants born to COVID-19 mothers, the management protocol, and related outcomes., Results: Six preterm infants were admitted to Tongji Hospital between January 23 and March 19, 2020. Gestational age ranged from 28+5 to 36+3 weeks. One late preterm infant was delivered early due to maternal dyspnea from COVID-19. Five infants were delivered by Caesarean section. None had perinatal asphyxia. Two infants required respiratory support due to respiratory distress syndrome and apnea of prematurity. All infants did not develop severe complications of prematurity and are negative for severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing., Conclusion: With an expedited and adequate delivery protocol, less invasive treatment principle, and active infection precautious, we found a limited impact of COVID-19 mothers on preterm delivery and neonatal short-term outcomes. Background: During total aortic arch replacement surgery (TARS) for patients with acute type A aortic dissection, the organs in the lower body, such as the viscera and spinal cord, are at risk of ischemia even when antegrade cerebral perfusion (ACP) is performed. Combining ACP with retrograde inferior vena caval perfusion (RIVP) during TARS may improve outcomes by providing the lower body with oxygenated blood., Methods: This study is designed as a multicenter, computer-generated, randomized controlled, assessor-blind, parallel-group study with a superiority framework in patients scheduled for TARS. A total of 636 patients will be randomized on a 1:1 basis to a moderate hypothermia circulatory arrest (MHCA) group, which will receive selective ACP with moderate hypothermia during TARS; or to an RIVP group, which will receive the combination of RIVP and selective ACP under moderate hypothermia during TARS. The primary outcome will be a composite of early mortality and major complications, including paraplegia, postoperative renal failure, severe liver dysfunction, and gastrointestinal complications. All patients will be analyzed according to the intention-to-treat protocol., Discussion: This study aims to assess whether RIVP combined with ACP leads to superior outcomes than ACP alone for patients undergoing TARS under moderate hypothermia. Post-traumatic growth in cancer patients refers to perceived positive changes following cancer diagnosis and treatment. Little is known about the status and factors related to posttraumatic growth among Chinese patients with lung cancer.To investigate the status and factors of posttraumatic growth among Chinese patients with lung cancer.A cross-sectional design was adopted in this study. Patients (N = 173) from the oncology unit at one teaching hospital in Sichuan were recruited. Posttraumatic growth, depression, anxiety, and coping style were self-reported by the patients. Multiple linear regression analysis was to examine factors related to posttraumatic growth.Posttraumatic growth was a common exit in Chinese lung cancer patients. Time since cancer diagnosis, patient depression, and coping strategies are factors that affect the experience of posttraumatic growth.Reducing depression, providing available support, and improving active coping strategies are areas to facilitate posttraumatic growth.

Purpose: To investigate the status of caregiver burden and to identify the factors related to caregiver burden among Chinese family caregivers of patients with lung cancer., Methods: A cross-sectional design with convenience sampling was used in this study. Participants (N = 116) from the oncology inpatient ward at one teaching hospital in Chengdu were recruited from June 2015 to June 2016. The following measurement tools were used: a demographic questionnaire, the Social Support Rating Scale, the General Self-efficacy Scale, and the Zarit Burden Interview. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with caregiver burden., Results: The average ZBI score was 38.8 (SD = 13.4). Patient age (p < 0.01), medical and other types of insurance (p < 0.01), disclosure of the diagnosis to patients (p < 0.01), and social support of the caregiver (p < 0.05) were related to caregiver burden. Fifty-three percent of the variance in caregivers' burden was explained by these identified factors., Conclusions: Caregiver burden was higher among Chinese caregivers of lung cancer patients compared with the results of previous studies. Patient age, medical and other types of insurance, disclosure of cancer diagnosis to the patient, and caregivers' social support are factors associated with caregiver burden. The results suggest that social support, comprehensive healthcare insurance initiatives, and culture-based communication skill training are potential areas for future intervention., (Copyright © 2018 Elsevier Ltd. Objective: To investigate the family function among the bereaved in hard-hit areas 1 year after Wenchuan earthquake and to provide basic information for family reconstruction., Methods: A cross-sectional study was used to survey 264 bereaved who were selected according to the criteria in hard-hit areas after Wenchuan earthquake., Results: The scores of family care function of the bereaved in hard-hit areas after Wenchuan earthquake were 6.52±2.65. Fifty percent of the participants' family kept in good state. The scores of the bereaved family cohesion ranged from 28 to 83 (64.22±9.18), and the scores of family adaptability ranged from 21 to 62 (41.84±6.62). There was no significant difference in the score of family cohesion between the bereaved family and the non-bereaved family (P>0.05). But the score of the family adaptability of the bereaved family was significantly lower than that of the non-bereaved family (P<0.05). The bereaved family types were as follows: 22.0% balanced type, 53.8% middle type and 24.2% extreme type. In the 16 family types, the "intimate-rigid" (24.6%), "intimate-regular" (19.7%) and "disengaged-rigid" (19.3%) type ranked the top three., Conclusion: The family care function of the bereaved in hard-hit areas after Wenchuan earthquake is damaged to different degrees. The main type of family is the middle type. The loss of relatives reduces the participant family adaptability. In the late intervention, we should help the bereaved improve and enhance family function, and promote family reconstruction of the bereaved.
